Unbelievably good news, not just for Canada, for Formula One. This is a

low speed street circuit, here they do over 200 miles an hour.

Unforgiving, old tarmac. This 10-year extension means they will

upgrade in the facilities. What about the fuel, who will that

do? That will suit Mercedes will stop in

this energy-efficient formula we have they are the most

energy-efficient. This has shown to be higher if your conception than

Melbourne which was considered to be one of the higher fuel consumption

last time. That was really an exciting story in Monaco. We talked

When we talked yesterday to Graham, how was his calculator working, this

is probably worth 70, $80 million, and that will ensure their longevity

in the sport. They were quite opportunistic, for

those smaller teams they have got to be that way.

Going to somewhere like Monte Carlo, a race like this, this is your

opportunity, if you keep your nose clean, one mistake here, you are

sucked into the wall so they made the most of that. It was probably

the coming together with Max Chilton and Kimi Raikonnen that enabled them

to get that situation where they got the points.

Qualifying yesterday was scintillating, loads of action on

the track and a couple of surprises. Here is the story.

Esteban Gutierrez didn't make qualifying after this crash in

practice three. The chassis was punctured and was no way the Sauber

would be ready for stop he will start from the pit lane.

Ferrari bought a raft of updates. The new parts didn't work as well.

The drivers tried to compensate and Raikkonen couldn't have got closer

to touching the wall, he had to settle for 10th. Alonso starts

seven. Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa didn't disappoint. Felipe

Massa was disappointed to be fifth, Valtteri Bottas happily with his

position for. Last years winner Sebastian Vettel haven't been

looking strong throughout qualifying but he jumped up to third. That left

Mercedes. This track is one of Lewis Hamilton's favourites but he didn't

link it all together as well as Nico Rosberg and it was the German

Huetter pole position by less than a tenth of a second. -- the German who

took pole position. It will be a great race. It should be between the

two of us. We need to work, strategy tonight and see what I need to do to

stay in front. Rosberg was the first to me to oust

most of the teams we are fighting with. Yes, we managed to be in front

of the Ferrari cars, Force India, McLaren, and maybe in front of one

served up a great race. Lots of other people further back, but the

main race is about these two protagonists, Hamilton and Rosberg.

Who is going to come out on top? That is the thing the Mercedes boys

are free to race. Hopefully what we witnessed will be something

The BBC viewers loved seeing you driving the Renault with Alan. Not

sure if you will have such a lovely day out there, it has been a tough

time for Lotus? We are prepared for it. I am happy, it went better than

I thought. Top speed and drag is not our strength. But it is good. We

You have had some great results round here, what is the strategy? Do

you have to let others make mistakes in front of you or can you go

forward in your McLaren? I don't know, it is unbelievably hot. We

will find it difficult with the tyres, it is super hot. Lots of

things people will be trying. We have got to make sure we think are

pretty good. Someone who has been doing well this season is Nico

Hulkenberg. Force India punching above their weight. They have a few

gripes about a few rules that will be changed but we will find out

about that perhaps on the red Button after the show. Lee caught up with

Nico earlier. Tougher qualifying, but what can you

do out there today? I think we can still do some damage. It is a long

race. Montreal is a bit like Monaco, people can lose their heads. Fuel

saving for the first time will be a test. Interesting stuff ahead. Do

the damage to the others, not to you or the car.

All the preparations that for the Canadian Grand Prix. Fast jets

flying above us and what a fascinating interview Tom did with

Fernando Alonso. Were you surprised at how much contact he has with his

boss, considering the headlines we have seen? I am not surprised. He is

very tactile in terms of not just the way he operates, but in terms of

his discussions, how he goes about it. They are extremely close and he

has come forward and said Alonso is probably the finest driver that

Ferrari has ever had. That is quite an accolade to go out and say that,

bearing in mind the great drivers they have had. There is an affair

between them in terms of their ability to be sporting companions

and making sure they get the best out of it. Also, Alonso talked about

racing for another seven years. He is in his early 30s now gesture

marked he also said he would find it difficult, not necessarily to win,

but he would like to win in a Ferrari more than anything. I think

he is looking for that third world championship. I have belief in this

new team Ross and I think he can slowly turned this thing around. --

team boss. Lewis are looking very cool and collected. Not many of

those drivers are as meticulous as Fernando Alonso. He works out what

he is going to do on the grid. He has huge intelligence as a driver?

He has a great application and great concentration. You cannot do what he

does in a race car or prepare for a race unless you are very focused.

That goes for them all on the grid, but that is what you get when you

become the greatest drivers in the world, and Fernando is at the top

end of that so his focus is even better. Let's compere laps yesterday

from Lewis and Nico. This is a 2.7 mile race track with

Nico Rosberg on the left and Lewis Hamilton on the right. Both similar

lines, but Lewis Hamilton arrives at the apex with oversteer. He then

positions the car for the run out. You can see Lewis Hamilton, despite

the state, still had. That gives him a nice line as he

drives out onto the back straight, and a run down to eight and nine. At

this point we will be checking burlap deltas, as they approached

the bridge Rosberg has snuck ahead in the braking zone. We see a lock

up here. This compromises his line through the X it of mine. -- exit of

mine. The two cars are so pretty by a car length. The much shallower

line for Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg going for the cutback, for

the Canadian Grand Prix. Round seven of the championship rekindles the

so far, from a Streller to Monaco, and now to Montreal, Hamilton has

won on three previous occasions and Rosberg has yet to record a podium

finish the dust out ahead. The track layout and rows over taking --

allows overtaking. Top speeds of 210 mph, 330: It is. There is no margin

for error on the exit of four separate consequences. Tyre strategy

wavers between one or two stop race. Plenty for them to think about as

they go through this Grand Prix. You can see the heat haze, another

factor they need to take into consideration. It was relatively

cool for the practice on Friday but it has got hotter and hotter. The

racetrack gets more and more rubber down. Tyre usage becomes less of an

issue in theory as you get the rubber down on the racetrack.

Monitoring and maintaining the temperatures, not only with the

bricks, but with the cockpit, is a real issue. This is a physically

tough race despite not having many high G corners.

Lewis Hamilton lining up on the front row, he has been on the front

row every time but he hasn't got a pole position for stopping got

pipped to the post by his team-mate Yuko Rosberg. -- Nico Rosberg. 100%

in terms of pole positions. The total line-up, Rosberg and Hamilton,

afternoon, hopefully. The grandstands are filling up stock

Les gets news from Tom Clarkson in the pit lane. What can we expect to

see? It is a question of fuel saving,

that is the biggest headache for the teams as we go into this 70 lap race

because none of them can get to the end flat out without saving fuel. If

you start saving fuel you go easy on your ties. Does that leave you more

towards a 1-stop or to stop or are you better off on a two-stop

strategy, having fresh tyres to help you defend while you are fuel

saving? It is about how you incorporate that into your

strategy. This will be a real race for the pit wall, strategy will be

crucial. I was noticing Nico Rosberg was

doing a lot of gesticulating from the car asking for a drink at one

point, taking the fan away, leading to be slightly agitated as he goes

through his final preparations to make this green flag lap.

That shows you how effective their Thai Qatar. -- those Thai blankets.

