COMMENTATOR: What a lovely goal! Absolutely brilliant from Leicester

City. Leicester City looked like a completely different team tonight.

Crisis? What crisis? Good afternoon. This time last week we were talking

about the sacking of Claudio Ranieri 48 hours later, the champions

were looking like We'll be live at Leicester and we

also have all this on the way: The Vardy party has left Jurgen

with a mess to clean up. Against Leicester it was the worst

game we played in the season. We have to deliver, to show a reaction.

Hugo's boss between the sticks, we catch up with Spurs skipper.

It's back to school with Brady and Hendrick.

We'll start with Leicester, who, just days after ditching

Claudio Ranieri, rediscovered the form that made them champions.

This time last year, Leicester were three points clear at the top, now

they are in the bottom three and without a manager. From the word go,

you could see the intensity and passion was there. They tried to

press us high up, so we thought, why not do exactly the same to them?

Given away by Wijnaldum. Jamie Vardy clean through, great chance. You

could see in my celebration, the frustration was getting that out

because I haven't scored enough but hopefully now they will start to

come. We need to help each other. It showed. Drinkwater! What a goal!

Fantastic strike from Danny Drinkwater.

Superb play. What a lovely goal! It's absolutely brilliant from

Leicester City. Emre Can's done well. It's Coutinho. Liverpool are

on the board. Claudio Ranieri's name echoes around the stadium as the

Leicester City fans pay their respects. Leicester City three

points in the ballad, they are out of the bottom three -- in the bag.

The criticism has hurt but maybe they had a bit of extra fire in the

belly because of that. We have been training but it wasn't clicking.

Things haven't been falling for us as it did last year. Luckily tonight

it has clicked together. We'll talk about Liverpool and hear

from Mr Klopp a bit later, but it was very much

Leicester's night. The 11 that was chosen by Craig

Shakespeare, they played the majority of last season. It makes

sense, with the success they had with that formation, everybody seems

to know their jobs. More recently, they haven't. It was a positive

performance. One they should now build on hopefully.

Lots of people have talked about the statistics this week. They have

gone! Here we are. They are back, thank you old girl, thank you for

coming round. LAUGHTER They were running a lot more than we

seen throughout the whole season and in terms of tackles, you can see the

figures speak for themselves. The work rate was there. Leicester have

got to do what the older people called the ugly things well. Do what

you're good at, running round, work hard, have each other's back and

that little sprinkling of quality from Vardy and Mahrez on the odd

occasion and Okazaki, that will rear its head. But get the basics right,

first. Looking back at the game, you saw a lot from Leicester which you

liked. They did all the more Dion said. It looked like a team that had

been let off a lead. Not deliberately, but they've been

confused in their jobs in recent weeks. I've seen them play three at

the back, four at the back, Diamond in midfield. They all knew their

jobs on Monday night. Their old formation. There worried even

thinking about it. Playing with freedom. When you are enjoying

football playing in the position you want and you know your mates are

behind you, talking to the same guy... They played together almost

every game last season. There is a freedom and desire that they showed.

This defendant, Dion is going to stop it, look at that. It's not

great defending in some ways. It shows their intent. There is an

argument from people saying where was this Leicester team in recent

weeks for Ranieri? They haven't consciously tried harder on Monday

night. Your body language changes, your mentality changes. Is it a

release? It is a release. I'm assuming Craig Shakespeare has led

to the lads, play with freedom, give me all you've got, go back to your

old ways and don't worry about where you are on the pitch. Just do your

job. It's like he's lifted the lid off a pressure cooker. What about

Jamie Vardy? He got two of the goals. The sort of things he was

doing right you looked at. Before I even play this clip, you can see

Jamie Vardy buzz my body language. "I Want to score a goal and get into

positions ". He wants to be in behind defences to create chances

for himself. You can see the next one. On his way. Number nine, gone.

He knows Albrighton is going to make his mind up, the midfield players.

