Glastonbury. We are here, Sunday afternoon, day 3. We very much saved

:00:46.:00:51.

the best to last. There is a certain lady in white in the Pyramid Stage.

:00:52.:00:56.

Dolly Parton is tearing it up. The crowd for her is huge. We will bring

:00:57.:01:01.

you her set in its entirety on this programme. She is coming up in a

:01:02.:01:05.

short while. We have lots to keep you entertained. Paul Heaton and

:01:06.:01:13.

Jacqui Abbott are here singing their new single and a duet in tribute to

:01:14.:01:17.

Dolly par ton. I wonder what it could be? And the ever-affable and

:01:18.:01:29.

joyful sheerian is here. He has sent a message to my children. -- Ed

:01:37.:01:40.

story so far. # I have never dreamed it

The story so far at Glastonbury 2014. Lovely day here today. What a

:02:48.:02:51.

lovely day. What has been your highlight so far today? I don't want

:02:52.:02:56.

to show off but I met Dolly Parton, it was amazing. I found an ice-cream

:02:57.:03:02.

van for cheese. You can get fondue fries and I found a castle that

:03:03.:03:06.

serves garlic bread. A garlic bread castle. That was remarkable rather

:03:07.:03:11.

than exceptional. I'm pleased for you as a friend. It is your

:03:12.:03:15.

birthday. I want you to have a good time I went to see Three Daft

:03:16.:03:21.

Monkeys on the Avalon stage. But an ice-cream van for cheese. It is

:03:22.:03:24.

something I have been waiting Forestieri many years. We should

:03:25.:03:28.

hook up with Dolly and take her to it. That white catsuit, idol to go

:03:29.:03:38.

council mud-splattered walk-ways. Should we get to some music? The

:03:39.:03:44.

festivities opened this morning with English National Ballet and it was

:03:45.:03:49.

joyous sound and music from Caro Emerald leading up to Dolly day.

:03:50.:04:16.

# I took the perfect avenue, down the road to both of you

:04:17.:04:21.

# With all the money in the world # You could never buy this girl

:04:22.:04:30.

# If romancing me with neons is something you should do

:04:31.:04:40.

# May the letters write in luminous, in-lou

:04:41.:04:45.

# You could be breaking up, making up

:04:46.:04:51.

# With all this tragedy, don?t get me tangled up

:04:52.:05:15.

# To me you?re acting like you?re twins

:05:16.:05:18.

# I want to see emotions colouring the sky

:05:19.:05:38.

# To the point it will make me wanna cry

:05:39.:05:42.

# You could be breaking up, making up

:05:43.:05:50.

# With all this tragedy don't get me tangled up

:05:51.:06:15.

# Treating girls like a yo-yo is a no no of monumental kind

:06:16.:06:26.

# If playing with your string had lanced to be your thing

:06:27.:06:30.

# It's easy to say to both oh never mind

:06:31.:06:33.

# You could be breaking up, making up

:06:34.:06:42.

# You can't be faking it # Making it from my love

:06:43.:06:48.

# With all this tragedy, don?t get me tangled up

:06:49.:07:01.

# You could be breaking up, making up

:07:02.:07:02.

# You can't be faking it # Making it from my love

:07:03.:07:07.

# With all this tragedy, don't get me tangled up

groove. I like it. Contemporary smooth. That was after the ballet. I

:07:15.:07:52.

wasn't here in time for the ballet. You saw that. We played it out on

:07:53.:07:57.

the early show, the lunchtime show here on BBC Two. I almost burst into

:07:58.:08:02.

tears. I had to stopwatching. It was really affecting. Apparently the

:08:03.:08:05.

dancers were not sure anybody would turn up. The crowd was huge.

:08:06.:08:09.

Transfixed and then went crazy afterwards. It was amazing. A proper

:08:10.:08:14.

moment. A precedent was set when we had the opera to kick off the Sunday

:08:15.:08:18.

morning a couple of years ago. We will show you some of the ballet

:08:19.:08:22.

later. We are building up to Dolly. We have Paul and Jacqui coming to

:08:23.:08:26.

ginning for us live and what a joy, someone who is hot-footing it from

:08:27.:08:31.

our encampment back over to the Pyramid Stage to perform live but he

:08:32.:08:36.

is here to give us an exclusive acoustic preview. It is only Ed

:08:37.:08:38.

Sheeran. # When your legs don't work

:12:20.:12:38.

feeling about the gig? I mean I have to follow Dolly. Not adeal, but it

:12:39.:12:42.

will be fun. Fingers crossed. Good luck. If it is any consolation, we

:12:43.:12:46.

heard that we think your album is number one, and definitely the

:12:47.:12:50.

biggest-selling Album of the Year, this year, so you have sold more

:12:51.:12:56.

records than she has. This week. Congratulations. Thank you so much.

