Day 4 Golf: Women's British Open

. In America's half way leader Mo Martin tum was taking her in the

opposite direction. Oh dear. Pushed it. Three shots gone. She has never

held the lead in a major. Round a 77 saw it swiftly disappear. Spain's

Razia Iqbal was one of many -- reck was one to fall victim to a

fiendishly difficult 11th hole. But in major championships class will

out and Suzann Petersen has many of that. -- Suzann Pietersen. That is

the injection she needed. And quiet satisfaction from Inbee Park, the

woman who won three Majors last year, leads the Championship and

shouldn't be a surprise. The Queen of serene moves to the head of

proceedings. It could have been so different. Big mama, big hitting

Sun-Ju Ahn moved to the top. This is a tricky one. Who said it was

tricky? Who said it was tricky? But it turned out a one shot lead was

built on sand. Looks as if she will be penalised for building a stance.

She was our leader. Now she is not. So Ahn gives Park her pole position

and now we are green for go in this final round.

It was an eventful afternoon which translated ifrn to these numbers.

Ahn tied for second with China's only major golf winner Shanshan Feng

and Norway's Suzann Pietersen. It will be all-or-nothing, you can

bet. But the strongest wins of the week, it is already blowing 25mph

and there is suggestion that there will be gusts of up to 30mph by

3.00. That really has played havoc with

the field so far. Not a single player is-under par so far. 30

within seven shots at the start. It could simply be a question of

hanging on. It has been eventful so far. Let us remind you of what has

been happening so far. The leaders went out of around

12:35pm. Everybody is having a difficult time

of it. Inbee Park came into this championship under the radar. Rather

surprising for a woman who won the first three majors of the year. She

is becoming only the seventh woman to win four different major titles.

She reckons that would be a career Grand Slam. We have already had an

85. We have had a few 79 is. Sun-Ju Ahn in trouble in the second. The

Korean player not enjoying the opening holes. That was another

double bogey. Four shots gone in the first couple of holes. Charley Hull

dropped a shot at the second. She lost another one at the third. Par

starred for Chinese player. This is the second. She dropped her first

shot of the day. This is the situation as it stands. Inbee Park

has had a steady start. Lots of change already. But standing firm

ride at the top it is Inbee Park, the woman trying to win her fifth

major. Suzann Pettersen is out in the final group. We will join her

commentary team of Tom Arnold, Maureen Madill and Peter Aliss.

It is not the strongest wind we have ever known. It is from a strange

direction. Behind at the first. Causing all sorts of problems. Try

to keep the ball on the fairways, and of the rough. It is a monstrous

test today. -- out of the wrath. Mark James will be following this

game. Being buffeted about. It is pretty windy out here. I do not envy

these girls today. It is not so much the strength of the wind but the

fact it is costing quite severely. Inconsistency. -- gusting. No danger

of the ball being blown about on the greens, maybe the high spots? Suzann

Pettersen just stood away from a long putt because the ball appeared

to be oscillating. I think on greens like number 16 there may be

considerable problems. We hope not. We do not want any problems. We want

the rain to stay away. We want to end up with a worthy winner. She got

penalised a couple of shots on the last hole last night. Another one

dropped. Not very happy. Shanshan Feng, approach shot at the

second. That is not doing too badly. It was not in Park penalised last

night. It was Sun-Ju Ahn aim. -- Sun-Ju Ahn. She had a seven at 18

yesterday. She went from leading the tournament to tumbling down the

leaderboard. A very classy player. It is hard to work out just what you

think the par might be in these conditions today. I think probably

somewhere in the region of 75. 75 or 76. Very difficult. Cross Green putt

on the third. There should be a bit of movement.

Shanshan Feng is one of seven major winners within four shots of the

lead at the start of play today. Certainly there is always a habit of

the cream rising to the top. Quite a number of these players look very

similar. White trousers, baseball caps and one thing and another.

Similar shapes. Yes, I think the baseball hats to make identification

tricky sometimes. -- do make. Sue Djouhan is a prolific winner of

tournament in Japan. -- Sun-Ju Ahn. Mark James was out with her

yesterday and was immensely impressed with her ball striking.

Almost trying too hard there. Desperately trying to make up for

that double Tom Abbott double start. -- double, double start. If you have

a slow start, like many of these women have had, it can be difficult.

A lot to recover. Ken Brown is down watching Lewis. 15 mph, gusting to

22 at the moment. Five iron. It is going to be a brutal day, no doubt

about it. Gusty breeze, greens trying out. -- drying out.

This Green has banks either side. It can be when the wind is in a certain

direction, a little bit more sheltered than some.

That started left and never looked as if it was going to go in. She was

never comfortable over it. No. She looked a bit twitchy. I do think

that fast putting services and gusty conditions make the putting the most

difficult part of the game. -- surfaces. I could not agree more.

You are conscious of the speed. Part of you is attacking, part of you is

defending. The wind almost seems to be stronger

than it has been all day. Beautiful golf shot from hole. -- Hull. The

local support will be for Charley Hull as she tries to become the

first English player to win here since 2004. Prior to that it was

1991. A long way back. You tend to forget those facts. There has been

such a run of Asian players, American, Swedish, who have ruled

the roost so many years. -- for so many years.

We are going to see a lot of those today. So many tips have been put

forward over the years. Why don't more women apply the Michelle Wie

stance? There is a colourful pair of pants. Yes, that is Amelia Lewis, no

relation to Stacey. pants. Yes, that is Amelia Lewis,

Name-macro. -- Beatriz Recari. It looks tasty, doesn't it. Those

beautiful sandhills. Dramatic. A fairly straight putt.

I think Stacy Lewis is one the other players will be very very conscious

of. She and Charley Hull played together

in the first two rounds, but this woman on your screen, she has the

final round scoring average of 68.07, far better than any other

competitor. So she loves the heat of the final round.

This is up the hill. It is a more sheltered green. Set among the dune,

left-to-right. Nearly, nearly.

The two bogeys in the opening five holes for Charley.

Probably the same for Stacy, if she can hold hers. Suzann Pettersen. She

can just see the top of the flag tucked in on the right-hand side.

Come on. Oh, that has done very well.

Very well indeed. I don't think she will be able to see how well that

has finish. Playing partner Inbee Park.

