# Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

0:00:440:00:47

# And this house just ain't no home

0:00:470:00:50

# Anytime she goes away

0:00:500:00:54

# And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know

0:01:180:01:23

# Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

# Only darkness everyday

0:01:320:01:39

# Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

0:01:590:02:06

Thank you.

APPLAUSE

0:02:130:02:17

Thank you. Appreciate that.

0:02:190:02:21

It's kind of nice for us to be back over here again.

0:02:210:02:25

Some of the people who normally would have come with us

0:02:250:02:28

are sick in one way or another, but it's nice to be back over here.

0:02:280:02:33

It's kind of fun to be travelling from one large city

0:02:330:02:39

to another large city, all over the world.

0:02:390:02:42

Cities have things about them that,

0:02:420:02:45

if you are from a very small place like I am,

0:02:450:02:49

when you first come to a very large place,

0:02:490:02:52

you feel that maybe you might be a little odd there.

0:02:520:02:56

But when you get there, you find out that

0:02:560:02:59

maybe if you lived in some place where they had maybe 800 people

0:02:590:03:03

and you knew all 800 people, you were much better off

0:03:030:03:07

than if you'd been in some place where

0:03:070:03:11

there were 8 million people and you didn't really know anybody.

0:03:110:03:16

SONG: "Lonely Town, Lonely Street"

0:03:190:03:21

# You can live your life in a crowded city

0:03:440:03:50

# You can walk along a crowded street

0:03:570:04:02

# But the city really ain't no bigger

0:04:090:04:15

# Than the friendly people friendly people that you meet

0:04:210:04:28

# You might be a sweet, young sweet, young, pretty, pretty

0:04:340:04:39

# And at the dances you can't keep your seat

0:04:460:04:53

# But, if dances don't lead to romances, no, no, no

0:04:580:05:06

# You might as well be born be born with two left feet

0:05:100:05:17

# You might be a sweet-toned sure 'nuff high-class talker

0:05:230:05:30

# You might be a stone stone expert at kissing

0:05:350:05:42

# But it don't do too much good to be talkin'

0:05:480:05:55

# Brother, when there ain't no ain't nobody listening

0:06:000:06:07

# And if you are shy just not much of a talker

0:06:120:06:19

# And you don't impress the people that you meet

0:06:240:06:31

# You might as well be a lonely walker

0:06:370:06:42

# In a lonely town on a lonely street

0:06:490:06:56

# Hey, ha, ha

0:06:590:07:02

# Hey, hey, ha, ha, na

0:07:020:07:07

# Hey, ha, na

0:07:070:07:11

# Hey, hey, ha, ha, na

0:07:110:07:15

# Hey, hey, ha, ha, na. #

0:07:150:07:21

APPLAUSE

0:07:260:07:29

Thank you.

0:07:300:07:32

Most of us, at some point in our...

0:07:390:07:44

lives...

0:07:440:07:46

..get our tongues tied up and can't say what we intended to,

0:07:480:07:51

so I'll take another crack at it.

0:07:510:07:53

Mmm.

0:07:540:07:56

Most of us, at some point in our lives,

0:07:580:08:02

have somebody that means more to us than anybody else

0:08:020:08:07

has ever meant before or will ever mean again.

0:08:070:08:10

Sometimes it's a long-legged lady, if you're a man.

0:08:100:08:13

Or some tall, very smooth man, if you're a woman.

0:08:130:08:18

And in some odd cases they get kind of crossed-up,

0:08:200:08:23

we won't talk about those.

0:08:230:08:25

But in my case, I learned how to really love somebody

0:08:260:08:30

from not a very pretty lady, not at that point in her life,

0:08:300:08:35

not sexy at all, but just a nice old lady

0:08:350:08:40

who used some very nice old, gnarled hands

0:08:400:08:45

to make life kind of nice for me at that time,

0:08:450:08:49

when I really needed somebody.

0:08:490:08:52

And it wasn't after I got older and started to look around for things,

0:08:520:08:56

it was before I even knew what I was looking for.

0:08:560:08:59

And probably, since I consider myself

0:08:590:09:01

somebody who writes, primarily,

0:09:010:09:03

out of all the things that I might have written,

0:09:030:09:07

my favourite thing that I've written

0:09:070:09:10

has to be about this favourite old lady of mine.

0:09:100:09:13

SONG: "Grandma's Hands"

0:09:130:09:16

# Mmm, mmm

0:09:160:09:19

# Mmm, mmm

0:09:190:09:22

# Mmm, mmm

0:09:220:09:24

# Mmm, mmm

0:09:250:09:27

# Grandma's hands

0:09:270:09:30

# Clapped in church on Sunday morning

0:09:300:09:34

# Grandma's hands

0:09:340:09:36

# Played a tambourine so well

0:09:360:09:40

# Grandma's hands

0:09:400:09:43

# Used to issue out a warning

0:09:430:09:46

# She'd say

0:09:460:09:48

# Billy, don't you run so fast

0:09:480:09:51

# Might fall on a piece of glass

0:09:510:09:54

# Might be snakes there in that grass

0:09:540:09:58

# Grandma's hands

0:09:580:10:00

# Then Grandma's hands

0:10:030:10:06

# Soothed a local unwed mother

0:10:060:10:10

# Grandma's hands

0:10:100:10:12

# Used to ache sometimes and swell

0:10:120:10:17

# Grandma's hands

0:10:170:10:19

# Used to lift her face and tell her

0:10:190:10:23

# She'd say

0:10:230:10:24

# Baby, Grandma understands

0:10:240:10:27

# That you really love that man

0:10:270:10:31

# Put yourself in Jesus' hands

0:10:310:10:35

# Grandma's hands

0:10:350:10:38

# Then Grandma's hands

0:10:400:10:43

# Used to hand me piece of candy

0:10:430:10:47

# Grandma's hands

0:10:470:10:49

# Picked me up each time I fell

0:10:490:10:53

# Grandma's hands

0:10:530:10:56

# Boy, they really came in handy

0:10:560:10:58

# And then she'd say

0:10:580:11:01

# Matty, don't you whip that boy

0:11:010:11:04

# What you want to spank him for?

0:11:040:11:08

# He didn't drop no apple core

0:11:080:11:10

# But I don't have Grandma anymore

0:11:100:11:14

# If I get to Heaven, I'll look for

0:11:140:11:18

# Grandma's hands. #

0:11:180:11:21

APPLAUSE

0:11:280:11:32

Thank you.

