the 11th Grand Slam final of his career, as he bids

:00:00.:00:12.

We will bring you up to speed with how he is faring against Tomas

Berdych in his semifinal, and we will talk to a former British number

the Deputy First Minister and warn of a difficult future when the UK

leaves the European Union. And in golf we're live

at the Scottish Open where Richie Ramsey is the leading

and joins us now. Things are looking good for Andy

Murray on Centre Court. He and Thomas Berdych are battling it out

:01:40.:01:43.

in their semifinal. On Henman Hill, the fans are lapping it up. Andy

:01:44.:01:48.

Murray is the world number two, looking to make his third Wimbledon

:01:49.:01:53.

final. Let's hear how the match is shaping up. Here is Chris

:01:54.:01:54.

MacLachlan. He knows it, and Centre Court knows

:01:55.:02:05.

it. Andy Murray is edging closer to another Wimbledon title. His

:02:06.:02:09.

previous battles with Berdych have been physical and verbal. Just ask

:02:10.:02:15.

his wife, who once famously launched a volley of her own at the world

:02:16.:02:20.

number nine. But past forgotten, it was down to business, and with

:02:21.:02:23.

tennis like this, the favourite was first to break. Any notion of an

:02:24.:02:35.

easy first set was put to the side when the Czech player broke straight

:02:36.:02:45.

back. Plenty to ponder for team Murray. But like so often in this

:02:46.:02:50.

tournament, the Scot held his nerve, held his opponent at bay, and took

:02:51.:02:58.

the first set. If Berdych does not make the final, he could yet claim

:02:59.:03:04.

one title. That was a contender for Miss of the year. And from the

:03:05.:03:12.

ridiculous to the sublime. And now firmly in control, the

:03:13.:03:36.

second set soon followed. Yes, Andy Murray looking in good

:03:37.:03:42.

shape, as Chris said. In the third set, things are looking good. He has

:03:43.:03:47.

just taken the third game and he leads to- one in the third set. If

:03:48.:03:53.

he was to progress, he would play Canada's Milos Raonic, who was in

:03:54.:03:56.

sensational form against the seven times champion, Roger Federer in a

:03:57.:04:03.

thrilling, epic semifinal. The Canadian player has never been to a

:04:04.:04:08.

Wimbledon final before. Boy, how he deserved it today. A five set

:04:09.:04:12.

thriller and victory over the seven times Wimbledon champ. While we wait

:04:13.:04:17.

to see whether Andy Murray makes it to a Wimbledon final, great news for

:04:18.:04:21.

another Scottish tennis player today. Not one but two finals for

:04:22.:04:25.

the wheelchair tennis sensation Gordon Greer, who has made it

:04:26.:04:29.

through to the singles and the doubles. He is having a good they

:04:30.:04:32.

are the office, as they say. I caught up with him. I don't think I

:04:33.:04:40.

felt any pressure. I felt a lot of support, a lot of people backing me

:04:41.:04:44.

out there. My own squad and all the other British members of the public

:04:45.:04:48.

as well. I tried to enjoy it and make the most of the moment. Great

:04:49.:04:53.

news for Gordon Reid, through to two finals this weekend. We wait to see

:04:54.:04:58.

whether Andy Murray will join him in the men's singles final on Sunday.

:04:59.:05:02.

It is looking good but join me later in the programme for a further

:05:03.:05:03.

update. Police are investigating the deaths

:05:04.:05:06.

of two teenagers at Scotland's Officers say the separate

:05:07.:05:08.

incidents at T in the Park in Strathallan Castle in Perthshire,

:05:09.:05:11.

may be drug related. John McManus reports.

:05:12.:05:27.

The morning after the first night of T In The Park. What those waking up

:05:28.:05:31.

to not realise is that there have been two separate deaths reported at

:05:32.:05:36.

the festival. Elysee a 17-year-old male from the west of Scotland and a

:05:37.:05:41.