It is going to be such a channel for the slow swingers to keep their

rhythm in these blustery conditions. Lewis tidying up. Par-5 on the

fifth. She lives for Sundays. Loves playing golf op Sundays when it

really means something. It is interesting because it has

some player, not all the greatest player, can perform better on a

Sunday than a Thursday, for some reason, they, whether it is the

concentration or whatever. Charley Hull now tapping this little tiddler

in. But it is just a question of

controlling your thoughts and your mind, once you can play, once you

can hit the ball you learn how to play and then you learn how the

control thing, if you can and the ones who do it best are the best

dog-leg very nicely. Recari, birdie putt.

Well done. After beautiful drive, Inbee Park a

very poor pitch and it spun off right and into this little gully. It

is not that long a putt, she is putting it but it sup and then down

and the winds cross, so it is very difficult to get within three feet.

-- it is up. It is an exposed par-3, this hole,

from clinging on to the front right-hand side corner of the green

with her tee shot. A big right-to-left swinging putt.

She gave that a dig, that might go off the back. Can I have it again?

Can I please have it again? Suzann Pettersen after that beautiful

second shot, she was from 178 yards too, it was almost a miracle shot.

Good chance of a birdie, the line straight but the wind could keep it

right. Toppled off the other side, Mark.

Yes, it is unpredictable. She looks well wrapped up. It looks more like

October day than July. As we have seen that birdie is hard

to combination. As we look down we will see Suzann Pettersen remaining

at 1-under par. The name of mope moment is moving in the right

direction once again. Mo was our half way leader, the 3 is-year-old

from California and after negotiating what is a tricky opening

four holes, this was Mo at the long par-5 sixth. This is her third shot.

Statistically the most accurate driver and indeed player on the LPG

tour. That one stone dead. There driver and indeed player on the LPG

a birdie and it has put her level par for the Championship.

Back to the world number one, Stacy Lewis.

Sun-Ju Ahn. It would be an accomplishment to give yourself a

stress free day today. You don't want to be leaving three and four

footers on the slopes with the wind. That the age to bring them out. My

word! I wonder if she will remember this day. Oh, I remember it well.

Second putt for Feng on the fourth. Remember, she nearly putted it

straight off the green. Nearly a super recovery.

But it is the third consecutive Boagy for the Chinese player. She is

become to level par. Only two players at the moment-under

par, Inbee Park at 3-under. Petersen at 1-under.

Feng and Mo Martin the leader after two round, both on level par.

The US Open champion, two good hits at six. Eagle putt a little shy.

Granada here, playing the fifth. Mum there caddying, Tay have been

together a long time. 2-over, she is going well. He seems to have missed

an awful lot of putts and she is still very much in the picture.

That looked simple enough. A very nice shot.

The fourth tee, high up and exposed. Suzann Pettersen has 179 to the pin,

and the wind about as across as it can get and still be hurting. Got a

5-iron. This is a tough shot. Bunker front left. Biggish green.

Very difficult to stop this drifting away to the right.

Well it was the bun cone the right that gobbled that one up.

-- bunker on the right. Might see some plugged balls in

bunkers today. And she has been lucky, Peter. At

least she could get it forward. She will be on this three.

Unless she does something... Oh, that is not too bad.

Also a 5-iron for Park, a smooth rhythm belies a considerable amount

of power. Mainly timing. Oh, it may just fall in the bunker.

Maybe they were a club shy there, they might have done a three-quarter

four. Barely made the front of the green. I think a low ball flight is

called for here, Peter. If you can do it, it is a day for playing golf

along the ground. This is Emma Talley, one of the two

amateurs playing at the weekend. She has had a very good round as has

Georgia Hall. Two fine performances from the two amateurs, but the

salver will be going to Emma Talley of the US. She got off to a good

start. You can see three birdies in the first seven, a few fives.

Nothing worse than a five. Pretty good on a day like this.

A boomer of a drive for Charley Hull. 5-wood rescue, a five rescue.

Get up! It made it. Good strike from there.

Well Emma Talley is o only player to be-under par on the front nine

today. That laid the bedrock for her good round. Ji at the six. Remember

she was on the front putt up here. No. Fell out of the hole. Could well

be affected by the wind. Two good shots on the green and

three putts. No Recari.

I thought she overborrowed but she read it well.

I think the wind might have helped that in a whisker.

Nicely Junged putt. It is time to welcome in young Tom. Welcome Tom.

Thank you Peter. As we go to Stacy Lewis. That one trundling back

towards the green. A little bit of work to do for Stacy Lewis.

Maureen, I think A level par for the championship may be good enough to

win. I would say level par will definitely win. If you offered me

plus one I would say thank you very much and take my chances. The

players are going to face so many putts of this length. The ball is

moving so slowly on the fast surfaces, there is a risk of being

blown away by the cross breezes. Suzann Pettersen, it looks like an

awkward lie, Maureen? It is a pretty average piece of gardening from

whoever was in there before her. There was some rain last night and

the top one inch of sand got wet. There was some rain last night and

quite difficult to predict exactly how much spin this ball is going to

This is for an eagle eyed Charley Hull. -- for Charley Hull. Pretty

good from there. I was talking to her father before the round. She has

grown half an inch in the past year. She looks a bit taller than I

last saw her. She is taller and stronger than she was last year. I

have seen Inbee Park miss more putts this week than I did in the whole of

last year. Stacy Lewis with her fourth. She should be able to

scramble a par. She is a real street fighter. She will hang in until the

end. If you look at her background, battling scoliosis, didn't know she

would be able to play the game at all, let alone at the highest level.

She is a very determined young lady. Suzann Pettersen... Just three and a

half feet. This screen is sheltered, which helps a lot. -- this Green.

Speaking of determined players, Suzann Pettersen is another. This is

a huge putt. You have got to take your birdie chances today. Red

numbers are going to be scarce. Her caddie, Gary Wildman. They started

working together earlier this year. Her father chose Gary as the caddie

because he has a daughter of a similar age to Charley Hull. He felt

that would be a good mix. He knows how to deal with teenage girls. It

seems to be a good partnership. He could probably sell that knowledge

if he does know how to deal with teenage girls! Mo Martin, are

halfway leader -- who was our halfway leader. Relatively

inexperienced at this level. But my goodness, she is in third place.

What a terrific week she is having. And the way the draw panned out

today, you have got to think it favoured Mo Martin. Coming under the

radar today after being under the spotlight yesterday.

