-a likelihood you'll get hurt.

-I've chosen an E9 route,

-which is called Rare Lichen.

-to do my first E9.

-I think I made the right decision

-I'm confident I can do it.

-I had only just left school,

-and I was footloose and carefree.

-where they start to get difficult.

-You can climb indoors...

-..and transfer the skills

-to outdoor sports climbing.

-Bouldering is fairly easy and is

-nothing like traditional climbing...

-..especially in a place like this.

-You can't practise climbing here.

-I'm not familiar with the rock. I

-have to be cautious with every move.

-I can't just go for it.

-It's a positive step into

-difficult traditional climbing.

-It's the sort of

-traditional climbing...

-..where you need

-to do a lot of it...

-..to get into it properly.

-Take it easy, and develop slowly.

-I think it will work well.

-Last year, I pushed and pushed

-and did one summit.

-This year, I hope to achieve

-a handful. It's early days.