:12:57.:12:59.

Thank you very much. Ed Sheeran everybody. Thank you to

:13:00.:13:04.

Ed for joining us before he goes on stage on the Pyramid Stage. We will

:13:05.:13:08.

catch up with our lovely Gemma now. She is out and about in the field.

:13:09.:13:17.

Aw, how lovely. A rare moment of solace in the fields of Avalon

:13:18.:13:21.

chilling out on Dolly Parton Sunday. Family vibe. A place for some real

:13:22.:13:32.

peace and quiet. Unless you are accompanied by a Mariachis band that

:13:33.:13:38.

is. Oh, she's irrepressible. What is she

:13:39.:14:12.

like? I like that Mariachis music. I went to see them. That's one of my

:14:13.:14:17.

favourite areas on the site. The Avalon. We have a timber-framed

:14:18.:14:21.

double-decker pub and a lovely cafe in the Avalon stage and I saw Three

:14:22.:14:28.

Daft Monkeys. The Mariachis were on but I had to come here and rehearse

:14:29.:14:32.

although it doesn't appear to have made much difference. Oh, well, we

:14:33.:14:36.

are free-wheeling towards Dolly. It doesn't matter what we do. We have

:14:37.:14:42.

Dolly, live music coming up. Paul and Jacqui will be here after this

:14:43.:14:45.

next thing. This is the band who had a good slot. The weather was great

:14:46.:14:49.

today. They were in the slot before Dolly Parton on the Pyramid Stage.

:14:50.:14:53.

It worked out nicely for them. These are the 1975.

:14:54.:15:12.

# Hey now call it a split 'cause you know that you will

:15:13.:15:17.

:17:05.:17:11.

:17:12.:17:12.

at school at Wilmslow High with my eldest daughter. Really? Yes. We are

:18:31.:18:37.

going to bring you some of that moving performance we were talking

:18:38.:18:41.

about the English National Ballet. They came to Glastonbury with a

:18:42.:18:46.

piece specially commissioned to mark the fact that 100 years yesterday

:18:47.:18:51.

that arch Duke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated and resulting in the

:18:52.:18:54.

fist world war. This is a rather moving piece. We have a film to tell

:18:55.:18:59.

you more about what the ENB were doing at Glastonbury this year.

:19:00.:19:07.

The reason I started dancing was because of music. You know, Michael

:19:08.:19:11.

Jackson. You would put a record on and I started dancing. That's why

:19:12.:19:15.

Glastonbury is so special. It is fantastic music everyone can listen

:19:16.:19:20.

to. Of course I knew about Glastonbury, always, but I never

:19:21.:19:24.

thought I would get to perform on that stage. All of us, as dancers,

:19:25.:19:29.

are, of course, huge music fans. We wouldn't be dancing if it weren't

:19:30.:19:34.

for music. We are all excited. Off the Richter scale excited. As an

:19:35.:19:39.

English girl, growing up, I see it year after year, it is such an

:19:40.:19:45.

exciting thing to be a part of. The English National Ballet are

:19:46.:19:48.

performing a piece called Dust, based on the First World War to show

:19:49.:19:52.

the strength of the women during that time. This was the fist time

:19:53.:19:56.

they got to go to the factories every day and prove that they could

:19:57.:20:01.

do what the men were doing. A lot of people, it will be their first time

:20:02.:20:05.

seeing ballet, which is really exciting. We are here to see what it

:20:06.:20:09.

is like. We have never seen a ballet, have we? It is going to be

:20:10.:20:13.

great to see culture. You never know, I might become a ballet fan

:20:14.:20:14.

after. APPLAUSE

:20:15.:21:37.

It was just very emotional. I got really emotional. It almost got me

:21:38.:21:42.

teary. We were both about to cry. We were crying before, after. We knew

:21:43.:21:46.

it was going to be incredible. But perhaps not quite so powerfully,

:21:47.:21:52.

breathtaking as it was. I will never forget that. There are certainp

:21:53.:21:55.

points in your career that are highlighted. This will be one. One

:21:56.:21:58.

of the best things I have seen at Glastonbury this week. It really was

:21:59.:22:04.

such a powerful performance, especially when you knew the two

:22:05.:22:09.

main dancers from that piece were husband and wife and have never

:22:10.:22:13.

danced together in a major production publicly. Is that right.

:22:14.:22:17.

It was beautiful and a fantastic audience. Wrapped attention. It

:22:18.:22:20.

really worked. A few months ago I organised a charity do up in

:22:21.:22:24.