She was penalised for building a stance in the bunker on the 18th

hole yesterday. She has had a bad start today. This is Amy Yang. A

difficult par three. Especially when you have a cross breeze. She has

found the heart of the green and this is for birdie. Quite an

undulating, narrow green. That was always on the high side. Suzann

Pettersen on this dogleg par four fifths. -- fifth.

Not the easiest hole in the world but relatively short. That is

perfect. Weigh up the fairway. -- up the fairway.

That was a pretty aggressive shot from Suzann Pettersen. Inbee Park

looks to have fairway wood as well. That might have been a driver. It

looks as if she smacked it away pretty solidly. Yes, driver.

Beatriz Recari, birdied six and seven. That is a great shot. A great

shot in there. The seventh hole, Stacy Lewis. Ride over the hole.

Finishes in the bunker. Yes, coming mostly down onto a hard surface. It

is so difficult coming across the green. No depth to it. I think this

is one of the differences between the men and of the women's golf, the

women can generate as much spin as the men. This is a difficult shot

for them. Charley Hull. That is a beauty. She will have a putt for a

birdie to get back to level par. The lead at the moment is to wonder.

Inbee Park leads by one. Gladys that Sarah is one over. -- Gwladys

Nocera. Well done. Into second place now with Suzann Pettersen, just one

behind Park. This is the woman who was making all

the headlines. She won three majors coming in here. In 2013 she had

basically a very good -- what would be a very good career for other

players. I spoke to her at the beginning of the week and she did

feel last year that the interest and the close media attention was

stifling. Much more relaxed this time around. I mentioned Gwladys

Nocera. She went out in 36. One of the card. This was her second shot

on the 10th. Writers I was singing her praises, she knocked one into

the long grass. 132 the pin for Inbee Park. -- 130 two the pain. --

to the pin. Even though it is into the wind, if she gets a flyer it can

take off like an Exocet missile. Is she trying to slide the ball low,

or is she sticking with her normal standard stock shots? She has been

hitting her drives pretty low. She seems to be hitting them normal

height. She does not seem to be trying to do too much. This first

third consecutive birdie. -- for her. Just 96 from Suzann Pettersen.

Perfect lie on the right place. In real birdie opportunity. Punch the

wedge into the hollow where the pin is cut.

Quickly to Charley Hull. She has not headed. -- hit it. Sometimes you can

get so immersed in the line that you forget to hit it. We swish of

frustration. -- a small swish of frustration. The second to the ninth

for a Mo Martin. 31 years of age. She is from California.

She is a short hitter but she has her strategy down will stop --.

Lewis was in the bunker. She has come out to there. This putt is

going to be slightly uphill and into the wind. That will afford her the

opportunity to eke out a little bit of borrow. Yes. Whether wind is

gusting you lose your balance a little bit. This is uphill. Give it

a little bit of a dart. So, so tricky. The pains are all in an

awkward spot. They are not in flat areas. An element of frustration

from both these players at this stage. You take your time. No rush.

The group in front have just teed off. Well done. Maureen, at the

moment in this championship is like the Tour de France, everybody is

toing and froing at the peloton, but who is going to make a move to the

finish? You are so right. The opportunity

for six, seven shot swings in the last couple of holes.

Outside birdie chaps for park. There should be a bit of draw on this. She

will try to roll this up to the hole side. She played it safe with the

second shot, which is probably wise. -- Park.

Nice roll that. One shot lead coming into the find

day -- final day, the fourth time she but leading into the Fourth

Round of a major Championship. She has won all three of those leads,

and the previous occasions she has come in as the leader.

So she knows how to get it down in this situation. Recari for a par at

the eighth. Oh dear. Yes, we have seen a lot of short

ones missed already today. Gwladys Nocera of France, this for a

par op ten. -- on ten.

She has had two bogies, eight pars in her opening ten hole, that is

more than acceptable today. Petersen.

Roll out. Tersen.

Roll out. She has a Norwegian camera crew

following her round. Once she finishes she puts on a microphone,

they follow her round with her interviews and all the things she

does through the day. Amelia Lewis.

Lewis was number three in the world before she turned professional.

She had 52 wins in junior and amateur competitions but none yet as

a professional. I am glad they don't mic the players

up. Don't you like that? I think it would be interesting I think cameras

are invasive, think it is much to have a microphone as you are trying

to do your day's work. Well done. It might be interesting to people, I

grant you but as a player I wouldn't be too happy about it. We have done

it a few times on the golf channel in the United States, as you say, it

is usually the players, they aren't too much of a fan of it but the

people watching want toer what what they have to say. Mo Martin now, at

the ninth. This could be good. Not bad from there. It was all going

splendidly for Mo Martin until she got that four putt and that knocked

her off kilter. Inbee Park still serene, and

composed, and very confident it would appear despite the fact she is

2-over for a round. She looks strong, 2-under, just that one shot

lead over Shanshan Feng and Suzann Pettersen. Mo Martin seems to have

rediscovered her composure and there is a big group at 1-under par that

includes Amelia Lewis, she of the UN pants today.

Paula Creamer is putting together a good round. Laura Davies is in a tie

for 19th. There is a tie for 23 is the young lady, the 20-year-old from

Kentucky, Emma Talley, who has beaten English woman to become the

winner of the Smith silver Sam have a. -- salver. -- salver. Emma, the

heeding amateur and a round of 73 today, to beat Georgia Hall to this

Smith Sam verdict I wonder what sense of achievement you feel? Going

into the week all I wanted to do I wanted to play well. I didn't know

how the weather Wes going to work out. I had the first four days

pretty God. It is very exciting. Getting the cup was good.

It was only two shots between you between you and Georgia in these

conditions. Not what you are used to Not at all. I have had a bit of

experience, I played here a couple of years ago, so I was nervous but I

wanted to play well, try to hit the middle grown and that is it. You

hold the winning putt to win back the Curtis Cup for America, clearly,

here you are as the leading US amateur here and the leading amateur

and you had your dad on the bag today. How special was that for you

for him to share it? Very special. Last year he, we got to experience

together winning the US together and he is very good at caddying for me,

he keeps me calm. It feels like we are playing for fun. It is kind of

fun in Georgia, we played against each other at the Curtis Cup. It was

interesting to play against her again. What are your plans? Is

professionism round the corner? No, I want to finish school. Hopefully

after that pro-. You have lots to be proud of. Thank you. Our

Championship leader. It is almost like she places herself into a

position at the top, and almost then starts from there.

