Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open had the makings of a classic

England-Scotland jewel on the final day full stop Justin Rose going for

back to back victories after his recent victory at the Congressional

in America whilst home hopes rested on Marc Warren who came so close to

landing this two years ago. Scotland still without a Scottish open winner

since 1999. 12 men came within six shots of the living mark of ten

under par. And the real scrap for the remaining qualifying squats --

spots for the open next week. Let's enjoy the final days action from the

classic links at Royal Aberdeen in the Granite city. This great old

links course has been the stars of the week.

Royal Aberdeen, the sixth oldest golf club in the world. 64 set only

on Thursday by Rory McIlroy and Felipe Aguilar on 64 B. 's bowling

performance by the man from Chile. The tall figure of Robert Karlsson,

for a birdie. Rory Mcilroy on three four birdie.

Can he get his round going here yes, he can. He has a huge following,

this young superstar. Robert Karlsson with his second shot to the

par-5 second hole. An awkward stance. That is a magnificent shot

from Robert Karlsson, absolutely mad investment. -- absolutely

magnificent. Great start for Robert. This is a birdie chance for the

defending champion at the par-5/6 hole. Well done. His second was up

in the rough. He still makes birdie, three under after six, good start

for Phil Mickelson. This is for his eagle, Robert Karlsson. The, dear,

dear, Robert. Nothing worse than a 12 foot putt for an eagle and you

leave it short, but it is a birdie- birdie start. Six under and fall

behind. Ladies and gentlemen, the final game of the Aberdeen Asset

Management Scottish open 2014. On the tea from Scotland, Marc Warren.

APPLAUSE 67, great golf so far this week from

Marc Warren. Seven years since his last win on the tour. You will

certainly not lack support that is for sure.

That is an excellent opener for Marc Warren. On the tee shot from

England, Justin Rose. These two have not had the "what are you wearing

tomorrow? Those quotes conversation, obviously! The dark blue of

Scotland, and white trousers. Justin Rose is playing as good as anyone on

the planet. It is going to be tough for Marc Warren to beat this man.

The change in the weather will suit Justin Rose. He was struggling

yesterday. He has a hay fever condition. That is why he wore

sunglasses. He was pretty uncomfortable. But the damp weather

has made it more pleasant for Justin Rose. He does not need the

sunglasses at the moment. He drove that into some thick rough. Much

kinder conditions for you today. This is wonderful. If you want to

try and shoot a low score on a links course, this is your day. There is

no wind at all right now. It is a pretty shallow push onto the green

year, it is only 18 deep. -- the green here.

Certainly starting the round as a firm favourite to go on and take the

title, Justin Rose, it couldn't be otherwise with his recent record,

but it is not a wonderful start so far. Marc Warren at 186. It is going

to help being ten yards closer to such a shallow target.

That is OK. This will feed right back around and come in, to about

eight feet. It is a great shot from Marc Warren. Good shot. Good start.

Settle the nerves. No matter who you are, you get nervous on the first

tee shot. And the final pair out on the golf course. This is a nice,

tight light, the green is at the green is at about shoulder level for

Justin. -- tight life. -- lie. capable of anything. This man. That

was a hard earned four for Justin Rose at the opening hole. Rory

McIlroy made his birdie so he -- he is now at six under. A big group of

Wales at six under. Robert Karlsson. -- group of players at. The final

pair, both making fours on the first. He struck that beautifully.

Excellent shot, there. Shane Lowry. He has made a lot of birdies this

week. Right upper alongside Marc Warren and Kristoffer Broberg, and

nearly straight in. -- right up there.

Well done to Tyrell Hatton. Nice birdie at the second. He is one of

the non-exempt players at next week. He would love to finish in one of

those three spots. This is the one that you can drive, the second from

Robert Karlsson. It is a very narrow strip of fairway that he is in. That

is an excellent shot from Robert. Great comeback from his bogey on

four. This is a birdie chance for Mikko Ilonen.

The new Irish open champion. He is now within three. This is a birdie

chance from the fairway. Almost an eagle chance. Great shot from Phil

Mickelson. The ball is sitting well, but it is well above his feet.

