Good evening and welcome to the Boiler Shop, the very spot | :00:00. | :00:00.
where Stevenson built the world's first railway engines, | :00:00. | :00:08.
With a nod to the past, tonight Inside Out looks back | :00:09. | :00:15.
at some of our recent stories, to reveal what happens next. | :00:16. | :00:22.
We revisit Northumberland's specialist emergency hospital | :00:23. | :00:23.
where ambulance crews were queueing for hours on end. | :00:24. | :00:27.
This is fine tune to be able to run very, very well, and, yet, | :00:28. | :00:32.
as soon as things are imperfect, things start to come apart. | :00:33. | :00:38.
They jailed the crook who bought this County Durham mansion, | :00:39. | :00:41.
but has anybody been looking after it since? | :00:42. | :00:44.
And how a film about a county Durham set's mission to treat the street | :00:45. | :00:59.
dogs of Sri Lanka took the Internet by storm. | :01:00. | :01:02.
The video went viral, we had so much love on the Internet, | :01:03. | :01:06.
it was viewed millions and millions of times, which was beyond | :01:07. | :01:09.
I'm Chris Jackson and this is Inside Out The Update. | :01:10. | :01:26.
Helping me tonight is newspaper cartoonist David Howden, | :01:27. | :01:30.
who is going to draw his take on the stories and | :01:31. | :01:32.
So, what's grabbed you in recent months? | :01:33. | :01:38.
Well, it's the purpose-built emergency hospital in Cramlington, | :01:39. | :01:40.
where the ambulance crews are backed up in corridors because there's | :01:41. | :01:43.
Of course, the serious question is how things improved? | :01:44. | :01:49.
Cramlington's specialist emergency care hospital. | :01:50. | :02:03.
38-year-old Elizabeth has lost movement on her right side. | :02:04. | :02:10.
Raising her leg takes enormous effort. | :02:11. | :02:16.
Is it a mangled story or is it fairly clear-cut? | :02:17. | :02:22.
I think she had a couple of strokes in January. | :02:23. | :02:27.
Elizabeth is given thrombolysis, a clot busting drug. | :02:28. | :02:31.
The stroke, in her case at least, is caused by one of the blood | :02:32. | :02:35.
vessels to her brain being blocked off with a big blood clot. | :02:36. | :02:39.
And the thrombolysis dissolves that blood clot away and allows the blood | :02:40. | :02:42.
flow to get re-established and, hopefully, salvage some | :02:43. | :02:46.
of the area of brain that would otherwise be damaged. | :02:47. | :02:49.
Cramlington was designed to do the work of three A departments, | :02:50. | :02:52.
concentrate resources, treat cases fast. | :02:53. | :02:57.
Today, there are no queues, and it's not busy. | :02:58. | :03:00.
This isn't at all usual what we've had all winter. | :03:01. | :03:04.
It's going into a queue of 20-25, 30 people waiting to be seen. | :03:05. | :03:08.
When Inside Out reported last year, it was claimed the hospital was too | :03:09. | :03:11.
Although these pictures were taken more than a year ago, | :03:12. | :03:17.
ambulance staff are still routinely waiting to drop off sick people. | :03:18. | :03:20.
He's bleeding from the head badly, and he's in a queue | :03:21. | :03:25.
Back then, the chief executive said there was no evidence | :03:26. | :03:33.
of patients being harmed but acknowledged problems. | :03:34. | :03:37.
We have an issue at the moment with the way in which people | :03:38. | :03:41.
We have work going on to improve that. | :03:42. | :03:48.
Following the complaints, last November, the trust brought | :03:49. | :03:50.
They praise the hospital but said it was slow discharging patients | :03:51. | :03:54.
and had problems dealing with spikes in demand. | :03:55. | :03:57.
Our system now is in a much better state than it was when we first | :03:58. | :04:01.
opened our new health care facility at the Northumbria. | :04:02. | :04:06.
We have largely reduce the number of queues to a few peak times. | :04:07. | :04:10.
At busy times, we are pulling our consultants into the queue to do | :04:11. | :04:14.
an assessment of patients while they're being admitted to. | :04:15. | :04:17.
We have systems around the region where we can divert | :04:18. | :04:21.
Pamela arrives with a suspected broken arm. | :04:22. | :04:27.
Hello, my name's Craig, I'm looking after you. | :04:28. | :04:29.
Pamela was injured after her car broke down. | :04:30. | :04:46.
Pushing it around the corner and I couldn't get into it quick enough. | :04:47. | :04:49.
