Crocs. Paradise, I like that one. Hello and welcome to the final night

of Glastonbury 3016. We are the Coldplay fan club. There are only

two Mike remembers, and that is why we are here. What is your favourite?

Um, shiver. Mine is warning sign. Good evening, everybody. Coldplay of

course are at 9.30 this evening, headlining the Pyramid Stage. It has

been a great day, but the weather has not been the greatest. Never has

a festival needed the rainbows and vibrancy and enthusiasm to bring of

Coldplay to bring colour to the mud. Look at these shoes. I have lived

it, baby. But it has been a good day, despite the drizzle. We have a

lot coming up. We have a live acoustic, but first an artist who

was playing on the Pyramid Stage. It is Back. This is new pollution. --

Beck. # She's got the lily-white

in a strip mine ocean That is Beck from the Pyramid Stage

earlier today. And the set has included a David Bowie cover, for

obvious reasons. Speaking of David Bowie... We have Gemma out there,

with a different review to David Bowie. Tell us what is going on and

who you are with. There has been a particular emotional element to

Glastonbury this year, and that has a lot to do with the fact that we

have lost so many musical icons. There have been many DJ tributes and

covers of Prince. There is Lemmy from Motorhead represented on The

Other Stage, and of course, we cannot forget one of our biggest

losses of 2016, Bowie. And this lady has just created something

spectacular so that we can remember him in a phenomenal light. Tell me

about this. Well, I was talking with some home educational people in

Brighton who needed a giant puppet to represent individuality of style,

so between the three of us, we went, Bowie! And it gave me the

opportunity. When he died, I am not the Uber fan I see all over

Glastonbury, but to me, he was a constant through my life. And he

also showed me how to be an individual, whether it was conscious

or not. And I felt a real loss. It was like a bolt to the heart. And

this was a labour of love. How have people reacted to this? It is so

big. It has been awesome. The responses have been amazing,

gobsmacking. They have had me going up and down, round and about. We

have had tears, laughter and everything. Usually, I make things

and I am used to people going, that's amazing and things like that.

And that is great, but it has been overwhelming, because people have

been coming up thanking me all over the place. Well, it's so beautiful.

All weekend, we have been following the different tributes to David

Bowie. Here is a little about that. -- a little film about that. For

many, me included, David Bowie was a cultural icon and perhaps the

greatest, most innovative British pop artist of them all. He provided

his fans with the soundtrack to their lives, and this weekend, they

have been out in force to celebrate him in their own special ways. It

still hurts now when I think about it, that he has passed away. Do

don't think there will ever be another David Bowie. There is no one

better than Bowie. We have got to honour him at Glastonbury. I just

wanted to create something for people to come along and sing along

and celebrate his life. # With as a star man waiting in the

sky. # He'd like to come and meet us but

he thinks he'd blow our mind. The connection between David Bowie

and the festival runs deep, and he even appeared that the very first

one, the legendary Glastonbury Fayre. David Bowie played here first

in anti-71. I think he went on stage at the break -- in 1971.

He didn't have a vehicle, he just came with the guitar on his back,

with lovely long and hippie clothes. He really looked the part. I didn't

have a clue who he was. But I listened to him sing out for 30

a.m.. -- at 4.30. Then he came back in

2000 and did a storming set on the Pyramid. Probably one of the best

things I have seen on the Pyramid. I have just written this one. That was

the first time I played Glastonbury in 1971. Oh, Glastonbury!

A very special celebration of David Bowie at this year's festival took

place last night in a thrilling performance of Philip Glass'

Symphony in four, which was inspired by Bowie's 1977 album, Heroes. We

are looking at Heroes, reimagined by another iconoclastic genius, Philip

Glass. He was close to Bowie and was an enormous influence.

We have been hearing groups all day, and this was a totally different

feeling. I forget makes it more fitting for Bowie, because it had to

be something unique. The hypnotic music was like a collective vigil.

And this afternoon, even the security guards got in on the act,

dancing along as part of a Star man flash mob on the Pyramid Stage,

overlooked by Bowie's all seeing eye. The weekend's events have got

me thinking about my favourite Bowie moment, and there are quite a few.

But one of them has to be the conclusion of his final performance

at Glastonbury, with his anthem, Heroes.

# We could be heroes, just for one day.

That is a hell of a song, it really is. It's very exciting, and very

romantic. He was the bees knees in that sense.

There have been some beautiful tributes, and none more beautiful

than the one last night. I was watching the orchestra on the Park

Stage last night. It was an incredible moment, straight after

Adele. Everyone crowded up here. We are 15 minutes away from Coldplay

taking to the Pyramid Stage. Lots of rumours, people gossiping about who

might be joining them, maybe one of the Bee Gees. There were rumours

that we are had been spotted at Glastonbury. I haven't seen her!