Not an action you would teach but it is effective. Anna Nordqvist on her

final hole. And that is a 72.

That is a superb round of golf by Anna.

Finishes the championship on plus five. That has bounced her into the

top 20. It will be interesting to see where that finishes at the end

of the day. She could be top 15, even up to the top dozen: 72 from

Anna Nordqvist. Almost had the feeling of the final

day at hoy lake, where 72 was the best score, although I think the

weather hee is a bit better. It was a long day, they played two round in

the final. This is like a sunny day in the Bahamas compared to the hoy

lake two years ago, I have never seen worse than that. In terms of

the scoring, the low score was 72 that day. That was magnificent. That

was severely broughtle. There was no pleasure in being out in that at all

for the players. -- bluetle. Very fliesly played.

Everybody is over par for the day, apart from Anna Nordqvist, who has

finished with a 72. Tough. If you arches bah on TV it

probably looks pleasant. The courts are looking pristine but it is a

difficult day. Perfect tee shot for Charley Hull. Breeze helping. Just

have to judge the first bounce. It is stuck up on the grass.

The sixth hole is the first that has afforded the players any respite.

The fist of the par-5s. You get a good tee shot away you are able to

get hole in two. So two birdie putts coming up for this pair.

This is a wriggly one for Shanshan Feng.

Well done! Joint leader. # Along with Inbee Park on 2-under.

Bark back the back birdies. Just tiptoed the emof bunker, to

finish on a horrible down flow. It is going to come out flat and

running. Not sure she caught that correctly

but it has done OK. # After that delightful chip,

hopefully Anne can put the finishing touches to this hole.

Yes, indeed. Wind fraction hurting, I think she

has the power to get up there. It has warped up a lot. Suzann and

Inbee Park have taken wind proofs off. It is very pleasant apart from

the wind. That is fine, just where Sun-Ju Ahn

was a few moments ago. Hard work for our cameramen out

there. Well, reck which -- Recari has

played some great iron shots here. She is creeping under the radar a

little. Yes, a few player, two or three, four shots back that could

still ease I can win this Championship. Here is one of them.

Gwladys Nocera for a birdie at the 11th. 12 victories on the ladies

European tour. 39 years of age. That one is getting

away. Wow, look at that. That is great example of the wind affect --

affecting the putts Maureen: Yes, a combination of slope and wind is a

bit evil. Grey view of this unorthodox swing. Just watch how

straight up and down the shaft points in the back swing.

Finding the heart of another green. Fairways and greens.

Steady. Steady. Not too bad. Knocked that one in for a par.

Remain at 1-over. 2-over for the day.

Quite an elevated tee here on seven. Playing down to an angled green that

surrounded by a necklace of bunkers. And as that find the green it is

time to welcome back Peter. Thank you Maureen.

And I do believe that the weather is brightening up a little bit. I don't

want to be too optimistic but there is a patch o blue. Stacy Lewis with

in long putt. Their shot. Eighth hole.

Coming round, is it. It is doing well. Doing very well.

Oh well done. A different hole today with this wind blowing.

What is that? Charley Hull. Number one. Charley Hull.

"Come on Charley" here she comes. And it is there. Well done Charles.

Recari misses another one, that was a birdie putt at the ninth.

Recari could go out in 38 if she knocks that one in.

That is about average today. Yes, it is a tough day. Temperature

forecaster said it might get better this afternoon, but what that means,

ion. Play here due to finish about five. Unless there is a play-off of

course, there is always a possibility of that because Tay are

all beginning to get nearer and nearer together. There is a lot

players with the chance in the next hour or two.

Things like this sometimes happen. You get a monstrously outrageous

shot. Sometimes they go in the hole and make its a huge difference. A

long eagle attempt for Park. Beautiful second shot. It hit the

front there and stopped. Not much borrow on this but she has done it

pretty well. A putt for a birdie. Chance to get

back out in front if she puts that in.

Nearly very good. Many players visiting here for the first time

perhaps we'll have never seen bunkers like this with the big

faces. They will be used to flat bunkers. Suzann Pettersen with her

third child. It is a pretty simple chip but she is using the Potter to

keep it out of the wind. -- putter. Not easy to judge this. Yes, well,

if she had headed a bit harder, it might have done well. -- if she had

hit it. The greens here are not particularly

big for a links golf course, are they? No. They are not tiny. Sort of

medium. Not Saint Andrew 's style. They are generous, I think. It is

not easy to get close. She needs to repair some of the

damage from earlier in the round. Never out, never in. She will remain

at level par. Suzann Pettersen for a birdie at the sixth. A big putt.

at level par. Suzann Pettersen for a big, big, big putt. A long way to go

but that is a very important putt. Shanshan Feng for a par 37. -- for a

par at the seventh. She will be back to one under. She has got a busy

walk. She always looks as if she is in a hurry. This is to lead the

championship. Yes, well done. A good four. Two could force. She will be

tough to beat. You cannot really see her making too many big mistakes.

She plays in a very calm manner. Important putt for Mo Martin. A good

two putt in the end for Mo Martin. Inbee Park with a 1-shot lead in the

final round. Suzann Pettersen and Shanshan Feng, both major champions,

just behind. Charley Hull is still within striking distance. Stacy

Lewis playing alongside Charley Hull. Three quarters today. World

number one. You would have expected a bit more from her. Paula Creamer,

one over. She has just dropped a shot to go one over for the day,

four over for the championship. She almost fell over there. It is

many shots can change in the space of a few holes. You just have to

question of carrying the front bunker and stopping it short of the

back bunker. Good swing. Powerful, too. She give

Inbee Park smacks it away. To bowl. I think she thought it was good in

I talked to Suzann Pettersen after her round yesterday and she said she

would not pay attention to other players, just play her own game.

now strolling the fairways. Did he win them back? No. That was Curtis

strange. He beat Nick Faldo in a play-off in one of those, if memory

serves me correctly. There is a good old stage. You don't see many legs

Monte Carlo, Rio... Just perfect! Again, not a great piece of raking

in this bunker. Four or five inches behind the ball. It is a fraction of

bit. The grasses behind are still whistling. She will be mindful of

that. She seems to be a little bit anxious about making the ball sit

down and not wobble about. She has picked it up and put it down about

half a dozen times. Happy with how it is sitting right now. And nasty

these days. It is not easy. Very well struck. Keeps the position at

feeder tour in the US, which is referred to as the Semetra Tour.