17-year-old female from the North of England have died in circumstances

:05:42.:05:45.

not thought to be suspicious. We are keeping an open mind but one line of

:05:46.:05:49.

enquiry is that drugs may have been involved in the deaths. We reiterate

:05:50.:05:56.

once again the policy of Police Scotland and the event organisers

:05:57.:06:00.

that there is no safe way to take drugs. The medical team responded

:06:01.:06:03.

quickly and worked hard to save these young people but they could

:06:04.:06:07.

not, and our sympathy really has to be with the family and friends that

:06:08.:06:13.

are here with them. This is supposed to be a weekend of

:06:14.:06:18.

music with your mates, but as the news spread, it cast a shadow over

:06:19.:06:23.

evidence. Pretty tragic. You come to a festival to enjoy yourself. You

:06:24.:06:28.

come with your friends, wanting to have a good time. It is horrible,

:06:29.:06:33.

hearing about people dying. They could be your friends. We all got a

:06:34.:06:37.

bit of a fright and started ringing home saying, we are all right. Sad

:06:38.:06:44.

for them, but it is sad. The death of any teenager is tragic but when

:06:45.:06:49.

it happens at an event like this, it seems especially Krul.

:06:50.:06:57.

John McManus is live for us now at T In The Park. What can you tell us?

:06:58.:07:11.

John, can you hear me? No, I don't think he can. Apologies, I don't

:07:12.:07:15.

think John can hear us. We are having sound problems tonight.

:07:16.:07:18.

The Scottish Government says it has "well developed" plans to cope

:07:19.:07:21.

with a series of rail strikes that clash with major summer events.

:07:22.:07:24.

The Transport Minister Humza Yousaf chaired a meeting of

:07:25.:07:26.

the Government's resilience committee, ahead of planned strikes

:07:27.:07:28.

that will affect those travelling to T in the Park,

:07:29.:07:30.

Lisa Summers reports from Haymarket Station.

:07:31.:07:41.

Sally, this is all about driver - only operated trains. The unions say

:07:42.:07:51.

they are concerned in terms of safety, if the guards or conductors,

:07:52.:07:55.

the role of guards and conductors is phased out on trains. But Scot rail

:07:56.:08:00.

say they will always scheduled two people to run on a train. Talks

:08:01.:08:05.

broke down on Wednesday mean in that strike action will continue over the

:08:06.:08:11.

weekend and into next week. In terms of disruption, obviously we have

:08:12.:08:14.

tens of thousands of people travelling to the open at Royal

:08:15.:08:17.

Troon next week, and 80,000 fans trying to get back from T In The

:08:18.:08:22.

Park on Sunday and Monday. The Scottish Government held a meeting

:08:23.:08:26.

of its resilience committee and this is what the transport minister said.

:08:27.:08:30.

ScotRail have not put forward their plans and proposals for the driver

:08:31.:08:36.

controlled operated trains. I think the RMT should wait for those

:08:37.:08:39.

proposals and then decide whether or not to take action. My call is for

:08:40.:08:44.

them to suspend the strikes, get round the table, speak to ScotRail

:08:45.:08:47.

and come to a solution where the passenger is not further disrupted.

:08:48.:08:54.

So, if you are planning to get home from T In The Park, organisers say

:08:55.:08:58.

that the bus is the best option. You can get on a train but there will be

:08:59.:09:02.

a reduced timetable in places, so expect delays. If you are heading to

:09:03.:09:07.

the open, ScotRail say they have an enhanced service to Royal Troon, but

:09:08.:09:11.

you have to get there. There are also going to be delays, and some

:09:12.:09:15.

services cancelled. So a reminder of the strike days. Sunday, Monday,

:09:16.:09:21.

Thursday of next week, and next Saturday and Sunday.

:09:22.:09:23.

A cancer patient in Edinburgh has been given an accidental

:09:24.:09:26.

overdose of radiation, double the dose she

:09:27.:09:27.

The patient was being given palliative radiotherapy

:09:28.:09:30.

at the Western General Hospital last September.

:09:31.:09:32.

Our Health Correspondent, Eleanor Bradford, is here.

:09:33.:09:34.

Well, this, Sally, will probably remind people of the tragic case of

:09:35.:09:49.

