golf this is in the men's game. The Open Championship at Hoylake just a

few days away and last weekend we were enjoying a fine conclusion in

the Granite city of Aberdeen to the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish

Open. A huge field there, many of them hoping to find you and their

links progress ahead of the Open Championship, all of them keen to

win a title in the home of golf, Scotland. For one or two of them, in

fact three of them, a final opportunity to land a qualifying

spot for Hoylake. The first couple of days were dominated by the trials

and tribulations of broader ramp -- Rory McIlroy. The league was held in

a 3-way tie by Ricardo Gonzalez of Argentina, Kristoffer Broberg of

Sweden, and Scotland's Marc Warren. This is where Rory McIlroy found

itself, six shots off the pace going into the weekend. Let's remind you

of the action on day three. The weather has played its part this

week, strong winds in different directions making the players suffer

times. A bit of a breeze, not in excess of 15 to 20 miles an hour,

but a wonderful afternoon in prospect ahead of us in this third

round. Not quite such a pretty picture earlier on, there is the sea

fog that I was talking about. It does not hang around too long

normally but it does cut visibility fell dramatically. We did have a

stoppage of play, not in the sense that everything was held up, you

could play if you could see, but if you did not see, you did not play.

Great conditions today. I don't think it has been bad conditions

yet. It could get a lot worse up here. Phil Mickelson.

He just had a birdie and an eagle, got to to wonder whether they. --

got to do under for the day. So many things could happen today. A good

two ball on the 13th. Robert is back playing in Europe. He

was fourth last weekend in France, he has had a couple of top tens

recently, so coming back into good form, and I think the board proves

that. Probably had the best back-to-back weeks of his career

this time last year when he won this Championship at Castle Stuart in

Inverness, followed by winning the open at Muirfield. A man of many

talents, as he goes for birdie on nine.

That is OK. 34, 3-under for the Championship. Only three behind.

Back to Robert Karlsson at 13, playing with Rory McIlroy.

Oh, magnificent putt from Carlson. Gets him 6-under, tied at the top.

Former number one in Europe. Luke Donald dropped a shot at the

1st, second and the par-5 second hole. We all know that he is not the

longest it in the game, but even he comfortably makes the green in two

downwind. Three birdies, no bogeys so far.

Great par-3, this. That is an excellent shot. The man named after

Tom Watson. Luke Donald's second shot at the 2nd, for eagle. A

wonderful pace put, Donald. Shane Lowry at the 1st, to convert for

birdie. Almost a bonus if you can birdie

this whole because you have got downwind holes coming up. That is

only the second birdie of the day at the opening hole, which is now the

hardest hole of the course. This is Robert's fourth shot. That was no

easy one. He has played it well, but it will be for bogey.

This ticket for 5-under for Championship, within one of the

lead. A great putt for Tom Lewis, and he gets to 5-under par, one shot

behind. They call Saturday moving day. The unfortunate thing about

moving day is that you can move into directions, up or down, but Lewis

has gone the right way. Robert Karlsson to drop only one at 14.

Having just got in to share the lead, he drops straight back out

again. So, then there were three. Warren,

Broberg, Gonzales, just about to begin their third round.

This for birdie, should break left-to-right.

Excellent start for Mikko. That is incredible. He is 4-under and has

only had five birdies. That is very steady golf on links. McIlroy on the

16th. That is magnificent. Wonderful shot

from Rory that was a huge drive down 16.

He has a swing I enjoyed, Marc Warren. And up and down player, but

has won a couple of times, including a World Cup with Colin Montgomery. A

wonderful fluency, I think. Looks nothing more than a 6-iron here.

Might even be an eight. Which, of course, these days, is like a six.

The beautiful par-3 17th. Potter in hand for Robert Karlsson. It is the

first time we have used the top tier all week on this par-3. Marc Warren,

rounds of 67, 69. Get a slightly better angle and he can at least hit

this into the breeze. He has got a long way to go. 165 to

the front, another 26 places added to that. About 190 odd yards to go.

Crosswind from the right. Oh, what a cracker. What a cracker!