Dan played midfield. If a centre forward is going to make a run, you

will try to find him. It is down to the forward. We already knew he was

going to make that run. I don't know if you agree as a striker but

Okazaki frees up Vardy for that space. Agreed. Watch this. Vardy is

in the box. I will pause it at the right moment. Vardy is on the move.

Here he is just here. He's got the run. He wants to score

goals. He's being proactive, not waiting to see what happens but he

just gets in front of Can. He gets a goal through sheer hard work.

Amazing how things have changed. Leicester City are playing at home

today. Leicester are at home

to Hull this afternoon, Vote in full flow in the sunshine.

Let's talk about the future of Leicester. -- your coat is in full

flow. What is the latest on Roy Hodgson potentially taking over? It

is premature and a contingency plan. Craig Shakespeare is in the

spotlight. I met him this morning. He was getting here and he looked

like a man who was really enjoying his job. Well turned out on a

briefcase in hand. He looked as if he was going to do more business

today. If he gets a second win in six days, I think it will be very

difficult for the owners not to give him at least the chance to finish

the season for Leicester. What they do after today, they are going to

Dubai for a four day warm weather break this week. They don't play

next weekend. Their next match is at home to Seville in the Champions

League. As you know, they are only 2-1 down. If Craig Shakespeare could

engineer a result in that game, I think he would certainly get the

job. I also have a new slant on the Ranieri... Different slant on the

Ranieri thing, Dan. My information, which hasn't come from Craig

Shakespeare, I hasten to add, from sources here at Leicester is that

Ranieri was on thin ice for at least six or seven weeks before he was

sacked. The board had heard how confused the dressing room were by

his changes in personnel and in formation. He had gone back to being

the Tinker man. That had something to do, not everything, by the way,

with how his players were underachieving. In a way, if the

board wanted to be sentimental about it, they may have left that decision

a few weeks longer than they otherwise would. Now then,

Shakespeare, Dan, not Craig at the moment but what about the Bard? His

namesake, William. He said four things in his plays that sums up

Leicester's season perfectly. First of all, the Winter of discontent

speaks for itself. Macbeth, off with his head. They were with Ranieri's

in the end. The where the Ides of March. That month starts today. It

can be tricky for football clubs everywhere, never mind Leicester. .

What they are saying here is that the Shakespearean quote they would

like to be repeating at the end of the season is "All 's well that ends

well" was not forget King Lear, King Watson. Well done! Why didn't you

come up with that? Outstanding. I've got to let the master do it. You

have already said that you think he would be a good choice although some

fans say they are unsure about Roy Hodgson. When he worked at Fulham

with myself and at West Brom, he got those clubs punching above their

weight. It would definitely make them well organised again. The

players would suit playing on the break again. It would be a safe

choice. Hull, the house of Mario, a massive game in addition to

Leicester and they played some nice football under the new manager. They

have. We spoke about this. Huddlestone is the captain at the

moment and everything goes through him. He's been unbelievable. I think

Hull have a great chance. Leicester may have turned it around with body

language in terms of players but Hull have a big say in this game. I

tried my best with house of Mary. Let's move on.

As we've seen, a blue Monday for Liverpool,

who now have won just two from 12 in all competitions this year.

So plenty of questions for Juliette Ferrington to ask,

Extremely pleasant on the eye from Liverpool.

Blistering going forward. Perhaps not so hot at the back.

Liverpool will wonder how they let this one slip away.

I would so, how are you, but I'm trying to gauge your mood right now,

how would you sum up your mood right now? First of all, you can ask how

widely because most of the time when nobody expects a real answer. It's

like, you OK? Yes. If you answer, not that good, it's probably

surprising for most people. But I'm more than OK.

It's absolutely brilliant from Leicester City. Finished off by

Vardy. This has not gone according to plan at all from Liverpool's

point of view. Against Leicester, I would -- would say it was the worst

game we played this season unfortunately. But I'm 49, turning

50 this year, and meanwhile I'm really not good in losing. But it's

a situation. We have to take it. We have to learn off it and we have to

change it, obviously. But the whole thing is, and was, always a project

with a real target. Be as quick as possible, as successful as possible.