And I had hold of the door so I think I just fell flat | :04:50. | :04:57.
on my face, and I think the doors wrenched my left arm. | :04:58. | :05:07.
It's been a complete clean, break side on, so this | :05:08. | :05:22.
And you can see it's quite an angle there. | :05:23. | :05:26.
Pamela was seen less than 15 minutes after arriving by ambulance, | :05:27. | :05:32.
But, last year, the ambulance service told Inside Out | :05:33. | :05:36.
delays to these handovers were hitting its performance. | :05:37. | :05:39.
I think, out of ten, I would say it's ten. | :05:40. | :05:48.
Today, the ambulance service still identifies handovers as one | :05:49. | :05:50.
What I would say is we are doing a lot of work to try | :05:51. | :05:59.
I think it's getting better so I'd say I'd rate it around seven. | :06:00. | :06:06.
But the NHS review last November said the ambulance service was also | :06:07. | :06:09.
Some crews were being overcautious and taking patients to hospital | :06:10. | :06:14.
Our decision-making at the scene, because of lack of paramedics, | :06:15. | :06:21.
has been risk averse and, therefore, we would be taking more | :06:22. | :06:23.
From April, we will have a full establishment, and, therefore, | :06:24. | :06:28.
we would expect to see an improvement in their | :06:29. | :06:30.
decision-making and the use of alternative pathways | :06:31. | :06:35.
The day is starting to pick up but it's still not a bad day. | :06:36. | :06:44.
I would say the majority of days our bad days. | :06:45. | :06:48.
I think most days this winter in most A in this country, it's | :06:49. | :06:51.
One reason - increasing numbers of elderly patients | :06:52. | :07:00.
It's the make up I'm trying, and it's not working, you see. | :07:01. | :07:15.
The Cramlington model is based on getting serious cases | :07:16. | :07:34.
through the hospital safely and speedily. | :07:35. | :07:37.
This is fine tuned to be able to run very, very well. | :07:38. | :07:45.
And, yet, as soon as things are imperfect, things | :07:46. | :07:47.
We run right at the margins of staff, right at the margins | :07:48. | :07:54.
of timings, right at the margins of capacity. | :07:55. | :07:56.
We are right at the very edge of what this system | :07:57. | :07:59.
I have no critical care beds in the hospital at the moment and, | :08:00. | :08:04.
obviously, if there isn't one in our hospital, | :08:05. | :08:06.
We really need to try and focus on getting these planned discharges | :08:07. | :08:11.
Last November's NHS review highlighted problems here. | :08:12. | :08:23.
They were critical about things like even just the data, | :08:24. | :08:26.
whether you knew when the beds were free will going to be free. | :08:27. | :08:30.
And the electronic data management system we were due to start | :08:31. | :08:35.
with unfortunately couldn't be implemented in the way we expected. | :08:36. | :08:39.
That has actually started this week to be rolled out | :08:40. | :08:42.
She is waiting to see if the clot buster's worked. | :08:43. | :08:51.
Elizabeth was already recovering from an earlier series of strokes. | :08:52. | :08:55.
Just in the middle of trying to learn to walk again. | :08:56. | :09:01.
I recognise the word but don't know what it is. | :09:02. | :09:10.
On this day, more than 250 patients attended the emergency department. | :09:11. | :09:19.
It met the target of seeing 95% of them within four hours. | :09:20. | :09:23.
But this was not one of the busy winter days. | :09:24. | :09:27.
Cramlington is already dealing with 50% more patients than planned, | :09:28. | :09:30.
Is it still the model for the future? | :09:31. | :09:40.
If you put the numbers we've dealt with through this winter, | :09:41. | :09:44.
through our old system, the system would have imploded. | :09:45. | :09:46.
It is only because we made the change and introduced | :09:47. | :09:48.
the Northumbria to our system that we've managed in the way | :09:49. | :09:51.
Now, we have our fair share of rogues. | :09:52. | :09:58.
They don't like us putting them in the spotlight but we do. | :09:59. | :10:02.
Our recent hit list has included a fraudster | :10:03. | :10:05.
addicted to the high life, heaps of whipped cream, | :10:06. | :10:08.
and those who dump rubbish in our countryside and backyards. | :10:09. | :10:13.
So, David, which of those took your fancy? | :10:14. | :10:15.
Well, it has to be the County Durham swindler who ripped off his own mum, | :10:16. | :10:18.
not to mention the council, who sold him Windlestone Hall. | :10:19. | :10:23.
