Day 4 Golf: Women's British Open

Hello. The closing stretch of holes at Carnoustie is one of the

toughest in links golf. It has to stay at the nerve and deter

shredded the nerve of many on the final day of a major championship.

It is about to provide a similar examination today for the world's

top women golfers. We might have had a royal wedding just down the

coast from here yesterday, but at around 5 o'clock this evening,

someone will be crowned, and for the first time in the Rico women's

British Open Championship, Queen of Carnoustie. This was how it shaped

up yesterday. Saturday at Carnoustie, moving day, snoozing

day, a harder day for scoring, but in the sunshine, the best women in

the world jockeyed for position. The home crowd had their hope,

Catriona Matthew, make Skelly a mistake. Sophie has this week had a

quiet day but under par again and still with an outside chart book --

outside chance. The bogeys at wave the bogeys for her. Sometimes the

putter saved her. Inbee Park was at of the park and she tied third. The

number one was in determined mood. Four birdies came away and an eagle

with a putter. On this part of the day, 66. But still she could not

catch Caroline Massey, at ease, relaxed. Bogeys to start and finish

but in between six birdies and plenty of smiles. Can she do so

again on the final day? So, Caroline Masson. Ever heard of

her? Not many had before this week. But put yourself in a box use today.

You're 22, this is O'Neill second major and before this week you have

never lead any event, never mind 11 and you are about to tee it up

alongside the world number one and everyone keeps reminding you that

no German woman has ever won a major. Excited? Nervous? You bet.

This is your second major championship. And he knew one

leading going into the final round. A new experience but can you

describe what it feels like? It is hard to describe because I haven't

really realised it so far. I have been running from one place to

another and giving interviews, which is really new. I'm just

enjoying playing and having a great time for stop it is a great feeling.

She is equal to the challenge. That was a wonderful par.

The suddenly, this burst of form. Where has it come from? That is a

good question. I didn't play for three weeks and was practising at

home. The putting didn't work or whatever was coming up. This week

it just feels like it is all coming together. I think that is where --

why I was able to score so well. You have talked about the influence

of Martin Kaymer. How much interest has he been not just as a role

model but in personal terms for you? I was talking to him a couple

of months ago and he said, stay calm, your week is going to come,

you will win a tournament pretty soon. Just relax and see what is

coming. Concerning the British, accept whatever is going to happen,

except the conditions. That helped me a lot. It is all about the

attitude. On a course like this, you know you're going to make some

bogeys and don't worry about it too much because you will get a chance

for birdies as well. Just relax out there. She is not contaminated

person, Yani Tseng, but how intimidating is a golf? Very. She

is a great player. I am just going to try to enjoy this atmosphere and

having the chance to win a major. I'm just going to try to learn from

every second I am out there. So how well our record breaking leader of

13 players are within 10 shots of Caroline Masson's lead. This is

what they are playing for today. It was first introduced in 2007 at St

Andrews and first one by Lorraine at shower, then the world number

one. I think it pays a little homage to the old Claret Jug. But

it is a proper in more modern and perhaps slender and feminine shaped

prize, it is rather appropriate, I feel. That is what is on offer. So

far, Caroline Masson has coped very well in the spotlight. She was a

halfway lead and went on to establish that two-shot lead coming

into today. Are we looking at the second golfing major for Germany

inside of months, what with Martin Kaymer's exploits? There is a lot

of work before that happens. Conditions today could be more

challenging today. Ken has been on the course as we see the wind

beginning to whistle through across the east coast.

Things are looking pretty this morning at Carnoustie and I was

thinking of bidding one of those for Hazel but maybe I shouldn't.

The sun is shining. As ever, there is thick rough around command a

light, caressing breeze. The starter is getting ready for the

next group. The 18th has been very quiet and the grandstands are not

filled. The chorus bunkers to be avoided at all costs. Perhaps the

most famous feature on the golf course is the Barry burn that runs

across the 17th and 18th. Fingers crossed today that the players keep

out of it. It has a few stories to tell of the past and not all

terribly kind. It should be a fascinating duel at

the head of the championship but let's remind you who is playing

with whom this afternoon in the Yani Tseng confess she had never

heard of Caroline Masson before this weekend.