And we are still on this way. 17 months, though, in, how much time do

you give yourself to be successful? LAUGHTER

About the problem. It's not that I would decide only about this. But

I'm very, very positive. But how much time I can get for whatever,

I've no idea. I'm in close talks, if your question leads in this

direction, with our ownership. We are all fine. But, of course, we

know we need to deliver and show development. We will, no doubt. Can

you deliver this season, what would be successful now? What would be

successful? Qualify for the Champions League would be a big

success, 100%. Qualifying for the European league, I'm not sure I

could sell it as a success but it would be OK. But, for this, we need

to get more consistent and that's the job we know about. It's the

thing we have to show. Everybody's future is at stake. Is that where

these sort of talks are leading, in terms of you have transfer window is

coming up, people talk about strengthening your squad. The whole

year is squad planning. The one thing is, do you want to go for, the

other thing is who you want to keep and all that stuff. That happens

always. But it shows a lot at the moment how good they are. It not

been consistent is really not nice to talk about because it means you

are capable of really big things, but not every day, obviously. That's

the thing we need to accept. And to work on it. Our people write about

your defence? If we talk about offence, yes, we conceded goals

because of different reasons. Did we concede too many? Absolutely. People

spoke to me about single players. It was not because of single players.

We had to change a lot, that's the truth. Especially in the centre-half

positions. It seems like an excuse but it's only an explanation. Mane.

Mane brushes Chambers aside. What a performance from Liverpool. Is

Arsenal the perfect game for you to bounce back? LAUGHTER

Hopefully, yeah. LAUGHTER If you're getting criticism right

now and your team is getting criticism, Arsene Wenger has had

criticism for the majority of the season. But that's our life. That's

not a problem. In this situation, we have to think about how we can be at

our best. In the Arsenal game. If we want to stay in this region of the

table, we need to bounce back against Arsenal. That's how it is.

It's not that we have a choice. The alternative is that, OK, now they've

played really well until now against the big teams are now they don't

even do this any more. We have no alternative. We have to deliver

again to show a reaction. And hopefully we can.

It is a very honest assessment. He says he knows Liverpool lack the

strength and depth that perhaps some of the other title can contenders

have. Is that what he has to address? In the transfer market,

yes. Everywhere, really, to make them stronger. I was at the Chelsea

game last week and they brought on Matic, Willian, Zouma, with John

Terry still on the bench, it is a different world in terms of the

strength in depth. The initial 11 has to be better. They are not

playing anywhere near the beginning of the season. That is the first

time we are questioning some of his tactics. Playing lookers at the back

on Monday. Playing a high line. You cannot help but like him. He has

been restricted in terms of the finances. I would not give it free

reign that I hope he gets a good port and then we can judge him. --

pot. Other managers may have been sacked through this run of games or

performances. Because the standards are so high. The squad itself, the

bench, the last bench from Liverpool, the worth of that was ?30

million. Against Leicester? Yes, whereas Man Utd was ?100 million.

Man Utd are going in the right direction and Jurgen Klopp has to

follow that lead if he wants to challenge for honours. He has to

finish in the Champions League places. The bull has they are

contending for the title, that was not the plan, he has to finish in

the top four. Ex-managers have to get there. If he gets the money,

fine, but how do you attract players if you are not in the Champions

League? That is the difficulty. Two years ago Liverpool were under

Brendan a game away from winning the title. How close are the now? I

think they are long way off. Another manager desperate to get the top

four is Arsene Wenger and they meet each other today in the late game.

Liverpool have a great record against other top sides in the

division. That is not Liverpool's problem. They have to get out the

habit of raising their game for the games they know they can play.

Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, they play well, we know that. You have to

look in the eye of players when you are playing Hull, Leicester, who are

struggling. Liverpool players do not want to play in that kind of game

and have to change their mentality. Classic of losing to less than an

then beating Arsenal. Is it a huge feather in your cap? It is true.

