one of the greatest singer-songwriters of his time.

Tonight's show, a year since his passing,

0:00:420:00:46

will be an emotional tribute to a man who left us

0:00:460:00:49

a huge musical legacy.

0:00:490:00:51

Born in Paisley in 1947, his early influences came from

0:00:510:00:55

the world of rock and pop, but he drifted into folk music,

0:00:550:00:59

touring the folk clubs of Britain with Billy Connelly

0:00:590:01:02

in The Humblebums.

0:01:020:01:04

He then went on to work with Joe Egan in Stealers wheel.

0:01:040:01:08

# ..Clowns to the left of me Jokers to the right

0:01:080:01:11

# Here I am, Stuck in the middle with you... #

0:01:110:01:16

Major solo success followed from albums like City To City in 1978,

0:01:160:01:20

which included the career-defining song Baker Street.

0:01:200:01:24

Tragically, Gerry Rafferty died in January 2011, leaving a shocked

0:01:360:01:41

and saddened worldwide musical community behind him.

0:01:410:01:45

There's a full house in the Royal Concert Hall tonight

0:01:450:01:48

as we invite you to enjoy his musical legacy.

APPLAUSE

0:04:190:04:25

Well, thank you.

0:04:250:04:28

That was the opening song, Can I Have My Money Back,

0:04:280:04:31

the title track from Gerald's first album back in 1971.

0:04:310:04:36

And that album was made at a time when we were forming Stealers Wheel,

0:04:360:04:42

and we were all living in a house together in Sandhurst Road

0:04:420:04:45

in Tunbridge Wells.

0:04:450:04:48

And there was a very small person who was moving around the house

0:04:480:04:51

at that time, and that was Martha, who is with me here.

0:04:510:04:56

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:04:560:04:58

We'd like to think of this as a commemoration, yes,

0:05:010:05:05

but a celebration as well of the life and work of Gerry Rafferty.

0:05:050:05:09

APPLAUSE

0:05:090:05:14

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage The Proclaimers.

0:05:230:05:27

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:05:270:05:31

# Oh, Mattie, open up the door

0:06:000:06:05

# That's right, I'm home again

0:06:050:06:08

# You've got a big surprise in store,

0:06:080:06:12

# Turn round and count to ten

0:06:120:06:16

# Wait till you see what I got you

0:06:160:06:19

# Well, you'll say it's a magic thing

0:06:190:06:22

# It's like an old mandolin man

0:06:220:06:26

# You just wind him up And he'll start to sing

0:06:260:06:30

# I've been away for quite a while

0:06:300:06:34

# And I want to hear all your news

0:06:340:06:38

# Speak to me, let me see you smile

0:06:380:06:42

# Cos I've had those homesick blues

0:06:420:06:45

# When I go down to the city

0:06:450:06:49

# I just don't know wrong from right

0:06:490:06:53

# When I get back to you, Mattie

0:06:530:06:57

# Well, you make me see the light

0:06:570:07:00

# Love is a singular thing

0:07:160:07:19

# It can take you up Or bring you down

0:07:190:07:23

# There's love in the song that I sing

0:07:230:07:26

# So come on now, Mattie Listen to this sound

0:07:260:07:30

# When you grow up We'll sit and talk

0:07:300:07:35

Of how things used to be

0:07:350:07:38

# I'll be a grand old man of rock

0:07:380:07:42

# With all these memories

0:07:420:07:45

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:08:330:08:35

-Thank you very much.

-Thank YOU!

0:08:350:08:39

The Proclaimers, everybody.

0:08:390:08:40

Rab and Jerry and I were very good friends, Billy Connolly.

0:08:400:08:45

And particularly there was a hard-core of about

0:08:450:08:47

six or seven of us who used to travel around in Scotland

0:08:470:08:51

and make music together unofficially

0:08:510:08:54

This thing we're doing tonight,

0:08:540:08:56

we kind of did that in an informal way,

0:08:560:08:58

sitting with our backs against a wall,

0:08:580:09:00

sitting on the floor in people's houses,

0:09:000:09:02

singing in three-part harmony.