Lower Fir Park, into the final hole today. -- laugh about.

558 yards, par-5, giving good an iron. It is a very narrow hole, but

I would always hate to do this. Bounding along, but he got lucky. I

would rather go with a driver. This is a tough hole today. This for

a birdie three. And the outright lead. There you go. Just four

birdies at the opening hole, none better than that. They are so

confident, laid-back. They know it is a big shot, just over 190 yards

to go, but a gorgeous second shot. Well done. Golf is fun when it is

going well. Par-5 second. Gonzalez to get the lead.

at about quarter to nine. Should have been sitting down to dine. A

cracking shot. He might just get the lead back. Come on, hurry.

Tyrrell Hatton, chance for a birdie at the 5th. And a home run, right in

the middle. He has already made a couple of good putts today. Yes, he

should smile after that. Golf is fun when it is going well. That was a

great 5-iron second shot, and there is nothing in this putt, slightly

downhill. Well done, lovely eagle three. It is

hard but you have to try not to make putts to important. You have got to

try to treat them the same way. A lot of good shots today. Six at 14

really hurt the cause, out of 31. Still, 67, a fine round. McIlroy pop

sitting 68, so a good group to have gone out with earlier. -- tops it

in. The Friday blues from Rory McIlroy. Just praying over 200

yards, just a square green. Hold 20 paces from the front.

David Howell, with his back to us. This for two, a great one to make.

Once again, he is really fun to watch.

Quickly to 13th and the birdie putt for Phil Mickelson. Yes, gets him

within four. Well done. He has never really lit up throughout the week.

It has been a good week for Mickelson. Forced him to focus on

the shot in hand. Look at the leaderboard, an amazing eagle at the

2nd for Ricardo Gonzalez. Could be a good week for Argentina, you never

know, with the World Cup final. It was good, I did not get off to a

great start. After the second, I played solidly. Four birdies, no

bogeys. I didn't really put myself into much trouble, so much better

today. Gonzalez on the third, par-3. Along

we left. -- a long way left. Lovely line, the speed is good. Hit a good

putts in the first, a glorious shot to make illegal.

Playing straight downwind, slightly befuddled. What happened there?

Tyrrell Hatton has got away to a wonderful start and now has an equal

opportunity at the par-5/6. -- par-5 sixth.

A nice start there, three birdies in the first six holes. Gonzales after

a nice chip, this was part on three. It looks dead straight. Well done,

it could save therefore Ricardo. He will stay 8-under. A fine start,

2-under. Back to the fourth, David Howell found the bunker.

I think it's just ran into the bunker. Tyrrell Hatton on the

eighth. A great day. Oh, that is a terrible one for him. One of the

unmentionables. Good effort, a touch more speed

might have held its line. First bogey of the day for David

Howell, goes back to 5-under, 1-under for the day. Marc Warren,

tournament leader, in great shape. That is a good shot. You can see all

of the slopes there, it is all down, downwind, you can't really get

close. Let it bounce up, just like that.

Magnificent shot. He will have that for eagle. Very strong player. Had a

win in Ireland a couple of weeks ago at the Irish Open.

He is forever young, that is going to happen a lot in your career. Open

Medea, just not getting with one hand, nonchalantly. Until you miss

one, then you will never do it again! -- just knock it in. As it

was yesterday, the fifth is pretty narrow, but if they land it in that

it will bounce down to different bunker -- down to the front bunker.

To far right, maybe? What a bounce. What a bounce. Isn't it wonderful?

It is a fantastic shot. 3-wood, middle of the green, putt for eagle.

A couple of putts have poked out, but a good try.

A funny putt here, if you started left it will go right, started right

it will go left. He is aiming with a bit of right. Could be another

birdie. This did get to 6-under. You cannot

stop their! I love it when the ball appears to sink into the Potter.

Very good, excellent stuff. He goes to 9-under par, one clear of Marc

Warren. Craig Lee, this for birdie. Twice and runner-up, Craig Lee, on

Tour. A very good player, Craig. Played well down in South Africa,

always good to have him down there. David Howell at the par-5 sixth.

