As Kezia Dugdale makes her Labour Conference speech, | :00:00. | :00:07.
Jeremy Corbyn tells us he believes the party can win back | :00:08. | :00:10.
We can win a lot of support in Scotland. Local election and | :00:11. | :00:26.
by-elections are only the start, but we can win here. We will be live in | :00:27. | :00:35.
Liverpool with analysis of how Scotland's Labour leader, Kezia | :00:36. | :00:38.
Dugdale, plans to revive her party in Scotland. | :00:39. | :00:41.
Eight senior doctors at NHS Grampian are cleared of wrongdoing | :00:42. | :00:44.
A day after a Calmac ferry crashes into a pier on the Western Isles, | :00:45. | :00:48.
local people have raised safety fears. | :00:49. | :00:49.
The daily grind of getting to and from work - | :00:50. | :00:52.
but which commuter towns are the most affordable? | :00:53. | :00:55.
And remembering the golfer affectionately known as the King - | :00:56. | :00:59.
we look back at Arnold Palmer's life and his connection with | :01:00. | :01:02.
The newly re-elected Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, has told BBC Scotland | :01:03. | :01:25.
he believes the party can win back "a lot" of support in Scotland. | :01:26. | :01:30.
He said there was "great deal of hope" in the Scottish party, | :01:31. | :01:33.
despite it finishing third in May's Holyrood election. | :01:34. | :01:36.
Here's our political correspondent, Nick Eardley. | :01:37. | :01:45.
How does Labour sold its Scotland problem? May saw its worst ever | :01:46. | :01:52.
result at a Holyrood election, relegated to third place behind the | :01:53. | :01:59.
Tories, but with no sign of the top two changing, will things change in | :02:00. | :02:08.
message? The reality is, they are not using the powers they've got in | :02:09. | :02:13.
the Scottish Parliament, and local government cuts continue. Therefore, | :02:14. | :02:18.
people lose their jobs and services are deteriorating. Can you win a | :02:19. | :02:23.
general election in Scotland? We can win a lot of support in Scotland. We | :02:24. | :02:28.
have one local elections and by-elections. That is a start. We | :02:29. | :02:33.
have elections next gen, and bigger elections later owned for | :02:34. | :02:38.
Westminster. The Scottish party is in a good place. But not all is | :02:39. | :02:48.
rosy. A row over whether the Scottish leader should be able to | :02:49. | :02:51.
represent the -- election a representative to the UK executive | :02:52. | :02:55.
was a theme today. Sources say Mr Corbyn tried to block it. There has | :02:56. | :03:01.
to be a Scottish member of the National executive, and a Welsh one, | :03:02. | :03:06.
for that matter. The decision making on that is what the discussion was | :03:07. | :03:11.
about. We will come to that conclusion, and there will be a | :03:12. | :03:17.
Scottish member of the Executive. Are you happy for it to be Kezia | :03:18. | :03:24.
Dugdale? Very happy. We work well together. Now on to try to win back | :03:25. | :03:26.
those versed -- voters. Well, as we saw in that piece, | :03:27. | :03:29.
the Scottish Labour Leader, Kezia Dugdale, has also been | :03:30. | :03:32.
on the podium this afternoon, and our Political Correspondent | :03:33. | :03:34.
David Porter is live Behind me is the famous River | :03:35. | :03:50.
Mersey, and Merseyside is what is known as a red region. Labour to the | :03:51. | :03:55.
core. Of course, once Scotland was like that, but no more, and when | :03:56. | :04:00.
Kezia Dugdale came to the conference this afternoon, she was speaking for | :04:01. | :04:04.
the first time since the Holyrood elections in May, when Labour was | :04:05. | :04:09.
relegated to third place, its worst ever result in a Holyrood election. | :04:10. | :04:14.
She defended her campaign, attacked the SNP and the Tories, and said she | :04:15. | :04:17.
would be willing to put taxes up to protect public services, | :04:18. | :04:37.
in her words. Since the vote just over three months ago, for many | :04:38. | :04:39.
people in Scotland, the defining issue is whether there will be a | :04:40. | :04:41.
second independence referendum. Kezia Dugdale tackled that had on. | :04:42. | :04:44.
We do not need the uncertainty of another independence referendum, | :04:45. | :04:48.
which is why we would vote against it. Despite the public show of | :04:49. | :04:52.
support for each other, there are many in labour who still feel that | :04:53. | :04:58.