Cheshire. Paul Heaton very kindly said he would come and sing a couple

:22:25.:22:28.

of songs. He phoned me a couple of weeks later said - I'm hooking with

:22:29.:22:33.

up Jacqui aboted do you -- Abbott. Do you mind if I bring her? People

:22:34.:22:39.

were delighted. They now have hit records. Sellout tours. Another

:22:40.:22:42.

tour. People are thrilled to hear them sing together again. Here they

:22:43.:22:47.

are for us, up at the park for Glastonbury 2014.

:26:29.:26:34.

what that could possibly be? A Dolly par ton duet, I can't think. We'll

have to hang out and wait for it. Time it check out some more action

:30:02.:30:06.

I was up in the Stone Circle earlier. It was lovely. I bumped

:30:07.:30:12.

into a a family with an 11-month-old baby in a troll quie. She was from

:30:13.:30:16.

the Wirral he was from Leeds. They said "Are you having a great

:30:17.:30:21.

birthday ""She said to him "Give him one of your cans of lager." He said

:30:22.:30:27.

"No I have rationed them out." They were spending last night watching

:30:28.:30:32.

mow tallia with people who signed a petition to stop mow tallia playing.

:30:33.:30:36.

It sounds like they were experiencing everything they wanted

:30:37.:30:40.

to experience -- Metalica. #12k3w4r! -- Here what was on the

:30:41.:30:52.

John Peel Stage earlier today. # Oh, you Jack of all trades

:30:53.:30:58.

# You're the master of none # Oh, the race has begun

:30:59.:31:25.

# I was born a champion # And I'm

counting every link # And I guess you think that's

:31:31.:32:15.

fine # You can try and run

:32:16.:32:20.

and hide CHEERING AND APPLAUSE He seems to

:32:21.:33:54.

have become one of the voices and faces of the festival. Doesn't he

:33:55.:33:57.

just? You get that each year when someone comes and steps up about

:33:58.:34:01.

three divisions. It happens that way. It is funny, the ebb and flow

:34:02.:34:06.

of the festival. The slot Dolly is playing, the 5.00pm slot is kind of

:34:07.:34:12.

the unofficial headline shot. We'll bring you that shortly. You will get

:34:13.:34:16.

all your Dolly Parton needs in this show. Hang out for that. But before

:34:17.:34:20.

we get there, we will check out the building really behind another real

:34:21.:34:24.

icon. A feature of the Glastonbury skyline. The giant spider. These

:34:25.:34:29.

days. Have alike at how this is put together over in the Arcadia area.

:34:30.:34:31.

-- have a look. Arcadia is an idea of taking things

:34:32.:34:45.

that nobody else wants any more and making them into a massive giant

:34:46.:34:52.

playground. The components of Arcadia are sculpture, recycling,

:34:53.:34:57.

music, special effects, circus per performance. Our job is to marry up

:34:58.:35:02.

all those elements and bring them together and make some interesting

:35:03.:35:06.

things happen. Glastonbury is the first show of the year for us,

:35:07.:35:10.

usually. The spider has been in hibernation for the winter. We have

:35:11.:35:14.

to get it out, dust it off and give it its summer coat or do any repairs

:35:15.:35:20.

necessary. We tend to use a lot of aviation equipment. We like jet

:35:21.:35:23.

engines because they are nice and they look lick they have come from

:35:24.:35:28.

outer space. -- they look like. This is the floor of the dft J booth in

:35:29.:35:33.

the centre of the spider. This is the spider's eyes, one of the eye

:35:34.:35:37.

sockets. We don't really have an idea and find a bit. It is kind of

:35:38.:35:44.

we find a bit and the idea is inspired by that and the bits get

:35:45.:35:48.

knocked around. And sometimes within a minute of entering a scrap yard we

:35:49.:35:52.

find a bit and it takes things in another direction. These are the top

:35:53.:35:57.

muscles from the spider they are made from Gazale helicopter tails.

:35:58.:36:02.

