Scottish Council Elections 2017: 12/04/2017 Party Election Broadcasts: Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party

'When it comes down to it, politics is about priorities.

'It's about focusing on what matters.

'It's about making sure that you spend your time on the things

'that actually count in life, on building a better future.'

On May the 4th, Scotland goes back to the polls

to elect local councillors right across the country

and at stake is a big question.

It's about the kind of politics we want in Scotland -

one which prioritises division around independence,

or which focuses on your school, your hospital, your local services.

At this election, the Scottish Conservatives are making it clear.

It is time for a better way forward.

Well, people in Scotland have had enough

of the debate on independence. It's dragging us back.

What we all now need to do is move on, so that we can focus on

the really important issues out there, like schools.

One of the reasons we oppose a second referendum is

it's stopping Scotland from tackling the issues that really matter.

It's not just about keeping the United Kingdom together,

it's about moving Scotland forward as well.

One thing you can be sure about,

if you vote for a Scottish Conservative councillor,

is that they are going to be rock solid in keeping our decision

to stay in the UK and that means we can get on with our lives

without having to worry about another referendum.

This focus is vital.

Under the SNP, standards in schools are slipping.

Yet the SNP Government's attention is elsewhere -

on a second referendum most people in Scotland don't want.

On its own constitutional plans, not the day job.

And to make things worse, Labour's Jeremy Corbyn has said

he won't block a second referendum if the SNP demand one.

'Scottish Conservatives in local government won't stand for this.

'We'll get Scotland focused back onto what really matters.'

Politics is always about what's important,

that's why my message at these elections is simple -

vote for me and my candidates and we can send the SNP a message.

No to yet further uncertainty and division,

and yes to your local school and your local services.

So, please, on the 4th of May,

vote Scottish Conservative and let's put Scotland back on track.
