The Bahrain Grand Prix Highlights Formula 1

Previously on a Formula One... My goodness! OK, Felipe, Valtteri is

faster than you. Lewis Hamilton wins in Malaysian! This is Formula One,

race 3: Bahrain. It has been a decade since F1 came

racing in the desert. The crowd in Bahrain have seen Formula One for

the first time. Judging by the noise, they like what they see! The

demand is of extreme temperature and dusty track have always been a test.

This year, something different. As the sun goes down, so willed

advisors. This desert race will play out under lights. -- so will the

visors. Mercedes have dominated this

season's first two races. Nico Rosberg wins the Australian Grand

Prix! Lewis Hamilton wins in Malaysia for Mercedes! But there is

nothing predictable in the new look Formula One. The engine is not

running smoothly. Does he have a problem? Success has always deserted

Lewis and Nico here, but it is not the same story for their main rival.

Yes, baby! Sebastian Vettel wins in Bahrain, back-to-back victories here

at the Sakhir circuit. Will the spotlight stay on Mercedes, or will

the rest come out of the shadows? It is lights on and away we go!

Hello and thanks for joining us for highlights of the tenth Bahrain

Grand Prix. Excuse the voice, a little croaky today, David will be

doing more of the talking! This marks a decade of racing and the

fact that we are racing and lights, but it is a landmark for Jenson

Button. He is celebrating his 250th Grand Prix, a long time since the

young 19-year-old started in Melbourne, and all the teams will be

wearing this in celebration of that. This rather swanky looking T-shirt.

It is no mean feat, only four other drivers have started more. It shows

the skill set that he has had behind the wheel, he understands it so much

more than just being a fast racing driver, truly professional in

preparation, working with sponsors and the media. He is not looking

close to the end at all, he is still a young guy, 34, so a huge day for

him, fantastic to see the whole paddock celebrating. A great track

to celebrate, the drivers seem to enjoy racing here, under lights not

much difference for them? It is a great track for him, he won in 2009.

Drivers tend to join the dots when they are driving, braking, apex,

throttle, and there are enough floodlights for them to enjoy the

race track, they are not enjoying the sunset or the stars above. In

terms of driving under lights, it makes it easier because it is

cooler. They will have to look out for falling temperatures as night

comes in. Exactly, that is one of the biggest temperatures, and tyre

temperatures will be affected. The Pirelli tyres are particularly peaky

in terms of surface temperature. We will see quite a drop-off, as much

as 15 degrees. This is round three in a calendar of 19 races. A few new

events to look out for this year... Nico Rosberg heads the driver

standings after two events, Lewis Hamilton is 18 points adrift. The

two McLaren boys are behind Fernando Alonso.

The Silver Arrows dominates the constructors' table. Red Bull are

currently occupying sixth position. That definitely was not the start of

the season they wanted. No, we know with the regulation change that the

past has no bearing on how the car will go. They have won four straight

World Championships, but the interaction of the sashay and the

power unit is not as good as that of Mercedes and Ferrari. -- chassis.

But the change from where they were in preseason to wear they have

delivered on track has been huge, so much more to come this year. An

interesting weekend, Jean Todt is here, the Ferrari chairman, Luca di

Montezemolo, he is calling for change. The think we will see any

changes? I think it is for very premature for changes to be made on

the basis that someone has done a better job with the regulations! All

the teams were part of the process, they knew the regulations were

changing and that their engine manufacturers would play a large

part in that. We have to acknowledge what a great job Mercedes have done,

and we have to see what flexibility there is from the FIA to allow

Ferrari and Renault to make changes to close the gap. You know, it is

never going to be a case of everyone having the same power or fuel

efficiency, but at the moment the gap is a bit too big. It seems

Mercedes will dominate here, the team will suit their drivers, do you

think? Reflected by their performance in practice and the

first two Grands Prix of the season, interesting to see whether it will

be Nico or Lewis, depending on your personal favourite. They will be

doing a lot of winning this year. It was a desert duel for Mercedes in

qualifying, some surprising was behind front row. Lee McKenzie has

the story of qualifying. Adrian Sutil and Romain Grosjean

went to the stewards for this incident. They found the Lotus

driver was forced into a evasive action, Sutil was given a five place

penalty, which means he starts from the back of the pack. Sebastian

Vettel could not get his Red Bull working properly. He said the car

was not quick enough and did not make the top ten shoot out, ending

up 11. But he makes Daniel Ricciardo had no such problems, not only

making it into Q3, but he put his Renault powered Red Bull into third

place. He does carry a ten place grid penalty from Malaysia after his

unsafe release into the pit lane means he will start from 13. Ferrari

have been struggling throughout the weekend, Fernando Alonso could only

manage tenth after an engine issue. Kimi Raikkonen tried everything,

putting it into sixth, at qualifying his team-mate for the first time.

Williams have been rejuvenated this season, and an impressive lap from

Valtteri Bottas means he qualified on the second row. That left

Mercedes, dominating the weekend, qualifying was no different. A

mistake from Lewis Hamilton meant he abandoned his quick final lap, and

he stuck with second, but team-mate Nico Rosberg had already done enough

to put his Silver Arrow into pole position. So Nico Rosberg takes his

second consecutive pole at the circuit, the first time this year

there has been an all Mercedes front row. Valtteri Bottas moves up to

third, Sergio Perez gives Force India their best qualifying enormous

two years. Kimi Raikkonen is fifth, Button on his 250th race is sixth.

Massa and Magnussen on the fourth row, Alonso and Vettel behind.

Hulkenberg start outside the top ten for the first time in eight races,

rookie Kvyat is 12. Ricciardo's penalty brings out in 30 alongside

former team a Vergne. The two Lotus cars had a tough time, 16th and

17th. Adrian Sutil, with his penalty, starts from the back of the

grid. Just after qualifying, we learned

from Adrian Newey that Sebastian Vettel's problems have started to

occur in that uncharacteristic spin in free practice three. He spun the

car on the exit of turn one leading into two, this is the legacy of them

having some difficulties controlling the amount of torque the cars are

delivering this year. Very uncharacteristic, and stopping in

the gravel, the car overheated, and Adrian Newey explained there was an

issue with the waste gate on the turbo, which apparently cost them a

couple of tenths of a second. There are a couple of drivers who seem to

be misplaced on the grid, this is a place where you can come through.

