alerts by both Interpol and the United States are warning embassies

and Germany have all announced the tech ril closure of embassieses in

Yemen. The United States will close at least 21 embassies and consulates

for two-days from tomorrow after it intercepted Al-Qaeda messages

"significant threat." Around the Middle East and North Africa two

dozen US missions will close tomorrow. It's America's response to

experienced abuse on the website, Tony Wang said the verbal attack,

which included threats of murder and rape, were simply not acceptable. He

also announced the company is adding a "report abuse" button to each

tweet displayed on its website. Some high profile women have had to

endure bomb threats like this one. Other tweets threatened violence,

rape and even death merely for having an opinion. Caroline

Criado-Perez received hundreds of threatening messages and pictures on

Twitter when she campaigned to have a woman on the back of the new �10.

She won that campaign. Her treatment in cyberspace highlighted a serious

issue for many. She still receives threats, other people are as well.

It's important this week becomes the start of the process of change and

we change the culture that say it is's inevitable that women will is

just have to cope with them. It's not for us to cope, it's for society

company said it was hiring more staff to monitor abusive comments

be an abusive message I can report the matter using this red

next month. The real issue with Twitter, you can set up an account

easily, if you are an abuser you can set up and start again. Could

genuine debate be stifled people reporting as abusive what is a

passionate debate? Today's promise of action by Twitter is a small, but

significant step towards protecting those in a virtual world who are

people have been killed and more than 20 wounded in an attack outside