Straight online, it should kick mostly forward just a little bit

from the right. This is about controlling the distance from the

wet rough with the balls are far above his feet. -- the ball so far.

APPLAUSE That is OK. He has won tournaments

on some of the great courses in the world, Justin Rose, but he has never

won on a Scottish links course, so let's see if he can put that right

today. Well done, Scott, and Phil Mickelson moves to 6-under par.

Scott Jamieson on 8-under and we now have 17 players within four shots.

Paul Casey now. He has made a tonne of birdies this week. If it wasn't

for nine on the opening hole yesterday he would have been right

in the thick of things. He's puffing back up the hell on the right side

of the green. It is going to be a slowish putt. The second time he has

had a birdie at that par-5 this week. There is not one on the

European Tour since 2007, that was the year that he was on the money

list. Trying to make another birdie. Nicely done, Paul. He has had a

couple of dropped shots and that horrible nine he opened with

yesterday. But this is a fighting comeback.

Lovely par four again. He has missed the fairway. Kristoffer Broberg

write down the centre. 446 yards. Doesn't quite play that long.

You have got the bounds of your life! Well done. -- bounce. Down the

hill into 17. Playing 181 today. Dead calm. At the back of the green.

18 paces in. Just about there. This is a little bit of downhill. He will

be breaking from left to right. Pretty flat, not a tremendous amount

of break. There you go. This is interesting,

he has been slow to start. He has come back on the back nine.

Fortunate birdie at the 2nd and a ripper to hole at the 3rd.

Kristoffer Broberg. Much needed. Four wins on the Channel challenge

Tour. I like the way he goes about it. He is very positive. You cannot

look at Justin Rose and give him the event from that situation. This is

world ranking pedigree, tell yourself it means nothing and make

them play the shots. Paul Casey hunkers down for another birdie

putt. Just like that. What a terrific round he is putting

together, just a pity about the dropped shots on the back nine.

Scorecard littered with birdies. Third shot for Phil Mickelson. How

did that not go in? Down the hill. Difficult to pick a

target into this green. How about this way? All the way along the

ground. He will love that. That is exactly what I meant. The only way

to play that shot. Scott Jamieson. Second shot off the par four 13.

Look at this. Superb. Don't miss it. Good birdie. Bonus.

The man is going very well. Scott, you found the green and two. This

one is right in the middle. That will do nicely. Another Scotsman

going well. You are just trying to win the Scots over today. Now,

Justin Rose. 129, nice, flat line. Little shy, but not bad. Justin Rose

in full bloom at the moment. Stephen Gallacher for a birdie three and he

is putting together a very fine round. There you go. Scott Jamieson

and he is playing together. Just the one dropped shot. Robert Karlsson

for a birdie two. It just keeps the triangle. Tall, six. Lovely putting

triangle. That is when he was 12. Kristoffer Broberg tries for an

eagle at six. Good putt. This putt for Justin Rose is a little bit

downhill. The pace in his stroke and the distance control in his team

right now, throughout the week, has been phenomenal. Looking good once

again. Brilliant start from Justin Rose. He is phenomenal. I have been

a huge admirer of his for a long time. One of the best swings in the

world, but he is such a competitor. Tyrrell Hatton. This would put him

into a tie for second. Still, it is a tap in birdie. Robert Karlsson.

Nice par four. Another awkward tee shot.

Dramatically good. Also a difficult drive this one to miss the bunkers.

You can get in terrible trouble. He has a pretty good lie. It is on an

upslope. 226, to the front edge. Bunker? Difficult to cut the ball on

an upslope. We see his ball in the middle of the bunker. Not too bad.

234 and 206, to the front edge. This is nothing more than a smooth

5-iron. Lovely kick to the right. This is extraordinary golf we're

watching from Justin Rose. He seems to be in the moment for every shot.