Nico Hulkenberg is starting on the soft tyre, the heart of the two

compounds, it could be Force India will play a bit of a gamble and

maybe try and do this race on a 1-stop strategy, they will start a

hard of you tyres. Both Marussia cars are as well, as is Ericsson and

Gutierrez. I know from talking to Nico

Hulkenberg he was delighted to be 11th rather than scraping into the

top ten, free choice and tyres, going for that more durable race

tyre, and hoping the high likelihood of getting a safety car around this

racetrack, more than 50% based on previous Grand Prix is will see him

be able to get away with one stop. It is a very narrow margin. The gap

just four points. A huge gap back to Fernando Alonso. The Constructors'

Championship is very interesting, particularly behind Mercedes, Red

Bull running second, Ferrari third, Force India a very impressive run.

McLaren and Williams tied and 52 points. Williams are certainly our

qualified McLaren for today double bass Grand Prix. The two Williams in

the top five, the first is ninth. The car was completely rebuilt after

Gutierrez had an accident. Looking down at the classic hairpin shot in

Canada, this is where they will start to gather the cars together as

they line up for the grid. This is one venue and one corner in

the world you do feel an appreciation for the race fans at

the .biz grandstands going way, way into the sky and water cars below.

When you are doing a parade lap and the slowing down up, it is a

fantastic opportunity to give something back to the race fans.

Sir Frank Williams watching to see whether it is possible for Williams

to get a podium finish in Canada... And they achieved that on the

circuit was in 2007. The last podium they had was when Pastor Maldonado

took that amazing victory in Spain in 2012.

row for the next bout between Rosberg and Hamilton come around

seven, lights out, away we go and it is a good start from Hamilton pulled

up Hamilton has made a better getaway stop Rosberg is on the

inside. They almost virtual stop Hamilton loses second place.

has switched onto the super soft tyre, having started on the soft

tyre. An interesting strategy. The crane is very quickly getting one of

Marussia out of the way. They had ten points in Monaco and now they

have lost both cars in the opening lap of the Canadian Grand Prix. TEAM

RADIO: please check tyre pressure there was a lot of debris. Vettel is

continuing a trend of having gained a place at most of the Grand Prix

races this year. But he has a choice. Get in the way for the front

with the inevitable thought Hamilton will slipstream past him. Such an

upset in top speed. What does he allow Hamilton to go and allow the

Mercedes race wheel to wheel with the potential of them coming

together? They almost came together in the

first turn. But let's go through the order. Rosberg, Vettel, Hamilton

third. Bottas and Massa, Ricciardo is sixth. Vergne is seventh ahead of

Alonso. Raikkonen is ninth ahead of Jenson Button. Then Perez is 11,

Hulkenberg 12. But, Perez is on a different strategy. Let's look at

the start. Hamilton get a better run in the short run and is ahead in the

braking zone. Just that the point where Hamilton would have wanted to

continue turning, Rosberg had the upper hand in terms of track

position. Not much of the racing line. Hamilton had to try. But it

cost him. Trying to go for the league has cost him a place.

Vettel's point of view. It is a good start. You can just see as Rosberg

came off the kerb, Hamilton left with no option but to run onto the

grass. See from Hamilton's point of view. Greater drive off. As they

reach the breaking point, he tries to go with it and then hast to open

the steering. He took the risk, but that is racing. There is the mistake

from Max Chilton. Bianchi gave him as much space as possible. Hawking

his inside left, his front left inside the right rear of Bianchi,

his team-mate. You are a skate board at that point, heading to the wall.

What a bitter disappointment for the team. Look at that mess. That is a

concrete wall. Drivers are well looked after, but I would imagine

the car will have been damaged. It is a bad angle. It would have

destroyed the gearbox and the rear end of the car. Hundreds of

thousands of pounds worth of damage. A severe hit for the team.

The safety car is still out on the track. They are very efficient here

in Canada and got rid of the cars as quickly as possible. Trying to get

Max Chilton's car out of the way because that is in a more difficult

desertion. They don't have the straps at the right and to get the

rear of the car. They need to tighten the strap.

TEAM RADIO: will need a lot of power at the start. Getting ready to get

the boost from the engine to get past Vettel as quickly as possible.

He is not awaiting ordered ERS pass at the end of the second lap.

Gutierrez has come back into the pits. He has made two pit stops.

Started from the pit lane and has now gone out on the harder of the

compound tyres. Maybe he had a puncture. They said there was no

problem doing 50 laps on the prime tyre. TEAM RADIO: first debris is

about 25 metres over where they have put the dust over the oil. The

longer Vettel can keep this safety car out there, the better it is for

the Red Bull team. That won't be lost on Charlie Whiting. But in the

interests of safety you have got to heed the message from a race driver.

If he cried wolf you would have a quiet word with him after the race.

I was talking yesterday about the fuel situation. It was confirmed

this is one of the toughest after Singapore in terms of fuel

consumption. If they had a safety car of the three laps, it would not

help them that much. We are up to five laps now. Now it has a

beneficial effect for the teams. On one hand you are trying to save fuel

and you can do that with different engine modes. But you have to keep

heat in the brakes and tyres. You can only do that by accelerating and

then decelerating. Tom has made his way over to Marussia, what is the

mood light, Tom? The mood is desperate. People were bent double

as if they ran a marathon. Drained by a busy weekend and then seeing

what happened to the cars. I asked to speak to any of the managements,

but I am told they are busy looking at replays to see what happened.

Formula One is a great leveller. It is a harsh environment. From one

weekend when everything is working your way and you score points, both

cars finished in Monaco to a race where both cars went out in the

opening lap and have taken each other out. This is what Mercedes

have been worrying about and it could happen at some point between

Rosberg and Hamilton. They will always be close to each other on the

track? There wasn't much distance between them on the first turn. What

Rosberg did to Hamilton is what Hamilton did to him in Bahrain.

Hamilton will know in his mind he would have done exactly the same.

Unusual to see Alonso not really gaining anything in the opening lap.

Then in the Toro Rosso had his best finish here 12 months ago. He always

goes well here. To be ahead of the Ferrari is a major new app this

stage in the race. Question is, whether he can hold on to that. We

are still behind the safety car. They are not allowed to race each

other until that safety car is brought in. So far it has been used

a few times. It was used for eight laps in Monaco. We are almost up to

that now. Everybody waiting to see what happens. Williams have two

cars, fourth and fifth. Pretty much as they qualified. Vettel went ahead

of the Mercedes. They will try and join in when Hamilton is aligning

Vettel to get the second place. TEAM RADIO: keep an eye restarted see

what people do in turn number four. Thinking ahead. He knows there is

oil and cement dust down. Turn all will be conservative the restart.

Wants to know how much of a risk he can take thereafter. Williams has

such a good top speed relative to Red Bull. It is inevitable Hamilton

will clear Vettel and will be looking for a way through after

that. We are joined I Christian Horner. Great start by Sebastian

Vettel, you have made progress with the starts and the car? Great start

by both of the guys. Good use of the moments between Hamilton and

Rosberg. It was opportunistic getting the jump. Ricciardo is in

sixth place, how was it from his point of view? Pretty good, he has

Vergne behind him rather than Alonso. Positive start for both.