We have already seen what could be possible to they were -- when

Americas Katie Futcher played. This was a birdie at the 18th. She has

an eagle and six birdies today. Yani Tseng, who was out in the last

group, did not have a great start. She birdied the first but here is

second and overcooked it at the third. Unfortunately for her, that

is a second drop shot in a row. That one did not go in. Neither did

the follow-up. So two drop shots in three holes and we have co-leaders.

The chasing pack beginning to make their presence felt now. Sophie

Gustafson, the winner the year before this event, turned into a

major, that is illegal to take a warming up at the head of the

championship stop Darren Clarke was 110 in the world rankings when he

landed the Open Championship at Royal Saint George's is ranked 141

in the world. Are we going to have another surprise, or is the world

number one in the women's game about to dominate once again? So

many questions and I think the answers are going to come from this

It is a breezy day and as Ken and Hazel said, it is a fresher wind.

It is coming from a fresh direction. It is not easy but the course is

short. I never thought I would see the day when someone would come

home in 29 strokes here at Carnoustie. What do you think of

that, Maureen? There's been some spectacular golf and a have to say

that the course manager has presented this course absolutely

beautifully. This little breeze that Ken said was gently caressing

the players, it has now just turned into a little bit of a frisky slap.

So many of a holes out here, these cost breezes are going to be very

testing. Ken Brown is out with gain 34. How is it out there this

morning? I think Maureen as it spot on. The wind has slightly freshened.

There is a chill in the breeze. It looks like the wind is blowing some

-- blowing some blue sky in. I se Caroline Masson has started with a

par and then dropped two shots at the third, second and third.

little bit. Yes, it was a slightly stumbling start for Yani Tseng. But

a super birdie at the third. The front pin is not easy to get out.

as we expected. We thought it might be a little unsettling for Caroline

leader. You wonder, are they just two-horse race. Sophie Gustafson

course. She has put herself in a good position here. She won this

Championship in 2000, just before it was designated a Major. She has

already won, so she has good adding to her five Major titles,

but rather went off the boil not enjoying the breezy conditions

Catriona Matthew, the champion from See the waves in the green? The

flag tucked away? The sad news that Maureen Garrett,

who many of you will remember, died last night in hospital. Her family

were around about her. She captained a team and won the Bobby

Jones Award for her part in the world of golf. I remember her so

well from my youth, she had lessons she will be gladly missed -- sadly

missed. She was a lovely lady there. I played a great many times with

her and her father, the Major. They will be remembered with great

and stronger than the first three days. It just makes them think a

little bit more. Ya-Ni Tseng wanted it to blow and blow, she loves the

save indeed. Could she do it? All Cup. Pretty quick. She is making

herself work hard in these opening Fairly large. She did not quite get

Caroline Masson has held the lead outright or shared it since Friday

night. This is to maintain that record. She has got some backbone,

-- backbone, the scull! -- this goal! It is going to be a tough day

for her. She is still joint leader. Bidding to become the 8th German

winner on the Ladies European Tour. The first German winner was way

few more putts than she did on the front line yesterday. She made a

good comeback later but struggled greens. They are not lightning-fast.

We have seen a tremendous amount of great save, there. That keeps her

at 8-under. Five behind, but you never know. Throw in an eagle

before the finish, get a good number posted in the clubhouse and

who knows what might happen? Birdie for Catriona Matthew right in the

middle, she moved to 10-under, three behind. She has a calmness

about her, I always think. As if she is just having a look around,

wondering what to get the kids for supper. It is one of those

extraordinary things. I suppose her style of clothes said there a

little bit a part as well. As if she is just out for a game with the

friends, they said they were going in Deal. A friend sent me some

pictures. I sent some of them back and I forgot to send the others.