This is it, things start and then it goes around the festival. We will

find out what happens. Right now, we have Clara at the front of the

Pyramid Stage. Maybe she has her own ideas. What is going on? Here we are

again at the Pyramid Stage on Sunday evening at Glastonbury. The sun

hasn't quite set, and we are feeling the energy again of the 150,000

people, who I feel have all rushed forward to come and catch Will,

Johnny, Guy and of course Chris on the stage. They will be with us in

about 15 minutes, making what I think of their fourth appearance on

the Pyramid Stage, first performing here in 1999 and with you again from

9:30 p.m.. I like how Clara's hair looks like the Pyramid Stage as

well! So in 15 minutes, we will bring you Coldplay live, closing

Glastonbury 2016. Some acoustic performances now. The lady you are

about to listen to have had a certain degree of success, but she

was playing a place called bread and Roses, which is a tiny little pub.

That was where she was spotted playing much the same way that Adele

was playing in the Guardian tent years ago and then ended up playing

on the Pyramid Stage. No pressure! We would love to hear from you.

Aine Cahill, thank you so much for joining us. How was Thursday? It was

one of the best experiences of my life, to be able to play at

Glastonbury, and this is even better. One of the best things about

Glastonbury is you will get new fans, did you get some sense of

that? Yes, you could see as the performance went on, it started to

build, which I was surprised about because we usually play with the

full band and thought myself and the piano might not work for the

festival but I was so delighted, just delighted! What have you

enjoyed about the Festival? We watched a Dell last night. Just

walking around and you will not even get to see all of it. Just being

here, it is an experience in itself. And the amazing view behind us! That

is what I said. All my God! You can see everything. The weather has set

in! Coldplay coming up but we shall go to a woman who followed ELO this

afternoon. Chibok an injection of pop and vitality to the festival.

parts? When I got here on Friday morning, I ran to the Other Stage

because James were starting and I had them play on the issue of the

week before and they were great. You worry when somebody opens up, how

many people will be there but the field was full and it was the most

superb set and then I saw Christine and the Queen 's so if you want to

fall in love with the new act, that is everybody's favourite. Lots of

people are talking about that. What about you? The one that would stick

out so far is Fatboy Slim, yesterday, unbelievable, it was 30

deep outside, it was a perfect set at 9pm and today, Catfish and the

Bottlemen the bottle men, they are the headliners of the future. They

were just one point. They just got it. Let us get better and this

evening. We are few moments away from Coldplay headlining for the

fourth time at the world's greatest festival. Here is a history of the

band doing that. I don't know if anybody has ever heard of us, but we

are called Coldplay! Yes, there was a time when some of us had not heard

of Coldplay. Tonight we're on the cusp of Glastonbury folklore,

preparing to headline the Pyramid Stage for a record-breaking fourth

time. It is amazing we have got to headline this Ford times,

incredible. Making their debut on the Other Stage into thousands, they

had head but they were not yet superstar material. # Look at the

stars... We might have looked like for students he had won a

competition and in many ways that is what had happened! The first

headline slot in 2000 and two was a huge leg up to the pop Premiership.

We got called up really early and it was a big deal, the equivalent of

scoring a goal and bubbly. The world watched in wonder, transfixed by the

blinding set. Somebody said before we went on stage, but every do,

don't stare at the laser! I could not help but! We came off stage with

better eyesight! And I have some hair on my back but was gone! And in

2005 when the rain and mud threatened to drench the spirit of

Glastonbury, Coldplay knocked the weather or off the front page. Chris

Martin Road and old to the magic that defines their favourite

festival. # The weather does no harm... Michael Evers and the Worthy

Farm! Is a macro give me mud, up to my knees... Such a special place to

us, we loved that audience. # Every watcher for... In 2011 they

headlined for a third time, setting the probe and light with a stage

show but proved they had graduated into global rock icons. # Every

teardrop... Tonight it will be a heroes welcome as a return to the

West Country residence. Our home does appears for 360 Air two days a

year, this is like on. -- 362. They have been on the road since March

this year and now we bring them to you live on BBC Two. Headlining

Glastonbury on this glorious Sunday evening, ladies and gentlemen, we

give you... Coldplay! We all want to help one another. We

want to live by each other's happiness, not misery, we don't want

to hate and despise one another. This world can provide for everyone.