Best finish tied for third. She has never broken 70 in a major

championship prior to this week. Came out the gays with 69.

Stacy Lewis at the ninth. -- came out the gates. Putting for a three.

Although it is distant memory I am sure some of you may remember the

ninth hole on the tee when Richard Boxall took a swing and broke his

Playing Morgan Pressel, she finishes at 7-over. Back to Shanshan Feng.

Remains at 1-under. A couple behind. Known as Jenny. It would be a thing

if she should win this Championship. A tremendous boost for Chinese golf,

for Far East golf and the tour in general.

That didn't look too bad. It is rough round the edge of the bunker,

she is on an up slope. A bit of weight on the right foot and sweep

it away. 166 to the pin. She has a 9-iron. Pin tucked way back, so the

wind helping it toward the pin position.

Now that could be an awkward little putt from there. Coming over that

shoulder. Didn't seem to hit it very hard,

9-iron. Check on the leaderboard. Three

players-under par as you can see. Red-and-white figures there. But if

you look down, right down to Chiellini at the bottom, only five

shots behind -- Charley Hull at the bottom. There can be some dramatic

changes. It can happen very quickly too on this, a course of this

stature. It is a difficult day. 306 yard tee

shot for Pettersen. Just a question of controlling the

flight. If you can hit a sort of mid height soft fade, that is the shot.

If you can't, unlucky. Practising that steep take away.

She never got the strike on that at all. Another one of these monster

putt, 15 yards, whatever. She gave it plenty of beef beef and

it stopped very quick on her. At the 12th. Mo Martin.

She should make her par here. And remain level. Three behind.

It is so windy the bird are walking. It was so windy this Leeds they used

to fly backwards to keep the dust out of their eyes.

breeze, which is straight, a fairly vicious rate at the moment. I would

say 20mph. Shes has come up short of a nasty bunker. Playing more like

205. She would normally hit a, a 4-iron

for 180 yards, just a regular one, but, this is going to have to be

some kind of wood. She will want the keep it low and make sure she clears

that. Should do it but a hair tariff shot this. You are slightly

unsighted to this green unless your tee shot is about 260 yards.

Different hole with this wind. It is an absolute bruiser.

That, with the hybrid five has to give this a sting. You can't even

see the green. You can see, we get our other picture, you can see the

camera tower at the back of green. That is, that is where the flag is.

# you have to be just right to get it on there. A good shot to find the

green. And she has. Unlucky it stopped very

quickly, but into the wind. No run but safe.

Stacy Lewis is yet to hit a fairway. She hasn't found one yet in the

opening ten holes. She has trickled into a nasty spot here. Ball is

nestled down, a bit of stubbly grass behind it. This is evil really.

Doesn't look very tasty. It is not. I mean, if you take any sort of

gamble you can Hawick it left into the winds there, or block it right.

I mean, the real players knock it down the fairway 100 yards and take

your medicine, but maybe time to chase a bit. Well there is some big

bunkers up there. If you get in one of those in the wrong spot, it can

cost you a couple of shots This will be very hard to get the club on the

back. Getting the right contact 4-iron, risky.

30th appearance here. Does this reflect on your play this week? Yes,

I've played well all week. The first day was disappointing. Getting off

to a horrible start yesterday, that was probably one of the best rounds

of the year even though it was on the level par. Conditions today were

so much tougher. How hard was it out of there? It was tough. There were a

lot of long irons. Five iron into 16 came up short -- short. You are 18.

How much better do you think that could be over the coming hours?

Depends. If the winds state crosswind, it is not an easy birdie.

It could improve. It could get worse. You don't know. It would be

lovely because I need as much money on the money list to keep my card in

America. This could be a big week. When is the investiture? When are

you going to the Palace? No, what has happened in the past is they

send you some dates and you choose a date. You just hope it would be the

Queen -- it is the Queen. It would be lovely to meet her again. We will

wait and see in the next few weeks. Wells played here. -- well played.

Shanshan Feng. Up to the table top green that is the ninth. Stacy

favourite. No birdies so far this day. It is a bit of a grind for the

players. Looking for a little momentum. A little something back

from the golf course to keep them going. It is hard to find it. A

brilliant run could be a few pars in a row. That does not seem very

exciting. Charley Hull has got this for a par. Oh, dear. It is so

tricky. Very difficult to read. I think out here some of the momentum

builders will be a putt like that for par. Absolutely. Putting has

been problematical today, unlike yesterday. Yes, yesterday, nine

birdies. Different weather conditions today. Shades of Rory

McIlroy at Royal Aberdeen. 64, 78, or whatever it was. Another long,

long putt. Better speed. These are testy putts. Peter, were you a

consistent scorer, did you go low and have some scores that cracked or

buy new? I was fairly consistent. I did not have many horrendous scores.

I was a good last day player for some reason. God knows why. Sun-Ju

Ahn at the ninth for a birdie. Look at that wondering away. They never

look as if they are going in. Pars are very important today. We do not

have any players out today with the broom handle putter is. I would

suggest using one of those today would be more tricky. She gets par.

She may be a danger, this one. She is powerful. Seems to have a good

head on young shoulders. Par putt here at the ninth.

pretty well. I was beginning to wonder if she had been a little bit

too defensive of the tee. We panned back and see where Inbee Park is got

going beautifully. Out on 35. The last three holes, six, five, seven.

The last four holes have really spoiled her day. It shows you how

things can change. I'm sure they will again before this championship

the final four holes. 76. It did not look too appetising but

the sound of the strike tells us it must have been lying quite nicely.

That is a great iron shot from Inbee Park. That was a big drive,

Maureen. Wait past her partner for the day. Mo Martin has found sand.