They have all been signed. Come on, Maureen and Wendy, do some

detective work. They must be talking about one of their members

sending me some beautiful for pictures, I have signed them all

and I have lost her dress. I hope they will come to my rescue. -- I

have lost her address. Who do you fancy, Maureen? I think you would

put the smart money on Ya-Ni Tseng, she is a competent and worthy world

number one. But if things worked out in this game the way we always

thought, it would be very dull. The likes of Catriona Matthew can ride

the tide of the home support. And Sophie Gustafson, she is well

capable of making a run. It is too early to tell. It will be an

interesting two or three hours to green, but -- on the screen, but

this green is shaped a bit like an upturned saucer. It is hard to

believe that she is only in her early 30s. She had that brilliant

start to her career. Just too wide. When she had won those two

consecutive Majors, she was only in her early 20s? She won them in 1998,

I think she was about 19 or 20. She is a member of the World Golf Hall

may be becoming a little bit afraid of becoming five was six feet too

far. That is a monster grip. I don't think I have seen one bigger

This hole has been giving up a lot of birdies and some eagles. Well

playing for position there on six. This is known as Super Sunday and

the champion Committee is donating to the Japanese earthquake and

not adjust your sets. We had a technical hitch or half a minute or

Yani Tseng, for the first time in this championship, has taken the

outright lead. This was her approach to the 6th. She slotted it.

Beautifully judged. These par fives could be crucial today. Yani Tseng

in the lead by one now from Caroline Masson, low has

relinquished the lead for the first time since Friday evening. Catriona

Matthew is making good grant. As we have seen, little bit of trouble on

would have got into third place with Catriona Matthew. As it is,

she remains at nine under par. Five of the lead now that is held by

all adding up to 2-under for the Championship.

A testy little chip shot for Inbee Park. Not much more you can do with

holes, I am sure. Two behind at the start of the round, one in front

amateurs in this Championship, two made the cut. The silver salver for

the Amateur goes to Daniela King, the Amateur champion. The other

amateur was Sophia Popov of Germany. Very good performances by the

corner. These two at the end of the field have played two wonderful tee

shots. It is an intimidating par- three. The out of bounds as only

literally five or six paces from Park. I thought that was going to

I think at the moment the Championship is the rest of this

field versus Ya-Ni Tseng. She is in a wonderful charge. The course

offers the potential for a great run home. We are looking at Se Ri

all right, but they are not finding the hole. Pay us seems to be the

problem. She must not get despondent. But if Yang hold this,

she increases the lead and the pressure. Ya-Ni Tseng looks are

extraordinary cool customer for one so young. She has been given a bad

time. A slow pace time. If she gets another one, it will be a penalty.

Were they going slow? The group in front are on the 9th green.

Catriona Matthew has a little knowing smile as she walks away to

the next tee. great influence on how the

Championship works out. Leads by two. Katie Futcher came back in 29,

stumble to her momentum. The first dropped shot of the day. She had

the ego on 6th, the rest pars. -- she had the eagle on the 6th. The

players are desperate to make something happen, they know they

are running out of holes. You try hard done do your best but you

can't really flogged away and hope you will have some miracle. You

play down the fairway, hit the green. It depends on how the ball

spins and putts on the green. Almost without you knowing it, you

looks as if it might be down the right side. My, my! He never moved!

A bit quick. But looks to have got away with it.

The 9th hole is simple enough, trees down the left-hand side.

Bunker is dotted around and about. That little stream on the left

Amber raisins, particularly when you are playing with the wind, it

is very easy to slide off the fairway and find trouble.

Always a tough their way, and a fast fairway. The ball can wander

it looks very, very competent indeed. Cracked it down the fairway.

Wonderful shot. A real hajj for her today to keep her rhythm because

she's playing with a player who hits a lot of shots full out. Very

That one didn't shoot forward. It's still going, got its second wind,

we call that. Amy Yang, another second a bit long here and came

back then, 15 feet or so past the flag. A lot of prize money here.

The first prize is nearly �240,000, then you've got a third prize .Th

place is nearly �20,000. -- 20th place. The prize money here is very

adequate indeed and there you get a glimpse of how well this event has

been set up. Ricoh, since it started, took over as sponsors, has

done everything with style. A proper little table and chairs, you

know, not things that slip over, they do the job properly. Must be

warming up. Taking off the heavy kit, Ken. When the sun's out,

you're in the shelter and it's quite warm. When the clouds come

over and the breeze is out, it's about ten degrees colder. Oh, Ken,

you do exaggerate. Do you think? do. I still love you though. Now,

can she whack this on? Well, it's a tangly line. A good angle to the

flag. She's warmed up. As long as she keeps the club head going

toward the hole she's all right. If it twists, could go left. There it

was coming in from in the left, but she flew it all the way. So if you

are ever discussing course management, that's something you

might put up, don't get involved in stop. Another one through the back.

