Sebastian Vettel wins in Germany, his fourth victory of the season.

And that Red Bull is looking pretty good. So does that mean the

championship is all but over? Not a chance! Hawaii? It starts with this

track right here. -- wide? Do not just look at the tide and turns and

dusty track, look beneath, there is always a surprise here.

The Lotus is on fire! Bully paymaster is intense -- is in

intensive care tonight. We paymaster is knocked unconscious. I think you

deliberately did that. This has been a favourite for McLaren, five out of

six wins, the British have dominated Henry -- here.

Takes his third victory, he is a winner again! He wins the Hungarian

Grand Prix! He owns this track, he has won here three times. At this

weekend be his first win for Mercedes? -- could this weekend.

What about Lotus? Can Kimi Raikkonen close the gap on the championship?

He has done it! Jenson Button wins the Hong Gary and Grant prix! --

Hungarian Grand Prix. The youngest man to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix!

So Fernando Alonso knows what it takes, he needs to get his

championship back on track but the bigger surprise is that this is the

only long-standing Grand Prix that Sebastian Vettel has never won. So

are we in for another surprise? What we do know is that Sebastian

Vettel is leading the field. 34 points ahead of Fernando Alonso,

with Kimi Raikkonen third, Lewis Hamilton 17 points adrift in fourth

place. Mercedes up to second in the run for the constructors title, with

Red Bull standing strong. Welcome to the Hong Gary in --

welcome to the Hungaroring, and we must not under estimate this heat.

34 degrees ambient temperature and 50 degrees on track. It is going to

affect proceedings. Unquestionably, tyre degradation,

thermal degradation, it will affect them in tyre -- in higher

temperatures, and the KERS system, cooling the car, that is huge for

the driver. And it is hard inside the cockpit. But that is what they

are trying for so that is the least of their worries.

It is hot -- it was hot chest today in qualifying, this is the report.

As track temperatures hit 50 degrees, some cars were struggling.

Jenson Button looked like he has made -- looked like he had made

progress, but he had to settle for 13. Kimi Raikkonen what less

comfortable, he starts from sixth. His team-mate Grosjean qualified

third but a nervous few moments followed as the car failed a test,

the team argued their case and no penalty was applied.

Mixed fortunes for Red Bull, Mark Webber missed the Q3 shoot out and

his team-mate looked like he had done enough for pole position but

was second. That left Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton who took his third

consecutive pole position and forth of the season, despite thinking his

lap was not good enough. -- and his fourth.

I was only half a second top on the previous lap and I thought Sebastien

was up on that on his first few laps so I thought it was not enough. I

was really surprised when they told me. Lewis Hamilton has a clear view

from the front. Grosjean is third. Fernando Alonso says he wants to

catch Sebastian Vettel by turn one, he is fit. Kimi Raikkonen in sixth.

Another impressive form and is from Daniel Riccardo, and Mark Webber is

10th. And all-German Row six. The Williams

line up together, a lap of grip forces Paul di Resta to stop from

18th. Max Chilton is 22nd. David Lewis surprised himself with --

David, Lewis surprised himself with pole position, but best qualifying

for Grosjean in third. You see him growing, great result

and he has been the quicker of the two Lotus drivers in Budapest.

Fernando Alonso said yesterday he wanted to get down into turn one

first, is that possible from Beth? We should not be surprised and he

has to rely on what else he has. We saw in Melbourne he gets blocked on

the inside. He runs into the first phase of the corner and look at the

driving as he runs out of one and into two, he releases KERS early and

he has moved up to third by turn three. This is by rain of the grid

in third place. The getaway is acceptable but he does not gain

anything initially but as he goes into turn one, he goes to the

outside and crucially as they come through turn one, he is in the right

position. Barcelona, started fifth, running

Mercedes and gets into third, and that was crucial because he went on

his car in the right place. I am going to chat to Gary and find out

about the best strategy. Will I bump into this McLaren engineer? Gary,

what do you think, what is the best plan for the teams today?

If you do three stops, you are more vulnerable to get caught in traffic

and behind cars, that is critical because overtaking is very difficult

in Barcelona, sorry, Hungary! It is very hot today and it will

affect the tyres, what do we expect in turns of the different compounds

follow-up numbers? The softer tyres like to

temperature, the medium tyre is not good at that but it is longer

wearing tyre so it is a compromise. People will have to be alert. But

the heat will be a problem for everything so reliability could be

an issue today. This is David on the grid.

A good weekend, strong going into the race?

A good weekend, we have been doing a good job and hopefully keep going.

We will do our best every time and see.

Do you have a set strategy or are you just reacting? Yes hopefully a

good start, we will see. Can you translate the performance of

yesterday into today? We did not expect to be this far the

grid today so we will try to on. We are all out of our league a bit for

today but I will try my best and hopefully we do not go that way.

What is your expectation this afternoon? We have big hopes, I do

not know what the people behind will try to do. But I think we have a

good opportunity to get points today in our position.

How did the car feel and have the problems of yesterday been solved?

Yes, we had a bit of intermittent trouble yesterday. But I think it is

probably the most competent we have been in 24 hours and things are

looking more normal again so through aim -- through no lap of effort from

the boys, they have been working hard. But still disappointed to end

up back here but I have two take that and make the most of what we

have got. In the summer of Great British sporting success, can Lewis

Hamilton and his name to the telly? His team-mate one in Monaco, Tom and

Lee are in the pot claim that are in the pit lane.

stay in front once the rates gets underway. 20 years ago, Damon Hill

won his first Grand Prix here and ten years ago, Fernando Alonso won

his first Grand Prix. Grosjean will have two win to continue that

sequence as he starts third, to be a winner in Hungary. We have soft and

medium tyres, the temperatures are high, that is a challenge, there is

also a slight advantage on the left-hand side of this grid rather

than the right. Can the teams compensate for that with the

trickery in their electricity? It is difficult, the track is

dirtier and slippy so there is not as much grip. There is still a bit

of a problem and if you make the start all right, you might be able

to hold on to second, but Grosjean might have other ideas to get

Sebastian Vettel before the first corner.

