Arsene Wenger has won the cup half a dozen times

in 20 years at the club, but today could be his

but he's certainly not going without landing a punch.

I have always loved English football, the way football is

created, people said a foreign coach could never be successful in

England. How special was that first Cup Final, completed the double. But

it was at the old Wembley. Yes and that makes a big difference. Because

I have seen the first Cup Finals at the old Wembley and for me that was

nearly a dream, it was really something special. To walk out there

at Wembley with the tradition... Walk your team out is something

exceptional. The first time you do that. It's really unbelievable.

2006 to 2014 we had restricted finances and had to sell our best

players and remain at the top. But we had to be in the Champions League

and we had to make at least 54,000 average attendance to pay back our

debt. I think that was the most difficult period of my life. As well

with maybe I did the best work, if you give me the chance today again,

I tell you, no thank you, let somebody else do it. Arsenal haven't

won a trophy for 2,382 days. When you don't win for a while and we had

the success before, everybody says, where are the trophies. It is a

goal. Unbelievable start. Headed down. Hit the post. It is 2-0. It is

knocked in. We're 2-0 down, we were shaky, nervous, we had to win. Right

footed, swings it in. Great goal. Fabulous free kick from Cazorla and

Arsenal are back in it. We came back in it and Ramsey scored and got us

that first trophy we hadn't won for a while. On the night it was just a

relief. Definition of madness, keep making the same mistakes thinking

the outcome will be different. From top to bottom, there is no

leadership. We have been made a laughing stock. Some of the

criticism has been severe. You don't mind criticism. Because we are in

the public job. The lack of respect in some stage has been for me a

disgrace. And I will never accept that. I believe there is a

difference between being criticised and being treated in a way that a

human being, I don't deserve to be treated. I will never forget that.

The behaviour of some people during the season... That hurts me most chl

because behind the work and the respect for this club are the values

this club respected and the image the club has given in recent weeks

is absolutely unacceptable. Because it tarnishes the impeccable image

that the club has. But because there are people who love you at

Arsenal... I don't question that. I just think... And I know that I meet

so many people who love this club and who I share the passion for the

club. It's not my person that is hurt. I don't believe that kind of

behaviour reflect what is Arsenal is and the values that Arsenal carries.

Can you see that moment, will you walk out of dressing room for the

last time, it has been your life. Of course I can see that. I'm not

specially interested in that. We live in a society that's always very

categorical and dismissive and I'm just interested in doing quality

work each day and let others judge that. I believe some club is people

who make decisions, no make the right decisions and that's why I

think the board is important and the manager is important in a football

club. What has gone wrong in the modern society it's not any more is

this the right decision, but is this popular or not popular. It is to buy

this player popular or not. Is to sack this manager, to employ this

manager popular. But it has nothing to do with competence. People have

to make the decision. People have to be strong to make decisions that are

not popular. The more expensive a player is the more credit he gets.

Nobody looks can he dribble, can he pass, can he kick the ball? He has

cost ?150 million he must be exceptional. I think we have to keep

it simple and just make the right decisions. Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy

it because football is first when you get up in the morning, expect

the game and expect some moments of happiness. That is why we love the

Could this be a seventh Cup Final win? We have the helicopter up there

in the sky S welcome to a glorious Wembley Stadium. It looks beautiful.

The heat in here becomes a little oppressive. On Arsene Wenger, he

still loves the game, strong words about the board meeting that will

take place in the next few weeks to decide his future. What to your mind

is the best outcome forArsenal? It seems if he was to go now it doesn't

give us a lot of time to get the next man. I feel he should be part

of the process to work this through. But he seems defiant. He doesn't

sound like a man who is about to go. He is calling out the board and

asking them to not go with the popular decision. The fans are

against him. You can't believe that's happened in the last 12 years

from what he has achieved and he wants, you know it may not be

popular, but he said make the right decision. Is he right there has been

a lack of respect? It's difficult. Football is about

winning. But only one can win. That doesn't necessarily make you a bad

manager if you don't. I think Arsenal has had long opportunities

to be on top, and I think he went with talent, not so much with

players who have already achieved a lot. Sanchez is one, and Ozil now.

