Hello and welcome to the second instalment of Darts Extra. The late

:00:34.:00:38.

night review of some of the day's best action here at the BDO World

:00:39.:00:43.

Championship. We're starting in the first match with Gary Robson in the

:00:44.:00:49.

13th year here at Lakeside. Would it be unlucky for him against Ron

:00:50.:00:54.

Mulencamp. Your commentary team now. He's already upped the oche and

:00:55.:01:08.

gone. I think he's rushing it a bit there, don't you? Well, he's playing

:01:09.:01:13.

much more quickly than he was when he first came to the oche in the

:01:14.:01:18.

first couple of legs. Understandable that it would play on his mind.

:01:19.:01:23.

Eight successive darts at doubles missed, which would have given him

:01:24.:01:27.

the first set. Of course, all he's got to do here is hold and he has

:01:28.:01:29.

the first set anyway. Yes, 2-2. It's the sets that count.

:01:30.:01:53.

Just the advantage of the throw there.

:01:54.:02:01.

Rob is going to be shook here. Oh, yes, what a difference to the leg

:02:02.:02:15.

that makes. No answer. 143 for Meulenkamp for the first set. Treble

:02:16.:02:29.

20. Treble 17. Single 2 instead. Was that aim in there. He's smiling away

:02:30.:02:35.

there. Trying to coax him to move it for him. Putting to the treble.

:02:36.:02:46.

Still chances in on 246. 16 double top if he wants. It's

:02:47.:02:52.

double top. That's below. So, chances here.

:02:53.:03:08.

Treble 20. Can't finish now. Double 10. For the first set. 10-set

:03:09.:03:23.

darts so far. And the first set goes to Ron

:03:24.:03:38.

Meulenkamp. That's the first building block for

:03:39.:03:52.

the Dutchman who failed to take a single set on his previous

:03:53.:03:56.

appearance on the Lakeside stage when he lost to Gary Stone a couple

:03:57.:04:02.

of years ago. And look at this - the averages. Exactly the same prior to

:04:03.:04:08.

this visit to the board. It's unbelievable, that! Of course, this

:04:09.:04:17.

game is... He wasn't expecting it. Expecting to really go to town, but

:04:18.:04:23.

Meulenkamp - give him credit. He's all in the zone.

:04:24.:04:34.

I'd like to see this one go all the way. I think there's not long

:04:35.:04:40.

looking at the scoreline there. It's been like that all the way through!

:04:41.:04:48.

The first two darts - one either side of the bed. Massive gap for him

:04:49.:04:57.

to hit in the middle, which he obliged.

:04:58.:05:16.

Well, he had the darts in that leg, Robbo!

:05:17.:05:39.

No-one has been able to rob the darts at the moment. Batman and

:05:40.:05:46.

Robbo here at the Lakeside this afternoon.

:05:47.:05:50.

I'll give you the laugh! I think you're in the minority. All six legs

:05:51.:06:03.

so far have gone with the darts. Yeah, just dropping short at the

:06:04.:06:08.

moment there, getting over the wire at the bottom. If you notice how he

:06:09.:06:16.

pulls his hand downwards. Straight through. Makes a divinchs! And this

:06:17.:06:20.

is the difference. -- difference. Crucial treble with the last dart

:06:21.:06:41.

but this is a chance here for Gary. Didn't get it that first start

:06:42.:06:50.

again. Just dropping a shade low. Two treble 20s. Robbo is coming back

:06:51.:06:58.

for 6. And what happens with that dart? Robbo is in.

:06:59.:07:05.

Oh, he's missed it, that was 18. That would have given him the

:07:06.:07:11.

finish, double 16. Looking at the bull or the 19s here.

:07:12.:07:20.

Chose the southerly route. But missed the single 19, as you can

:07:21.:07:26.

see. He got a 3. The treble 20 here will leave him double 16.

:07:27.:07:33.

He's missed that as well. So Robert will be back. Three darts at double

:07:34.:07:43.

16. Take a leg against the throw. And a 2-0 lead in this. Can't afford

:07:44.:07:50.

to miss this finish now. Trailing by one leg.

:07:51.:07:55.

Double 8, he sneaks it in around the corner. There they go - the crowd

:07:56.:08:02.

applaud. So Gary with the break. Still a set

:08:03.:08:17.

that you would expect him to win. He started with the darts.

:08:18.:08:23.

Meulenkamp's biggest win came when he was a 17-year-old. He won the

:08:24.:08:28.

French Open back in 2006 and that remains his only ranking title. He

:08:29.:08:37.

only looks 16 at the moment. He really has a baby face, what we

:08:38.:08:42.

call, anyway. I don't know what they call it in Holland! Chubby!

:08:43.:08:48.

Yeah, that's blocked the bed. Done the right thing and gone for 19s.

:08:49.:09:01.

But Robbo in the driving seat in this set to get one each in the

:09:02.:09:07.

sets. Got some good entertainment over the

:09:08.:09:22.

weekend. Some fantastic games. More seeds out than that of a garden

:09:23.:09:25.

centre. Well, elg needs this to save the

:09:26.:09:31.

second set. Look at 20s now. Going for two

:09:32.:10:14.

double 20s and got two singles, but he'll be back for a shot at double

:10:15.:10:20.

top if he can't take out 106 here. Good start for him.

:10:21.:10:22.

Double 18. What a finish and what a six for

:10:23.:10:31.

Gary Robson. A third successive leg. His biggest checkout so far and he's

:10:32.:10:37.

tidied up at one set a piece. Deserves all the applause he got

:10:38.:10:40.

there. Yes. This is his 13th BDO World

:10:41.:10:45.

championship: It's 14 lucky for him. Not just that, it's his 12th

:10:46.:11:14.

consecutive year here. When you consider that he hasn't been seeded

:11:15.:11:19.

that many times. So he's had to qualify year hfr after-year. Some

:11:20.:11:24.

achievement. He's a great player, like I said, there's great players

:11:25.:11:29.

from Northumberland. But it's all on the day, you know, how you feel and

:11:30.:11:33.

when you keep going through. But when you've had 12 chances at it,

:11:34.:11:36.

you feel that it is never going to happen. But this year, I think that

:11:37.:11:47.

it really could happen. A great guy. I know him very well. Dumb struck,

:11:48.:11:53.

Holland? Certainly had his moments in the

:11:54.:12:07.

past. Three quarterfinals and then all three of them, he lost in a

:12:08.:12:13.

deciding set. Probably the biggest heartbreak for him in 2011 when he

:12:14.:12:19.

was beaten 5-4 by Martin Philips having led 3-1 in that quarterfinal.

:12:20.:12:27.

Yeah, left-hander Philips. The Welshman! OK, good finish.

:12:28.:12:42.

Well now there Meulenkamp, nervous with that opportunity. Yes, that's

:12:43.:12:54.

good. Double 16 is the shot. Oh, unlucky. So unlucky. A shade

:12:55.:13:02.

away from a 146. 18 leaves double 16 now. And another

:13:03.:13:13.

break and he's taken it. Our legs in a row. Meulenkamp had his chance. So

:13:14.:13:18.

did Robbo and he took it. Oh, this is good. Good for Robbo but

:13:19.:13:30.