0:09:020:09:04

We kind of grew up on that kind of thing.

0:09:040:09:07

This is brilliant, being here.

0:09:090:09:11

A roomful of Gerry Rafferty fans.

0:09:110:09:14

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:09:140:09:16

Thank you very much.

0:09:190:09:20

You know, I'd swap every single thing

0:09:200:09:22

to have him sitting in the front row.

0:09:220:09:24

APPLAUSE

0:09:240:09:27

Thank you very much. This is a song Martha asked me

0:09:270:09:30

if I would sing tonight.

0:09:300:09:32

# Well, we sit in empty rooms And dream our lives away

0:10:040:10:10

# While the spirits come and go Without a sound

0:10:100:10:16

# And just like you and me They're tryin' to find the way

0:10:160:10:21

# Find the way, find the way home

0:10:210:10:27

# There's a full moon in the sky But that don't worry me

0:10:300:10:36

# I don't ever hang my soul Out on the line

0:10:360:10:42

# When the witchin' hour comes I always fly away

0:10:420:10:47

# Fly away, fly away home

0:10:470:10:52

# There's a light in the city That comes down from above

0:10:550:11:00

# Leavin' you as wise as a serpent Harmless as a dove

0:11:000:11:06

# Don't blow your tomorrows Don't throw away your love

0:11:060:11:12

# You've got to be as wise as a serpent, harmless as a dove

0:11:120:11:20

# Now you once asked me Why we can't communicate

0:11:530:11:58

# But it doesn't always pay to tell the truth

0:11:580:12:04

# And if I told you right now You'd only run away

0:12:040:12:09

# Run away, run away home

0:12:090:12:16

# So we sit in empty rooms And dream our lives away

0:12:180:12:22

# While the spirits come and go Without a sound

0:12:220:12:29

# Yeah, just like you and me They're tryin' to find the way

0:12:290:12:34

# Find the way, find the way home

0:12:340:12:40

# There's a light in the city That comes down from above

0:12:420:12:48

# Leavin' you as wise as a serpent Harmless as a dove

0:12:480:12:54

# Don't blow your tomorrows Don't throw away your love

0:12:540:12:59

# You've got to be as wise as a serpent, harmless as a dove

0:12:590:13:07

# Ooh... Oh-oh. #

0:13:180:13:25

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:13:370:13:42

I was in high school and it was this sort of period in music where

0:13:450:13:50

there was a lot of bad music on the radio, you know.

0:13:500:13:52

And then Gerry was one of...

0:13:520:13:54

you know, I would hear Baker Street and Right Down The Line,

0:13:540:13:57

and I always liked melodic music, so that appealed to me, right?

0:13:570:14:02

So I was curious about him

0:14:020:14:03

and then I didn't realise at the time that he was also

0:14:030:14:06

the guy from Stealers Wheel as well

0:14:060:14:08

and, of course, I heard that song growing up a lot, too.

0:14:080:14:11

But it was just one of those... I was just sort of drawn to it, you know.

0:14:110:14:16

Right Down The Line has always been my favourite song by Gerry Rafferty,

0:14:160:14:20

so that was one of the ones when they first asked me,

0:14:200:14:23

I was like, "I hope that's not taken."