But he needs more, especially in the defence. So therefore, I understand

the fans. He also understands the fans, but he is fighting. He wants

to continue, and I understand why. But I woke up this morning think it

was obvious that this would be the last day. Why would Arsene Wenger

commit to his future? Why create that uncertainty? Maybe he didn't

want to announce that and go out on a fanfare and be lauded by the fans.

He wants to go away quietly. Maybe he goes at the end of today, come

what may. But in that interview, he was fighting. That was a different

Arsene Wenger. It is his life. He doesn't want to let go of football.

He said retirement is for old people. Old people die. But how

serious it is for him. His life is dependent on staying in management.

You say it could be his last game. Let's look at the probable team.

There could be a number of issues at the back. Koscielny is suspended. He

might be without others as well. Monreal is also a doubt. Holding

will be taking on a full strength Chelsea seven. Haldane, ?1.5

million. Mertesacker has only played 37 minutes of the season. Ospina

coming in is a strange one. You can bet that two ways. You can say

Arsene Wenger believes in all his players, but Petr Cech should be

playing. You want that confident player with experience. Ruud, this

guy has only played 37 minutes this season. The first time pasta put

him, on the last minute of the transfer deadline, everyone was

surprised. Of course, he did his part, but I don't think he has been

the important part in defence. So therefore, if he doesn't play, it's

even worse for him. But worse for Arsenal. We saw the game against

Tottenham here. The moment has on Costa came in, the game changed. If

you have players who are against you who can run at you and rebel at you,

it's difficult, especially for him. He's been out in the cold for a long

time and he is strong mentally. He is going to need to be. Wembley has

been good to him. He screwed here for Germany. He is a big player and

will have to call on all of his experience -- he scored here for

Germany. It has been a turbulent time for Premier League managers

generally. We saw the departure of David Moyes, Sam Allardyce leaving

Crystal Palace. It's not a long term game for most people. The only

certainty you have is that you get sacked! Therefore, prepare yourself

for that. It is a hard world for managers now. People want instant

success. And especially with all the millions now that English football

clubs get, it's easy to get good players, so people expect a lot. It

doesn't necessarily have the best players, because with the money you

have, sometimes you see players where you think, hmm, would you buy

that? But English players cost a lot of money. They are also the core of

the team. That is what Tottenham have done exceptionally well this

year. You have mentioned a few superstar names. Let's look at two

men who may have a big impact today. Restart with Chelsea's magic little

Belgium. One is looking rosy at the moment in the garden of Eden.

Hazard, it's in! You have been a standout player this season. What

drives you to keep going? Not just me. The whole team, all the players

have been fantastic. We won a lot of games. At the end of the season, we

deserved to win this title. We have one FA Cup final to play. So we have

to be ready for everything. Then we can go on holiday. Antonio Conte has

taken the Premier League by storm. What do you think has been key to

his success? When he changed the system after two games. We lost the

games against Liverpool and Arsenal. Then in training, we work hard every

day. This has been key to the success. You mentioned that he

changed after the Arsenal game. You have got them again in the final.

How will you prepare as a team? We played the second game against

Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and we won. We played a fantastic game.

Brilliant! A brilliant goal by Eden Hazard! So we will see. It's a

final. It's all about details. I hope Chelsea can win the final. You

have won the double before. How do you deal with the pressures? You

have already won the league, but there is an extra pressure to win

the FA Cup. How amazing is the feeling once you do? You always want

more. For Chelsea, a big club like this, you need to win one, two,

three trophies a season if you can. We have the possibility to win

another trophy, so all the players are ready for that. Did you ever

watch the FA Cup as a child? Did you ever imagine you would play in the

final? I watched the Premier League, but not the FA Cup, to be fair. I

started to watch the FA Cup when I came here five years ago. It is such

a great competition for the fans also. Chelsea won a lot in this

competition, but since five years, we have missed that. So I hope for

me it will be the first one this season, and I hope we will be better

than the last five years. Terrific season to Eden Hazard. If

you're just joining us, it's Football Focus. We are live from

Wembley in the build-up to the FA Cup final. We are in the Chelsea

dugout with Martin Keown and Ruud Gullit. This is where Eden Hazard

was that for the semifinal. He came on and made a big difference.

