Welcome back to our Diamond League highlights, the second part of the

:00:49.:00:52.

Scandinavian double-header. Many of those athletes from Oslo

:00:53.:01:15.

have made the short journey to Stockholm so let's join your

:01:16.:01:16.

commentators. COMMENTATOR: The 400 metre hurdles

:01:17.:01:26.

first on the track, on the outside jack green of Great Britain, very

:01:27.:01:30.

close to the crowd, that is going to be hard, on the home straight, he is

:01:31.:01:36.

in good form, close to breaking 49 seconds in Prague. The 21-year-old

:01:37.:01:45.

Norwegian, former Decathlete, national record in 400 metres flat

:01:46.:01:48.

and the new national record in 400 metre hurdles the other night in

:01:49.:01:55.

Oslo. He is a real character. Has he recovered? Jackson's best goes all

:01:56.:02:04.

the way to 2005 but he has been in the mid 48's this year. The

:02:05.:02:10.

Estonian, silver-medallist in Zurich in 2014. Jackson, world champion

:02:11.:02:25.

back in 2005. Against a man who even the great Ed Moses said he's got the

:02:26.:02:29.

ability and the talent and just needs the experience, Warmholm in

:02:30.:02:38.

line seven. Safely away, Warmholm already taking have a metre, maybe

:02:39.:02:42.

an metre out of Jack Green, started very quickly. Jackson up, getting

:02:43.:02:51.

moving down the back straight, Warmholm who is there to be shot at

:02:52.:02:55.

has gone hard to the first 200 metres as he did in Oslo. He is

:02:56.:03:01.

leading the 400 metre hurdles around the top bend, the Norwegian very

:03:02.:03:03.

strong in the home straight and he will have to be year but Jackson

:03:04.:03:08.

must surely chase them down, Warmholm in the lead, not much in it

:03:09.:03:12.

at this point, Jackson makes a mistake, will he pay for that?

:03:13.:03:17.

Warmholm, Jack Green coming back into it, but Warmholm, winning it,

:03:18.:03:24.

very close. It wasn't quite as impressive as the

:03:25.:03:35.

other night, he does not look quite as tired but it is another win and

:03:36.:03:39.

it's underlining his potential you keep winning and then you become a

:03:40.:03:47.

medal contender. Two Diamond League wins in a row for the young

:03:48.:03:52.

Norwegian. Jackson could not do anything, horrible mistake coming

:03:53.:03:55.

into the home straight and that put paid to his chances. It dead and

:03:56.:04:02.

it's a shame because that has been, Jack Green having a good run on the

:04:03.:04:06.

outside, you could see Warmholm winning by a couple of metres and

:04:07.:04:11.

that's a great habit to have, home crowd advantage in Oslo but is not

:04:12.:04:17.

got that here. He's away from home and yet he takes are very, very good

:04:18.:04:22.

field pretty comfortably. Impressive. I am sure one or two

:04:23.:04:25.

might say conditions were pretty out there. Jack Green of Great Britain

:04:26.:04:37.

in fourth place. Jackson outside 50 seconds, poor from him. We can go

:04:38.:04:43.

over to the discus, Perez of Cuba, first-round throw, the wind right in

:04:44.:04:51.

their face. They do like it coming at them but slightly from the right.

:04:52.:04:56.

Should be able to take advantage of this. Fourth in the World

:04:57.:05:00.

Championships two years ago in Beijing and that is a fabulous

:05:01.:05:05.

opener from the 26-year-old. Second in Oslo only six athletes in this

:05:06.:05:13.

women's competition, they are alternating with the men's discus

:05:14.:05:17.

for which there are eight athletes so quite long gaps. That throws down

:05:18.:05:23.

the gauntlet to the Olympic champion.

:05:24.:05:33.

Speaking of the Olympic champion, here she goes, first round, betrayal

:05:34.:05:40.

Perez the other night and tell the latter stages in Oslo. Will want to

:05:41.:05:49.

start better today. If she was too win, it would be a 37th Diamond

:05:50.:05:55.

League win, she holds the record with 36, just cutting off that a

:05:56.:06:00.

little bit, Perkovic. Not far off, just below the early lead from

:06:01.:06:07.

Perez. I was watching the discus practice and it looks like they are

:06:08.:06:11.

much happier with the conditions, little bit of wind to help, looking

:06:12.:06:16.

for bigger distances, some good warming up and that's not a bad

:06:17.:06:19.

start for Perkovic but she is in second place.

:06:20.:06:28.

It's a bad battle building between the big pairing in the discus,

:06:29.:06:43.

Muller, World Championship silver-medallist in 2011, she is a

:06:44.:06:50.

huge character. One metre 93, six foot four. Fourth in Oslo with 62.90

:06:51.:06:55.

and that is so much better, around 66 metres. 65 .74 minutes into third

:06:56.:07:08.

place and a big smile and no wonder. Still to come, the 400 metres, can

:07:09.:07:14.