Lisa Norris, who was given an overdose in 2006, ten years ago. She

:09:50.:09:54.

endured terrible suffering before her death. The overdose to this

:09:55.:10:00.

patient was even higher than that, but in other ways the circumstances

:10:01.:10:04.

were different. The Lisa Norris case happened because of faults in the

:10:05.:10:09.

system, and in the wake of that case, lots of changes were brought

:10:10.:10:14.

in to make the system safer. In this case, individuals got the sums

:10:15.:10:18.

wrong. Several individuals all got the sums wrong, but it seems to be

:10:19.:10:22.

down to individual error. The computer system did flag up that

:10:23.:10:27.

they had made a mistake, and they manually overrode it. As a result of

:10:28.:10:32.

an investigation into this case, it has been recommended that staff are

:10:33.:10:35.

retrained in the computer system so they have more confidence in it. It

:10:36.:10:39.

has also been pointed out that it happened over a weekend, so NHS

:10:40.:10:42.

Lothian have beefed up on-call cover at weekends. We do not know what

:10:43.:10:47.

happened to the patient involved, because they are anonymous and

:10:48.:10:51.

entitled to confidentiality. However, we do know it was

:10:52.:10:55.

palliative, so it was end of life treatment. It is possible that this

:10:56.:10:58.

patient actually passed away before they felt the ill effects.

:10:59.:11:01.

Scottish farmers are warning of a difficult future when the UK

:11:02.:11:04.

leaves the European Union, because subsidies could fall.

:11:05.:11:06.

They were meeting the Deputy First Minister.

:11:07.:11:08.

John Swinney said it was an issue of significant concern

:11:09.:11:10.

and that he was fighting to keep Scotland in the EU.

:11:11.:11:13.

The UK Government is also pledging continuing support.

:11:14.:11:15.

Our political correspondent Andrew Kerr reports

:11:16.:11:17.

A sunny day after the rain, ideal conditions for growing crops. And to

:11:18.:11:34.

meet the Deputy First Minister. But Scottish farmers are not facing

:11:35.:11:38.

ideal conditions in the aftermath of the vote to leave the EU. Yes, there

:11:39.:11:42.

has been a boost in prices with the fall in the pound, but what happens

:11:43.:11:48.

to generous subsidies from the Common Agricultural Policy? In

:11:49.:11:50.

future, governments might not match them. The gross farm income is

:11:51.:11:56.

reliant on subsidies. I don't see that changing, until maybe the

:11:57.:12:02.

public learn to pay the real price for food. It's going to be very

:12:03.:12:06.

difficult. We have been assured many times that the government will look

:12:07.:12:09.

after us. We have to take their word for it. For two years they are

:12:10.:12:16.

guaranteed, and we will hope for longer, we will press for them being

:12:17.:12:19.

guaranteed longer. Listening to them, John Swinney. His government

:12:20.:12:25.

wants to keep Scotland's place in the EU, and he says the farming

:12:26.:12:28.

industry is a crucial part of that union. If that is to be interrupted

:12:29.:12:35.

by the actions of the UK Government, disrespecting the decisions of

:12:36.:12:39.

people in Scotland to remain in EU membership, that is an issue of

:12:40.:12:42.

significant concern that has to be addressed. What we are doing, the

:12:43.:12:47.

Scottish Government, is acting with all of our energy to protect

:12:48.:12:51.

Scotland's EU membership, to make sure the vital interests of the

:12:52.:12:54.

agricultural sector are protected as part of that process. Indeed, Brexit

:12:55.:12:59.

negotiations and a future funding deal are in the hands of the UK

:13:00.:13:04.

Government. Today, they said the Prime Minister was clear that there

:13:05.:13:07.

needs to be a system of agricultural support, in the event of a decision

:13:08.:13:11.

to leave the EU. The Government will work with industry and the public to

:13:12.:13:16.

develop these new arrangements. The decision by voters to leave the

:13:17.:13:20.

European Union still reverberate around this land, two weeks on.

:13:21.:13:26.