Tell us about the amount of fuel saving you can do? Will this help

everybody in this race is not to worry? You would expect fuel not to

be an issue now. Hopefully it will be a sprint from now to the finish

and not as exposed as we thought we were going to be on the straight.

There have been radio messages in changing the multi-map, can you

explain? They are playing around with the fuel modes to try and

minimise the amount of fuel being used, to save the maximum amount of

fuel for the race. You go through different rechargers, quite a

complicated procedure. You can always ask Sebastian Vettel to get

his head down in the straits, help with wind resistance? Safety car is

in this lap, I will have to go. The message has come up the safety car

will be coming in. The lights are out and the fans are getting ready

for the restart. Rosberg leads Vettel and Hamilton. Hamilton with

the task of getting past the red ball as quickly as possible. He

cannot let Rosberg make a break and he has to stay in touch. It has

taken strategy differently. They will be able to run further on the

super-soft tyres. The question is, have they kept heat in them. Safety

car comes in and week are ready to go racing once again. Vettel is

slower away. This will hurt Hamilton. Rosberg launches himself

away again. Vettel, not challenged yet by Hamilton has got himself into

a clear second place. The restart did not work very well Lewis

Hamilton. Still chased by the two Williams. Rosberg did what he is

allowed to do, let the safety car clear, into the pit lane. As soon as

he was confident, he went for it. You can see Force India. A 11th

place the Perez. I think they may be on four different pit stop

sequences. Hulkenberg looking at the long game. Adrian Sutil is 13th.

Gutierrez running app that his two it stops. Ericsson is running but we

have lost both Marussia cars. Hamilton, before he gets a bit DRS

in use. Alonso, chased by Kimi Raikkonen. Jenson Button behind

them. Bit of pressure from Button coming from his former team-mate,

Sergio Perez. Perez is through. Button could not do much about that.

Button on the same tyres but Perez on a new asset of the super-soft

tyres. Just seen a Caterham miss the apex of the last chicane. They will

get away with that 12 times before they get a penalty. TEAM RADIO: fuel

is good to the end. That is interesting. The safety car period

has helped. Ericsson is into the pits with an engine problem. Rosberg

leads, Vettel in second, under more pressure from Lewis Hamilton. Then

Bottas in fourth. We will hear a bit of radio, Massa is in fifth,

Ricciardo in sixth. He has two follow once again, good opportunity

for Rosberg to open up back. He was half a second quicker than on the

last lap. Sebastian Vettel was quicker than Rosberg. Exploiting the

performance of the Red Bull car in the middle sector, he was a couple

of tenths quicker. Whether a few more corners. Confirming the Red

Bull, nothing wrong with the chassis.

Big overspeed as he came into the braking zone. You do get clipping

towards the end of the straight. And saw him take away some of the power

elite. That allowed the Force India to use their agency.

Did Daniil Kvyat have a problem? He ran wide. He lost it completely.

That has dropped him down to the tail of the field.

That could have well happened to Lewis Hamilton, even on the grass at

the start. He is just being caught out as he rode over the back of the

kerb. The dearest has been enabled, you

can see the rear wing flap opening up, he makes the most of it straight

with us look at the difference in speed he is straight past Sebastian

Vettel. The gap between Rosberg and Hamilton, let's see what it is.

Rosberg has done 1:19 .9. The gap is 1.7 seconds. Hamilton's task is to

try and close that gap as quickly as possible as he goes chasing after

the race leader. He will have eased up a bit more of

those super-soft tyres running in the dirty air behind the Red Bull.

You can see is slight graining on the left rear. We are expecting any

tyre issues to be about tyre wear rather than degradation.

We saw the incident between children and Bianchi will be investigated

after the race. Ericsson is official retirement, he has lost three cars,

the two Marussia cars, Marcus Ericsson. After his good run in

Monaco, who finished 11th. No luck on this occasion. Rosberg from

Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel dropped to third, all ahead of Williams.

Bottas is for. Riccardo sixth. The difference between the lap

times, Rosberg going a bit quicker than Lewis Hamilton was identical

times in the middle sector. Let's see what the final sector is like.

RADIO: Sebastian, you need to stay on top of your tyres.

Rear grading. He is talking about the super-soft

tyres. Valtteri Bottas could be trouble already as we see Marcus

Ericsson walk away. Encouraging for Red Bull, you can see Daniel

Riccardo was all over the back of Felipe Massa as they were going to

return to full top --. It will not be easy with the speed

advantage the Williams have in a straight line. They have

consistently been amongst the fastest in the Straits on the speed

trap in Canada. Romain Grosjean has just made an early pit stop.

Interesting. Anything from late eight, 15 to get

to the first stop of the super-soft tyres stop they have the advantage

of having several laps behind the safety car.

RADIO: we have broken Jenson Button's GRS.

They have opened up more than a one second gap, they haven't actually

gone out and broken it. They have not been tampering with

his rear wing. They would probably like to. That wouldn't be sporting,

of course. There is Felipe Massa, chased by

Daniel Riccardo in the Red Bull. These trillion has been so

impressive this year, didn't qualify as well as he would have liked. --

the Australian. Hamilton gained a little bit on Rosberg. Only

marginally. A comfortable gap for Hamilton to be

able to get some clean air, get in his comfort zone of where he is with

the car. Despite losing out with the safety car, it has been incredibly

close. Psychologically it is bigger pressure on Rosberg to have him

behind Hamilton, just in his mirrors.

Hamilton always says he lost to come from behind, a lusty case, that is

where he relishes a race, where he can go on the attack. He certainly

has that opportunity here today. We saw in the back time -- background

the Ferrari's not as close to Jean-Eric Vergne. He is holding on

to seventh place. RADIO: six to catch Gutierrez.

17th at the moment. The Marussia guys are making their way back.

Daniel Riccardo heading for the pets.

A relatively owed the stop, -- relatively early start for Daniel

Riccardo. Daniel Riccardo comes into the pit lane for Red Bull. Lap 14.

It does indicate to stop race will Daniel Riccardo. Relatively early,

bearing in mind the safety car period we have already had. It is

indeed. Will they be able to slot in in front? He rejoins at turn two.

Zuma be the team saw that gap and they have put him in it and given

him some clear air. His tars were not going to like following the

Williams. They have got into some clear air.

Trying to exploit the performance of their car rather than being held to

the performance of another. Expect to see a whole flurry of activity in

the pets over the next couple of laps.

Rosberg leads, Hamilton, the gap around 1.8, 1.9 seconds. Mark Grist

Hamilton putting a charge in here by the look of things.

He has gained a little bit on that last lap to Nico Rosberg. Look how

they are beginning to pull away for top Hulkenberg being passed. It is a

McLaren. Jenson Button. You go flying in there, you can break much

later than you can for the last corner. Jenson Button, accordingly,

in the pits, goes for the super-soft style. Valtteri Bottas is in. He has

just been in as well stop a bit of side-by-side action. Thing that is

Daniil Kvyat. Just maintaining the advantage, Daniel Riccardo just a

little bit up the road. Great pit stops from both Williams and

McLaren. Seconds station. Magic stuff from both teams. Williams and

McLaren are tied in the construction 's points. Williams have got the

edge. Felipe Massa has stayed out there. Felipe Massa may be on a

different strategy to Valtteri Bottas although they both have

started on the super-soft tyres. Kevin Magnussen coming through the

lobby is in tenth position inside the points. We are seeing a few

different strategies. Sebastian Vettel in. Sebastian Vettel in, and

Jean-Eric Vergne in, he releases Alonso as Raikkonen coming under

some pressure from Sergio Perez will stop he had a great race when he was

driving. . He looks pretty good today. We are looking at Sebastian

Vettel, Jean-Eric Vergne is also in. More coming in, Felipe Massa is in,

Magnussen is also in. So is Adrian Sutil. The super-soft tyre has not

lasted as long as some would have expected.