I tell you, I think there's a long way to go. That's the double that

:13:31.:13:33.

took it. Again, little to choose between the

:13:34.:13:57.

two players in terms of the scoring. Meulenkamp had his chance. Robbo

:13:58.:14:00.

took it. Same in the first leg. Makes for good entertainment,

:14:01.:14:09.

though, that's the main thing. You can see Gary's accuracy, almost

:14:10.:14:24.

twice that of Meulenkamp. And it's the Lakeside that provides it. All

:14:25.:14:31.

comfortable there, whole families and children. It's magic.

:14:32.:14:49.

He was very talented as a youngster, Ron Meulenkamp. I mentioned that he

:14:50.:14:56.

won the French Open when he was a 17-year-old and also the winner of

:14:57.:14:57.

the junior World Darts Championship. Big man, big finish! Another one of

:14:58.:15:06.

those would help! But it means that Meulenkamp...

:15:07.:15:22.

They'll have to do that. Another one of those. Yes, he wants the bull

:15:23.:15:30.

now. Oh, he's nodding his head in the background there. Oh, Jim! Close

:15:31.:15:38.

to a 16 had. Double 18 there. E. -- a 164 there. And another single dart

:15:39.:15:41.

at a double there. He's hit his last four in a row there. Five legs in a

:15:42.:15:45.

row there for Gary. Ron Meulenkamp had an excellent

:15:46.:15:58.

start but since then, the bomb has begin off. -- gone off. Yes, it's a

:15:59.:16:06.

bouncing bomb, isn't it, this one. So this man here, it's bouncing.

:16:07.:16:23.

Just a reminder that each set is the first to three legs and the match is

:16:24.:16:31.

in this first round stage are the best of five sets. First of three

:16:32.:16:39.

sets. Yeah, very short discipline. Really is!

:16:40.:16:56.

Nice shot there in the Lakeside. Not one for Robbo, though.

:16:57.:17:09.

Pet ra biting her nails. Do you think that's what it was,

:17:10.:17:34.

ultimately? She looked petrified! Trying to remain impassive now. OK,

:17:35.:18:00.

Gary, take it away. Two trebles is wanted. 160 coming in for

:18:01.:18:10.

Meulenkamp. Two treble 20s needed to start with. He can't finish now so

:18:11.:18:17.

Robbo coming back and looking at # 0 to take a 2-set to one lead. Having

:18:18.:18:23.

lost the first set, can he take the lead in the match for the first

:18:24.:18:27.

tile. Double 9. Yes! Great adjustment from

:18:28.:18:37.

Gary Robson. Takes out the 70. Six legs in a row. And he's turning it

:18:38.:18:42.

around. He took off like a Boeing jet! Oh, yes. This is fun, this is

:18:43.:18:54.

great for Robbo. Fourth set, first leg. It's Gary to throw first. Game

:18:55.:19:03.

on! Great finishing from Gary Robson after some nervy darts at doubles in

:19:04.:19:09.

the first set. His finishing has been good and had the 106 checkout

:19:10.:19:12.

in the last leg of the second set. And he hit a double 18 at the time

:19:13.:19:17.

of asking and in that third set, he only had three darts at doubles. Hit

:19:18.:19:22.

them all. Wins the set. Leads 2-1. Yes, and it's been doubles over the

:19:23.:19:30.

years that's let him down. Otherwise I'm sure that there would have been

:19:31.:19:37.

a couple of finals here. 13 years he's been endeavouring to reach the

:19:38.:19:45.

top. Is this his year? That's the big question that's going to be

:19:46.:19:48.

asked now. As you can see, so far, he hasn't

:19:49.:20:07.

lost a single leg when he's had the darts. This one going the same way

:20:08.:20:10.

at the moment. Not on a finish, though. 165! It's

:20:11.:20:14.

not a great shot. Well, putting it closer is Petra

:20:15.:20:29.

rubbing her hands. That will do, that's enough. 43, 122

:20:30.:20:37.

is a good finish. Gone way back. Surely needs two

:20:38.:20:51.

trebles here. Thought about the treble 19.

:20:52.:21:00.

See which way they go. May go for 18s. I don't know how he's gone

:21:01.:21:10.

there in between. It went for treble 18 there.

:21:11.:21:15.

For a seventh successive leg. I think that he when for the bull. He

:21:16.:21:38.

leaves himself 58 but here is a chance for him against the darts.

:21:39.:21:44.

20. Double top, come on, sunshine! Yes. He deserves that, definitely.

:21:45.:21:59.

It's only the second time he's hit a double in 14 attempts. Too good a

:22:00.:22:09.

player to be missing those. What a talent he's got.

:22:10.:22:19.

I've seen that on a police car, but not in the Lakeside.

:22:20.:22:38.

He's losing control at the moment. He's getting through to him, I

:22:39.:22:52.

think. He's got no breathing space. Well, he had the break and an

:22:53.:22:57.

opportunity for Robert to break back straight away. 130 ahead after six

:22:58.:23:00.

darts each. So, it's going ahead. Another treble

:23:01.:23:20.

20 would be welcome. He obliges. And there we are - 143 to finish. 319

:23:21.:23:25.

for Meulenkamp. Oh, dear, it's great this one. Big

:23:26.:23:43.

chance for Robbo. Particularly if he can hit the treble with the third

:23:44.:23:50.

dart. He can't. The pressure on 139 here for Ron Meulenkamp. Hits the

:23:51.:23:59.

treble 19. Options here. Double top from 139.

:24:00.:24:06.

Great darts for Ron Meulenkamp. It's pandemonium here. Oh, what a finish.

:24:07.:24:13.

The young against the old. There it is. What a beauty. OK. Don't say -

:24:14.:24:28.

are you going to let this one loose now, Robbo? Oh, is it getting

:24:29.:24:31.

through to him? Keep your head up high. You've got

:24:32.:24:47.

to give it to him, this youngster. There's been real ebb and flow when

:24:48.:24:51.

you see that which costs you two sets, you'll be suffering from meant

:24:52.:24:56.

and disintegration. Great response in this fourth set from Ron

:24:57.:25:04.

Meulenkamp. There he goes again. And he looks so comfortable.

:25:05.:25:13.

He's back in there, and again. And again, another maximum. What a fight

:25:14.:25:38.

back this is. Applause everywhere. What a match! His going for maximum.

:25:39.:25:53.

Can't finish from here, but it won't matter for now. He'll be back for

:25:54.:25:59.

80. And might even have six darts at 80. And each trebles, the fourth set

:26:00.:26:04.

has gone quickly for him. Yes, they're standing and

:26:05.:26:24.

applauding. Is it going to be another one against the head for

:26:25.:26:27.

Robbo? Well, the laths time that these two

:26:28.:26:46.

met, Ron Meulenkamp was victorious - that was in the semifinals of the

:26:47.:26:51.

Belgian Open back in 2011. The first time that they met a couple of years

:26:52.:26:58.

before that, Gary whitewashed his young Dutch opponent. And this one

:26:59.:27:03.

going right to the wire. The trouble is what's going through Robbo's

:27:04.:27:12.

head? You know, to be in this position before. But he's really

:27:13.:27:24.

come good, is Meulenkamp in the latter stages. You can't take it

:27:25.:27:27.

away from him. The two tonnes. Having a whip around the board

:27:28.:27:39.

there. Is this destined to be Robbo's

:27:40.:27:54.

eighth third round defeat here at the Lakeside? Well, with a score

:27:55.:27:59.

like that, Jim, not at this stage at the moment. 166 is not an out shot.