And he made be running a different stint length, he runs a long one

last time in Germany. This is a different attire from

Germany so it is more responsive to the steering wheel and that seems to

help him -- a different attire. And that seems to be a good thing for

him. Tom is in the pit lane, what have you heard from Pirelli?

It is about tyre life and with track temperatures of 50 degrees, the

softer tyre currently likes to perform between 105 and 125 Celsius.

And so we could see temperatures, tyre surface temperatures peaking at

150 as a result of the stack temperatures so it would be

difficult to keep tyres in their working Grange.

-- working Grange. Different territory with these tyres, and

Hamilton leads as he did last year, he took a victory last year driving

for McLaren, can he take his fourth win here in Hungary? To remind you

of that great, Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel share the front row

as they did in Germany. Red Bull making a great start. Grosjean and

Rosberg in the second row. Felipe Massa and Daniel Ricciardo after

that. But in is in 13th. -- Jenson Button.

Mark Webber was able to start on a new set of the medium tyres. Sergio

Perez alongside him has done four laps on his so Mark should have an

advantage despite being on the dirty side.

Some of the expert saying Mark Webber has a good chance in this

race of moving up the field and battling for the win. It depends how

much the read is spread out in the early stages. Longer pit stops this

weekend, with a new 80 kilometre per hour speed limit in the pits. Ready

to go now in Hungary! Lights out, away we go! Lewis Hamilton gets away

brilliantly and so does Grosjean?. Rosberg on the inside. Look at the

battle for second, Sebastian Vettel squeezed on both sides. Grosjean is

trying to go round the outside and he has to get back into place in

third with Rosberg right beside him. The Ferraris challenging finance oh

Alonso. And Alonso trying to go outside. He is in front of Rosberg.

Felipe Massa is also ahead of Rosberg who runs wide and might lose

a place to Kimi Raikkonen. He is on the outside! It is all over the

place! Rosberg has got back in front. The Florey and the Mercedes

trying to stay out of trouble. Hamilton is in the lead. And Mark

Webber is battling with Jenson Button.

Amazing there was no contact around the opening lap and it went wrong on

turn 54 Rosberg. -- turn 54 Rosberg. And Rosberg was

just closing down and expecting the Ferrari to evaporate and the Force

India is trying to find its way past Adrian Sutil. Poor qualifier from

him yesterday that he is picking up places. Romain Grosjean third,

Felipe Massa in fifth, and Mark Webber has come out of this well in

seventh position. Jenson Button is up to eighth place. Adrian Sutil

being passed round the outside by Nico Hulkenberg. He has split the

two Force Indias. The drivers are fighting for every piece of track

position. They are settling into what will be a fairly hard slog to

the first pit stop. The cars are heavy with fuel at this stage though

they are running slower than at qualifying. Look at this, the

right-hand side of the grid is not getting away so well. Romain

Grosjean going wheel-to-wheel with Sebastian battle. A clean run into

the first corner. -- Sebastian Vettel. Some action happening down

behind Alonso, dropping a wheel off the circuit as he tries to get round

the outside of Romain Grosjean. He deliberately drove the car wide,

which is absolutely his right. We can see that from on board. He

releases the KERS. Renault against Renault. Maybe a year ago we would

have seen contact but he kept that clean. Then he had to accept that in

this instance Sebastian gets away with it. You can see the advantages

for Ferrari. All over the back. They are approaching into turn one and

the apex drops away and Romain Grosjean does very well as he

oversteers the car wide to get away with it. This is the view from on

board for Sebastian battle. -- Sebastian . Nico Rosberg goes around

the outside. Not much that Felipe Massa can do that. He cannot make

the car disappear. In this instance, some damage to the front

of that Ferrari. On board with Nico Rosberg. Pastor Maldonado right at

the front of that Ferrari. On board with Nico Rosberg. Pastor Maldonado

right up ahead of him. They are running with one car in 11th place

and one in 18th. Ahead of Maldonado, Sergio Perez, who has not been able

to escape. Sergio Perez chasing after Daniel Ricciardo. Doesn't look

like there is any damage to Rosberg's car. Yes, he just had a

bump. A difficult situation now, running in 12th place. Not the best

weekend so far for Rosberg. Paul Di Resta it is in the background, 13th,

with his former team-mate at Force India behind him. Struggling with

that front axle as he runs the car into the ground. I can't imagine he

is losing that much downforce from the car in front, Maldonado. He

would adjust his brakes in the rear to take pressure off the front

braking system. 0.6 of a second separating Felipe Massa and Kimi

Raikkonen. Raikkonen needs to move up the order as quickly as

possible, losing valuable time behind both curares. -- both cars.

Front wing problem. That is interesting. Look at the left, right

of screen of course. You can see that there is no plate supporting

the upper flat and rather conveniently they can give us that

camera angle of it. Gary will be able to explain the effects of that.

The actual elements of the wing are all in place. In terms of creating a

separation, and the downforce, that is all intact. It is just not able

to channel it off that end plate. Jean-Eric Vergne and van der Garde

have made a pit stop on lap nine. Van der Garde told his team that the

tyres had gone. They are struggling on tyres in the lower teams, but

what about the top teams? They might get more distance out of theirs. We

will see that it is getting round the time when we see the stops.

