The Government says it's doing

everything it can to keep the serial

sex attacker John Worboys in jail.

The former black cab

driver was granted parole

after serving nine years,

but victims and campaigners say

he shouldn't be released so early.

Every victim out there,

every friend and family of victims,

and anybody who has read about this

case, will

want to know that we are doing

everything we can to make sure that

the victims are properly protected.

The Ukip leader, Henry Bolton,

is facing calls to resign,

after his girlfriend makes offensive

remarks about Meghan Markle.

A manhunt is under way

in East Yorkshire after a suspected

attack with a crossbow left one man

dead and a woman seriously injured.

And in the Premier League Manchester

City's unbeaten run comes

to an end in a seven-goal

thriller at Liverpool.

The new Conservative Party Chairman,

Brandon Lewis, has told the BBC

the Government is doing everything

it can to ensure the

serial sex offender

John Worboys stays in prison.

The former black cab driver

was jailed in 2009 for drugging

and sexually assaulting 12 women,

but police believe he may

have committed more

than a hundred attacks.

The Government is considering

seeking judicial review

into the Parole Board's decision

to release him.

Here's our home affairs

correspondent, Danny Shaw.

He is known as the black cab rapist.

John Worboys is believed to have

drugged and sexually assaulted

more than 100 women.

Yet the parole board has decided

that after ten years in custody,

it is safe for him to be released,

and he is due out by

the end of the month.

The Government wants to stop that

happening and is looking

at the possibility of legal action.

Anybody out there will appreciate

just how awful this must

be for victims, to see

what is happening.

To think about somebody like that

being out on the streets.

The Secretary of State for Justice

will be doing everything he can

to make sure this man

stays behind bars.

The Justice Secretary has been

in the post less than one week.

He wants to know if it's plausible

to contest the release decision in

the courts, and if there is a good

chance of success. Lawyers for some

of the victims are also considering

legal action.

We have been looking

into legal challenge of the decision

by the parole board. We can also

look at the rules which prohibit any

publication of the reasons for the

decision, something that the

Secretary of State content of

because they are his rules.

It would

be highly unusual for the Government

to launch a legal challenge against

the parole board, an organisation it

is responsible for. And if the case

ends up here at the High Court,

there's no guarantee of success.

Would it be difficult? That depends

on the quality of the

decision-making. If this was a bad

decision, one which no reasonable

decision maker could have reached,

or for some reason it failed to

follow the procedures, for example,

it has been said that the victims,

or some of them, weren't consulted,

it is quite possible the decision

was unlawful. It is so unusual is

that it's not usually the Secretary

of State for Justice making those

arguments.

In the meantime,

preparations are continuing for John

Worboys' release. Some are concerned

that the serial sex offender will

try to track them down.

Ukip leader Henry Bolton is under

pressure to resign after his

girlfriend was suspended for making

offensive remarks about Meghan

Markle. The leader hasn't made any

comment. Here's our political

correspondent, Alex Forsyth. When

Henry Bolton took over as Ukip

leader, he promised a new direction.

We as a party are a party of

leaders.

Just four months into the

job, there are already questions

over his future. It relates to his

relationship with this woman - Jo

Marni. The mail on Sunday revealed

text messages she sent in which he

said Meghan Markle had a tiny brain

and would taint the Royal family.

And she called black people ugly. In

a statement, she reportedly said her

comments were unnecessary, reckless

and overly exaggerated for effect,

and offered her sincere and deepest

apologies to anyone she had hurt,

and for the distress and

embarrassment caused to family,

friends and the party. She has been

suspended, and some Ukip members

think their leader should quit.

I

don't want to talk about his

personal life. It's entirely up to

him. But it is impacting on

activists now, and they are working

down hard, and it's not fair on them

and the rest of us. Henry, do the

right thing, the honourable thing,

stand aside and let us get on with

business.

So far, no official

comment from Henry Bolton, but

senior figures say he has some tough

choices.