0:11:360:11:37

Usually after that point in your life,

0:11:400:11:42

the ladies that you meet have a whole other kind of use for you.

0:11:420:11:46

SONG: "Use Me"

0:11:480:11:50

# My friends

0:12:120:12:17

# Feel it's their appointed duty

0:12:170:12:20

# They keep trying to tell me

0:12:240:12:30

# All you want to do is use me

0:12:300:12:33

# Ha, ha, but my answer, ha, ha

0:12:370:12:43

# Yeah, to all that use me stuff

0:12:430:12:46

# Ah-ha, I wanna spread the news

0:12:500:12:54

# That if it feels this good getting used

0:12:540:12:57

# Oh, you just keep on using me

0:12:570:13:01

# Until you use me up

0:13:030:13:06

# Until you use me up

0:13:100:13:12

# My big brother

0:13:160:13:22

# Sit me right down in a room

0:13:220:13:24

# And talked to me

0:13:240:13:27

# You know he told me, ah-ha

0:13:300:13:35

# That I ought not to let you just walk on me

0:13:350:13:38

# And I'm sure he meant well, ah-ha

0:13:420:13:48

# Yeah, but when our talk was through

0:13:480:13:52

# I had to say brother, if you only knew

0:13:550:13:59

# You'd wish that you were in my shoes

0:13:590:14:03

# You just keep on using me like you wanna

0:14:030:14:08

# Until you use me up

0:14:080:14:10

# Until you use me up

0:14:140:14:16

# Oh, and you know sometimes

0:14:200:14:26

# It's true you really do abuse me

0:14:260:14:29

# Like to get me among your high-class friends

0:14:320:14:39

# And then you act real rude to me

0:14:390:14:43

# But oh, baby, baby, baby, baby

0:14:460:14:52

# When you love me I can't get enough

0:14:520:14:55

# I-I and I wanna spread the news

0:14:590:15:03

# That if it feels this good getting used

0:15:030:15:06

# Oh, you just keep on using me

0:15:060:15:09

# Until you use me up

0:15:110:15:13

# Until you use me up

0:15:170:15:19

# Talking about you using me

0:15:250:15:28

# But it all depends on what you do

0:15:280:15:31

# It ain't too bad the way you're using me

0:15:310:15:34

# Cos I sure am using you

0:15:340:15:37

# To do that thing you do

0:15:370:15:39

# Ah-ha, do that thing you do. #

0:15:420:15:45

SONG: "Let Me In Your Life"

0:16:010:16:04

# La, la, la

0:16:370:16:42

# La, la

0:16:440:16:48

# I only want to love you

0:16:550:17:01

# Please don't push me away

0:17:020:17:06

# Let me in your life

0:17:120:17:17

# I wasn't even there when he hurt you

0:17:250:17:30

# So why should I have to pay?

0:17:330:17:38

# Let me in your life

0:17:420:17:48

# I want to share

0:17:520:17:56

# Your tomorrows

0:17:590:18:04

# So I must beg you today

0:18:100:18:17

# If he's the cause

0:18:250:18:29

# Of your sorrows

0:18:290:18:33

# Be glad that he's gone away

0:18:400:18:46

# I need someone, let me love you

0:18:550:19:01

# Please don't push me away

0:19:020:19:08

# Let me in your life

0:19:120:19:17

# La, la, la

0:19:210:19:26

APPLAUSE

0:20:240:20:27

# Sometimes in our lives

0:20:500:20:55

# We all have pain

0:20:550:20:59

# We all have sorrow

0:20:590:21:05

# But if we are wise

0:21:050:21:10

# We know that there's

0:21:100:21:13

# Always tomorrow

0:21:130:21:18

# Lean on me

0:21:180:21:21

# When you're not strong

0:21:210:21:24

# And I'll be your friend

0:21:240:21:28

# I'll help you carry on

0:21:280:21:33

# For it won't be long

0:21:330:21:38

# Till I'm gonna need

0:21:380:21:42

# Somebody to lean on

0:21:420:21:46

# Please, swallow your pride

0:21:480:21:53

# If I have things

0:21:530:21:57

# You need to borrow

0:21:570:22:02

# For no-one can fill

0:22:020:22:07

# Those of your needs

0:22:070:22:11

# That you won't let show

0:22:110:22:15

# You just call on me brother

0:22:150:22:19

# When you need a hand

0:22:190:22:22

# We all need somebody

0:22:220:22:25

# To lean on

0:22:250:22:29

# I just might have a problem

0:22:290:22:33

# That you'll understand

0:22:330:22:36

# We all need somebody to lean on

0:22:360:22:43

# Lean on me

0:22:430:22:46

# That you'll understand

0:23:290:23:32

# We all need somebody to lean on

0:23:320:23:38

# If there is a load

0:23:400:23:45

# You have to bear

0:23:450:23:48

# That you can't carry

0:23:480:23:54