This big slowing one of the three legs of the spider. It weighs about

:36:10.:36:23.

thing that comes n the very first thing is 100 tonnes crane which we

:36:24.:36:29.

have put into position. We have already dug trenches and free pads

:36:30.:36:33.

for the spider feet. We reverse the trailers in one at a time, take the

:36:34.:36:38.

legs off. They get laid down with a central hub and using chains, slowly

:36:39.:36:42.

the whole structure is lifted up # A space station might look

:36:43.:36:45.

something like this... # When all the dressing goes on and

:36:46.:36:49.

the eyes go on and the characteristics of the spider really

:36:50.:36:54.

start to come on then. There is definitely danger involved with it

:36:55.:36:57.

working in the way that we do. It is kind of what makes it exciting but

:36:58.:37:02.

also what makes it what it is. We do dangerous things, safely. Henry and

:37:03.:37:08.

his team from Germany are the guys that pioneered the method and

:37:09.:37:11.

technology that we use to get the size of the flames that we do on the

:37:12.:37:17.

top of the spider. They want big flames and many flames in a short

:37:18.:37:23.

time. You have the biggest flames, 25m. If you had a long enough stick

:37:24.:37:28.

and were in the crowd, you could probably toast yourself a crumpet

:37:29.:37:32.

and stick butter on it. When we let that off for the first time, people

:37:33.:37:38.

really stand like and are like... Wow!

:37:39.:37:45.

It goes from something you have just built and is just a big load of

:37:46.:37:50.

scrap that then comes alive. It is amazing. Once the people are there

:37:51.:37:59.

and it switches on, it is a real magic. It is a privilege to be part

:38:00.:38:01.

of it. It is just amazing. That makes me

:38:02.:38:08.

want to go out, though. Lovely Henry Hot. He is like the Giorgio match

follow my music, don't you? Well,

:52:53.:52:59.

we will be doing a few favourites. Let me get out my guitar, and we

:53:00.:53:06.

will do one for you right now. This is a real thrill

and a real treat. Now, how many of you go

so far back that you would remember # I'm begging of you

just because you can # With ivory skin

and eyes of emerald green # Your smile is like

what he means to me, Jolene # I'm begging of you

:54:31.:54:42.

please don't take my man # Please don't take him

:54:43.:54:54.

just because you can # And whatever you decide to do,

:54:55.:55:30.

# I'm begging of you please don't take my man

:55:31.:55:42.

# Please don't take him even though you can

:55:43.:55:57.

Now, some of you may or may not know that that song was loosely based

:55:58.:56:32.

I wrote that years ago, when my husband,

:56:33.:56:43.

when we first got married, he was spending a bit more time with Jolene

:56:44.:56:46.

I want you to know, I got rid of that redheaded woman in a hurry!

:56:47.:56:54.

I want you folks to know that something good can come

:56:55.:56:56.

Had it not been for that other woman,

:56:57.:57:00.

And I would not have made all that money, so thank you, Jolie in.

:57:01.:57:05.

I looked at him sleeping over their in his lazy chair, snoring, hair

:57:06.:57:21.

turning grey in the temples, and I wonder if Jolene is still around.

:57:22.:57:24.

Maybe I could call her and say, you come and get him now!

:57:25.:57:27.

But anyway, thank you for remembering that one and thank

:57:28.:57:29.

I told you we would be doing some of your old favourites.

:57:30.:57:36.

But as usual, we are out on a tour, so we are promoting something new.

:57:37.:57:40.

And of course, that is what we are calling our world tour.

:57:41.:57:50.

And we are excited about that, so I thought if you did not mind, I

:57:51.:57:53.

After it goes by a time or two, you will know it

:57:54.:58:05.

I like all of your flights out there.

You were singing that like you knew it.

:01:17.:01:43.

My songs are pretty simple, and I write a lot of them.

:01:44.:01:51.

As I mentioned before, I am sure a lot of you are familiar with me.

:01:52.:01:57.

You know I grew up in the great Smoky Mountains of

:01:58.:01:59.

And like Michael Eavis, that owns this big old farm,

:02:00.:02:08.

And I grew up in the country, so this mode ain't nothing new to me.

:02:09.:02:16.

And it is nothing new to you either, is it?

:02:17.:02:19.

Anyway, I grew up in a family of 12 children.

:02:20.:02:25.

There were six boys and six girls in our family.

:02:26.:02:27.

We were just a bunch of horny hillbillies up there

:02:28.:02:32.

I don't mean any disrespect by that, because my folks loved each other.

:02:33.:02:41.

My daddy was a hard-working farmer, raised to have kids.

:02:42.:02:44.

He kept food on our table, even if it was not exactly what we wanted.

:02:45.:02:54.

And we always had a bed to sleep in, so that was always good.

:02:55.:02:57.

My mother was one of those people that could tell you

:02:58.:03:04.

And she could cook anything, make it taste good.

:03:05.:03:09.

And she could so anything, make it look really good.

:03:10.:03:14.

You know where I am heading with this, do you?

:03:15.:03:20.

Well, she made a little coat for me, and I wrote a song about it.

:03:21.:03:24.

I always like to dedicate it to all the good mothers we have.

:03:25.:03:36.

So hopefully, it will go out of your mother, wherever she may be,

:03:37.:03:39.

Of late, you will enjoy hearing my little true story of the coat

:03:40.:03:45.