Nico Hulkenberg, should we be looking out for him? We should

certainly be looking out for him, he was on a lap that would match his

team-mate but ran wide in turn 11. We know he has got great speed, I

would expect him to be moving forward. Look out for Daniel

Ricciardo, picking up a penalty from the previous race. Both Red Bulls

will, in fact, move forward, but Nico Hulkenberg could be the biggest

mover. Tom Clarkson is in the pit lane, what can you tell us about

strategy? Well, Suzi, we are looking between two and three stops, and

which one you choose will depend on traffic and tyre were. Take a look

at this, some corner of a foreign field that is for ever England,

because the asphalt here in Bahrain is made from granite imported from

Shropshire, very abrasive. That causes the drivers problems around

the four or five Corners where they are accelerating from low speed, and

it is easy to spin of the wheels. In extremist, that could force a pit

stop this evening, and the other thing to consider is fuel

consumption. None of these cars will be able to complete the race without

fuel saving, so how and when they do that could be crucial. It is

interesting that last weekend Lewis Hamilton had slightly better fuel

consumption than team-mate Nico Rosberg, and that could prove

crucial this evening. Intriguing stuff, we can hear from the drivers

now. Stunning job in qualifying, sights firmly set on getting onto

the podium in third? Will you get in amongst the Mercedes? I think it is

a factor, the Mercedes is really too quick, but I think if we can put

everything together today we will have a good chance to fight for a

podium. That should be the goal. We saw a few people doing a lot of

starts, anything particular about this track that means you need to

prepare more for this? We did like normal, two starts, normally getting

all the info from those two, it should be OK. This could be a good

night for Williams and at these lights. Yeah, sure, we will see how

the race will go this evening, and definitely it will be better, but

not so easy for the tyres, so I hope we can have good pace, you know, and

the race will be difficult, so many cars on a similar pace. Will it come

down to tyre management? Very important. How will you approach

this Grand Prix? Well, you know yourself it is a long race, a lot of

things can happen, we have got a decent package and should be

competitive in the race. We will be trying to look haired and get a

couple of these guys. Strategy will be interesting, we will see what we

can do. Best of luck. After the performance of the car this week, a

little disappointing to be starting further back, but you must be

confident of moving through the field? Yeah, we have a strong and

quick car, like you say, very encouraging. I just need a good

start, a clean first lap and we will have a strong race. We are aiming to

be well into the points, obviously, it is hard to predict, but we want

to be further up for sure. Yesterday Mercedes were a league above the

scrap, the second row was fascinating, Valtteri Bottas and

Sergio Perez equalling their best ever spot. Can they converted to a

podium? The Bahrain Grand Prix, Lee and Tom in the pit lane, David and

Ben are your commentators. Lights out and away we go, who is it

going to be off the front row? Rosberg trying to cover to Hamilton,

Hamilton on the inside. But as making a good start, but Hamilton

will lead into the first corner, what a crucial getaway for Lewis

Hamilton as Massa makes an excellent start. Massa was the first of the

two Williams, going past errors in the Force India. Riding on board

with Jenson Button, that is the battle up front. Rosberg going

around the outside of Lewis Hamilton, they almost touch! We just

lose sight of them for a moment, but they most managed to get away with

it, Hamilton in front, so crucial to have that advantage. Jenson Button

in the middle of the fight there, riding on board with him. An

incredible display between the two Mercedes, Rosberg testing how kind

his team-mate was going to be, trying to go around the outside

through turn four, and he found out exactly how badly Lewis Hamilton

once the victory. Lock up from Hulkenberg will cost him time, the

Ferrari alongside him, Alonso gets passed, head of Raikkonen. Raikkonen

definitely very slow away, problems for Vergne, he has got a punctured

right rear, there may have been contact with another car.

Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo both trying to make their

progress. Therefore, currently in 11th. Ricciardo is in 12th.

Magnussen is in between the two. He has been passed by Vettel and he has

managed to gain a little edge. Let's listen in. RADIO:

up under attack from Hulkenberg. Getting into position on Alonso.

This is coming in to an overtaking opportunity. We had troubles with

the sound. Rosberg is in second place. Fully be Massa is in third.

Looking at who has gone up two has gone down, Vergne is the big loser.

Back into the pits. It is the second race in a role that he has had

trouble is on the opening lap. And the Frenchman is in difficulty.

TRANSLATION: And do not know who it was. Absolutely mental. Jean-Eric

Vergne, understandably very unhappy with the way things been going. He

had to settle himself and try to get back into this race. Hamilton, just

a second advantage over Nico Rosberg. But behind them, Massa on

track. Both Williams running in the top five, chased by Button.

Sebastian Vettel they are, currently running in 10th position. But he has

not made much ground. Remember, he is on a different tyre to everyone

else. All the others are on soft tyres. Magnussen is behind. Vettel

can see the silver McLaren. And there are still some battling going

on. It seems amazing. There must be a problem with Grosjean's car.

Another pace of the Lotus has not been great but it is surprising to

see him fighting with the other cars. -- I know the pace. They are

so reliant on recoverable energy that if there is any friction, the

system gives in. You are left with the power from the engine alone. It

remains to be seen what the issue is but not where you would expect Lotus

to be, battling with the Mauritius. Alonso and Roz very close together.

-- Rosberg. Applicant was an -- I think it was a fantastic display of

instinctive hunger. Nico Rosberg, sneaking through on the fourth turn,

they might have given him space, we team-mate, but Lewis Hamilton drove

him over. Quite a clear indication. We see that amazing start from fully

paymaster. Getting itself into third place. That is where we expected to

see his team-mate running. But currently, he is running around in

fifth. Kimi Raikkonen got squeezed out by Alonso and I think that is

what he was complaining about. He got a shunt from Alonso. And it

looks like the Red Bulls were going into it as well. Saying, and think

we may be old karting bodies but I want this championship. Massa, on

the left, finding a sponsor down the middle of the racetrack. A bit of a

lock from Perez. All this contact, the might of been contact with the

front wing of Jenson Button. Let's watch Alonso's start with regards to

Raikkonen up ahead. Massa, fantastic of the line. Alonso, trying to spot

gaps. He is going down the middle. Alonso, presumably, gives light in

the squeeze but that looks like he caught him sleeping. Let's watch

Hamilton's start. If Rosberg had had somebody else inside, would he be

more aggressive? You have to not treat your team-mate any

differently. You do not make contact with any car. You could damage your

own. Nicole was brave in Malaysia down the inside, but not quite so

brave there with his team-mate. Here goes for the outside. Some guys have

been able to overtake there but Lewis says, yeah, I am using all of

the road so forget it. Classic racing from both. Another replay.