:28:00.:28:07.

But a couple of three bad darts here... There we go. Can't finish on

:28:08.:28:11.

166. Got over that one. That was a good

:28:12.:28:20.

dart to get over the top of the first one. Oh, and another treble!

:28:21.:28:29.

Left 32 double 16. Against the darts, he's on a 13-darter. So, can

:28:30.:28:44.

he follow up? Ton, ton. 135, 134. Double 16 for a 13-darter and a leg

:28:45.:28:50.

against the darts in the decisive set? No problem at all. The momentum

:28:51.:28:57.

swings back the way of the man. Big Robbo just needs to hold twice. And

:28:58.:29:05.

he's through. He's back in there. Right back in there. He's got a

:29:06.:29:18.

second win. And he's sailing now. This kid is still hanging on and

:29:19.:29:27.

he's back in to it as well. One to relish, this one.

:29:28.:29:32.

Very little to choose between the two men and the scoring. . Oh, it's

:29:33.:29:38.

brilliant. I haven't sat down yet. Just proof of next to nothing

:29:39.:30:10.

between the two men with the averages there. A quarter of a point

:30:11.:30:17.

at this stage of the game. Unbelievable!

:30:18.:30:21.

Oh, dear, this match is really turning this place around. Could

:30:22.:30:34.

have got another throw in there at least. All in the corner. For an

:30:35.:30:47.

instant break back. 16 for double top. Oh, no! Come on Gary. Treble

:30:48.:31:03.

20. Go to 83. Double 16. They're waiting for it and they've got it!

:31:04.:31:09.

They've get it! Oh! What a leg of darts that was. Ashs brilliance from

:31:10.:31:15.

both players. But Robbo takes it. Listen to them going mad. Here we

:31:16.:31:18.

are. And it's not over yet. A massive missed dart at double top

:31:19.:31:33.

for Ron Meulenkamp. And it looked as though he wouldn't be punished and

:31:34.:31:41.

Gary Robson takes out 143. Right, OK, let's set tl down now. He's back

:31:42.:31:49.

again. This is great, Jim, isn't it? He's not going down without a fight.

:31:50.:31:52.

Great character from the young Dutchman, but it is Robbo who is a

:31:53.:31:56.

leg away. It's got the angel of the north on

:31:57.:32:21.

the shirt. I bet she was dancing for delight when that one went in.

:32:22.:32:28.

But still - Ron not giving up the ghost. What is it? Is it 140 and two

:32:29.:32:36.

tonnes in the nine darts. Treble 20. So... He'll be coming

:32:37.:32:54.

back with that. A good score, I hope.

:32:55.:33:00.

The finish for Gary. Can he set up himself a decent finish if he fails

:33:01.:33:10.

to take out 104. And the second dart helps.

:33:11.:33:14.

He might need this to stay alive. Treble 16 will be the next target.

:33:15.:33:26.

Double top for a big 104 to stay in the match. Some way away if the

:33:27.:33:34.

truth be told. He might be on the wrong end of the Shanghai Surprise

:33:35.:33:36.

here. It's Shanghai! Double top for the match! Oh! Yes.

:33:37.:33:53.

At last! He's overcome it! Who do? You do! He does! Absolute

:33:54.:34:00.

brilliance. Oh, Jim. Was that not a match and a half! Magnificent play

:34:01.:34:06.

from Gary Robson. 143 and 120 checkouts in the last two legs.

:34:07.:34:10.

Meulenkamp missed darts to win both of them. And Robbo has punished him

:34:11.:34:17.

and finishing brilliant. The first round hoodoo is over. He's through.

:34:18.:34:23.

Now to a preliminary round that really was the old and the new. Mike

:34:24.:34:26.

Day travelled from New Zealand and in the process, set a record

:34:27.:34:30.

becoming the oldest player to appear here at the Lakeside at the tender

:34:31.:34:35.

age of 58. His opponent, Sam Head, a mere 20 from Hampshire. Let's see

:34:36.:34:38.

who had the upper hand! Mike Day qualified for Lakeside as

:34:39.:35:12.

top-ranked players on the BDO's newly-established New Zealand

:35:13.:35:16.

Regional Rankings Table. He won the 2013 Canterbury Open and he is the

:35:17.:35:20.

fourth New Zealander to appear in the BDO World Championships

:35:21.:35:25.

following Murray Smith, Gordon Allpress and Peter Hunt, who reached

:35:26.:35:31.

the second round in 1995. Yes, I remember Peter very well. Very good

:35:32.:35:39.

player. Peter Hunt in fact came here in 1993 and 1995. And then in 2003

:35:40.:35:44.

and 2004. Four visits and one match won! Right

:35:45.:36:10.

in the corner - how did that get in there?

:36:11.:36:12.

OK! Shanghai! This is for the set. Treble! Or hit the barrel!

:36:13.:36:24.

He'll be back for double top. That's for the set. Sam Head's scoring has

:36:25.:36:36.

deserted him. I think that he's just releasing them too quick. Ever since

:36:37.:36:40.

the 142 connectout in the second leg, he hasn't had a shot at a

:36:41.:36:45.

double. This is for the set. That's a great marker. So is that!

:36:46.:37:05.

That's Mike's wife, Wendy, looking on and praying for a double 10. Yes!

:37:06.:37:13.

She says. Yes! He missed 13 darts at a double in

:37:14.:37:28.

that set did Mike Day, but he won it. That was against the darts.

:37:29.:38:02.

You may recognise Jim Sturgess talking to Bobby and Marie George.

:38:03.:38:15.

Actor in 21 and One Day on the left, also appears with Bobby playing a

:38:16.:38:20.

darts player in a film called London Fields, I'm told. Bobby and Jim have

:38:21.:38:27.

become firm pals. Welcome to the darts, Jim!

:38:28.:38:37.

So many loose darts for this young lad. He wants to settle it down a

:38:38.:38:50.

bit. Rushing away! It's suiting Mike.

:38:51.:39:02.

Well, the story of the match as Mike eyes up 141 was Sam Head started so

:39:03.:39:10.

well. Missed seven darts and a double in the first leg before

:39:11.:39:15.

winning it. Nicked the second with a 142 checkout and since then, he's

:39:16.:39:20.

been nowhere. Treble 20 and bull's-eye.

:39:21.:39:30.

That is four legs in a row for Mike Day. He's not been put under much

:39:31.:39:47.

pressure at the moment, is he, tony? No, it's not his day. It's all going

:39:48.:39:58.

Mike's way. Mind you, he's not as erratic as Sam Head.

:39:59.:40:04.

It will be starting to enjoy himself up there. Good scores here with

:40:05.:40:40.

another 140. So 174, 140. And a 187 after six darts.

:40:41.:40:48.

What a good leg for there for the lad from New Zealand. 87 left. Nine

:40:49.:40:57.

darts thrown. Looking at an 11-dart finish. Let's see if he can do it.

:40:58.:41:08.

He has missed, would you believe it. 16 darts at a double for Mike Day.

:41:09.:41:43.