Farmers are used to uncertainty, but perhaps this is one factor they did

:13:27.:13:27.

not bargain for. Inspectors who've visited Aberdeen

:13:28.:13:31.

crematorium say staff who'd worked there at a time

:13:32.:13:34.

when babies were cremated with unrelated adults see

:13:35.:13:36.

themselves as the victims. The claim has angered bereaved

:13:37.:13:40.

parents who were denied Unions insist the language used has

:13:41.:13:42.

not come from the staff. For years, these walls contained a

:13:43.:14:00.

secret, and unethical and ab horror and practice, jointly cremating

:14:01.:14:06.

babies with unrelated adults. The manager who oversaw the actions has

:14:07.:14:10.

been sacked, but many of those who carried out the cremations are still

:14:11.:14:15.

here. The report follows an inspector's visit last Thursday,

:14:16.:14:17.

which overall gives a positive assessment. But it says a number of

:14:18.:14:23.

employees who were there before the process changed regard themselves as

:14:24.:14:28.

being the victims. Scott Wells died of cot death after one month of

:14:29.:14:33.

life. His father says what he is hearing today is nothing short of

:14:34.:14:37.

offensive. It is a complete insult, rubbing salt in the wounds when

:14:38.:14:41.

there does not need to be any of it. It is hard enough as it is. Parents

:14:42.:14:45.

are in a difficult situation, hurting enough as it is. With the

:14:46.:14:49.

report that has come out, to hear this that they are the victims, is

:14:50.:14:56.

unbelievable, really. Last week's inspection hollered a damning report

:14:57.:14:59.

into the running of this crematorium. But this union leader

:15:00.:15:04.

says it is the report that describes them as victims, not the workers

:15:05.:15:09.

themselves. I need to be clear that no member of staff has come forward

:15:10.:15:13.

and said, you know, I feel that way, I feel that we are the victims. In

:15:14.:15:22.

an exclusive sense, because that clearly is not true. The Chief

:15:23.:15:27.

Executive of Aberdeen City Council declined our requests for

:15:28.:15:31.

interviews. She is drafting a report in response to the criticisms and

:15:32.:15:34.

says the outcome of this inspection will now form part of that report.

:15:35.:15:39.

That report is expected to be presented next month. The Schlein

It happened on the A68 Dalkeith Bypass.

:15:53.:15:55.

Another man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

:15:58.:16:01.

And police are appealing for witnesses, after a fatal crash

:16:02.:16:03.

on the outskirts of Dumfries last night.

:16:04.:16:06.

The 25-year-old driver and his 19-year-old woman passenger

The Clyde passenger ferry between Gourock and Dunoon is to be

The new service will require bidders to provide a boat at least

Museum bosses hope the investment in the science and arts

Glasgow's George Square has been transformed,

:16:49.:16:50.

as it prepares to host the Homeless World Cup.

:16:51.:16:53.

The event will feature 48 men's and 16 women's teams

:16:54.:16:57.

Scotland last hosted the tournament in Edinburgh in 2005.

:16:58.:17:10.

we have teams from more than 50 countries coming to play a football

day for the players in the second round of golf's

Scottish Open near Inverness. And, for much of the day,

:17:49.:17:53.

it's been a New Zealander showing everyone else how to do it,

had an intriguing second round. There are stored players out on the

:18:13.:18:15.

course, some making an impact on the leaderboard. We will get to that in

:18:16.:18:19.

a moment. Others scrambling as best as they can to try and book a spot

also the elements. Whelband of yesterday had eased,

conditions. It was something Russell Knox was keen to take on.

:18:40.:18:44.

COMMENTATOR: Not a bad way to start. But it was New Zealander Danny Lee

:18:45.:18:48.

who was showing everyone how to do it. Excellent stuff. Louis carding a

:18:49.:18:54.

round of 66 to become the early clubhouse leader on seven under par.

:18:55.:18:59.

I always love to start my round heart and put some birdies in early

:19:00.:19:02.

rounds, so I can get my momentum going. I have been doing that very

:19:03.:19:08.

well the last few days. These were not the only thing on view around

:19:09.:19:13.

Castle Stuart. Three-time major champion Padraig Harrington was also

:19:14.:19:17.

putting on a show. Knox meanwhile carded a round of 70, and we work

:19:18.:19:22.

for the man who missed his tea last night to visit his old golf club. I

:19:23.:19:28.

am a bit hungry, to be honest. Tough out there against I'm looking

:19:29.:19:31.

forward to some good lunch. You must be tired, it has been a tough 24

:19:32.:19:40.

hours. No, I am an athlete, I am a beast, I don't get tired! Of course

:19:41.:19:45.