Can we see any more contact? Ricciardo, being pushed over the

curb. And there was contact on the inside of the curb. That was

Magnussen and Raikkonen. He might have damaged the underside of his

car. I think Raikkonen was complaining about Magnussen rather

than his team-mate. It seems like a fair comment. You are utterly right.

Mercedes, beginning to pull away. Hulkenberg has got past Alonso. Just

getting past him. Raikkonen next, chased by Vettel and Magnussen.

Daniil Kvyat complaining that he has too much from blocking with his car.

Hulkenberg, not only does he have a straight line advantage... RADIO:

you are saving more fuel than your team-mate. Continue to savour. It is

almost as easy to see Lewis or Hamilton as it is to say, your

team-mate, but it shows you that all but they try to create between

themselves. This was Hulkenberg. I was going to say that he had more

straight-line speed than Alonso anyway. He said he did not have the

power and that was the problem in qualifying. They changed the exhaust

manifold overnight. What have you got for us, Tom? It was very

difficult to see from the replays, the amount of damage to either

Jenson Button's car or Kevin Magnussen. But McLaren are equally

worried. Have seen their chief race engineer heading into the garage,

looking concerned. They are equally anxious. A little luck from

Sebastian Vettel and Ricciardo. He locks the rear, and he cannot hold

the car. And he may lose another place if he is not careful. They do

not think that Daniil Kvyat will get him but he might because he has the

momentum. Then the inside he goes. Is he going to get past the Daniel

Ricciardo? And is a little bit of caution there, I think. Ricciardo

holds on. Which are driving from this inexperienced driver. There was

an opportunity. -- mature driving. There was some risk, that he could

have T-bone and the card. But he had a goal. He knows he is struggling.

-- t-boned the car. But look how far back you came from. He went for the

element of surprise and ultimately ended up scaring himself. Good

awareness from Magnussen, we read that the car was on his inside.

Managing to stay out wide and given space. Sutil of the other car, --

was the other car on the medium tyres. Switching now too soft tyres.

I wonder if Sebastian Vettel me coming soon to do the same? -- may

come in soon. Certainly, we will have to wait to see what these guys

do. Two stops or three stops? Vettel, and therefore the moment,

chasing the Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen. -- out there for the

moment. Still side-by-side but Bottas fights off Button. He shows

him how to do it a Button, in his 250th Grand Prix. This is crucial.

These guys were Evelyn Matthei in qualifying but Sergio Perez has

passed the Williams and takes advantage of Button's initial

movement. In the beginning, he was almost too compliant. It was

Hulkenberg, sorry! Button left the door open. And then he decided he

could fight for it and in doing so, he made himself slower. Maybe some

inexperience from Bottas. Massa is the leader of the two Williams.

Let's look at how this began. Hulkenberg in the background. Look

at the brake dust coming off. Button, he may be 250 Grand Prix

old, but he is still willing to have a go. And then Button takes the

line. That affects his drive. You can see a little wobble as he tries

to put the traction down. Vettel, chasing Raikkonen. RADIO:

Perez is going to take the place. Credit where it is due. A fantastic

performance this weekend. That was from a long way back! He could have

ended in tears. And it came good. Sergio Perez had a strong race here

last year. One of his best races. But he has shown tremendous form

this weekend. A feisty drive. He had a terrible start to the season. This

is the running to turn 11. He does not manage it and then the replay of

coming back around the inside. That allows him to pick his line. A

wonderful coroner around the back of the circuit. And this was her Perez

got past. And it was textbook. -- how Perez. Massa tries to see if he

can hang in there but it is all over. Adrian Sutil is pulling over.

It has been a miserable weekend for him. He is missing something on his

rear tyre. There is no marking. As he rubbed up on something? That is

unusual. Normally the markings are clearly displayed. But not from the

side. It was black sidewall only. Was the contact? Let's take a look.

Side-by-side with Bianchi. That was a great spot. I have a 5-year-old

and they do a lot of colouring in. That was after, the Marussia got

damage. Bianchi lost control and smacked into the side. Sutil already

had a penalty this weekend. Expect to see him up at the stewards again.

The Mercedes leaving the Grand Prix by a -- leading the Grand Prix by a

country mile. RADIO: Sebastian, lets Daniel go through, please. He is

quicker than you. Please let him by. That was interesting. A very cool

Daniel Ricciardo asking for something to be done. That is what

the team wanted, someone who is not scared to say what he thinks. They

want someone who has got hunger and fire. Delivered with a calm head.

Let me go, I am faster. The tyre was changed on Bianchi's car and he is

on his way again. Side-by-side, yes, we are looking at the battle.

Rosberg has got past Hamilton. No, he hasn't! Wonderful racing. Not

only did he retake it, that is an equivalent of a slap in the face,

cutting across the front wing of Rosberg. They have to bring Hamilton

in the slap. He has got near to the end of the light of these tyres. If

they do not bring him in first, he is going to be frustrated. Are they

going to be sticking to a similar pit stop strategy? Rosberg seems to

be making his tyres gold that bit further. This is what we want to

see. Two top team-mates being allowed to fight each other. That is

what we're seeing. They were very close to touching. RADIO:

Rosberg. That was close to contact. And although the expression. -- I

don't know the expression. This is another replay. The PRS was in

operation. In fact, this is him having another go now. He has locked

up but has he got in front? Yes, no? Hamilton cannot fend him off.

Rosberg has got past. Rosberg takes the lead but will he keep it? He

moves inside. Over the dirt and dust. Hamilton will try to go around

the outside and cut back on the exit. This is amazing racing between

the two Mercedes team-mates. Side-by-side. Hamilton retakes the

place, retaking the lead. And there is nothing to choose between them.

That is how hungry they both our. This is brilliant! Rosberg throwing

everything at him, but he got on the dirt, and that is probably why he

did not have the grip at the next corner, and the driver has to think

about so many things in a battle like this and still have to look

after their tyres. They are 35 seconds ahead of anyone else, they

don't have to worry about being caught by the opposition. This is

not looking at the tyres, this is looking after the man behind the

steering wheel. I wonder how Toto Wolff and Paddy Lowe will feel now!