Henderson is a big mess. I still fancy Liverpool to win the game. It

is the reverse of the opening day fixtures. Important matches at the

bottom as well. Middlesbrough without a win since Christmas.

Crystal Palace looking to build on their recent win. Second place

spires against Everton. -- Tottenham. Manchester United are

back in action after winning the first silverware of the season last

weekend. 2017 has been a good year

so far for Mourinho's men. The same cannot be said of today's

opponents Bournemouth. Worrying times ahead. Bournemouth

have been giving away too many goals of late. It is in! They were 3-0

down and have turned it round. What a mistake by the goalkeeper. Lukaku!

Southampton six, Bournemouth three. So will Bournemouth be able to claim

a first win of 2017 at Old Trafford? Most would consider that doubtful.

Even their manager is a doubt. Eddie Howe has gastroenteritis so he has

not travelled with the team but he pledges to be bedside for kick-off.

Jason Tindall is in charge of a team missing Simon Francis. There are

only change is an attack minded one, Afobe coming in for Jack Wilshere

who is one of the substitutes. All is well apart from Henrikh

Mkhitaryan. Luke Shaw, his first Premier League game since October,

starts. Wayne Rooney has been a score of the last waste these teams

met. -- score the last twice. Two points from 21 in 2017,

20 goals conceded in that time, 51 in total,

only Swansea are worse. They have real issues. They make so

many individual errors. You can argue any goal is an error. You

blame that rather than tactics? No, it is a bit of both because the

tactics create some of the problems. He has wanted the teams to play out

from the back and they are getting caught trying to do that. Do you go

a different way with your tactics? I am not mess as I lay saying you

should do that but they have not got as many options defensively as they

have in second areas so they have been limited at the back. The

full-backs fly forward which does not help the centre has. They can

get a win because they can stop conceding. -- cannot. You have to

place responsibility on the players who are doing the job. You give them

a formation. As a senior or one of the players you have to listen. Get

us up the pitch, because we cannot get out. They have to make decisions

on the pitch. They play Manchester United with one trophy under their

belt. Wayne Rooney is starting. His going to Everton has been a big

rumour. He is more than good enough to play. Who is he in place of? I

cannot see that happening. Where is your philosophy as a club, how to

get those young players games? I am glad to see him starting. He has

loads to offer. He has kept his head down well. What about Ibrahimovic?

Mourinho encouraging the fans to camp outside his house to encourage

him to stay at the club. If they can stay there can they keep them? I

hope so. He is really enjoying his football. I believe he will stay. If

they do not get it I believe he will stay. He is 35, I am not sure if he

is 36. To score 20 goals two seasons running at that age and continue to

be... Defenders fear playing against him, that is incredible. United will

just get better and better. They have to do what they can to keep

him. So Manchester United with one

trophy in the cabinet. The next step comes a week

on Monday at the Bridge. That has sealed Chelsea's place in

the last eight. United made it look so easy. I have won cups and every

club. It is becoming humiliation for Manchester United.