Well, he's been jailed but what happened to the hall | :10:24. | :10:25.
Back in September, William Davenport was locked up | :10:26. | :10:30.
The judge called hima thoroughly greedy and dishonest man. | :10:31. | :10:40.
He had conned his way to owning the grade two star | :10:41. | :10:42.
Last year, we revealed how he managed to buy this country pile | :10:43. | :10:47.
off Durham county council under an assumed name at | :10:48. | :10:48.
Even his own mother barely recognised a son | :10:49. | :10:53.
who took her to the cleaners for around 300 grand. | :10:54. | :10:56.
But the big question I've always asked is why? | :10:57. | :11:09.
This is a man who likes to play games. | :11:10. | :11:11.
And he certainly knows all of the tricks. | :11:12. | :11:13.
As William Green, he was linked to a mountain of debt. | :11:14. | :11:17.
It was a card he could no longer play. | :11:18. | :11:19.
He bought a Scottish mansion for ?2.5 million but was evicted | :11:20. | :11:29.
A multi-million dollar ranch he acquired in Alabama went the same | :11:30. | :11:34.
way and he was out on his ear the same way. | :11:35. | :11:37.
But he had another trick up his sleeve. | :11:38. | :11:40.
This time he was called William Davenport. | :11:41. | :11:44.
It was with his new idea that he arrived in County Durham, | :11:45. | :11:49.
now pretending to be a software tycoon. | :11:50. | :11:51.
He offered to take Windlestone Hall off the Council's hands | :11:52. | :11:53.
Are you then confident that this has been the best possible | :11:54. | :12:00.
Sitting here, 2013, I'm absolutely confident this is a good | :12:01. | :12:03.
By selling, the council has saved itself a small fortune | :12:04. | :12:08.
With Davenport jailed, it's now in the hands of the bank, | :12:09. | :12:16.
which wants to sell it for more than three times what the council | :12:17. | :12:20.
And, online, the brochures certainly doesn't tell | :12:21. | :12:24.
The whole roof was all brand-new lead, which has gone, | :12:25. | :12:30.
And it's totally left it open to the elements. | :12:31. | :12:34.
They haven't even put a plastic sheet over it. | :12:35. | :12:37.
This is directly underneath where they took the lead from the roof. | :12:38. | :12:42.
You can see where all the water's come through the roof. | :12:43. | :12:44.
I'm dumbfounded, it's far worse than I ever thought. | :12:45. | :12:54.
It's something the we were always proud of. | :12:55. | :12:57.
Now we've got nothing, we've got nothing to be proud of now. | :12:58. | :12:59.
I think the best thing for this building now is for it | :13:00. | :13:05.
to find a new owner, somebody with real vision, | :13:06. | :13:07.
who can see the potential and is willing to spend several | :13:08. | :13:10.
decades sorting it out because this won't happen overnight. | :13:11. | :13:17.
John was interested when the council first put it up for sale | :13:18. | :13:21.
but the landscape changed when Davenport sold off some | :13:22. | :13:23.
You can't get to the hall because it is landlocked, | :13:24. | :13:28.
I actually rang the estate agent a couple of weeks ago to see | :13:29. | :13:33.
I'm sorry, you can make an offer but you can't go and view it | :13:34. | :13:38.
The council sold this to a fraudster. | :13:39. | :13:41.
I hold the council 100% responsible for this. | :13:42. | :13:45.
They should be forced to buy it back and reinstated | :13:46. | :13:49.
Durham county council says it carried out all the proper checks | :13:50. | :13:55.
before the sale and it will work with any future owners | :13:56. | :13:57.
But until someone does take it on, Windlestone Hall, which should be | :13:58. | :14:02.
celebrated as the birthplace of a former Prime Minister, | :14:03. | :14:04.
Anthony Eden, seems destined to be haunted only by its recent past. | :14:05. | :14:12.
Remember our lip-smacking investigation into this? | :14:13. | :14:16.
Not the whipped cream but what makes it all light and fluffy. | :14:17. | :14:19.
Laughing gas is illegal to use in catering but some use it | :14:20. | :14:22.
Supplying it for that is definitely breaking the law | :14:23. | :14:27.
It's a matter of time, without scaremongering anybody, | :14:28. | :14:33.
for the amount of product that's out there, there will be a fatality. | :14:34. | :14:40.
We've been on the trail of the Newcastle party boys | :14:41. | :14:42.
living the high life from peddling laughing gas. | :14:43. | :14:48.
They'd been claiming it was for this, only we'd heard | :14:49. | :14:50.