Look at this, this could finish stiff as well. Grand.

This is a must make putts for Phil if he wants to be in contention at

the end of the day. CROWD GASPS

Not a good one, pushed it. Still, the birdie is a birdie. Craig

Lee from the bunker at 16. He is going to come from the right.

Wonderful putt from Justin Rose. Tap in birdie for the Englishman. Get

the speed upon that, the wind is starting to harm around a little

bit. Gonzales at nine and, Warren at

8-under, and in the, howl and rose. Now has about with the best round of

the day, a splendid 66 for the Spaniard -- Pablo Larrazabal. Must

stay out of these two enormous bunkers, both of the players have.

You have to allow for a big bounce. It kicked in the right direction.

This is perfect. This screen is protected by those

bunkers left and right, but we are not too bad today. A lot of people

think links golf, just hit it down there and allow for the bounce, but

you really must plan where the bounce is going to come from. Each

this about 30 yards short. -- picked. Another wonderful shot. He

has always been a very good ball striker, Marc

On a windy day, you have got to keep yourself as many opportunities as

you can. Needs to take advantage of a few more, though.

A great shot. There is a little shelf there, the ball pitched just

on top of it. This is big for Broberg, equal opportunity at the

sick. -- and eagle opportunity at the sick. Back to where he first

started today. Good chance here for Marc Warren. A

streaky putter, Mark. He knows it was slightly overhit.

Just watch Phil's putt here, he does not want to bogey it again. That has

been the story of his ear. You played well on Thursday, missed a

putt of similar length for a bogey. shape. Just took a little bit of

time. Has come back in the last few years and I would love to see him

win this. Would give him a chance at Ryder Cup also. But we must not get

far ahead of ourselves. How quickly things change.

Impossible to pick a winner. The only hole on the front line when

you laid back into the breeze. -- play. Need to make the adjustment.

The ball further back in the stance. That is the best shots he

has had so far on this front side. Hopefully the final shot from Craig

Lee. That is a very welcome return to top form.

Ever tried that, some? I have. But it was off the back of a

boat, so not quite the same thing. Kristoffer Broberg, three birdies in

a row. He moves to eight under. A player still looking for his first

win. This would be one heck of a save. Downhill, right to left, back

into the wind. Good try. You cannot fault the/ -- stroke.

Marc Warren. This narrows the gap. Watch out for this young man, Tyrell

Hatton, in his rookie year. There is a lot of pressure on young

players turning professional now, both sides of the Atlantic.

This is for a bogey four Ricardo Gonzalez. His first dropped shot.

This should break from the left, but not too much. Should be influenced

by the shoulder of the encore on the right. -- bunker.

Two birdies, no bogeys. Hatton sinks another one, the

youngster. We were pumping out players a decade ago but now a

little bit of a lull. That is good. Just over a little

mound. He knows he got away with it. More of an upper body movement from

Gonzalez. That was right online. 44 years old, the man from Rosario.

Playing beautifully. Shane Lowry. The boys from Northern Ireland, they

know how to move it around on a windy day. Nice position for Justin

Rose to pick up another birdie. Uphill, right to left. Two in a row.

Gonzalez, to match Rose. He moves within one of Marc Warren.

Well done, Shane. Already twice a winner on the European tour. She has

found a really good level of consistency during the last 18

months. -- he. The leader, Marc Warren. Just left of the flag. It

has helped up in the wind OK. -- held up. The position from where

Justin Rose made his putt. That gets David Howell back to five under.

Five behind. You like that kind of shot, a little bit downhill.

Beautiful. I imagine the Scotsman will be happy. I will get it in my

ear from Doody and Sam Torrance! -- Dougie.

It is a little colder than earlier. You can see how horrid this grass

is. It really depends on the life. -- lie.

She cannot go at the back right location. -- he. That is all he

could do. It has rolled on. But this one is terrible. Really shallow, the

wrath will grab the shaft. -- rough. There you go. A shake of the

head. It will be some up and down just to get in on five.

Genius! He is too young to be that good!

