As a nation, we face the most important five years I can remember. | 4:09:58 | 4:10:02
Getting on with the job and making Brexit work | 4:10:02 | 4:10:05
is the most important task the government faces today. | 4:10:05 | 4:10:09
Our future prosperity, our place in the world | 4:10:09 | 4:10:12
and our standard of living | 4:10:12 | 4:10:14
all depend on getting the next five years right. | 4:10:14 | 4:10:18
This is why our plan for a stronger Britain will establish us | 4:10:18 | 4:10:22
as the strongest and safest country in Europe. | 4:10:22 | 4:10:25
It will lock in our growing economy so we can secure well-paid jobs. | 4:10:25 | 4:10:29
It will provide real opportunity for all, | 4:10:29 | 4:10:32
delivering more affordable homes | 4:10:32 | 4:10:34
and a good school place for every child, | 4:10:34 | 4:10:37
and it will make life in the United Kingdom even better. | 4:10:37 | 4:10:41
But our opponents are already seeking to disrupt our chances | 4:10:41 | 4:10:45
of getting the best deal possible. | 4:10:45 | 4:10:47
That is why I took the decision to call a General Election, | 4:10:47 | 4:10:52
so that we have the strong and stable leadership we need | 4:10:52 | 4:10:55
to see us through Brexit and beyond. | 4:10:55 | 4:10:58
The choice at the election is clear. | 4:10:59 | 4:11:01
Strong and stable leadership with me in the national interest, | 4:11:01 | 4:11:05
where what you see is what you get, | 4:11:05 | 4:11:08
or a hung parliament and coalition of chaos under Jeremy Corbyn, | 4:11:08 | 4:11:12
which every single one of us will pay for in higher taxes, | 4:11:12 | 4:11:16
fewer jobs, more waste and more debt. | 4:11:16 | 4:11:20
This will harm working families. | 4:11:20 | 4:11:23
That is too big a risk to take. | 4:11:23 | 4:11:26
Some people say Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister | 4:11:26 | 4:11:29
is not going to happen, | 4:11:29 | 4:11:30
but in the days of shock election results | 4:11:30 | 4:11:32
and global uncertainty, no-one can ever really be sure who will win. | 4:11:32 | 4:11:37
Just remember, the polls got the General Election wrong in 2015, | 4:11:38 | 4:11:43
they got the EU referendum wrong | 4:11:43 | 4:11:45
and, as Jeremy Corbyn has himself said, he was a 200-1 chance | 4:11:45 | 4:11:49
for the Labour leadership, and look how that went. | 4:11:49 | 4:11:52
So, surely it is better to avoid the chaos because, | 4:11:52 | 4:11:56
if it does happen, we will all pay for it. | 4:11:56 | 4:11:59
So at every election, whether local, regional or national, | 4:11:59 | 4:12:04
every single vote for my local candidates | 4:12:04 | 4:12:07
and my party, the Conservatives, | 4:12:07 | 4:12:09
is a vote for strong and stable leadership in the national interest. | 4:12:09 | 4:12:14
It is a vote to strengthen my negotiating position, | 4:12:14 | 4:12:17
to ensure we get the best Brexit deal possible, | 4:12:17 | 4:12:20
and it is a vote to strengthen our economy. | 4:12:20 | 4:12:23
So, on May 4th and June 8th, vote for my candidate, | 4:12:23 | 4:12:27
the Conservative candidate, | 4:12:27 | 4:12:29
and together let's get on with the job | 4:12:29 | 4:12:32
of making life better for all of us. | 4:12:32 | 4:12:34 |