# Back to the seasons of my youth

:03:46.:03:59.

# I recall a box of rags that someone gave us

:04:00.:04:04.

# And how my momma put the rags to use

:04:05.:04:10.

# There were rags of many colours

:04:11.:04:12.

# Momma sewed the rags together # Sewin' every piece with love

:04:13.:04:25.

# She made my coat of many colours

:04:26.:04:28.

# As she sewed, she told a story # From the Bible, she had read

:04:29.:04:37.

# About a coat of many colours # Joseph wore and then she said

:04:38.:04:43.

# Perhaps this coat will bring you

:04:44.:04:46.

# And I just couldn't wait to wear it

:04:47.:04:51.

# And momma blessed it with a kiss

:04:52.:04:55.

# But I wore it so proudly # Although we had no money

:04:56.:05:09.

# My momma sewed in every stitch # And I told 'em all the story

:05:10.:05:57.

# Was worth more than all their clothes

:05:58.:06:07.

# But they didn't understand it # And I tried to make them see

:06:08.:06:13.

# But I was rich as I could be

:06:14.:06:31.

# My momma made for me

:06:32.:06:33.

Of course, you could not live in the mountains and not have a banjo.

:06:34.:06:58.

I remember a lot of things, growing up in the Smoky Mountains is.

:06:59.:07:03.

All the people that touched my life and the folks that helped

:07:04.:07:06.

My grandpa was a Pentecostal preacher.

:07:07.:07:17.

And of course, I went to a little church called

:07:18.:07:19.

the house of prayer, and it was there where I learnt to love the

:07:20.:07:22.

Lord and to believe that through God, all things are possible.

:07:23.:07:25.

Of course, I was kind of a disappointment to

:07:26.:07:27.

my grandpa, because you can look at me and imagine me being

:07:28.:07:29.

He worried a bit about me, because, you see, I had a pattern.

:07:30.:07:41.

There was this loose woman that used to walk around downtown and I

:07:42.:07:44.

thought she was the prettiest thing I had ever seen.

:07:45.:07:46.

I was just a country kid, always wanted to be pretty.

:07:47.:07:55.

So my grandpa worried a bit about me, but as the years went on,

:07:56.:07:58.

he finally gave up and decided I had a good -- as good a chance of

:07:59.:08:01.

Anyhow, I really think about all the different people,

:08:02.:08:04.

and when I did start to grow up and started wearing make-up,

:08:05.:08:07.

Well, it was hard to find one up there in the mountains,

:08:08.:08:11.

# Well, I wish that I was on old Rocky Top

:08:12.:08:37.

# Cos there ain't no smog, no smoke on Rocky Top

:08:38.:08:42.

# Now but once I had me a man on Rocky Top

:08:43.:08:48.

I know you can play fiddle, but I got a pretty affordable than that.

:08:49.:09:56.

Being as how I was at the festival and all.

:09:57.:10:31.

I thought I wanted to do something to impress you are

:10:32.:10:33.

You remember the Benny Hill show, don't you?

:10:34.:11:07.

That was when I learned to play that.

:11:08.:11:09.

I think I could play this backwards if I wanted to.

:11:10.:11:17.

You don't think I could lay it backwards?

:11:18.:11:23.

Well, after sax, you usually have a cigarette.

:11:24.:12:05.

I know that was corny, but it was fun.

:12:06.:12:51.

Before we got here, they told us that you were famous for the mud.

:12:52.:13:08.

Well, we got in this morning, about five o'clock.

:13:09.:13:19.

And I was sitting in the front of the bus,

:13:20.:13:21.

and I looked out and I saw all these workers and all these folks.

:13:22.:13:24.

And they were in mud up to their knees.

:13:25.:13:27.

And I thought, well, I think I will write a song.

:13:28.:13:29.

Mud, mud, mud. # Mud, mud be mud

:13:30.:13:58.

# Up to our bones in all this crud # Still we can't get enough of the

:13:59.:14:01.

# # Mud

:14:02.:14:06.

# Here is mud in your face # Here is mud in your eye

:14:07.:14:12.

# It won't stick in your face # But that's all right

:14:13.:14:15.

# We won't let it ruin our lie # We'll embrace the mud

:14:16.:14:20.

# # Mud

:14:21.:14:24.

#Ed in Rain, rain go away. If the sun won't shine you can't make hay

:14:25.:14:29.

but we won't let it ruin our day # We'll just make more mud

:14:30.:14:32.

# Mud # Mud OK mud, mud, mud, mud up to

:14:33.:14:43.

our bones in all this Crud, still we can't just get enough of the music

:14:44.:14:45.

and the mud # The music and the mud

:14:46.:15:00.