Rabah Yousif bring his good form to the Diamond League? Andrew Pozzi has

:07:15.:07:17.

another chance to test his form against some of the best in the

:07:18.:07:21.

world. Without casters are many out there will be a new winner of the

:07:22.:07:25.

women's 800 metres this season for the first time. And all the best

:07:26.:07:30.

from the field including the South African sensation Luvo Manyonga in

:07:31.:07:40.

the long jump. Some big chucks throws, this is the world number

:07:41.:07:48.

one, Dacres of Jamaica. How well this one go out? Very big indeed

:07:49.:07:57.

from Dacres, my oh my. It's out towards 67 metres. Very, very quick,

:07:58.:08:04.

he is only 23. Early in the developing years of a discus

:08:05.:08:06.

thrower, they can go well into their 30s. Elevates into the lead. The

:08:07.:08:19.

hometown favourite, Daniel Stahl, he lives and trains in Stockholm. It's

:08:20.:08:26.

turning into a great competition, they are Pepperami 67-metre line.

:08:27.:08:35.

Not much to choose between them, has he found enough to move into the

:08:36.:08:39.

lead? Daniel Stahl, great win in Oslo the other night, 67.34, takes

:08:40.:08:44.

the lead. Next to run on the track the women's

:08:45.:09:03.

300 metres, but next, third-round effort, he also takes advantage of

:09:04.:09:12.

this very favourable wind, big effort from Milanov. I think he has

:09:13.:09:16.

improved his season 's best yet further. Only a couple of

:09:17.:09:20.

centimetres less than an inch with that second-round effort. Very, very

:09:21.:09:29.

close to the lead. Less than a third of metres short of the Swede but

:09:30.:09:32.

still chance of home victory. The European champion back in 2014

:09:33.:09:45.

in Zurich, in pretty good form, great athlete. Watch our, three

:09:46.:09:56.

times Swedish champion, she has good strength.

:09:57.:10:09.

Gebru third in the world junior cross-country in 2011, still only

:10:10.:10:19.

25. The Ukrainian will be the first pacemaker as she so often is in

:10:20.:10:23.

these big Diamond League meetings, hoping to get to around three laps,

:10:24.:10:28.

then the Australian will take over and try to get them through to two

:10:29.:10:37.

kilometres bridge is quite a tall order especially in this wind. Let's

:10:38.:10:46.

see if they go with it. Rani 10,000 personal best, slots into third

:10:47.:10:55.

place behind. Single file almost straightaway. They are going to take

:10:56.:11:04.

the bell, four of them within a chance. They come through below us

:11:05.:11:16.

in third place the green shorts at the back of the pack just dropping

:11:17.:11:19.

away from them now as the pace begins to pick up. Disappointing

:11:20.:11:30.

form so far this year, no wonder she's struggling, they have not

:11:31.:11:34.

started kicking hard jet, but just beginning to wind it up, she has

:11:35.:11:41.

such long legs, Bahta, it's deceptive as she hits 200 metres,

:11:42.:11:47.

going so wide, almost room to get on her inside and they come around the

:11:48.:11:51.

ground of the bend and Bahta still doesn't have the gap she would like,

:11:52.:11:56.

Gebru on her shoulder looking strong, has got the temerity to move

:11:57.:12:01.

up onto her shoulder, kicking ahead into the straight, arms going hard,

:12:02.:12:08.

side-by-side bees two, Bahta getting the cheer from the home crowd, she

:12:09.:12:14.

gets a metre ahead and stays Anita Rani head as they reach the line.

:12:15.:12:26.

Would be a personal best, so much work done over the final four 500

:12:27.:12:34.

metres, what a shame, the opportunity of a quick time from

:12:35.:12:46.

very solid pacemaking. Let it slip. Reduced it to fairly run-of-the-mill

:12:47.:12:52.

race against the clock. Bahta having a bit more of a battle against the

:12:53.:12:59.

25-year-old Gebru. Then she might have expected. For athletes you

:13:00.:13:06.

look, endurance is good, good 1500 metre pace, I think she should be

:13:07.:13:11.

looking to run under 8.4 zero. 8.47 is OK but had to work so hard for

:13:12.:13:17.

it, managed to take out just enough of Gebru who is not top world-class

:13:18.:13:22.

Ethiopian runner but Gebru pushing her really hard. Maybe just went a

:13:23.:13:26.

bit too early, with the crowd helping came back.

:13:27.:13:33.

The other night in the discus in Oslo this man took an early lead and

:13:34.:13:42.

then saw it slip away from him. Fourth round, that one flying out

:13:43.:13:49.

there as well. That's very, very close to the lead. The lead still

:13:50.:14:00.

held by Daniel Stahl. But he knows that's close. 67.29, just five

:14:01.:14:07.

centimetres short, moves into a clear second place.

:14:08.:14:16.

Now, the big Jamaican, says he took up discus throwing when his brother

:14:17.:14:23.

was doing it and thought it looked good fun, he's got a bit of a group

:14:24.:14:30.

going and he is hoping to get more Jamaicans going. That's a cracking

:14:31.:14:36.

throw. This is warming up, the 23-year-old, personal best of 68.88

:14:37.:14:40.

set earlier this year and that will not be far-away. The world lead, not

:14:41.:14:47.

too far away from that either, it's his own world lead, 68.36 takes the

:14:48.:15:02.

lead. Fourth round, Dacres has it. Now, does not have the wrap victory

:15:03.:15:09.

wrapped up year but she is under a bit of pressure with Perez still

:15:10.:15:15.

leading, we are into the fifth round so Perkovic has two more attempts to

:15:16.:15:20.

not lose this incredible record. Almost losing her balance, hanging

:15:21.:15:26.

on. Right on the line, that's close. The line is just a guide, that is

:15:27.:15:31.

very close indeed. The lead held by Perez. Has Perkovic done what she

:15:32.:15:41.

did the other night? No! She works a bit disconsolate, I am sure at last

:15:42.:15:46.

round she might manage to improve but she will have to do, second

:15:47.:15:54.

place. Know the pole vault, Nicole Buchler. Just squeezed on the 455,

:15:55.:16:09.