Jeremy Corbyn is not the right person to lead the party. There are | :04:59. | :05:02.
many Labour MPs who still don't think that he can lead them to a | :05:03. | :05:08.
general election victory. This afternoon, former Scottish Secretary | :05:09. | :05:12.
Ian Murray, who resigned from the Shadow Cabinet, made it plain that | :05:13. | :05:18.
he would only return to the Cabinet if there were elections to that | :05:19. | :05:22.
body. Tomorrow, the conference will vote on proposals to give Scottish | :05:23. | :05:27.
Labour more autonomy, and give Kezia Dugdale or a representative more | :05:28. | :05:32.
power on the body that regulates the whole of the Labour Party, the | :05:33. | :05:44.
so-called National Executive Committee. Tonight, sources in | :05:45. | :05:46.
Scotland are pretty confident they will win that vote tomorrow. Thank | :05:47. | :05:47.
you. And as part of our series | :05:48. | :05:50.
of interviews with party leaders, we'll bring you coverage next week | :05:51. | :05:52.
from the Conservative Party Eight senior doctors, including | :05:53. | :05:55.
the Queen's former surgeon, have been cleared of wrongdoing | :05:56. | :05:57.
after a series of investigations The General Medical Council launched | :05:58. | :06:00.
the probe after NHS Grampian handed over an internal report | :06:01. | :06:04.
into the behaviour of the doctors. Kevin Keane is at | :06:05. | :06:06.
Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. These investigations have been | :06:07. | :06:21.
rumbling on for the last two years. They focused on senior surgeons and | :06:22. | :06:27.
medical staff here at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Among them is the Queen's | :06:28. | :06:32.
former surgeon, Professor Zygmunt Krukowski. Seven other people were | :06:33. | :06:37.
also investigated, and two reports have been published over that time | :06:38. | :06:41.
into their behaviour and practices. One was said to be very critical of | :06:42. | :06:47.
all eight individuals, and it was passed by NHS Grampian to the | :06:48. | :06:51.
General Medical Council for consideration. They have considered | :06:52. | :06:56.
the allegations in that report, and today they have | :06:57. | :07:07.
announced they have been cleared of all allegations against them, and | :07:08. | :07:11.
the case against all eight individuals has now been closed. | :07:12. | :07:13.
This leaves open lots of questions about NHS Grampian's handling of | :07:14. | :07:16.
these issues. About that independent report and its findings, and how | :07:17. | :07:20.
they seem to contradict what the General Medical Council is now | :07:21. | :07:25.
saying, and that ?5 million price tag of these investigations. NHS | :07:26. | :07:30.
Grampian say they do not recognise the ?5 million figure, but they will | :07:31. | :07:40.
comment on the figure that is associated with it. -- will not | :07:41. | :07:45.
comment. Instead they want to focus on the medical service they offer. | :07:46. | :07:50.
The Queen's surgeon says he is gratified that the case against him | :07:51. | :07:54.
and others is closed, and he thanks his colleagues and patients that | :07:55. | :07:58.
their support. But he has now resigned from his post. | :07:59. | :08:00.
Divers have today been assessing the damage caused | :08:01. | :08:02.
to a Caledonian McBrayne ferry which briefly ran aground and hit | :08:03. | :08:05.
the pier as it tried to berth in the Western Isles yesterday. | :08:06. | :08:07.
All 76 passengers and crew escaped uninjured after the vessel appeared | :08:08. | :08:10.
But the incident has raised local concerns. | :08:11. | :08:15.
It was just after 11am yesterday when the MV Hebrides appeared to | :08:16. | :08:30.
steam out of control when she approached Lochmaddy peer in North | :08:31. | :08:37.
Uist. The ferry struck a number of pontoon is, and then struck the pier | :08:38. | :08:42.
before the crew managed to burp her successfully. Eyewitnesses said the | :08:43. | :08:46.
vessel had approached the harbour faster than usual, and an operator | :08:47. | :08:51.
described the incident as the result of a technical failure. The crew | :08:52. | :08:57.
managed to take control of the ship and she safely berthed. There were | :08:58. | :09:03.
41 passengers and 31 crew on board, and no one was injured. Divers have | :09:04. | :09:09.
assessed the whole of the ship today, and the Marine Accident | :09:10. | :09:13.