But he's won five legs in a row. He's getting the odd treble, isn't

:41:44.:42:06.

he, Sam Head? But he needs the ton 40. He needs a 180, you feel, to get

:42:07.:42:11.

hill going. Head could get three in a bed. That might set him off. Well,

:42:12.:42:20.

like I say, 20 years of age. He would be head strong. He was ahead

:42:21.:42:40.

early. This is better. Just the one again in the treble. You see there

:42:41.:42:48.

just two 140 pluses compared to seven from Mike Day. Yes, and Mike

:42:49.:42:51.

is running away with it, isn't he? Not much time now for Sam Head to

:42:52.:43:08.

turn this around if he's going to. 164 is a finish and he will have a

:43:09.:43:14.

crack at it. He's already done 142, remember.

:43:15.:43:19.

OK, he needs the treble. So Mike will be coming back for 76.

:43:20.:43:28.

Here we go - treble 20! Double 8. Oh, where is that gone? Out of the

:43:29.:43:42.

room, maybe! Treble 16 would leave him double 8. Top he needs. Oh, yes!

:43:43.:43:53.

He stopped the rot. He lost five legs in a row. But that was

:43:54.:43:56.

emphatic. I'm warming to Mike here. He's

:43:57.:44:19.

scoring well. He's scoring as well as he needs to, certainly.

:44:20.:44:43.

So now a chance for Mike to get back into the 60s. Nice and steady.

:44:44.:44:57.

That's the way. There's his wife supporting him. He has lost the

:44:58.:45:08.

advantage of throwing first, Sam Head. That's in the treble. As the

:45:09.:45:21.

match has gone on, he's got better. He has got a finish on 116. Treble

:45:22.:45:39.

leaves double 18. Double 18. OK, Sam. Can you do it? He wants double

:45:40.:45:55.

top. Double nine. Yes, he has done it. Well, Mike Day. It's been a long

:45:56.:46:06.

journey but it's looking good at the moment. 2-0 to Mike day. -- Day. 20

:46:07.:46:21.

missed doubles for Mike Day. It hasn't cost him.

:46:22.:46:30.

That might. Neither player will be particularly pleased with their

:46:31.:46:38.

checkout percentages. 23% for Day, 27% for Head. But Mike Day will be

:46:39.:46:47.

pleased with the position he's in, that's for sure. Three legs away

:46:48.:46:53.

from the next round. Keeps getting the treble 20 even with one dart.

:46:54.:47:00.

Glen Durrant awaits in the first round proper. Sam Head in fact lost

:47:01.:47:07.

4-1 to Glenn in the semifinals of the Jersey open in 2012. As far as I

:47:08.:47:16.

know, Mike and Glenn have never previously played. It is a good

:47:17.:47:25.

start. On another day you would have done, not falling for him. Still, he

:47:26.:47:32.

is down to a finish first and he has got six darts from 144 if he wants

:47:33.:47:35.

them. Treble 20. 64 left. No doubt shot

:47:36.:47:59.

for Day. -- no out. Double 16. Double eight. Yes. He

:48:00.:48:21.

needed that. Head moves ahead in the no room for error. 2-0 down in a

:48:22.:48:47.

race to three. He reached the last 16 of the win

:48:48.:49:00.

more world Masters on his television debut, beating Tony Eccles before

:49:01.:49:08.

losing to Phil Mickelson. But his best performance, Sam Head, do date,

:49:09.:49:13.

at a ranking event came in Jersey where he reached the semifinals,

:49:14.:49:17.

losing, as I say, to Glen Durrant. The eventual champion. He is not

:49:18.:49:23.

living up to his standards here tonight.

:49:24.:49:32.

It is all a little bit laboured, isn't it? From both players. Yes. We

:49:33.:49:48.

have got Mike, he's just playing his game, and he's slowly getting there

:49:49.:50:02.

will stop a few tons here and there. He will be on a finish. 107. So no

:50:03.:50:24.

out shot here. a chance. 47. Double 16. And he has got it. .

:50:25.:50:36.

In amongst all this we have seen some pretty tasty finishing. A 142

:50:37.:50:45.

from Sam Head, and a 107 just them from Mike Day. And a good start

:50:46.:50:54.

here, a 140. -- just then. Unlucky, touched the flight and fell onto the

:50:55.:51:00.

floor. He is there again. Lovely darts. He

:51:01.:51:06.

is there again. Another 140. Sam so often has been

:51:07.:51:41.

falling short with his first start. He is on the finish -- first dart.

:51:42.:52:00.

Treble 20. AT scored. 61 left. -- 80 scored. He is on for a 13 dart leg.

:52:01.:52:06.

That is pretty good wherever you come from. What a leg. Double eight

:52:07.:52:23.

is the shot to finish. This might hurt a little bit. He needs tops.

:52:24.:52:33.

Oh, yes. Mike Day had the chance for a 13 dart leg. He misses three darts

:52:34.:52:43.

for a double. He is a very lucky lad. Sam Head responds. He hasn't

:52:44.:52:56.

seen this score yet. 140 from Mike Day. Just a few 140s. 12 of them in

:52:57.:53:04.

fact 11 and a 171. That's the difference between these

:53:05.:53:18.

two players. The heavier scoring from Mike Day. We haven't seen a

:53:19.:53:24.

maximum in this match yet. Haven't really looked like seeing one, have

:53:25.:53:30.

we? I don't know, they have all been around the treble is on Day's

:53:31.:53:42.

throw. Here we go. -- trebles. They must be listening to us. Just in

:53:43.:53:49.

case they are, give us a 9-darter, would you? That would get us going.

:53:50.:54:14.

This is for the set. Treble 20 four double 12. It can't be done. -- for

:54:15.:54:32.

double 12. This is Day -- Mrs Day, very pensive.

:54:33.:54:38.

He needs tops for the set. That could hurt. Let's have a look,

:54:39.:54:50.

Wendy. Must hold here all the match in is

:54:51.:55:04.

here. -- all the match. He hit three trebles, but only one

:55:05.:55:34.

of them was the one that he was aiming for. A chance for Mike Day if

:55:35.:55:51.

he could shove in a 121. Yes, good recovery. Very good recovery.

:55:52.:55:58.

Short again with those first two darts there's the opportunity, get

:55:59.:56:09.

another one. Now he is under pressure.

:56:10.:56:21.

Decent darts. Will they be good enough? There is one. Plenty of

:56:22.:56:42.

room. On a finish, 151. This is for the match. Can't do it now. He got

:56:43.:57:09.

the one off. He wants the bull's-eye for the match. Unlucky. What a

:57:10.:57:22.

moment for Sam Head. 16 for double 16. Eight would have left tops. Oh,

:57:23.:57:30.

no, no. This is Mike Day for the match. 88. Two darts at it and he

:57:31.:57:38.

needs just one -- double eight. The oldest player ever to grace the

:57:39.:57:43.

stage becomes the oldest player ever to win on this stage. Mike Day beats

:57:44.:57:51.

Sam Head and reaches the first round proper. The influx of quality

:57:52.:57:55.

players from the Netherlands this year produced not just one but two

:57:56.:58:00.

all Dutch derbies in the first round for the men's draw. Van Aydin was up

:58:01.:58:02.

against Hough struck. This has been some time in coming.

:58:03.:58:13.

Two Dutch men, close pairs and World Cup partners. Neither have been here

:58:14.:58:17.

for a good while. When they return, they end up playing each other.