Sometimes the skinny ones can really get some bite but she was a

bit unlucky there, caught the downslope.

It's all fractions isn't it. It was all working for her yesterday.

She's not doing anything she feels remarkably different from yesterday,

but she's getting different results. Choi at the tenth. This for a par.

Lang has bagged one of the ten places, as we speak. Catriona

Matthew second shot. She's going with a four iron. Holds position

right at the back. Does she need to cut it a little bit around the

trees, Phil? She went for the high route, but it's difficult to get it

back into that position. She's found the front of the green.

Not too bad. So many of the holes are dangerous and big bunkers

biting into the green. We have seen some good bunker play. It seems to

be clouding over in the distance. use the shoulder off the back of

being too hasty, you know, Ken. Certainly worked for me.

Bernard Gribbins. Bet he's watching this. You were slow, Ken, you had

that woolly hat, otherwise you'd have expired. From a customary

position in the centre of the fairway, just a mid iron for Inbee

Park. Extraordinary rhythm. She doesn't appear to hit the ball at

all. Slow scuttle. She did that yesterday from close range. It's

very difficult to get down to two from there. Either a club too big

or a lot of green in front of the flag. Here is a similar situation.

This isn't quite so severe. Fairly level, this putt. For Caroline

Masson. I wonder if she could get professional for some 20 months, so

this is really a master class up here with the world number one in

the thick of things for a major. Sophie Gustafson for a birdie. Oh,

twice she's done that. One left, one right. Just didn't get it on

line. Pace was a bit strong. Costly. Could so easily have been three

blanket if this one could drop in. Nicely done. Nerveless, Ken. I was

watching her very carefully there, her body was rock still, head was

rock still. Very timely on the putt. Looks very in control, a cool

female, to have won four major titles and she'll do her level best

story of her day so fash, three dropped shots, no birdies yet -- so

far. She could do with a Futcher, she came back in 29! See how far

she is off the green, top right of the screen, up, up, up, she's on

the green now. And that's doing rather well. Better than I thought

it might. Another yard and it would have been magnificent. It's a

difficult approach into 15 from the lft hand side. All sorts of humps

and hollows -- left hand side. She's carried it all the way on to

the green, very good from there. Another one goes through the back

in the many hollows that surround the green as you have a look at

Catriona Matthew. A long putt drifting away and going pole.

Clumsy. A little less pace and it might not have been too bad. It was

turning left at the end, it was too strong. This is Jiyai Shin, winner

at Sunningdale three years ago. Closing the Championship with a

nice putt there. I remember her winning there very well. I think

she wore glasses then. Yes, that's right, she did. That was a closing

72 for a four under par total. Playing with Cindy Lacrosse for a

plus two total. Catriona Matthew must be at least ten or 12 feet

past. This would be a huge save if this goes in. Amazing, she was so

aggressive with the putt. The second shot, she was so safe,

played so safe. Needs to make this one though. She's done it!

about that. My goodness me. That was almost as good as you in your

heyday! Lovely touch, just toppled into the hole, beautiful pace, good

save. The way she played the second shot was really safe, so she knew

the best she could do was front of the green. Amy Yang's ball was

swept into this little hollow at 15ths. That's lovely. Seen a huge

number of putts from off the green this week. It's the safest club

normally and the surrounds of the greens are so beautifully prepared.

Players feel they can roll the ball along them quite nicely. Choi.

Second shot. A small iron. Lofted club up towards the target and one

bounce. It's a beauty. Oh, that was and Park on ten. Left themselves a

bit of work to do. That 403 yard par four not the easiest this week.

If you are wondering what the big sheds are, that's a very splendid

green keepers' shed. They're now called emporiums, full of the most

wonderful machinery. Excellent staff who keep the course in lovely

condition. Said yesterday that around this area, some super

staff used to come on bicycles, now they have very expensive cars! But

they are worth it! So many clubs don't seem to realise that the

biggest asset is the golf course. They do not need a new snooker

table, they need the course in good nick!

