Hello and welcome to highlights from Proms in the Park 2015

from the Titanic Slipways in Belfast.

Over the next hour, we feature a fantastic line-up of talent,

including Barry Douglas,

Riverdance,

Rebecca Ferguson,

Noah Stewart,

Charlie Siem,

Lucy O'Byrne,

and the Belfast Community Gospel Choir.

We kick things off, though,

with a performance from the Ulster Orchestra,

under the baton of conductor David Brophy.

Yeah, well, a special thanks to Belfast City Council

for their generous support in staging this event.

We are so lucky to be able to return

to this magnificent Titanic venue.

Accompanied by, of course, the Ulster Orchestra

under the esteemed batonship of conductor David Brophy.

Our theme in 2015 is the year of voice.

And we're featuring some of the finest singers around, including one

who will give us a tribute to that giant of jazz and blues -

Billie Holiday.

We begin this evening, though, with a soprano,

who first came to our attention during the BBC series The Voice.

She was mentored by The Black Eyed Peas frontman and judge will.i.am

-and she became...

-I have all his albums.

-I bet you do.

And she became the first classical singer to reach the grand final.

She's a Dublin lass.

We are very, very happy to have her in Belfast tonight.

nearly 30 years

since our next performer was launched

into the musical stratosphere

when he won a gold medal in the

Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow.

One of only four non-Russians to do that.

It started him on a fantastic global career.

When we ask people who they've most enjoyed performing at the Proms,

one name keeps coming up time and again.

So, do you know what?

We've invited him back to Titanic Slipways.

The tenor from Harlem has become

one of the hottest properties in opera.

Three years ago, he became the first black performer

to top the classical charts.

We are absolutely thrilled

to have him here in Belfast with us tonight.

Our next artist is simply one of the brightest young stars

of classical music.

Half Norwegian, half British, he started playing the violin

at the age of three

after hearing Yehudi Menuhin play Beethoven's Violin Concerto.

Yes, he was schooled at Eton and now based in Nice.

He's a recording artist who has performed with

some of the world's leading orchestras.

He has collaborated also with such artists

as Jamie Cullum, Bryan Adams and The Who.

And we have him here with us tonight.

Performing on a violin, which dates back to 1735...

I had the pleasure of presenting some of the coverage

of the highlights for the Tall Ships race here in Belfast back in July.

2015 marks the centenary of the birth

of one of the all-time jazz greats, Billie Holiday,

or Lady Day, as she became known.

Frank Sinatra said she was his greatest single influence.

To celebrate that remarkable legacy, we're now going to introduce

a vocalist who has enjoyed success over the past five years.

She released her own tribute to Billie earlier this year.
