This programme contains some strong language

and scenes of repetitive flashing images

:00:08.:00:08.

I like the one with the singing. # And it was all yellow. Favourite

:00:09.:00:20.

Coldplay song would be... Yellow. That was where it started. Magic.

:00:21.:00:23.

Crocs. Paradise, I like that one. Hello and welcome to the final night

:00:24.:00:52.

of Glastonbury 3016. We are the Coldplay fan club. There are only

:00:53.:00:58.

two Mike remembers, and that is why we are here. What is your favourite?

:00:59.:01:04.

Um, shiver. Mine is warning sign. Good evening, everybody. Coldplay of

:01:05.:01:11.

course are at 9.30 this evening, headlining the Pyramid Stage. It has

:01:12.:01:14.

been a great day, but the weather has not been the greatest. Never has

:01:15.:01:20.

a festival needed the rainbows and vibrancy and enthusiasm to bring of

:01:21.:01:26.

Coldplay to bring colour to the mud. Look at these shoes. I have lived

:01:27.:01:32.

it, baby. But it has been a good day, despite the drizzle. We have a

:01:33.:01:36.

lot coming up. We have a live acoustic, but first an artist who

:01:37.:01:40.

was playing on the Pyramid Stage. It is Back. This is new pollution. --

earlier today. And the set has included a David Bowie cover, for

:05:10.:05:12.

obvious reasons. Speaking of David Bowie... We have Gemma out there,

:05:13.:05:17.

with a different review to David Bowie. Tell us what is going on and

:05:18.:05:23.

who you are with. There has been a particular emotional element to

:05:24.:05:26.

Glastonbury this year, and that has a lot to do with the fact that we

:05:27.:05:30.

have lost so many musical icons. There have been many DJ tributes and

:05:31.:05:36.

covers of Prince. There is Lemmy from Motorhead represented on The

:05:37.:05:40.

Other Stage, and of course, we cannot forget one of our biggest

:05:41.:05:47.

losses of 2016, Bowie. And this lady has just created something

:05:48.:05:51.

spectacular so that we can remember him in a phenomenal light. Tell me

:05:52.:05:59.

about this. Well, I was talking with some home educational people in

:06:00.:06:01.

Brighton who needed a giant puppet to represent individuality of style,

:06:02.:06:08.

so between the three of us, we went, Bowie! And it gave me the

:06:09.:06:14.

opportunity. When he died, I am not the Uber fan I see all over

:06:15.:06:21.

Glastonbury, but to me, he was a constant through my life. And he

:06:22.:06:26.

also showed me how to be an individual, whether it was conscious

:06:27.:06:30.

or not. And I felt a real loss. It was like a bolt to the heart. And

:06:31.:06:40.

this was a labour of love. How have people reacted to this? It is so

:06:41.:06:45.

big. It has been awesome. The responses have been amazing,

:06:46.:06:51.

gobsmacking. They have had me going up and down, round and about. We

:06:52.:06:56.

have had tears, laughter and everything. Usually, I make things

:06:57.:07:03.

and I am used to people going, that's amazing and things like that.

:07:04.:07:09.

And that is great, but it has been overwhelming, because people have

:07:10.:07:12.

been coming up thanking me all over the place. Well, it's so beautiful.

:07:13.:07:19.

All weekend, we have been following the different tributes to David

:07:20.:07:26.

Bowie. Here is a little about that. -- a little film about that. For

:07:27.:07:31.

many, me included, David Bowie was a cultural icon and perhaps the

:07:32.:07:35.

greatest, most innovative British pop artist of them all. He provided

:07:36.:07:40.

his fans with the soundtrack to their lives, and this weekend, they

:07:41.:07:44.

have been out in force to celebrate him in their own special ways. It

:07:45.:07:48.

still hurts now when I think about it, that he has passed away. Do

:07:49.:07:52.

don't think there will ever be another David Bowie. There is no one

:07:53.:07:56.

better than Bowie. We have got to honour him at Glastonbury. I just

:07:57.:08:00.

wanted to create something for people to come along and sing along

:08:01.:08:06.

and celebrate his life. # With as a star man waiting in the

:08:07.:08:11.

sky. # He'd like to come and meet us but

:08:12.:08:16.

he thinks he'd blow our mind. The connection between David Bowie

:08:17.:08:20.

and the festival runs deep, and he even appeared that the very first

:08:21.:08:24.

one, the legendary Glastonbury Fayre. David Bowie played here first

:08:25.:08:31.

in anti-71. I think he went on stage at the break -- in 1971.

:08:32.:08:36.

He didn't have a vehicle, he just came with the guitar on his back,

:08:37.:08:43.

with lovely long and hippie clothes. He really looked the part. I didn't

:08:44.:08:49.

have a clue who he was. But I listened to him sing out for 30

:08:50.:08:56.

a.m.. -- at 4.30. Then he came back in

:08:57.:09:04.

2000 and did a storming set on the Pyramid. Probably one of the best

:09:05.:09:09.

things I have seen on the Pyramid. I have just written this one. That was

:09:10.:09:17.

the first time I played Glastonbury in 1971. Oh, Glastonbury!

:09:18.:09:21.

# Changes. Ch-ch-ch-changes.

:09:22.:09:41.

# Time may change me, I can't change time.

:09:42.:09:48.

A very special celebration of David Bowie at this year's festival took

:09:49.:09:52.

place last night in a thrilling performance of Philip Glass'

:09:53.:09:56.

Symphony in four, which was inspired by Bowie's 1977 album, Heroes. We

:09:57.:10:07.

are looking at Heroes, reimagined by another iconoclastic genius, Philip

:10:08.:10:11.

Glass. He was close to Bowie and was an enormous influence.

:10:12.:10:24.

We have been hearing groups all day, and this was a totally different

:10:25.:10:31.

feeling. I forget makes it more fitting for Bowie, because it had to

:10:32.:10:37.

be something unique. The hypnotic music was like a collective vigil.

:10:38.:10:44.

