Good evening everybody. We are live with you for the next hour or so

from the heart of London, just a stone's throw from Big Ben, counting

down to the new year. I'm about to head inside, join my band and 2,000

very noisy people. Before the music starts, Susanna Reid reed is down on

the embankment with thousands of party goers ready to tell us what

happens when the clock strikes midnight.

Thank you very much indeed. Yes, I'm down here on the embankment, where

we are expecting the most spectacular fireworks display, when

the clock, Big Ben, strikes midnight. I can report that the

crowd are in great spirits. Let's go and talk to some of them now. Good

evening, where have you come down from? Stoke. From Stoke. You came

early, didn't you? Yes. We've been here since 10. 45am. You've braved

the rain. Luckily, it's good weather now. I can tell you that there is

going to be a multisensory experience when it comes to the

fireworks tonight. Here are the details: The crowd will taste

strawberries when the fireworks go red. There will be a whiff of apple

in the air when the fireworks go green. There will be giant fruits

projected on the Shell building. There will be bubbles in the air

with the tang of orange, snow that tastes of peach and banana-flavoured

confetti. It sounds like a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate

Factory. Are you looking forward to it?
