A body discovered on the outskirts of Edinburgh over a month ago has

been identified as a 36-year-old woman from London.

Saima Ahmed was reported missing by her family in August last year.

Police are trying to work out why she came to the capital.

A single reminder of a mystery that has baffled police. These flowers

were laid by Saima Ahmed's family after they learned her body was

discovered here on the fringes of this golf course. The 36 she will

part-time librarian was last seen at home in London. Her family had

reported her missing on the 30th of August. Fast forward five months and

police are cold out to an estate and golf course close to Edinburgh

airport. Frantic officers and diving teams spent weeks looking for clues.

The police were here for a month trying to establish who this woman

was. Now they know there is no evidence at this point of

criminality in her death, but they want to work out why she was here so

far away from home. We want to hear from anybody who might have seen her

on a rail journey. Detectives today launched an appeal for

assistant in a shop or train platform. Police are hoping the

appeal will jog somebody's memory and offer some clues as to how and

McGarry on the phone earlier today. She told me she is fine. She

confirmed she was questioned and detained and said she was not

arrested. She said she was not entirely sure who was questioning

her what thought it was special forces. Her lawyer said in a

statement that she was questioned when she was recording the sound

bombs from the Turkish forces falling on a Kurdish area. He said

it appears that a member of the Turkish security forces became

alarmed that she had her mobile phone out nearly security

checkpoint. The Foreign Office said a British national was briefly

detained and released in that area. Natalie McGarry was elected in May

as one of the 56 SNP MPs. She now sits as an independent. She resigned

as the SNP Web after it emerged that police were investigating her in

connection with claims of funds missing from an independence

campaign group, Woman For Independence. We understand that

Natalie McGarry will be returning home from Turkey soon.

The Conservative MSP Margaret Mitchell has become

the first Holyrood politician to call for the UK to leave the EU.

That puts her at odds with her party leader,

Of the 129 MSPs, none publicly endorsed the campaign to take the UK

out of the European Union until now. Margaret Mitchell is the

Conservative justice spokeswoman. She is a former Scottish Tory

leadership candidate and is the first MSP to back a British exit

from the youth. We spent an inordinate amount of money just

joining in being part of the club. We are a net contributor to the EU.

Even with our re-met, it is 45 million a day that we are spending.

I think that would be better spent by making our own decisions and

making a run trade agreements. There may well be other MSPs who follow

her example. But some of those who are minded to vote to leave the

European Union don't want to get involved in this debate before the

Holyrood election. And within the Conservative Party, some of the most

Eurosceptic members here at Holyrood have already said they'll back the

campaign to keep the UK in the EU. If I want to see a failing European

project turnaround, if I want to CNN 's to fiscal and political

convergence, if I want to see a Europe that works as a trading bloc,

it is in our interest to be on the inside arguing our case for change

instead of being on the outside. The Tories' Scottish leader backed and

involved even before David Cameron had renegotiated the UK's membership

terms. At Westminster EU is more divisive for the Conservatives.

David Cameron is for continued membership. This clutch of ministers

are among the Tories who want to leave. In the end it is not

politicians who will determine whether the EU flag is flying here,

whether or not the UK removes itself from the 20th country Alliance. That

is the decision for voters in Scotland and across the UK.

The BBC is set to run a series of off-air pilots to test how

a so-called "Scottish Six" would work.

The proposal is for a single integrated TV news programme

covering Scottish, UK and international news from Glasgow.

In a statement the BBC said no decisions had been taken yet,

but that it was reviewing its news coverage.

A number of Scotland's local authorities have been

setting their budgets today, with big spending reductions

In the Highlands the council has agreed a total cut of ?30 million

in its budget, which will mean hundreds of redundancies

and an impact on services including education,

Peppers and The Stone Roses will play at this year's T

in the Park festival. It's the second year the music event

has been staged at Strathallan Last year's event was marred by

problems with congestion and delays. Our arts correspondent

Pauline McLean reports. It remains the country's biggest

music festival, even if it is now in a new location, the grounds of

Strathallan Castle. Today, organisers of tea in the park allows

this year's line-up which includes the eighth appearance at the

Festival of Scots DJ Calvin Harris. I'm relieved pleased. It is one of

the most diverse we have had for years. They have already announced

Stone Roses come The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Calvin Harris. There is a

real balance between those. While the line-up is confirmed the event

is not as it requires a public entertainment licence, and Perth

Kinross Council wants substantial reassurance and evidence of

improvement following problems last year with the flow of people and

traffic from the site. A critical report listed 36 recommendations,

but T in the park say they are already underway. It will be

approximately 25 per cent bigger than last year. We have proposed to

move around some of the stage is to increase the site, improve the flow

of traffic coming into the site, separating buses from cars, putting

in a new bus station. Quite a lot of improvements which are into the