Martin, we have seen throughout this season, particularly in the game

against Arsenal, when he runs at differences, he is terrifying.

Frightening. And his dribbling ability is up there with the very

top players. You are looking at Bale, Messi, Neymar, they won

brilliantly with the ball. This fellow decides when he goes past his

opponent. He is that good. He is on a halfway line here and there are

top players around him. They can't get near him. This is Koscielny, one

of the best defenders in the Premier League. It goes past him. He

embarrasses him. There is a cutting edge to his game this season that

disappeared last year. When he is in the mood and you keep him right and

satisfy his needs, he is up there with the best. Do you like? I like

him very much. He is a decisive player. He plays so cleverly between

the lines. He doesn't stay as a left-winger. Chelsea are hopeful to

keep him, but I think Real Madrid want him. It could be a swap, maybe,

with another great player like Bale. That is what the rumours are, but I

hope he stays at Chelsea because he has been vital. Their system helps

him. The Blitz is created by the wingbacks and then he can come into

those pockets. -- the witness is created by the wingbacks. We have

looked at the Arsenal side and talked about the possibilities and

the choices that Arsene Wenger makes. This is Chelsea, Ruud. It

picks itself. They have had not as many games as the others. Next year

will be a different season for them, with much more games to play. The

Champions League will be very important for them. But with

Fabregas, when you hear him saying this is the biggest contribution he

has made a winning, he has hardly played. That tells you about the

manager and how he has made him feel a part of it. That will be a big

call next year. It is the fewest games since 2000. So it has been a

joy for them. A lot of work has been done on the training pitch. If you

win, you can do anything as a coach. The moment you start to lose, all of

a sudden the guys who don't play are getting a bit grumpy. Something is

going on at the back. We have to see next year if Chelsea can keep doing

the same that they did. Nice leg cut Martin Keown the! -- nice leg touch

on Martin Keown. Let's look at the side who have qualified for the

Premier League. Manchester United now go straight into the group

stages of the Champions League after winning the Europa League. Could you

call it a gamble that paid off, winning the Europa League? I don't

think it's a gamble. Week in, week out, you look at what happens. All

of a sudden, you draw a lot of games. The league title is out of

your reach and you are still in the Uefa league. That is not a gamble.

Then you think to yourself, a prize is a prize. Congratulations to

Manchester United. Last year, they won the FA Cup and lost their

manager. But now they are going forward again. He calls it three

trophies because he includes the Community Shield. This was last

year. Where would be a good move for Wayne Rooney? I would like to see

him challenged again. I do feel there is a lot still under the

bonnet. I would love to see him back Everton, with a point to prove.

Seita Mourinho, you have made the wrong call. He's 31. They're still

must be some football in him. I am not having this business of saying

the club has run out, he started young. We all started young. It is

about desire and passion. He has been dignified in the way they let

him go, but he has to come back. He's too young. What I like about

this situation and Rooney is that Mourinho is in power. He decides

what is happening, not the players. That is what Ferguson did also. He

got rid of Jaap Stam. He regretted it, but he got rid of him. He also

got rid of Beckham when he thought it was right. That is a sign of a

great manager. Martin, you need to smile a bit more. He is already in

the mood of playing. Let's play now! Well, hold on because we have plenty

on why the cup mean so much and Antonio Conte on securing a bit of

every neutral happy that we have won it. We left the dress room --

dressing room and the Italians undoubtedly looked better than us.