And this afternoon, even the security guards got in on the act,

:10:45.:10:49.

dancing along as part of a Star man flash mob on the Pyramid Stage,

:10:50.:10:52.

overlooked by Bowie's all seeing eye. The weekend's events have got

:10:53.:11:00.

me thinking about my favourite Bowie moment, and there are quite a few.

:11:01.:11:04.

But one of them has to be the conclusion of his final performance

:11:05.:11:08.

at Glastonbury, with his anthem, Heroes.

:11:09.:11:12.

# We could be heroes, just for one day.

:11:13.:11:23.

That is a hell of a song, it really is. It's very exciting, and very

:11:24.:11:33.

romantic. He was the bees knees in that sense.

:11:34.:11:45.

There have been some beautiful tributes, and none more beautiful

:11:46.:11:48.

than the one last night. I was watching the orchestra on the Park

:11:49.:11:52.

Stage last night. It was an incredible moment, straight after

:11:53.:11:56.

Adele. Everyone crowded up here. We are 15 minutes away from Coldplay

:11:57.:12:01.

taking to the Pyramid Stage. Lots of rumours, people gossiping about who

:12:02.:12:05.

might be joining them, maybe one of the Bee Gees. There were rumours

:12:06.:12:09.

that we are had been spotted at Glastonbury. I haven't seen her!

:12:10.:12:12.

This is it, things start and then it goes around the festival. We will

:12:13.:12:21.

find out what happens. Right now, we have Clara at the front of the

:12:22.:12:25.

Pyramid Stage. Maybe she has her own ideas. What is going on? Here we are

:12:26.:12:32.

again at the Pyramid Stage on Sunday evening at Glastonbury. The sun

:12:33.:12:38.

hasn't quite set, and we are feeling the energy again of the 150,000

:12:39.:12:44.

people, who I feel have all rushed forward to come and catch Will,

:12:45.:12:48.

Johnny, Guy and of course Chris on the stage. They will be with us in

:12:49.:12:55.

about 15 minutes, making what I think of their fourth appearance on

:12:56.:12:58.

the Pyramid Stage, first performing here in 1999 and with you again from

:12:59.:13:05.

9:30 p.m.. I like how Clara's hair looks like the Pyramid Stage as

:13:06.:13:10.

well! So in 15 minutes, we will bring you Coldplay live, closing

:13:11.:13:16.

Glastonbury 2016. Some acoustic performances now. The lady you are

:13:17.:13:19.

about to listen to have had a certain degree of success, but she

:13:20.:13:24.

was playing a place called bread and Roses, which is a tiny little pub.

:13:25.:13:28.

That was where she was spotted playing much the same way that Adele

:13:29.:13:33.

was playing in the Guardian tent years ago and then ended up playing

:13:34.:13:37.

on the Pyramid Stage. No pressure! We would love to hear from you.

:13:38.:13:52.

# And I was living in Hollywood. # Trying to make it, I know I could,

:13:53.:14:03.

when something is turned upside down, reached the top and I hit the

:14:04.:14:09.

ground. # And they said I would have to

:14:10.:14:19.

start on the walk of Fame. # And almost there, I got so far, I

:14:20.:14:27.

know who is to blame. # You said my skin was porcelain.

:14:28.:14:36.

# And I want fame like Marilyn. # Bury me in Azalea.

:14:37.:14:50.

# Now they call me Black Dahlia. # They call me Black Dahlia.

:14:51.:15:03.

# And I was living in Hollywood. # Working hard to get what I should.

:15:04.:15:17.

# Always at the silver screen. # I'd try my best to catch my dream.

:15:18.:15:24.

# And they said I would have a star on the walk of Fame.

:15:25.:15:34.

# And almost there, I got so far. # I know who is to blame.

:15:35.:15:43.

# You said my skin was porcelain. # And I want fame like Marilyn.

:15:44.:15:51.

# Bury me in Azalea. # Now they call me Black Dahlia.

:15:52.:16:05.

# They call me Black Dahlia. # I trusted you.

:16:06.:16:25.

# You lured me in. # And I sold my soul.

:16:26.:16:33.

# I thought I would win. # You said I would have a star on

:16:34.:16:43.

the walk of Fame. # Almost there, you know I got so

:16:44.:16:47.

far. # I know you're to blame.

:16:48.:16:57.

# You said my skin was porcelain. # I wanted fame like Marilyn.

:16:58.:17:04.

# Bury me in Azalea. # Now they call me Black Dahlia.

:17:05.:17:27.

# They call me Black Dahlia. # Old, oh.

:17:28.:17:40.

Aine Cahill, thank you so much for joining us. How was Thursday? It was

:17:41.:17:49.

one of the best experiences of my life, to be able to play at

:17:50.:17:52.

Glastonbury, and this is even better. One of the best things about

:17:53.:17:57.

Glastonbury is you will get new fans, did you get some sense of

:17:58.:18:03.

that? Yes, you could see as the performance went on, it started to

:18:04.:18:07.

build, which I was surprised about because we usually play with the

:18:08.:18:12.

full band and thought myself and the piano might not work for the

:18:13.:18:15.

festival but I was so delighted, just delighted! What have you

:18:16.:18:20.

enjoyed about the Festival? We watched a Dell last night. Just

:18:21.:18:25.

walking around and you will not even get to see all of it. Just being

:18:26.:18:32.

here, it is an experience in itself. And the amazing view behind us! That

:18:33.:18:37.

is what I said. All my God! You can see everything. The weather has set

:18:38.:18:46.

in! Coldplay coming up but we shall go to a woman who followed ELO this

:18:47.:18:51.

afternoon. Chibok an injection of pop and vitality to the festival.

:18:52.:18:53.

This is Ellie Goulding. # It's a little dirty how

:18:54.:19:57.

the whole thing started # I don't even really

:19:58.:19:59.

know what you intended # Thought that you were cute

:20:00.:20:01.

and you could make me jealous # Poured it down,

:20:02.:20:04.

so I poured it down # Next thing that I know I'm

:20:05.:20:06.

in the hotel with you # You were talking deep

:20:07.:20:09.

like it was mad love to you # You wanted my heart

:20:10.:20:12.

but I just liked your tattoos # Poured it down,

:20:13.:20:15.

so I poured it down # You don't mess with love,

:20:16.:20:17.

you mess with the truth # I always hear,

:20:18.:20:21.

always hear them talking # Talking 'bout a girl,

:20:22.:20:48.