I get tired, but the adrenaline is in the and that will help me. Former

:19:46.:19:49.

Scottish open winner Graeme McDowell is one to make an afternoon lead up

:19:50.:19:55.

-- move up the leaderboard but it has been another day where those out

:19:56.:19:59.

early fared better than the players who followed. So we had Danny Lee as

:20:00.:20:04.

the long-time clubhouse leaders today. In the last few minutes, he

:20:05.:20:11.

has given up that throne to Sweden's Alex Noren, going to eight under

:20:12.:20:16.

par. Eddie Pepperell from England has moved alongside Danny Lee, just

:20:17.:20:20.

a shot behind Alexander Noren on seven under par. The leading Scot is

:20:21.:20:26.

Richie Ramsay. He is now at four under par. The cut is projected to

:20:27.:20:30.

be at two over, meaning we will miss the likes of Scott Jamieson, and

:20:31.:20:34.

Paul Rowley, who finished on ten under par. We will also miss Shane

:20:35.:20:38.

Lowry and Miguel Angel Jimenez from the weekend. But in the last few

:20:39.:20:43.

minutes we have a new leader at Castle student. His name is

:20:44.:20:47.

Alexander Noren from Sweden on eight under par. Thank you very much for

:20:48.:20:52.

that and we will go straight back to Jane Lewis at Wimbledon, where it is

:20:53.:20:55.

looking very good, Jane, for Andy Murray.

:20:56.:20:57.

Things are looking very healthy indeed. Two sets to love up against

:20:58.:21:04.

Tomas Berdych and leading 5-2 in the third set. Annabel Croft is here, I

:21:05.:21:10.

think he will win this one, isn't he? I think that was even going to

:21:11.:21:14.

do his third Wimbledon final. Faultless tennis on Centre Court

today, he has played with aggression, with very few unforced

:21:18.:21:22.

errors. He has used his slice backhand very effectively but he has

:21:23.:21:26.

just kind of taking part of weapons that Tomas Berdych had out on court.

:21:27.:21:32.

He looks so confident, fired up, time enough as well, and he has Ivan

:21:33.:21:36.

Lendl sitting there in the box. I think he's doing everything he that

:21:37.:21:41.

Ivan Lendl would want to out there. Milos Raonic in the final, but is it

:21:42.:21:47.

a bit of a surprise? What sort of match are you expecting? It was

:21:48.:21:50.

going to be touch and go with Roger Federer. Raonic came out of the

:21:51.:21:55.

blocks quickly. Roger took a lot of time to try to find a rhythm against

:21:56.:22:00.

that massive serve. He then came close to potentially serving for the

:22:01.:22:04.

match, he got a break point at 5-5 in the fourth set and was not able

:22:05.:22:08.

to convert. He dropped that fourth set, he fell over on the court, had

:22:09.:22:12.

a difficult moment where he thought he had damaged his knee, and he

:22:13.:22:14.

never recovered emotionally after that. I think the legs went very

:22:15.:22:20.

heavy and difficult. It was a shame to see a sentimental favourite going

:22:21.:22:23.

out of championships. But in terms of the final matchup, and he has won

:22:24.:22:29.

the last five encounters, he beat him at Queen's in the final, but it

:22:30.:22:33.

will still be tough because this guy has one of the biggest serves on the

:22:34.:22:40.

game. Do it and when his second Wimbledon title? I think so, I had

:22:41.:22:44.

never seen him move better and hit the ball better so I think we will

:22:45.:22:49.

see Murray lifting up their travel on Sunday. Annabel Croft, we will

:22:50.:22:52.

let you go, thank you for joining us. Andy Murray looking very good

:22:53.:22:57.

indeed, as I look towards Henman Hill, they are getting very, very

:22:58.:23:00.

excited about how Andy Murray is failing. As Annabel Croft said, he

:23:01.:23:07.

has played sensationally out there in his semifinal match against Tomas

:23:08.:23:11.

Berdych. He will play Milos Raonic in that final. He had a sensational

:23:12.:23:14.

win against Roger Federer this afternoon. We go to pictures of Andy

:23:15.:23:22.

Murray now, who is serving for the match. We will stay with this one to

:23:23.:23:26.

see whether Andy Murray can make his third Wimbledon final. He is of

:23:27.:23:33.

course serving against Tomas Berdych. Let's see how he gets on.