Investigation Branch has launched its own enquiry. Structural | :09:14. | :09:16.
engineers will have two assess the damage to the pier itself. Safety is | :09:17. | :09:23.
our number one priority, so we currently have 130,000 sailings per | :09:24. | :09:28.
year. We have an incredibly low incidence rate, and that's something | :09:29. | :09:30.
we look to maintain day by day as we operate our surfaces. | :09:31. | :09:54.
has apparently been caused to a series of pontoon is installed just | :09:55. | :09:57.
two years ago by a local group at a cost of hundreds of thousands of | :09:58. | :09:59.
pounds. Fortunately, there were no yachts berthed at the section hit by | :10:00. | :10:02.
the ferry, but questions are now being asked over the siting of the | :10:03. | :10:04.
structure is so close to the ferry terminal. At the time, people were | :10:05. | :10:07.
happy with the siting, but I need to find out for sure. These concerns | :10:08. | :10:12.
have been raised now. Caledonian McBrayne say they are putting on | :10:13. | :10:16.
additional sailings to other routes to try to minimise disruption caused | :10:17. | :10:21.
to the Hebrides being forced out of service. They warn that with high | :10:22. | :10:26.
winds forecast over the next 48 hours, there could be further delays | :10:27. | :10:28.
and cancellations. You're watching BBC | :10:29. | :10:31.
Reporting Scotland. Jeremy Corbyn, the newly | :10:32. | :10:32.
re-elected Labour Leader, tells us he believes the party can | :10:33. | :10:36.
win back support in Scotland. The daily grind of getting | :10:37. | :10:39.
to and from work - but which commuter towns | :10:40. | :10:43.
are the most affordable? The trial of a bin lorry driver | :10:44. | :10:51.
accused of causing the death of an 80-old wheelchair user has | :10:52. | :10:55.
heard from a witness about Ian Dick told the High Court | :10:56. | :10:57.
in Stirling the scene was "shocking", and not one he ever | :10:58. | :11:04.
wished to see again. This is the road where Peter Wills | :11:05. | :11:19.
died in December 2014 in Dunblane. He had been out on a motorised | :11:20. | :11:24.
wheelchair. Scott Hamilton was driving a bin lorry that day. The | :11:25. | :11:30.
prosecution alleged he reversed the lorry into Peter Wills, causing | :11:31. | :11:34.
death by dangerous driving. The court heard that Mr Wills suffered | :11:35. | :11:40.
head and neck injuries, and a number of broken ribs. Ian Dick told the | :11:41. | :11:44.
court he was driving along the road when he found a bin lorry blocking | :11:45. | :11:51.
his way. When the lorry reversed, he heard a grating sound. Ian Dick said | :11:52. | :11:54.
he then got out and went to have a look. -- the driver got out and went | :11:55. | :12:02.
to have a look. When Ian Dick had a look, he saw Mr Wills lying on the | :12:03. | :12:06.
ground in a state of serious distress. Scott Hamilton's colleague | :12:07. | :12:15.
on the day said there was no need for one on their vehicle, and they | :12:16. | :12:19.
both checked their rear-view mirrors. Mr Wills' wife said her | :12:20. | :12:27.
husband had very good vision, and could see a car miles away, despite | :12:28. | :12:30.
husband had very good vision, and having suffered a stroke. Scott | :12:31. | :12:35.
Hamilton denies dangerous driving. The case continues. | :12:36. | :12:37.
For a century, councils have been the dominant force | :12:38. | :12:39.
But what should their role be in the future? | :12:40. | :12:43.
The Scottish government's consulting over just how they should be run | :12:44. | :12:45.
It says it wants to give headteachers more powers - | :12:46. | :12:49.
but some councils fear it's about centralising control. | :12:50. | :12:51.
Our education correspondent Jamie McIvor's been | :12:52. | :12:53.
My name is Apollo V. I used to be a god. This child's is exceptional for | :12:54. | :13:14.
her age. Her school says many students have been helped by a wide | :13:15. | :13:19.
ranging council scheme to help tackle the impact of disadvantage in | :13:20. | :13:23.
the area. It is a complex scheme summed up in a simple idea. We took | :13:24. | :13:29.
a lot for granted and presumed that children came from a rich | :13:30. | :13:34.
environment of literacy when maybe they hadn't. So we go ) to basics | :13:35. | :13:42.
and do lots of reading for enjoy men. The local council argues it is | :13:43. | :13:47.
to go on playing a big part in local schools. The headteacher here has | :13:48. | :13:54.