Nothing is rushed, same preparation for each shot, same pace. Robert

Karlsson. This for another birdie. Well done, it is a wonderful nine

holes. That is including a drop shot. Six birdies and a drop shot. I

have had a good look and it is not a bad position from work he was. The

nominal lie. Straightforward bunker shot. It looks so close. It is not

an issue at all. Played a good one. Just got to pop the putt in. Stephen

Gallacher, 8-under. Come on! Well done. They are putting on a show for

the home fans. 7-under par today, Stevie. Bit from the right, Sam.

Only a birdie four Justin Rose and goes to 14-under. Three clear of

Kristoffer Broberg. I wonder where he came from? Big putt for Marc

Warren. Many chances on the first five. This is a must. Well done!

Great putt. Great up and down from the bunker he was in leaves him

11-under par and three behind Justin Rose. Justin Rose off to a flyer.

Great shot. On the front edge of the green. Great golf played by most of

the field today. Mistakes by Hatton and Kristoffer Broberg. He can get

something onto the back of the ball here. Very lofted club. Well done.

He has been so stiff. What a shot. That could have gone in for the same

price. Great second shot from Pablo Lazaro Bal. Just inside left. --

Pablo LarrazAbal. 3-under for the day. Just seemed the most

astonishing shot. He is asking this one to sit. Look at this. Can you

believe these two shots, Sam? These two kids. Young men. Astonishing

play. Stephen Gallacher. Can he get another one? He has, he has! Stevie

Gallagher gets another one. 8-under today. Would like to see Kristoffer

Broberg and his partner. Birdies at nine but a tough par four. That was

safely in. We should have given him this one. Excellent birdie there

from Hatton. He gets himself to double figures. 10-under par. Robert

Karlsson. He adds to it. Rose has 168. They can see all of the green

uphill. 8-iron per Justin Rose. One of the giveaways of how well he

is playing, he is hitting the ball flag high. Matteo Manassero. This

could be his fifth birdie of the round. Everywhere you look, players

making birdies. Scoring has been very impressive. Rickie Fowler for

another. Just the double bogey at nine. Makes up for the bogey at the

previous hole. Nine birdies. It is a fun game. Hole is as big as a

bucket. Another chance to pick one up. Moving slightly from the right.

Would want to start outside right and split the edge. He has birdies

at two, three, five, and six. Out in 31. A masterclass from Justin Rose.

Playing for two wins in a row after his win in the PGA Tour last time

out a couple of weeks back. Shane Lowry can just pop this in. Keep

going, keep going. Double figures. APPLAUSE

Well done to the big man from Co Offaly and Ireland. The spectacular

links course, at Royal Aberdeen. Justin Rose leading as we go into

the back nine. Kristoffer Broberg. The flag is on the back left. That

is going to be horrible now. You can see the upslope. Rickie Fowler is at

16, the second shot for the young American. Go in, then! Wonderful

golf. Interesting choice from the back of 11. We have seen him

chipping this with six ions and seven lines. -- irons. There is a

little depression just in front of him. He could at least have taken

that out of play. I see no ships. That looks as if it is floating in

the air out in the North Sea. Currently three back from Justin

Rose. At least four. And we say that pressure creates cracks. This would

be some two-putt from Stephen Gallacher. He was a little indulge

from the first attempt. And his smile says it all, an amazing round

of 63, ties the new course record. That wobbled a little. The first

bogey today for Kristoffer Broberg. The defending champion out in the

sunshine. Campbell Mickelson finally get a birdie at the hole that has

cost him bogeys? Yes, it can, at last, and Phil Mickelson finishes

with 65. Good the face of the title. No player has ever managed to

successfully defend the Scottish Open, but that is a good week for

Phil Mickelson. Marc Warren has played well. It has been

overshadowed by the play of Justin Rose. It could be different story at

the top part of the leaderboard, and he just needs to keep doing what he

has been doing and hope that those putts fall. Another good birdie

chance for Marc Warren. Rickie Fowler. That is almost unbelievable.

That is a bogey four from nowhere. Surely, this time for Marc Warren.

That is deserved. The familiar look of Rory Mcilroy.

It has been a strange week again for Rory Mcilroy. He opened up with 64.