All of the Aberdonians. Good day to watch the golf. And some ability! A

third in a row for Justin Rose. It is England versus Scotland at the

moment. Gonzalez. No movement on this one. But he

needs to make it when his playing companion is putting away birdies

right, left, and centre. He had a great read but was just not

quite firm enough. David Howell, this is for bogey. What a shame. He

was going along so nicely and that is three shots gone in two holes.

Slightly obstructed view for Kristoffer Broberg. Just comes up a

little bit. It is fine though. A fairly straight putt.

Look at this beautiful angle into the pin. Great chance for Marc

Warren. Excellent shot. Great chance again for him. Had a great chance of

winning at Castle Stuart a couple of years ago. She is back trying again.

He. Justin Rose, deliberately laid up just in front of a little hazard.

That is the worst shot we have seen from him today. A horrid spot.

Kristoffer Broberg for his birdie at 13. He would just break a touch from

right to left. Nothing to fear. Extremely quick. And it is a great

putt. What a good birdie. And a snazzy pair of shoes with a

purple accent! I know that you have a per like that in your closet,

Sam! Chance... Just a little bit

aggressive. You ask yourself, why did I hit it so hard?

Justin Rose, trouble at 14. Kristoffer Broberg just went to

nine. And well done, Marc Warren. Justin Rose is in trouble. Great

stuff from Marc Warren. Six under today. We go back to Rose now. He

has been lucky with that lie. It could have cost him all sorts of

problems. Fortunately he has a putt for par.

Remember the name, Tyrell Hatton. Just laying up here. No danger in

the tee shot. Just knock it up the fairway. Straight in the bunker?

That was a poor shot. Here we go. On the left-hand side it is 240 until

the ditch starts. Another 20, at least, to carry it on the left side.

He has ripped it. Is it a little right? It is magnificent. If you can

do that, it is worth it. Trouble is, you might only do it once out of

ten. What a great shot, he got away with it. This would be like stealing

after that second shot. A5 is probably what he deserves. --

a five. 190 yards to the pin you're probably. Just don't get greedy,

except your punishment. -- accept. Second toughest hole on the course.

Down the right. Is it a drawing back? Hopefully. That is OK. A very

good shot from Marc Warren. Just a huge tee shot. You should not need

to be greedy from that close. Very few birdies her -- here. An

excellent chance for three here at a tough 14th. Perfect position,

straight into the wind, he will try to take this lower. I was just about

to say, that did not sound like the best strikes. But it bounces

beautifully. That is why you do not see any big, deep divots. Marc

Warren, without a bogey so far. A very good effort. A shot dropped,

but not a disaster. Helps him get within one. How

quickly things change. We have got a real tussle. It just tilted to the

left. That never looked anything other

really dived to the right, it had a slight pull. An aim, you just need

that little bit of pace. But a good round all the same. They find a's

position with those bunkers. There is an idea of the swing path and the

flight of the ball. Beautiful. It certainly is. Now, the reader. --

the leader. We go away to the right. Bunker bound. He got a good break.

round. Marc Warren leading by one. For how much longer?

Well done. Worthy of the applause. Justin Rose, from 171 with the wind

coming from the left. What a shot. He has somehow made five goodies on

this homeward nine. Very bold and positive strokes all the time. That

was too bold. Thus, for 65. It was not the best he has hit all day, by

any means. But still looks to be in splendid

form and the progression is good. Kristoffer Broberg has a little bit

to do at 17. He did not start that in the middle. I like to see a

little lag. Slap, bang in the middle.

Six under, still won't be out of it. The Argentinian. He has not shot

over par all week. Back to the tee. The tracer again

for Marc Warren. That is in the bunker, I would think. Every chance.

