-through the medium of Welsh.

-What hurdles must they overcome?

-I think confidence

-with Year 7 pupils and the staff.

-Why compete for this medal?

-I wanted to show other youngsters,

-OK. It's difficult.

-there's plenty of work to do first.

-We're in the welcome centre -

-To speak to the public

-and welcome them to the Eisteddfod.

-I hope it's fun for them and

-it gives them the chance to relax.

-we're struggling to hear each other.

-I was nervous before going in.

-I'm happy I did it.

-You can play so many well-known

-it's a Welsh language competition...

-..and not an ukulele playing

-It was quite easy for me

-because I play the guitar too.

-so it wasn't really fair.

-But yes, I enjoyed it.

-have overcome the music challenge.

-When did you start learning and why?

-Three years ago, really,

-when I left school.

-I then went to university.

-I thinks it's important to speak

-other languages. I love Welsh.

-The emphasis of the competition

-has changed.

-The emphasis was on written Welsh,

-now it's on speaking Welsh.

-Is that a good thing?

-I could write Welsh

-better than I could speak it.

-I think communicating

-is just as important now.

-you've been working hard.

-today been for you, Kayleigh?

-It's gone very well.

-It hasn't felt like a competition.

-Today was a good day for you.

-Do you feel happy?

-It was a lot of fun

-and I've made new friends.

-Yes, because there

-was more pressure...

-..but everyone was friendly

-and it was all alright in the end.

-Receiving the award

-I want to show people what they can

-do and hopefully inspire others...
