Get cosy and comfy, sit down with your toys,

here comes a tale for us all to enjoy.

You see, the toys wanted to play a ball game,

but they didn't know which ball to use.

"Wouldn't it be lots of fun to play a game with everyone?"

said Stuffy, one day.

And all the toys agreed,

"It would be lots of fun, indeed!"

"What about playing a ball game?" said Mo.

"But where is the ball? Does anyone know?"

No-one was sure, so they searched the house

for any balls that were lying about.

"I'll look in the corners", Miss Mouse squeaked.

And she found a ball that was small and sweet.

But when she dropped it on the ground,

it boinged up high and bounced around.

"This ball is too bouncy, it might knock my nose,

"which wouldn't feel pleasant, I don't suppose!" squeaked Miss Mouse.

Toddler Tom looked under the bed.

"This is a funny ball", he said.

"It isn't round, and it looks too long."

"It's a rugby ball," said Teddington.

"I think it might be much too big for us smaller toys to play with,"

squeaked Miss Mouse.

"Hey, look at this ball," Mo Mo said.

"I found it in the garden shed.

"It's a very small ball with a funny surround,

"and won't bounce much when dropped on the ground."

"It's a shuttlecock!" said Teddington.

"It's used in a game called badminton."

"Miss Mouse seems to like it," Stuffy said.

"She's wearing it upon her head."

"What about this ball?" said Teddington.

"It's squidgy and fluffy and really good fun."

"That's not a ball, you've got it wrong.

"It's Stuffy!" giggled Toddler Tom.

"Oh, Fluffy, Stuffy, my favourite cube,

"here's a cuddle just for you." chuckled Teddington.

But Stuffy didn't cuddle for long -

there were more important things to be done.

"Everybody come with me.

"There's something special you should see," said Stuffy, excitedly.

They followed Stuffy, dum-dee-dee, into the garden eagerly.

And on the lawn, beside a shrub,

a paddling pool was all set up. But it had no water, not at all!

The paddling pool was filled with... balls!

The toys jumped in straightaway and played hide and seek

for the rest of the day!

Oh, that looked fun, you two!

We can make some more balls now for all the toys to play with

using paper. Hi, Stuffy!

Ooh! Lots and lots of colourful tissue paper! Wow!

Hmm... Which colour do you like, Stuffy?

How are we going to make a ball out of something so flat and thin?