Toon Whip was offering to deliver 24/7 but does anyone really need | :14:51. | :14:54.
to whipped cream in the middle of the night? | :14:55. | :14:57.
When we ordered some, it was quick and easy, | :14:58. | :15:00.
and we were offered something Mary Berry never | :15:01. | :15:02.
The conversation is certainly not about cream cakes. | :15:03. | :15:18.
Bang to rights, trading standards saw our footage and investigated. | :15:19. | :15:22.
Toon Whip and its two directors end up in court. | :15:23. | :15:25.
The company admitted breaking the law and was fined ?7,000. | :15:26. | :15:31.
Well, it's brilliant, brilliant outcome. | :15:32. | :15:33.
I want to thank Inside Out for highlighting this problem. | :15:34. | :15:35.
We were able to follow it up, we had a prosecution, | :15:36. | :15:38.
Young people and, particularly students, are at risk, and, | :15:39. | :15:42.
hopefully, make sure it doesn't happen again. | :15:43. | :15:46.
Last year, we reported on how taxpayers' money | :15:47. | :15:48.
It costs our councils millions each year to clean up but, in Newcastle, | :15:49. | :15:55.
Jonathan Exley's van was spotted being used to fly-tip and it had | :15:56. | :16:04.
Caught on camera, this footage led investigators straight to Exley. | :16:05. | :16:13.
We need to speak to you about your waste management business. | :16:14. | :16:15.
Since our programme, Exley admitted in court | :16:16. | :16:24.
it was his van and was fined over ?100 and ?500 in costs. | :16:25. | :16:28.
And, no, he is not getting the van back. | :16:29. | :16:31.
But with plenty of other instances of fly-tipping, | :16:32. | :16:34.
the Council thinks the courts should impose stiffer penalties. | :16:35. | :16:40.
Last year, we charged ?27,000 in fines through the courts and it | :16:41. | :16:43.
cost the council over ?250,000 to clean up. | :16:44. | :16:46.
I'd implore the magistrates to recognise this has an impact | :16:47. | :16:49.
A blight on the society and please be more tough. | :16:50. | :17:00.
We love to tell their stories, too, and we've had some | :17:01. | :17:05.
Well, Chris, the vet to pretty much gave up everything to look | :17:06. | :17:13.
Yes, when we highlighted her work, well, it touched so many | :17:14. | :17:17.
Back in January, we followed County Durham vet Janey Lowes, | :17:18. | :17:26.
who has dedicated herself to treating the neglected | :17:27. | :17:28.
We met Badger, who was in a terrible state. | :17:29. | :17:35.
He had really bad skin, and he'd started to chew his foot off. | :17:36. | :17:38.
It was filled with maggots, it was grotty. | :17:39. | :17:41.
He hated us at the start and wouldn't come close to us at all. | :17:42. | :17:44.
Janey spends most of her time in Sri Lanka but returns | :17:45. | :17:47.
to the UK to fundraiser to keep her charity project going. | :17:48. | :17:51.
Money is tight so even though she's also received donations | :17:52. | :17:54.
of equipment, it's been stuck on Tyneside as she couldn't | :17:55. | :17:56.
But when people saw the work she does against all the odds | :17:57. | :18:02.
and how she transformed dogs like Badger... | :18:03. | :18:04.
Our story went viral on the Internet with more than 25 million views. | :18:05. | :18:12.
We're getting messages from Malaysia, we're getting | :18:13. | :18:14.
messages from Myanmar, Australia, Canada, everywhere. | :18:15. | :18:16.
It's been in the same, which was beyond our wildest dreams, | :18:17. | :18:21.
and, since then, we've had so many people come forward with messages | :18:22. | :18:24.
of support, and also a few funds here and there which means we can | :18:25. | :18:27.
finally get our equipment out to Sri Lanka, so that's going next month. | :18:28. | :18:31.
And your generosity means work has already begun and fitting out | :18:32. | :18:34.
the old school that Janey wants to convert into a | :18:35. | :18:36.
To know there are people out there who really believe | :18:37. | :18:41.
in what we're doing and are willing to put their money where their mouth | :18:42. | :18:44.
When Jo Milne heard for the first time her home video went viral. | :18:45. | :18:59.
But her condition meant just as she got her hearing back, | :19:00. | :19:02.
her vision was deteriorating and I went on a road trip | :19:03. | :19:04.
to help her capture these sites of our region. | :19:05. | :19:07.
We're going to go to the Northumberland coast. | :19:08. | :19:13.