It is the graining issues stop the Williams slotting back and behind

the Toro Rosso. Devastating for Massa be staring at the back end of

that Toro Rosso phase of the Grand Prix. The rear graining has just

been the issue. Once you start getting graining across the surface,

it is like floating around the marbles. It is not low downforce on

this racetrack any more, and certainly no grip. They have hung on

as best as they could. Some oversteer from McLaren.

Jenson Button trend get Gutierrez. He will get early on the power with

this pressure tyres on the run down into 1010. Gutierrez will stay right

and try and defend stop Jenson is having to go to the left. Try to get

a straight exit. Gutierrez is wise to that, places his car quite

accurately. Ferrari power in the back of the Sauber, versus Mercedes

power in the back of the McLaren, this should become a relatively

straightforward pass. The dearest as to the inside, but in flies past.

Alonso is in the pits, he's getting going once again. Leslie will that

stop was like. Total time, 23.9 seconds. We don't touch me get the

stationary Tavistock where has he come back out? He has got a head of

Jean-Eric Vergne. He will try and combat. Alonso has used the pit

stop. They have got their man ahead of the Toro Rosso that was in front

of them. Alonso misses the apex, it could compromise them in a rundown

to shed chicken. Very red mistake from Fernando Alonso. That will give

Jean-Eric Vergne at edge of encouragement but he is not really

close enough. Struggling with Taiwan, this is one of the key

issues that they were worried about. Getting the time to work when he

first put it on the car. That will allow them to be in the

dearest end. -- TRS zone. William saw much better drive them Toro

Rosso. He will make fairly easy meat of

that. Kimi Raikonnen currently in the pits. Alonso having done this

opening lap, and got ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne, let's see where

reckoning comes out. He was just behind Alonso, he is coming down the

pit lane, he will come up behind his team-mate, will he be behind the

Williams? Yes. Wheel to wheel with McLaren. Jenson Button, Juskane to

be able to cross in front. He has two back. That is where Button and

Alonso made contact a few years ago when Button went on to that

remarkable victory for stop Felipe Massa's pit stop.

The power wasn't there, by the looks of it. Why is there always a problem

for Felipe Massa? Race leader is in. Now what happens? Does Lewis

Hamilton manage to get an extra quick lap out of his super-soft

tyres or other best now? A set of soft tyres going on. Still hoping

for one or two-stop strategy for Mercedes. Probably to stop. There is

a possibility they could go to the end. He is out into clear out. That

half second could make all the difference. Hamilton was two seconds

behind last lap around. Hamilton has gone purple in the first sector, he

knows he is coming in this lap, he is using everything he can from this

set of tyres. If you can get an self right onto the gear box, if he keeps

the rest of this lap claim, this team can deliver him 2.5 seconds. We

have seemed Cindy said in pit stops. Rosberg, let's see what happened to

him on the replay. Oh, my goodness was on the grass for stop he went

massively over the inside the kerb. Watch this. Huge moment. He was so

close to putting in the wall there. That is the pressure, it is

relentless, he has got to keep pushing for stop it is also that how

they are going on to forgot it is difficult, even though it is

preheated, to get that high working. We saw it with Alonso. He

did mess up his line for stop you do wonder if getting this has working

effectively is proving difficult. Is Hamilton going to be able to come

out ahead? Is middle sector was not anywhere near his personal best.

Rosberg going across the line, two second gap. Same pit stop time. Not

the fastest from the Saudis today for stop Rosberg stays in front of

his team-mate. He is getting those yellow walled soft tyres to work.

Your store but to race on here. There was a corner where Rosberg had

a big slide. Hamilton chasing after his

team-mate. Let's tell you what is happening behind. Several people

haven't stopped yet. The two Force India cars, Sergio Perez, Nico

Hulkenberg. Perez is currently running in third place on a

super-soft tyres, and Nico Hulkenberg is fourth on is harder

tyres. Very interesting, Force India definitely aiming to try and do a

1-stop race here for both cars and currently they are running strongly,

Paris third. Mercedes. You can see Force India in

the background. They have not stopped yet. Perez is in third

place. Hulkenberg is next up. He is chased by Vettel, who has been into

the pits. Has got a new set of tyres. Then you have Bottas six,

Ricciardo is seventh and in eighth place at the moment, not having

stopped is Pastor Maldonado. For Pastor Maldonado to get this far in

the race is an achievement at the some of the events this year. But

the pit stops will drop him back when they occur. We are on board

with Felipe Massa. Behind this group we have Kvyat,

Raikkonen and Button. We have had three cars out of the Grand Prix and

lost both Marussia on the opening lap. Lee McKenzie is talking to Max

Chilton. Max, how are you feeling? Not happy. Got a mega start. Was

good in to turn one and two, side-by-side coming into three. I

braked at the point where I knew I could get through the corner. My

surprise, he braked even later and turned in. It looked like I hit him

big cars he was in front of me but he was only in front of me because

he braked very late. I feel sorry that the team because there is

damage to the cars, but he should have seen me. Jules Bianchi has got

into a view first lap dramas this year. He is aggressive on the

opening lap. Interesting comments, David? He has his unique point of

view from behind the steering wheel. But Bianchi had made the corner,

whether he had made the corner or not, had given space to his

team-mate. If you are that car behind, you cannot keep drifting

across. So a racing incident at least, probably would have been

Max's position to back out of it. In the end, Kvyat had two short cut it.

He will have to give the place back, he missed the corner. Great

spatial awareness because Raikkonen was committed or not far enough to

claim the corner. It basically was Kvyat, you keep going or you make

contact. This is the fourth position. Hamilton has set the new

fastest lap and has the gap down between him and Rosberg. He is not

quite within DRS range but is getting closer. On the Lotus

Maldonado, he is coming back into the pits. He was running in 14th,

but dropping down the order. Once again something has gone wrong. He

had not made a pit stop earlier on. Retiring the car, his afternoon is

over. Once again, Maldonado's race weekend comes to an early

conclusion. Lovely! He has gone too wide, Vettel. What a great view for

the fans in the grandstand. It looked good for a moment but

Hulkenberg read it beautifully. Great racing. Full marks to both

drivers, one that having a go but greater reactions from Hulkenberg.

Hamilton is closing the gap. It was a late move. It was almost like he

thought he had to go down the inside because he braked too late. Great

spatial awareness from Hulkenberg. I am excited about Hamilton being on

the attack. Vettel saying he is struggling to get by. He was trying

in a place where the engine horsepower would not make a

difference. But Hamilton getting closer and closer to the back of

Nico Rosberg's car. Just over one third distance and Hamilton seeing

the opposition -- opportunity. Rosberg seems to prefer the wider

line. But it looks like it gives Hamilton a straighter exit. DRS is

wide open. Hamilton was saying that DRS does not have an effect if it is

exactly the same car you are chasing. There will not be an

effect, it takes drag of the car. Rosberg rose-macro engineer said

fuel is good but we know Hamilton saves fuel. -- Rosberg's engineer.

