Day 3, Part 2 Golf: Women's British Open

of this week of women's British Open Championships, there has not been so

much moving, as for waiting. Play was suspended at 12:30pm because of

high winds with gusts of 42 mph sweeping across the course. Golf

balls being blown around, unplayable conditions. And so for the second

year in a row, this great Championship has been affected

rather badly by the weather. Players just waiting to see what the

situation is. And you may remember last year we lost the whole day's

play too high winds. And now we're playing catch up at the home of

golf. Well, we managed around four and a half hours of play earlier

this morning. The players went out from 7:50am but eight hearings still

to go out onto the course when the hooter sounded. As you will be aware

when we were on, we told you earlier that play might restart at about

4:30pm. That deadline is approaching. And there's not much

movement out on golf course. Or indeed preparation. What is the

latest? Andrew Cotter can tell us. Susan Simpson as very important

things to do but she has taken some time to tell us the latest plan.

give an update at 5pm, but the earliest we will start to play will

be 5:30pm. We would like to get some golf in today. Was there any thought

of seeing this from the get go? is going to be windy tomorrow, so do

not think it will be unfair to continue his rounds tomorrow

morning. And what time would you start at? The long line has gone out

the window. It will probably about 6:15am. It is a beatable day, but it

is still windy. This is the place where so many of the greats have

made their mark. This is only the second time that the worlds best

women's golfers have tackled the old women's golfers have tackled the old

course. This was the leaderboard when play was suspended. No one had

made an impression on the front page. MA Yeon Choi, the US open

champion, with a one-shot lead. And a host of Major winners in hot

pursuit. Suzann Pettersson, and looking down there, So Yeon Ryu of

many players who started with potential. Yani Tseng, missing the

cut. And the likes of Karen Stupples and Karrie Webb as well. Sadly, they

will not be here. But the players who are are struggling. Struggling

to get out there at all. We're to get out there at all. We're