Since we saw Nico Rosberg a couple of laps ago, the team have put up a

sign saying tyre one. It is a new sign, so we will have to see what

that means. Any ideas? None whatsoever! I can make something up,

if you like! Lewis Hamilton has come seconds, but not the best. That

brings him out with Jenson Button, interestingly. On the outside. His

former team-mate. They would have gambled that he could get out ahead

of Jenson Button. With fresh tyres, he would have more potential in his

Mercedes car. But this is what we call the Monte Carlo circuit.

Overtaking is incredibly difficult and it is Mercedes power against

Mercedes power. It has helped Mark Webber because he is a little bit

ahead. If he had gone out in front of Jenson Button, he might have

caught Mark Webber, but now he has the problem of getting past the

McLaren. Despite changes to the car, it is not really a podium finishing

car. They are working on that. Sebastian have what it takes to open

up a gap? He will want to have more of a gap over Romain Grosjean to

have the comfort of doing the pit stop. He may well just be looking at

where they would come out in terms of traffic as we get the runners

running past finish line. We will be able to tell you where they should

be able to. That flapping front wing. Hamilton has made his first

stop. Maybe it is an attacking three-stop strategy? Maybe some long

stints on the medium compound tyre. Hamilton is behind our race leader,

so in terms of total time lost, that is what the Red Bull team are

looking at. Rosberg comes in. looked pretty smart. Three seconds,

the same as Lewis Hamilton. Romain Grosjean has taken half a second out

of Sebastian. Did he make a mistake in that first sector? Is that the

Paisley has got now? The Lotus might be looking after their tyres better

than Red Bull. Can you imagine what this racetrack will look like after

the last lap? ! They got a chunk of rubber on their front wing yesterday

as well. This is going to be interesting. How far and how fast

can Romain Grosjean go over the next few laps? Great performance on the

softer tyre? Will he have to come in next? Into the pit. It is pretty

quick, but not as slick as sometimes. Hamilton was the second

quickest, so I would expect him to come out in front. He will pump out

in front of Sebastian. Where will Jenson Button be relative to

Sebastian? He have too tucked in behind him. That will not help

Sebastian. -- he hath to tuck in. Romain Grosjean have to unleash

something here. Hoping for slick work in the pit stop. They will want

some clean air to protect themselves against the Lotus. We gather that

they got him at the end of the DRS for Jenson Button. That could be

crucial. Sebastian is on a new set of the medium compound tyre. When

they are new, you have that extra grip advantage but you have to use

it quickly, otherwise they settle down into a pattern. Romain Grosjean

is going round again but Ferrari are going round into the pit lane.

Felipe Massa has been in on the previous lap and they did not

replace the front wing. They decided it was better to leave the broken

front wing on, rather than lose the next a few seconds putting on a new

one. Sebastian will end up behind Romain Grosjean after the stops, I

think. Perez is another one staying out there, on the medium compound

tyre. Lewis Hamilton radio. We need to look after the rear wheels.

think Romain Grosjean is going for the two stop. It looks like Lewis

Hamilton might be on the three stop, the more attacking strategy. Will

that work? Sebastian Vettel has not got past him yet. In terms of lap

times, doing a great job. We know he is doing at least 1.29 or more.

wonder if Kimi Raikkonen is going to be in first. No, it is Romain

Grosjean. He has not been able to go quite as deep as he did in Germany.

Let's see if he is on a different strategy. This could still play out.

Lewis Hamilton is at the top of the screen. Double stop for Lotus.

Raikkonen straight in. Let's see the run to the first corner, please?

Romain Grosjean has come in behind Vettel. That was the car that he was

stuck behind. Kimi Raikkonen comes back out behind the Ferrari. I was

never very good at maths, but the numbers are not adding up. Romain

Grosjean should have come out in front of Vettel. Did he have a

mistake? We will find out in time. Vettel seeing a lot of McLaren up

close, not a pretty sight for him. It was pretty busy in the pits for

you, Tom? Yes. I am standing next to the latest pit area and I want to

comment on fabulous teamwork. driving style. Tyre temperatures.

Yes, tyre temperatures, but they had four people around the pit. They

swapped the tyres quickly on Romain Grosjean, then Kimi Raikkonen came

in and it was beautifully choreographed. They looked exactly

the same time from where eye was standing. Very good from Lotus. The

speed of the Red Bull is usually lower than the speed of the

opposition. He is being asked to get out of the slipstream to call the

car down already. Temperature is already a major issue. A temperature

is 34, not as hot as it had been forecast. The disadvantage of the

slipstream issues is that the drivers take the same line, which

creates a clean line. If you pull out of the natural line, you are

going over the marbles and dust, and it compounds the difficulty of a

lack of downforce. The drivers can counter that with some sharp

shifting. They can lift off the throttle a bit earlier before they

brake. It costs lap time, but it brings down the energy and the heat

and the electrical systems, the KERS and the engine. Mark Webber leads

this race from Lewis Hamilton who is the first to make a pit stop.

Hamilton has an advantage over Jenson Button on the hard tyre.

Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel are in the same race and Hamilton has got a

good distance over him. Vettel toxin behind Jenson Button and he has a

problem because he has been told to cool the car. -- Vettel is just

behind. Dear Ross allows them to cool off

into the braking zone but Johnson Button gives him space. -- DRS. It

has any -- it is having a huge potential on the outcome of the race

but Jenson Button doing what he should do and has not stopped trying

to run his race and part of that is not to make it easy for the cars

behind you. When it plays out towards the end of the Grand Prix,

it is unlikely Jenson Button was still race Red Bull over Lotus at

right now he very much is. That is looking back at Sebastian

Vettel and counting the gap between Hamilton and Vettel, between second

and fourth place, the gap is five seconds.