Damage to the left rear. Was it already broken? Is that what sends

him into the pit. Looks like we could have lost both of Marussia and

Caterham. This is the area Marussia crashed out earlier on and we can

still sue the evidence of that. Hamilton has been using less fuel

than Rosberg and that has been a standard part of the season. Bottas

not using as much fuel as some of those around. Hamilton much closer.

He has had to go straight across. Hamilton takes the lead! Note, he

doesn't. We were talking over each other with excitement. Rosberg will

have to give that up? He has gained an advantage. You will get a message

from Charlie saying, you cannot do that. What might be in his favour is

Hamilton wasn't trying to pass him when he made the mistake. He locked

up. Matter is making a move on Alonso. He has done it into turn

one. Back Mastro matter. Massa. In the end there was no point

fighting it. A long lock-up. He is desperately trying to get to the

apex. Once he realises he will just continue to damage that tyre he

opens the steering. It will be curiouser to know what the radio

message might be. He will get away with that because Hamilton wasn't

trying to pass him. You see the past here from Massa, DRS around the

outside of Alonso. Toto Wolf keeping an eye on Mercedes. Hamilton had

been much closer up to that point. I am sure there has been radio

communication. I cannot believe Hamilton would be happy about it.

Rosberg can argue Hamilton wasn't in a position to take advantage anyway

so he does not have to give the position back. Another lock-up. Both

of them are making little mistakes. Both of them are taking lumps out of

the tyres. They will be in predetermined engine modes. The

team, in fairness will be allowing them to run similar strategies.

There was talk earlier in the year where they have both been naughty

boys, used a bit more power than what was planned. Rosberg getting a

better drive off turn ten in this lap. I wonder how far we will see

them go before we see another pit stop. Probably around lap 40 or so.

They are on a two stop strategy. Bearing in mind the safety car was

out for a while. Rosberg responding to the threat from Hamilton.

Middlesex is very even but gaining on the last sector was Lewis

Hamilton. It is under investigation for track limits for Rosberg.

Stuarts are looking at that. We are with Sebastian Vettel. TEAM RADIO:

it is an excellent job, we are happy up the moment. Continue what you are

doing. Perez has done 28 laps on his super-soft tyres. That has been the

story of what has made his career so far. When you go back to Sauber, his

ability just a one stop and make better use of the tyres. Going back

to Rosberg and Hamilton, it is easy for the Stuarts to cancer. Has he

gained a position? Let's see if that was completed simply with Sutil in

the background. We have lost Maldonado from this race. We have

had five retirements. Up front, nothing to choose between Rosberg

and Hamilton. He has closed the gap again. No news on the investigation

going on. TEAM RADIO: Lewis, Nico is under investigation so don't take

any risks. He psychologically wants that opportunity to overtake Rosberg

on track. Can he rattle him again? Hamilton is faster in the first and

third sectors on that last lap. Rosberg just having the slight edge

in the middle sector. The sector they are in right now. Sergio Perez

on the super-soft tyres is driving well. He is close to having a pit

stop advantage over the likes of Alonso and Vergne, which would move

him into the top ten. Hulkenberg in the other Force India on the harder

compound. We expect him to go deep into this race anyway. Force India

are putting together an interesting race strategy. It has allowed Bottas

to close on Vettel. Just four tenths of a second between Bottas and

Vettel. He is in DRS range. As is Hamilton on Rosberg. Rosberg gets

into that final corner cleanly. Hamilton is closing in. Is there an

opportunity? Not quite. Curious to know how much flat spot Rosberg has

on that front tyre. On board with Jenson Button, he made a move on the

Toro Rosso. That is Daniil Kvyat. I think he held it on the exit as

well. Straightforward pass. Button in 12th. Still outside the points.

Magnusson is in 14th. McLaren said it would be a relatively good race

for them, but it is not turning out that way. Hulkenberg in the Force

India, Vettel in the Red Bull. TEAM RADIO: we are extending this at the

moment. Even further on the soft tyre the Perez. You can see the

Force India in the bottom of the shaft. Behind this group you have

Ricciardo, he is beginning to close as well. Vettel will be getting

deeply frustrated with his situation. It is not allowing him to

show the pacey has got. Hulkenberg holding the group. Bottas with a

chance. Vettel will make Bottas go to the outside. We are in another

DRS zone. Defensive line again from Sebastian Vettel. Bottas is not

quite there. Dropping Vettel away from Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg was

protecting Perez and holding this group back. Perez has consistent lap

times when other people have struggled to keep the super-soft

tyre alive. Track temperature is 45 degrees. Paul di Resta did an

amazing stint here, 56 laps on the softer tyre. He delivered a good

results, was seventh last year. Force India trying to chase the same

performance this weekend. Perez going through and then Hulkenberg,

still chased by Vettel. Will this be an opportunity for the Williams and

not us to use the Mercedes hp, use the DRS and get past the Red Bull?

Let's watch. Got the DRS in operation but not quite close

enough. TEAM RADIO: we need to save fuel, fuel is increasing at the

moment. Not what you want to hear when you have Hamilton getting

closer. The gap is just .5 of a second at Rosberg being told he has

to save fuel. What they tend to do before the braking zone is left of

consistency into the fuel saving. No change up front despite it being cat

Hamilton not as close this time as the previous lap.

Consistently quicker than Hamilton in that sector, looks to me as if

Hamilton struggles to get the car three eight and nine, in such a tidy

fashion. That affects his rundown to the hairpin which is where he gets

the first of those TRS zones. I do know whether Hamilton was

getting rid of a terror of, a couple of times I have seen his hand come

up the visor. They have plenty of 20 rip-off in case... Micro

where is my team mate Tom brake balance? Already, amazing they can

no that kind of detail in the middle of a race. That the thing that makes

battling with team-mates are intriguing, if it was another car,

you are blind in terms of recovery, battery power, usage, what engine

mixture, how much will I have studied it get any of that

information. These two groups of engineers working in these two

separate cars are within one team, and that team is going to win this

country unless something and usual happens, but those two separate

groups are going to use all the information at their disposal to

gain an advantage. Hamilton doesn't seem to be

attacking at the moment, is this because he is taking a breather on

the tyres, so that when it comes around to the next pit stop window,

which will presumably be coming up relatively soon if they are on a

two-stop strategy which marks the last nightly he will go on attack.