:23:34.:23:39.

COMMENTATOR: Murray has served down the tea exceptionally well, but you

:23:40.:24:22.

might have thought Berdych would move across a little bit, just to

:24:23.:24:26.

say about time you move and hit a few out wide here.

:24:27.:24:32.

Murray once that same ball back, thank you very much. I like that

:24:33.:24:44.

one. UMPIRE: Thank you, players are

:24:45.:24:50.

ready, thank you. Things are looking very good indeed

:24:51.:25:42.

for Andy Murray. We can just see Henman Hill, the fans are poised as

:25:43.:25:46.

opposed to celebrate what should be a Murray win. We will have more from

:25:47.:25:50.

Wimbledon when and should Andy Murray wrap this one up.

:25:51.:25:55.

Are very close but in the meantime let's see what we can expect from

:25:56.:25:59.

the weekend weather, Chris. A lovely end to the day across many

:26:00.:26:08.

parts of the country. Showers fading away, the clouds thinning and

:26:09.:26:12.

baking. To end the day, any scenes like this in from one of our Weather

:26:13.:26:16.

Watchers. For T in the Park this evening, it looks set fair, but

:26:17.:26:20.

through the course of the weekend, there are some that weather on the

:26:21.:26:23.

cards. This evening, you will see from the shop that it is mostly dry

:26:24.:26:28.

with some sunshine but then the cloud will build, followed by

:26:29.:26:32.

outbreaks of rain as we had out overnight. A weather front reaching

:26:33.:26:36.

most part across the country. A mild-mannered, temperatures holding

:26:37.:26:39.

in double digits but further north where it is clear, just a touch

:26:40.:26:43.

cooler. That wet weather still with us first thing tomorrow morning, all

:26:44.:26:46.

connected to this area of low pressure out in the Atlantic. Really

:26:47.:26:50.

quite deep for the time of year. Something we would usually see in

:26:51.:26:53.

the autumn or indeed winter. But it is a good way away from us further

:26:54.:26:57.

than we thought, so the wind is not as strong as we have fought earlier

:26:58.:27:00.

on in the week but it was to be cloudy and damp. This first batch of

:27:01.:27:05.

rain edging up about Orkney, dry for a time behind it and then another

:27:06.:27:08.

spell of rain pushing into the cause of the afternoon for the south and

:27:09.:27:12.

east. By mid afternoon, temperatures 17, 18, 19 Celsius. Fairly murky at

:27:13.:27:18.

times with rain and often onto the course of the day. Whether cloud

:27:19.:27:21.

breaks it will feel quite humid with that July sunshine that as I say,

:27:22.:27:26.

the wet weather never too far away. It will be a wet afternoon across

:27:27.:27:31.

Orkney. That rain never quite reaching Shetland until later but it

:27:32.:27:35.

is coming your way. For those hill walking and climbing, expect

:27:36.:27:37.

outbreaks of rain through the course of the day. Some brighter moments,

:27:38.:27:41.

and wins generally from the South 20 mph or so. For eastern reaches, some

:27:42.:27:48.

bright stars but also a number of showers, across-the-board Hills more

:27:49.:27:51.

like heavy rain. To end the afternoon into the evening, wet

:27:52.:27:56.

weather around and then showers start to develop a matter Sunday's

:27:57.:28:00.

weather. That is still with us for the second half of the weekend,

:28:01.:28:04.

remaining unsettled with showers at times. To start the day, on Sunday,

:28:05.:28:09.

dry and bright, then showers in the West, and through the course they

:28:10.:28:13.

trundle eastward and one or two of those are quite heavy, particularly

:28:14.:28:16.

through parts of Murray and the north-east. But again a humid feel.

:28:17.:28:22.

South of the border, all eyes on Wimbledon and on Sunday for the

:28:23.:28:26.

final. One or two showers around, potentially the roof closing at

:28:27.:28:29.

times. Certainly one to watch. That is the forecast. And guess what,

:28:30.:28:35.

Andy Murray has beaten Tomas Berdych and this through to the final of

:28:36.:28:39.

Wimbledon. That is Reporting Scotland. From everyone right across