This is what they live for, it is not just having the fastest racing

car, they want to see racing. Rosberg is in better shape on his

fuel. Hamilton coming in this lap. First pit stop, crucial, the new

tyre will be worth a lot, and it will be difficult for Rosberg to

come out when he makes his pit stop. Let's watch the stock, it is

crucial, every 100th could make a difference. It is a lovely, lovely

stop for Lewis Hamilton, on his way once again with the new tyres, so he

will be very fast on his next lap. Using the RS, push hard now for two

laps, then we go to prime tyre, alternative strategy. -- using DRS.

This is going to be interesting, we will not know how it will work out

until towards the end of the Grand Prix. Take another look at... This

is darts a moment ago going past Fernando Alonso into sixth

position. -- Perez. Is he going to be switching on to the medium

compound, Rosberg? That is what we think from the writing on the side

wall, let's take a look. It is indeed, so a completely different

strategy for Rosberg, he would be harder tyre on earlier in the race,

and that will make life exciting. Two tenths slower on the pit stop,

Hamilton will be a head, watch him on the right, the gap has opened

up. But they are on different strategies. The gap between them

will open up on this next lap, because according to Pirelli the new

softer versus the new medium, the difference is about 1.1 seconds on

that first lap. We know Nico Rosberg will lose now, but the gap will

stabilise, so he is going to drop back quite a lot during this next

stint. Riding on board with Sebastian Vettel, he is behind Kimi

Raikkonen here on the soft tyre, both of them on the soft tyre, but

this is a relatively new set. As the in battle, so he should be in better

shape with his tyres. -- a relatively new set for Sebastian

Vettel. Ferrari losing a bit of time through turn four. This will be a

long stint on the prime tyres. A long stint, that is uprising, they

obviously feel it is going to give them some pretty good performance.

-- that is surprising. The cooler conditions will come into play as

the track rubbers in. That will reduce the gap between the prime and

option. Such a lead that Mercedes Grand Prix have, they could take

their pit stops and still come out in first and second place. Two

things about splitting strategy - one, it states pressure of the

debrief afterwards, because you do not have like-for-like racing, and

there will be tension between the two drivers. The team have been

fantastic in allowing them to go wheel to wheel, but if this finishes

up with Lewis winning the Grand Prix, and that is a big if with a

long way to go, but if it does, expect knee go to be somewhat frosty

with his old buddy. -- Nico. It is always going to be a great area,

looking at the fuel use, certainly Vettel right on the limit of what he

can use. This is the reverse of last week, when you add Bottas being

told, saying, I am faster than my team-mate. It shows what difference

a week can make, having your car working for you, Massa faster than

Bottas, and I would not be surprised if he has a radio message, come on,

we are being pushed by Hulkenberg and Perez, let me go. This is into

turn 12, where he passed the McLaren in winter testing. 13 is too long,

much tighter in the apex, a better drive off the corner, so will you

try to make a pass into the last turn or wait for the DRS? Down the

inside goes Sebastian Vettel, outbreak in the Ferrari, I am not

sure Kimi Raikkonen was expecting that. Massa and Bottas almost

touching, I am not sure what is going on there! The Force India will

come back at them. Williams versus Force India, this is for third

place, very different to what we have seen in recent years,

particularly from Williams. Force India have had some good results

here, Paul di Resta was a fine for here last season, but they will have

to cope with the Williams today. What a performance from Force India

and Williams, Williams at the World Championships in their DNA, but

Force India, a small privateer team based at Silverstone. Great stuff,

isn't it? It is 11 years to the day that Jordan, which was the origins

of the Force India team, 11 years... Never heard of them! 11

years since they took their last victory, I wonder if the anniversary

will provide them with a special result. I would like to box now if

possible. Gosh. Very early. Three stops if he is. Relatively early

even for three stops, he will have to do a long stint somewhere along

the line, maybe the harder tyre will serve him better. Our Williams

getting ready? I cannot see the Williams boys. That has not been

accepted. He is coming in, the team will have to get out in the pit

lane, they are not out yet! Hulkenberg has the DRS on Massa,

Hulkenberg moves to the outside, and Perez is trapped in behind ready to

pick up the pieces if anything goes wrong. Hulkenberg qualified much

further back than Perez, he ended up losing out, Massa knows he is

there. Hulkenberg goes to the inside, almost over the white line,

but he will lose momentum. Watch Perez. They will be side by side,

team-mates battling again, Perez gets past Hulkenberg, because

Hulkenberg tried so hard to get past the Williams. They actually touched,

with his team-mate Jenson Button last year, so Hulkenberg had to go

for it here, questionable whether Massa made a double move to defend

and then again, forcing Hulkenberg momentarily off the circuit.

This is great stuff, isn't it? Early and racing, DRS in operation for

both Force Indias as Massa wonders which of them will attack him next.

-- -- brilliant racing. This is where Hulkenberg made a mistake in

qualifying, he keeps it is nice and neat now. Remind ourselves,

Hulkenberg came from 11 on the grid. Perez was on the second row, so a

strong drive by Hulkenberg, but he will be furious he lost that

position, it could be crucial. He did not leave a space there, he

pushed me right off. That is a reference to Massa. Jenson Button

was upset with Sergio Perez last year, remember that little incident

when Perez ran into Button at turn four. We are riding with Daniel

Ricciardo. He is on the harder tyres. DRS is not working. A couple

of drivers are reporting that today, Button is in seventh. Look at the

oversteer on Raikkonen off the high-speed chicane of seven. Alonso

had a DRS failure, the wing jammed open completely. I wonder what it

is, maybe it is the sand in the environment that gives them

difficulties. They have to run slightly different air filters for

the engines and the like, more dusty in this environment. Maybe that is

the answer, but Daniel Ricciardo has not found a way past Raikkonen yet.

Vettel is ahead of them, so although Vettel allowed Ricciardo through

earlier, because of the earlier pit stop, it really gains you track

position. He may end up paying a price later in the race. Watching

the race upfront between Hamilton and Rosberg, Hamilton is two tense

quicker, less than I would expect from the difference in tyres, and

now this is a question of whether Hamilton can preserve the option

tyres to go along enough... Massa goes defensive on Perez. A very

deliberate line of the Force India, trying to turn in wide and lay down

the street possible. He has locked up! Meanwhile, an attack on Massa

from Perez. Is he going to have a look at getting alongside him?