'bout a girl with my name # Saying that I hurt you

:20:49.:20:51.

but I still don't get it # Wait,

:20:52.:20:54.

I could have really liked you # I'll bet, I'll bet that's why I

:20:55.:21:00.

keep on thinking 'bout you # It's a shame (shame),

:21:01.:21:03.

you said I was good # So I poured it down,

:21:04.:21:06.

so I poured it down # You don't mess with love,

:21:07.:21:09.

you mess with the truth # You got yourself

:21:10.:21:15.

in a dangerous zone # Cause we both have the fear,

:21:16.:21:52.

fear of being alone # You don't mess with love,

:21:53.:21:58.

you mess with the truth # And my heart don't understand it,

:21:59.:22:04.

understand it, understand it APPLAUSE.

:22:05.:23:07.

Thank you. That was Ellie Goulding. That is talk about your favourite

:23:08.:23:12.

parts? When I got here on Friday morning, I ran to the Other Stage

:23:13.:23:18.

because James were starting and I had them play on the issue of the

:23:19.:23:21.

week before and they were great. You worry when somebody opens up, how

:23:22.:23:26.

many people will be there but the field was full and it was the most

:23:27.:23:30.

superb set and then I saw Christine and the Queen 's so if you want to

:23:31.:23:34.

fall in love with the new act, that is everybody's favourite. Lots of

:23:35.:23:38.

people are talking about that. What about you? The one that would stick

:23:39.:23:45.

out so far is Fatboy Slim, yesterday, unbelievable, it was 30

:23:46.:23:51.

deep outside, it was a perfect set at 9pm and today, Catfish and the

:23:52.:23:55.

Bottlemen the bottle men, they are the headliners of the future. They

:23:56.:24:02.

were just one point. They just got it. Let us get better and this

:24:03.:24:08.

evening. We are few moments away from Coldplay headlining for the

:24:09.:24:13.

fourth time at the world's greatest festival. Here is a history of the

:24:14.:24:19.

band doing that. I don't know if anybody has ever heard of us, but we

:24:20.:24:25.

are called Coldplay! Yes, there was a time when some of us had not heard

:24:26.:24:31.

of Coldplay. Tonight we're on the cusp of Glastonbury folklore,

:24:32.:24:34.

preparing to headline the Pyramid Stage for a record-breaking fourth

:24:35.:24:38.

time. It is amazing we have got to headline this Ford times,

:24:39.:24:44.

incredible. Making their debut on the Other Stage into thousands, they

:24:45.:24:48.

had head but they were not yet superstar material. # Look at the

:24:49.:24:55.

stars... We might have looked like for students he had won a

:24:56.:24:58.

competition and in many ways that is what had happened! The first

:24:59.:25:03.

headline slot in 2000 and two was a huge leg up to the pop Premiership.

:25:04.:25:09.

We got called up really early and it was a big deal, the equivalent of

:25:10.:25:13.

scoring a goal and bubbly. The world watched in wonder, transfixed by the

:25:14.:25:18.

blinding set. Somebody said before we went on stage, but every do,

:25:19.:25:25.

don't stare at the laser! I could not help but! We came off stage with

:25:26.:25:32.

better eyesight! And I have some hair on my back but was gone! And in

:25:33.:25:40.

2005 when the rain and mud threatened to drench the spirit of

:25:41.:25:43.

Glastonbury, Coldplay knocked the weather or off the front page. Chris

:25:44.:25:50.

Martin Road and old to the magic that defines their favourite

:25:51.:25:56.

festival. # The weather does no harm... Michael Evers and the Worthy

:25:57.:26:08.

Farm! Is a macro give me mud, up to my knees... Such a special place to

:26:09.:26:19.

us, we loved that audience. # Every watcher for... In 2011 they

:26:25.:26:29.

show but proved they had graduated into global rock icons. # Every

:26:44.:26:51.

year, this is like on. -- 362. They have been on the road since March

:26:52.:26:55.

this year and now we bring them to you live on BBC Two. Headlining

:26:56.:27:00.

Glastonbury on this glorious Sunday evening, ladies and gentlemen, we

:27:01.:27:02.

give you... Coldplay! We all want to help one another. We

:27:03.:28:07.

want to live by each other's happiness, not misery, we don't want

:28:08.:28:13.

to hate and despise one another. This world can provide for everyone.

:28:14.:28:21.

Do not despair. The misery that is upon us is the passing of creed, the

:28:22.:28:25.

bitterness of men. The hate of men who will pass and dictators die and

:28:26.:28:31.

the Power they took from the people will be returned to the people. The

:28:32.:28:36.

kingdom of God is within man, not just one man... The people have the

:28:37.:28:51.

power. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Wonderful adventure...

:28:52.:29:06.

# For the thirst and for the hunger

:29:07.:29:30.

# You can see the change you want to

:29:31.:30:02.

# Into life I just been spoken

# Where there are miracles at work

# With a head full, a head full of dreams #.

:30:48.:32:13.

In this is our favourite place in the world.

:32:14.:33:05.

Everybody, wave! One, two, three, go!

:33:06.:33:25.

# Oh yeah, your skin and bones

:33:26.:34:24.

# For you, I'd bleed myself dry

:34:25.:36:19.

# And all the things that you do #.

:36:20.:37:06.

Good evening, everybody. Thank you for waiting for three days of rain

:37:07.:37:19.

and mud. We came here a bit scared about the state of the world, but to

:37:20.:37:23.

see the that Glastonbury makes me feel like people are great and

:37:24.:37:28.

together, can do wonderful things. Thank you for restoring my faith in

:37:29.:37:32.

the world. We are going to give it everything we have for you tonight

:37:33.:37:35.

and I hope you have a great time. Thank you for being here. Now show

:37:36.:37:44.

me what you got! Show me what you got! I want to see you, I want to

:37:45.:37:48.

hear you. Sing along.

