-but he doesn't live there now.

-He returned to the family home

-to be closer to his family.

-My journey will take me across

-the country to Sultan Kosen's home.

-We're heading south to the

-Turkish, Syrian and Iraqi coastline.

-I'm rather nervous.

-It's a dangerous place to visit.

-I don't know what to expect.

-We're 30 minutes away

-from Sultan's village.

-The man himself.

-I'm looking forward to meeting him.

-It's going to be an exciting day.

-I've seen photos of him,

-I've seen a video about him.

-I don't want to talk

-just about his height.

-I want to know how he felt

-as a young man growing up...

-..being far taller

-than everyone else.

-People just stared at him.

-I want to know what it was like

-for him growing up...

-..to be what he is today.

-It's not easy, I know that.

-I want to know how he felt.

-It's hard to believe

-that the world's tallest man...

-..lives in such a remote place.

-We've just arrived

-in Sultan's village.

-I'm looking forward

-to meeting the man himself.

-how tall he is. It'll be a shock.

-When I was 18, I was offered a place

-in an American basketball team.

-I chose to stay in Wales because

-I wanted to play rugby for Wales.

-That was my dream

-when I was a young boy.

-I was fortunate enough to do that.

-I'm still involved with rugby now.

-I've had opportunities

-to travel around the world.

-That's why I'm here today

-to meet you. It's worked out well.

-I've watched a lot of sport,

-football, basketball, but not rugby.

-When I visit you, you'll have

-to take me to a rugby match.

-In Wales, I built an identity

-through playing rugby.

-People not only see me

-as a tall person...

-..they also know me because

-of my career on the rugby field.

-That gives me confidence.

-That must be true for you too.

-When I was young, I had a lot

-of problems with my knees.

-I grew to a height

-of six feet ten inches...

-..when I was 16 years old.

-Because I grew so quickly,

-it placed pressure on my knees.

-I grew quickly but my muscles

-didn't grow as quickly.

-I couldn't work,

-I couldn't walk far.

-Every part of my body was in pain...

-I just can't believe how long

-I can't fit into a car.

-I can't find clothes to fit me.

-Why was I born into this world?

-I don't belong.

-because I'm too tall.