:58:18.:58:48.

He reckons that this one is going all the way. Two excellent finishes.

:58:49.:58:55.

Sometimes their scoring leaves a little to be desired, but... Stand

:58:56.:59:07.

by for a long one, folks. Sounds a lit like Hiroaki scoring not the

:59:08.:59:08.

best. But the finishing was deadly. So twhees, the WDF World Cup pairs

:59:09.:59:32.

partners. Van Eijden and Hofstra. Remco Van Eijden from just north of

:59:33.:59:35.

Amsterdam. Van Eijden is the first to a finish.

:59:36.:00:06.

Some way to return, wouldn't it be - 157. It can't be done now.

:00:07.:00:36.

So 100 for Remco to hold this first leg. He needed that treble 19.

:00:37.:00:49.

Double 14! Just the single. So an opening here for Rick Hofstra in the

:00:50.:00:56.

first leg. So, which way is it going to go? Go first? Yes. So nine for

:00:57.:01:02.

double 16. Double 16 for the first leg of the match! And that's what we

:01:03.:01:05.

meant about the finishing. I think they wanted Rick Hofstra to

:01:06.:01:25.

win this game! They've gone quite early, haven't they! Early

:01:26.:01:32.

excitement in the Hofstra camp! There's the support. The shirts in

:01:33.:01:38.

there as well. What will they do if he actually wins the match? That was

:01:39.:01:45.

just the first leg. As the Friesland flag with the red hearts on the blue

:01:46.:01:48.

and white stripes. Remco's last appearance here in 2008

:01:49.:02:27.

when he beat Mario Rober in the first round and then lost to Scott

:02:28.:02:34.

Waites in the second and hasn't been back here since being just the

:02:35.:02:40.

fourth lakeside player to leave it and then come back. And he was

:02:41.:02:47.

saying - yeah, it's far from ideal the fact that he's drawn against his

:02:48.:02:51.

playing partner. They're good mates but they won't be God mates up on

:02:52.:02:56.

that stage. But a chance to break here for Rick. Double 18 he needs!

:02:57.:02:58.

What a good start he's made. 91 in the first leg. Takes out 66

:02:59.:03:09.

with two darts in the second. Everything is going Rick Hofstra's

:03:10.:03:12.

way up to this point. Remco's appearance was back in 2009

:03:13.:03:45.

and he lost to Tony Eccles in the first round. In the preliminaries,

:03:46.:03:51.

he played Anastasia Dobromslova who he beat 5-3.

:03:52.:04:12.

There's Wilma and Naomi, wife and daughter. They're there in the

:04:13.:04:20.

Hofstra camp! Speaking of Dutch darts, of course,

:04:21.:04:45.

Wilma should be Barney Rubble's wife, shouldn't she? Former World

:04:46.:04:52.

Champion Raymond long since departed for the PDC. Hofstra first to a

:04:53.:04:57.

finish here again. He's got up to six darts if he wants

:04:58.:05:04.

them. He'll need them. He's trying to put as much pressure

:05:05.:05:31.

as he can and he's taken a 78 out. But a loose dart will frustrate him.

:05:32.:05:35.

Both of the players on 85 but Rick with the first to have a crack at

:05:36.:05:45.

it. This for the set. Treble 18 leaves double 12 now. So big 20.

:05:46.:05:58.

Remco, you require 85. The bull is one way to go. You went the treble

:05:59.:06:06.

15 way. So 20 for the bull's-eye. Oh, not far away. Set point for Rick

:06:07.:06:13.

Hofstra. He hasn't missed a double so far.

:06:14.:06:22.

Sneaks the third one in! Double top for Rick Hofstra. And the first set

:06:23.:06:33.

in double quick time. The 19 there. Hasn't had anything go his way so

:06:34.:06:35.

far, Remco Van Eijden. Good mates and pairs partners but

:06:36.:06:48.

very different darts. Remco's look almost an eemic. But

:06:49.:07:16.

the other is much more traditional. He's gone for the supermodeling

:07:17.:07:22.

equivalent of the tungsten world, hasn't he!

:07:23.:07:48.

Will be hoping to get through the match without any controversy. When

:07:49.:07:53.

he made his Lakeside debut continue years ago, the first game against

:07:54.:08:00.

Mervyn King. But a match that Mervyn complained that the oche wasn't the

:08:01.:08:04.

correct length and there was a hiatus. And it just got jed out by

:08:05.:08:10.

Tony West by 3-2 the following year. And he's made a fantastic start

:08:11.:08:13.

here. 118 for the fourth leg in a row and

:08:14.:08:33.

his return to Lakeside. Double 19 he needs.

:08:34.:08:45.

I think we know what that meant. Who do you think wears the troulsers in

:08:46.:08:53.

the Hofstra household? Yeah, I'm going for Wilma as well.

:08:54.:09:06.

The finishing has been brilliant so far. Wilma just took a moment to

:09:07.:09:18.

enjoy the double 19 and then she was straight back telling him what to

:09:19.:09:20.

do. Well, whatever she said is working.

:09:21.:09:37.

Won the first set against the darts, a hold from 118. And the first leg

:09:38.:09:53.

of this second set. Can he be first to a finish here?

:09:54.:10:20.

Rick, you require 161. That's a very deliberate style. Two decent

:10:21.:10:27.

checkouts already. The highest of the week so far if he gets it. Not

:10:28.:10:30.

to be this time. A chance for Remco to win his first

:10:31.:10:43.

leg. Outside chance, though, you have to say. Because he only had two

:10:44.:10:49.

darts and a double so far. Treble would have left double nine but he

:10:50.:10:54.

needs the bull. Oh, unlucky! Unlucky. And missed the bull in the

:10:55.:11:00.

third leg of the set and missed it again. And another chance for

:11:01.:11:07.

Hofstra. 16 for double 16. So double 16 there. He's just not missing it.

:11:08.:11:13.

Brilliant finishing from Rick Hofstra. He's won all five legs so

:11:14.:11:19.

far. And if he holds here, he's taken a 2-set to 0 lead.

:11:20.:11:35.

Remco hasn't had many darts at a double but the three that he had, he

:11:36.:11:40.

missed. Look at that from Rick Hofstra. Five out of seven. We knew

:11:41.:11:46.

that he was a good finisher but that's better than good. That's

:11:47.:11:54.

exceptional. And he face an unseeded opponent in round two if he gets

:11:55.:11:59.

through. That's Martin Atkins who plays the winner of this one.

:12:00.:12:06.

Martin's victory against Jeffrey de Graffe yesterday.

:12:07.:12:44.

It's as close as Remco has come. Four visits to the oche in this leg.

:12:45.:13:01.

Three of them have been a bit loose for Rick and Remco tried to

:13:02.:13:06.

capitalise and tried to lever himself back in to the game. Well,

:13:07.:13:14.

here you've been thinking that even a big 20 leaves a Shanghai, 120.

:13:15.:13:17.

That's alright and a treble would have left him 80. A single one, 139.

:13:18.:13:25.

He's opened the door again. For his good mate, Rick.

:13:26.:13:37.

Could do with a treble. Nicely done! So he hasn't been under pressure

:13:38.:13:46.

with many of the finishes. Here's some pressure! 19 and bull's-eye.