Which way is he going to come out? He will need to be careful with that

wispy rough. If you try to be cute and just catch it coming out... In

the end, well done. But it really was a risky shot. Foxes. The pin is

right in the middle of the green. Another cracking shot. Just a little

longer. Well done. He has gone up and down. That should be a good

line. Oh. There is good rhythm in this/ --

stroke but it has pulled away to the left. A nasty one.

comes back well, the sweet, -- Swede, he will be one behind going

into the final round. Marc Warren and Justin Rose will

play together in the final day. They are leading the Scottish Open by

one. Today was as good as I have played

for a long time. I felt like I got close many times, on a links course

that is tough. Very happy with the way my game has progressed

throughout the week. I played well and control but I was

doing. I was a little bit scrappy towards the end and landed in the

bunkers, effectively a 1-shot penalty around here, I gave myself a

good chance that a team, but it was not to be. But in a great position,

a very exciting position as well. The final days shaping up as a

classic England-Scotland match up. Home hopes resting on Marc Warren.

He came very close to years ago. There has not been a Scottish winner

of this event since 1999. Plenty others in hot pursuit. A real scrap

developing for the remaining Open Championship qualifying spots. This

was to be quite a final day. COMMENTATOR: The wind has dropped to

a maximum of 15 miles an hour, certainly not that at the moment.

Not particularly warm, but this great old links course really has

been one of the stars of the week, the players thoroughly enjoying the

unique challenge of links golf, especially this one at Royal

Aberdeen. The sixth oldest golf club in the world. Felipe Aguilar set a

new course record. First set on Thursday by Rory McIlroy. 63, a

stunning performance by the Chilean. It shows what can be done

on this final round. Well done, Robert. Former European

number one. Lost his card recently, now back playing on the European

Tour. McIlroy on three for birdie. Mr shot on one for birdie, did not

birdie the second. Can he get a birdie here? Jess, he can. Get

himself to 4-under. Huge crowds following this young superstar.

A magnificent shot, absolutely magnificent. He will have that for

eagle. Birdied the first, so a great start for Robert. The defending

champion at the par-5 sixth. Yes, well done. Missed the fairway

with his second, got up in the rough. 3-under after six, a good

start for Phil. We saw Robert Karlsson's fantastic second, he

birdied the first... Oh, dear, dear, Robert. He will be very

disappointed, but it is a birdie - birdie start. 6-under. This is the

final day of the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open 2014. On

Seven years since his last win on the Tour. He certainly will not lack

support, that is the shore. -- that is for sure.

Both in a dark blue top and white trousers. This boy swings it as good

as anyone on the planet. It will be a tough day for Marc Warren today.

We all hope the Scotsman wins, but it will be tough to beat this man.

The change in the weather will certainly suit Justin because he was

struggling yesterday, what a sort of hay fever sinusitis condition, which

is why he wore sunglasses all day yesterday, she was really pretty

uncomfortable, but the damp weather has made it much more pleasant for

Justin, he does not need his sunglasses at the moment. Pablo

Larrazabal second into the par-5. Three good rounds, one bad one for

Paul Casey. Pablo Larrazabal with an Three good rounds, one bad one for

eagle shot at the 2nd. A great three for the Spaniard.

Much kinder conditions for you today. If you are out there trying

to shoot low scores on a links course, this is your day.

Justin Rose from 208. Pretty shallow here, only 18 deep.

Certainly starting around is a firm favourite to go on and take the

title, Justin Rose. How could it be otherwise, with his recent record?

Not a wonder. So far. Marc Warren has 186. It will help being 20 yards

closer, that's for sure, to such a shallow target. Ball slightly below

his feet here. That's OK, it will feed right back

around and come within eight feet. A great jot for Marc Warren. A good

start. Settle the nerves. Does not matter who you are, you get nervous

on the first tee. Outstanding scoring today in the final round of

the Scottish open. The final pair now on the golf course. A nice tight

lie here, the green is about shoulder level to Justin, and is not

a small man. Just an iron for his second into the

par-5. You know he wins the US open by

umpteen shots and he is capable of anything. As is this man. A hard

earned for the Justin Rose at the opening hole. -- a hard earned four

for Justin Rose. It group of players at 6-under.

The final pair both make their fours on the first.