One of the side-effects of airtime is putting to one side apparent woes

right now and this gives valuable TV coverage so the marketing men will

be thinking, thank goodness, we can send a nice report to our sponsors

and say, we got this much percent of airtime coverage! Vettel not close

enough to attack Jenson Button. Jenson Button A2 macro times winner

around this track, 2006, 2011. -- A2 macro times winner. Sweltering

temperatures. A move from battle. He is still on the attack.

He has not found a place past the McLaren and a great runner for

Grosjean. So fast into that corner. He would have released KERS 33 so

good reaction from Grosjean?, but Vettel defence. -- through lane

three. We are on board with Grosjean and he

has closed up to the back and it has allowed Jenson Button to make his

escape. Upfront as Mark Webber leading the race and he is lapping

consistently. Faster than anybody out there at this stage.

Drop back in the middle sector to cool the car and the brakes.

He is asking for the front wing to be checked.

There may have been contact at ten to with Jenson Button. It looks

pretty stable. Grosjean coming through the slipstream. And wanting

to fill the mirrors of the car of Vettel.

Fernando Alonso is catching this group and is having a better time.

The Rory is beginning to close up on these cars ahead so we have several

races here -- the borough. Mark Webber on one strategy and Lewis

Hamilton. You cannot have high, Sebastien.

They are trying to get as much cooling in the car as possible

because of the KERS system and that will affect his time, so he will

have KERS storage and will be able to release it but not to the level

to give him the maximum power available. That makes him more and

more vulnerable to the car behind. A bit of damage to the front wing. You

can see it to the right of the screen, he is missing a lap, so

there was contact between him and Jenson Button. Not going to plan so

far for Vettel but perfectly for Mark Webber after a troubled

qualifier. Lewis Hamilton has breathing space, six seconds ahead

of Jenson Button, making the best of his strategy. Yet to stop, Mark

Webber and Jenson Button. And they are both in clear SO not

having overheating issues. Grosjean on the attack. -- in clear air so

not. He is trying on the outside and Fernando Alonso is not far behind.

KERS again into two, so Vettel being defensive again.

He is in fourth place and working hard, Grosjean in fifth, Alonso in

sixth. Vettel has front wing damage, we are

in the window. Going reasonably well for McLaren,

not so good for Sebastian Vettel, damage on the car and it is

overheating, and he has got Grosjean reading down his neck and Fernando

Alonso catching, and the aim of Alonso is simply to get ahead of

Sebastian Vettel, he just wants to be in front of him.

Catching him is one thing. And the difficulties they are having

allowing a free run, but will he have enough pace to turn the

predator into the prey? Grosjean, 343.

Grosjean for Ferrari. McLaren happy with their drivers at

the moment, Vettel is in seventh position at the moment. Kimi

Raikkonen in 10th position. Some have stopped, as they used the soft

tyre at the beginning. Grosjean cannot quite get there, can he do

anything on the exit of turn one and towards turn two? That is a Red Bull

team looking concerned. That is the race engineer of

Sebastian Vettel. A change of position, up to eighth

place, but contact between Felipe Massa and a Force India.

Adrian Sutil, I believe. He is having an afternoon of it, Felipe

Massa. Adrian Sutil is in the pits, as a result of that, I do not know.

There was damage on the Red Bull. It looks like it has collapsed on top

of the front wing lap itself. Downforce is generated from

underneath the wing and it is the important side, as long as it is not

damaged, it will be reasonably efficient. It looks like terminal

damage to the Force India. They reported a gearbox problem over

the radio, if that had already happened, I do not know. Instead of

having his foot on the rake, the rear axle is spinning.

We have had a hydraulic leak we believe just happened over the last

lap. So the clutch would not release as a

result and although he would have had his crotch panel on the back of

the steering wheel, resume maybe, why would it spend the rear axle, a

compound of errors perhaps. -- clutch.

Vettel trying to get on turns here, it is a wonderful race. Jenson

Button will enjoy being in the mix with these guys which he has not

been able to do much this year. But can he keep it up? That is the race

leader, Mark Webber. Let's see if we get another vision

of that. A battle behind. 3.3 seconds is the gap.

Where is Jenson Button getting his DRS from? He is ten seconds behind

Hamilton so how has he got the RS available? Unless somebody headed to

the pits. Strange. Grosjean is still on the

attack. Tight onto the back wheel of Sebastian Vettel. But no change. And

no chance of a hill in turn four. Gary, how is this race involving?

To do this at a two stop race is looking good. Damage to the car of

Sebastian Vettel. Hamilton, doing no harm to him. They are pushing hard

and the tyres working reasonably well.

Target plus ten for this stint. They will definitely go for a two

stop race. Tyres lasting reasonably. That is the car you want to look at

to see how they are performing because the history says... The race

leader is coming into the pits now. He started on the medium compound

tyre. He has done 24 laps on a new set of

medium tyres. Is that kind of stint length what he needed?

23 laps is pretty short for a two is didn't race, I do not know why he

has done that. -- a two stint race. There was more time.

It looks like a blister on the front tyre so maybe that forced the early

stop or he has run out of rubber. Peres is polling over and he started

on the same tyres. Her -- Sebastian Vettel, great piece

of overtaking! Grosjean is polling over, and there

might be damage on the Lotus! And Alonso has got past Alonzo, we will

have to take another look. A big slide for Fernando Alonso.

He had to slide so you pick up marbles and dust and it went wrong

for Jenson Button and it went back to turn three that we talked about.

Grosjean is all right, he is continuing. We can take another

look. This is coming out of turn five,

Jenson Button does not get a turn off the corner and this comes to the

left slightly. He has come in, Jenson Button is in.