Hulkenberg is right behind him, Perez side by side with Massa, and

Sergio Perez driving out of his skin this weekend, and Hulkenberg has got

the chance to nip past the Williams as well here. But Sergio Augero is

fought for that. Does Hulkenberg have the power to outright the

Williams? Ears on the outside down to turn nine, good clean racing. --

he is. He gets sideways on the exit, that has cost and speed, and the

Massa will come back at him towards turn 11. But Hulkenberg can just

bend him off. Who said this was taxi driving?! This is racing! This

circuit, in its tenth ear, has given us some great battles, none better

than we are seeing right now, this is a circuit where they are few will

limited as well. This is Ricciardo, DRS wide-open, mocks the front left.

He would be thinking, oh, no, did they brush wheels? That was so

close. Raikkonen was presumably aware. Look at this again. Having a

glance in his mirror as he leaves the door open to avoid contact.

Working at the wheel through turn two, that will have flat spotted his

front left, Daniel Ricciardo. Look at that! How close do you want to

be? I think Ricciardo can go over to Kimi and say, thanks, mate, I needed

that space. This is the replay of how Perez got past Massa. This move

has worked for him so many times on this circuit, he straightens the car

on the exit of four and get a massive drive through five into the

high-speed chicane. Tom. I think the fuel figures are fascinating,

talking about the Mercedes drivers, both have used about 50% available,

and they are going to use less fuel in the second half of the race as

the car gets lighter. Bottas trying to go past Ricciardo, he suddenly

shot off there! I am not quite sure what happened. We will get a replay

of that and be able to dissect it. He was on the attack, he had DRS, he

was side by side with Ricciardo. I think Ricciardo did not move over

particularly. OK, does he put a wheel on the white line? He took

avoiding action, almost looking like he was going to run into the back of

the Ferrari, he got off the brakes. What was he doing?! Let me know what

he did, we will get straight onto Charlie. No, watch your television,

he's not talking about the Red Bull, he is talking about the Ferrari!

Kimi braking caught him out. Lewis, you are safe on fuel, no more lift

and ghost. I heard you, looking after the tyres! He is being very

cautious, he knows he is in a race, Sergio Perez coming in on this lap

from third place. Remember, a very interesting tussle between the two

Force India team mates, Perez currently third, Hulkenberg in

fourth place, 1.5 seconds behind him. Button is now in fifth place,

Vettel sixth, Ricciardo seventh, and it looks as if the top seven cars in

this Grand Prix are trying to do it on two stops. Massa, I think, will

be on a three-stop race, he is trying to get past Ricciardo. Felipe

Massa in ninth place currently. This should be the opportunity to get

past the Red Bull. His team-mates did the same last time, is it just

as easy? DRS open, and again he just drives past the Red Bull. Nothing

Ricciardo can do about it. We expect the Williams to have to make another

pit stop. Ricciardo may be trying to go to the end. Outcomes Perez, where

does he come out? Just behind Alonso. In an deal with the Ferrari

Wycliffe. -- I wonder if he can deal with the Ferraris quickly. He will

deal with the fresh tyres. As they burn fuel, because it more

responsive. He is going to try to make a quickly. They know they have

more drive and talk. -- torque. Here is a play of the pit stop. It looks

quite slow. Was there an issue with the left rear? Taking no chances. A

ten place penalty for Ricciardo this week. Perez, trying to line up

Alonso. It is easy for him with that speed. That shows you what

but he has come off. Kobayashi is leading the Caterham Marussia battle

by a big margin. Into the pits has come Button and Hulkenberg. Where

does Hulkenberg come back out? Lets see where he is. Alonso was close

behind. McLaren in there with the force Indians. -- Force India two.

We expect them to go to the end of the Grand Prix now on these tyres.

The battle between the race leader and his team-mate, Vettel mixing it

up with Magnussen, in a clean run out of turn two, but it seems to me

that Hamilton has this in the back. -- in the bag. We assume that the

prime tyres are working well for Hamilton. Maldonado was in ninth. He

has only done the one stop. Surrounded by cars that have done

two. But currently, he is in a point position. Under attack by Sebastian

Vettel. There is no space, so the next area is the PRS area up ahead.

Both Renault powered. Making it look easy. On a fresh attire and a faster

car. The Lotuses undeveloped. Sebastian Vettel gave us the message

that the PRS was not working. But clearly, it is open now. Eriksson

has reported that he has lost power, which is the reason for him pulling

over. We have lost the other Sauber, of Adrian Sutil. I'm not sure what

the flag is for. It may just be Eriksson's car. And think it is just

the area where he stopped. No overtaking in that area. But they

can get back on it as they exit. Vettel coming through in ninth and

Maldonado, and behind him, Raikkonen and Ricciardo, tussling. Still no

way past for the Red Bull. Perez, more than a second faster than Massa

last lap. Ricciardo, trying round the outside in turn four. Raikkonen

has got in there. Lovely from Ricciardo, finally getting past the

Ferrari. It is on the corners, not the straight line that he achieves

it. The Ferrari looked terrible on that fourth turn. Raikkonen...

Ricciardo, excuse me, hooking it up around that exit. Magnussen having a

quiet run. Getting a great exit. He has done 16 laps on those tyres. You

can see the difference. Some helicopter tape hanging off the back

of the car of Daniel Ricciardo. It tends to put helicopter tape across

the joints on the engine cover, just to improve the aerodynamics. On

board with fully paymaster. Massa and his team-mate, together again.

Bottas has locked up again. You can hear the short shifting as they try

to control the talk. -- torque. But Bottas has had to work hard this

afternoon. A bit of a reversal. Bottas always looked like the faster

of the two Williams but now he seems to be struggling. But he has track

position and his team is very much nervous of giving any instruction to

the two drivers after what happened last week. This is Ricciardo when he

made that move. Good stuff. Watch Raikkonen on the apex. He has a bit

of a wiggle and he tries to get the throttle open. It highlights the

difficulty that they are having as Alonso gets passed. Converter can go

after his team-mate. RADIO: at the end, Sebastian, you will be under

pressure. Under pressure from the likes of Massa and Bottas. Vettel is

currently in eighth but he may struggle to carry on to that. Ten

seconds behind this pair. Massa has had three stops... We have had a

shunt. It must be Gutierrez. This might be a safety car. They will not

push that away. It must be a safety car. Only the second time in Bahrain

race history. He has gone over. That car has flipped, I would suggest. We

will get the replay but you do not knock your camera off. The driver,

his head was moving around. Let's wait and see. Hopefully, he is just

shaken. We gather it rolled. A lot of debris. I'm sure you are right

about the safety car. It looks like the exit of the corner. The driver

is in the car and the yellow-flagged is out. We need a medical card they

are to error on the side of safety. He is getting out. Fantastic to

see. The Mexican, Gutierrez, in his second year of Formula 1. Let's look

and see what happened. Was he exiting the pits? He was on the

outside and the other car was coming out. And they just did not see each

other. What was that! He did not even know it was there. Pastor

Maldonado. My goodness. David, a new nose on the Formula 1 car, would

that have contributed? Or would this have happened at any situation? Good

question. Want to get my vision back... The reason of the loan nose

is to stop that nose going into high. Maybe that is a good thing.

