All across the country, millions of families are waking up to a Britain

0:03:260:03:31

in which they find it harder to get on.

0:03:310:03:33

Whilst the Government keeps telling people everything is fixed,

0:03:330:03:37

many are finding that hard work

0:03:370:03:39

no longer stops the pound in their pocket getting smaller, or the bills

0:03:390:03:43

getting harder to afford. Under David Cameron,

0:03:430:03:45

gas and electricity bills have increased by more than £300

0:03:450:03:50

for an average family, whilst the energy companies

0:03:500:03:52

are making huge profits.

0:03:520:03:53

Meanwhile childcare - not a luxury but an essential

0:03:540:03:58

for millions of working families - gets harder to find

0:03:580:04:00

and more expensive. Under David Cameron,

0:04:000:04:03

the cost of a nursery place has risen 30%,

0:04:030:04:05

and there are 500 fewer Sure Start centres

0:04:050:04:09

and 35,000 fewer childcare places.

0:04:090:04:12

Whilst claiming to be cutting taxes, David Cameron

0:04:120:04:16

has put up taxes 24 times on hardworking families.

0:04:160:04:19

His increase in VAT alone has cost the average family £450

0:04:190:04:23

by putting up the price of dozens of everyday essentials,

0:04:230:04:26

a cost-of-living crisis for many working people.

0:04:260:04:30

However, there is one group that he does care about.

0:04:300:04:32

David Cameron's priority has been the most privileged,

0:04:320:04:36

who have been handed huge tax cuts

0:04:360:04:37

worth many thousands of pounds every year,

0:04:370:04:40

while personal debt for ordinary families is rising

0:04:400:04:43

and their wages continue to be squeezed.

0:04:430:04:45

And now the Tories are planning another tax giveaway

0:04:450:04:48

for the top 1% of earners.

0:04:480:04:51

Thanks to the Liberal Democrats, the average young person

0:04:510:04:53

is now going to leave university

0:04:530:04:55

weighed down with more than £30,000 in student debts and loans.

0:04:550:04:59

Some of them will take more than 20 years to pay it off.

0:04:590:05:02

That's a lifetime of debt before they have even started work,

0:05:020:05:06

and all because the Liberal Democrats wouldn't keep their promises.

0:05:060:05:09

All because every day Nick Clegg is propping up a Tory government.

0:05:090:05:12

No wonder young people are finding it harder than ever

0:05:120:05:15

to get on the housing ladder.

0:05:150:05:16

Under David Cameron and Nick Clegg, the average working person

0:05:180:05:21

is a shocking £1,600 worse off a year.

0:05:210:05:24

Dealing with this government's cost-of-living crisis

0:05:240:05:27

has never been so important.

0:05:270:05:29

Britain can do much better than this.

0:05:290:05:32

Britain should work for hardworking people, not just a privileged few.

0:05:320:05:36