That is the work going on. Have they changed the front wing? I do not

think so, in 3.5 seconds! The Lotus just drifted and Jenson

Button was completely against the side of the track are not much he

could do. He has gone on to the soft tyres

from the medium, so he has done that fairly early in this race so a short

stint coming up for him but he has lost valuable time. Look at Grosjean

behind Sebastian Vettel, Vettel not getting away from the Lotus. Has he

been able to recover engine temperatures sufficiently to get

maximum KERS usage? A lot of discussion going on with Lotus. They

are looking at two stops for Grosjean and still a great chance

but Vettel is running winded. Hamilton upfront putting in the laps

but he is in -- he is on a three stop strategy so that makes an

interesting end to this race. For anyone watching for the first

time, KERS is worth an extra 80 horsepower when the driver pushes a

Button for 12 seconds around the lap so if Red Bull cannot run ball KERS,

that can affect them. Mark Webber is well past and he is

through, Grosjean is on the medium compound tyres as he cuts through

the pit lane. Hamilton is still the race leader. Tom, have you a view of

that? I want to update you on those medium

runners. Jenson and Mark coming in a few laps earlier than we expected,

as a result of these high temperatures because the medium tyre

has a lower working range than the soft, and it just cannot cope with

these 51, 50 two degrees tyre temperatures.

Fernando Alonso hounded by Mark Webber, he has done 15 laps on this

set of tyres and Mark Webber has only done four laps because he has

been an more recently. -- he has been on. Grosjean being

told about Felipe Massa, he is on 16 lap tyres and he is just ahead of

Grosjean?, the gap is just 1.8 seconds. A lock up from Fernando

Alonso. Not a big issue to run wider on the

hairpin. Start finish rate, a reasonable length. As they drop

downhill into the first corner. And Fernando Alonso swirling around on

the brakes. Staying out. Grosjean only managed a

bit less on the medium tyres than we were expecting. He has done his two

pit stops and is currently back out again and a set of medium tyres. He

is going to try and get past Felipe Massa as quickly as possible.

You have to be careful. My goodness, this is tight up the

hill and he goes round the outside! That is amazing! That took a

compliant Felipe Massa unsurprisingly, he is nervous of

turn four, bad memories. Great reaction from Grosjean. He

strategically used his KERS as they came out through turn three severely

Paymaster running wide. It shows the value of the new tyres

for Grosjean and he had massive grip through turn three and carried the

momentum, but a brave piece of opportunity on the brakes and a

compliant Felipe Massa gives him the space. What sticks out is the

improvement in form from Romain Grosjean. Recently that would have

resulted in an incident but instead it was great overtaking. They did

not get all four wheels over the white line. They are hot on that

these days. Gutierrez is out. A great shame for the Mexican, who

have problems yesterday. He seems to be having a good run here today but

he is out of the race now. Second pit stop for Mercedes. He did 20

laps on his second set of mediums. Not bad, but not the 30 laps that we

were expecting to see from the teams on the medium compound tyre. Gearbox

failure for Gutierrez. Jenson Button in eighth place is chasing Felipe

Massa. He goes for the move. Inside on the chicane at turn six and

ultimately a straightforward pass. Grip on the brakes as he went past,

and he took full advantage on that. Romain Grosjean still going quickly.

Lewis Hamilton into the pits for his second pit stop. That was a lovely

quick stop. He did 20 laps on the medium compound tyre. Where will he

come out? Behind Mark Webber, I think. That is crucial because Mark

Webber is on a different strategy. Mark Webber still in front with

Fernando Alonso still in front of both of them. Alonso in second, Mark

Webber third, Hamilton fourth, and incomes Felipe Massa. 21 laps on

those tyres for Hamilton. Felipe Massa on his way once more. Where

does this bring him back out? Hulkenberg and Perez just going

through, so intense. -- so in tenth place. The incident involving car

eight, Romain Grosjean going past Felipe Massa, and the stewards are

wondering whether he had four wheels over the white line. You were on it

when you saw that. I have to say that they think he did enough on the

way into the corner and Felipe Massa was quite compliant. The stewards

have a book and we will turn to that page and have a look. That was Mark

Webber having a big mistake! Hamilton nearly got him as a result.

Who lost the rear slightly. Out onto the marbles and his tyres will be

affected. Hamilton loves to raise and overtake at any opportunity. --

to race. Look at that! More grip from those tyres and that was

beautiful, he is passed Mark Webber. Now he has got Alonso in his sights.

That shows you the advantage of the grip. And he used it so sensibly. He

picks his moments to perfection. These guys have had some close calls

in the last few years and Lewis Hamilton knows he to make his move

quickly to have a chance of winning for the fourth time here in Hungary.

He would love to do that and get his first for Mercedes. Alonso was like

a sitting duck on those older tyres. He can't defend too long. In

the DRS zone, of course. Hamilton are much tighter line. Off he goes

to the pit lane. Fernando Alonso for his second stop. Still 35 laps.

Vettel is in and back out. Alonso on his way. Switching to another set of

the medium compound tyre. The same for Fernando Alonso. Coming out

side-by-side with the McLaren, ending up just behind. Can he

benefit from that Caterham upfront? Let's have another look at Romain

Grosjean's pass on Felipe Massa. he go beyond the track boundaries?