a super-soft tyres. That is a brilliant performance from Sergio

Perez. He had a great result two years ago, still on the podium, an

excellent result. He's a 1-stop race, no doubt about it. Let's see

where he comes back up. He will in a group around ten, 11 place. He is

outside of regular. Justin behind John Erickson. That puts him in 11

for the moment. Good stint, now he goes to the end. A lot of the cars

just editing on the road will be making another pit stop. Perez will

earn reward later on. This battle has allowed Daniel

Riccardo two, onto the back of Valtteri Bottas, he has been working

with at his lap times. Frank, still no change between

Rosberg Hamilton, the a slightly bigger. Bottas here chased by

Ricciardo. Felipe Massa is behind a. 3.8 seconds behind the script was

Alonso is eighth, Perez is currently in knife position. Jean-Eric Vergne

in tenth place. Still no wait for Sebastian Vettel to get past that

we will keep an eye on that. There is Jenson Button, Bottas. A bit

further back is Kevin Magnussen. Tom? I wanted to comment on Nico

Hulkenberg and what tremendous performance he is putting in. It

reminds me of last year in Korea, he knew where to be quick. I am

expecting him to give deep into the race. Pirelli said with that of Zaya

could drive from modules to Vancouver, no issues with her. He

will come out on the super-soft have we have just seen up Taiwan a

problem for Valtteri Bottas, what Williams -working on. Income

Sebastian Vettel. Progress bigger lost power, got no power. Hamilton

is reporting a loss of power. The gap between himself and Rosberg, we

will try to keep an eye. Hasn't affected his sector, he is quicker

in that middle sector for the first time that I can remember in this

Grand Prix. Is there a problem on Hamilton's car? Rosberg is further

ahead than he was. But we are keeping an eye on that second

Mercedes. Was just a momentary glitch? They have had this before in

a couple of races, just a momentary loss power. Let's listen.

It is a good lap time. Tom, you were listening as he went past, still

looking pretty good. It is sounding pretty good for the

was listening to both of those Mercedes engines will stop this

believe your team-mate has the same problem will stop a sudden loss of

power quickly for both cars. Hamilton had the same problem. Both,

virtually at the same time. It hasn't made any difference to the

Red Bull going for a pretty early pit stop, the second stop with both

He has gone out in front of his team-mate which would be a real

turnaround because Sebastian Vettel has been ahead of him throughout

this Grand Prix so far. There are the top two. Hamilton running

reasonably quickly. Both cars running smoothly.

Both cars lost two seconds relative to Hulkenberg in third place. The

issue that Hamilton, Rosberg, the same thing.

Both had done another slow lap. 22.7, 22.34. They are struggling

with something. They are now 20 miles an hour slower through the

speed trap impaired with their best.

Talk about being evenhanded. Both cars should be suffering the same

problem at the same time. Hamilton is getting closer, mind you. I

wonder if they have just lost the battery aspect of the performance,

and they are running just on the good old-fashioned internal

combustion engine. Felipe Massa has gone three seconds

lap faster, he is a new tyres. What is going on? A real turnaround. They

have been so reliable except for that one non-finished Lewis Hamilton

Dennis Daly of results hugely slow in the first sector.

Rosberg have a second slower. RADIO: the worst thing you can do is make

sure your tyres have nothing left for the end.

Ricciardo did get past his team-mate. The niece of technical

term from a French engineer talking to a German driver for top this has

what things around. He is chasing after Daniel Riccardo,

after being slightly ahead of them, both in qualifying and race so far.

That pit stop, the timing of it, whether there was traffic, whether

pit stop himself or slightly slower, he has ended up losing a first

Mercedes are going slowly. Going very slow indeed. Hamilton is

less slow of the two. He has got back at the two. He has got back

down to half a second. Nothing to choose between the two

Mercedes. Hamilton is chasing Rosberg. They are both not running

at full pace. Two or three seconds slower than the cars behind. They

are still racing. Both trying to get their fingers to the reserve.

There was one race this year where Jenson Button was told the press

left Button once and a rabbit and 13 times to do a reset. I don't know if

they're having to dig all that while driving a dude about hour. They have

reset buttons in their, your last attempt to try and get the system

started again. Kimi Raikonnen on his way. There

have been told to pack about what to do, to reset the system, while it is

running. Will it work? Does it have to be turned off and turned on

again? Difficult to do that when you are in a race like this that you do

mph for stop them at 22 second gap to Hulkenberg, they could get into

the pits, do something get back out again, if they could do it quickly

and still retain a lead. Taking into account combining with

the tyre stop stop they are losing time for

. RADIO: concentrate on your race. He is not happy at all to find

himself behind his team-mate. Daniel Riccardo was absolutely

furious with himself saying he had left three tenths of a second on the

table in Q3, so perhaps we are not surprised to see... Kimi Raikonnen

has done. Whether that will contact. That is up ahead then, turn

ten. It may be another car involved. We have to wait and see. It gets

restarted. He did have a spin their through free practice on Friday.

Bazaar, very late in the corner. Not going well for Kimi Raikonnen the

season. He went about that point, exactly the same, you can see is

mistakes like that. He may have an appointment issue with the amount of

kinetic energy released when he opened the throttle.

Drivability with a Ferrari has been a problem. That is Perez, making a

bit of a mistake there. He is being chased by Ricciardo, and Sebastian

Vettel and Force India are out in the pits. Hulkenberg is made it...

Finally Hulkenberg has done 42 laps on these soft tyres. Which is he

putting is putting on the super soft tyre, will not have any problems

with warm up but he has got to get those to the end of the Grand Prix

for stop where will he come out relative to his team-mate? None of

these have to stop again, but Hulkenberg will be in very, slightly

quicker tyre. But doing all that ever taking will not be easy. He is

out of front of Bottas. It doesn't look at the Force India Perez is not

as competitive at this stage, different tyres between Paris and

Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg will have two manage those super-soft tyres.

Felipe Massa running in third, 20 seconds behind a race leader.

Do not lift early, it is bad for energy. Do not save any fuel, it is

bad for energy for stop the energy recovery, the electrical energy they

need to recover, is being hurt more by lifting of early, they are not

getting the full electrical charge. The electrical charge is generated

on the rear axle. He has the break. He wants this amount of

deceleration. We will use the generator unit to decelerate the

rear axle. That is recovering the energy and charging the batteries,

Perez has a real opportunity of taking the podium. He is ahead of

when they experienced their problem. What other problem they have is

continuing. The gap to Massa is 19 seconds. They can hit and still

maintain the lead but that is shrinking. Massa is in third ways.

We are expecting to see another pit stop from him. Let wait to see what

these teams decide. We are seeing some long stints on the tyres and

maybe they will adjust their strategies. We want to try to make

these tyres last to the end. They are going to have that as a one

stop. Different strategies between Williams. Perez in... Alonso is

thought that moment. Alonso might be to go to the end. 54 laps is

achievable. TEAM RADIO: Nico, both cars have the same problem. We don't

think we can resolve it. You will have to pick the pace up. It is Red

Bull losing out in this. From Vettel qualifying third, he is now in

seventh. It does look as though plenty of those upper head will not

make a second pit stop. Mercedes are plenty of time and opportunity to

make a pit stop. Indeed, Rosberg makes a pit stop. This could be a

massive opportunity for Lewis Hamilton. We know both cars are not

running 100% but they are still fighting for the victory here. Nico

Ross Bird, into the Mercedes pit. Winner in Monaco. Can he take

back-to-back victories? Not a good stop. Bit of a delay. A second over

his previous stop. They can unleash a 2.5 second stop of Hamilton. Massa

has taken the lead of the Grand Prix. Is it the first time this year

we will see a car other than Mercedes to lead? Maybe we will see

another car leading. The gap has been closing consistently. Now we

know Williams are going to try to make the end of the Grand Prix, it

seems the strategy was late calling bringing in Rosberg. Where is the

delay here? Front left. Definitely a loss of time. Hamilton will try to

take advantage but is the car going to give him what he needs? Massa

leads, Rosberg is second and Hamilton is third. Is Hamilton in?

