Here are today's nine contestants about to play for £10,000.

Only one will leave with prize money. Eight will leave empty-handed

after their team-mates vote them the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other. If they want prize money, they have to work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing,

as round by round we lose the player voted the weakest link.

Now the rules. In each round the aim is to answer enough questions

to reach your £1,000 target within the time limit.

The fastest way is to create a chain of nine correct answers.

Get one wrong and you break the chain

and lose all the money in that chain.

But if you say "bank" before the question is asked, the money is safe,

but you start a new chain from scratch.

Remember, at the end of the round, only money that has been banked is taken forward.

I do feel as if I was slightly victimised there.

I was the weakest link for numerous rounds and managed to survive.

But in that round I knew I was better than the other two, so it did come as a surprise.