4.65 for the Swiss. Living dangerously, hitting it with her

:16:10.:16:14.

legs and then the chest again. But that gives her the lead.

:16:15.:16:22.

Such a huge talent, this young Swede. Over a only five centimetres

:16:23.:16:41.

shy of her lifetime best. Plenty for the Swedish crowd to cheer about

:16:42.:16:43.

here. that is going to warm them up, isn't

:16:44.:16:53.

it? Only five centimetres short of the Swedish record. Bengtsson going

:16:54.:17:08.

well... That is nice! And celebrating well there, Peinado.

:17:09.:17:15.

That is three athletes now clear, remember, first time around, Buchler

:17:16.:17:21.

went clear, then Bengtsson, and now Peinado. But Silva failed her first

:17:22.:17:25.

attempt at this height. A couple more attempts. Back on the track, it

:17:26.:17:34.

is the men's 400 metres next, we have a very good field here, we have

:17:35.:17:39.

a late withdrawal, I think Matthew Hudson-Smith must have pulled out,

:17:40.:17:46.

the man who was going to be in is Thebe, he is going to be in lane

:17:47.:17:51.

five, and then you have Steven Cardno, really looking forward to

:17:52.:17:57.

seeing this tall and young Bohemian man. -- Steven Gardner. He began the

:17:58.:18:03.

season with a real bang back at home in the Caribbean. He now trains in

:18:04.:18:12.

Florida. We also have rubber use of, no Hudson-Smith, he was a late

:18:13.:18:15.

withdrawal, scheduled to run, he should have been outside this man

:18:16.:18:23.

here, but the one to watch is Steven Gardner, how quickly can he run in

:18:24.:18:30.

these conditions? Will he run down Thebe outside of him. Cleanly away,

:18:31.:18:36.

he began pretty slowly, and Thebe has gone really hard outside of him,

:18:37.:18:45.

we have the Botswanan going harder through the first 200. But Steven

:18:46.:18:47.

Gardiner, with that elegant action of his, storming down the back

:18:48.:18:54.

straight. Thebe needs to react but he cannot, Steven Gardiner is flying

:18:55.:18:58.

at the moment! Can he finish this off? In the home straight, a pretty

:18:59.:19:06.

big lead. Gardiner with his elegant stride, trying to get there. Thebe

:19:07.:19:10.

coming back, you may hold on, that is pretty tight, but Gardiner is

:19:11.:19:18.

going to win it, watch the clock. In third spot, we had Borlee. It looked

:19:19.:19:27.

at a canter, to be fair. I would love to know what he ran after the

:19:28.:19:33.

first 50 metres, round two, with 1.50 to go in that first section, he

:19:34.:19:37.

paid a little bit for that, I don't know if he judged it right but in

:19:38.:19:44.

these conditions, 34.58, the 400 metres is a cracking event, with the

:19:45.:19:47.

new world record holder, but Gardiner is a real talent. He is

:19:48.:19:53.

very fluid and slight, so then in the torso. He maintains form really

:19:54.:20:01.

well. -- he is so thin. The temptation is to really begin to

:20:02.:20:04.

grimace in the last few metres. Despite that pressure, he must be

:20:05.:20:08.

aware of Thebe through the corner of his eye. He looks relaxed as he

:20:09.:20:12.

crosses the line. The battle drew them well clear of the rest.

:20:13.:20:19.

Gardiner winning 34.5 eight. Ignore the Hudson-Smith result at the

:20:20.:20:26.

bottom, it was Yousif there. And finishing well, that was Borlee. The

:20:27.:20:34.

pressure is really on perturbation in the last round of the discus.

:20:35.:20:38.

This would have been her 37th Diamond League win, she has to find

:20:39.:20:45.

something here if she isn't to lose today, Perkovic. She is going after

:20:46.:20:53.

it and watching it... Now... How far was that, then? Perkovic is kind of

:20:54.:20:59.

celebrating there. Now... Did she stay in the circle? Very close to

:21:00.:21:07.

the lead there. I'm sure, it is coming up for us as a no throw. Look

:21:08.:21:12.

at the disappointment on her face, she does not like losing, it does

:21:13.:21:17.

not often happen to her. That is a big shock. The winner of the women's

:21:18.:21:24.

discus is Peres. Just waiting for the winter to ease off, it is

:21:25.:21:31.

blowing very strongly. -- Perez. -- waiting for the wind to ease off. A

:21:32.:21:36.

home straight tail wind is blowing in the opposite direction of our

:21:37.:21:42.

commentary position. No, out she goes. Silva finishes no better than

:21:43.:21:47.

fifth place today in Stockholm, a significant upset given the form of

:21:48.:21:52.