Is this a good place to be? Yes. Thanks to Pochettino. Since the

beginning he has brought his energy, philosophy, he has created a real

atmosphere inside the training ground and Tottenham Hotspur since

five years and I think that today is not the same club as when I first

came. Improve the lot and I think we reduced the gap with the best club

in England, and this is a way that we try to go all together, United

and committed with the club. Our Chelsea uncomfortable? They have a

big gap. -- will Chelsea be unable to be caught? They are real

contenders. The others try to be challengers. We feel step-by-step we

are reducing the gap. Do you need a trophy? Yes. In football it is

difficult to create success in one season. Obviously Leicester is the

example that is the opposite. The project in Tottenham is to create

basics inside the squad to keep responsibility to leaders and young

talented players who will have a great future with Tottenham and

England and national team. Dele Alli, I understand his dog is called

Mr Hugo. Is that anything to do with you? I don't think so. Have you met

his dog? No, but I will ask him after the interview. You can take

him for a walk. Dele Alli is a great talent. He knows that I will always

back him. Ireland like him. I like his personality and his character on

the pitch. He is in the best club at the moment to improve his game under

Pochettino. Dele Alli can be the symbol like Harry Kane is. Everton

is the big challenge on Sunday, to play at home in front of a crowd, I

think it is a last chance to finish in the top six, so it will be a

decisive game in the future for both teams. It is important to get the

advantage against the other challengers. How do you prepare for

a striker like Lukaku? I give the responsibility to my defenders!

Not a bad idea, they have the best defensive record.

How big a part does Lloris play in that?

He is huge to what Tottenham do at the back. Yes. I played a quarter of

my career at centre-half and having a goalkeeper behind you that you

know you trust, it is huge. As a back four, the back four has been

pretty much the same four players... A few injuries. Yes, but they find

their way back together again. When you have a settled back four and a

goalkeeper who is telling you where tickle, telling you to turn your

shoulders, it is huge. I like how he is in charge of the whole back five.

Everyone looks to him. Where do you want me? A big part of Tottenham's

success. Talking about winning mentality, Pochettino has changed

the club. Can you compared to when you were there? Not including the

beer. When I was there the club was trying to do things the right way.

There was a good mentality. A winning mentality comes from a coach

who comes in and get the players winning things after things on the

training pitch. You cannot have the winning mentality and not win games.

Collectively he has that group punching above their weight. My

understanding is, I know one or two of the boys, the intensity of the

training is really good, which helps their fitness, the demand on them

from him is constant, which improves your performance.

Eva Marie is talked about Lukaku. Spurs- Everton will be a comparison

against Kane and Lukaku. Who do you go to?

We were chatting and I would go for Kane. We agreed. He has more

consistency. Different strengths from both of them, both wonderful

players. We forget how young they are, especially Lukaku. He takes

unfair criticism at times, he scored at Everton and West Brom. He is so

powerful that sometimes when he gets tired he is not quite fit enough and

he looks a bit loose. With both of them, you will get 15, 20 goals per

season. When Lukaku is honoured, potentially he could be better. If

you are asking me right now, Kane or Lukaku to score me goals I will go

Kane every time. Some sad news now concerning

a great Evertonian. Their former Scottish international,

Alex Young, died earlier this He won the Scottish league

title twice with Hearts before moving to Everton,

where he was part of a Toffees' forward line, which claimed

the Championship in 1963, and the FA Cup at Wembley

three years later. His elegant style earned

the nickname "The Golden Vision". Some lovely tribute this week on the

BBC website as well. When Robbie Brady joined Burnley

in January he arrived in East Lancashire to be greeted

by a very familiar face. He and Jeff Hendrick have been close

since their school days, and Will Perry has been taking

register with the friends reunited. How well do you know your best

friend? Pretty confident? Don't know.

What colour are Jeff's eyes? Brown. Green, brown. How many days older

youth and Robbie? 14th of January and I'm 31st. You've given us a

maths question. Tell us where this bromance started. We must have been

seven, eight years old. I just joined Saint Kevin 's boys football

club. It went on since then and we played

in every team since then. Luckily enough we found ourselves back

together playing now. How much of a role did you play, Jeff, in getting

Robbie to Burnley? I told him it was up to him. Obviously I would love to

have him here, it would be great for me and the club but the main thing

was for him to go to a club which he really enjoy it and thought he would

be able to kick on with. Thankfully, he chose us. Do you see much of each

other after training? You are doing this here today. How much of each

other do you see? It takes a bit of time to settled in my own place. I

have seen him the last couple of weeks on and off. So... What does

that mean? It's been all right. Why are you laughing? Go on, Jeff,

what's funny? I can't! It's a brilliant story, let's be honest.