:37:49.:38:20.

# Sing, oh. # I turn the music up

I got my records on # From underneath the rubble sing

going back to the start # Do not speak as loud

:44:00.:44:14.

as my heart # Oh,

:44:15.:44:50.

and I rush to the start # Oh,

:44:51.:45:05.

it's such a shame for us to part # No-one

:45:06.:45:30.

ever said it would be this hard # Oh,

:45:31.:45:46.

it's such a shame for us to part # No-one

:45:47.:47:27.

ever said it would be so hard # I'm

:47:28.:47:40.

going back to the start And believable, thank you so much.

:47:41.:47:49.

Let's go! -- unbelievable! ACU on the left, I see you on the

:47:50.:48:35.

right. One, two, three... # Around here you never

:48:36.:49:01.

want to sleep all night # And come on,

:49:02.:49:50.

rage with me # But it flew

:49:51.:50:03.

away from her reach # So she ran

:50:04.:53:46.

away in her sleep # Every time

:53:47.:53:50.

she closed her eyes # She expected the

:53:51.:54:18.

world # But it flew

:54:19.:54:24.

away from her reach # And the bullets

:54:25.:54:28.

catch in her teeth # In the night, the stormy night

:54:29.:54:32.

she'll close her eyes # In the night, the stormy

:54:33.:54:48.

night, away she'd fly # Oh oh oh oh

:54:49.:54:56.

oh oh-oh-oh # Oh oh

:54:57.:55:09.

oh oh oh oh-oh-oh-oh # And so lying underneath those

:55:10.:55:38.

stormy skies # She'd say, "Oh, ohohohoh,

:55:39.:55:50.

I know the sun must set to rise" # Oh oh oh oh

:55:51.:55:57.

oh oh-oh-oh # Oh oh oh oh

:55:58.:56:10.

oh oh-oh-oh Can you turn the lights on so that

:56:11.:59:41.

we can say hello? Look at that audience! That is a brave, wonderful

:59:42.:59:47.

bunch of people. I was walking around yesterday with my children

:59:48.:59:52.

and I take my proverbial hat off to all of you who has been through all

:59:53.:59:59.

of the rain and the mud and the carnage, the collapse of the country

:00:00.:00:03.

and everything! And you are still looking wonderful and happy!

:00:04.:00:08.

Positive. All the great things that link us. I don't want to ramble on

:00:09.:00:15.

because I am not a good talker. This is our beautiful drummer from

:00:16.:00:19.

Southampton! You might have seen him on Game of Thrones, one of the

:00:20.:00:26.

starring roles! Series three? Episode nine. The best episode! And

:00:27.:00:36.

from Wales, our beautiful guitarist and best friend, Johnny. And the man

:00:37.:00:49.

who turned down 1001 bands to play bass, he chose to humbly stand

:00:50.:00:57.

beside us, just being gorgeous. This is Guy! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE.. Who

:00:58.:01:02.

never gets embarrassed whenever I introduce an onstage! And Azura, I

:01:03.:01:08.

am Chris De Burgh! And this song is about great things that were and

:01:09.:01:10.

could be again! Wait, what's going on? One of us is

:01:11.:01:29.

out, maybe it's me. One of us is out of tune. Is that an A? One note is

:01:30.:01:46.

that, Johnny? He? Oh, that is a terrible problem, live at

:01:47.:01:49.

Glastonbury. Shall we just skip to the next song? Or shall I just do it

:01:50.:01:59.

on my own? I could do it, yeah. OK, so having introduced the best band

:02:00.:02:05.

in my lifetime, now they are going to leave me on my own to do it.

:02:06.:02:09.

Something is wrong with the piano, but we can muster through.

:02:10.:02:35.

# This particular diamond was extra special

:02:36.:02:47.

Still I should, but I can't let you go.

:02:48.:03:16.

# There's a feeling within me, an everglow

:03:17.:03:47.

# Yeah, we swore on that night

:03:48.:03:57.

# We'd be friends 'til we died

:03:58.:04:01.

# Life as short as the falling of snow

:04:02.:04:12.

# And now I'm gonna miss you, I know

:04:13.:04:21.

# And I know that you're with me

:04:22.:04:37.

# Cos you give me this feeling, this everglow

:04:38.:05:12.

# What I wouldn't give for just a moment to hold

:05:13.:05:18.

# Yeah, I live for this feeling, this everglow

:05:19.:05:37.

# So if you love someone, you should let them know

:05:38.:05:42.

# Oh, the light that you left me will everglow #.

:05:43.:05:58.

God is watching me. God don't praise me because I beat Joe Fraser. He

:05:59.:06:09.

wants to know how we treat each other, how do we help each other?

:06:10.:06:15.

So, I'm going to dedicate my life to using my name and popularity to

:06:16.:06:18.

helping charities, helping people unite with people. People are

:06:19.:06:21.

bombing each other because of religion. We need somebody to help

:06:22.:06:27.

us make peace. So when I die, if there is a heaven, I want to see it.

:06:28.:06:33.

Thank you, everybody. # You've put me down

:06:34.:07:30.

upon my knees # Oh I beg, I beg and plead,

:07:31.:07:41.

singing # Come out of things unsaid shoot

:07:42.:07:48.

an apple off my head # Trouble that can't be named tigers

:07:49.:07:53.

waiting to be tamed, singing # Confusion never stops,

:07:54.:08:01.

closing walls and ticking clocks # I could not stop that

:08:02.:08:36.

you now know, singing # Come out upon my seas,

:08:37.:08:44.

curse missed opportunities # Am I a part of the cure

:08:45.:08:51.

or am I part of the disease? # Home, home,

:08:52.:08:58.

where I wanted to go Hands up, hands up. Yes, let's go

:08:59.:13:24.

for that clap. One, two. Now give me some noise! Give me some noise! Now

:13:25.:13:33.

let's jump, jump, clap, noise, jump! # Took a car downtown

:13:34.:14:02.

where the lost boys meet # I took a car downtown and took

:14:03.:14:07.

what they offered me # I saw the lights go down

:14:08.:14:13.

at the end of the scene # I saw the lights go down

:14:14.:14:20.

and they're standing # When they smashed my

:14:21.:14:24.

heart into smithereens # I'll be a bright red rose

:14:25.:14:47.

combusting the concrete Give me those beautiful hands, all

:14:48.:16:21.

the way to the back. Look at that! Let me know you're out there. I

:16:22.:16:30.

can't hear you, let me know you're out there! Now jump, two, three, go!

