English Local Elections: 13/04/2017 Party Election Broadcasts: UK Independence Party

Last June, 17.4 million people,

the most that have ever voted for anything in this country,

voted to leave the European Union,

take back control and forge our own destiny in the 21st century.

Ukip members have campaigned for this for 23 years,

but this is only the beginning of regaining control,

and that's why I'm asking you

to support Ukip in these local elections.

My priority as a Ukip councillor

is to house local people

and veterans first of all.

I certainly would want us to make sure

that we protect our greenfield sites

and that we build on brownfield sites first of all

and, more importantly,

we build affordable homes for the local people.

Ukip stands for, and has always stood for,

the ordinary person who wants to be left alone

and enjoy life as they please,

in a community of shared values and in a country that governs itself.

We don't want to be governed excessively,

expensively or indeed remotely.

Ukip are the only party brave enough to oppose health tourism

and the only party prepared to cut the foreign aid budget

so that we can fund adult social care in this country.

As a Ukip councillor,

I believe that every child has a right to a good quality education.

Parents have the right to choose where their children are schooled.

Ukip councillors will do this for you, we will fight for you.

Ukip councillors were elected four years ago.

Everywhere they were elected, they fought to rebuild democracy,

they fought to keep costs down,

they've opposed any increase in councillors' allowance,

and they've worked hard on behalf of the working people who elected them.

I'm voting Ukip because I know

that Ukip will prioritise roads and maintenance.

Potholes are a priority over council vanity schemes.

Ukip believes in a really good rural bus service,

something that our communities desperately need.

We want to continue to do our bit for local communities.

Unlike other parties, Ukip councillors are not whipped.

They are there to serve the local community,

they will always put local needs above party affiliation.

As a Ukip councillor,

I do what my constituents need me to do,

not what my party want me to do.

Local government is about local people

and Ukip believes you should have more of a decision

in what happens in your area.

Ukip is the only organisation

that has successfully challenged a sitting government,

and we have a strong record in local councils

up and down the country,

and that's why I'm asking you to support us on May 4th,

and ensure that we really take back control.

That's why I'm a Ukip councillor.

And that is why I am fighting to be a Ukip councillor.