Stacy Lewis on the short grass at last. 170 yards, four iron. She

hoped the wind would swing it back but it did not help much. It is a

very skinny green. A little toing and froing, deciding what the

yardage was here. 169. If you hit it hard, played back three quarters,

prodded a little lower under the breeze. If you get it in the air,

you will lose eight or nine yards of distance. Down the shaft. It has

gone right. It nearly got the old Stewart. -- steward. Not too much

borrow on this. The wind will probably cause it to go to the

left. The question of getting the pace. -- it is a question. That was

a good effort. A good turnout of spectators again today. And they

have been looked after very well. The facilities for the spectators,

entertainments for the young ones, things to do, things to watch. A

huge long putt for Martin. She has played two already. Tracking well.

She needs that damage limitation. -- for damage limitation. Back to the

Steady, steady, steady. Very difficult, out of that long

grass, going down wind. These two have played together for

three times during this week. Played together Thursday and Friday.

Just a little tight line chip-and-run shot here required.

This green seems very dry. That one somehow checked up. Didn't

get any roll on it. By and large it is her short game Stacy's feels has

let her down. Normally extraordinarily good. Needs good

balance here. Not bad.

It is a brutal hole this tenth in today's conditions.

Up to the 11th. Charley Hull has just stopped to

shots, nine and ten, looks like maybe another one here, Ken. Needs

to find something. Needs to hole a few putts.

If she does for she still has a chance.

The 18th green. This would tie her with Laura Davies. Oh. So close! So

close. Fine birdie to finish for Azahara Munoz, the Spaniard.

That leaves Laura still leader in the clubhouse, she has now moved

into 15th. Well, very good indeed there, strong

week from Azahara Munoz, top 20. Nice finish.

She is just off the green here at the tenth, but I think putting, we

have hardly seen anyone from long range get the ball right to the hole

side. This is another norm mousily difficult to get the line and the

speed. # -- enormously difficult.

Pretty good, but another five or six feet would have been ideal ideal --

ideal. Greenestling below the players.

Good for distance. Stacy Lewis, the way that putt of Charley Hull's

dribbled off to the right, tells us this must be at the left edge, with

a bit of pace. Yes. Well read. And there another dropped shot.

This is a must make for Charley. This is for bogey.

Not many players get the ball past if here, we have seen most of them

come up short. She gave that a fair rattle.

That is not bad. It is a case of hanging in at this

stage, just trying to knock off the pars, there is always the thought

that row can squeeze something out of the golf course in the last four

holes. And Feng has been one of the

strongest finishes over the first few rounds, she has picked up a lot

of shots on 17 and 18, birdieing both those holes in the last two

rounds. Who would your money be on at this

stage if you had o make a forecast? Very difficult to say but I think

this woman looks impressive. A couple of shots here, like you say,

a bit of a my Fortune and the whole thing could change. I think it is

going to go right to the wire. All the players have dropping shots

at the moment. This is for a par. I think it is going to be a question

of who makes the fewest mistakes, or who finishes in a blaze of glory.

Moment has been moving along nicely. -- Mo Martin. A long birdie putt.

It will be a nice welcome tap in. She has had three bogies today and

one birdie. It is very fine play. Does hit a low ball flight, so, her

game quite tailored to these conditions. You see, here is someone

who could finish in a blaze of gory and set a target. Exactly. It

frighten finance other ones off. This is no push over. This little

tiddly one. . Well done.

Every hole now is a tester and to take you through the next spell of

golf here is Tom. Thank you. We check in with Charley

Hull who needs to turn things round. Out with a 7-iron. Playing this 12th

hole. Trying to kept one in the right-to-left breeze.

It is not really a birdie opportunity coming up for Hull.

Well, a lot deliberations, we have had about ten minutes time with the

group if front finished off, but we have 163 to the pin but it has to be

played 190 up the hill into the wind, which is not abating at all.

So she certainly needs a 4-iron, if not a three.

She has a 5-iron in fact. She will do well to get that to the pin. But

she is a strong girl, generates a lot of power.

Inbee Park has hit into the left rough and is not looking great.

At this second the wind has eased off suddenly. It may help her but it

is likely to get going again. It was a solid well hit punch. That

was unlucky, isn't it. It just hit and stopped within a couple of feet.

Well executed however, wasn't it. Angela Stanfording to remain at

three over. -- Stanford. She is a good wind player Angela Stanford.

She comes from Texas where the wind blows, she knows how the hit the low

slinging hook. She has never won a major Championship Angela Stanford,

maybe the next box to tick in her remay.

Oh my word! Big, big trouble for Inbee Park.

Did not expect that at all. She tried to bite off more than she

could chew. There was a sprinkling of rain, so you know, the rough is

is a bit juicy and when it gets wet it is tougher.

Let us show you the story of her round to bah point. She began with

bogies at the second and the fourth. Started o out with a one shot lead.

By the time she came to the par-5 sixth she was much more in the

groove. This would give her the chance for eagle, but instead, she

would accept the putt for the birdie. Here it is.

She marches to 3-under and into the lead and Inbee Park had come to this

Championship the year before trying to go for a calendar Grand Slam.

she feels as said, she feels like this tournament owes her, at the

eighth she gave one away but the bird I can putt reestablished a two

shot lead. As we have seen Inbee Park in big trouble at the tenth and

could that be a significant turning point in the chances of Inbee Park?

That was a dreadful piece of course management by Inbee Park, there is

no way she could reach the green, thereches no point in trying to be

aggressive on that shot. She has a better lie this time.

Not sure she can reach the green with this, but not the easiest

pitch. She did very well there.

Inbee Park needs to get the ball up and down for a bogey, she has a two

shot lead at the moment. Just on the right edge, coming. Yes,

at last. Par-5s to come. We thought it might happen, the

Championship can change in one shot and that was the second shot for

Inbee Park at number 10. That might be significant, but Ken, you have

been birdieless out there so far with these two great players.

Absolutely, it has been, slightly lacking in cheers. Stacy Lewis has

the shot of the day so far but not many cheers ringing round the

course. Granada. Third at the 11th.

Likes playing in the tough conditions, we were talking about

the Championship where she shot 74, 74 in the find round in those

conditions. Look that the ball moving Maureen. Well, it was four

times closer, seconds ago and it hasn't stopped yet.

That is unkind. You need to be pretty quick off the mark. Amelia

Lewis having a good championship. Lying fourth at the moment. This is

a big putt for her. Oh, no. Look at that go by. This 11th green was a

nightmare yesterday. And I think I would have been going out if I had

been the officials and finding the flattest spot that I possibly could.