:16:31.:16:57.

# Oh, angel sent from up above

:16:58.:18:36.

# You know you make my world light up

:18:37.:18:41.

# When I was down, when I was hurt

:18:42.:18:47.

# Life is a drink, and love's a drug

:18:48.:18:56.

# When I was a river, dried up

:18:57.:19:07.

# And said drink from me, drink from me

:19:08.:19:15.

# Put your wings on me, wings on me

:19:16.:19:25.

# When I'm low, low, low, low

:19:26.:19:35.

# I feel it coursing through my blood

:19:36.:20:16.

# When I'm low, low, low, low

:20:17.:20:38.

# Got me feeling drunk and high

:20:39.:20:44.

# Then we'll shoot across the sky

:20:45.:21:25.

# Then we'll shoot across the sky

:21:26.:21:35.

# Then we'll shoot across the sky

:21:36.:21:46.

# Then we'll shoot across the sky

:21:47.:21:57.

# Then we'll shoot across the sky

:21:58.:22:51.

# When you try your best But you don't succeed

:22:52.:22:57.

# When you get what you want but not what you need

:22:58.:23:03.

# When you feel so tired but you can't sleep

:23:04.:23:09.

# And the tears come streaming down your face

:23:10.:23:24.

# When you lose something you can't replace

:23:25.:23:30.

# When you love someone but it goes to waste

:23:31.:23:37.

# And high up above or down below

:23:38.:24:25.

# When you're too in love to let it go

:24:26.:24:32.

# But if you never try you'll never know

:24:33.:24:38.

# When you lose something you cannot replace

:24:39.:26:16.

# Tears stream down your face

:26:17.:26:21.

# Tears stream down your face

:26:22.:26:36.

# I promise you I will learn from my mistakes

:26:37.:26:43.

Thank you so much, everybody. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE.

:26:44.:27:59.

Thank you, everybody. You are making us feel unbelievable. It is greatest

:28:00.:28:09.

gift earth, what the Glastonbury audience gives to artists. I wish I

:28:10.:28:18.

could tell you how it felt. And... Normally, we are on tour and what we

:28:19.:28:23.

do at this point is we would play heroes by David Bowie. And it is

:28:24.:28:29.

great. What we shall do something a little different. When we started in

:28:30.:28:38.

1986, we got a record deal in 1999 and replayed Glastonbury at the John

:28:39.:28:48.

Peel Stage. Maybe you have seen the next Adeles and that kind of thing

:28:49.:28:54.

but at the beginning of this year, you might have read about that

:28:55.:29:02.

beautiful band, Viola Beach, who had just got signed and went through a

:29:03.:29:07.

tragic accident. They got taken away. And we thought that was just

:29:08.:29:14.

the worst. It reminded us of the other bands that come through for --

:29:15.:29:18.

three here, the excitement and joy and we hope and we relief felt that

:29:19.:29:27.

in them. Instead of playing heroes, we are going to create Viola Beach's

:29:28.:29:32.

alternate future for them and let them headline last brief for us! So,

:29:33.:29:44.

Chris and Jack, Thomas and the manager, Craig, this is what would

:29:45.:29:49.

have been new in 20 years or whatever. I hope this will do you

:29:50.:29:56.

justice. Put this into the charts tomorrow, if you like it. CHEERING

:29:57.:29:58.

AND APPLAUSE. # We'll be fine though # Singing

:29:59.:30:22.

# What do they know? # She's a Libra and I need

:30:23.:30:45.

her # The Mona Lisa # Would want to be her # Singing

:30:46.:30:49.

woah What do they know? # And she told me that I'll never

:30:50.:30:55.

find another girl like her # She's in Lycra but I don't

:30:56.:31:20.

like her # She's a weirdo and

:31:21.:31:29.

a lido # And she said that together

:31:30.:31:31.

we could take on the world # And she said that together

:31:32.:31:41.

we could take on the world # And she told me that I'll never

:31:42.:31:56.

find another girl like her # And she said that together

:31:57.:32:03.

we could do anything # And she told me that she loves

:32:04.:32:11.

a boy who knows how to sing # And she said that together

:32:12.:32:16.

we could take on the world # And she told me that I'll never

find another girl like her # And she said that together

:32:48.:32:54.

we could do anything # And she told me that she loves

:32:55.:33:01.

a boy who knows how to sing CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Viola Beach,

:33:02.:33:05.

everybody! Let's hear you, come on! On the left

:33:06.:33:20.

side. Beautiful. # Feel the fear

:33:21.:33:46.

the world # Turn your magic on, Umi,

she'd say # Turn your magic on,

:38:06.:38:10.

to me she'd say # Everything

# Oh, you make me feel like I'm alive again

# Said I can't go on, not in this way

:39:15.:39:18.

# I'm a dream that died by light of day

:39:19.:39:23.

# Gonna hold up half the sky and say

:39:24.:39:27.

# I feel my heart underneath my skin

:39:28.:39:36.

# Cos you make me feel like I'm alive again

:39:37.:39:54.

# Oh, you make me feel like I'm alive again

:39:55.:40:05.

# Turn your magic on, Umi, she'd say

:40:06.:40:12.

OK, I know this is hard because of the mud. Just trust me and try it.

:40:13.:40:20.

Everybody, get down. Let's crouch down. Hands up, crouch down. This is

:40:21.:40:30.

the last thing you have to do this weekend, so you may as well get

:40:31.:40:32.

muddy. Everybody, stay down. # If we've only got

:40:33.:40:43.

this life # And if we've only got this

:40:44.:41:04.

life Thank you so much. You've been

:41:05.:41:11.

incredible. # Welcome

and entertain them all! # Be grateful for whoever

malice. Meet them at the door, laughing, and invite them in. Be

:44:53.:44:54.

grateful. For whoever comes. Because each has been

:44:55.:45:00.

sent as a guide. # Amazing Grace... # How sweet the

:45:01.:45:20.

sound. like me # I once was lost but now

:45:21.:46:07.