the recent weeks in the women's discus. Now, only Daniel store can

:21:53.:22:05.

deny Dacres victory. Daniel store, even Dacres. Needs to find it half a

:22:06.:22:16.

metre or so. Watch again, it has not taken flight -- Daniel Stahl. They

:22:17.:22:22.

cannot see that line that is superimposed on your screen. They

:22:23.:22:25.

think it is close but we can see it is not close enough. 66.95 in the

:22:26.:22:31.

previous round. Well, it is better, and improvement. 68.13, a good

:22:32.:22:40.

performance from the Swede. That will be second today. So, Stahl with

:22:41.:22:48.

a good effort in the last round. A big throw, but not good enough. That

:22:49.:22:54.

man there, Dacres, taking the win, 68.30 six. Back to the track, it is

:22:55.:23:03.

time for the men's steeplechase. The one who everyone will be watching is

:23:04.:23:09.

that tall figure there. A massive improvement, 8.05, a great race

:23:10.:23:15.

against his competitor in Rome, a new personal best there. In good

:23:16.:23:23.

form as well, another good run from him that night. Well down the field

:23:24.:23:33.

was Kowal, given the field we've got today, not filled with the same kind

:23:34.:23:38.

of talent. On his day, capable of running well. In the absence of the

:23:39.:23:44.

big Kenyan names, Bett with a personal best of 8.10. This is a

:23:45.:23:57.

young and emerging talent from Eritrea, Haileselassie, 19 years

:23:58.:24:01.

old, a silver medal at the Junior Championships last year, setting a

:24:02.:24:06.

personal best in Rome at 8.11. They have asked for a pretty good pace,

:24:07.:24:10.

and are hoping to get to two kilometres in about 5.22, giving

:24:11.:24:14.

them the chance to get into the low eight minutes. You can see these

:24:15.:24:20.

conditions, as we have said on more than one occasion, they are pretty

:24:21.:24:23.

tricky. The men's 3000 metres steeplechase. The pole vault once

:24:24.:24:31.

again... But first-time clearance, and here she goes again... It really

:24:32.:24:44.

affects your run-up, to get that rate, I was reading an article where

:24:45.:24:48.

she said she was working so hard on the technical aspects, is she heard?

:24:49.:24:57.

Let's just watch this. Maybe it was on her landing... She comes down.

:24:58.:25:03.

That is a shame for Bengtsson, appearing to be in the form of her

:25:04.:25:08.

life, clearing for metres 61 centimetres, that's a shame for her,

:25:09.:25:13.

I would be surprised if she manages to go again, the Swiss Buchler with

:25:14.:25:22.

her third attempt... Just running through there. It is so difficult,

:25:23.:25:26.

as I was saying, will in these windy conditions. It is on their back Law.

:25:27.:25:31.

It is really difficult to control the runner-up. The pole vault can be

:25:32.:25:36.

so dangerous, if you do not manage to do that. A season's best for her.

:25:37.:25:45.

Congratulations to Buchler. Look at this, almost climbing over that for

:25:46.:25:54.

me, El Bakkali looking tired, but with two laps to go, can he find

:25:55.:25:59.

something here? Six minutes left, he would have to find something

:26:00.:26:03.

sensational in the last 800 metres. Not quite, the barrier... The water

:26:04.:26:07.

jump is on the inside. I do not think he is in danger of losing this

:26:08.:26:12.

at all, time slips away a little. A good battle for second place. I am

:26:13.:26:20.

watching in third place you have Kowal, running three metres 36 down

:26:21.:26:24.

in Marseille, 40 steeplechase competitor, that is very good middle

:26:25.:26:30.

distance running. Eight minutes 15 seconds is a solid run, he has

:26:31.:26:35.

freshened up in the last ten days. We may yet see Kowal doing damage in

:26:36.:26:40.

the final lap and a half. They will be hoping to get close to eight

:26:41.:26:49.

metres ten, -- 8.10, Kowal. The group is a little further back, I do

:26:50.:26:54.

not think they have any chance of being in second or third year, the

:26:55.:26:59.

leader El Bakkali approaching the bell. A slow lap there. A round of

:27:00.:27:05.

66 seconds, may be slightly more? 67 or 68, Kowal is suddenly not running

:27:06.:27:11.

as strongly as he was, going back into third position, it is El

:27:12.:27:17.

Bakkali, setting out really hard. Two minutes and 39 seconds in the

:27:18.:27:21.

first kilometre, then two minutes 45 for his second. This is even slower.

:27:22.:27:26.

Haileselassie picking up down the back straight, I do not think he's

:27:27.:27:29.

in with a chance of catching the Moroccan, but he is moving away from

:27:30.:27:35.

Bett in third. And Kowal struggling in fourth, climbing over El Bakkali,

:27:36.:27:39.

very tired, the one permission quicker. This gap is too big. For

:27:40.:27:49.

Haileselassie. And in third place, Bett. Struggling in the water is

:27:50.:27:57.

Kowal. Into the home straight, you have El Bakkali. You saw Kowal

:27:58.:28:02.

almost stopping in the water. It is a good win for him. The entire last

:28:03.:28:07.

800 metres, after going so quickly in the beginning. The time is going

:28:08.:28:11.

to be about eight minutes 15 seconds, slightly after.

