A memorial service has been held in Glasgow to mark the 15th

anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the USA.

The gathering was organised by the Church of Scotland

and featured both Christians and Muslims.

A familiar hymn, cherished on both sides of the Atlantic. The links

between this Glasgow Paris -- parish and the events of 15 years ago run

deep. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the Reverend Neil Galbraith

founded in aid charity which sent a disaster relief team to New York. We

went across as a team and worked with New York, the family unit, we

brought across 70 families to Scotland for holidays and we

continued to work and advise them on family partnerships. A message of

solidarity from the Muslim community, invited to this service

as equal partners, to pay their respects and to make an important

point. The Muslims have got a bad name for being terrorists, they are

not doing it in my name or in the name of Islam so it is important for

us to take this opportunity to be involved today. The theme of unity

is also reflected in a new charity 's signal -- single, highlighting

the bonds between the pipes and drums of the Scottish buyers service

and the Fire Department of New York. These guys have played at every

single funeral, so they played at 343 funerals, and they continue to

play at funerals because firefighters are still dying from

diseases that they caught in the pit so we want to play for them. It is

15 years since 9/11 but for many Scots the solidarity with their

American cousins is stronger than ever.

A man's been left scarred for life in an

apparently unprovoked attack in a Glasgow pub.

The 33-year-old was assaulted in the Rosevale Tavern in Partick

around six o'clock last night, as he played a fruit machine.

His attacker was seen running towards the city centre.

Tennis, and Jamie Murray has been reflecting on his victory

in the US Men's doubles, calling it a massive achievement.

The Scot, and his Brazilian partner Bruno Soares,

secured their second Grand Slam tournament of the year.

They'd already won at the Australian Open.

Jamie Murray, lifting a grand slam doubles title, the second time it

has happened this year. He was champion in Australia in January

with his partner, Bruno Soares, and now they are the US Open doubles

a silver medal with pilot Pete Mitchell in the Tandem B 1000m

Time Trial. Meanwhile there was another silver

medal in para-triathlon's PT5 for Alison Patrick from Dunfermline,

after a Cake Fest there today. Teams of amateur and

professional bakers from all across Scotland baked