The first two thirds of this putter right-to-left. If she does not give

it enough right at the end, it could move left. This is a hard putt. Hard

to judge distance and line. Yes, it is staying right. It was moving in

but did not quite have the pace to get over. Such fine margins. When

you don't quite executed to perfection, it can make you look a

bit silly in these conditions. Julieta Granada for a par. She may

end up a bit further away yet. Hovering the Potter macro there.

Obviously worried the ball might move. It is a horrible feeling

standing over a putt when you are not sure if the ball is going to

move or not. It puts you out of your natural rhythm. Suddenly you can

find yourself snatching at it if you are not really ready. Well done.

Excellent. Four over for the day. Only two over for the championship.

With Inbee Park in trouble, she could be right back in it. Suzann

Pettersen at ten. The players being foxed the little bit by this 10th

green. The ball coming in from right to left. It just hangs out there.

Amelia Lewis for her par. Excuse me, this is for bogey. She had a good

week last week at Buckinghamshire in the -- in Buckinghamshire on the

ladies tour. Her mother said to her that she should go and play, go and

get it done next week. She finished fifth. She has come up here and is

having a very good week. Inside the top five. 12 feet or pilfer bogey.

That was a weedy effort. Throwing the door wide open for the rest of

the field. She still has got that one left for a double bogey. A

couple of tough pins around this part of the course. It all came from

the second shot. You were looking at this pairing here, Inbee Park won

the money list in America last year, Suzann Pettersen was second. These

players know a thing or two. Suzann Pettersen for the par.

What a costly hole for the final pair.

We understand that Amelia Lewis spoke to an official before knocking

that one in. She backed away from the putt. Apparently the ball was

oscillating but it did not move. No penalty. Back to Inbee Park. This

for a double bogey. She is very unsettled. Very unsettled. You do

not often see them bring the putter back and then walk away. They will

both be glad to get that whole over. Now we have got two players under

par and one on par. And Laura in the clubhouse is creeping up the board.

She is now top ten. Six iron straight down the breeze. Sit down.

You have just got to decide on the flight. There is a little bank in

front of the green. 794 Stacy Lewis. Lovely angles. Nicely struck.

Sun-Ju Ahn, her second to the 11th. She is only a couple of shots back

now. A little bolt with that effort. -- bowled. They say the Masters does

not begin until the back nine on Sunday. This championship may not

begin until they reach the 13th or the 14th hole. That was a good saved

That is OK. She felt like our form was back a couple of weeks ago on

the Elbe PGA -- on the LPGA in Arkansas. She is showing it is back

this week. Inbee Park. It worked out all right for her. The hitherto

unflappable Inbee Park is not quite as unflappable. Shanshan Feng

choosing to putt. Well, the door is wide open for any number of players

to barge through and grab this title. Whether manages to do it will

have displayed a great deal of patience and resilience. -- whoever.

There is how things stand at the moment. This lady, Shanshan Feng, up

there at the top with Inbee Park. Suzann Pettersen leading the

European chase. Jessica Korda trying to set the clubhouse target for a

par of 17. -- at 17. That is a costly bogey on a par five at this

time of the championship. If she had made a birdie year, she would have

been right in the hunt. Four over par, a couple of shots too many.

That is going to ride away on the wind and off she goes. It looked

good at one point. Sun-Ju Ahn only one over par. You think of that

costly two shot penalty last night. Straight out of the gate this

morning with a double, double. American Stacy Lewis. The green is

looking very glassy at the moment. She has that for a par.

She still has not had a birdie today. A big putt here for Mo

Martin. That is huge. She is an hour ahead of the final group. If she

could pick up one or two birdies on the last four, that might be a very

stiff test. The second putt for Sun-Ju Ahn. Get in!

Tap it in quickly. That is it. Another shot gun. -- gone.

And as we have seen already this 11th green is no picnic so she will

have her work cut out for her to get down into 11 and two.

Little down breeze off the right, the 14th, 169, 7-iron.

The pin might be difficult to get at with this breeze. That is taking a

big risk. Five yards left. I am guessing the

equivalent of a two or 3-iron. That is quite a lot of club. Certainly

she doesn't want to drag it left, get it riding on the wind. She might

have something in mind, a little low bunty one or something.

Tougher to keep the hybrids low, mow, Marksaeng. Well, they vary a

lot in that respect. They are so varied these day, you can get them

to do virtually what you want, as long as you like hybrids, the

possibilities are endless. Oh, look at this. Wonderful shot

from Pettersen. Shot of day so far, I would suggest.

Well every shot is expensive. Lewis had one runner-up spot in her

career. In her professional career. Steady there for Charley Hull,

missing the green. She can't afford to make any more

a different she uses a different glove to putt than she does to hit

shots. I am not sure anybody else does that? Are they the same type of

at ten and 11, but now she has her work cut out to save par again.

How much will the wind affect this one?

What a difficult putt she has coming up. Well, there have been very many

different nationalities who won this championship since it became a major

in 2001. No Chinese golfer has ever won this one. Shanshan Feng is the

only Chinese golfer to have won a May your in the past. And the moment

we have only two women-under par, the Chinese and the Korean Inbee

Park, it is building beautifully. Jessica Korda, just finishing off

her round and making a bid to become clubhouse leader.

Just swept away, but into that swathe at the back of the green.

She might not want to use that. This would be an incredible birdie

out of that bunker. Yes. This is such a difficult section of

the golf course. It is just dig your toes in and hang on.

Hang on for dear life. Try and get to those par-5s with your sanity

some way intact. Inbee Park at the 11th. Hovering the

putt. She is worried the ball is going to move.

If a ball at rest is moved by an outsaid agency there is no penalty

and the ball must be replaced. It a question of fact whether the ball as

been move by an outsaid agency, to be virtually certain that the wind

moves it. Steady. Inbee Park with a double-bogey at ten, and missing out

on the par at 11. And Feng, if she could stroll this

one in, what a change that would be at the top.

That's fairly secure. She is going to find herself up at the top on her

own, in moments. Stacy Lewis made her par at 14. This

is Charley Hull making her three. So both Hull and Lewis remain at

4-over, heading to the par-515th. Three par-5s coming up in the final

four holes of the golf course. Huge care being taken by everybody

with these quite tiny putts. There might be a few choice words

regarding that whole location as the players get off the golf course

today. By the time they get to 18 they have probably forgotten about

it with everything that is in front of them It is the first time that

Inbee Park has slip out of red figures for a considerable time. It

will be a double-bogey for Sun-Ju Ahn, she will drop back to 4-over

par. She started the back nine, Boag yes, bogey, double-bogey.