Brittany Lang has been giving this her full attention. A birdie putt

by the screen, it was probably about 6 ft. She is moving along

very nicely. She has crept up to 9- under.

It will be interesting to see whether Yani Tseng can keep going.

I don't say yet that it is hers to lose, but I think she has to have

some golfing disaster all Major trouble, she has to take a six or

seven somewhere, to give the pack behind winter getting. Unless they

four-iron. It has to be one of those. Did she get away with it?

She could be in trouble. Could be. Faff even if it is above ground, it

is an awkward picture across the corner of the bunker to the

downslope. -- it is an awkward spin the ball too high in the air.

You can't beat straight shots. She is happy with it, I think? Look at

that! How different from the Queen when it was crusty and hard and the

ball galloped through the back? -- to 9-under. But they have to really

make a run at the leader if they want to have raised -- have a say

the Championship. She has had an up-and-down day. -- Karrie Webb is

a very popular former champion. She has enjoyed a wonderful season this

year, back-to-back victories in America earlier. An absolute

delight to watch. Playing with Stacy Lewis, and she has been doing

well. It looks like she could chasing pack have to do, be 33, 32.

Yani Tseng looked rock-solid at the She is not taking any risks. She is

patience personified on the golf course. She and her husband Graham

11th. These two players feeding off each other. Wonderful iron play. A

great opportunity for a birdie. As we look at Caroline Masson, welcome

today, the flag is right up the back. Oh, a glorious shot. That

deserves to hold. The green has pushed up quite considerably, it

will be swept away towards the 17th. That is a pretty severe penalty for

what was an excellent golf shot. Oh, you have changed your outfit, Ken!

What happened?! Who do you think that is with him, Andrew? I can't

see him! I had a session last night, but I don't think I look like that!

Ken Brown is the one on the left, I am the one on the right. You saved

my bacon last night, I am very grateful to you. That is all right.

Any time. The guy on the other side is thinking, I might not have this

next beer. Where are the bananas? unconvincing pitch, but all can be

putts coming up. It has been a bit of a struggle for her. She has not

really given herself any genuine nicely, it would be nice if she

rolled this one in. It is downhill. three behind Yani Tseng, the 11th

four shot lead. Still a bit of hope for the rest of the field. I feel

that if she had managed to make that one we might have been

watching a procession over the back for Yani Tseng. A three-shot lead,

aged holes to play. I think if you give her a three-shot lead with

eight holes to play, she will normally seal the deal. But you

so she is going for it today. The breeze is helping. It is a mighty

blow. Not bad. It is doing its best. Still growing. Still going! Four

can't play right or left, just for the middle of the green and take

your par and move on. Into the stiffening breeze today.

all costs. Fairly generous driving hole. It's going left. You heard

So is she thinking she wants to get off this course as soon as

possible? I think right now, the inexperience is showing. If you

have been on tour for a while you know that even though your game is

not there, you still need to try and fish Nish the round no matter

how you'll feel because you still want to make a good score at the

brought up in Australia, although she was Korean, as an amateur. She

She's unfortunately found one of these little drainage ditches. But

Carnoustie. It was incredible bad luck, not just to hit the flag but

to end up where it did. Even if it just stopped more left, it would

have been an easier shot for her. What about this putt? She could do

with making it steady because she's obviously getting a bit flustered I

think. Maybe a tad from the right, a little uphill as it slows. It

slides by, back-to-back bogeys for Yani Tseng, that one very

unfortunately. But bogey it is and she'll go back to 13 under. Just

taking a moment to consider that. She was going to be looking at a

birdie put of 13 or so. Instead, it's another shot gone. Suddenly,

she's too clear. Catriona Matthew, been rather a barren round for her

Caroline Masson today. It's a par but needs a lot more than that, but

it's all getting very, very interesting here. Seven over par,

poor old Masson, but two shots clear, perhaps only one more clear.

