afternoon highlights from the BDO 2013 World Darts Championships. We

averages and you chastised me. And I think this is the proof. Tony

It is the winner of the end. save 40 is about average for the

checkout. But 43 and he still did not get through. It is the doubles

in every leg. So basically Geert de Vos is solid, and playing to that

standard at every leg? Exactly. If you keep on all the time, you put

pressure on the player. I like the fact that he brings in the Belgian

contingent. My favourite darts fan is the crazy Dutch guy. He is great

to talk to. But once the play starts he goes crazy. Did you ever

have a crazy fan like that? Yes, loads of women, normally! Then you

start at losing your looks! He is the first man from Belgium to play

on the stage. Have you done any exhibitions in Belgium? I used to.

But there are not as many. In Belgium they do have exhibitions.

Tony. You look pretty calm. I could not believe it when you said I had

been knocked out three times. I thought it was more than that!

Happy to beat in the second round. I'm happy about that. How do you

assess the performance? It was a big win. It was not perfect. John

missed a lot of shots. You need a bit of luck sometimes. But practice

is going well today so hopefully I will put in a better performance

tonight. You are a bit of an elder statesmen around this wing. People

ask for advice. Can you remember the first performance on the big

stage? It was against Colin Monk. It was my first time here and I was

very nervous. But I thought it might be the only time I was here.

All my prize money, I spent it in the week. I had a fantastic week.

It was quite an exciting game, going to a final leg decider. Great

memories. You have, long way since then as have your fans. Have you

got the usual army of Stockport crowd descending? They have already

set off. They seem to turn up all the site -- all the time. They were

there on Saturday night on the balcony. It is nice to see when

you're ready to play. Is there ever a time when the sport becomes a

pressure? Because now that all the former champions are knocked out, a

lot of our eyes are focusing on you. People saying, is it finally you're

year? The only thing I can do is go and play my best. I do not worry

about how the crowd of feeling. I tried every year, just as hard.

Hopefully one day it will happen. But it is not the end of the world

if it does not happen. You do not seem bothered about this people's

champion tag? As long as there are enjoying the performance. And they

can see that I do enjoy it most of the time. It is nice to be champion

of something! What about the match against Steve? On the paper you are

the favourite. I preferred it being the underdog. I always seemed to

fight harder. He's playing well at the moment. I watched him last

night in practice. He seems to be in good form. He actually looks a

lot better senses health care. He is an England international, it

will be a tough game. One thing coming across talking to you is

your sheer passion for darts. It does not seem to have waned at all

despite all the years. You still love boats bought? That is why I

started playing. I love playing darts. And I still watch every game

on television. I have got a video library of old games. My first ever

visit down here was in 1987 with Allan Evans. He had a great run

that year. He was a friend of mine. I never dreamt then that all these

years later I would be playing here. They will all be shouting for you

dark. That is a terrible way to do it. So just for basics, Steve is

going to show us. It is all but the follow-through. That is the basic

thing. When you're aiming you need to release it like that. The reason

for that is in theory, every one should be the same for close to the

same. It is all about mechanics. When you are stabbing hit, you have

to do it twice and smoothly. -- We have spent hours together.

be chilling out, doing bits and pieces and just relaxing. What