Meanwhile, Hamilton and Rosberg have taken the stocks and the safety car

is out. A lot of damage done. Kevin Magnussen has pulled over to the

side of the track. It looks like it is his first non-finish in Formula

1. The green light indicates that the car is safe from an electrical

point of view. They have different lights on top. Kevin Magnussen,

getting out. Jamie Raikkonen has come into the pits during this. Just

about everybody is making their final pits pop -- pit stop. Kevin

Magnussen clambering out of the cockpit, his first retirement. Let's

look at Hamilton's pit stop will stop --. Did the double stack? You

wait to see the other car coming. Nine seconds behind on the road.

They were reacting to the possibility of a safety car. Lovely

call. The strategy is spot on. RADIO: Lewis, it is Paddy. With ten

laps left, let's make sure we bring both cars home. An interesting

comment from Paddy Lowe. The man who has taken over the role from Ross

Brawn, of being the senior man on the radio to tell the boys to behave

themselves. I'd doubt that Lewis will respond well to that

instruction. To suggest it is in his hands whether the cars come home or

not, it takes two to tango. Force India, lined up for an amazing

result if they can stay where they are. Their best ever results, second

place in 2009 for Jazz Carlin physicality. Wonder how it is going

to be -- and wonder how it is going to be for them. It is Paddy here.

Ten laps left to race. Let's make sure we bring both cars home. The

safety car will be coming in on this lap and we will have ten laps to

decide the outcome of the 2014 Bahrain Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton

and Nico Rosberg on different tyres. They have both been in for their

final pit stop -- pits spot -- pits stop. Hamilton is opening the gap to

the safety car. He wants to make a brake. Lewis Hamilton gets on the

gas. Sliding through the last corner. Changed immediately by Nico

Rosberg. They have both been told to keep these cars in one piece and get

them to the chequered flag. In the background, the Force Indias

side-by-side. Hulkenberg on the outside of Perez. Perez squeezes him

out. A very aggressively. Button will feel that. He will be trying to

take advantage but he has his own problems. The two Mercedes are

side-by-side once again. Hamilton and Rosberg. Rosberg tries to go

around the outside but can he do it?! No. Rosberg, with the softer

tyre. Perez in third, Hulkenberg in fourth. All of them can see the

leaders ahead. To give them that extra spice, to see what they can

get out of this Grand Prix. Ricciardo will not just sits behind

his team-mate. Therefore has a chance. -- Vettel has a chance. Ten

seconds for Pastor mother Naldo. -- Pastor Maldonado. Vettel is through.

Another chance for Ricciardo. Bottom loses the place. He is down in sixth

with Ricciardo chasing. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez is in third and

Ricciardo gets passed Button as well. Absolutely nothing Button can

do to prevent the Red Bulls. It is a replay of the winter testing. Up

front, still Hamilton and Rosberg. Nobody has to worry about fuel. The

safety car has been on track. No concerns about fuel consumption. It

is flat out to the flag. No doubt that Rosberg is settling in behind

Hamilton, looking for any opportunity. Hamilton looks in his

mirrors but Rosberg is biding his time. In the background, the

Williams are making a move. Down the inside of Jenson Button, Button is

dropping further and further behind. Bottas will try to get past him now.

He was trying to hold it, holding the inside line. RADIO: I have lost

power. Hamilton is reporting a lack of power. Bottas is passing Button

on the exit of turn four. The Ferraris are turning up above behind

the McLarens. Alonso was right behind. Kimi Raikkonen and Daniil

Kvyat, who took a big lunch. Good avoiding action. It is fraught in

the deserts of Bahrain, under the floodlights. It is turning out to be

an amazing race. Perez is in third. Hulkenberg under pressure from

Vettel. Alonso, moving past. Not moving past Jenson Button. Jenson

Button could not make it. On the exit of turn ten,

Button could not make it. On the is on the charge. Looking for

another Toro Rosso points finish. Hamilton under pressure. TRS will be

available. Has there been an incident further down the field?

Alonso looking at the McLaren again. They have to be wary of the yellows

but they think they have been withdrawn. Hamilton is still

leading. Rosberg, the gap was 0.9 seconds as they went over the line.

Crucially, Hamilton was quicker than Rosberg that lap. It must've been a

Rosberg mistake in the last sector. Hamilton has the fastest lap because

of that, one: 37.3, four seconds of qualifying. But it is still

important. The PRS is now enabled, but will it give Rosberg more of a

chance to close the gap? They are pretty much even Stevens through the

first sector as we keep an eye on the Ferraris. And also the Toro

Rosso. What an opportunity this is for Daniel Kvyat to go racing

against two world champions. Sebastian Vettel is a little bit

further up, trying to get as Hulkenberg. A huge lock-up through

turn nine. This is where the action is at the moment, Ricciardo will not

give up on getting past his team-mates, but the Williams cars

are not making the sort of ground I expected. Rosberg quicker in that

middle sector than Hamilton. He is going to be in the DRS zone. That is

what Rosberg is hoping for, use the DRS and close upon him. The battle

for fourth two place, how they use energy recovery is crucial at this

time. -- the battle for fourth place. Once again, Hamilton is a

full four tenths faster in this sector, that might be the saving

position for him. Ricciardo down the inside of Vettel, I think he will

make the move stick, he passes his world champion team-mate into gear.

They said the Red Bull had less downforce, he knew we had the

penalty, but Vettel coming back. Ricciardo goes defensive, will

Vettel go around the outside? They would expect a bit more room to be

given by Ricciardo than we saw with Hamilton and Rosberg, but he does

have the faster car in a straight line, but that means less downforce

in the corners. Ricciardo has got itself in front of Vettel, and he

will be delighted about that, Vettel chased by Felipe Massa. Rosberg, a

good first sector, as he tries to close the gap to Lewis Hamilton.

