-I'm the third generation

-to judge at the Show.

-My grandfather was a judge in 1982,

-my father in 1993...

-..and I'm doing so this year.

-It is quite an honour.

-I think she's capable enough.

-I've taught her properly.

-Hopefully!

-I feel that there is

-more pressure on me.

-When my grandfather judged in

-1982, there were only ten entries.

-There are 60 this year

-so there will be more pressure.

-Dad will be keeping an eye

-from the side-lines.

-That's what worries me the most!

-I'll judge the sheep

-and Dad will judge the judge.

-There will be ructions

-on the way home!

-John, Meinir is judging

-and you know her better than anyone.

-What kind of animal

-will she be looking for?

-She'll be looking for one

-How did your interest

-in all this gardening start?

-When I was a child, one of our

-teachers took us to a show in Conwy.

-I also found out two years ago...

-..that my grandfather

-used to show sweet peas.

-He was from Anglesey.

-It's in the blood.

-It must do

-but it skipped one generation.

-What is the skill of flower

-arranging and how do you learn?

-You're always looking

-for perfection.

-Your skills are always improving.

-You need good flowers

-and you must know about plants.

-Some varieties grow better

-than others.

-By doing that you can do well.

-I didn't do too well last year

-but I raised my game this year...

-..and it's paid off.

-What is the pleasure you get from

-gardening and being outdoors?

-The pleasure comes from ...

-..being able to go out into the

-fresh air and experience nature.

-I am in my element and gardening

-skills are fantastic.

-You have to know about the weather

-and the landscape.

-That is all important to me.

-breeds holding their own so well...

-..mixed in with

-their continental cousins.

-has been reached in the industry.

-We've realised that we need a

-sprinkling of these native breeds.

-I think the Simmental are ahead