Coming in to a beautiful late afternoon, early evening in

Aberdeen, with Kristoffer Broberg taking his third into the par-5/12

hole. Playing smart, the ball sitting way

up in the grass. He is lucky that they did not settle down to the

bottom. The spectators like it. He is back

in play, not too much damage done. He shot 64 at a Glasgow course

recently, so he has been in good form for the last couple of weeks

and enjoying links golf. He did the right thing, kept the ball back and

play, with the wedge, to hear. -- here. 12 under par, currently in a

time of Marc Warren. -- in a tie with. He missed a ridiculously short

golf art. He did not make the same mistake. A good week for Rickie

Fowler. He has played well in the first two Majors of the year, the

U.S. Open. Matteo Manassero for birdie. Well

done. The brilliant young Italian. He has been a little bit quite since

last year by his own very impressive standards. A good week this week. He

moves to 10-under par. Justin Rose going wrap down the top of a hogs

back. -- rate down the top. He has no choice but to aim left.

Just under five feet left for Justin Rose. It is looking very easy out

there, 6-under for the round. A 4-shot lead for Justin Rose and

holes running out. It was some lucky bounce for Tyrell Hatton, they could

have gone in the bunker, instead, bounce for Tyrell Hatton, they could

ran right up by the hole. Isn't that a spectacular view of the

city of Aberdeen? A pretty good view for fans of Justin Rose, too. Three

Open Championship places available. At the moment, Kristoffer Broberg,

Tyrell Hatton and Jamieson would take them. This little glass wall is

in front of him. He has got to fly that. That clubbing sound, as the

club bounces off the firm links to earth. -- turf. This is a problem

for Marc Warren. He has done really well.

APPLAUSE Back to Marc Warren. He needs this

one to save par, to stay four behind Justin Rose. And that is a good up

and down from the Scot. The hand on the shoulder from his caddy, Ken.

The bully, the final putt of this year's Scottish Open for Matteo

Manassero. 65. 6-under par, no dropped shots. Rose has an uphill

lie, the ball lying perfectly, a couple of bunkers on the left that

you do not want to mess with. He wants to take this to the right

centre of the green, taking the trouble out of play.

That is the first bad shot I have seen from Justin Rose in a long

time. Just getting in between those two bunkers, determined by the lie.

It has gone on the other direction and he has overcooked it. I think he

tried to hit a high, floppy one. It is that point in the round where he

has to start taking chances, that is it. Maybe he should have taken the

chance off the tee shot. It is a difficult chance. Needs to be a more

aggressive from the tee shot, carry the pitch.

He has played that well. Getting away with four. Justin Rose, a hole

behind, his closest challenger. Plenty of green to work with. Just

let it roll out. He is as good as they come, out of the sand. You

could hear the sound. The ball is sitting well. This is a

bunker shot, uphill. You would not be surprised to see him scaring the

hole. Currently, 11 under, getting the

12, just in time for the third, at the moment. He just needs to get

some reality into his life. Things happen on the golf course, and they

do not always happen the way you think they should.

He did not release the map putter. If he can keep the ball in play.

Justin Rose hasn't won in Europe since 2007. Robert Karlsson has been

in trouble. This is his fourth shot. The top eight on the leaderboard

have only had three bogeys between them today, which is quite a

phenomenon on a testing golf course like this. Kristoffer Broberg. Just

as sand iron. It is a poor one. From that distance you have got to be

looking inside ten feet. Winds coming from the right. Everything

helping in his favour. Big mistake at the wrong time. Now to 18. Robert

Karlsson has been in trouble. This is his fourth shot. 10-under and

tied for fifth. Five at the last, that round of 66. This is a tricky

one. Looks like he is trying to lift it up again. Good shot. Very well

played. Two great escapes in the last two greens. He should save his

par to stay three behind. Shot through the back. I use a

prized where he landed it? He is just a yard short of where he was

trying to land. We saw the lovely chip from the right side for

Kristoffer Broberg. Has showed great skill this week. Pretty good nerve

also on Sunday. Has played well. 4-under for the round. Not much he

can do. Justin Rose. Will be desperate to two putt this. Still

some dangerous holes to come. Three shot lead and another fine putt.