Half-time the manager told us to play the way we are playing and just

push it a bit more. Off we go with Celtic to kick off. Through the run,

they were the easiest opposition we played. Inter after a very short

time were playing to hang on. Gemmell it is a goal. Celtic

performed in way that you felt had to win the match. In comes Craig.

Gemmell has scored a great goal. He has done it. 17 minutes of the

second half gone. We scored the goal, they came to the halfway line

and you thought, they're gone. Gemmell, Murdoch, it is there,

Celtic have scored! I think Chalmers put it in, but it doesn't matter.

Only five minutes to go. The European Cup is on its way to

Glasgow. They had taken a wrecking ball to the theories about the per

centages of defensive football. The whistle goes. I ran and he jumped

into my arms and we fell into centre circle. A friend is there and he

jumped each other's arms. Here was the conquering of Europe by a bunch

Looking at that Celtic side, this is part of your footballing education.

More than education. My footballing life. Simpson, Craig, Gemmell, Auld,

Lennox. Phenomenal team. Everyone brilliant. And I was able to watch

them in their later years and the Celtic team that came after was

fabulous. Do you think Aberdeen could spoil the party? They could,

but it is an outside chance. Celtic a good distance ahead and it shows

30 points ahead. It has been hard for Aberdeen, but Aberdeen are a

good side and Derek McInnes is a manager who has learned a lot

playing against Brendan Rodgers. But Brendan Rodgers is top standard.

There is a chance, but a slim one. Talking of invincible sides, you

watched a lot of Arsenal team in 2002, it is a stunning achievement.

It is go to go a whole season unbeaten and every game people are,

OK we need to win this one and keep that score, that line going. I

remember being at highborough -- highborough and watching Henry and

Pires taking it all in, because it is special. What do you think today?

Do you think you will be smiling at the end? A one off game, anything

can happen in finals. I remember being here playing Chelsea ladies

and they were favourites, but we won. Will it be Chelsea? I think

Chelsea are favourites, but certainly Arsenal are not lambs to

the slaughter as people have been suggesting. That is not the case.

Arsenal have to play at their very best and hope Chelsea have a slight

off day and probably the most important man here Antonio Conte had

to have a bad tactical day, I haven't seen him have one yet. Good

point. More from Pat this afternoon. And Alex will be every where. Now

one of Arsenal's top boys, Ozil and the club are keen to hold on to

German World Cup winner. Will he take control of the game today?

That is a yes rather than a yes. We are in the belly of Wembley Stadium.

They have some other Arsenal players there. Arsenal requested the east

dressing room at Wembley and they have had success there. Chelsea

wanted the west end, because when they have been at Wembley, they have

won all the finals in 2007, 2009 and 2010 and 2012, so both clubs happy

with the dressing rooms. Hooker Here are Ruud and Martin. You have been

outspoken about Ozil, he didn't seem to be around when they needed him

most. What has he not been doing? He took a lot of criticism personally,

a lot of people coming for him and he wasn't available for selection,

whether illness, injury, he showed up lately. Arsenal winning eight

games of the last nine. But today, it is out of possession that I have

a problem. He needs to work harder. Even the great players have to do

that. The Bergkamps and the Henrys work hard to get back into position.

You do that for the team. And occasionally when he has thrown his

arms in the air, players are trying to get the ball to him. Might be it

should have been policed better by the players and maybe they're too

nice. But they're back on track. But Ozil has to work to earn my respect.

Needs to earn respect. You lead by example. If you are one of best

players and you have won a World Cup, you have to do that. If you do,

the other players will repay that with work and give you the ball.

That is your position in the team. The other key man will be Sanchez,

he has a great record at Wembley, in five games for country and club he

has scored six. Including this beauty. I think he is tailor made

for this type of pitch. It has that great athleticism and he is an

opportunist and he is a defender's nightmare. You can't give him a

moment's space. He is a match winner. I love him. His work rate is

high. That is why people love him also. That is why the players love

him. Therefore great player, I think that was the right buy for Arsenal.