So far so good. What that white line. And yes, the white line

clearly defines the race up. A penalty for Romain Grosjean. The

stewards have agreed with our opinion on that. He did go over the

line. As somebody who loves motor racing, I do feel a bit sad. Romain

Grosjean has a drive-through penalty. Yes, penalty. I feel sad

because it was a great piece of either taking. -- overtaking.

himself in that position. All we can ever ask for is consistent

decisions, and if this was Monte Carlo, going beyond the white line

would be a barrier. He would be out of the Grand Prix with a smashed car

in that case. And there was that incident with Jenson Button going

from seconds to fifth. The President is there and they have to stick with

that. -- precedent. It was only a few inches. You have to feel for

Romain Grosjean because he has driven superbly this weekend, as he

did last time out as well. He is on the up in terms of his career. Let's

look at the positions at the moment. Lewis Hamilton leading the race by

1.2 seconds over Mark Webber. Kimi Raikkonen in third. I think Hamilton

will have to make a third stop and Mark Webber has only made one so

far. Drive-through penalty. Why? Please come in at the end of this

lap. They were saying it was the Jenson Button incident, which is

interesting, because we thought it was the Felipe Massa incident.

Prix. The question is whether he can go far enough on this stint? He is

in! I don't think he will go far enough, will he? The used set going

back on, so we still have to run the soft tyres, meaning he has another

pit stop to make which will affect his chance of giving Hamilton a hard

time. It is all over now.He will be quick on the soft tyre, but he comes

back out in third place. Alonso getting past Max Chilton in traffic.

Somebody is off! Just pulled off to the right-hand side the road. It is

Valtteri Bottas, a smoky end for Williams. It has pulled off to the

end of the track. Incomes Romain Grosjean, his final stop. But it is

the fourth time that he has come in because of the drive-through penalty

already in the race. Things not going quite to plan for the French

man and you have to feel for him because he has been driving very

well this weekend. A set of medium compound tyres and he is on his way.

The front one was a bit slow on the axle. Not very much in real terms,

but in Grand Prix racing that costs them sometime. You can see why the

teamwork in the pit stop is absolutely crucial. They managed to

do it in three seconds flat. If they had done it more quickly, it would

have made the difference between getting out in front of the

McLaren. Romain Grosjean is now in seventh. The team said they would be

racing against him and they were not wrong. He has come out behind Jenson

Button but he is on a fresh set of tyres. Listen. 28 laps. We can do

this. They are hoping with the tyres that they will be able to make it

all the way to the end. We will have to wait and see. Will it fall off

the cliff, as they like to say? 33 laps needed to be completed on those

tyres. Let's see if it works for them. I don't think he will be able

to fend off Romain Grosjean for that time. He will have to act now.

Alonso takes his second stop with some new prime tyres going on.

lap 50 out of 70, Hamilton leads by 15 seconds, with Sebastian Vettel in

second. Kimi Raikkonen is in fourth place. Still 31 seconds behind the

race leader. He may have a chance of getting second place. Second place

has got to be his target today and this is Grosjean making a move on

Jenson Button, into turn two, on the inside. Stretch -- fairly

straightforward, taking sixth place. Not a lot of resistance from Jenson

Button so perhaps he is comfortable he is doing his own thing. Hamilton

coming for his final stop now. He has 15.4 seconds over Sebastian

Vettel. A comfortable lead over Kimi Raikkonen. You can see his

opposition, he gets some wheel spin of the concrete surface. 3.2

seconds, the stop. Mark Webber got out in front of

Vettel but has he in off to go round the outside?

Mark Webber gets just on the outside and comes out in second place.

Vettel is ahead, but he is going to have another pit stop. Here comes

Webber! And Hamilton is through.

If Red Bull have any chance of winning this Grand Prix, they need

Mark Webber to back Hamilton up but he did the same thing he did earlier

in the Grand Prix. They have been so quick in that first sector all

weekend, that Mercedes, three times quicker in qualifying. This is the

replay. Look at the extra speed they can carry round the hairpin. Mark

Webber tries to hang in as he went through the corner. He had space,

but not enough. They have been three times quicker

than the Red Bull cars through qualifying on that first sector. A

final pit stop for Sebastian Vettel. This will bring him out behind Kimi

Raikkonen who is on older tyres. He is just coming on to the finish

straight and he will move ahead of Vettel up by the end of the race,

Kimi Raikkonen will have tyres that are more worn out. And that is

Daniel Ricciardo out onto the circuit. He is not a factor in the

top battle here. But another good qualifying performance. And he might

join Sebastian Vettel next year at Red Bull. The race performance of

Toro Rosso has not matched the qualifying performance.

Nico Hulkenberg is a lap down so it should not cost Vettel down -- it

shall not cost Vettel any time. It looks like it four second gap. And

the front stay on the car of Vettel has broken. It is hanging down. It

has been broken and some damage and he might have run wide over a curb

and that could have an effect on allowing the front of the floor to

dip down. It is lapping around. And that is what broke for Grosjean

yesterday in qualifying. There was too much flex in that but he got

away with it. Your car is 30 laps fresher than

his, but he is ahead on the road. That is your target, but first you

have two pass Nico Hulkenberg! That should not take long, a fellow

German, he does get out of the way and Sebastian Vettel is now on the

chase of Kimi Raikkonen who is the other driver that has been mentioned

so much in connection with the seat alongside Sebastien at Red Bull.

This is the race leader, Lewis Hamilton. Out in front of this

race. He has got a 3.2 second lead over Mark Webber but he does not

need to worry because Mark Webber has to make another pit stop so he

has an even bigger lead over Kimi Raikkonen, 9.9 seconds. Mark Webber

into the pits for his soft tyres. He has to put them on at some stage and

has not used them up to now, and let's see where this rings him out.

It should we ahead of Fernando Alonso. -- brings. It is close, he

was 20 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso last time round.

He is ahead of Fernando Alonso. And that is Rosberg. He is out of his

Mercedes. He was in the lower reaches of the top ten and that does

when Pastor Maldonado into 10th position, Williams could be on for

their first point. A smoky end. I wish I had not used the

terminology of earning Rosberg, that engine is on fire. But a burning

Grand Prix car. That is the third for Nico Rosberg

this year, a non-finish. That is a reset. They are both

experiencing the same failure. A setting on their steering wheel.