0:14:230:14:25

# You know I need your love

0:14:540:14:57

# You got that hold on me

0:14:570:15:02

# As long as I got your love

0:15:020:15:04

# You know that I'll never leave

0:15:040:15:08

#When I wanted you to share my life

0:15:080:15:12

# I had no doubt in my mind

0:15:120:15:15

# It's been you, woman

0:15:150:15:20

# Right down the line

0:15:200:15:23

# I know the way I lean on you

0:15:260:15:29

# Only you can see

0:15:290:15:32

# The changes that I've been through

0:15:320:15:37

# Have left their mark on me

0:15:370:15:40

# You've been as constant as the Northern Star

0:15:400:15:43

# The brightest light that shines

0:15:430:15:47

# It's been you, woman

0:15:470:15:51

# Right down the line

0:15:510:15:55

# I just wanna say This is my way of telling you

0:15:580:16:04

# Everything I could never say before

0:16:040:16:09

# Yeah, this is my way of telling you Every day I'm loving you

0:16:120:16:21

# Cos you believed in me Through my darkest night

0:16:210:16:29

# Put something better inside of me

0:16:290:16:33

# You brought me into the light

0:16:330:16:38

# Threw away all those crazy dreams

0:16:380:16:41

# I put them all behind

0:16:410:16:43

# It's been you, woman

0:16:430:16:48

# Right down the line

0:16:480:16:52

# I just wanna say

0:17:260:17:30

# This is my way of telling you

0:17:300:17:34

# Everything I could never say before

0:17:340:17:39

# Yeah, this is my way of telling you

0:17:410:17:47

# Every day I'm loving you So much more

0:17:470:17:52

# If I should doubt myself

0:17:520:17:55

# If I'm losing ground

0:17:550:17:58

# I won't turn to someone else

0:17:580:18:02

# They'd only let me down

0:18:020:18:06

# When I wanted you to share my life

0:18:060:18:09

# I had no doubt in my mind

0:18:090:18:12

# It's been you, woman

0:18:120:18:17

# Right down the line

0:18:170:18:20

# Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

0:18:240:18:31

# Ooh, ooh, ooh

0:18:310:18:36

# Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

0:18:380:18:45

# Ooh, ooh

0:18:450:18:48

# You got a hold on me

0:18:480:18:50

# Right down the line. #

0:18:520:18:56

APPLAUSE

0:18:560:19:01

Thank you very much!

0:19:010:19:02

Thank you.

0:19:030:19:04

Martha, Gerry's daughter, and I

0:19:060:19:09

had a discussion at Gerry's funeral, after the funeral last January.

0:19:090:19:15

about how we should preserve some kind of legacy,

0:19:150:19:20

'and the idea came around to it being something based around his songs, really,

0:19:200:19:24

'because the songs were what Gerry Rafferty lived for,

0:19:240:19:28

'that was his artwork,'

0:19:280:19:29

and he expressed himself greatly through songs.

0:19:290:19:33

And so, building a concert around his work

0:19:330:19:37

and inviting a number of interesting artists to come and perform them

0:19:370:19:41

was the order of the day.

0:19:410:19:43

# Moonlight and gold

0:20:370:20:40

# Midsummer magic when the night meets the day

0:20:420:20:48

# And songbirds greet the dawn

0:20:480:20:53

# You lie awake

0:20:550:20:57

# You watch and wonder while the moon fades away

0:20:590:21:05

# And one more day is born

0:21:050:21:09

# Tides keep on turning

0:21:110:21:15

# While hearts keep on yearning

0:21:150:21:20

# To be where they know they belong

0:21:200:21:27

# All on a new day

0:21:290:21:32

# You'll see in a new way

0:21:320:21:37

# The things you've been leaning upon

0:21:370:21:44

# Moonlight and gold

0:21:510:21:54

# I will awaken to a love

0:21:550:22:00

# That runs deeper than the need in me

0:22:000:22:06

# While you are sleeping

0:22:420:22:46

# The new day comes creeping

0:22:460:22:50

# And life keeps on passing you by

0:22:500:22:57

# Magic unfolds

0:22:590:23:02

# When the blue meets the gold

0:23:020:23:06

# And the sun comes to open your eyes

0:23:060:23:14

# Moonlight and gold

0:23:210:23:24

# Midsummer magic as the night turns to day

0:23:250:23:32

# And songbirds greet the dawn

0:23:320:23:36

# You lie awake

0:23:380:23:42

# You watch and wonder

0:23:420:23:45

# While the moon fades away

0:23:450:23:49

# And one more day is born

0:23:490:23:53

# Moonlight and gold. #

0:24:290:24:35

CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:24:350:24:39

Thank you!