This is going to go all the way to the chequered flag. A lock-up for

Sebastian Vettel, Surrey, for Ricciardo this time as he attacks

Nico Hulkenberg. Nico Hulkenberg dropping away from his team-mate,

but Force India running third and fourth head of the Red Bulls, the

Ferraris. This is the pass down into turn one, Vettel goes defensive,

Ricciardo carries more speed, less downforce. He was set up for

qualifying. Looking back, team radio. I am really slow down the

straight! I am losing a lot. We have just seen the replay of Alonso going

past Button, and we gather Hulkenberg has been told his energy

store, which is the battery pack that stores electrical energy, is

low. Whether they have got some sort of ERS problem, he does seem to be

down on the pace had earlier in the race. Yes, running slower than his

team-mate, half a second on the last lap. This is the downside of this

new, complex Formula One - we do not know if we are seeing man-to-man

racing, or are they dealing with an issue with the car? You can see how

slow convert was, giving his team-mates some breathing space. --

how slow Hulkenberg was. Six tenths of a second between Hamilton and

Rosberg. A chance for Vettel up the inside of Ricciardo, I do not think

he will be able to out drag him. All of these battles between team-mates,

someone is going to put a wheel wrong at some point, but so far so

good as Vettel tries to reclaim the spot. Hulkenberg is doing a real

defensive job and he has more power than these two. The Williams are now

catching, so this is where William needs to make their move. They have

got to be disappointed with where they are, Massa and Bottas, they

were looking at a potential podium finish, but they need to do some

overtaking. Rosberg will be closer than at any other time when he comes

across the line. We are not seeing that battle. I can tell you that

Rosberg did not look close enough to challenge on this lap. He is having

a go! He is having a go from a long way back, Rosberg side by side with

Hamilton once again, but Hamilton just able to fend them off. It is

not over, he has got a good exit, turn four, he moved to the outside,

Hamilton hangs him out to dry every time. Hamilton will again squeeze

him over the white line! Oh, my goodness, don't touch! They are so

close, but they get away with it! They were told to bring the cars

back in one piece, and if they carry on like this, it might not happen.

Rosberg still on the charge. He is on the better tyre in the same car,

he has a lot of anger in his belly. I do not see how Hamilton can hold

this. Amazing watching him drive, changing the brake balance between

corners, we see it so often, but when they are in the middle of a

dice like that, the control and thought processes! He is having a

look at the inside, but that is the other DRS zone, a tough place to

overtake. It is possible but not easy. Wheel to wheel racing, 3.5

seconds per lap faster than the opposition! This is the first time

we have seen them in real race conditions having to go flat out

because they are racing each other, and they are three seconds faster

than the field. You would expect to seem like having a go with the DRS

into turn one, or will he try another strategy, leave Hamilton in

turn one and get the run into four? Here we go, DRS open, five laps to

go. Rosberg has got to find something different here, Hamilton

defence, down the inside but deep surely. He still gets into the

corner, and Hamilton cuts back again! Well, Hamilton read that

beautifully, he is such an instinctive racer, but again he's

going to have to defend here, because Rosberg has got the outside

line. Can he come back on the exit? Hamilton is not go to letting do

that, I don't think. This is wonderful! I do not know how

Hamilton is doing this, keeping Rosberg behind! You saw Hamilton, is

red light flashing into turn four, saying he was getting a reduction in

the acceleration on that straight. That is a message to Rosberg. Not

exactly a brake light, it is do with when the car is gathering energy,

and it can just lose a bit of straight-line speed and force the

driver behind. DRS available once again for Rosberg, but he does not

drive. He put a wheel on the kerb, that may have cost him a fraction,

but he is still close by. I wonder what would be happening if Ross

Brawn was still there. Would he be on the radio more than Paddy Lowe?

That is the senior management, Toto Wolff, Paddy Lowe. The two best

strikers in Formula One right at this stage, you have to say, because

they have got the best cars, but they are being allowed to race

against each other, and that is what we are thoroughly enjoy. This lap, a

bit further back, Hamilton still fending off Rosberg. Everybody

getting behind this confrontation. Two drivers who have known each

other for so long. Ricciardo, did he make a move on Hulkenberg?

Hulkenberg has been struggling, and I think Ricciardo has made the move

into fourth place, yes. Ricciardo, half a second faster. At that rate,

he will not close honours. Excellent job, keep doing what you're doing,

brokers. Getting on the full to Sergio Perez saying, do this, we can

get a podium position, and for Force India that would just be immense, a

massive result if they can achieve that. And it is looking good so far.

Hulkenberg is the one in trouble, he has got a problem with that car, and

he is desperately trying to defend from Vettel, Massa, Bottas, Alonso,

Raikkonen is tense, Button is out of the points in 11. Is he going very

slowly, Jenson Button? P11 he was, he has dropped to 13 the already as

Grosjean has gone past. Oh, he is coming to a halt, so we have lost

both McLarens, my goodness, what a long time it has been since two

McLarens failed to finish, although it did happen here at Bahrain in the

past with both cars going out on the same day. But it is very unusual in

modern Formula One, as Massa now goes on the attack with Sebastian

Vettel, who goes a little bit too deep into turn one. But there is no

way through just yet. He will have the run through three and into four,

Vettel will have to go defensive. He is on the sand and the dust, and he

goes down the inside, and Massa has got past Sebastian Vettel! Vettel

will come back at him on the exit and retakes it. Erect that

perfectly, squeezed Massa as much as he could. -- he read that

perfectly. Fantastic racing this afternoon. Everybody said the new

rules would turn it into an economy drive, but we have not seen that at

all - we have seen drivers going for it hard, overtaking, being passed,

and now Alonso catching the two Williams, which have not shown the

pace that we were expecting in this latter part of the Grand Prix.

Button retires, a sad way to end his 250th Grand Prix. That is the way it

goes sometimes, the team has a remarkable finishing record. I have

to say, that is very sad indeed. But they will pick themselves up again,

I am sure. We are on to the final lap now, and Rosberg is not quite

there with Lewis Hamilton. I can tell you there is one second between

them as they go over the line, and it looks like Lewis Hamilton has

done enough. Unless he makes a mistake, it does not look like

Rosberg has an answer for him. He has tried everything, but this is

Lewis Hamilton at his very best, and when he is at his best, he is

arguably the best driver in Formula One right now. Sebastian Vettel

still trying to keep Massa and Bottas behind him, then Alonso,

Raikkonen with his team-mate. Some team formations going on, Hulkenberg

is the one who has not been able to keep that team formation, because he

got a problem. I wonder if Williams are allowing their guys to race,

because Bottas will use this last lap to try to get as his team-mate.