Struck that beautifully. Excellent shot. Shane Lowry, another man who

has made a lot of birdies this week. Right up there alongside Warren and

Broberg. And nearly straight in! Well done, Tyrrell Hatton. A nice

birdie at the 2nd. He is one of the non-exempt players for next week, he

would love to get one of those three spots.

That is a narrow strip of fairway he is in! An excellent shot from

Robert. Great comeback from his bogey on four, birdied the first

three, bogey on four, looks like a birdie on five. Mikko Ilonen.

The new Irish Open champion. He is now within three. Phil Mickelson at

ten, a birdie chance from the fairway. Great shot from Phil

Mickelson. It is pretty easy around the green

here. If you are straight online it should keep mostly forward, just a

little bit from the right. This will be about controlling the distance

out of this wet rough with the ball so far above his feet.

Justin Rose has never won on a Scottish links, so let's see if he

can put that right today. Well done, Scott. Mickelson made his

birdie at ten, incidentally, so Phil Mickelson moves to 6-under, Scott

Jamieson a tender, and now we have 17 players within four shots. --

Scott Jamieson is 8-under. He has made a tonne of birdies this

week. Putting back up the hill is the hard portion so this will be a

slow putt. Just the second time he has herded

the par-5 this week. -- he has birdied. He has not won on the

European Tour since 2007. Nicely done, Paul! That horrible

nine he opened up with yesterday... A good, fighting comeback.

This is a pain to get aggressive with. A huge bank behind it. If you

happen to go a little too far, it will roll right back down to the

green. That will do. Mickelson tries for birdie three at

11. Lovely pas four again. The fairway sits sideways. Broberg right

down the centre. You have got the balance of your

life! Well done. -- the bounce. Just about there. This has a little

bit of a downhill element to it. But he will be breaking from left to

right. Not a tremendous amount of break. There you go, he has hated.

-- he has hit it. He has been slow to start, each around he has

played, and I think with a fortunate birdie in the dirt, look out for

Justin Rose. Now, Broberg. Much needed. He said yesterday, four

wins on the challenge Tour, very aggressive on that side yesterday.

You never know. I like the way he goes about it, he is very positive

in everything he does out there. You have got to hang around, you cannot

just look at Justin Rose. Given the event from that situation, world

ranking pedigree, you have to tell yourself it means nothing, you have

to make the shots. Paul Casey hunkers down for another birdie

putt. What a terrific ground he is 13

together. A pity about those couple of drops shots the other day.

How did that not go in? Mikko Ilonen. His second at the par-4

seven. Down the hill, difficult to pick a target into the screen.

Don't miss it now, knock it in. There you go. A good birdie. A bonus

for the man who is going very well. Right in the middle, that'll do

nicely. Another Scotsman going well. You are just trying to win over the

Scots today, argue? Now, Justin Rose. 129, nice flat life.

A little shy, but not bad. Rose is in full bloom at the moment. Stephen

Gallacher for a birdie three. There you go.

Just the one dropped shot there. Robert Karlsson for a birdie two.

Just keep that triangle. Big tall guy, six foot five. A lovely putting

triangle. That is when he was 12! Good putt. This putt from Rose is

downhill. Very little breaking it. The pace, the strokes, the distance

control on his putting right now, throughout the week, has been

phenomenal. Looking very good, once again. Oh, yes, sir. Brilliant start

from Justin Rose. He is phenomenal, I have been a huge admirer of his

for a long time. One of the best swings in the world, he really is

such a competitor. Tyrrell Hatton for his eagle on sixth. This would

put him into a tie for second. Append out as soon as he hit it.

Still, it is a tap in birdie. Another awkward tee-shots.

Dramatically good. A difficult drive, this one, to miss the bunkers

down there. It can get you in terrible trouble. Warren has a

pretty good lie out there, on an upslope. 254 all the way to the

whole, to 26 to the front edge. -- 226.

Bunker? Difficult to cut the ball and an upslope, though. Very

is playing at the moment, the amount of times he is hitting the ball flag

high, a slightly softer bounce that he has dialled in. Matteo Manassero

some parts fall into place. Staying patient is the hardest thing to do

when you are in that position. But another good birdie chance. Rickie

You don't want to mess with the bunkers. Take the trouble out of

play. That is the first bad shot I have

seen from him in a long time. He has actually gone the other

direction and overcooked it. He tried a high, floppy one. It is the

time of the round where if you are going to take chances, this is it.