Not only for two guys to be playing at the same Premier League team

together but to play for your country and having been in that

schoolboy team, that was your dream, wasn't it? We wanted to be

footballers. We didn't really think about anything else other than being

a footballer. All the years growing up, people said, what if you don't

make it as a footballer? I was stubborn and I was saying I'm going

to be a footballer. And luckily it worked out. Luckfully! In it goes

and the place goes mad. Robbie Brady. That goal, Robbie? It was

enjoyable. The most enjoyable moment in football so far. Everybody

suddenly knew, your whole family, your girlfriend, celebrating, what a

moment it was. For me and my family it was amazing. And you have both

scored, let's face it, absolute worldies for Burnley. Great control

by Hendrick. What a finish. Brady. Brilliant Brady for Burnley. Whose

was better? Jeff's had a bit more about it. Look at that! We talked

about it. You think it has a bit more about it. It went in. But his

was a bit more to it. The defeat against Lincoln, how embarrassing

was that? I wouldn't say embarrassing. It was the FA Cup.

Four years you've seen big teams go out to smaller clubs. There's no

shame in getting beaten by someone. Definitely not embarrassment. In

terms of performance, we've kicked on from it. We put it at the back of

our mind. The main aim is to stay in the league this season. There is a

lot of focus on. We know what we need to focus on and hopefully we

can keep on putting in good performances until the end of the

season. Brady and Hendrik were taking part in a Burnley school,

playing with the kids as part of the Premier League 's primary stars

programme. You think the free kicks are better skill from Brady? I think

it's a more difficult skill because everything is already set up. A wall

in front, goalkeeper and you need to put the ball in a certain position.

Dan thinks was harder. A touch like that visible -- Hendricks was

harder. It comes easy for some people. On Burnley, has there been a

bit of a change? Last time in the Premier League they didn't spend

much money that they have been brought in along with others. From

Burnley's standards, a considerable amount of cash and a great training

ground. Is Sean Dyche building for the future? That is the word,

building. He is taking his time, not be allowed to be flash. He's not

been flash. He's brought in good, solid players that will make a

difference to the squad of players he's already got. I know Sean Dyche,

I played with him at Millwall, he's an out and out a winner. Captain,

centre-half he was. We did what he was told and his players are doing

the same. When you get quality in, the quality will attract quality. If

you can keep that quality, you will get another two or three players in

as the season goes. They are right in the middle of the table. Still

need to take care of their away form, two points on the road all

season and they take on Swansea this weekend. Swansea played OK in parts

against four at Chelsea last week that they were well beaten. It was

better than OK. They were a bit defensive in the first half, which

is understandable, going to Chelsea. And you think, be a bit braver. They

grew into the game. Their first chance they got a goal. They are

playing good football and do not look like a team at the bottom. That

is hard to do when you are near the bottom. That comes from the manager.

If that mentality? It is the manager giving new freedom to make mistakes

and play. He's brought young Carroll in the middle of the park, terrific.

Sigurdsson has another lease of life. He is a tremendous player.

Considering the opposition they've had in the last month, they've come

through it with flying colours. Even if you don't win every game, they

lost last minute at City four example. It gives you believe in

what you are doing. I expect them to win today. They have confidence.

Another of the sides battling relegation in action

Sam Allardyce was talking about getting back to basics. Very

defensively solid last week. Not Route one but trying to make the

most Benteke at the other end. That exactly what he's got to do. That is

the blueprint for Crystal Palace between now and the end of the

season because they've conceded far too many goals, more separate goals

than any other team in the Premier League. They need to shore things up

at the back and he's made changes there with Sakho and van Aanholt

coming in. A clean sheet last weekend, they will try to build on

that. In terms of Palace being successful going forward, they have

opportunities. Benteke's a good striker and we've seen in a

relegation battle with him before when he was at Villa. If you give

him chances, he will score goals, even in a poor team. They have the

players that will give them the opportunities with Wilfried Zaha at,

Andros Townsend and Jason Puncheon. They have got to shore things up at

the back to stand a chance. It is the wise policy going forward for

Crystal Palace. No such problems for West Bromwich Albion. Up to 40

points already and if they win today they will equal their points talent

tally for the whole of last season -- points tally. But at home,

unbeaten in the last five matches and Tony Pulis will be up for this

against his old club Crystal Palace today. Thank you, plenty more from

that. They do. A couple of artful dodgers

are reunited at QPR. And we close the power hour

that and you focus on it too much as a striker, it takes away from your

Does that affect the football? It does not affect you when you are on

the pitch. If you glance up it kind of makes you feel, what is going on?