:13:47.:13:58.

That's for the set! And that is quite brilliant from Rick Hofstra. A

:13:59.:14:15.

little mini celebration. Blistering darts here from Rick Hofstra. Six

:14:16.:14:23.

legs played. Six legs won. And all six legs he's had a chance to throw

:14:24.:14:29.

for the double. And he's hit it in that visit. There's only two misses

:14:30.:14:35.

at double top but he hit with the third dart and he had that.

:14:36.:14:48.

Of course, we should have known about this because Jacques did tell

:14:49.:14:56.

us that this was going to be a tight match - nothing between these two.

:14:57.:15:01.

Great start again from Rick Hofstra. He's won six legs in a row.

:15:02.:15:11.

The high scoring tells the story for Rick Hofstra. Everything going his

:15:12.:15:17.

way so far. First leg of the first set he took out at 91. Hit a double

:15:18.:15:25.

18 nervelessly in the second and then double top to win that set

:15:26.:15:29.

without reply. And then in the second set, he had a 118 checkout

:15:30.:15:35.

and a 94. So far he's won all six legs against the number nine seed.

:15:36.:15:47.

Well, the way he's been finishing, you wouldn't have put that past him.

:15:48.:15:55.

Another trouble 18. That would have been nice. But he'll be back for 72.

:15:56.:16:11.

Treble 16 for double 12. That's his preferred route to 12. Oh, simply

:16:12.:16:20.

can't miss, can he! This is stunning darts.

:16:21.:16:27.

Finishing of the highest order from Rick Hofstra.

:16:28.:16:34.

Well, he's never won a match on the Lakeside stage. He's had nine years

:16:35.:16:56.

to think about that and wonder whether his chance will ever come.

:16:57.:17:00.

And boy, is he taking that chance at the moment! He might have a la conic

:17:01.:17:07.

style, but his finishing has been absolutely deadly.

:17:08.:17:20.

Best ever result in a major was reaching a semifinal back in 2003

:17:21.:17:31.

when he lost to Barney. Remco on the other hand had six ranking titles in

:17:32.:17:35.

his career, two of them this year winning the Swiss Open and the

:17:36.:17:40.

Austrian Open in Vienna. And was part of the British Classic as well.

:17:41.:17:45.

But he's being beaten up at the moment.

:17:46.:17:59.

And Remco fails to put himself on a possible finish, so six darts from

:18:00.:18:22.

150. If he needs them. Treble leaves double 18. Double 18 for a 150

:18:23.:18:29.

finish! 132. It's almost a surprise that he missed. Doesn't look as

:18:30.:18:37.

though it's going to be a costly miss, though.

:18:38.:18:41.

Might go for 2. He has done. Double 8, then.

:18:42.:18:54.

Two double tops there! And fell quite a long way short. So off the

:18:55.:19:15.

back of three misses... Normal service is resumed! Eight legs in a

:19:16.:19:24.

row for Rick Hofstra. We in, dy still nagging him! -- Wilma, I'm

:19:25.:19:31.

sorry. Remco needs to find his A game and

:19:32.:19:47.

needs to find it fast. This will be a sensational recovery if he can

:19:48.:19:51.

pull it back from here. Rick only needs this leg. Remco is yet to win

:19:52.:20:00.

a leg. Yeah, they're good mates these two, but this is about as

:20:01.:20:04.

unfriendly a performance from Rick as you could hope to see on the

:20:05.:20:08.

Lakeside stage. Surely he can't beat his mate without losing a leg, can

:20:09.:20:11.

he? Good thinking from Rick Hofstra. And

:20:12.:20:47.

that would be a way to close out nine legs in a row with a 170

:20:48.:20:51.

finish. Off you go, then, Rick. Two treble

:20:52.:21:03.

20s and a bull's-eye. Can you? Unlucky.

:21:04.:21:12.

70 is eminently gettable. So van Eijden needs this 141. Good start.

:21:13.:21:19.

Treble 19. Would have left double 12. A look at treble 10 now. And it

:21:20.:21:25.

went the other way to leave him double 10 but he might not get a

:21:26.:21:31.

shot at it. 70 for Hofstra for the match. Wilma and Naomi there looking

:21:32.:21:41.

on. As daddy needs bull! Oh, he ease got it! It is a whitewash! The Hof

:21:42.:21:51.

has destroyed his World Cup partner, Remco Van Eijden. The number 9 seed

:21:52.:21:56.

demolished. And he'll return to the Netherlands without even winning a

:21:57.:22:00.

single leg and Hofstra has never won on this stage, and he's just

:22:01.:22:03.

produced one of the best performances of his career.

:22:04.:22:07.

Now we turn our attention to the women's world championship and the

:22:08.:22:11.

defending champion was Anastasia Dobromslova. She hadn't been beaten

:22:12.:22:15.

here on the Lakeside stage since 2007. Could Karin Krappen from the

:22:16.:22:20.

Netherlands bring her unstuck right here on the big occasion? Your

:22:21.:22:23.

commentary from Jim Proudfoot and Tony Green.

:22:24.:22:28.

Karin Krappen known as the Dutch dolphin. Everything effectively with

:22:29.:22:35.

the throw up to this point. Yeah, I don't know where the dolphin came

:22:36.:22:41.

from, but like you said, there's a lot of bubbles on her shirt!

:22:42.:22:56.

It's already been a successful weekend for the Dutch female

:22:57.:23:05.

continge vent. Tamara Shaw seeing off Trina a Gulliver in some style

:23:06.:23:08.

on Saturday. Tony Martin, he'll be pleased with

:23:09.:23:32.

that! Tony Anastasia's husband! Seeing them go through the pain over

:23:33.:23:41.

many years. With the present way she's playing. Good player himself,

:23:42.:23:49.

actually, Tony. He's played in the championship.

:23:50.:23:56.

Both players on 160 after 12 darts. Anastasia hasn't been able to take

:23:57.:24:05.

it out which will give Karin an opportunity. And she hit the treble

:24:06.:24:10.

20s when she needs them. Same answer!

:24:11.:24:15.

OK, we know that one! Treble 20. Oh! No, she can't finish. 104 for Karin.

:24:16.:24:36.

Single 3 wasn't what she wanted. Single 20 she wants here. A double

:24:37.:24:53.

top if she comes back. Karin, though, with an opportunity for the

:24:54.:25:00.

first set. 20 leaves double top for the set against the 3-time champion.

:25:01.:25:05.

Oh, problems! Problems! Double top. Oh, ever so near. It's not there. He

:25:06.:25:25.

may not be smiling after this. That's it. It's in.

:25:26.:25:31.

Her husband seemed more pleased than she did.

:25:32.:25:44.

Absolutely delighted! Get in there! And again, he'll be cheering! Oh,

:25:45.:25:56.

dear. Just one out of nine doubles hits for Anastasia. That's the story

:25:57.:26:01.

of the first set. Hit a double 8 in the first leg and has missed seven

:26:02.:26:09.

darts at double since. So difficult to defend, you know. I think it's

:26:10.:26:17.

there. Between a gullet there, at eight titles.

:26:18.:26:52.

It's quiet up there. No high scores! Very nerve-racking.

:26:53.:27:06.

Well, Minnie will be coming shortly. Watch out. Just giving her a ring!

:27:07.:27:14.