0:24:390:24:40

Anybody who knew Gerry and knew his work would know

0:24:470:24:50

that harmony was very important to him, was very important

0:24:500:24:55

in the music that he made, but it was also a very important thing,

0:24:550:24:58

spiritually and inwardly.

0:24:580:25:01

And he grew up with two brothers,

0:25:010:25:04

Gerry's brothers were called Jim, the next one,

0:25:040:25:07

and then Joey was the eldest one.

0:25:070:25:10

And Joey and his wife Moira had five children,

0:25:100:25:13

and they're all here tonight to sing for you, in harmony,

0:25:130:25:17

with Martha. Please welcome.

0:25:170:25:20

APPLAUSE

0:25:200:25:23

# When we were young we used to sing

0:25:450:25:50

# We could feel the harmony

0:25:520:25:57

# You'd sit there waiting in the wings

0:25:580:26:03

# How long have you been waiting

0:26:030:26:08

# To let your light shine?

0:26:080:26:12

# Many years have gone since then

0:26:120:26:16

# Seen us go our different ways

0:26:190:26:23

# But now we sit here once again

0:26:250:26:30

# Tonight we're gonna sing out

0:26:300:26:34

# Tonight our light will shine

0:26:340:26:40

# This is the time and place

0:26:400:26:44

# To bring out our memories

0:26:470:26:52

# It's written on every face

0:26:540:26:58

# I can see it in you

0:26:580:27:01

# You can see it in me

0:27:010:27:05

# In all the years we had

0:27:070:27:11

# As part of a family tree

0:27:140:27:17

# We knew the good and bad

0:27:200:27:23

# I can see it in you

# You can see it in me

0:27:260:27:30

# I know it's left its mark on you

0:27:360:27:40

# I see the same things in myself

0:27:430:27:47

# You know there's nothing we can't do

0:27:490:27:54

# We've been a long time waiting

0:27:550:27:59

# But some things never die

0:27:590:28:03

# It's time to leave all that behind

0:28:030:28:07

# It's time to lay that ghost to rest

0:28:090:28:14

# We can't deny the ties that bind

0:28:150:28:20

# Tonight we're gonna sing out

0:28:210:28:24

# Tonight our light will shine

0:28:240:28:30

# This is the time and place

0:28:310:28:34

# To bring out our memories

0:28:370:28:41

# It's written on every face

0:28:440:28:47

# I can see it in you

0:28:470:28:50

# You can see it in me

0:28:500:28:54

# In all the years we had

0:28:570:29:00

# When we were young we used to sing

0:29:000:29:03

# As part of a family tree

0:29:030:29:06

# We could feel the harmony

0:29:060:29:10

# We knew the good and bad

0:29:100:29:13

# I can see it in you

0:29:130:29:16

# You can see it in me

I think everybody is aware of Gerry's music.

0:29:430:29:46

I was saying that earlier - the thing with his songs

0:29:460:29:49

is that everybody's aware, but people don't realise

0:29:490:29:52

that they're his songs.

0:29:520:29:53

And I was in that camp - obviously, I'm aware of Baker Street

0:29:530:29:57

and you know, just everybody knows certain songs,

0:29:570:30:01

but I... Even the fact that he was in Stealers Wheel,

0:30:010:30:05

I was aware of it, but you don't really think about it,

0:30:050:30:08

you just realise, you look at the breadth of the work and it's staggering,

0:30:080:30:11

the man has written some incredible songs that are indelible,

0:30:110:30:15

they'll be for ever.