They going to both suffer the same failure of is that a coded message?

At my time at Red Bull to begin in a message like failed 20, it could be

anything. You just try and reset the system a bit, that could be your

computer. During the Grand Prix, that is often the case. We have not

heard that message on the radio for some time but we know there have

been elegant running issues. And with Mark Webber in qualifying. --

there have been elegant on it running issues. Not once you want to

hear when you are trying to convert third place into second. -- and not

what. Vettel does not seem to have enough

to get past Kimi Raikkonen. An amazing sequence of finishes and if

he finishes second here, he said coming into this event he is fed up

of finishing second in Hungary, he has done it on so many occasions, he

would like another win. He did when once here but a number of second

places for Kimi Raikkonen on this track. -- he did win. He could make

it his best, but he is in trouble and Vettel is in with a chance. And

he runs wide himself. There was not going to be much trans. Kimi

Raikkonen lost so much time, I do not know what happened. Vettel was

on him and another second-place is feeling quite well, now, perhaps. He

would rather have that than third. -- is peeling quite well come now.

-- feeling quite welcome. He is fighting for position, let's look

again. In fairness, that was very late, the

point at which Sebastien was getting alongside Kimi Raikkonen. That is

just wheel to wheel racing. It did not work in this instance.

We go on board with the race leader, Lewis Hamilton.

Lapping Sergio Perez in the McLaren. A lot of people have said he made a

bad decision with regard to McLaren and lapping a McLaren perhaps

enforces he made the right decision in the short-term. We would

discussing before about this great summer of British sport and we have

not had a British winner so far in Formula 1 here.

It looks like Lewis Hamilton is heading for victory, it is his

longest win drought in Formula 1 leading up to this race, ten races

without a victory. He is going to finish it on the same track where he

finished another sequence back in 2009. But Vettel has got this other

run again, he is very quick on that first sector against the Lotus but

it is -- but it is so difficult to convert that into an overtake and

Vettel is running out of opportunities. The Finnish flags are

flying from the thousands of fans who have come to Hungary. -- finish.

And Vettel makes a mistake. A fantastic ride from Kimi

Raikkonen. But I do not think it will be enough, he has backed out

and right can and will get the second-place. -- and Kimi

Raikkonen. And Hamilton wins in Hungary and

takes his first win with Mercedes! It took a while but the first half

of the season concludes with Hamilton taking his first win with

the Mercedes team, joining Sir Stirling Moss as a British driver

driving for Mercedes to take a Grand Prix victory. Well done to Hamilton

who dominated proceedings here today. Kimi Raikkonen in second,

Vettel in third place, but in turns of the World Championship, he is

still in a controlling position. Kimi Raikkonen has stopped by the

side of the road, he has brought the car to a stop on the exit of the pit

lane, fourth place for Mark Webber. Fernando Alonso in this, Grosjean in

sixth. Jenson Button will finish in seventh position. Felipe Massa in

eighth place, and Sergio Perez giving both McLaren drivers points

in ninth, and Pastor Maldonado scores the first point for Williams

in 2013 at last! They have scored a point!

Get in, Lewis, that is good, make! Brilliance, Lewis, brilliant job.

-- brilliant. Good job, good day in the office,

but points. -- good point. Hamilton is a winner,

Kimi Raikkonen fighting to finish for the first time with this

And Hungary is always the place it seems to come together for him.

Massive congratulations, you surprised yourself yesterday with

pole position, you must have shot yourself today!

I have been in a different headspace and concerned if I would be focused

on the job and clearly I was. But I started the race in the most mellow

and relaxed frame of mind. My thoughts were elsewhere at I got in

the car and started the race and was focused and I did the job and I am

glad I can go into the summer break with a win, always the best feeling.

Jenson Button and I have great history together. He put up a fight

on the exit, but he was not too much trouble. I had just come out of the

pits behind these guys. This was the first one, actually. When you passed

Mark Webber. The first or the last? I knew there was space down the

outside, and look, it works. I was surprised. It is not often that

people pass on turn two. You say it does not often happen here, but if

you follow the action and talk as to what happens, you do the same thing

again. I could see that he had a black market in front of him. He was

quick so I had to make sure it stuck. I nailed it. I had so much

grip. I came round the outside. He was late on the throttle and he

bailed out. He was very fair and I hope he is cool about it. That first

move on Jenson Button was vital for the race. It was. When I came out

behind him, I was thinking, darn it, every time I come out in traffic and

Bailey's time. I thought it would affect my race, having a slow lap.

-- and I lose time. Came out of the pit stop and I thought that I had a

chance and they headed to the middle flat out. This has been an eventful

year for you in so many different ways. You looked up to the heavens

when he came off the podium. Is there a huge sense of relief that

you have got this win for Mercedes? There is. I pray every day. My

family have been so supportive. My dad has been calling a lot over the

last couple of weeks. I am grateful for the support for my mum and my

brother as well. The guys are working so hard and I am proud to be

part of this team and see what kind of effort they are putting in. And

the atmosphere. To drive a new car and for it to feel incredible and

where to get a win, the third of the year for the team, I am proud of it.

Your first win for Mercedes was incredible. Thank you. I appreciate

it. Apart from the last few laps, I think once Sebastian got the run on

me. That I overtook, so not to worry. You headed into the summer

brake tied on points, but do you get the feeling you can challenge for

the championship and challenge Sebastian Vettel? We will keep

trying. We got some points, which is positive for today. Any points that

we can gain is always a bonus. great show from Kimi Raikkonen

today, especially at the end of the race because the tyres was shot and

Sebastian Vettel was all over the back of him. Yes, that led up to

some great action on turn four. Sebastian Vettel pulled out, and he

thought he was squeezed out onto the white line by Kimi Raikkonen and he

complained on the radio, but I see that as a racing incident. Romain

Grosjean showed himself to be the fastest race around the track, but

it was an incident packed race for him and it did not work out. Yes.