Do you know, I'm disappointed. I would have thought that Mighty

:27:15.:27:17.

opinion mouse's superpowers would have extended to telepathy. He

:27:18.:27:23.

wouldn't need to text somebody! Everybody is doing it now. That

:27:24.:27:34.

spoilt my day! 14 for bull's-eye. And she'll be hugely disappointed at

:27:35.:27:39.

the distance with which she missed that. And that's another opportunity

:27:40.:27:45.

perhaps for Karin. Treble 17 for double top again. Not this time!

:27:46.:27:52.

They aren't hitting them doubles! It's maybe not her day. Could it be

:27:53.:28:09.

this young lady's day? Wants double 10. Two darts left. Double 5. I just

:28:10.:28:22.

wonder how crucial that could be. 55 now. Oh dear. One. It appeared once,

:28:23.:28:43.

it is game. It is more exciting than finishing on the 180. At last.

:28:44.:28:57.

Relief for Anastacia, finally hitting a double. A crucial leg. Had

:28:58.:29:11.

Krappen one that, it would have been against the throw. I think she could

:29:12.:29:22.

certainly go to town now. I think it really did help. Good response.

:29:23.:29:48.

That was a good recovery, the last start.

:29:49.:30:02.

She has made her aim better, from the first set. A lovely cover shot.

:30:03.:30:33.

She was 200 behind on the throw. Setting herself up for a return

:30:34.:30:34.

visit, where she will need 64. 16 is is the shot. Now she wants

:30:35.:31:02.

double top. Too hard through the. Coming back for a double top. That

:31:03.:31:11.

is good pressure applied. Double ten. The pressure is telling here.

:31:12.:31:23.

She did not for those against the three-time world champion. 88. Take

:31:24.:31:40.

that. Emphatic punishment. She is two legs up in the second set. She

:31:41.:31:53.

has been let off a little bit here. That is the finish. That is the

:31:54.:32:06.

smile. There he is, we are waiting to see him. The number one seed. The

:32:07.:32:11.

overwhelming favourite with the bookmakers. He is in the top half of

:32:12.:32:24.

the draw. He seems the easier. He won the Masters this year. He never

:32:25.:32:29.

dropped a set. All the way through the tournament. That is the form he

:32:30.:32:34.

is in. Settling down a little. This could

:32:35.:33:04.

be a finish, 170. A top shot for Krappen. The first start off and

:33:05.:33:27.

just falling below the troubles. Being put through the rear. Krappen

:33:28.:33:53.

coming back to 88. To save the set. Still a chance. This to take the

:33:54.:34:09.

set. Trouble 19 leaves double 16, to tie it up at 1-1. I think she must

:34:10.:34:17.

counter. She certainly missed the double. Krappen busts. She knows

:34:18.:34:32.

what she needs now, double term. Just a shade to the left. Look at

:34:33.:34:53.

this. 33. OK, I am sure little is going on, double term. Deciding set.

:34:54.:35:08.

Krappen first. A smile from Anastasia. I think the message was

:35:09.:35:15.

clear. Keep concentrating. She smiled, from Russia with love.

:35:16.:35:30.

A quick change. Like a relay race. Passing it over to the other end.

:35:31.:36:05.

They have had seven legs so far. In six of those, both players have had

:36:06.:36:14.

shots of doubles. The problem is Krappen had in the second set, she

:36:15.:36:20.

had 13 darter doubled in the second set and did not have a single one.

:36:21.:36:26.

Chances to take all three legs, all of them she lost.

:36:27.:36:37.

Katrina knocked out yesterday, at here today. The nine time world

:36:38.:36:54.

champion. I am sure that record will never be beaten. 19, 16, and now the

:36:55.:37:12.

bull. After all those misses, water finish. It has dumbfounded her

:37:13.:37:25.

husband. I do not think she knows what that has come from. The misses

:37:26.:37:41.

are well behind her now. A 123 checkout, and a 134. Anastasia

:37:42.:37:58.

replaying any kind. How is this all come about? It is brilliant. She

:37:59.:38:12.

seems to have sped up, maybe that is why. These are both them. Two 140.

:38:13.:38:26.

87 left. Tewantin 31 remaining of a champion. She takes out an 87, the

:38:27.:38:37.

champion is in real trouble. Two darter double 18, now 199. How

:38:38.:38:48.

costly will be that? No finish, nine is the school. Nine is the score.

:38:49.:39:07.

You cannot miss that. 20, four double top. She needs this. She

:39:08.:39:15.

misses as well. Another chance. Krappen missed the big one last

:39:16.:39:22.

time. Fitted this time, 44. She has put it in the wrong bed. I have been

:39:23.:39:32.

in that position. Here we go. Right in the corner.

:39:33.:39:43.

The smile from her husband. She should have had that one. Verity is.

:39:44.:40:05.

She has got to forget about the last and concentrate now.

:40:06.:40:34.

She had no need to switch there. She could have stayed on the 20. Now the

:40:35.:40:49.

pedigree of the champion coming to the fore.

:40:50.:41:09.

She has been allowed to. A great crowd. They have been here over the

:41:10.:41:29.

last couple of days. The ladies do command respect. 126 is the finish.

:41:30.:41:45.

That is what is coming in. All eyes on the 19 hair. Went for the

:41:46.:42:01.

bull's-eye. Hit the single term, which isn't the worst option. Double

:42:02.:42:12.

top. Double ten now. One more shot at it. Nerves of that. 119 the shot.

:42:13.:42:36.

Treble 20, unlucky. Double ten. That is the one. Deep breaths. She is

:42:37.:42:49.

that, she is happy. It was to break that she needed. Double ten has been

:42:50.:42:56.

kind to her on the past three legs she has won. They have all come with

:42:57.:43:00.

a noble as double ten under pressure. If she holds here, then

:43:01.:43:08.

she is three. She has the darts in this leg. A bit low, she had to get

:43:09.:43:50.

over the top. A chance for Krappen. It is a great job, that lad. A

:43:51.:44:05.

seasoned veteran. He is only 20. I have been there, got the badge. The

:44:06.:44:17.

finishing line in sight for Dobromyslova. Good coverage from

:44:18.:44:26.

Krappen. She has six darts at 141 here. A 41. Krappen need a big score

:44:27.:44:41.

to put pressure on. It does not look as though it will happen. A single

:44:42.:44:47.

known. We will see which way she wants to go. Double 16. Verity is.

:44:48.:45:00.

-- and that it is. The number three seed is through. She is the first to

:45:01.:45:08.

make it through to the second round. Krappen fought valiantly, but to

:45:09.:45:11.

many missed doubles. Dobromyslova makes it through.

:45:12.:45:19.

A 19 Rob Englishwoman had a great opportunity to secure her first

:45:20.:45:24.

place in the quarter-finals. Standing in the way was her opponent

:45:25.:45:25.

from the Netherlands. As it is a her before she came out,

:45:26.:45:45.

are you nervous? She said, no. Just another game. Did you believe her? I

:45:46.:45:55.

had no reason not to. I was watching a practice a few hours ago, and she

:45:56.:45:59.

appeared to be in the zone. She was not talking to anyone, just

:46:00.:46:05.

calmly practising. A lot of hustle and bustle around her. TV people

:46:06.:46:11.

working back and forth. She was just quietly practising. That is how she

:46:12.:46:18.

is. She gets back, does that thing, and that the world go by. This year

:46:19.:46:28.

she has done extremely well. She has won a couple of Jersey tournament.