# This Glastonbury mud # # Mud, mud, mud Well, see that, we

:15:01.:15:08.

got us a song. And you did good. You know, I want to introduce this nice

:15:09.:15:14.

bunch of folks up on stage. I'm sure you are going to get a crush on

:15:15.:15:19.

somebody. You are going to want to know who it is. How about a nice

:15:20.:15:29.

hand for Paul and Tom. We have Jennifer. And Vicky Hampton. And

:15:30.:15:39.

Richard Dennison. And Jimmy. #r We have Gary Love. And

:15:40.:15:51.

Dee Turner back there. And our fearless leader Mr Kent Will. How

:15:52.:15:57.

about a nice hand. And that good-looking guy coming in and out

:15:58.:16:02.

with my instruments that's Dean. Thank you for that. I think we

:16:03.:16:05.

should put them to work, though, don't you? Make them sing something

:16:06.:16:10.

with me. Here is another song in the new CD. It's an old song. One of the

:16:11.:16:17.

great old songs that they brought over from the old world as they came

:16:18.:16:20.

over to America. I love this particular song. Hopefully you will

:16:21.:16:56.

too. It goes like this. # He said

:16:57.:17:03.

# I asked my love to take a walk # Just to walk a little way

:17:04.:17:12.

# and as we walked # Then we could talk

:17:13.:17:24.

# About our future wedding day # But when she said she could never

:17:25.:17:27.

be mine # Well I held a knife against

:17:28.:17:48.

# He cried "my love, don't you murder me

:17:49.:17:52.

# I'm not prepared for eternity" # Then only say that you'll be mine

:17:53.:18:03.

# I started home 'tween twelve and one

:18:04.:18:33.

# I cried, "My God, what have I done?"

:18:34.:18:36.

Well, we have a bunch of songs that you have asked for

:18:37.:19:52.

by request, because we wanted to know songs that you want to hear.

:19:53.:19:54.

So we are going to do a medley of some of those songs for you now.

:19:55.:19:58.

Any time you feel like singing along, it's your show.

:19:59.:20:00.

# No-one can light up the night like you do

:20:01.:20:31.

# Burning embores of love # -- Embers

Maybe you remember this one of the # When the morning sun streaks

:22:41.:22:48.

across my room and I'm waking up # From another dream of you but when

:22:49.:22:58.

I'm onned road # Once again it seems

:22:59.:23:02.

# And all that's left behind is a chain of broken dreams

:23:03.:23:05.

# But you know I love you # You know that I love you oh how I

:23:06.:23:09.

love you # You know I love you

:23:10.:23:17.

:23:46.:23:56.

# And it it's never simple # Only a strong love survives

:23:57.:24:04.

# I know they say that it is a fine line

:24:05.:24:10.

# Between giving up and giving in # Oh and once your heart's in it,

:24:11.:24:16.

you can't just forget it # It's like nothing you felt in your

:24:17.:24:19.

:24:45.:24:48.

# We've got everything we need # Real love #

:24:49.:24:57.

Here is something I want to you give a little thought to.

:24:58.:25:03.

# Bhen When you think about love # Think about me

:25:04.:25:08.

# I can give you more than you'll ever need

:25:09.:25:13.

# Sooner or later we'll be in company

:25:14.:25:16.

# When you think about love, think about me

:25:17.:25:20.

# When you think about love, think about me

:25:21.:25:23.

# I can give you more than you'll ever need

:25:24.:25:29.

# Sooner or later every heart needs company

:25:30.:25:32.

# When you think about love # Think about me

:25:33.:25:36.

# When you think about love # Think about me #

:25:37.:25:51.

At least think about it! Thank you. Well, here's one that was my first

:25:52.:25:58.

main selling record and I bet you know every word to it. Singalong

:25:59.:26:00.

with me. # Just when I've begun to get myself

:26:01.:26:11.

together. # And wrap my heart round

:26:12.:26:16.

your little finger # Just when I'm about to

:26:17.:26:19.

make it work without you You just want to rock 'n' roll,

:26:20.:26:27.

do you? # They're laughing and drinkin'

:26:28.:28:55.

and having a party # Crying my heart out,

:28:56.:29:04.

feelin' sorry while # They're having a party

:29:05.:29:09.

two doors down # I think I'll dry

:29:10.:29:12.

these useless tears # They're laughing and drinkin'

:29:13.:29:15.

and having a party # They're having

:29:16.:29:35.

that is what we are # No one in between,

:31:01.:31:02.

how can we be wrong? # Baby, when I met you

:31:03.:31:03.