the power to do the different things she wants to do, sucking the power | :13:55. | :13:59.
into the centre, the same way that has happened with other national | :14:00. | :14:04.
agencies, and controlled from the Centre. That isn't devolution. That | :14:05. | :14:08.
isn't giving teachers or parents more power. The government denies it | :14:09. | :14:13.
is centralising, and says there is no plan for schools to leave council | :14:14. | :14:19.
control. Councils are responsible for school buildings, employing | :14:20. | :14:23.
teachers and deciding how much needs to be spent. The government is | :14:24. | :14:28.
looking at change. Our guiding principle for the way schools are | :14:29. | :14:33.
run is simple. Decisions will be taken at school level. That is at | :14:34. | :14:38.
the heart of this review. We want to empower our teachers and early years | :14:39. | :14:42.
workers to make the best decisions for children and young people. They | :14:43. | :14:50.
have the expertise we need. The proposals also include regional | :14:51. | :14:55.
education board is working across council areas. Councils will now | :14:56. | :14:59.
need to argue the case for the practical powers over the schools | :15:00. | :15:02.
they want to retain. Decisions are expected in the coming months. | :15:03. | :15:06.
A look at other stories from across the country. | :15:07. | :15:12.
Workers on Virgin Trains East Coast are to stage a 24-hour strike a week | :15:13. | :15:19.
on Thursday in a row over jobs and conditions. The rail Maritime and | :15:20. | :15:25.
transport union suspended industrial action in the summer, but the fear | :15:26. | :15:32.
over drop losses remains unresolved. Officers investigating the murder of | :15:33. | :15:38.
Aberdeenshire pensioner Brian McCann PR2 make a national TV appeal for | :15:39. | :15:44.
information tonight. He was brutally attacked at his home on the 11th of | :15:45. | :15:49.
March. His brother will make an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch | :15:50. | :15:56.
programme. There seemed to be no apparent reason. Somebody somewhere | :15:57. | :16:04.
knows what happened. A team of specialist divers is carrying out a | :16:05. | :16:09.
major clean-up of so-called ghost fishing this week. It is the second | :16:10. | :16:14.
year in succession that such an operation has taken place. The | :16:15. | :16:19.
project aims to clear and recycle equipment that has been lost from | :16:20. | :16:23.
boats. North Sea helicopter operators are | :16:24. | :16:27.
being urged to do more to introduce recommended safety measures to | :16:28. | :16:31.
improve the survival chances of passengers and crew if an aircraft | :16:32. | :16:36.
crashes at sea. The Civil Aviation Authority made a series of | :16:37. | :16:41.
recommendations more than two years ago following five significant | :16:42. | :16:45.
accidents involving offshore helicopters. In a report it says | :16:46. | :16:49.
there is currently no specific activity in putting the | :16:50. | :16:53.
recommendations in place. Double Olympic gold medal winner | :16:54. | :16:58.
Heather Stanning has been given the freedom of Murray following her | :16:59. | :17:01.
successful defence of the rowing doubles title at the Rio games. She | :17:02. | :17:05.
had the title displayed upon her this afternoon. It is a huge honour | :17:06. | :17:13.
to be recognised by the local council. To have the freedom of | :17:14. | :17:17.
Murray is amazing. I need to find out what I'm allowed to do! | :17:18. | :17:21.
A survey of commuter towns suggests that Motherwell, | :17:22. | :17:23.
Greenock and Arbroath are the most affordable. | :17:24. | :17:24.
The findings come from a Bank of Scotland study which examined | :17:25. | :17:27.
house prices in towns within an hour's journey | :17:28. | :17:29.
But a separate survey found that a shorter commute | :17:30. | :17:35.
Eastbound the M8 there are delays between junctions two and one at | :17:36. | :17:52.
Hermiston gait. The journey to work can have a bearing on where you | :17:53. | :17:56.
choose to live. As house prices rise in cities not everyone can afford to | :17:57. | :18:01.
set up on near River job is. So what's the best value option within | :18:02. | :18:05.
reasonable commuting distance of four example Edinburgh? It is | :18:06. | :18:10.