Here he was clumsy, then he bangs wheels, misses the chicane. That's

just enabled him to get into position with Felipe Massa, at Turf

four. He does make the pass, but it goes beyond the pass. He was

penalised passing Jenson Button. that is what the drive-through

penalty was for? Yes. And there will be investigation into the wheel

banging at the Grand Prix. It was very difficult. I did not have any

space. Romain Grosjean was concentrating only on me, it seems.

But at the end we did not have the pace with the soft or the medium. We

were not quick enough, obviously. July in general, this month, has

been not so good for us. In terms of how competitive we have been this

month. We need to react immediately. Winning three out of four

consecutive races would close any gap and we need to do it. Are you

frustrated with Ferrari? Are you looking to leave and go to Red Bull?

No, I am concentrating on the championship. August is always good

because you have time off. Has your manager been speaking to Red Bull? I

don't think so. Not that you know of? No.Four years without success.

Is managing people have been to see Red Bull, haven't they? There is a

strong suggestion that is the case, but it is not a big surprise,

frankly. He wants to win. Like any driver. Hamilton moved to Mercedes

because of a lack of success. Fernando has to look at his options.

That smile seemed to give it away but that will be the talking point

over the season. One of the talking points. He is committed to Ferrari

for this year. He is a double World Champion of the past and he will

commit everything to this season while looking for the options for

the future. It was quite entertaining with Kimi Raikkonen in

the end. Difficult to get past. Not the best track. A bit like Monaco.

Even though you have one long straight, still it is tricky. Once

it was quite close. It was not the prime overtaking spot, but I was

trying to create something for the next couple of corners. It did not

work. The key issue in the race was when I got stuck behind Jenson. I

don't think there is anybody to blame from a team point of view. I

lost more time than anybody on the first stop because the tyres just

fell apart. Christian Horner joining us now. Some difficulties for the

Red Bull team today. Yes, I mean it was an interesting race. In the end

we got a pretty good result considering the damage to

Sebastian's front wing, and a great recovery for Mark as well. Let's

look at these moments. David? was not a bad start considering the

right-hand side of the grade loses space, typically. Sebastian have to

defend for against Romain Grosjean. He does a good job defending

himself. He gets on the inside. That was the first job done, but

difficult from the dirty side. camera angle is great because it

shows you how close it gets between Sebastian and Romain Grosjean. It is

wheel-to-wheel stuff. You hold your breath at that moment, presumably?

Absolutely. It is close but he did not seem at getting a good start as

well behind. -- you did not see Mark Webber getting a good start as well.

Some damage to the front wing upper flat there. Another angle. Jenson

looks to be leaving the door open, slight contact. How much did that

cost the actual performance? Quite a bit. Eventually Sebastian did get

past, that there is damage to the right-hand side of the front wing.

That's just killed our race, getting stuck behind Jenson and losing so

much time. We lost Lewis and it meant we got into the realms of two

stopping Kimi Raikkonen. At the end of lap one, he was up into tenth

place so a very good drive. Yes, and he had a terrible drive yesterday

and his recovery was fantastic. Going from tenth to fourth, he had

great pace. His first stint ready made the race for him today. We have

heard that Alonso's people have been to see you. Fancy having him?

hear a lot of things these days! The only person I have not heard from is

David? I know when it is over!We will look at what is happening over

the summer hiatus, and have the best team afterwards. Who would be your

favourite? It is difficult to say at the moment. I won't tell you who the

favourite is because I could just tell you who I would sign! We are

not stuck for choice. But do you know? We are getting a clearer

picture and then options pop-up. Like Fernando? We are not in a rush

and we have a great deal of interest and we just want to get it right.

Then we just settled in. It was tricky in the first four laps. Then

I got my head down. We could have got more, but not a huge amount. The

strategy was solid. It seemed like a good save from Mark from tenth.

think so. Not many cars with technical issues. Overall a good

recovery. We talked earlier about the rumour that Fernando Alonso has

spread, so now we can hear from Sebastian Vettel. Do you fancy him

as a team-mate? I prefer Kimi Raikkonen. Why is that?I think... I

have to be careful now. Nothing against Fernando. I respect him as a

driver. I think I respect Kimi Raikkonen on track and off track

because he has always been very straight with me. From that point of

view it might be a bit easier. wheel-to-wheel action which was

awesome. A good battle from eighth to 13th, which I enjoyed. Then

Sebastian tried many times to get past and clipped my rear wheel in to

turn two and likely did not punch. He clipped his wing. And then later

Romain Grosjean. I don't know what he thought. Unless I was on the

grass, we were going to touch and it was inevitable. I don't think he was

thinking at that point. Seven today for Jenson. We saw more of him on

track, which was good, but it was a tough race for Jenson. Yes, that

they think he will be happy to come away with point. It was not the best

qualifier. He is relaxed. The car is not in the place that he would like

it to be, but there is no point wasting energy being frustrated. It

is about optimising what he has got. Romain Grosjean has apologised

to Jenson for that contract smooch, shall we call it? There was not much

alternative. It is a shame that we are celebrating one point for

Williams, a former World Championship winning team. They are

having a difficult season. What can they do next year? OK. Let's check

out the results of the race. Lewis gets his first ever win for Mercedes

and the full 25 points today. Romain Grosjean was sixth, and despite the

22nd penalty for that collision he remains in sixth place. -- 20