He is increasingly in a

position where he has some difficult

decisions to make. He knows that. He

and I have spoken recently over the

weekend, as recently as this

morning. I know he's

morning. I know he's focused on

those decisions today and he intends

to make those decisions today. I'm

sure whatever he does will be in the

best interests of the party.

After

riding high following the Brexit

referendum, Ukip is again facing

turmoil. Even Nigel Farage said

tonight he wouldn't consider

returning as leader, even for a

second.

Humberside Police are looking

for a man they want to question

in connection with a murder thought

to have been committed

with a crossbow.

Shane Gilmer, who was 30,

died in hospital after the attack,

at his home in the village

of Southburn on Friday.

His pregnant girlfriend

was seriously injured.

correspondent, Fiona Trott,

is at Humberside Police Headquarters

for us this evening.

The latest information we have from

the police is that Laura Sugden and

her unborn baby are in a stable

condition in hospital this evening.

We also know that a crossbow was

found at the scene of that fatal

attack. It's currently being

examined by detectives. And

Humberside Police at night confirmed

the name of a suspect they want to

speak to in connection with the

killing. Murdered in his own home -

30-year-old Shane Gilmer died in

hospital yesterday. His pregnant

partner, Laura Sugden, survived the

attack. This evening, an appeal by

the police: They want to question a

man in connection with the murder.

We don't believe that Mr Lawrence is

a threats to the wider public. This

is an isolated incident and he was

known to both Shane and Laura. In

fact, they were neighbours. We don't

know how he will react if

challenged, however, so please don't

approach. Just call 999 and leave it

to us.

56-year-old Anthony Lawrence

is also known as Tony Howarth. He is

described as white with short dark

hair, around five feet ten, and with

a large bill. Every police force

across the UK is

across the UK is looking out for

him. Two days after this attack, the

village is still cordoned off,

detectives are still at the scene.

There is a chord in at the other end

of South Byrne. People are asked for

their identity as they come in and

out. Overnight, police dog teams and

a helicopter were out searching for

whoever was responsible for this

attack. Villagers in this quiet

corner of East Yorkshire can't

believe what's happened. Police are

asking them and anyone else with

Talks to secure the future

of the struggling construction giant

Carillion are expected

to continue into tomorrow.

The company, which holds several key

Government contracts,

owes more than £900 million pounds

to a number of banks.

Ministers say they're keeping

a close eye on the situation.

Here's our business

correspondent, Joe Lynam.

Carillion is probably

the biggest British company

you have never heard of.

If it collapsed, there is concern

about who would take over at short

notice. It is not just public

services that would be affected.

Thousands of private firms in the

construction sector are also

dependent on Carillion for

subcontracted work.

We cover 65% of

steel contract work in the UK, which

is worth £3 billion to the economy.

It represents 120,000 workers. If

you multiply that across all of the

sub trades in the UK, the effect on

subcontractors could be significant.

Today there was a flurry of activity

at the Cabinet Office, it self

having a face-lift. Pulling together

all the different strands of

Government dependent on Carillion.

Because Carillion carries out so

much work for so many different arms

of Government, it needs to be

coordinated here at the Cabinet

Office. What they are working on

today is contingency plans. So,

should the company collapsed - and

it is a big should - then they are

ready to continue working in schools

and hospitals and there won't be so

much interruption to services.

Sources tell the BBC that banks

would be prepared to show more

patience towards Carillion if the

Government supports the company as

well. But a public bailouts of a

private business could be

politically toxic. Joe Lynam, BBC

An Iranian oil tanker is reported

to have sunk in the East China Sea,

eight days after bursting

into flames, following

a collision with another ship.

The vessel had been transporting

nearly a million barrels of oil

from Iran to South Korea.

All 32 crew members

are presumed dead.

More than 160 passengers and crew

had a narrow escape,

when their plane skidded off

a runway in Turkey.

The Boeing 737 slid down a steep

slope, coming to rest just a few

metres from the edge of the Black

Sea.

