Aberdeen are urging the man identified in a jihadist recruitment

In Aberdeen, at the mosque where he used to attend,

condemnation of his actions unequivocal. No political, no

incited terrorism. These activities are against both divine and human

laws. And we condemn them in the strongest terms.

This is him in a video released by the terror group. He encourages

other British Muslims to join fighting in Syria and Iraq. It is a

long way from the streets in Aberdeen where he grew up. He moved

from Bangladesh as a child. From the primary school where he played with

his friends, or from the secondary school where one friends described

him as a normal lad. He was outgoing, got into trouble now and

again, but nothing major, just a normal guy. What did you think when

you saw the video and recognise them? I just could not believe it. I

was shocked. I hope it does not have an effect on the Asian community in

Aberdeen. How he went from worshipping here to jihad in the

Middle East remains a mystery. The Imam is adamant radicalisation

did not start here. I would say to him, come back

A man has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder a taxi

driver and an elderly woman in South Lanarkshire. 33- year-old James

McFarlane is accused of striking Andrew Burns with a knife in

Cambuslang's Glenburn Avenue on Friday night and then stealing his

car. He's also charged with striking 68-year-old Jean Evans with a knife

in Dukes Road. He made no plea and has been remanded in custody.

There's been an increase in the number of cancer patients waiting

too long for treatment, according to official figures.

Health Secretary Alec Neil has a target that 95% of

people diagnosed with cancer should wait no more than two months

before being treated. But only 92% of patients were

treated within that time at the start of this year - a reduction of

Today it is 700 years since the army was victorious.

He prepared his ground and men, he had a plan. Edward II

down here being aware of what took place on this very ground. Most kids

know about Bannockburn. It is a key turning point in the establishment

of the kingdom. It is a key part of Scottish history, it is important.