:28:12.:28:16.

Haileselassie in second place, and hanging on for third spot, you have

:28:17.:28:23.

Bett. The winner is El Bakkali with eight minutes 15 seconds. You need

:28:24.:28:28.

these hard races, El Bakkali is one step closer to his best form.

:28:29.:28:32.

Comfortable with that time, even if he did slow a little bit through the

:28:33.:28:37.

final third. That is the result. Winning by three seconds in the end,

:28:38.:28:43.

El Bakkali, Haileselassie doing well in second, and in third Bett.

:28:44.:28:58.

the athletes on the track and stripped down, ready for the women's

:28:59.:29:29.

200 metres, and Dean lane six, you have the silver-medallist in the

:29:30.:29:34.

World Championships in the 100 and 200 back in 2013, 29 years old now,

:29:35.:29:47.

and second in Oslo in lane five, you have Lalova-Collio. The three times

:29:48.:29:57.

Europe and under 23 champion, the German Haase, a good draw for her,

:29:58.:30:02.

22 minutes 58 is her season's best. Garcia is still Garcia from Spain.

:30:03.:30:10.

The champion goes in lane three. Most recently 23.18 was a win and

:30:11.:30:18.

crystal Emanuel of Canada, seven in Rio. If she is ever present in their

:30:19.:30:21.

squad, a second leg athlete. Very quickly into her

:30:22.:30:44.

running. Third from left, my word, Ahoure tears around the bend. Haase,

:30:45.:30:50.

the German, in second place, good running from Crystal Emanuel, the

:30:51.:30:54.

Canadian. A strong brand, Haase comes back towards Ahoure, who has

:30:55.:30:59.

been caught, reeling in. Emanuel is very tight indeed, goodness me! It

:31:00.:31:03.

is difficult to separate, 1.1 is the wind behind them. 22.69 is the time.

:31:04.:31:09.

The flowers go to Ahoure, it was very close indeed, I would not want

:31:10.:31:19.

to be responsible for saying it was definitely Ahoure. She does get it,

:31:20.:31:22.

by a 100th of a second, a season's best for the Ivory Coast national.

:31:23.:31:25.

That was some handicap, running a superb straight to take second

:31:26.:31:31.

place, 22.69, a personal best. Haase with 22.70 six. A personal best, not

:31:32.:31:35.

far behind. Clearly conditions there are pretty good for the 200-metre

:31:36.:31:41.

runner is at least. No surprise that Ahoure gets out hard, a good starter

:31:42.:31:45.

and running a good bend. Lacking a little bit into the home straight.

:31:46.:31:52.

As you said, Emanuel was close, watch this... I would love to Ahoure

:31:53.:31:59.

but you get the feeling that in the last five metres, Emanuel tightened

:32:00.:32:02.

up a little bit, Ahoure did not lean much. Not much in it, 100th of a

:32:03.:32:05.

second. There you go. Olympic silver-medallist Luvo

:32:06.:32:23.

Manyonga has already jumped over eight metres .604 times this year,

:32:24.:32:32.

he set a Diamond League records and he's 11th on the all-time list, the

:32:33.:32:36.

men's long jump world record does not change hands very often but if

:32:37.:32:41.

anyone can challenge the 26-year-old mark of 8.95, Luvo Manyonga could be

:32:42.:32:46.

the man. Rigadin de Beauchene a first look at one of the big stars

:32:47.:32:50.

of the meeting and world athletics at the moment, Luvo Manyonga of

:32:51.:32:57.

South Africa. Beautiful running action, already off to a cracking

:32:58.:33:02.

start, everyone else struggling to get over eight metres and he puts

:33:03.:33:07.

one out there early on, incredible story, world junior champion and his

:33:08.:33:11.

life started to unravel. Drug addiction resulting in him failing a

:33:12.:33:17.

drug test, 18 month ban and taken a while to get his life back in order

:33:18.:33:22.

but goodness me what a talent and he is fulfilling it now. The wind 3.3

:33:23.:33:31.

so it's picking up, swirling all the time.

:33:32.:33:37.

Was the leader, going out to a good effort as well, Samaai. He was

:33:38.:33:49.

following his team-mates, I The Long Jump already hotting up.

:33:50.:34:19.

Moves him into second place. Great line up for the men's 110 metre

:34:20.:34:25.

hurdles. Andrew Pozzi of Great Britain, good performance, decent

:34:26.:34:30.

performance in Rome. Orlando Ortega was second on that night. The

:34:31.:34:41.

Olympics over medallist. Sergey Shubenkov felt that Andrew Pozzi

:34:42.:34:44.

twitched and did not get a good start himself but still finished

:34:45.:34:49.

third, then we have got Manga of France.

:34:50.:35:03.

The wind might be helping slightly, but more of the left shoulder as you

:35:04.:35:10.

look, the men's 110 metres hurdles. False start. Looked pretty even to

:35:11.:35:25.

me. Just waiting for it to come up, it looks like Andrew Pozzo. --

:35:26.:35:29.

Andrew Pozzi disqualified, a massive

:35:30.:35:41.

disappointment for him, he has never raced here in Stockholm and he will

:35:42.:35:50.

not be racing tonight. That leaves the way clear a little bit for

:35:51.:35:51.