I'm found # Was blind, but now I see. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE.

:46:08.:46:21.

Thank you so much. Thank you. As a come towards the finale of

:46:22.:46:38.

Glastonbury, we need to pull out some special tricks. If you could be

:46:39.:46:47.

so patient. What we normally do, but for someone special, we shall take a

:46:48.:46:58.

request from Instagram. Michael, here. People keep asking me, which

:46:59.:47:05.

band in the world should I have had playing here. There is one that I

:47:06.:47:15.

seriously wanted. Bee Gees. Fantastic and, lovely songs. Thank

:47:16.:47:27.

you very much. That is Michael Evers, the king of the music. We can

:47:28.:47:33.

bring on an actual Bee Gee! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Mr Barry Gibb! Letters

:47:34.:47:43.

be respectful. All right! -- let us. # There is a light. A certain kind

want to say thank you to the crew at the stewards and everyone who worked

so hard to put this together. To the eve 's family, to the cows. Most of

:08:00.:08:06.

all, Michael and Emily and all of us who get to play would like to thank

:08:07.:08:10.

you all for going through everything you're going through to make this is

:08:11.:08:14.

double the most special place on servers far as we are concerned. --

:08:15.:08:19.

this festival. In fact, you know what, I don't want this to be the

:08:20.:08:25.

last song. Who is in charge of this festival? Is there anyone we can

:08:26.:08:30.

speak to to make this not the last song? Is there anyone we can speak

:08:31.:08:36.

to who is in charge? Can we speak to someone in charge, someone with some

:08:37.:08:45.

power? The perfect person, Michael. Can we do one more song, please? We

:08:46.:08:56.

will do one more song. And this is going to be special, everybody.

:08:57.:09:00.

Let's bring on the best singer of all time. Ready?

:09:01.:09:14.

# And now, the end is near. # And so I face the final curtain.

:09:15.:09:32.

# My friend, I'll say it clear. # I'll state my case, of which I'm

:09:33.:09:38.

certain. # I've lived a life that is full.

:09:39.:09:47.

# I traveled each and every highway

:09:48.:09:54.

# And more, much more than this,

:09:55.:09:56.

# But then again, too few to mention

:09:57.:10:11.

# I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption

:10:12.:10:23.

# I planned each charted course,

:10:24.:10:28.

# Each careful step along the byway

:10:29.:10:34.

# Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew

:10:35.:10:52.

# When I bit off more than I could chew

:10:53.:10:57.

# I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

:10:58.:11:21.

# I've had my fill, my share of losing

:11:22.:11:33.

# Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way

:11:34.:12:07.

# For what is a man, what has he got?

:12:08.:12:13.

# To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels

:12:14.:12:31.

# The record shows I took the blows

:12:32.:12:36.

# Yes, it was my way. APPLAUSE AND CHEERING.

:12:37.:13:26.

I guess we had better finish. Guess we had better go home.

:13:27.:13:39.

# Fixing up a car to drive in it again

:13:40.:13:45.

# When you're in pain, when you think you've had enough.

:13:46.:14:03.

# Don't ever give up. # Don't ever give up. Thank you,

:14:04.:14:14.

everybody. Have a safe journey home. Look at what people can do together.

:14:15.:14:20.

# Oh, APPLAUSE.

:14:21.:14:46.

Thank you, everybody. Have a safe journey home.

:14:47.:15:06.

Ending with that traditional Coldplay bow. I managed to sneak out

:15:07.:16:06.

when that was on and on that massive crowd I found my family and the time

:16:07.:16:09.

I spent with them sums up what Coldplay are about, having the time

:16:10.:16:14.

of their lives and make kids range from tiny too big and all-round

:16:15.:16:17.

everybody was singing to every song, having a wonderful time. That is

:16:18.:16:23.

what Coldplay are about, they got the tone of what is going on at the

:16:24.:16:27.

moment, it is all about love. That was wonderful. It was euphoric. I

:16:28.:16:37.

thought the tribute to Viola Beach was heartfelt. And who knew Coldplay

:16:38.:16:49.

could do disco! World champion onstage strumming! And everybody was

:16:50.:17:00.

singing. And Michael Evers. Some bel canto singing to finish. And a lot

:17:01.:17:04.

of the monitor equipment up before they went on and they have stolen

:17:05.:17:10.

some stuff from one of the BBC tents. And that is why we are here

:17:11.:17:19.

in this little dome! We are close to the Pyramid Stage. Under the

:17:20.:17:23.

crackling of the fireworks. We are here until midnight and we have if

:17:24.:17:30.

you things to show you. We will kick off with something from the Other

:17:31.:17:34.

Stage, they were headliners tonight, LCD Soundsystem.

:17:35.:17:46.

# Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house

:17:47.:18:26.

# I'll show you the ropes, kid # Show you the ropes

:18:27.:18:45.

# I bought 15 cases for my house, my house

:18:46.:18:50.

# Well, Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house

:18:51.:19:01.

# You got to set them up kid, set them up

:19:02.:19:07.

# Set them up up, ooh-ooh yeah

:19:08.:19:22.

# Well, Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house

:19:23.:19:25.

# There's every kid for miles at my house, my house

:19:26.:19:38.

# And the neighbors call the police?

:19:39.:19:45.

# There's a fist fight brewing at my house, my house?

:19:46.:19:51.

# Because the jocks can't get in the door

:19:52.:19:57.

# When Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house

:19:58.:20:02.

# Set them up up, ooh-ooh yeah

:20:03.:20:31.

# Well, everybody's lined up in my house, my house

:20:32.:21:03.

# And Sarah's girlfriend is working the door

:21:04.:21:17.

# Got everybody's PA in my house, my house

:21:18.:21:19.

# All the robots descend from the bus

:21:20.:21:22.

# There's a freak out brewing in my house, my house

:21:23.:21:30.