Do not despair. The misery that is upon us is the passing of creed, the

gift earth, what the Glastonbury audience gives to artists. I wish I

could tell you how it felt. And... Normally, we are on tour and what we

do at this point is we would play heroes by David Bowie. And it is

great. What we shall do something a little different. When we started in

1986, we got a record deal in 1999 and replayed Glastonbury at the John

Peel Stage. Maybe you have seen the next Adeles and that kind of thing

but at the beginning of this year, you might have read about that

beautiful band, Viola Beach, who had just got signed and went through a

tragic accident. They got taken away. And we thought that was just

the worst. It reminded us of the other bands that come through for --

three here, the excitement and joy and we hope and we relief felt that

in them. Instead of playing heroes, we are going to create Viola Beach's

alternate future for them and let them headline last brief for us! So,

Chris and Jack, Thomas and the manager, Craig, this is what would

have been new in 20 years or whatever. I hope this will do you

when that was on and on that massive crowd I found my family and the time

I spent with them sums up what Coldplay are about, having the time

moment, it is all about love. That was wonderful. It was euphoric. I

thought the tribute to Viola Beach was heartfelt. And who knew Coldplay

could do disco! World champion onstage strumming! And everybody was

of the monitor equipment up before they went on and they have stolen

some stuff from one of the BBC tents. And that is why we are here

in this little dome! We are close to the Pyramid Stage. Under the

That was on the Other Stage. The alternative to Coldplay this

evening. We have some Beck for you. And an acoustic set from John

Taylor. We're still marooned on the stage on the hill. We came down the

mudslide from that stage but she was stuck at the top. It has been a

hectic weekend, it has been towering, when it is muddy, it has

not rained much but whenever you cannot sit down and you are wading

through this ankle-deep mud. We have been flown around in sedan chairs,

obviously! These have come from wardrobe! I went to Earth, Wind and

Fire and they have never worn a pair of wellies in their lives ever! They

were pristine. Why are we wearing these? What are we doing here? They

are at the West Holts stage! I felt sorry for them. The end of the

Healing Fields is a good place to end up for the weekend to detox and

James Maloney is out there. The final day of the festival, a little

bit of rain and a little bit of mud, but what a festival. I started in

Glastonbury time with Michael Labour's. And then last night,

things got pretty wild. Today, I have come up to Greenfields for a

cup of tea. In the midst of adversity and treacherous weather

conditions, you have some clotted cream. Lovely! Home-made jam.

Life-saver! How has business been? Weeded twice as many on Thursday and

Friday as last year. 800 scones. That is a lot of scones and jam.

Gallons of jam. Any sugar? I don't want to get a sugar high whenever I

am trying to chill! Still warm! That hit the spot. I have come here to

the healing Fields. Because my shoulders are a little bit tight.

Can I have a massage? Ahh. But is great. Can you feel

those knots? You are an expert in helping people to relax. What is a

relaxing part of Glastonbury? I love green fields. I love being outside

in the summer, you can always come here and find a nice place to just

chill. There you go. You have just got that knot. I might have a little

wonder, down here, to see what else is here.

he was quite exposed and had a big slot, but in that John Peel tent, it

miles is the Park Stage. We are going to have a live session from

from the Eurythmics. She's put her time between Detroit and Michigan.

on the Park Stage, not far from where you just saw that acoustic.

That was Grimes on the Park Stage. There were times at past festivals

when you would walk past The Other Stage and no matter what time it

was, there were always four moody people with fringes staring at

effects pedals. Doesn't happen nowadays. Laura Mvula had some great

dancers today. It sets them apart. When you go and see a band, you want

to performance, something to feast your eyes on. This is a great event.

Makes me feel wholly adequate, being completely unable to dance. Speak

for yourself. You have got all the moves. I often interpret music

through the medium of dance. Want to do it now? We have an audience. It

is a bit late, everybody is winding down, let's leave it. Let's go and

see Gemma instep. She is obviously having the time of her life. I think

she is in Arcadia, which is of course where you have the best fun.

In so many ways, Glastonbury has been more unforgettable than ever

before, more special and more important. It is more than about the

headliners, more than the party or the copious amounts of glitter you

can put on yourself. It is about coming together, adding in the mud

and enjoying yourself. My goodness, here we are at Arcadia, the Sunday

night finale. It is infamous for its madness, it's industrialism, it's

dancing. Basement Jack played here earlier. What a way to finish off an

incredible festival one of the festivals on the planet if you ask

me. Look at these guys! It hasn't been easy, but they are still here.

The mud has been nuts, and they are hitting the party on a Sunday night.

I have seen so much this year. My mind is blown to smithereens.

You know what, Gemma's energy is the same as it was when we got here. I

am losing my voice, but she has enough voice for all of us. She has

such a vitality. She is lovely. I passed the family the other day who

were talking about what they enjoyed. Their kid was about six and

he was going, I really loved Arcadia and the big spider! How much would

that blow your mind if you were a six-year-old kid? Talking about

things blowing your mind, Beck was here earlier. So many people were

clamouring to see what he had to offer.