A little bit intimidated. It is part of football. It is how it is. Your

family are joining you in Leipzig. Yes, that is key for my development

to keep them close. My mum can do my washing and cooking. We have food

here, the food is brilliant. It is good to have my mum around and my

stepdad. Isn't it good to see... I know there are politics around RB

Leipzig but isn't it good to see a young British player testing himself

in a foreign country? 19 years old, brave decision. By the looks of it,

he is smiling, enjoying his football, enjoying where he is

living. We were just speaking while he was talking and Dan was saying

that sometimes it is not about the club, it is about who once you, who

really wants you to play for them. I thought that was a great point. If

somebody wants you and they make you feel welcome, it can sway your

decision. I was a little bit dubious when I heard about Batman. I listen

to and he said no one else really wanted me that much. As a player

that is a huge thing. I went where I felt wanted.

One of the legendary Lisbon Lions, Tommy Gemmell,

He was part of the team that became the first British side to win

the European Cup in 1967, scoring in a 2-1 win

He also scored in the final three years later as Celtic

In all, he appeared over 400 times for Celtic between 1961 and 1971.

In addition to representing his country, Gemmell also played

for Nottingham Forest and Dundee, but it's that day in Portugal 50

years ago that ensured him of a place in Celtic folklore.

1967 was a wonderful year for Celtic and a special one

for Queens Park Rangers, and today marks the 50th anniversary

of their League Cup triumph, their only major trophy.

The area has changed since I was last year. The BBC studios. These

5-a-sides pitches, something to do with QPR community trust. We are

going to speak to a man who is going to mould the future, Les Ferdinand.

How are you doing? Thank you for having us. Shall we have a chat?

What was it like growing up in the 70s and 80s here? It was very

different at the time. I used to come past the stadium every day.

Sometimes preparing for a game on the way home you could never

envisage playing in a stadium. Good chance. Superbly taken by Gerry

Francis. You played for Gerry Francis. What was he like to play

for? He was the pivotal turning point for me at this football club.

He said to me, I am going to make you my Centre forward. Ferdinand!

Super goal. I was told that young black boys do not head the ball. The

first couple of times it hurt a bit. It was about working on the

technique. I scored a couple of nice ones. A couple against Man Utd. I

still had a lot of work to do. Ferdinand. Wonderful goal! Wonderful

goal by Les Ferdinand. It has not changed much. Unfortunately there's

not a lot we can do because of and staff. Just up here, get a bit of

abuse and staff. Coming back into this and understanding the role you

are going to get stick. Do you see certain situations of a different

light now you are upstairs? Yes. I never miss a chance from upstairs.

We cannot buy ready-made, proven, we are having to gamble on talent,

pretty much like yourself, myself. Somebody said to me, none of the

Centre forwards I liked you. The Les Ferdinand you sold from QPR did not

come here like that. He was developed here. That is what we are

trying to do. This is it. The hot seat. Can you imagine yourself being

there? I have done on several occasions. There's a reason I did

all the badges. It has been interesting. I have worked under

some great managers in my time. At some stage I am sure I will have a

go. Ian Holloway scores. We both remembered playing with him back in

the day. I've has he changed? He is no different. I remember him coming

into the offices and he put music on and he was dancing around. Everyone

was going, what is going on? I know Ian and this is Ian. This is what

you get. Hopefully we have someone in here that is full of enthusiasm

and wants people to matches enthusiasm. He is great to have