Ortega. Finally away safely, Ortega stayed

:35:52.:36:06.

in the blocks, Shubenkov started better, Brathwaite running his own

:36:07.:36:11.

race, Shubenkov starting well, Ortega having to fight, that is

:36:12.:36:16.

close, Shubenkov might have hung on. Very tight on the line. Looking at

:36:17.:36:20.

each other and then up at the screen. Very close, Shubenkov

:36:21.:36:27.

definitely with leading most of the race, Ortega came back and came off

:36:28.:36:31.

the last hurdle well and may have snatched it. It's been given to him

:36:32.:36:39.

by 100th of a second, the Olympic silver-medallist. I said he would

:36:40.:36:43.

have to snatch it and that's exactly what he did. I suspect the

:36:44.:36:50.

difference was into the thousands between the two of them. Given the

:36:51.:36:59.

histrionics of the start, he snatched win for Ortega. Yes, I

:37:00.:37:03.

thought he had got it on the depth but all credit to Shubenkov who has

:37:04.:37:07.

had such a delayed start to his season. Does everything he can but

:37:08.:37:11.

Ortega very quick over the final barrier. Still down but look at the

:37:12.:37:26.

run in, gets the better lean in. That for Ortega very encouraging

:37:27.:37:30.

indeed, he's in such good form, will probably go to London at favourite

:37:31.:37:40.

at this rate. The bar are now at 1.94, the Polish world indoor high

:37:41.:37:48.

jump champion two years ago. Seasons best of 1.96 service will test tar,

:37:49.:37:55.

a 1.99 jump in her life, that was 2013, her personal best, that is

:37:56.:38:00.

beautiful, lovely clearance and she knows it. If she can watch the

:38:01.:38:06.

replay and fire up, psychologically demanding but that will give her a

:38:07.:38:10.

massive boost she was well over that. Nice, maintains her perfect

:38:11.:38:24.

card, shares the lead at the moment with Skoog of Sweden. You she is,

:38:25.:38:28.

this is her first attempt at 1.9 four. She also has a perfect card up

:38:29.:38:35.

to this point, she came in at 1.80 and cleared it first-time.

:38:36.:38:50.

That's nice to, yes. I don't know if they have got the wind behind them,

:38:51.:39:00.

I think they have. Down the middle of the stadium. Skoog over 1.94

:39:01.:39:13.

cannot hold back the tears, it equals her personal best set in Rio

:39:14.:39:17.

last year. No wonder she's crying with joy. She was seventh in Rio.

:39:18.:39:25.

1.86 was all she managed a few days ago. 1.85 in Rio. Where has she

:39:26.:39:37.

found that form? Lasitskene, authorised mutual athlete, that

:39:38.:39:44.

means she is Russian. World champion from Beijing. Total weight

:39:45.:39:49.

dominating the scene at the moment, this is her third Diamond League

:39:50.:39:56.

high jump competition, winning in Eugene and Rome. She maintains her

:39:57.:40:05.

perfect card, first-time clearance. Three athletes over first time. The

:40:06.:40:11.

men's 1500 metres the next race on the track, containing several men

:40:12.:40:20.

looking for a good mid-season form. None of them have really hit the

:40:21.:40:26.

straps yet this year. The third fastest man in history, Kiprop.

:40:27.:40:39.

Three times world champion also the Olympic champion in Beijing 2008,

:40:40.:40:44.

only third in the Kenyan Championships last weekend 's. The

:40:45.:40:49.

world number one, what a talent the Bahraini inside got. 3.31

:40:50.:41:04.

won the Kenyan Championships last weekend in Nairobi, tactical race.

:41:05.:41:18.

Good field in the men's 1500 metres, heading off down the back straight.

:41:19.:41:26.

As wand, so often Kiprop in the slowest away, moves around the

:41:27.:41:32.

outside. Mikhou it will be fascinating to see him go. The world

:41:33.:41:42.

number one into fourth place as we looked at them now. Looks on the

:41:43.:41:57.

quicker side, the meeting record 3.29. This is interesting, Mikhou,

:41:58.:42:03.

he absolutely destroyed the field in the last 300 metres off a fast pace

:42:04.:42:09.

against Kiprop who by his own admission, not fully fit, said he

:42:10.:42:13.

needed to lose weight, I think he meant he needed a haircut, not

:42:14.:42:17.

losing weight. Says he's coming back into form but I am 70-80% which is

:42:18.:42:24.

all I need for the trials. Interesting to see if he will give

:42:25.:42:28.

Mikhou something to think about, the Bahraini and, formerly Moroccan.

:42:29.:42:53.

Tough call for a youngster like that to be thrown into the deep end,

:42:54.:43:02.

going through a two laps to run. The pacemakers leading them around,

:43:03.:43:07.

still in third place, with Mikhou the world number one, the mystery

:43:08.:43:11.

man, I had hardly heard of him prior to this year in fourth place.

:43:12.:43:17.

Interesting to see now in this middle section of the race what

:43:18.:43:21.