:31:04.:31:25.

with a fine tooth comb # I was soft inside,

:31:26.:31:30.

there was somethin' going on # You do something to me

:31:31.:31:39.

that I can't explain # Every beat of my heart,

:31:40.:31:45.

we got somethin' goin on # Tender love is blind,

:31:46.:31:58.

it requires a dedication # All this love we feel,

:31:59.:32:04.

needs no conversation # Islands in the stream,

:32:05.:32:08.

that is what we are # No one in between,

:32:09.:32:21.

how can we be wrong? # I can't live without you

:32:22.:32:26.

if the love was gone # Everything is nothin'

:32:27.:32:48.

if you got no one # Slowly losin' sight

:32:49.:32:52.

of the real thing # But that won't happen to us

:32:53.:33:02.

and we got no doubt # Too deep in love

:33:03.:33:06.

and we got no way out # This could be the year

:33:07.:33:11.

for the real thing # No more will you cry, baby,

:33:12.:33:20.

I will hurt you never # We start and end as one,

folks like me on the job from 9 to 5 # It's enough to drive you crazy

:33:49.:35:00.

if you let it # You would think that I

:35:01.:35:18.

would deserve a fat promotion # I swear sometimes that man

:35:19.:35:27.

is out to get me # On the boss-man's ladder

:35:28.:35:42.

# But you got dreams # Waitin'

:35:43.:35:47.

for the day your ship'll come in # And it's all gonna roll

:35:48.:35:54.

your way # It's all takin' and no givin'

:35:55.:35:59.

# They just use your mind Thank you so much

:36:00.:36:10.

for being such a great audience. I can't believe you knew

:36:11.:37:15.

that song that well! # It's enough to drive you crazy

:37:16.:38:14.

if you let it I tell you what, I wish I had

:38:15.:38:36.

the time and the money. I would get some more tour buses

:38:37.:38:39.

and take you on the road with me. Well, that is

:38:40.:38:47.

a big thrill to hear you singing It was almost my dream to be out

:38:48.:38:49.

on stage, travelling all over the world,

:38:50.:38:58.

singing to people exactly like you. But I didn't know you were going to

:38:59.:39:03.

know all the words to my songs. And again, I want to thank you

:39:04.:39:06.

for being such a great audience. You know,

:39:07.:39:12.

when I was looking out there, this And yes, I was alive and well

:39:13.:39:36.

in the 60s, with all this love and peace, everybody wishing we

:39:37.:39:46.

could all get along. Wouldn't it be great

:39:47.:39:48.

if we could all just live It must come

:39:49.:39:50.

from my up being with my grandpa, but every time I hear the sound

:39:51.:40:01.

of an old church organ, it makes me That's for sure, but like most

of you, I would like to be But sometimes, I get to thinking I'm

:40:05.:40:13.

caught somewhere in the middle. I'm just a little too bad to be

:40:14.:40:19.

really good, and If you folks can relate to that,

:40:20.:40:21.

let me a you say amen. It's like I've always got any

:40:22.:40:27.

angel on my right shoulder. Oh, yes, always telling me all

:40:28.:40:36.

the right things to do. And the devil wants to hop

:40:37.:40:45.

on my other shoulder and tear down If you can relate to that,

let me a you say amen. But one I am at my worst,

:40:49.:40:52.

when I'm sad, mad, lonely, lost I just looked up and I said, he,

so why don't you just reached down Well, a few years ago,

I'm fixing to do a new record. Could you just change that song

:41:41.:41:42.

in here a while ago? And I asked him if he would come

:41:43.:41:51.

and play on this. He was not trying to kiss me,

:41:52.:41:55.

I don't think. Thanks for writing it,

:41:56.:42:06.

and thanks for gracing us today with Get up there

Ricky. Well, what a thrill. Thank you so

:46:45.:48:08.

much. Thank you so much for gracing us with your presence, appreciated.

:48:09.:48:16.

Thank you so much. Well, that was a thrill, huh? Give her a big hand

:48:17.:48:24.

right now, come on. What an honour, what a thrill this

:48:25.:48:29.

has been today. Thank you so much for being so kind to us. Now, I

:48:30.:48:36.

wrote a song a few years back. It's going to make it the perfect song

:48:37.:48:41.

for me to dedicate to you personally today because I want it to know I

:48:42.:48:45.

appreciate every ticket you ever bought to come to my shows, I

:48:46.:48:50.

appreciate every record you evering bought, every movie that you ever

:48:51.:48:55.

went to that I was in. So this was always my dream, to be doing this.

:48:56.:49:00.

So I thank God and I thank you every day. I just want you to know that

:49:01.:49:05.

this has been a thrill and a joy today and I also want you to know

:49:06.:49:09.

that I will always love you. So this is for you.