an eagle opportunity. But you don't want to get one slightly clean or

find the rough off the tee because it's so easy to be tempted to go

off it and if you find the bottom of these, you have all sorts of

problems. Spectacular Spectacles, but you really want to avoid 'em at

all costs! Lang, we saw her just about eagling

on the 14th. Just on the 15th now on a birdie putt that would take

her to within a shot of Yani Tseng. Seemed to be becoming a procession

for Tseng, but things have quickly target, a decent target. Three

holes to go. Peter is back with us. could be her downfall, but oh no, I

Yeon Choi, but she's a bit bamboozled by the greens. Masson's

really. We didn't want them to see 81s and 85s, but I think it could

have been a little bit more competitive and more testing for

them. Why come to great courses like this if you're going to settle

it up, not as a pitch and putt, but it ended for me when she came back

in 29 strokes on the back nine. This hole is 225 yards. The pin is

on the left side of the green. Remember, the 22 rescue. This is

one of the few players that could carry it on to the terrace and

perhaps hold it. But it has got to good, straight shot. It really was

a good, clean hit, straight on the target. Very good. This is a real

Coley one for Brittany Lang. Right to left and left to right at the

end. -- a Curly one. Still moving away from the flag. Now Masson.

Three nice holes to finish. It just sense you away from the venue

always a risk. Saw it come down, didn't look too good. She's got a

looks a good player, it's just that the occasion got to her today and

she wasn't able to manage her game. But she'll learn. Classic case is

Michelle Wie, one of the most talented players I've almost ever

we watched it go through the air and it finished on the ground --

but something is going to have to come off and she perhaps didn't

want to go home thinking what if. It's the way you look at life and

things, I suppose, you have to say, I'm here playing professionally,

I'll do the best I can. That was one of the great things about Jack

Nicklaus, I felt, he was playing as a true professional, here for the

week week and didn't make any silly decisions. He had quite a good

career, you know, Nicklaus. final tee shot for Yani Tseng. Hit

it on the clubhouse clock and just time it. Just watch the pace of

this and see how hard she hits it. I fancy she's going to give this

the full treatment. I think she magnificent hit. Huge! She bounced

the club off her shoulder like Torrencce there. She'll enjoy her

victory walk now, that was her last instead of four. Let's hope she

I had a great week. I played phenomenally every day. I felt

really good out there. It is a good course for me and I hit the ball

great and I it was very positive and I am feeling great. You are

him on the back. A good finish, and here are two not

since the 16th hole on Friday. So it is a bit of a shame that it is

going to happen right here on the very final hole of the championship.

But she has had a really good tilt at this one. She has played some

majestic golf shots. And once again, the putter working well for her.

That is a really good putt for a six. She finishes 72 today, nine

under par and 5th place and another very fine championship for the

Scotswoman. Pity that six because she did play

nicely and when she made a mistake, the putter came to her rescue. She

got the six to 12 putters when they mattered. But going way -- away

with a slightly sour taste. Coming to the end of this year's women's

open championship. On the hole, it has been a very good one. You can

see the difference in the distance of the drives between Masson and

Yani Tseng. There is Masson. 30 yards further up the fairway in the

right half his Yani Tseng. A little unlucky. Just trickled into that

light rough. A good angle to the pin, though. 153. The wind seems to

be dying in the closing stages. struck it nicely. And the result is

quite spectacular. Great shot into the last hole, the 17th, couldn't

convert. Let's hope she can hear. three days and every time she has

tall white Yani Tseng is going to enjoy this walk to the 18th green

and the applause will grow for her. She will enjoy every yard, every

step, of it. Yes, everything she has touched this year has turned to

gold. She opened up 2011 with four straight wins across three tours

and she is now about to step into the history books as the unkissed

player ever to win five majors. -- as the youngest player. 22 years of

golf writers shaking her hand. There have been one or two mistakes

made over the year when we have got this far in the event and they have

found there's been a mistake made in the scoring and

disqualifications have taken place. But there is no doubt that that

went right in the middle of the middle and a very worthy champion.

The family is all excited. Mum is there. This is terrific from one so

young. Tiger Woods was doing this when he started his run. What a

start he had to his professional career. Yani Tseng looks as if she

is doing the same sort of thing. Fantastic. A final leader board

check. You see the score wins are very, very good today. Slightly

more difficult, I think, today. There was more wind than yesterday.

