When we go back to the beginning for you,

travelling to Nashville,

meeting up with Porter Wagoner and recording. What was that like?

-At that time, Porter Wagoner was huge.

-Absolutely.

Him and Dolly Parton were recording together.

God, when I heard...

I was, literally, lifted from the kitchen sink

and put out into Nashville. I thought I'd see boys

sitting on the street all playing guitars.

I didn't, but you know what Nashville's like.

But it was great. When I went into the studio to read...

I was a big Porter Wagoner fan, a big Dolly Parton fan.

But to go in and meet all the musicians that played with them

on their albums through the years and they were playing along with me,

I couldn't believe it. I really... It was a wonderful feeling.

-Beyond a dream?

It was beyond a dream. It was brilliant.

Now, of course, you've had a wonderful career,

-but difficult for you, with a family.

-It wasn't easy.

My daughter Linda, she's with us tonight at the concert, she was only

a year old when I started in the business and our son Brendan,

who's away working hard, he was three...coming on three.

So it was difficult to leave them, but as I say, I had Dennis with me

and my mum and dad were living then, at that stage.

I had a great girl lived in with them. But I'm really enjoying

my grandchildren now, cos I missed out on me own.

Of course, this is your night, this is your show, but maybe,

-I would get to sing a couple of wee words with you?