They can hurt Chelsea. They can but they need to test the back three and

they have two midfield players in Matic and Kante, Kante is almost two

players in one. They're playing with 12 players. And they offer

themselves brilliantly. But their manager has stitched in the

information to the players. They know their roles and Arsene Wenger's

copied that system, what a great compliment that is. We have two

teams with a back three. I can't remember that happening. It is a

bank holiday weekend final of finals, a League Two play off and a

Championship play-off that seas Reading playing on Huddersfield.

David Wagner has been talking to Mark Clemmit.

Wise words from Huddersfield native and former Prime Minister, Harold

Wilson. I think football has changed a bit since then when the club were

last in the top flight. A goal. 45 years on from the days of Frank

Worthington the three times former champions of England and one of the

favourites for relegation are preparing for arguably the biggest

game in their history. What I want to know is what sort of things are

going through your head right now with such an enor nous game looming?

Maybe it sounds boring, but it is exactly the same as what I had in my

head before the league match. I have Reading what we can do, what they're

doing, who is available and who will be fit, what we will do in training.

Have you taken your squad and said, forget the occasion, this is just a

game? From my point of view they can take that atmosphere, the occasion

if this gives them a lift. I'm not worried about that they will be

nervous, because what they have done in the semi-finals, this makes me

totally relaxed they're able to focus in different circumstances. Up

it comes and it is saved by Ward and the dream goes on for Huddersfield

Town. Maybe with Rio is the Wembley Stadium in London one of the best

football places where you can be involved and we are involved in a

proper competition match in the final to come to the Premier League.

We know that this city will be bouncing if we are successful for

sure. You're going to Wembley. Yes. I'm worried about the rest of guys.

There will be nobody here. They can a day off. I hope we win and we will

be hitting the big boys. It has been an incredible season and I'm stood

here with yourself thoroughly proud of what we have achieved so far and

if there is any club who deserves the opportunity to be there at

Wembley to contest the play-off it is our club. I have a problem I

asked Andy your coach, what it is that you do, your attention to

detail. He said, your attention to detail is so great you are not

allowing any of your staff to tell anybody what your attention to

detail is! He is well trained. Or they didn't understand!

Do you allow yourself to dream that you could be walking up those steps

with the greatest prize in your clutches? At the minute, my head is

only around how we can beat them. Then I can think about the Premier

League. It makes no sense to think about it before because we are not

die, but we will try everything to be there, for sure. It is very hard

to control Ruud Gullit. He is wandering around, having a look at

everything. Where are you going? I want to talk to you both about

Huddersfield and Reading. Martin, Huddersfield have a really

impressive story. The David Wagner has done things, that rotation of

the squad, and to get them to one game of the Premier League is

remarkable. It certainly is. And the pressure on that game, it is the

biggest game in football and they will be here to see how the players

cope with that. They want to join the big time, Huddersfield. It has

been a long time coming. But they have got to get past Reading, and

Jaap Stam has done just as good a job. From one Dutchman to another. I

am very proud of him, because he had to the Dutch course as well. I got

the diploma. And he is doing well at the moment. He makes them play in

his style and he has success with it. I am very proud of him. A lot of

old players who did that course which was tailor-made for them have

done extremely well. So competence to the Dutch federation. Jaap Stam

didn't make it onto the candidates for Manager of the Year. He should

have been on there. You can feel the heat now. We have one Arsenal legend

with us. We will bring in another one. This is a man who won the FA

Gilberto Silva? It was a great day when you play your final game for

your club. It was a great day for us even though it was not an easy game.