Since then, a mystery benefactor has sent Jo | :19:14. | :19:19.
on a global sightseeing trip, as she told me when I caught up with | :19:20. | :19:22.
Since we've done the Inside Out programme, I've been very fortunate | :19:23. | :19:32.
to actually travel the world, and I went to see the seven wonders, | :19:33. | :19:35.
and that's been the most incredible experience of my life. | :19:36. | :19:38.
This was a benefactor, do you know who it was? | :19:39. | :19:40.
I have absolutely no idea, apart from the fact that he's | :19:41. | :19:43.
If this person is watching the programme tonight, | :19:44. | :19:46.
I would say thank you again and I hope that this person | :19:47. | :19:48.
As well as promoting sign language in British schools, | :19:49. | :19:56.
she's been distributing hearing aids to some of the world's poorest | :19:57. | :19:59.
It's magical watching a child hear for the very first time. | :20:00. | :20:06.
Our team made a very special documentary about her work | :20:07. | :20:09.
It was a fabulous watch, not one dry eye in the house. | :20:10. | :20:17.
You can't put them into landfill and you can't burn them | :20:18. | :20:27.
Yet we're told it's safe to shred them up and use it as in full | :20:28. | :20:32.
Since we first reported on concerns about whether it was damaging | :20:33. | :20:36.
to children's health, new information has come to light. | :20:37. | :20:41.
According to British authorities, the rubber crumb you see bouncing up | :20:42. | :20:45.
after the ball hits the artificial grass is perfectly safe. | :20:46. | :20:48.
Many thousands of children play on these 3G pitches. | :20:49. | :20:52.
But when Lewis from Darlington was diagnosed with cancer not once | :20:53. | :20:55.
but twice his father, who works in the health service, | :20:56. | :20:58.
When Lewis was on the ward, there were three people | :20:59. | :21:04.
who were regular players on 3G pitches, two of them were | :21:05. | :21:08.
goalkeepers at least and the other one was a regular outfield player. | :21:09. | :21:12.
So, again, it's anecdotes, but it makes you sit up. | :21:13. | :21:19.
Inside Out visited Holland, where some clubs and councils | :21:20. | :21:21.
were moving to alternative infill material is after a Dutch TV | :21:22. | :21:28.
programme questioned the science used by the authorities | :21:29. | :21:29.
Since then, a Dutch university study found fish embryos died when exposed | :21:30. | :21:34.
to water that had been in contact with the rubber crumb. | :21:35. | :21:38.
In Belgium, scientists revealed that if you were to apply safety limits | :21:39. | :21:41.
for rubber found in consumer products, then all of | :21:42. | :21:44.
the artificial pitches tested in one city would fail. | :21:45. | :21:51.
My regional assumption there is concerns have been vindicated and we | :21:52. | :21:59.
need to conduct more research in this country so that we can say one | :22:00. | :22:03.
way or the other as to whether we should be concerned about children | :22:04. | :22:06.
playing on what is effectively in dust real waste. If the UK | :22:07. | :22:11.
will let you know. will let you know. | :22:12. | :22:15.
Time to celebrate now because some of the people we featured on Inside | :22:16. | :22:18.
Out have now been given the recognition they deserve. Being on | :22:19. | :22:24.
your show isn't enough? Where we lead, others follow. I love the back | :22:25. | :22:36.
story of the Newcastle Eagles story. Jesus Christ, whose first and this | :22:37. | :22:42.
cute? Newcastle was the setting for this gritty drama about benefits and | :22:43. | :22:47.
starred in local stand-up comedian in his first serious acting role. At | :22:48. | :22:52.
the city's premier, I caught up with the actor and director and learnt | :22:53. | :22:58.
about how Ken Loach works. Each day, there'd be two or three pages of | :22:59. | :23:03.
script coming through the letterbox, then I'd come in next day and we to | :23:04. | :23:07.
do it. We tried to take them through the story as characters would | :23:08. | :23:10.
experience it in real life. They have to make each moment true. | :23:11. | :23:16.
Having already picked up the Palm d'Or, 17 more awards followed. And | :23:17. | :23:24.
the BAFTA goes to... I, Daniel Blake. We got presented by Nicole | :23:25. | :23:32.
Kidman. She came up to me and said, I took my mother to see the film in | :23:33. | :23:37.
Australia and we were both crying and your performance was amazing. | :23:38. | :23:42.
That's pretty mind blowing. And more awards since. It has won the French | :23:43. | :23:50.