Kiprop although, will he move up towards the big names? Having a jog

:43:22.:43:30.

around this morning, may well be that is helping, not in great form

:43:31.:43:34.

himself but as the pacemakers start to falter you want somebody out

:43:35.:43:38.

there or he has found himself a leading. Mikhou gathering, Cheruiyot

:43:39.:43:47.

will always be dangerous and he's in with a chance. Without Kiprop, needs

:43:48.:43:54.

to get closer to Mikhou, Mikhou is very fast. Mikhou had a glance over

:43:55.:44:10.

his shoulder, this close bunch. Now the big kick goes and vicious going

:44:11.:44:19.

from Cheruiyot. Mikhou chasing hard, Cheruiyot grabbed a couple of metres

:44:20.:44:24.

and Mikhou was slow to respond, the Bahraini in and world number one,

:44:25.:44:31.

Kiprop looks beaten unless he can find some special legs, Cheruiyot,

:44:32.:44:42.

has the Bahraini got the speed, Cheruiyot continues to kick hard,

:44:43.:44:45.

driving hard with the arms and pulling away from the fastest man in

:44:46.:44:49.

the world this year, it's a big victory, the time is a world best

:44:50.:44:58.

for this year, 54.39, so much of it down to Cheruiyot blasting away from

:44:59.:45:05.

the grip with about 270 metres never got back on terms. Just 21 years

:45:06.:45:12.

old, won the Kenyan national championship in Nairobi last week

:45:13.:45:18.

which was an indication there was something special and he produces a

:45:19.:45:23.

world leading win. Big names behind him. He's a huge talent, has not

:45:24.:45:30.

always judged his effort well in races. I have seen him running in

:45:31.:45:34.

the relay championships and maybe not doing quite as well but other

:45:35.:45:37.

occasions you see the talent he has got. Kiprop knew it, beaten by him

:45:38.:45:44.

in the Kenyan Championships, the Kenyan trials will be interesting

:45:45.:45:48.

but this is something different, he attacked it with 300 metres to go

:45:49.:45:53.

and that is what took Mikhou by surprise, you cannot say he did not

:45:54.:45:57.

run well, fast time in second place but that was all about Cheruiyot.

:45:58.:46:03.

The surge down the backstreet was so extreme, you would understand if it

:46:04.:46:10.

was a 3.35 race, but 3.30, winning it for Cheruiyot, Mikhou in second

:46:11.:46:16.

place. And the seasons best from the Ethiopian in third. Progress for

:46:17.:46:21.

Kiprop hand angry. When the gloves come off and she

:46:22.:46:31.

gives it full power she blasts over it, look at that. The arrogance on

:46:32.:46:38.

the face, that's required when you need to be on top in this event,

:46:39.:46:41.

mentally. No celebration. It's all done with a matter-of-fact

:46:42.:46:48.

demeanour. Manyonga... Eight 36, both of those

:46:49.:47:07.

will win. Bizarrely, somewhat, he has had two strongest gusts of wind

:47:08.:47:12.

in those rounds, and he ran through on his third round. This is his

:47:13.:47:17.

fourth round jump. Another big effort, he is making eight metres.

:47:18.:47:23.

Looking easy indeed. His last six or eight years on the global scene, the

:47:24.:47:29.

long jump has not gone through the main scene. Greg Rutherford has

:47:30.:47:35.

jumped with enormous consistency to become the Olympic world European

:47:36.:47:38.

and Commonwealth champion, but Manyonga may well be the future of

:47:39.:47:43.

this discipline. 8.33 in round four. Still does not have much of a gap

:47:44.:47:50.

over his compatriot who jumped 8.29 in the second round, Samaai. The

:47:51.:47:57.

world indoor champion back in 2014, Licwinko. She seems to fly over it,

:47:58.:48:02.

really. A good clearance for her. That puts her into second place.

:48:03.:48:08.

Third time clearance of 1.97, not looking like she would be able to do

:48:09.:48:12.

it. She should have checked, going in. But, she is clear. As she has

:48:13.:48:17.

been all year, Lasitskene looking way better than everyone else. Here,

:48:18.:48:26.

you have Juska. On the long jump, two South AfricanLaw doing well.

:48:27.:48:32.

That is better from him. Juska around eight metres, a

:48:33.:48:43.

silver-medallist back in 2015. Very tall. Finishes that well. Good on

:48:44.:48:47.

the board. Not as quick as a couple of the others on the runway. He has

:48:48.:48:55.

two jumped 8.2 nine. Eight metres nine centimetres, continuing his

:48:56.:48:58.

good form moving him into third place behind Manyonga and Samaai. On

:48:59.:49:09.

the BBC sport website, you can find inspirational stories from people

:49:22.:49:34.

active! We go straight from the field to the

:49:35.:49:40.

track. All eyes here are on De Grasse in this 100 metres. The

:49:41.:49:48.

Olympic silver-medallist at 200. His aim is to be too same boat before he

:49:49.:49:52.

retires, he better hurry up, a couple of months in which to do it.

:49:53.:49:58.

Bold retires to this to season to is to how to and in in four you have De

:49:59.:50:04.

Grasse. Away they go, De Grasse leading, a

:50:05.:50:14.

marginally good through with her. Look at the time, 9.70, the win plus

:50:15.:50:31.

48. A monstrous gale behind them.

:50:32.:50:39.

