-It goes back to when I was eight.

-I played rugby against my brother.

-I joined the team in Nant Conwy.

-and Wales squads.

-Is there more of a structure

-I spend a lot of time in this car

-and the mileage is clocking up.

-I love the game.

-I love training, playing,

-coaching and making new friends.

-There's nothing better than

-putting on the red shirt of Wales.

-That's why I do it.

-It's tiring doing all this driving

-left, right and centre across Wales.

-It'll be worth it when I look back.

-Welsh pool in the World Cup Finals?

-In every World Cup I've played we've

-been matched up with New Zealand.

-Getting them again this time

-is daunting.

-Ireland beat New Zealand

-in the last women's World Cup...

-..and we've beaten Ireland

-since then.

-Canada are also

-one of the top women's teams.

-Hong Kong are a new team.

-We can't underestimate anyone.

-Another trip to Caernarfon is done.

-What kind of season

-..and how much does Elen

-have left in her tank?

-I've played for them for two years.

-I used to play

-for Waterloo, Liverpool.

-I wanted to play in Wales.

-We're second in the league

-behind Swansea.

-It's only our second season in the

-Premiership so second is excellent.

-We're battling with Pontyclun

-and Whitland for second place.

-We're still in the cup.

-I'll just keep going.

-I've been playing since I was 16.

-It's a lot of travelling

-and being away from home.

-I don't have much time left.

-I'm just determined to make

-the squad for the World Cup.

-She is indeed and we're big mates.

-Seeing all the preparation work

-are countless hours we don't see.

-You have to do some juggling.

-It's difficult

-balancing it with work commitments.

-It's an honour playing for Wales.

-in Ireland this summer.

-It's quite a challenge.

-It is quite a pool.

-New Zealand

-and Canada are very good.

-In the men's game,

-Canada aren't such a challenge.

-In the women's game,

-they are third seeds.

-They were runner's up in 2014.

-It's a huge challenge in August.

-We are ready as a squad.

-How have Canada risen so high?

-Do they have a different

-pattern of preparation to you?

-They have a very strong sevens side.

-The women are professional.

-Playing the best will be quite an

-experience and we are ready for it.

-It starts in August.

-We have to remember that Wales...

-..will compete in Sevens

-in the Commonwealth Games.

-in the World series events?

-It allows women the opportunity

-to be fully professional.

-I hope that will arrive

-growing having been in the Olympics.

-How do the women prepare?

-We all work full time.

-I'm a lecturer for the Welsh

-language section for Cardiff Met.

-It takes a while to make sure I'm

-getting all the training done right.

-There's a lot of travelling for

-the other girls to get to Cardiff.

-It's an honour

-and we enjoy every minute.

-I can't wait for the World Cup

-and Commonwealth Games.

-These are Merched Maldwyn.

-Maldwyn Harriers has been going

-for many years...

-..but the Ladies set up about 2008.

-Three of us decided

-we were going to go out for a run.

-It's slowly built from there.

-I started running

-about seven years ago.

-I spotted the running club, Maldwyn

-Harriers, in the local newspaper.

-It was the Walk to Run course.

-I had never run before

-so I decided to do it.

-By the tenth week, I could run

-three miles without stopping.

-That was fantastic.

-That's how I started.

-When we set up,

-it was safety in numbers.

-Ladies didn't want to run on

-their own, especially in the dark.

-They felt comfortable

-running in a group.

-We'd always give them a route

-so they knew where they were going.

-We had a base here to run from

-and to come back. It was good.

-After two years, I went on a course

-to become a leader.

-I wanted to give something back

-to the club.

-They had helped me to start running.

-I wanted to do the same

-for other women.

-We started off with three leaders.

-We thought we could

-have three groups.

-We've been building up our numbers.

-There are 16 or 17 leaders now.

-I love taking the new women...

-..and seeing them develop from one

-week to the next, just like I did.

-And then to see them

-having success...

-..and seeing their faces

-in the tenth week...

-..when they realise they've done it.

-On a good night on a Wednesday,

-we can have 45 to 50 ladies.

-The first group

-run six or seven miles.

-The middle group run five miles.

-The final group

-run about four miles.

-Everyone decides what they want

-to do from one week to the next.

-It's important

-that they have fun doing it.

-We don't want to be a serious club.

-We want to go out to have fun.

-I enjoy that everyone makes friends

-and meet all types of women.

-I've made a lot of new friends.

-I would never have met them

-if it wasn't for Maldwyn Harriers.

-I started two years ago because

-I'd just had my third child.

-I started the Walk to Run

-which helped build up my fitness.

-It went from there really.

-I went through the whole ten weeks

-of Walk to Run...

-..thinking I would never

-be able to do it or keep up with it.

-Now I run with the fastest group

-at the top.

-There's always a bit of competition,

-especially in the top group.

-More on their way back from the run.

-Some compete with each other to get

-back to the Sports Centre first.

-It's a nice rivalry.

-It's good competition really.

-Everyone supports everybody.