Massa using a lot of road, he has lost a fair bit of grip there. And

we have also got the battle going on between Perez and Ricciardo, that is

how much Ricciardo has managed to catch over the last lap also. Perez

should just about have enough in hand, hoping to get that podium

finish for Force India. What a result it would be, but Lewis

Hamilton is on the penultimate straight here, coming up towards the

last two corners, and I think that Lewis Hamilton has done enough,

despite the best intent is of Rosberg. Lewis Hamilton wins the

Bahrain Grand Prix! It is a one -to finish for Mercedes once again,

back-to-back victories within a week for Lewis Hamilton, his first win in

Bahrain, and his 24th career victory to match Juan Manuel Fangio. Who

will finish third, it is going to be Sergio Perez for Force India, I

think. Daniel Ricciardo trying his utmost, but Sergio Perez brings

Force India a podium finish, fantastic for them! The last time

they did that, the only time they did that, was 2009. Hulkenberg

fifth, Vettel sixth. Then Massa, Bottas, the two Ferraris finishing

ninth and tenth. It looks like Daniil Kvyat finishes in 11th,

Grosjean in 12th for Lotus, and Max Chilton will get 13th place, another

13th place, and that will put Marussia back ahead of Caterham in

the seesaw battle that is going on between them. The fireworks go off

here, but the fireworks were throughout that Grand Prix. Nice

work there, Lewis, you had us all going for a minute, mate! Fantastic

job, guys. Thanks. Absolutely fantastic performance. Look at that,

the first time he has received the trophy in Bahrain, the first time he

has won here, putting the Malaysians bogey behind him last week and this

week, two tracks he had previously not won, he has conquered them both

in style, and for Force India, what an achievement this is. Well, three

wins out of the first three races for one manufacturer, it has not

been done since 2006 when Renault were the team to beat. Right now it

is very hard to see anyone challenging Mercedes' domination.

What a glorious win today, I think I saw you whisper wow on the podium,

how would you describe that race? It was unreal today, one of the most

difficult races I have had for a long time. I got that gap, and then

the safety car come out, and I thought, I could not believe it, you

know. I knew that he was on the options, he had a good half a second

on me, and he has been quicker generally throughout from qualifying

until now. He was quicker, so I had to pull out all the stops, you

know, position the car the right way to get back. I feel so blessed, the

team have done an incredible job. Back to the start, let's have a look

at that. This was classic Lewis on the run down to the first corner,

can you recall what you were thinking? Don't brake early!

That is a point I have been trying to improve on this year, the first

corner attacking, not locking up, and I think in the past here, I got

a good pull away, but his second part was a little bit better than

mine. I kept the steering wheel straight, he knew I was there. It

was just about who breaks later? Super tight at the first corner.

Really tight, I used all the road. Generally, this race I really

struggled, I did not have the pace, the grip. You can see here that he

had done a better job. You cannot come around me on the outside, that

is a no-go! Is one thing you show this weekend, nobody was getting an

easy pass. That was the feeling I heard. I was

not letting this go. Adept and I wanted it so bad. Cannot remember

having that fire. Where have you found that hunger? Is it because you

are in such a happy place? Think that was the past that the goal was

unhappy with. I got the power but I had to straighten up the car. I

mean, this looks cool. I will watch these races again. He drove a

fantastically well. But here, to come around and get back on the

inside, this was an important move. They did not get that, it would have

been over. When the safety car came out, what were you thinking? Because

with his tyres, he should have been in better shape. He was. The safety

car, they told me and you did ten seconds and had 9.5. -- I needed ten

seconds. I was not able to bridge that gap. When the safety car came

out, my heart sunk. But I said I was going to give it everything. And a

great thing is, on the last few laps, I was not making any mistakes.

That is what I was happy about. I made no mistakes. He put me under

pressure but that did not lock up or go white. I've got everything needed

from the car. It looks to me as if this was your hungriest race in

terms of sending a message. One of my better races. Every race is

special. The last race, when you read from the front, it is

different. But this one, to use the skills I have been harnessing for so

long, it is not every day you get to pull them out and they work. Nicole

has put out a statement to say that he is going to be the victor in

China. Bring it on! Let's hear from him. What an incredible race. Do you

still appreciate it, even when you did not get the results you hoped

for? I am very disappointed to come second after a day like this, where

I was quicker. He did a better job than me. And that is it. Of course,

I have a joyful side because it was a good day for the sport and an

exciting race. In the car, there was a lot of action going on. Good

racing, close racing. And so there was a small joyful side, but the

majority is unhappy. You were quite vocal on the team radio. Do you

think Lewis was respectful of the limits of wheel to wheel racing?

There was an occasion where he went beyond the limit. But all in all, it

was tough racing. Great scenes down here in Force

India. The fourth ever podium. A little bit of dancing going on

behind to celebrate Sergio. Nice work. Your fourth podium, but just

their second. behind to celebrate Sergio. Nice

work. Your fourth podium, but Very eventful from your point of view.

The podium means a lot. Confidence wise, in every way. I've had a tough

time last year at McLaren. Just because of the fact that I was never

able to fight for a podium. This is a big factor. As a driver, when you

have a good car, it puts you at another level. The way you prepare

yourself, it moves you forward. I mean, I'd drive with art and if I

have the opportunity, I know that I have to give my very best to get the

points. I'd give it all and it was an amazing feeling to cross the

finish line and give these guys a second podium. It is the fourth

podium of your career but what is it about Bahrain? This was one of your

best races last year. What was it that allowed you to put in this

performance? We had a good time at Bahrain last year. It was hotter.

And I think nothing special, but the fact that both cars were competitive

here. So I managed to put in a good race with McLaren and here for Force

Throughout the field, what an incredible day. The absolutely

spectacular from the word go. The two Mercedes, Juliet out. That

continued all the way through to the last quarter but up and down the

field, some excellent battles. This was a great game to watch to

understand what the modern race can be like. I have to say, it was a

very high-risk strategy, the Mercedes. Do you not think, David?

They were significantly quicker than anybody else. So close, as we see

there. That could easily have put both cars out of the race. Sergio

Perez would have ended up winning. The most senior person there this

good day. Two non-finishes for McLaren and we have not seen that

for a while. Disappointment in a country where they have ownership. A

difficult time for them, and worrying for Ryrie, who did not have

he got hit by Maldonado. Maldonado, after he turned into the corner,