That does not bounce off sufficiently, the fact that the wind

:50:40.:50:43.

was pretty much a hurricane behind the Canadian. De Grasse, what a

:50:44.:50:50.

shame that the wind was so strong. Plus two, we would have seen them go

:50:51.:50:57.

a long way under ten seconds. A bit of fun to move your legs back

:50:58.:51:00.

quickly but the wind makes it academic. It really picked up as

:51:01.:51:05.

they went into their set position, you felt a strong gust, he finished

:51:06.:51:10.

strongly, Meite held him to 80 metres. He carried on strong to the

:51:11.:51:15.

finish. He will be happy. He is in decent form. He does not need to be

:51:16.:51:20.

flying out. Winning races is important. He won the other day, he

:51:21.:51:25.

has won again here. He probably had a strong wind on his back, not too

:51:26.:51:36.

excited as he crossed the line. A clear win, importantly, in the end.

:51:37.:51:38.

Shields had to run the race to get into the final and finished in

:51:39.:51:46.

third. 8.20 in that round for Manyonga. The perfect card so far

:51:47.:51:54.

for the Russian competitor... Yes! Beautiful, really fluid. No jerks,

:51:55.:51:59.

not power -based, a lot of speed, and a good power to eight ratio,

:52:00.:52:06.

generating enormous speed. The strength comes in converting that

:52:07.:52:17.

horizontal position. Finishing in the next position, Licwinko.

:52:18.:52:28.

Manyonga in the men's long jump. This is the concluding jump of the

:52:29.:52:39.

contest, he has won it. Not a particularly... Ooh, I don't know.

:52:40.:52:44.

As he hurt himself? That was a big effort. It didn't look far behind

:52:45.:52:49.

the superimpose line in the sand at 8.36, it might have been an 8.30

:52:50.:52:57.

job. As the South African tweet something? He always lands... Watch

:52:58.:53:03.

this. -- tweaked something. He is always heading for something like

:53:04.:53:07.

that happening. He is always twisting. He always lands awkwardly.

:53:08.:53:15.

This is the top long jumper in the world, jumping further than anyone

:53:16.:53:20.

has for years. Let's hope he hasn't injured himself, it would be a shame

:53:21.:53:23.

if he was not to be at London. Hopefully he is OK. Onto the last

:53:24.:53:32.

track event. This will be the women's 800 metres, looking for a

:53:33.:53:36.

bit of local interest in terms of Lovisa Lindh, who ran very well in

:53:37.:53:44.

Oslo the other night, and Lynsey Sharp is improving. Here is Lovisa

:53:45.:53:50.

Lindh. A big cheer, fast improving young athlete, the Olympic

:53:51.:53:57.

silver-medallist world indoor champion, Niyonsaba, she is in lane

:53:58.:54:06.

six, and sharing lane six with the Cuban Almanza. Again, a couple of

:54:07.:54:16.

the numbers are blowing over, the wind is playing havoc with the

:54:17.:54:21.

afternoon's athletics. Gust paw all the time, in the back, they are

:54:22.:54:25.

getting some shelter, murder is struggling to get to the front, she

:54:26.:54:31.

seems to be managing OK, pretty experienced at this now, you have

:54:32.:54:39.

Niyonsaba, wearing her arm sleeves. Jenny Meadows takes them through at

:54:40.:54:52.

around 28 or so, which is OK. Almanza leaving quickly at the

:54:53.:54:56.

start. No Caster Semenya, but Niyonsaba is a difficult athlete to

:54:57.:55:02.

beat. I do fancy Melissa Bishop, she has been very determined, the

:55:03.:55:06.

28-year-old Canadian, to get among the big three who took the medals in

:55:07.:55:20.

embryo. -- who took the medals in Rio. They are all lining up, Lynsey

:55:21.:55:27.

Sharp makes a move down the back straight, watch out for Buchel,

:55:28.:55:33.

finishing quickly. Niyonsaba, to be shot at, they are all queueing up at

:55:34.:55:37.

the moment. Melissa Bishop looking for room, trying to squeeze Almanza.

:55:38.:55:42.

They are slowing down, giving the others a chance, Buchel in the back

:55:43.:55:48.

of Hinriksdottir. About Lynsey Sharp comes out on the outside, the Swede

:55:49.:55:55.

is moving into third. The Olympic silver-medallist, Almanza, Lovisa

:55:56.:55:57.

Lindh trying to find something here. They are all struggling. Buchel will

:55:58.:56:02.

finish quickly. But Niyonsaba getting daylight between her and the

:56:03.:56:06.

others, Lovisa Lindh is trying to chase her down. Not going to get

:56:07.:56:11.

there, Niyonsaba will won it. Lovisa Lindh in second, Bishop rallied and

:56:12.:56:20.

finished quickly. They were trying to get Lovisa Lindh into first

:56:21.:56:26.

position. Trying to will her towards a new Swedish record but not the

:56:27.:56:31.

case. She will have missed that, the winner was Niyonsaba in 1:59.1. They

:56:32.:56:38.

were all struggling really. I know that it is windy and it is tough,

:56:39.:56:42.

but Niyonsaba was stronger than everyone else. You are right, that

:56:43.:56:46.

was the problem, it was a second and a half too quick. The second lap,

:56:47.:56:52.

wait for it, 62.30 one. Niyonsaba was not in the lead at 400, not a

:56:53.:57:00.

good differential, you want about two seconds. Niyonsaba, a smile or a