But the end, we got it. It was great after the game. You came in as a

World Cup winner, and so humble. Straightaway, you could see he was a

winner. It was his chance to play in a cup final, and you had great years

at the club, playing alongside Patrick Vieira, a truly great

player. I can say that was the greatest year in football in my

life. I played for Arsenal for six years. It is not so easy as a

Brazilian to come here and succeed in the best football in the world

for a great club like Arsenal. I was fortunate enough to play alongside

Martin Keown. He is my good friend! Are you going to stick around? I

want to know something. What was the big difference from the football you

play before and when you came to England? Of course, the language

first. And then? I think the pace of the game, my first five games here,

I got smashed on the field. I could not cope with the speed of the game.

In Brazil, you get the ball and sometimes you have space. I was

always shouting. In Brazil, it is very hot. You don't have the same

tempo on the field. I have space. Basically, I was just playing on the

side until Arsene came to me and said, come on, I want you to get the

ball and go straight forward. OK, fine. But the first five games were

hard. Go over there, you lot, and continue your conversation. All

Premier League in your first season here. It is an incredible

achievement, record number of wins and now an FA Cup final. Have you

had a chance to celebrate yet. Yeah. For us, it was important to

celebrate winning the league, because it was a great achievement.

But at the same time, it's important to find the right concentration

because for us, it's important to reach this important target. My

players are ready. They are working very well. I am seeing the right

concentration. They can fight and play this game against Arsenal. You

come in against a manager who knows this competition very well. He is a

joint record holder of six FA Cup wins, Arsene Wenger. Does that put

you slightly on the back foot? Force, it is important to have the

same anger. For sure, Arsenal have had the opportunity to win this

important trophy in a season when they missed qualifications of the

Champions League. And for this reason, we have to pay great

attention because they will arrive with anger and concentration. Are

you making yourself be underdogs, then? You can't be, surely. We won

the season, were we started the season as underdogs. Don't forget in

the first game against Arsenal, we lost 3-0. For sure, we are a strong

team. But Arsenal is the same. They have the possibility to save the

season with a great win in the FA Cup. For me, it would be great in my

first season. Carlo Ancelotti did that in his first season in 2009,

but it didn't go so well the following season. Honestly, I prefer

to take the risk to win the FA Cup and then have this type of risk.

What was your knowledge of the FA Cup growing up? Did you know about

it when you were a boy in Italy? Did you ever see matches? Only on TV. I

watched a lot of games. These days, I watch the previous games when

Chelsea won the FA Cup. They won against Middlesbrough. So it was the

Italian angle you were looking at. I think this league is an interesting

league, maybe the best in the world. This will be John Terry's final

final. How important has he been somebody you can go to? He is so

entrenched here in Chelsea. John is a legend for Chelsea, for sure. It

won't be easy for him to think there is only one game to go now. He is a

great man. I was very lucky to be Chelsea's manager and who have the

opportunity to work with him and to know him very well. This season, he

has helped me a lot, on and off the pitch. For this reason, I tell him

always big thanks. It is a dream to see him lift the FA Cup. One final

word on Arsene Wenger. He has been at Arsenal for 20 years. Can you

imagine being at a Premier League club for that long, with all the

pressures and all the challenges that are thrown at you? I think it's

wonderful to stay for so long time in one team. Arsene Wenger did a

fantastic job for Arsenal. But I started this season and I hope to

stay for many years in this country, because the atmosphere that you find

here is incredible. I am ready for this challenge. It won't be easy,

but I am ready. He has had a great season, Antonio

Conte. There are lots of stories in the papers that he is going to sign

a deal to keep him at Chelsea until 2021, nine 5p. Only? You think he is

worth more? -- ?9 million. Why not? There were talks in Italy that Inter

wanted him. I think his wife and kids also coming to London. London

is a great place to live. I think he also sees the future in Chelsea full

stops are hopefully, he would do the same in the Champions League. How

much of their success this season has been done to him? It was a

strong dressing room he came into. He started to boss the team and he

has been magnificent. Why wouldn't he want to stay? The challenge is

here. All the top managers are now here in this Premier League.

Guardiola is already buying players. He will have one eye on that as