# Cos Daft Punk is playing at my house, my house

:21:31.:21:39.

# Set them up up, ooh-ooh yeah

:21:40.:22:08.

# And never, never, never let them go

:22:09.:22:13.

APPLAUSE. Very atmospheric LCD Soundsystem.

:22:14.:22:47.

That was on the Other Stage. The alternative to Coldplay this

:22:48.:22:57.

evening. We have some Beck for you. And an acoustic set from John

:22:58.:23:03.

Taylor. We're still marooned on the stage on the hill. We came down the

:23:04.:23:09.

mudslide from that stage but she was stuck at the top. It has been a

:23:10.:23:15.

hectic weekend, it has been towering, when it is muddy, it has

:23:16.:23:19.

not rained much but whenever you cannot sit down and you are wading

:23:20.:23:29.

through this ankle-deep mud. We have been flown around in sedan chairs,

:23:30.:23:36.

obviously! These have come from wardrobe! I went to Earth, Wind and

:23:37.:23:42.

Fire and they have never worn a pair of wellies in their lives ever! They

:23:43.:23:47.

were pristine. Why are we wearing these? What are we doing here? They

:23:48.:23:53.

are at the West Holts stage! I felt sorry for them. The end of the

:23:54.:23:59.

Healing Fields is a good place to end up for the weekend to detox and

:24:00.:24:07.

James Maloney is out there. The final day of the festival, a little

:24:08.:24:15.

bit of rain and a little bit of mud, but what a festival. I started in

:24:16.:24:19.

Glastonbury time with Michael Labour's. And then last night,

:24:20.:24:29.

things got pretty wild. Today, I have come up to Greenfields for a

:24:30.:24:37.

cup of tea. In the midst of adversity and treacherous weather

:24:38.:24:40.

conditions, you have some clotted cream. Lovely! Home-made jam.

:24:41.:24:51.

Life-saver! How has business been? Weeded twice as many on Thursday and

:24:52.:25:00.

Friday as last year. 800 scones. That is a lot of scones and jam.

:25:01.:25:08.

Gallons of jam. Any sugar? I don't want to get a sugar high whenever I

:25:09.:25:17.

am trying to chill! Still warm! That hit the spot. I have come here to

:25:18.:25:22.

the healing Fields. Because my shoulders are a little bit tight.

:25:23.:25:25.

Can I have a massage? Ahh. But is great. Can you feel

:25:26.:25:46.

those knots? You are an expert in helping people to relax. What is a

:25:47.:25:52.

relaxing part of Glastonbury? I love green fields. I love being outside

:25:53.:25:58.

in the summer, you can always come here and find a nice place to just

:25:59.:26:06.

chill. There you go. You have just got that knot. I might have a little

:26:07.:26:13.

wonder, down here, to see what else is here.

:26:14.:26:26.

# I was born to be wild... # Never want to die! # Born to be wild! I

:26:27.:26:46.

have had a lovely couple tea and Rob dying, nice and relaxed but I was

:26:47.:26:51.

born to be wild so I am going to go back to the party down there.

:26:52.:26:58.

Nice one! In the healing Fields. Did he have the best time or Gemma? They

:26:59.:27:10.

had all of the fun! Out and about. Summary different faces. Huge crowds

:27:11.:27:18.

for Coldplay and Adele, born to be wild at the healing Fields. They

:27:19.:27:22.

have played in that stage and that was a completely different side of

:27:23.:27:26.

things. If you are watching and did not get the ticket, this will whet

:27:27.:27:30.

your appetite to come here in the future because is so much to and

:27:31.:27:34.

Explorer. There was a young man who came through BBC introducing in has

:27:35.:27:41.

had great success and it meant a lot to him to be here playing on the

:27:42.:27:44.

John Peel Stage. Please enjoy Jake Bugg.

:27:45.:28:14.

Visit macro try to keep it up late. # Never going to be the same.

:28:15.:28:49.

Just gimme the love Just gimme the love

:28:50.:29:00.

Shakes hard, turning out to get paid Bad times,

:29:01.:29:02.

sees the people real fake Pushing on her heart

:29:03.:29:04.

thats allready been made Coming up fast, cut glass the next take

:29:05.:29:07.

# Better put your sticker on cause you gonna break

:29:08.:29:10.

# Late nights make you walk sideways And now we're gonna party my way

:29:11.:29:13.

That was Jake Bugg. I like seeing him in that environment. Last year,

:29:14.:30:53.

he was quite exposed and had a big slot, but in that John Peel tent, it

:30:54.:31:00.

kind of works. A darker atmosphere. Moodier. So, we are sitting

:31:01.:31:05.

backstage under the shadow of the Pyramid Stage. Up the hill about two

:31:06.:31:10.

miles is the Park Stage. We are going to have a live session from

:31:11.:31:13.

Joanne Shaw Taylor, a blues guitarist is covered by Dave Stuart

:31:14.:31:16.

from the Eurythmics. She's put her time between Detroit and Michigan.

:31:17.:31:18.

Here she is. # When your name's

:31:19.:31:59.

already mud, honey # You ain't getting redeemed

:32:00.:33:30.

cos karma's intervened # No more running 'round town

:33:31.:33:54.

waving that blood money # Your name's long been mud,

:33:55.:33:57.

honey APPLAUSE AND CHEERING.

:33:58.:34:48.

Thank you, Joanne. What are the chances of that, being that good on

:34:49.:34:52.

the guitar and having a voice like that? She's amazing. Really good. If

:34:53.:34:57.

you are wondering why I keep looking at Mark intently, it is because

:34:58.:35:01.

somebody commented that I looked extraordinarily disinterested in

:35:02.:35:04.

everything you said, so I'm hanging on your every word. But think of

:35:05.:35:08.

something interesting to say! I am always amazed by how people plan

:35:09.:35:15.

ahead. During ELO, did you see that guy who had blown up a little Binny

:35:16.:35:21.

and was rowing across? To do that -- a little dinghy, I love that. I

:35:22.:35:28.

asked Jeff about that. When you are standing there on stage, did you see

:35:29.:35:34.

the dinghy? He went, yes, I saw that. And the puppets. He was

:35:35.:35:38.

obsessed with the puppets. Anyway, next to a performance that happened

:35:39.:35:42.

on the Park Stage, not far from where you just saw that acoustic.

