to the weekend at the 76th Masters Tournament. Same golf course, as

Masters. Let's first of all reflect on what has been an eventful couple

on day one but this was a wild Tiger from the start. Scrambling

was all he could offer. In the end, nothing could gain, or nothing at

And a final flourish brought to the young star back into the frame.

Rory McIlroy Roy birdied 17 and 18 Augusta began day two and Louis

Oosthuizen continued to creep up the board. -- and Brew continued to

creep up the board. Lee Westwood faltered, the putter failing him

again. A double in -- double bogey in the last, which left him two the

height. Jason Dufner got six birdies to carry him to 5-under at

halfway up. Alongside him was the smooth, lake at silver-haired one.

Fred Couples, champion 20 years ago, always making it look easy, he

strolled G67. But nothing was easy for Tiger. Out of sorts. Spared the

here... Unbelievably, almost, judging the pace on this one to

perfection. He goes 4-under par. Three birdies in a row and the same

hearing as Justin Rose, so that is BT's Rory McIlroy for par. -- it is

bawdy. That is not a great start for him. 1-under now and he has

dropped three in the first five holes. Let's bring you up-to-date

with the current situation here on Mickelson, not the fireworks we saw

from his starting point of 4-under Henwick 75 today, 7-over par. The

the world number one, not what he and indeed many people were

and much sadness for some big names falling by the wayside. Others will

powerful trap. But he actually bogey to the first. Then picked up

a shot at the 7th and the eighth. This was the foundation of his

birdie here. As you say he started with a bogey.

But everything about his play, every tee shot hit the shot. It was