Motherwell which despite being almost 40 miles from the capital has | :18:11. | :18:13.
come out as the most affordable commuter town to it and borough. The | :18:14. | :18:20.
average house price here is almost ?100,000 less than those in the | :18:21. | :18:24.
capital. Rowland lives in Carluke and commutes from Motherwell to | :18:25. | :18:30.
work. It's cheaper to live out there, it's nice to be able to | :18:31. | :18:35.
commute in, I get to do a lot of reading on the trains that is quite | :18:36. | :18:38.
good. It is quicker than driving. It's nice to be able to work in the | :18:39. | :18:44.
city but also be able to escape the city. Motherwell tops the affordable | :18:45. | :18:50.
commuter town list. Arbroath and Angus was the best value housing for | :18:51. | :18:54.
those working in Aberdeen, it is an hour drive but the average house is | :18:55. | :18:59.
around ?80,000 less. In the West Greenock was found the most | :19:00. | :19:02.
affordable town in commuting distance to Glasgow. The average | :19:03. | :19:07.
house price around ?40,000 less than the city. Locals say there are other | :19:08. | :19:13.
bonuses. After the hustle and bustle of the city, to be able to escape | :19:14. | :19:18.
down, we have a wonderful waterfront. We have a very good | :19:19. | :19:25.
housing stock which is not one of the most expensive either in | :19:26. | :19:30.
Scotland. There are a lot of people from Glasgow who moved down here | :19:31. | :19:32.
into the new apartments and different things like that that they | :19:33. | :19:37.
are building up. It's been good. Quite a lot, you know? Good train | :19:38. | :19:40.
service and everything like that for them. But it's not just about money. | :19:41. | :19:49.
It's about good schools, sense of space, families, but linked to that | :19:50. | :19:52.
you need good communication links, road and rail and then it's about | :19:53. | :19:56.
getting affordable house that you may not be able to do in the cities. | :19:57. | :20:00.
But before you move to the most affordable place there are other | :20:01. | :20:04.
factors to consider. Another survey found a shorter journey to work led | :20:05. | :20:06.
to increased levels of happiness. Historic environment Scotland said a | :20:07. | :20:22.
shuttle bus service was being introduced from Thursday from the | :20:23. | :20:28.
visitors centre allowing three tours a day. | :20:29. | :20:30.
As you may have heard earlier, one of the world's | :20:31. | :20:32.
most famous golfers - Arnold Palmer - has passed away. | :20:33. | :20:34.
The R chief executive Martin Slumbers has said | :20:35. | :20:37.
he was "a truly iconic figure in sport and global | :20:38. | :20:40.
Palmer was warmly received on each and every visit to Scotland, | :20:41. | :20:45.
A true legend of sport. Arnold Palmer impressed both with his | :20:46. | :21:02.
skills on the course and his gentlemanly conduct off. Amongst his | :21:03. | :21:08.
seven majors there were two open titles, one of them here at Royal | :21:09. | :21:13.
Troon in 1962. I was stewarding for the club at the time, little flags | :21:14. | :21:19.
waved to keep the crowd back and one of the problems was that Arnold | :21:20. | :21:23.
Palmer was surrounded by so many people, he had just won at Birkdale | :21:24. | :21:27.
the previous year in 1961 and when he came here of course he was the | :21:28. | :21:32.
tops in every respect and was a legend even then. A two-time Ryder | :21:33. | :21:38.
Cup captain and 16 player he was part of the victorious American team | :21:39. | :21:43.
at Muirfield in 1973. In victory or defeat he was a shining example of | :21:44. | :21:49.
sportsmanship. He was a legend. Unique marvellous man. It was once | :21:50. | :21:58.
said that around the world everybody knows on Palmer. The only person who | :21:59. | :22:02.
doesn't is Arnold Palmer himself. Because he didn't quite realise how | :22:03. | :22:08.
great a man he was or if he did he kept it very quiet. Perhaps the most | :22:09. | :22:11.
iconic images here came in 1995 when kept it very quiet. Perhaps the most | :22:12. | :22:16.
he emotionally bid farewell to playing an open Championships at St | :22:17. | :22:20.
Andrews. His stature and reputation were recognised with an honorary | :22:21. | :22:26.
degree from the University of St Andrews in 2010. Well I was very | :22:27. | :22:32.
pleased, very proud to be here and to think of all the things which | :22:33. | :22:36.
have happened in 50 years from the first day I walked out on the golf | :22:37. | :22:41.
course here at St Andrews, to know, the differences, all the things that | :22:42. | :22:46.
have happened. Golfers all around the world are thinking of all Palmer | :22:47. | :22:52.
today. Here in Scotland he holds a special place in the memories of | :22:53. | :22:59.
many. Arnold Palmer who died yesterday. | :23:00. | :23:00.