Just tailed off a little bit. We'll be testing putt for his par.

up! Get in! My goodness gracious me. That would have changed everything.

Fantastic birdie the Kristoffer Broberg. We'll go to 14-under. This

is not over. Big putt for Justin. He will have heard the crowd cheering

and will know something has happened. Stay at 16 to keep a two

shot lead. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Never give an inch. That

is the way. 14-under. Make Justin Rose play all the way to the end.

Shane Lowry. Found his game at Wentworth. Has played some good golf

since. He should be proud of that. Justin Rose just two clear of

Kristoffer Broberg, who is on the 18th. Marc Warren is tied third. The

ones without the Claret jug, they look certain to get the spots for

the open. He will be many people's fancy for next week. It is a poor

one. That will be a tricky chip. 208 yards to go.

Come left a little, he is saying. That was a great line, it just

needed to carry a bit more. 40 feet for his birdie. Not a bad score.

Nice kick forward. Beautifully played by Justin Rose. There are the

dolphins out in the North Sea. Isn't that fabulous? Can this go down the

Kristoffer Broberg? I have been very impressed with him this week, Sam?

Very solid young man. Solid golf. Great 66 in the last round. Well

played, young man. He will enjoy the open next week. He knows he is in it

now. 65 to start. 66 today when it was all on the line. It is not done

yet. Justin Rose, we expect him to roll this one in four par and

maintain his two shot lead. Very good up and down. He has been rock

solid today, Justin Rose. Six birdies. 16-under par. Looking good.

Hatton has also played very good today. This now for a par. He has

got to be careful, a spot in the open on the line here. Young

22-year-old. I am sure as a kid he dreamt about playing in the Majors.

Well done to Ralph Hatton, and very impressive performance by the

22-year-old Englishman in his rookie year. He is already at 65 in the

race to Dubai. That will take him into the top 60. There is a ring of

bunkers around the 17th green. This looks good. Very good.

Phil Mickelson is doing what he usually does, signing every

autograph. That is why he is one of the most popular players in the

game, where ever he plays. Nice to see him winning in the UK and good

to see him winning finally on a links course at Cassells to it. I

don't think there is a great deal in this. -- Cassells or at. There you

go. Give the local something to cheer about. Stephen Gallacher shot

the course for a good 63 earlier in the day. Scotland has had a few

reasons to cheer today. Kristoffer Broberg, in second place. Has become

one to be admired. One more good swing.

You could not plan it any better. Most impressive. The shot of a

champion. Clean line helps. -- clean lie. Sounded a little clumpy.

Justin Rose. Likeable and popular figure. Taking the applauds of the

crowd around the 18th. Adding another title to his impressive

resume. Particularly pleased to have won for the first time as a row on a

Scottish links course. The list of courses he has one that is a very

impressive one. Some of the best around the world. Now he adds Royal

Aberdeen. Scotland would like another reason to put their hands

together. another reason to put their hands

in for Marc Warren. Come on. Roll it out. Kate Rose. With Leo and

Charlotte. You would like to see this putt go Owen, even though it

will not affect his position in the Championships. -- go in. That is

ashamed, a bogey five in a round of 70. Stays in third place.

Proud owner of one major Championship. This will be the first

one since 2007. On home soil. It is good enough. It really has been a

masterclass from Justin Rose. Four rounds in the 60s.

Justin Rose. Winner again. Two in a row were Justin. Can he make it

three next week at Hoylake? That will take care of itself, let him

enjoy this moment. One of the most prestigious titles on the European

Tour. Justin Rose can celebrate it with his family. What a performance

by the new number three player in the world. Justin Rose, Scottish

open champion. Now we can add the Claret jug symbol to all of the

players in the top ten because Kristoffer Broberg, to Ralph Hatton

and Scott Jamieson take the last three places for Hoylake. -- Tyrrell

Hatton. You guys are some of the best fans to play in front of. You

understand the game better than anybody. I will be in Scotland,

hopefully it will be the Ryder Cup and you will be loud and proud. I

changed my plans and played Cassel Stuart a few years ago. I have not

had much luck in the open. So far so good. Thank you for putting on a