Caesar award from Best foreign film. That's because it's Geordie. It was | :23:51. | :23:56.
named Best foreign film, and David was mature for his victory. I'm 61! | :23:57. | :24:10.
Was this form a one-hit wonder for you? I've got some more films. I'm | :24:11. | :24:15.
doing a two-week shoot up in Sunderland in the shipyard. It is | :24:16. | :24:22.
like a film noir thing. And then I've got a lead role in Yorkshire. | :24:23. | :24:28.
This is all off I, Daniel Blake. Ken Loach changes a lot of peoples lives | :24:29. | :24:34.
with the content of his films and he's certainly changed mine. There | :24:35. | :24:40.
was recognition, for this neurosurgeon -- neurosurgeon, who | :24:41. | :24:44.
was the driving force behind building a specialist hospital in | :24:45. | :24:48.
his native India. We are trying to provide the highest care with an | :24:49. | :24:54.
affordable cost. In the New Year's Honours, that work was rewarded with | :24:55. | :25:00.
an OP, not bad for a man who educated himself out of poverty. I | :25:01. | :25:05.
couldn't go to school. But then I had to survive. I decided the best | :25:06. | :25:08.
thing was to sell fruit. Also honoured was the Newcastle | :25:09. | :25:25.
Eagles player coach. Inside Out spent time with basketball player in | :25:26. | :25:29.
a tough New York suburb where he grew up. The Bronx. I've lost family | :25:30. | :25:39.
members. My oldest brother was killed. That was difficult. I've | :25:40. | :25:46.
been poor. Those are the things that absolutely make you or they break | :25:47. | :25:52.
you. He used to sport to steer his way out of trouble and his talent | :25:53. | :25:57.
ultimately lead the Eagles to unparalleled success. Earlier this | :25:58. | :26:01.
month, he picked up his MBE to services to sport and the community. | :26:02. | :26:10.
World champion rower Harry Clasper. I feel I'm going to pass out! When | :26:11. | :26:20.
we told his story, he'd been all but forgotten. He helped shape the | :26:21. | :26:25.
design of modern racing boats and we asked if he shouldn't be given more | :26:26. | :26:30.
public recognition. Last month, that was put right on the banks of the | :26:31. | :26:35.
time. At long last, we have a plaque. This is a scene of many of | :26:36. | :26:41.
battle for Harry but now the statue will be next. I'm delighted to say | :26:42. | :26:46.
the Inside Out team was honoured at the region's Royal television | :26:47. | :26:52.
Society awards. Our producer, the one who made me dress up as a card | :26:53. | :26:56.
shark, won the outstanding journalism award. | :26:57. | :26:57.
What a card! Chrisman is, one of the talents | :26:58. | :27:11.
behind how great our films look was named best picture editor. I am as | :27:12. | :27:14.
grateful as I am honoured, so thank you. Whilst she still has her | :27:15. | :27:23.
vision, Joe is determined to fulfil her dream. Our unit also scooped the | :27:24. | :27:32.
Gift Of Hearing, Bbc North East! It Gift Of Hearing, Bbc North East! It | :27:33. | :27:41.
feels amazing! I've obviously got to talk about Jo, and I want to thank | :27:42. | :27:50.
her for allowing us the privilege of seeing those fantastic scenes | :27:51. | :27:52.
through her eyes, so thank you very much. The real winners of the deaf | :27:53. | :27:58.
children of Bangladesh. Next month, another 500 people will be fitted | :27:59. | :28:05.
with hearing aids. It's an incredible feeling to give the gift | :28:06. | :28:09.
of hearing. Those children are benefiting from the hearing aids. | :28:10. | :28:15.
And Jo has not only felt the love from around the world, she's also | :28:16. | :28:21.
founded herself. She's recently got engaged. What a great way to end the | :28:22. | :28:26.
show and the current series. Thanks for your help, David. You're very | :28:27. | :28:32.
welcome. We will be working hard making the next series, yes, it | :28:33. | :28:35.
might look like that. We are always looking out for new stories to get | :28:36. | :28:40.
in touch with your ideas. Until we return in the autumn, and behalf of | :28:41. | :28:43.
watching and good night. If you'd watching and good night. If you'd | :28:44. | :28:49.
like to contact me, send your thoughts and suggestions to this | :28:50. | :28:55.
e-mail address and I look forward to hearing from you. Who knows, it | :28:56. | :29:00.
could be your idea and screen when we return. | :29:01. | :29:08.
Hello, I'm Sima Kotecha with your 90 second update. | :29:09. | :29:11.