Yes he is. We will see a different race leader for the first time this

year. Front wing adjustment being made. It is a quick stop. This has

got to be a chance for Hamilton to take the lead. Massa is in France

but will he get out in front of Rosberg? Massa is just in front of a

limping Mercedes. Williams stays in front but those tyres have a long

way to go. But you have a wounded Mercedes which is not running at

full speed. Hamilton is out ahead of his team-mate. Crucially. He is in

front of Nico Rosberg, which is what he wanted. Score more points. What a

turn up visitors, can Felipe Massa look after these tyres? Hamilton

goes wide the hairpin. Did it allow Rosberg to get close? He is very

close. He has DRS, Hamilton will have to defend. Rosberg got in

front. Hamilton is coming back at him. There was a touch! Hamilton

slows down, presumably to let him through because the advantage was

taken. This is great stuff! It's not even for the lead at the moment.

Massa has smoke of the tyre, maybe damage? There was such a touch

between them? I am not used to seeing wheel spin like that. Yes,

there was a touch. Hamilton is in trouble. We thought we were going to

hear something on the radio. Is the car sitting at a funny angle?

Definitely trouble for Lewis Hamilton. There was definitely

contact but was there another issue which made him run wide? About to be

caught by Sergio Perez. Hamilton's championship hopes will take a big

dent from this. This will drop him back. He may be able to get back to

the pits and then get back into the race. But whatever has happened, it

is a cruel low. There is no guarantee Rosberg will finish. He is

saying brakes have failed. They were worried about the brakes going into

this race. In comes Lewis Hamilton. What about Rosberg? Is his car still

in good shape? Felipe Massa leads the Grand Prix for Williams. Rosberg

is second. Perez is third, Ricciardo fourth, Vettel lift. In Libs Lewis

Hamilton. It looks as though the Canadian Grand Prix is over for the

British driver. The venue where he has had so much success, where he

was hoping to reclaim the championship lead. This made by

Lewis Hamilton. He is not going to do it. That is the replay of him

running wide at six and seven. That was Rosberg. We knew Hamilton ran

wide there as well. Massa has the gap out to 3.8 seconds. TEAM RADIO:

look after the brakes, your team-mate has a problem, most

important you finish. Massa is in the pits. Not able to do it on a

single stop. What does this do? But Rosberg back in front in a car we

don't think is particularly healthy. Perez will take second place.

Ricciardo will move up into third physician. He will come out behind

his own team-mate, Val tree Bottas. Has lost several places. Williams

felt they weren't going to get to the end and it changes again. The

one chasing Rosberg is Sergio Perez. Look how much faster Perez has been

in the last view map -- laps. Danny Care I act seems to be going slowly.

He is going to retire the car. Five seconds, Perez took out of Rosberg

after Rosberg ran over the grass. Perez close to Rosberg. They are

heading around that section. There is Rosberg leading the Grand Prix.

Behind is Perez. This group will be fighting for victory. We still have

20 laps to go. What an incredible Canadian Grand Prix. Over the years

we have seen so many dramas at this track and this is turning into a

classic. Perez, fending off Ricciardo. Now they are all in the

hunt. Daniel Ricciardo... Braked dust coming of Rosberg's car. It

does look as though Mercedes are critical on brakes. He is trying to

look after this car. It is a chance for Rosberg to gain points over

Hamilton. Will the car get to the end? Will he give up places and

nurse it through to the end? It may be premature. Mercedes are finding

out what happens when you let your guys race hard. That is Hamilton

running wide at ten. In Melbourne 98, it was a bitter pill to swallow.

But it was based on the fact we knew the car was fast but knew it was

unreliable. They held us to a certain pace. Hamilton misses the

corner. That is the point the brakes failed. Initially it looked like

contact but to me it looked like a systematic failure. The smoke I saw

I thought was tyres rubbing, was the rear brake. TEAM RADIO: Rosberg is

just one second ahead. Very slow on the straights. Ricciardo, what a

chance for him, but what about Sergio Perez rushed marquee could

also produce the best results of his career. Tom, we knew brakes will

take a pounding in Canada, but it is a surprise and Mercedes are in so

much trouble? Williams were reporting yesterday during Friday

prayer is they had problems on Massa's car. It is an issue up and

down the field. We have had problems with brakes in Canada, but not to

the extent we are seeing here. They have got on top of it in recent

years but this rape by wire, the electrical recovery systems

the brake temperatures are OK and is being told to push where he can. His

last lap was more can additive. So is this one. Pursuers only managed

to gain about three tenths of a second. Front left locked up in turn

his tyres are more tired. He did a long stint on the super softs. TEAM

RADIO: you are a plus for on Hulkenberg. He has got to judge this

carefully, Sebastian Vettel. When you want to get into the hunt it is

difficult to just drop back and look after the tyres. But Vettel isn't

the four-time world champion for nothing. He knows what it takes.

Hulkenberg is under four seconds behind in fifth. Bottas is in sixth

and Williams running six and seven. Button is ninth, Vergne is in 10th,

Magnusson is 11th. We have lost a number of cars. But it is open as to

who will win it. We know Nico has been told to try and make a gap in

the first and second sector. We also know he is down from top speed with

what other issue he has got. That is where he will be vulnerable this

afternoon. Holding that neatly at the moment. 22.1 against 22.7 from

Perez. Rosberg is getting some breathing space. That will be closed

up as they get into the last sector. That matches the best sector we have

seen. Pretty impressive from Rosberg. Maybe he has had to relearn

to drive the car. We can see on the graphic, there is no power use by

Rosberg. 160 horsepower available if you can get a full recharge.

Ricciardo chasing after Perez. Vettel was sliding a bit out of the

last corner. Rosberg maintaining the edge. .6 of a second only the gap.

There is Christian Horner. He has two cars in the top four. TEAM

RADIO: where do you think is the most likely place for a pass, we can

work out the energy around it. Interesting we have not heard the

replied. It would be like playing poker with an open hand. Let's see

if it works. They need a bit of extra from somewhere to get past the

Force India. Perez come on his day can deliver fabulous performances

like this. We saw it when he was at Sauber. Why didn't he do it at

McLaren. He is a driver who is sensitive to the environment. The

team have said his work ethic, he came by with a reputation of maybe

not being the hardest working. He puts in as much time, if not more as

Nico Hulkenberg. We know from his career at Sauber he was amazing to

do amazing things on one set of tyres. Ricciardo's tyres are not

that much younger, about three laps. Sebastian Vettel is a lap older, his

tyres, then Ricciardo. Not a massive amount of difference. It looks as

though the Red Bull has got more cornering speed where is the Force

India has got more straight-line speed. As expected. It is working

here in Canada where it is all about the straight line speed. Rosberg, he

did exactly the same time as Perez and Ricciardo who are chasing.