A difficult shot from back here. Needed to be more aggressive. He has

played that well. Should get away with four.

It is not a fair fight when he is in the bunker.

Some sand on top of the ball but it will not interfere with the impact

area. Currently 11 under. This is to get

to 12. He needs to get some reality into his life. Things happen on a

golf course, they do not always go the way they should.

Up until now, before this bogey, we have only had three between the top

ten of the leaderboard. Quite phenomenal and is testing a golf

course as this. -- on as. From that distance you have got to

be looking inside ten feet. The wind is coming from the right, everything

is in his favour. So that is a big mistake at the wrong time. Up ahead

to 18. Ten under, tied for fifth place.

Five at the last, and a round of 66. This is a tricky one. It looks as if

he is trying to lift it up again. Very well played. Great escapes on

the last couple of greens. That should save his par. He will stay

two behind. Are you surprised at where he landed

that? Not really. He was going for the front edge, I think.

From the right side, Kristoffer Broberg. He is showing a good array

of skills this week. And some good nerves.

Just and will be desperate to put this away in two. -- Justin. It just

tailed off a wee bit. It leaves a testing putt for his par. This looks

to be on a great line. Get up, get up... Get in, get in... Oh, my

goodness gracious me! That will change everything! This is not over.

Justin Rose will have heard the roar and know that something has

I have been very impressed with Kristoffer Broberg this week. Very

open next week, knowing he is in it now.

Justin Rose, we expect to put this in for par and retain his lead with

two to play. Very good up and down. He has been rock solid today. Six

birdies. 16 under, two clear, looking good.

Tyrell Hatton has also played well today. This for a par. He must be

careful with a spot at the open in play here. Well done. A very

impressive performance by V-22 rolled Englishman, in his rookie

year in the European tour. -- the 22-year-old. That will take him to a

major championship at the end of the year.

A ring of bunkers around the 17th green. But this looks good, very

good. Phil Mickelson doing what he does.

Obliging everybody, signing autographs, that is why he is one of

the most popular players in the game, wherever he plays. It was good

to see him finally win in the UK, on a links course, last year, Castle

Stuart. There is not a great deal in this.

There you go. That will give the locals something to cheer. Stephen

Gallacher is also a Scotsman and shot a course record earlier in the

day. A few reasons for Scotland to cheer today. Kristoffer Broberg.

Second place. He has become one to be admired. One more good swing. You

could not plan it any better. Most impressive. The shot of a champion.

The clean lie helps. Justin Rose. Extremely likeable, a

popular figure. Taking in the applause of the crowd around the

18th. Delighted to add another title to his impressive resume. And will

be particularly pleased to win for the first time as a professional on

a Scottish links course. Some of his triumphs include the best courses in

the world and now he adds Royal Aberdeen.

Scotland would like another reason to put their hands together, if this

could go in for Marc Warren. Come on, roll it out. That is Kate Rose,

over with their children. They would like to see this one go in and even

though it will not affect his position in the championship. That

is a shame. A bogey. But he stays in third place.

The proud owner of one major championship. This would be the

first win since 2007 on home soil. That is good enough. It really has

been a masterclass from Justin Rose. All rounds in the 60s. Camera is

ready in the background to capture the winning moment.

week, alcoholic? -- at Hoylake? In the meantime he will just enjoy

this. One of the most prestigious titles on the European tour. He

celebrates with his family. What a performance for the new number three

player in the world. And now we can add Open Championship qualifying to

all of the players in the top ten. The last three places for Hoylake

have been taken. You guys are some of the best

supporters to play in front of. You understand the game better than

anybody and it is a true privilege to play in front of you. The next

time I will be in Scotland will be the Ryder Cup, hopefully you will be

loud and proud. I have not had much luck in The Open Championship, so I

thought I would put this on my schedule, and so far, so good. I
