Here are the nine contestants for today's show.

Only one will take home prize money of up to £10,000.

The rest leave with nothing

as, one by one, they are voted off as the weakest link.

Welcome to The Weakest Link.

Any of the nine people in the studio here today could win up to £10,000.

They don't know each other.

If they want the prize money, they have to work as a team.

But eight of them will leave with nothing

as round by round we lose the player voted the weakest link.

In each round the aim is to answer enough questions correctly

to reach your £1,000 target

within the time limit.

The best way is to create a chain of nine answers.

Get one wrong, you break the chain and lose it.

But if you say "bank" before the question is asked

the money is safe

but you must start a new chain.

At the end of the round, only money that has been banked

can be taken forward.