One of the plane's engines broke

off, ending up in the water.

No passengers or crew were hurt.

Two of the world's leading

fashion photographers,

have been suspended from working

for Vogue and other magazines owned

by the publishing house Conde Nast.

The New York Times has

published a series of allegations

against Mario Testino

and Bruce Weber, that they sexually

harassed young male models.

They both deny the claims.

Adina Campbell reports.

He is one of the Royal family's

favourite photographers. Mario

Testino has been capturing famous

faces for four decades. But the New

York Times has published allegations

of sexual misconduct, with more than

a dozen male models and assistance

accusing the 63-year-old of indecent

behaviour. Testino's lawyers have

said his accusers cannot be

considered reliable sources. Another

well-known photographer, Bruce Weber

is also facing similar allegations.

He has denied any wrongdoing. But

Conde Nast, which publishes

magazines including Vogue and GQ has

taken action. In a statement, the

editor, who calls them both personal

friends has said, I take the

allegations very seriously, and we

at Conde Nast have decided to put

our working relationship with both

photographers on hold for the

foreseeable future. Vogue is a

global powerhouse. To grace one of

the front covers is a massive deal.

Mario Testino and Bruce Weber have

been responsible for some of those

images, but with allegations of

sexual exploitation swirling, their

futures are hanging in the balance.

There are now calls for more

regulation in the fashion world.

I

had been at shoes where I had been

inappropriately touched. I have had

inappropriate comments made to me. I

would like to see unions organised

to collectively bargain, and I would

like to see what the model alliance

of New York is proposing, an

independent body that would

represent models against major

players in the fashion industry.

These allegations are the latest to

rock the world of fashion,

entertainment and social media and

don't seem to be going away.

Liverpool have beaten Premier League

Liverpool's victory brings

to an end City's unbeaten

domestic run this season.

Arsenal were defeated 2-1

by Bournemouth and were

without their star forward,

Alexis Sanchez, whose future will be

decided "in the next 48 hours"

after he was left out of the team

for Sunday's 2-1

defeat at Bournemouth,

as Natalie Pirks reports.

With just one win at Anfield since

1981, Liverpool represented a giant

hurdle in Manchester City's quest

for stability, but they soon found

out why. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

with a superb strike to do some

early damage. City hit back, Leroy

Sane getting the better of glorious

carriers, at his near post, of all

things. But it was City who were

soon to have defensive nightmares.

Firmino got the better of John Stone

to make it 2-1. Minutes later,

Otamendi was pickpocketed by Sadio

Mane to make it three. And when

Ederson cleared wildly, it was

Mohamed Salah who would return to

the fold with a bang. But in a

remarkable match, City were not

going to lie down, two quick goal

sending Jurgen Klopp's heart rate

through the roof. So far, so

Liverpool. But Jurgen Klopp's men

held on, and City can no longer go

the whole season unbeaten. There is

a relief for Arsenal fans.

England's cricketers have made

an impressive start to their one-day

international series

against Australia, winning

their first game by five wickets.

It follows a disappointing 4-0

defeat in the Ashes Test series.

Today, though, Jason Roy hit

the highest one-day international

score by an Englishman -

a record 180.

For English cricket, a time to

rebuild, recover, restore some

respect and some reputations. A

fresh start, and it soon became a

rather good one from England, early

wickets falling. But this is

Australia, and after dominating all

winter, they weren't about to go

easy on their old rivals. A century

from Aaron Finch helping them

towards a total of 304. With days

gone by, such targets were imposing.

For this England one-day side, it

was really inviting, Jason Roy

taking up the challenge with the

kind of relish missed by England in

recent months, brilliantly

belligerent, he bludgeoned his way

to a magnificent 100. Taking the

game away from Australia, the

highest ever one-day international

innings by an England player. 184

Roy, the damage was done. Joe Root

was for once the support act. 91

from him. The win, when it came,

comfortable. For English cricket, it

could scarcely have been more

welcome.
