What have the steel crisis, the Bedroom Tax...

the European Union...

..and secret bank accounts in Geneva and Panama got in common?

They all demonstrate that capitalism is a system of crisis,

big business power and financial corruption.

A glut threatens the future of a vital productive industry,

and when big business can't make a profit,

it chooses cutbacks, shutdowns and mass redundancies,

and it's us, society, that has to pick up the bill.

Ramon, you were a steelworker before you went on to work for BT.

What do you think could be done to save our steel industry today?

The government should nationalise it,

invest in it, subsidise it throughout the crisis,

keep it in public ownership to help build the infrastructure

that we need in Wales, which are new railway links, tidal power,

superfast broadband and all the rest.

So, not sell it off to another multi-national corporation

-or hedge fund, then?

-Definitely not.

In the short term, we should protect our steel industry here

from the imports from Europe,

which are seven times greater than those from China.

But the European Union would outlaw that,

just as it outlaws state subsidies.

We shouldn't have to worry about the bureaucrats in Brussels.

We bailed out the Royal Bank of Scotland with £45 billion

of public money, which is enough to see the steel industry here

through every glut for the next 500 years.

The Panama Papers show that

214,000 off-the-shelf companies have been set up,

many of them to avoid paying taxes on their profits in Britain.

Last year, it was revealed that 30,000 British citizens

held secret bank accounts in Geneva, in one bank alone,

most of them in order to dodge paying their taxes here.

The super-rich robbed the Treasury of hundreds of billions of pounds,

while we're told that the Bedroom Tax,

cuts in disability and other welfare benefits,

and yet more cuts in public services are necessary.

At the last two General Elections, only the Communist Party

called for all overseas tax havens under British rule to be shut down.

Only the Communist Party stands for public ownership,

an economic plan for Wales, and taxing the fat cats

and leaving the anti-democratic, big business EU.

In line with EU fiscal policy,

the Tory government in London has chopped billions

from our National Assembly's block grant,

yet the Welsh Tories blame Welsh Labour for the cuts.

Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru attack the Tories but not the EU.

The Lib Dems and Greens are also cheerleaders for the EU,

while Ukip blame migrant workers and refugees.

Only the Welsh Communists call for a federal Britain,

in which our National Assembly has the powers

and resources it needs to build a modern economy and a fair society,

a socialist society, based on tolerance and social justice.

The Assembly's voting system meant that four years ago,

Labour won a regional seat in only one of the five Welsh regions.

This time, don't waste your second vote.

If you want real socialists in our National Assembly,

use your second regional vote to vote Communist.