The qualifying difference between the Red Bull and Force India was 0.9

seconds. Red Bull is a faster car. Great job once again from the Force

India team. Perez doesn't seem to make any mistakes. Rosberg has gone

fastest of all the first sector as the fuel burns away, the tyres are

holding up well for stop trying to drive carefully on the brakes. The

slide therefrom Perez. You can see Hulkenberg, Bottas, they race for

this position. Raikkonen outside the points after that spin. Kevin

Magnussen, the driving as I conduct with a couple of times a year, the

gap is 11 seconds between them. Great shop as they fast pasta

berries. -- great shot as they flash past the barriers. Sebastian Vettel

having lost out at the pit stop, deep frustration. Just got to sit

and wait and see what is the making day.

Qualifying through the speed trap, Perez was seven miles an hour faster

than the two Red Bull cars behind him. RADIO: we need to pass, our

battery is getting low. I am quicker than that.

Williams did bring in team orders earlier this year and then very much

regretted it and all the drivers they were going to let each other

race but Felipe Massa is a newer tires than Bottas. He does have a

much faster car. Williams going to impose any team orders or are they

going to let them get on with it? Hulkenberg, surely, could be under

threat from Felipe Massa. Alonso is watching this battle, a

sobering position in eighth place. He will be ready to capitalise on

any mistakes made. Two separate groups here. All racing inside the

top ten. Rosberg, with a one second advantage over Perez, Ricciardo and

Sebastian Vettel. Then there's back to Hulkenberg, the two Williams of

Bottas and Massa,. Jenson Button a second behind a screen. Lonely race

at the moment. He has got a six second advantage over America.

Magnussen 11th, Wrekenton Mike Batt Raikkonen.

Those are the 15 cars are still running in this Grand Prix. A little

bit like Monaco, more of a race of attrition, some of the other ComRes,

we lost to Marussia cars on the opening lap. RADIO: is what

positions as we can. Bottas try to go down the insightful stop

Hulkenberg is the position back. Massa takes full advantage. Massa

will have a go Hulkenberg as well. He will take fifth place. He does

very easily in the end. Gets past the Force India of Nico Hulkenberg.

Look out for Alonso on Bottas. The Ferrari is chasing. He is trying to

line up Hulkenberg. Is the Ferrari going to go for it? Not quite enough

space. I could see the red light flashing on the back of the Ferrari.

A lot of vibration on the front right. As a failure? They also that

the same time we did. Why is it vibrating? We will not find out

watching his brother. He is still running in front of

Alonso. He is still running. There is Felipe Massa, pulling away very

quickly. Going on the chase of Sebastian Vettel, five seconds to

make up. Still seems to be going OK at this point. But Felipe Massa on a

fresh tyres for stop remember Hulkenberg is on the super-soft

tyres at the moment. Hulkenberg really struggling on the super-soft

tyres. Wanting to fend of the guys behind him. Bottas has dropped back

little bit. Look like they were bouncing

uncontrollably on the front right. Ricciardo on the attack.

Felipe Massa on the back of the group any testing.

Absolutely flying is a Brazilian, Felipe Massa.

He has set a new fastest lap. Ever second-fastest than these guys. They

are being held up by Rosberg. He is just about managing his pace will

stop here is Felipe Massa. Just over ten maps to go in the Canadian Grand

Prix. Hunting down that leading quartet. RADIO: good job Felipe.

The other thing is he has got excellent straight-line speed. They

are the fastest in the straight-line, him and Bottas.

Sebastian Vettel hunting in the back of Ricciardo. He is wanting some PRS

out of ten. -- DRS. He looked like he was over speeding

there. Over the corner. Getting too close to the back of his team-mate.

Unable to convert it into a gain. You can see in the last couple of

laps how he has gained, just a little bit. You follow another car

closely again, the tyres begin to suffer. Rosberg, still an front foot

coming across the line, he completes lap number 59 for stop he goes on to

lap 60 out of 70, managing the situation. We know there is a

problem with the car, we go on Bob Fernando Alonso now as he goes on

Bottas. Bottas has no response, I think that Alonso takes the for stop

it does seem as though Valtteri Bottas is in some trouble with his

car stop he has been pushed down to eighth position. The de-Espace. --

DRS path. They have got clipping. He certainly had the momentum to get

the past. Jenson Button did 18.9 last time around. A full second

quicker than Rosberg leading this Grand Prix. Only four tenths slower

than the fastest lap of matter. McLaren finding a bit of pace later

in the race. Rosberg having to judge this,

Ricciardo again getting very close to the back of his team-mate for

stop so far, so before Rosberg, managing the situation, driving only

as fast as he needs to do to stay front. Perez is pretty close. He

doesn't have his DRS open. Look how much closer Massa is. The

gap is 2.2 seconds, he took another half a second out of them. Getting

closer and closer. Finally things beginning to come together for

Felipe Massa after suffering a huge amount of bad luck this year. His

first season at Williams, having switched across from Ferrari. He can

just begin to see them now. An opportunity to overtake use that

superior strength and speed. Rosberg, keep an eye on Rosberg. We

know Hamilton is out of this Grand Prix with a brake problem for stop

both of them suffered some sort of our problem. Kenny G be going right

to the end. -- can he keep it going right to the end?

Robert commits it is a victory here in 2008. Jean Alesi took his one and

only went on the circuit. It does throw up some bizarre results

sometimes. Nico Rosberg, the World Championship leader. You see Daniel

Ricciardo pulling over to the right. We know he has been told he has to

the right. We know he has been told he slipstream.

Romain Grosjean out of the Grand Prix. Right rear wing damage. You

see the flag of the rear wing. It has taken a hit someone.

That is not a supporting part, it is just there to carry some sponsor

details but not functioning as designed.

In terms of first victories here, it was your film have after whom the

track is named in 78. Perez, and opportunity for his first-ever win,

Edmonds Ostberg. Tom? I have been in contact with

Williams about Bottas, he is having to manage his garden bridges. 20

degrees today for stop he will be having to go very easy between now

and the end of the race. I wonder if that would affect Felipe

Massa. He is still closing four stop the Williams, the white colours

showing up very clearly. Getting right up to the tail, remember, he

has got great straight-line speed, not to be close enough to attract

Sebastian Vettel. -- attack. It is not beyond the rub is a possibility

that Felipe Massa can work his way up to challenging Rosberg for the

lead. It all depends on how quickly he can find his way through this

traffic. With the car trimmed out for good

straight-line speed he does have more opportunity to do that. Rosberg

copping over the kerb, look at those Felipe Massa is. Again another good

lap. Hulkenberg in the background has done 1:19 .1. Alonso joined to

close the gap to the Force India ahead of it. Interesting Perez

starting on the super-soft tyre, edited to be the better strategy,

Hulkenberg was on a soft tyre. We can see a message being played out

in Massa, telling him to go to multifunction position eight, and

position one. That's as good way. It's is like they are giving him all

the power available this afternoon. RADIO: your tyres are ten maps new

at tyres -- ten laps quicker numbered men in front.

He will have the horsepower, DRS, right and watched to see whether

Felipe Massa can get past Sebastian Vettel as we can demonstrate was the

final chicane. Will he be close enough? Not on the straight. Maybe

on the next one. Sebastian Vettel is taking some charges as well. He just

maintains the gavel stop it will be another lap, at least, for Felipe

Massa. Look how close Rosberg is. Rosberg, the race leader, you can

see how close that opportunity is. NASA contest the champion. -- Felipe