Now here's Shelley Jofre with details of Scotland 2016. | :23:01. | :23:04.
Tonight Kezia Dugdale buries hatchet with the man she used to doubt could | :23:05. | :23:11.
lead Labour to victory. Is it all know peace and unity from here on | :23:12. | :23:16.
in? And cranking up the pressure on Clinton and Trump as they go head to | :23:17. | :23:20.
head on TV, we will be talking about all that and more over on BBC Two at | :23:21. | :23:22.
10:30pm. And time now for the | :23:23. | :23:23.
weather with Kirsteen. Thank you, a turbulent and lively | :23:24. | :23:33.
few days of whether coming up with various low pressure systems passing | :23:34. | :23:37.
to the north of Scotland producing spells of rain and some very strong | :23:38. | :23:41.
winds at times as well. This evening and for the first half of the night | :23:42. | :23:45.
however it becomes driver most of us, some clear spells and in the | :23:46. | :23:49.
north-east under clear skies temperatures will fall to around | :23:50. | :23:53.
three Celsius. During the second half of the night cloud increasing | :23:54. | :23:57.
for most of us again with some outbreaks of rain, misty and market | :23:58. | :24:04.
conditions to come as well and as a result temperatures recovering | :24:05. | :24:06.
somewhat as we head into tomorrow morning. Tomorrow dawns with a lot | :24:07. | :24:09.
of cloud, some outbreaks of rain and some of this will become heavy for a | :24:10. | :24:13.
time to the far north and the Northern Isles. A dramatic change | :24:14. | :24:17.
however as we go through the day with the rain clearing away, behind | :24:18. | :24:21.
it a little dry and bright weather and plenty of sunshine although | :24:22. | :24:25.
there will be increase in the strength of the winds. By tomorrow | :24:26. | :24:29.
afternoon across much of southern central and eastern Scotland it is | :24:30. | :24:33.
looking dry with spells of sunshine. The best in the east and north-east | :24:34. | :24:37.
with temperatures peaking around 19 which may not feel too bad given any | :24:38. | :24:43.
shelter from the winds. Cloudy across the north-west and the | :24:44. | :24:48.
Western Isles with showers developing here and the winds on the | :24:49. | :24:53.
increase. Strong to gale force and are very similar story across the | :24:54. | :24:58.
Northern Isles. As we head into tomorrow evening in the winds | :24:59. | :25:01.
increasing further across the Northern Isles, severe gales | :25:02. | :25:05.
expected, strong to gale force winds across many other parts but a dry | :25:06. | :25:08.
nights to come with just a few showers across the far north-west. | :25:09. | :25:13.
Through Tuesday night that area of low pressure responsible for the | :25:14. | :25:18.
strong winds pulls away, a window of drier weather and the winds easing | :25:19. | :25:23.
for a time before this next area of low pressure pushes for Wednesday. | :25:24. | :25:28.
Wednesday morning some dry and bright conditions across the | :25:29. | :25:31.
north-east, otherwise we will see cloudy conditions with outbreaks of | :25:32. | :25:37.
rain, heaviest and most persistent across the north-west accompanied by | :25:38. | :25:42.
strong to gale force South westerly winds, perhaps severe gales across | :25:43. | :25:45.
the Northern Isles and four Thursday the unsettled conditions continue. | :25:46. | :25:52.
Now, a reminder of tonight's main news. | :25:53. | :25:54.
The newly re-elected Labour Leader, Jeremy Corbyn has told BBC Scotland | :25:55. | :25:56.
he believes the party can win back "a lot" of support in Scotland. | :25:57. | :25:59.
He said there was a "great deal of hope" in the Scottish party, | :26:00. | :26:03.
despite it finishing third in May's Holyrood election. | :26:04. | :26:06.

Eight senior doctors including the Queen 's former surgeon have been | :26:24. | :26:35.
cleared of wrongdoing after a series of investigations said to have cost | :26:36. | :26:40.
?5 million. The General medical Council launched a probe after NHS | :26:41. | :26:44.
Grampian handed over an internal report into the behaviour of the | :26:45. | :26:48.

was like a family car crashing at 90 mph court has heard. Two teenage | :26:54. | :26:59.
girls both lost a leg the collision. Operators face a fine of several | :27:00. | :27:00.