0:30:150:30:16

# Well, here I am

0:30:520:30:54

# Back in town

0:30:560:30:59

# Just as the night

0:31:000:31:02

# Is coming down

0:31:030:31:07

# Warm wind blowing

0:31:080:31:10

# Through the trees

0:31:110:31:13

# I watch them swing

0:31:140:31:16

# I watch them sway

0:31:160:31:18

# Lie here waiting for the day

0:31:180:31:23

# Hey, yeah

0:31:250:31:26

# Sleep won't come

0:31:290:31:32

# I need a drink

0:31:330:31:35

# To stop my head

0:31:370:31:38

# Don't wanna think

0:31:400:31:42

# Wishing I was here with you

0:31:440:31:49

# But I know you're so far away

0:31:510:31:55

# And I'm here waiting for the day

0:31:550:32:00

# Hey, yeah

0:32:020:32:04

# Water of life

0:32:060:32:09

# Lay your light down on me

0:32:090:32:12

# Take me out of the darkness

0:32:120:32:17

# Sweet star of the sea

0:32:170:32:19

# Water so sweet

0:32:200:32:23

# You can open my eyes

0:32:230:32:27

# You can bring down the rain

0:32:270:32:30

# On this desert so dry

0:32:300:32:35

# Out on the street

0:32:410:32:43

# It's dark and cold

0:32:440:32:46

# Silence speaks

0:32:480:32:50

# I hear it call

0:32:520:32:54

# The city of

0:32:550:32:57

# The living dead

0:32:590:33:02

# Count the lights on the motorway

0:33:020:33:06

# And I'm here waiting for the day

0:33:060:33:11

# Hey, yeah

0:33:120:33:15

# Water of life

0:33:540:33:57

# Pour your light down on me

0:33:570:34:00

# Take me out of the darkness

0:34:000:34:04

0:34:040:34:07

# Water so sweet

0:34:090:34:12

# You can bring down the rain

0:34:150:34:19

# On this desert so dry

0:34:190:34:24

# Yes, here I am

0:34:280:34:32

# Back in town

0:34:320:34:34

# Just as the night

0:34:360:34:38

# Is coming down

0:34:400:34:42

# Warm wind blowing

0:34:430:34:45

# Through the trees

0:34:470:34:49

# I watch them swing

0:34:500:34:53

# I watch them sway

0:34:530:34:54

# Lie here waiting for the day

0:34:540:34:59

# Yeah, yeah

0:35:010:35:03

# All right!

0:35:050:35:06

# All right!

0:35:450:35:46

This is one of the songs that kind of...you know, made me want

0:35:490:35:54

to do this for a living

0:35:540:35:56

so it's cool that I get to do that once in a while.