:35:43.:35:47.

The headlines that came from Grimes. This is kill versus Maine.

:35:48.:36:06.

# I got in a fight, I was indisposed

# Eh, oh, don't behave, oh, don't behave, oh

# 'Cause I'm only a man, do what I can, ooh-whoa-oh

# 'Cause I'm only a man, do what I can (do what I can)

:39:14.:39:22.

# Tell me I'm a mobster looking so precious, uh

:39:23.:39:28.

That was Grimes on the Park Stage. There were times at past festivals

:39:29.:40:19.

when you would walk past The Other Stage and no matter what time it

:40:20.:40:23.

was, there were always four moody people with fringes staring at

:40:24.:40:26.

effects pedals. Doesn't happen nowadays. Laura Mvula had some great

:40:27.:40:34.

dancers today. It sets them apart. When you go and see a band, you want

:40:35.:40:38.

to performance, something to feast your eyes on. This is a great event.

:40:39.:40:44.

Makes me feel wholly adequate, being completely unable to dance. Speak

:40:45.:40:49.

for yourself. You have got all the moves. I often interpret music

:40:50.:40:54.

through the medium of dance. Want to do it now? We have an audience. It

:40:55.:40:59.

is a bit late, everybody is winding down, let's leave it. Let's go and

:41:00.:41:04.

see Gemma instep. She is obviously having the time of her life. I think

:41:05.:41:09.

she is in Arcadia, which is of course where you have the best fun.

:41:10.:41:14.

In so many ways, Glastonbury has been more unforgettable than ever

:41:15.:41:18.

before, more special and more important. It is more than about the

:41:19.:41:22.

headliners, more than the party or the copious amounts of glitter you

:41:23.:41:26.

can put on yourself. It is about coming together, adding in the mud

:41:27.:41:31.

and enjoying yourself. My goodness, here we are at Arcadia, the Sunday

:41:32.:41:38.

night finale. It is infamous for its madness, it's industrialism, it's

:41:39.:41:42.

dancing. Basement Jack played here earlier. What a way to finish off an

:41:43.:41:47.

incredible festival one of the festivals on the planet if you ask

:41:48.:41:52.

me. Look at these guys! It hasn't been easy, but they are still here.

:41:53.:41:58.

The mud has been nuts, and they are hitting the party on a Sunday night.

:41:59.:42:02.

I have seen so much this year. My mind is blown to smithereens.

:42:03.:42:11.

You know what, Gemma's energy is the same as it was when we got here. I

:42:12.:42:16.

am losing my voice, but she has enough voice for all of us. She has

:42:17.:42:22.

such a vitality. She is lovely. I passed the family the other day who

:42:23.:42:25.

were talking about what they enjoyed. Their kid was about six and

:42:26.:42:30.

he was going, I really loved Arcadia and the big spider! How much would

:42:31.:42:35.

that blow your mind if you were a six-year-old kid? Talking about

:42:36.:42:38.

things blowing your mind, Beck was here earlier. So many people were

:42:39.:42:42.

clamouring to see what he had to offer.

:42:43.:43:02.

# Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists

:43:03.:43:36.

# Neptune's lips taste like fermented wine

:43:37.:43:58.

# Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists

:43:59.:44:30.

# Let the handcuffs slip off your wrists

:44:31.:45:13.

APPLAUSE. Melody, that was Sexx Laws and that

:45:14.:46:02.

was not The New Pollution, but it was Beck! Puku the cat dragged in!

:46:03.:46:13.

You wanted to see me? Well done! How does it feel straight after doing

:46:14.:46:18.

something like that? Just so happy. And grateful. It was quite

:46:19.:46:24.

emotional, more poignant than before and also joyous. Life is emotional.

:46:25.:46:31.

Did you mean to reflect that? I cannot help that. And the audience

:46:32.:46:41.

was so wonderful. Lovely. It is a mistake to interview me! What about

:46:42.:46:48.

Barry Gibb? I was impressed to see world champion swinging a disco

:46:49.:46:57.

number like him! Heeded! He did. I said three months ago, what do you

:46:58.:47:05.

think about this? Because Robert and Morris have gone, bring back the Bee

:47:06.:47:12.

Gees. They were like, well... And one week later they had learned at!

:47:13.:47:17.

Will you ever be able to hit the high notes like can? At his age? No!

:47:18.:47:29.

He was so sweet. He was like, I don't know if anybody is going to

:47:30.:47:38.

remember it! That made me happy. Daisy agreed to it straightaway?

:47:39.:47:43.

Button away that you would imagine, like some superstar, are you sure?

:47:44.:47:50.

Yes, we definitely do. And how did he feel when it was finished? I have

:47:51.:47:54.

not seen him since. Can we talk about Michael Evers? Added that idea

:47:55.:48:02.

came about? Is 80th birthday, I saw him doing that. And my frontman took

:48:03.:48:07.

over that. That is the end of Glastonbury! It was the entire

:48:08.:48:15.

thing! And he loves to sing! Karaoke and stuff! There is something

:48:16.:48:20.

freeing about a Sunday night. Maybe people are very -- the people who

:48:21.:48:26.

are cool have already gone! I was thinking about destiny, the thing

:48:27.:48:32.

you did for while the beach was very heartfelt. And in a way, they made

:48:33.:48:43.

it to the Pyramid Stage. -- Viola Beach. You never know what is

:48:44.:48:49.

coming. None of us do. And it was trying to reflect. That is how I am

:48:50.:48:54.

trying to live at the moment. What is nice is, all other family was

:48:55.:49:01.

here. We had to e-mail them to say, is this OK? And they came down. That

:49:02.:49:10.

bit made me like... I have never seen you so emotional! They were so

:49:11.:49:19.

young. And I have seen lots of bands like that. Will you play Glastonbury

:49:20.:49:24.

again? I think people probably need a break from us! Congratulations for

:49:25.:49:30.