Yani Tseng wins by four strokes. The rest of the field packed pretty

tight together. And so it ended with some big names not having the

best of days today. Katie Futcher, that 64, home in 29, that was an

absolutely magical round played early in the day. But she got it

good. Par here is 72. Of course they were playing a shortened

course. Caroline Headwall, played so well in the first round,

finished at one under par. Not a great deal of showing from our

British competitors, sadly. I think we may be half a step ahead of the

tennis players, but considering the effort that seems to be put in, we

don't at this moment seem to have a glut of young players who are

making their mark or even look likely to make their mark. Danielle

Kang, the American amateur, wins the silver salver for the winning

amateur. Sophia Popov was the only other amateur to make the cut. No

doubt about the winner. Four shots clear in the end. Women's golf in

particular often as the dominant figure. Tiger Woods is in the men's

game. Yani Tseng now looks likely to dominate for many years. And the

pipes blow away all your cares. Come on, my son, that's it. He

really does look like a Piper. That is how a Piper should look! Wide of

proudly, and I wonder how long it will be before we have another home

winner? It is extraordinary how the goals from the Far East have

managed to put together about -- there are about six or seven

countries out there that have been, come to the four over the last

years. We have had Catriona Matthew, but she has been a lone voice,

really. But our turn will come, I hope. I keep saying it. But it is

truly remarkable how the girls from the Far East... The men have been

trying to catch them up. But the women have been sensational over

the last 10 or 12 years, I suppose. And the prize presentation will

take place in a moment or two. It hasn't been a great week for

spectators, has it? The first couple of days were a bit more

sparse. The weather has improved and there have been more over the

weekend. I think the course was well presented this week. Perhaps

it could have been tougher for the beginning of the week. The

first time or second time? Both times feel really good. I enjoyed

the crowd here and there are so many great players making history

on this course and it feels wonderful. It's an honour to play

the British Open again. You were You were singing songs to yourself

to keep yourself calm coming around the stretch. How much more

difficult was it to win this time and how different was it, yani?

felt better than last time because I learned from the mistake and have

been through all year and feel like this year my mental is getting

mature and I got a great attitude and feel really happy. Caroline

Masson was out there with you as the overnight leader going into the

third round. What words of enkrgement did you give her at the

end -- encouragement? I lose in the final on a couple but you need to

learn from your mistakes and all the great players have made those

mistakes, you try your best. I've been last lots of times too. Being

here winning another tournament, you just need to feel appreciated

and learn from the mistakes. I know she must have been inspired

watching you today. Four out of eight majors, this is getting a

habit and you are the youngest person, male or female to win that

many titles. How many more can you keep winning? I want to try my best

and keep winning hard. There will be a fifth major on the LPG Tour

next year. You are in pink today, this is your traditional dress. How

many people back homework pink to support you because I've heard it's

growing in numbers these days? think so. I tell my friends to wear

pink to watch me on Sunday and lots of people were going to put it on

the Facebook. A marvellous victory today. You are an impressive golfer

We've been lucky here this week. We expected it wild, windy and wet,

but with the exception of today, it's been a very enjoyable week

here. I know that my colleagues have enjoyed it and the play of

Yani Tseng. Made it look easy in the end, but she had to come from

behind this time, complete contrast with last year? Yes, superb. When

she won last year, she was almost stumbling when she got to the line,

but she has the mental maturity to go with the game. Next year there

are four majors, the year after, there will be five, my goodness,

she will annex quite a number. round didn't start well with a

bogey at the first, but quickly into her rhythm, this was at the

third green and this was to two feet. She's hit some wonderful iron

shots in. They've set up these numerous birdie chances. Look at

the touch round the greens. It's absolutely magnificent. These

aren't easy shots, so lots of humps and hollows, lots of burrows going

in there and she judges it to perfection. Perhaps a little

flustered at one point because she was put on the clock here but this

was again a wonderful escape at the sand. A hard end par to preserve

the two shot lead. That was a big key thing when she was on the clock

but she coped with it admirably. What about the power of this woman?

This was a bash of about 320 yards at the 11th? When she started

playing, she said for the first two years, she did nothing but hit the