0:35:560:35:58

# You still got that light in your eye

0:36:130:36:18

# Our day is comin' by and by

0:36:200:36:25

# I'm travellin' this long road here with you

0:36:270:36:34

# We still gotta long way We still gotta long way to go

0:36:340:36:39

# The first time I set eyes on you

0:37:080:37:12

# And I listened to you sing Yeah, yeah

0:37:120:37:16

# We didn't have to speak for the words said everything

0:37:160:37:23

# Then you walked into my life

0:37:230:37:27

# And we were on our way, yeah

0:37:270:37:30

# So long ago But it seems like yesterday

0:37:310:37:36

# I just wanna tell you...

0:37:360:37:38

# You still got that light in your eye

0:37:380:37:43

# Yes, you do

0:37:430:37:45

# Our day is comin' by and by

0:37:450:37:50

# I'm travellin' this long road here with you

0:37:530:38:01

# We still gotta long way We still gotta long way to go

0:38:010:38:05

# Now some of my best memories

0:38:080:38:11

# Are days I spent with you Yeah, yeah

0:38:110:38:16

# Each time we hit the road it was always somethin' new

0:38:160:38:21

# Spaced out on another drunk

0:38:230:38:27

# And singin' in the sun, yeah, yeah

0:38:270:38:30

# Another bottle dead and a new day just begun

0:38:310:38:35

# I just wanna tell you...

0:38:350:38:38

# You still got that light in your eye

0:38:380:38:42

# Yes, you do

0:38:440:38:45

# And our day is comin' by and by

0:38:450:38:50

# I'm travellin' this long road to be with you

0:38:530:39:00

# We still gotta long way We still gotta long way to go

0:39:000:39:05

# Shinin' light, shinin' bright on the days gone down

0:39:050:39:09

# Shinin' light, shinin' bright on the days gone down

0:39:110:39:17

# Shinin' light, shinin' bright on the days gone down

0:39:190:39:24

# We won't forget the days gone down

0:39:340:39:38

# They're written in our hearts Yeah, yeah

0:39:380:39:41

# And we're as much in tune as we were right at the start

0:39:410:39:48

# All seems so much harder now

0:39:490:39:53

# It seemed so easy then, yeah, yeah

0:39:530:39:56

# Maybe someday just for fun we might do it all again

0:39:560:40:01

# I just wanna tell you...

0:40:010:40:03

# You still got that light in your eye

0:40:030:40:08

# Yes, you do

0:40:080:40:10

# And our day is comin' by and by

0:40:120:40:17

# I'm travellin' this long road here with you

0:40:190:40:26

0:40:260:40:31

0:40:350:40:40

-# Still got that light in your eye

-Yeah, yeah

0:40:490:40:54

-# Our day is comin' by and by

-Yeah, yeah

0:40:560:41:03

-# I'm travellin', travellin' with you

-Yeah, yeah

0:41:040:41:09

# Still got that light in your eye

0:41:150:41:20

# And our day is comin' by and by

0:41:230:41:28

# Travel this long round here with you

0:41:300:41:36

# We still gotta long way We still gotta long way to go. #

APPLAUSE

0:41:460:41:49

Thank you very much!

0:41:490:41:51

How well do you think Gerry Rafferty will continue to be appreciated?

0:41:520:41:57

I think he'll be more appreciated with the distance of time.

0:41:570:42:02

I think if you've got songs that really survive and the quality

0:42:020:42:05

running through it,

0:42:050:42:06

I think those ones tend to be better appreciated as the years go by.

0:42:060:42:10

I think his work will stand the test of time.

0:42:100:42:12

# Now the night train is waitin'

0:42:300:42:34

# To take me away

0:42:340:42:36

# And I'm still feelin' guilty cos you're wanting me to stay

0:42:360:42:43

# Well, I know, how I know

0:42:440:42:46

# It's harder on you

0:42:480:42:52

# But you said it yourself There's nothing else we could do

0:42:520:42:56

# When the wheels start turnin'

0:42:580:43:01

# Takin' me through the night

0:43:010:43:05

# Out there in the darkness There's a star shinin' bright

0:43:060:43:13

# And it makes me feel better

0:43:130:43:16

# Just to see it up there

0:43:160:43:20

# I hope you're thinkin' about it hope you know I still care

0:43:200:43:25

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:43:270:43:30

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:43:300:43:34

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:43:340:43:37

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:43:370:43:42

# Well, I know you've been waiting

0:43:440:43:48

# But I'll be seeing you soon

0:43:480:43:51

# Meanwhile I just lay here staring at the moon

0:43:510:43:59

# And a light made of silver

0:43:590:44:02

# Through my window it creeps

0:44:020:44:06

# And the train keeps on rollin' and it just rocks me to sleep

0:44:060:44:10

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:44:130:44:16

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:44:160:44:20

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:44:200:44:23

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:44:230:44:28

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:45:020:45:05

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:45:050:45:08

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:45:080:45:12

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:45:120:45:16

# From city to city, it's 400 miles

0:45:180:45:26

# And I'm bound to wake up every once in a while

0:45:260:45:33

# And it's then that I call out To some higher power

0:45:330:45:41

# And then I'll go back to sleep Cos I'll be home in an hour

0:45:410:45:45

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:45:460:45:51

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:45:510:45:55

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:45:580:46:02

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:46:020:46:06

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:46:060:46:09

# So goodnight, yeah, goodnight

0:46:090:46:12

# Goodnight train is gonna carry me home

0:46:120:46:16

# I'm going home Good night

0:46:170:46:21

# I'm going home Good night

0:46:210:46:25

# I'm going home Good night

0:46:250:46:28

# I'm going home Good night

I've been charged with singing his biggest hit, Baker Street

0:47:020:47:07

so I don't know...