:46:29.:46:38.

She has been getting to the business and of most tournaments, that is why

:46:39.:46:50.

the runner up in Denmark, runner-up in Germany, semifinals at the

:46:51.:46:56.

Granite city opens, quarter-finals in Belgium, quarter-finals France,

:46:57.:47:05.

semifinals British world Masters. Semifinals of the Sun Parks Masters,

:47:06.:47:10.

what a bad year for only 19. Allah is about to say, she was only 19. I

:47:11.:47:16.

never did any of that. That is why I think she will be a future world

:47:17.:47:20.

champion. Without a doubt, such talent. They were three very good

:47:21.:47:34.

darts. Fallon Sherrock, first to a finish again. She looks to the sky

:47:35.:47:45.

in frustration. A couple of times she has strayed into the one. The

:47:46.:47:56.

bull's-eye perhaps. Double 18, treble four double. A very good leg.

:47:57.:48:04.

She will be feeling better about that. It is funny, on those shots,

:48:05.:48:13.

sometimes you play to be comfortable. I know people would

:48:14.:48:18.

say, if she missed that, she should have gone to the bull, but it is a

:48:19.:48:28.

funny old game. You said it is, looking as Fallon Sherrock, you are

:48:29.:48:31.

looking at a future champion. I am here you, it is about time he

:48:32.:48:35.

wonders. Tell me about it. I am trying. The last couple of years, I

:48:36.:48:43.

have come in as the number one seed. I have never really done myself

:48:44.:48:47.

justice. The one year I got to it, a miscounted. It cost me. My head just

:48:48.:48:55.

went everywhere. I think, oh my god, what did I do? I could not get it

:48:56.:49:00.

out of my head. It was so shorter formats. You have got to live with

:49:01.:49:07.

it and move on. An extraordinary thing that the stage though this to

:49:08.:49:11.

you. Someone is experienced as you are. I wouldn't say cool and

:49:12.:49:23.

experienced. You cannot explain to anyone Howard feels. They have to

:49:24.:49:28.

experience it. There is no stage like this. I have been on every

:49:29.:49:35.

stage possible, and there is none like that. Those many of us who will

:49:36.:49:41.

never experience it can only watch in wonder. It is light jealousy, I

:49:42.:49:47.

would love to. It must be greater that. It is, every blood vessel

:49:48.:49:57.

singles. It brings everything out. For the first time, it can be

:49:58.:50:08.

daunting. I remember my first time, I was like... 193 for Fallon

:50:09.:50:26.

Sherrock. Treble, single, double, on the 20s, to take a lead in the set.

:50:27.:50:34.

There is the treble, this angle, just about will leave double top.

:50:35.:50:43.

Very nearly 120, 138, how about it? No. Good pressure though. Plenty of

:50:44.:51:00.

pressure. The army is tight. You can see it. I know the feeling. -- in

:51:01.:51:16.

the arm is tight. You could see her, as she was aiming at that double

:51:17.:51:20.

ten, and missing low and missing low, just willing her arm to obey

:51:21.:51:27.

her. That is what we do. I do it all the time. You need this leg to stay

:51:28.:51:31.

in it. That is all you are thinking of. You want to stay in it. It is

:51:32.:51:42.

only darts and tennis I can think of, were as long as the match is

:51:43.:51:46.

still alive you have a chance. Definitely. All you have to do is

:51:47.:51:52.

put your opponent under pressure. That makes a difference. You keep

:51:53.:51:56.

them under pressure. If they had the double, brilliant. If you get the

:51:57.:52:08.

chance, he have to take it. A non-combat duel. The momentum is

:52:09.:52:20.

with Fallon Sherrock. 220 points away from the second set. Best-of-3

:52:21.:52:32.

to reach the quarter-finals. I know Fallon Sherrock will never give up,

:52:33.:52:35.

she will battle. She has that make up. The restore some more good

:52:36.:52:40.

ladies out there, young girls, coming through. I think the future

:52:41.:52:48.

looks very good for the ladies. Here we go, single and top. Not quite,

:52:49.:53:00.

but she will be back. Macro one did Ms darts that -- Fallon Sherrock did

:53:01.:53:14.

mess darts. That is a bad pool. She could still have the set. The last

:53:15.:53:31.

darts is the hardest. Definitely. Great last darts. Put the pressure

:53:32.:53:46.

on more. Double 16. That was close. This is a big moment. She needs to

:53:47.:53:53.

hit it. Otherwise she hand the initiative back. Very says. That is

:53:54.:54:10.

what she does. It is what she does. So raises the 19 Rob without

:54:11.:54:16.

composure. On that stage. To miss twice and not throw the last dart

:54:17.:54:22.

away. It is what she always does. She can compose herself and give

:54:23.:54:26.

herself momentum. Then she will go in. Good to see. Definitely. As a

:54:27.:54:39.

said, she is so laid back. It is the most emotion I have seen her with.

:54:40.:54:49.

That is what this stage does to you. She can break the throw here. That

:54:50.:54:56.

will help. She will be three for the match. Certainly, it is Rilana

:54:57.:55:03.

Erades's turn to consider some missed opportunities. That will play

:55:04.:55:16.

on her mind. The first maximum on the stage. Not even a smile to

:55:17.:55:24.

acknowledge it. At this stage, she just looks so cool. Rilana Erades

:55:25.:55:29.

will be thinking about the darts at UMIST. -- the darts she missed. Look

:55:30.:55:45.

at this leg. 48 after 12 darts. Double 16 she needs. 88. See through

:55:46.:55:55.

that last one quite quickly. This is to level the set. She is not

:55:56.:56:07.

far away. Very says. The last couple of legs she has won

:56:08.:56:29.

with her last chance to double. Definitely. She is so unfazed. She

:56:30.:56:44.

is a big danger. You would meet her in the final, of course. Of course.

:56:45.:56:56.

A good solid start to what Fallon Sherrock hopes will be the final leg

:56:57.:57:03.

of the match. She is to ring first. She has opened with 100 and back in

:57:04.:57:11.

the red again. The RAS good girls in the tournament this year. Look at

:57:12.:57:14.

this. 19 years of age, making her Lakeside

:57:15.:57:45.

debut. It is a place in the quarter-finals. She will stay that,

:57:46.:57:55.

she is not under much pressure. Is that one of her foibles? One more

:57:56.:58:04.

leg, job done. She has got plenty of chance to compose herself and to

:58:05.:58:10.

have the double. The single leaves double top of the match. This is for

:58:11.:58:20.

the match. She will be back. , she may be under pressure. -- next time,

:58:21.:58:34.

she may be under pressure. She has not left herself a finish. She does

:58:35.:58:46.

not want to miss. She does not mess. Remember the name, Fallon Sherrock.

:58:47.:58:54.

The 19 -year-old. Turned up at Lakeside to the first time, through

:58:55.:58:57.

to the quarter-finals. Now she smiles. Thank you for your

:58:58.:59:02.

late-night company. That wraps things up. You do not have to wait

:59:03.:59:09.

too long. Join the rest of the gang later on this afternoon. Most other

:59:10.:59:12.

matters will have:
