welcome to introduce our first teen hero award a professor and a | :13:04. | :13:11.
surgeon. Kind of it is Professor Green and Aled Haydn Jones. Make | :13:12. | :13:15.
Hello Teen Awards! Hello Wembley! some noise, please, Wembley. | :13:16. | :13:31.
Hello Teen Awards! Hello Wembley! Our first teen hero is a young girl | :13:32. | :13:39.
called Khloe. She struggled with depression, but her outlook changed | :13:40. | :13:43.
when she put someone else's troubles before hers and talked a man out of | :13:44. | :13:49.
jumping off a bridge. When we revealed Khloe had won the award, we | :13:50. | :13:54.
did it live on Radio One, with some MEP from -- help from profressor | :13:55. | :14:02.
Green here. So this is Khloe's story. Teen hero. | :14:03. | :14:15.
We are here in Burton on Trent with Khloe, who works in the canteen We | :14:16. | :14:24.
are here to surprise her with her invite to the award. At just 17 she | :14:25. | :14:29.
has had quite a difficult life, suffering years of bullying, which | :14:30. | :14:35.
led to mental health issues, but ultimately her saving someone's | :14:36. | :14:40.
life. Here is a bit of her back story. We didn't know that Khloe was | :14:41. | :14:47.
being bullied. Her sister that knew most of it. They were best friends | :14:48. | :14:52.
as well as sisters. She was a bit ashamed and embarrassed, because she | :14:53. | :14:56.
didn't know how to handle her emotions and everything and she | :14:57. | :15:00.
didn't want others to know she was struggling. It was like a bomb was | :15:01. | :15:03.
going off inside me. It was horrific. It is difficult to tell | :15:04. | :15:07.
your parents when you think they're going to be disappointed and all you | :15:08. | :15:11.
want to do is for them to love you and tell you it is OK. That is what | :15:12. | :15:15.
she did. On one occasion she went to the local park with her friends and | :15:16. | :15:20.
a girl from her school, who she didn't know, was | :15:21. | :15:24.
a girl from her school, who she attacked her. They filmed it all. | :15:25. | :15:32.
Pulled my hair and kicked me. I remember receiving the phone call, | :15:33. | :15:37.
from Khloe, pick me up. Because something's happened. Because of | :15:38. | :15:39.
that, she was diagnosed with post-traumatic shock, because of | :15:40. | :15:43.
that event. She has tried to take her life three or four times since. | :15:44. | :15:48.
A huge turning point was definitely when me and mum were out for a drive | :15:49. | :15:55.
at about half 12. She left the car and started talking to this man on | :15:56. | :16:01.
the bridge. Got no shoes on. It was cold and raining and I was like | :16:02. | :16:05.
what are you doing. He was like go away. I was like it is going | :16:06. | :16:11.
serious, you can't kill yourself. . She roll her trousers legs, she said | :16:12. | :16:16.
have you seen my feet, there dab days -- have been days I couldn t | :16:17. | :16:22.
walk, because I took the skin off my feet. Was a real eye opener. She | :16:23. | :16:30.
said if my life was saved to save somebody's life that was a life | :16:31. | :16:42.
worth giving. You've got this demon inside of you, but it gets better. | :16:43. | :16:46.
There is so much hope in the world. The world is a beautiful place. | :16:47. | :16:51.
You've just got to see it. Even if all the colours have gone, you've | :16:52. | :16:55.
just got to think, they will come back. I hope people watching this | :16:56. | :16:59.
will be inspired by Khloe and have the will to understand that somebody | :17:00. | :17:04.
has done it and can get better. It is so nice, isn't it. She's | :17:05. | :17:10.
beautiful. She's really beautiful. This is BBC One. | :17:11. | :17:17.
It's not everyday that you are just getting on with your work, and the | :17:18. | :17:21.
next thing, Professor Green is standing next year. Hello, | :17:22. | :17:24.
everybody. Is there standing next year. Hello, | :17:25. | :17:33.
anywhere? Hello, Khloe. I am here to present you your invite to the Teen | :17:34. | :17:38.
Awards, because congratulations you are Teen Hero of 2013. I have got a | :17:39. | :17:48.
bit of a tear in my eye! You are going to make Fearne Cotton cried, | :17:49. | :17:54.
and I am going to cry! Can we have some congratulations for Khloe, | :17:55. | :17:59.
please. Khloe, you are at work, doing your thing, and the next thing | :18:00. | :18:04.
you know, Professor Green steps out and gives you an award. I looked up | :18:05. | :18:09.
and I was like, no, and then I was like, yes. You are so well deserving | :18:10. | :18:14.
of this, and we are so happy to give you this award. Well done, Khloe! | :18:15. | :18:17.

things as such a young age. I am looking forward to meeting you. I | :19:37. | :19:40.
want you to come to one of my shows, be in the audience, and then we can | :19:41. | :19:45.

some glass Hannibal Lecter paddock, so you are protected. | :19:51. | :19:53.
Congratulations, darling! You should be proud of yourself. Well done | :19:54. | :20:02.

I want to say hello to the teen heroes winner, I hope you guys have | :32:02. | :32:08.
a good time. Next our second teen hero of the night and a reminder of | :32:09. | :32:13.
why we are here. Here to introduce them is Gemma Cairney and Conor | :32:14. | :32:22.
Maynard everybody! Hello, hi. Oh my God! Our next teen | :32:23. | :32:44.
hero can't be with us tonight. But he is a truly amazing kid. He is | :32:45. | :32:49.
just 13 and he is well used to looking after others, in fact he is | :32:50. | :32:54.
a home career looking after his ill mother since he was 15 and although | :32:55. | :32:58.
he suffers from an illness that often leaves him in pain, despite | :32:59. | :33:02.
this, he has found the time to become a fund-raiser, helping raise | :33:03. | :33:08.
thousands for the poppy appeal. His passion in life is wile life and so | :33:09. | :33:14.
when it came to surprising Alexander there was only one man for the job. | :33:15. | :33:21.
A man who wrestles crocodiles and swims with great white sharks. Is he | :33:22. | :33:34.
OK? For a living. The one and only Steve | :33:35. | :33:42.
I'm standing in a scout hut in North Wales, about to surprise a special | :33:43. | :33:51.
13-year-old called Alexander. Due to health reasons, he can't come to | :33:52. | :33:56.
Wembley, but we know he is crazy about nature and animals. Hopefully | :33:57. | :33:59.
this surprise will put a massive smile on his face. He has been a | :34:00. | :34:05.
career for his moeshgs despite having -- mother, despite having | :34:06. | :34:11.
health problems himself. On a daily basis he has to take regular | :34:12. | :34:18.
medication, both for pain and for his allergies. I have a syndrome | :34:19. | :34:24.
which is my joints are loose. So my joints often go out of place every | :34:25. | :34:28.
day. I have been looking after my mum for about ten years now I think. | :34:29. | :34:34.
Helping her loading the washing machine, tidying around the house, | :34:35. | :34:38.
cleaning the dishes, looking after the animals, helping if anything | :34:39. | :34:46.
gets dropped. As my health has deteriorated, he has had to help me | :34:47. | :34:51.
with things like washing and getting dressed. Well other boys are out | :34:52. | :34:55.
playing football. He is at home caring for his mum. Doing the chores | :34:56. | :35:00.
and helping make sure she is safe and she has got everything she | :35:01. | :35:05.
needs. That is what makes him special for me and his mum. It | :35:06. | :35:10.
should make every child that does caring special. This is BBC Radio | :35:11. | :35:16.
one. Steve, are you ready to do the surprise for Alexander? He is one of | :35:17. | :35:22.
her teen heroes. You are in Rhyl and ready to go? Here we go. Hello you | :35:23. | :35:28.
all. I'm sorry, can I just stop you short for a second? I hate to come | :35:29. | :35:31.
in a and interrupt in the middle of your band practice. But you are at | :35:32. | :35:33.
the moment all your band practice. But you are at | :35:34. | :35:42.
are here to celebrate the 20 13 teen heroes award. Is there someone | :35:43. | :35:47.
called Alexander. Is that you? It is a privilege to meet you. I'm Steve | :35:48. | :35:55.
Backshall, I heard you are into animals and are a hero. The North | :35:56. | :36:01.

chance to be a zoo keeper for a day. How do you feel about that? OK. | :36:06. | :36:15.
There is one extra thing I heard you like owls. You're about to see one | :36:16. | :36:19.
closer than you ever have before. Can we bring in our extra surprise, | :36:20. | :36:25.
please? Do you know what this is? A barn owl. It is absolutely a barn | :36:26. | :36:32.
owl. He has just taken a big poo over my boots, to the general | :36:33. | :36:40.
amusele of -- amusement of everyone. You will get the chance to be a zoo | :36:41. | :36:45.
keeper. This a exciteling. Yes. Maybe you could take a giraffe home | :36:46. | :36:50.
with you. I don't think there will be enough grass in the garden. Thank | :36:51. | :36:56.
you for being one of our teen heroes this year. | :36:57. | :37:01.
Coming up on Radio One's Teen Awards: Performances from Fall Out | :37:02. | :37:12.

doing. What an amazing crowd. The winner for best British group is... | :38:08. | :38:20.
One Direction. Hi Wembley. We just found out that we have just won best | :38:21. | :38:27.
group award. Apparently we have to do a forfeit before we can get the | :38:28. | :38:31.
award. Let's see what they have come up with. It is called pig face. | :38:32. | :38:40.
Attach the clothe pegs to your faces. The one who gets the most | :38:41. | :38:45.
gets to accept the award. Where are the pegs? They are my mum's pegs. | :38:46. | :38:59.
Right. It really actually hurts I feel like I need to dribble. Take | :39:00. | :39:14.
them off slow. His lip's bleeding. Carry on. Rchgs so thank you to | :39:15. | :39:19.
everyone on Radio One and thank you to all our fans who voted for us to | :39:20. | :39:24.

will see you soon. Bye! Next we have one of America's finest rock bands. | :39:32. | :39:36.
What are you doing? I'm trying to tune my guitar. Can I help you? Are | :39:37. | :39:39.
you any good on the pretending at the moment. Shred it | :39:40. | :39:50.
for me. Hold on. I'm joking! Oh yeah! I mean I can do that too. I | :39:51. | :39:55.
used to play a bit. Are you ready for me? You're still shredding it | :39:56. | :40:02.
and you're not moving your hands. Go on. OK Wembley. Stupid ping. Oh I | :40:03. | :40:19.
hate that guitar. Here is Fall Out Boy! | :40:20. | :40:35.
# We are the lions # In poisoned places we are the beginning of the | :40:36. | :40:54.
end. # Tonight foxes hunt the hounds, it's all over now # Before | :40:55. | :41:05.
it has begun # We have already won. # we are like young volcanoes. # We | :41:06. | :41:32.

# We are wild, Americana, # Do you wanna feel a little | :43:00. | :43:02.
beautiful baby? # Yeah! | :43:03. | :44:04.
Yes! Road ladies and gentlemen, it's Wretch 32! And of course, Greg | :44:05. | :44:16.
James. Wembley Arena, it is a great honour to be here today to present | :44:17. | :44:21.
the final and third team hero award, to a young man whose relentless | :44:22. | :44:27.
campaigning against youth violence is an inspiration to us all. | :44:28. | :44:33.
Jeremiah is just 14 and knows too much about youth violence already, | :44:34. | :44:39.
having lost a friend. That doesn't stop him campaigning and making a | :44:40. | :44:43.
huge difference. He is a huge rap fan, so who better than Tinie Tempah | :44:44. | :44:58.
to surprise him live on radio one? Here we are at a school in south | :44:59. | :45:03.
London to meet an astonishing 14-year-old, who, after being | :45:04. | :45:08.
affected by youth violence, decided to speak out against it for his | :45:09. | :45:12.
community. We are here to invite him to collect his award at Wembley but | :45:13. | :45:18.
first, here's his story. It has come to the where youth violence has kind | :45:19. | :45:24.
of dissolved in society. A lot of people have forgotten that there are | :45:25. | :45:26.
people have forgotten that there such big problems going on. Knife | :45:27. | :45:33.
crime, gun crime, people being beaten up. Things to do with gangs. | :45:34. | :45:39.
We have 155 young teenagers being killed since 2000 alone. | :45:40. | :45:46.
We have 155 young teenagers being Jeremiah experienced it first hand | :45:47. | :45:47.
We have 155 young teenagers being with a friend of his. He was killed | :45:48. | :45:52.
outside a party in Wandsworth in February this year. I just decided I | :45:53. | :45:57.
had to do something. It was the eighth person I knew who had lost | :45:58. | :46:01.
their life. Jeremiah decided that he had to do something. The killing has | :46:02. | :46:08.
got to stop. He decided to set up a project, One Big Community. It is | :46:09. | :46:20.
for all the things that face young people. He is so determined. It is | :46:21. | :46:25.
not like he has to do it, but he wants to do it. Certain problems | :46:26. | :46:29.
will not stop. In the future, a lot of things will go wrong. We need to | :46:30. | :46:33.
stop certain problems before they come to the point where our futures | :46:34. | :46:37.
are affected. This is about stopping kids shooting and stabbing each | :46:38. | :46:41.
other. There is a real dark side to it. He still manages to do it with a | :46:42. | :46:54.
smile on his face, and he is a very, very genuine, warm, amazing young | :46:55. | :46:56.
person. Semi-things have happened where young people's voices were not | :46:57. | :46:58.
being heard. Nobody wanted to listen to us. He feels that the problems we | :46:59. | :47:03.
are suffering from in society, young people themselves hold the key to | :47:04. | :47:07.
unlocking the solutions, so the more young people who can hold -- you can | :47:08. | :47:13.
stand behind him the better. We are ecstatic he has won this award. If | :47:14. | :47:17.
you put passion into a certain thing that you want to change, those | :47:18. | :47:22.
things can happen. I think he is a special child. I have to say that. | :47:23. | :47:32.
He is a special child, I know that. This is BBC One. Right now, we are | :47:33. | :47:35.
going to cross over live to the location of one of our team hero 's. | :47:36. | :47:42.
Tinie Tempah is that there, about to surprise them, | :47:43. | :47:43.
Tinie Tempah is that there, about to that they are one of our Teen | :47:44. | :47:49.
Heroes. I'm about to surprise Jeremiah. Let's go. Good morning, | :47:50. | :47:54.
everyone. Is that Jeremiah? I am here with Radio 1. This is for you. | :47:55. | :48:03.
I have come personally with Radio 1 to give it to you. We have Nick | :48:04. | :48:08.
Grimshaw live on the radio. You are live on radio one. For what? You are | :48:09. | :48:14.
going to meet everybody performing. You are going to meet everybody in | :48:15. | :48:18.
the front row, and you are going to collect your award in front of | :48:19. | :48:25.
10,000 people. Good? Yes. Morning, Jeremiah. I am still in shock. Did | :48:26. | :48:31.
you have any inkling that you are going to win this? I had no idea. | :48:32. | :48:42.
What makes you think you have been nominated for this award? I think it | :48:43. | :48:51.
is founding One Big Community, which stands up for the youth violence. | :48:52. | :48:55.
You are going to collect this ward -- this award at the BBC Radio 's | :48:56. | :49:05.
Teen Awards, in front of 10,000 people. Wembley, he is an amazing | :49:06. | :49:10.
young man. Can we please give a very warm welcome to Jeremiah? | :49:11. | :49:28.
You are our third team hero. What is it like meeting Tinie Tempah? I was | :49:29. | :49:44.
so shocked. They put me on it like meeting Tinie Tempah? I was | :49:45. | :49:53.
day in school. If I knew he was coming, I would have got a shaved | :49:54. | :49:58.
cut! Jeremiah, how much does this mean to you right now that you have | :49:59. | :50:03.
got a team hero award? It means so much. I have to thank god. I have to | :50:04. | :50:09.
thank my mum. Without them, I wouldn't be on the stage right now. | :50:10. | :50:14.
My friends, my family, and the people who have worked with me. And | :50:15. | :50:18.
to all the young people who have lost their lives on the streets of | :50:19. | :50:22.
London due to youth violence. Jeremiah, you and the rest of the | :50:23. | :50:27.
Teen Heroes are the reason why we do this. Make some noise for our team | :50:28. | :50:35.
hero, Jeremiah! Our next award is for Best British Single, and here to | :50:36. | :50:41.
present our Scott meals and -- Scott Mills and Jameela Jamil! | :50:42. | :50:55.
Hello Wembley! Are you well? Hello! Teen Awards, I can tell you that the | :50:56. | :51:07.
winner of the Best British Single is... 1 Direction! Lads, we are on | :51:08. | :51:20.
again, we have won another award for Best British Single. Before we say | :51:21. | :51:23.
thank you, we've got to do another forfeit. Here we go. Where do they | :51:24. | :51:38.
keep appearing from? The forfeit. Extra oars. Whoever gets the short | :51:39. | :51:43.
straw must do the acceptance speech while the rest of the band spray | :51:44. | :51:47.
them with silly string. Do we have straws? | :51:48. | :51:51.
them with silly string. Do we have for a reason. What other chances | :51:52. | :51:58.
that the last one we pick is the short one? It is close, but you have | :51:59. | :52:05.
the short one. OK, we just want to say a massive thank you to | :52:06. | :52:10.
everybody. We love our fans, and this tastes disgusting! Thank you. | :52:11. | :52:16.
Sorry we couldn't be there! Wembley, we have nearly reached the | :52:17. | :52:22.
end. It has been emotional. Have you had an amazing time? It has been | :52:23. | :52:27.
really good. Please give it up for everybody, the winners and all the | :52:28. | :52:30.
amazing performance. Let's hear some noise! Can we make some noise for | :52:31. | :52:38.
our amazing co-host today, the wonderful, the beautiful, Rita Ora! | :52:39. | :52:46.
Incredible! Last but by no means least, please give one final extra | :52:47. | :52:50.
special cheer for our Teen Heroes of 2013. Make some noise! Can we make | :52:51. | :52:59.
some noise for Khloe, Alexander and Jeremiah in! And do not forget the | :53:00. | :53:05.
biggest winner tonight. Who? That winner is love! Release the doves. | :53:06. | :53:13.
Fly, my pretties! They are more like pigeons than doves. We are going to | :53:14. | :53:19.
leave you with one special performance. Wembley, you are in for | :53:20. | :53:24.
a treat. Get ready to bounce. It's Tinie Tempah! | :53:25. | :53:34.