0:47:070:47:08

I sang it last year at the Celtic Connections

0:47:080:47:11

with the Transatlantic Sessions live tour because Gerry

0:47:110:47:14

had just passed on a few weeks before that

0:47:140:47:18

and so we decided to sing it on tour

0:47:180:47:21

so I think they came back to me to do it again.

0:47:210:47:23

# Winding your way down on Baker Street

0:48:220:48:26

# Light in your head and dead on your feet

0:48:260:48:30

# Well, another crazy day You drink the night away

0:48:300:48:34

# And forget about everything

0:48:340:48:37

# This city desert makes you feel so cold

0:48:390:48:43

# It's got so many people but it's got no soul

0:48:430:48:47

# And it's taken you so long to find out you were wrong

0:48:470:48:51

# When you thought it held everything

0:48:510:48:55

# You used to think that it was so easy

0:48:560:49:00

# You used to say that it was so easy

0:49:000:49:04

# But you're tryin' You're tryin' now

0:49:040:49:10

# Another year and then you'd be happy

0:49:130:49:18

# Just one more year and then you'd be happy

0:49:180:49:21

# But you're cryin' You're cryin' now

0:49:210:49:28

# Way down the street there's a lad in his place

0:50:040:50:08

# He opens the door He's got that look on his face

0:50:080:50:12

# And he asks you where you've been

0:50:120:50:14

# You tell him who you've seen And you talk about anything

0:50:140:50:20

# He's got this dream about buyin' some land

0:50:210:50:25

# He's gonna give up the booze and the one night stands

0:50:250:50:29

# And then he'll settle down It's a quiet little town

0:50:290:50:33

# And forget about everything

0:50:330:50:37

# But you know he'll always keep movin'

0:50:390:50:43

# You know he's never gonna stop movin'

0:50:430:50:47

# Cos he's rollin' He's the rolling stone

0:50:470:50:53

# And when you wake up it's a new mornin'

0:50:550:50:59

# The sun is shining it's a new mornin'

0:50:590:51:03

# And you're going You're going home. #

0:54:150:54:17

OK, I'm going to welcome as many people back on to this stage

0:54:290:54:32

as want to come back, which will be everybody, for the final song.

0:54:320:54:36

Could everybody come back on? Two at a time, three at a time, whatever!

# Here I am Stuck in the middle with you

0:55:340:55:37

# Yes, I'm stuck in the middle with you

0:55:380:55:42

# And I'm wondering what it is I should do

0:55:420:55:46

# It's so hard to keep the smile from my face

0:55:460:55:50

# Losing control Yeah, I'm all over the place

0:55:500:55:55

# Clowns to the left of me Jokers to the right

0:55:550:55:59

# Here I am Stuck in the middle with you

0:55:590:56:02

# Well, you started out with nothing

0:56:030:56:06

# And you're proud that you're a self-made man

0:56:060:56:09

# And your friends they all come crawlin'

0:56:100:56:13

# Slap you on the back and say

0:56:130:56:15

# Please...

0:56:150:56:19

# Please

0:56:190:56:22

# I'm trying to make some sense of it all

0:56:300:56:33

# But I can see that it makes no sense at all

0:56:330:56:38

# Is it cool to go to sleep on the floor?

0:56:380:56:41

# I don't think that I can take any more

0:56:410:56:46

# Clowns to the left of me Jokers to the right
