We are living through | 0:00:12 | 0:00:13
massive political change. | 0:00:13 | 0:00:15
It hasn't been easy watching. | 0:00:16 | 0:00:17
We will build a great wall along... | 0:00:17 | 0:00:19
Old certainties we once thought permanent are no more. | 0:00:21 | 0:00:25
Values we once took for granted are under threat. | 0:00:26 | 0:00:30
Institutions we once believed stable are now at risk. | 0:00:30 | 0:00:34
Now, more than ever, we need change that can unite us, | 0:00:36 | 0:00:39
rather than divide us. | 0:00:39 | 0:00:41
We need change that puts an end to the old battles of identity | 0:00:41 | 0:00:44
and replaces it with a new battle for ideas. | 0:00:44 | 0:00:48
But to make that change happen, | 0:00:48 | 0:00:50
we need to turn our anger into action and, to do that, | 0:00:50 | 0:00:54
we need to come out and vote on the 2nd of March. | 0:00:54 | 0:00:57
Scandals have plagued this government, | 0:00:57 | 0:01:00
from the renewable heat incentive, | 0:01:00 | 0:01:02
to the DUP's links with NAMA, | 0:01:02 | 0:01:05
to using taxpayer's money | 0:01:05 | 0:01:07
to fund loyalist paramilitaries. | 0:01:07 | 0:01:10
Millions of pounds has been siphoned off to paramilitaries | 0:01:11 | 0:01:14
posing as community workers. | 0:01:14 | 0:01:17
Tens of millions of pounds has gone up in smoke, | 0:01:17 | 0:01:19
as a result of the renewable heat incentive scandal - | 0:01:19 | 0:01:22
a scheme devised by Arlene Foster. | 0:01:22 | 0:01:25
You have the chance to change all of that in this election. | 0:01:25 | 0:01:30
You have the chance to put honesty and integrity | 0:01:30 | 0:01:32
back in the centre of political life. | 0:01:32 | 0:01:35
Vote SDLP - make change happen. | 0:01:35 | 0:01:38
Brexit not only threatens jobs and our economy, | 0:01:40 | 0:01:44
it also threatens a return of border crossings between North and South. | 0:01:44 | 0:01:48
This passport represents my Irish and European citizenship. | 0:01:48 | 0:01:52
We're the only party that are representing the 56% | 0:01:52 | 0:01:56
of those who voted to Remain. | 0:01:56 | 0:01:58
We will fight against a hard border. | 0:01:58 | 0:02:00
We will fight to secure special EU status | 0:02:00 | 0:02:04
and we will fight to support those EU citizens living here. | 0:02:04 | 0:02:08
Northern Ireland is being left behind | 0:02:08 | 0:02:11
when it comes to winning equality for all our people. | 0:02:11 | 0:02:14
Some in our government talk about equality, | 0:02:15 | 0:02:18
but have delivered nothing. | 0:02:18 | 0:02:20
For the SDLP, equality isn't just a slogan for an election poster. | 0:02:21 | 0:02:24
It has to be about government delivery. | 0:02:24 | 0:02:27
That means supporting families back into work, | 0:02:27 | 0:02:29
with affordable childcare, | 0:02:29 | 0:02:30
and it means finally delivering for the thousands of women | 0:02:30 | 0:02:32
who are being denied their full state pension. | 0:02:32 | 0:02:35
And it means that 2017 is the year that Northern Ireland | 0:02:35 | 0:02:37
finally gets full equal civil marriage. | 0:02:37 | 0:02:40
It also means finally delivering on an Irish Language Act. | 0:02:40 | 0:02:44
Ciallionn se sa deire thiar thall Acht na Gaeilge a chur i gcrith. | 0:02:44 | 0:02:48
Dean an difir a iarraidh - votail SDLP. | 0:02:48 | 0:02:51
So you have a choice. | 0:02:52 | 0:02:54
You can vote for parties that can't work together, | 0:02:54 | 0:02:57
that don't want to work together, | 0:02:57 | 0:02:59
or you can vote for parties | 0:02:59 | 0:03:01
that DO want to work together, | 0:03:01 | 0:03:02
that actually enjoy working together. | 0:03:02 | 0:03:06
Every election, people like me tell you that this | 0:03:06 | 0:03:09
is a very important election and that you have to come out and vote. | 0:03:09 | 0:03:13
And I understand your frustration with the politics of today, | 0:03:13 | 0:03:17
and of the last 10 and 15 years, | 0:03:17 | 0:03:19
but let me tell you this - | 0:03:19 | 0:03:21
this IS an important election. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:23
This IS a chance to make a change. | 0:03:23 | 0:03:26
But you can't do it by sitting at home. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:29
You have to come out and make your voice heard. | 0:03:29 | 0:03:32
I'm asking you to do that. | 0:03:33 | 0:03:35
To make that change, by voting SDLP. | 0:03:35 | 0:03:39