:49:10.:49:23.

# That I'll think of you each step of my way

:49:24.:49:50.

# That's all I have, and all I'm taking with me

:49:51.:50:25.

# And I hope life will treat you kind

:50:26.:51:07.

# I will always love you # I will always love you

:51:08.:51:57.

Oh my goodness. Look at that huge crowd. Wow. When you get to Dolly

:51:58.:54:37.

Parton's stage of the game. Five decades making music, 100 million

:54:38.:54:41.

records sold. There aren't many firsts left. It is really special to

:54:42.:54:44.

see another first for her. Wonderful. Dolly Parton playing

:54:45.:54:49.

Glastonbury for the first time I don't think you can do much more

:54:50.:54:55.

than that. How do you top that? Ed Sheeran is going to have to try.

:54:56.:54:59.

That was great. All the fantastic hits. What a show and also the theme

:55:00.:55:04.

tune to the Benny Hill show which doesn't help. An a be-Jewelled

:55:05.:55:10.

saxophone. : Well that was Dolly Parton, first time as Glastonbury.

:55:11.:55:14.

It seems to have been a bit of a triumph. I wonder how she felt about

:55:15.:55:18.

it. As she came off stage, Joe wiley managed to grab a word with her.

:55:19.:55:23.

Lovely to meet you. I'm still out of breath. Listen to them, they are

:55:24.:55:28.

going out there. Queen Queen of Glastonbury, official. How was that

:55:29.:55:31.

for you? Exciting. The fact they are still going, I didn't know. It is

:55:32.:55:36.

fun. It is everything everybody said it was going to be and I didn't get

:55:37.:55:41.

mud on me. It is compare and contrast. Look at that. What was

:55:42.:55:45.

that like? I have never seen a crowd that vast before. How did it feel

:55:46.:55:50.

for you? There was a lot of people there. I was trying to pretend they

:55:51.:55:54.

were all one special person, that's kind of how it felt of. It was

:55:55.:55:57.

exciting, fun, everything everybody said it was going to be. Did it take

:55:58.:56:01.

your breath away? Overwhelming. They were quiet when we did the quiet

:56:02.:56:05.

songs. I didn't know if they would be too rowdy. They were respectful

:56:06.:56:09.

and rowdy when we needed them to be. Have you played a festival before?

:56:10.:56:13.

None this big. Many fest values. Kenny Rodgers was here this time

:56:14.:56:18.

last year. Did you speak to him? He told me it was a great crowd, he

:56:19.:56:22.

said I was going to enjoy myself. He was right. Your favourite bit. ?

:56:23.:56:26.

What did you enjoy? I loved it all. The excitement and electricity of

:56:27.:56:29.

them being out there taking part in every song and singing along with

:56:30.:56:32.

me, a big thrill. Singing nine to five with those voices, that was

:56:33.:56:36.

probably the biggest thrill of the night. What is the strangest sight

:56:37.:56:39.

you have seen? Many people were dressed up as you. I know. There are

:56:40.:56:44.

a lot of drag queens out there. I always said it was a good thing I

:56:45.:56:49.

was a girl because I would have definitely been a drag queen. Did

:56:50.:56:52.

you see the security guards doing the Dolly mob thing? They were doing

:56:53.:56:56.

their number. It was a big thrill. Will you sum-up your Glastonbury

:56:57.:56:59.

experience, how it was for you? It was a wonderful thing. More than

:57:00.:57:04.

they said it was going to be. I was a little nervous, I didn't know what

:57:05.:57:09.

to expect. They were very sweet. Everything I hoped it wouldbe. And

:57:10.:57:16.

no mud. Thank you. Congratulations. I just want to talk about it

:57:17.:57:21.

forever. I want to talk about the trousers/shorts/whatever they are,

:57:22.:57:24.

forever. Amazing, if you want more Dolly there is a documentary about

:57:25.:57:29.

to start on BBC4 called Platinum Blonde. Don't miss it. Shoofrnlts's

:57:30.:57:33.

force of nature. It was like Lars last night. When you are an act on

:57:34.:57:38.

that scale what are the last things to do, conquering Glastonbury, you

:57:39.:57:43.

get impressions, the word goes around, The final frontier. Our

:57:44.:57:47.

friend who was here earlier, Ed Sheeran is on BBC3 at 7.00pm. And

:57:48.:57:52.

don't forget you can catch up with all the performances on the website

:57:53.:57:56.

and on the iPlayer as well. We are back with kas andian at 10.00pm. I

:57:57.:58:04.

can Kasabian I can hardly believe the weekend is slipping away. Even

:58:05.:58:08.