21st in the world Sun-Ju Ahn, won three time on the Japanese ladies

tour this year. Up on 16, Mo Martin. Come on. She had it on line, if she

had given it a touch more. But she is going to have the wind

assisting her a little by on 17 and 18.

Two par-5s coming up. What would you give for a birdie par Northern

Irish? I would more for a birdie bierty difinish, she can do that.

18, so that is a 74 and Jessica Korda has a clubhouse lead at three

Championship alongside Pettersen. Mo Martin, who has just been plodding

round the golf course, is only two behind, trying to set a new target

in the clubhouse. The windiest day we have had during

the Championship, it was like this on Wednesday, the final practise

day, so the players will have played the golf course in these conditions

but not for three or four days. As we welcome back Peter, who, the

commentary, it is very exciting. Anything could happen Peter. It is

not got any easier, Tom, I stuck my head outside and nearly got blown

This green is hard to hit. She has a 7-iron.

She is going to try and hit it pretty straight or even hold it up a

tiny fraction into the wind. Anything drawing to any I degree

will simply roll off left. -- any degree.

I didn't see within Pettersen finished but Inbee Park has an

8-iron. There have been similar distance all the way round, so she

may be trying a slightly different shape of shot.

Generates a lot of power with that lazy swing. That could be a play out

backwards job if you're unlucky. 13, 27th Paraguayan Julieta Granada.

It looks good. Granada for two birdies on the back nine.

Over to the 17th, Stanford for a par at the 17th.

Suzann Pettersen -- Gwladys Nocera for a birdie at 17. That brings her

back to six over. Nasty. Looks like she could actually

get a stance but she is going to be uncomfortably close to the ball. The

lie is not brilliant. It is almost on a down piece of sand. It needs a

lot of care, this shot, to make sure you get it out. Take your medicine.

Very tricky. This is an awkward shot.

She may look back at that shot at the end of the day and it may make

the difference. If she holds this one, yes. Some things can happen

over these last few holes. -- so many things. Just through the back.

So easy to take three from there to get down. Good looking shot. She has

got nothing for it. Back to the 12th and Suzann Pettersen. She is putting

it again. I don't think she likes these chip shots. It is not that

difficult a putt to get fairly close. If you get aggressive or

overconfident, it is easy to back it passed. -- to strike it passed.

That was pretty good. Amelia Lewis on the tee at the par three. 169

yards today. The first one pitched a bit hard and went through the back.

That may have released a little more. Tricky left to right for Inbee

Park. She played the bunker shot really well. That is a good putt. It

could be important. Ebb and flow, ebb and flow. That was a good rescue

there. Suzann Pettersen is left with a

tricky one for her par. It is moments like this you have thoughts

come into your head you really do not want. You have got to

concentrate on what you have got to do.

With the flags fluttering, then there was one. One under par.

Shanshan Feng from China. She started at the age of ten. Her dad

worked for the Chinese golf Association and that is how she got

into the game. Jessica Korda is in the clubhouse, in pole position.

been? Incredibly tough. Not only mentally tough but it is tough on

myself and the caddie. You may have a number set in mind but you don't

know where the ball is going to go. You pray to God Phil Ball come back

to the green. We have seen a couple of the balls rolling backwards. It

is quite tricky? Yes, it is. It is not easy on the greens. It is not

pleasant out there. How close do you think this could be by the end of

the day? The last holes coming in are pretty tough. The wind seems to

Royal Liverpool. Better known perhaps as Hoylake. Next Thursday it

say he has got no chance and he has not played for six months. He is an

extraordinary person with a very strong golfing mind. It would not

surprise me if he did not win it. Here is that sort of player. But to

write him off, I think, is rather foolish. He has some wonderful touch

and imagination. A different course this year. Very hard and bouncy.

Back to this action with the ladies. Mo Martin. This is a big putt for Mo

Martin. She remains at one over. Did you play your first Open

Championship Hoylake? I did. 1967 -- 1947. I was 16 years of age. My

father took me there believing he had found the new Tom Morris Junior.

But sadly he didn't. Fred Daly won. Bill Shankland was second. Well

done. This is now beginning to warm up a bit. Who is going to hold on

and hang on and get a bit of luck, maybe? Amelia Lewis has this for a

par. Still has a chance to win the championship. She may need a couple

golfers. She said she wasn't going to play

many events out of the United States of America. She enjoys her time in

Texas and playing in the US. Well there are so many wonderful

courses round the world, Australia, New Zealand have superb golf course,

interesting courses in Japan, and Sweden.

163 for Pettersen in the semi rough but it shouldn't be a problem, she

shouldn't get a flyer unless she is carelessly steep on it. Although she

is trying to get her swing steeper at the moment, as you can see from

her sort of exaggerated take away. Third shot on its way.

15th hole. Not been Charley's day. She has one brilliant round, but

one. This is not easy off the down one. This is not easy off the down

She is telling herself you should have it that a lot harder. That was

a bit of space between her and the rest of the field, and now she has

to make that to remain 1-under. Well Suzann Pettersen is not in long

rough but it is where players walk off to the next tee so it is lying

against her. The bat is nestled down so it is not an easy shot. She is

taking a utility club to remove the fact is grass is against her

completely and get a strike on it that will bumble it down to three or

four feet. .

She played that absolutely brilliantly.

Theoretically it's a good birdie chance. It is not the sort of putt

you want to have a rush at. Is Looks pretty good. Oh, she has

got it. And Inbee Park is in the lead.

how things can change, just one shot. She has been struggling and

things drifting away, and suddenly something goes in, and Pettersen has

to hold this one now. You know, this isn't a cert by a long chalk.

It should move right-to-left but I don't think it will, for some

reason. I don't know if is the wind or the way it looks, but...

It did move a whisker, you can't say that is it, it's gone. That was a

well struck second shot that looked absolutely, theshire shot didn't

look tosh too bad and cost another couple of shots.

This could be interesting for Mo Martin, second shot tost 18th.

Watson's iron, how about this one is this how about this one then? I tell

you what, if she could put that in that will put the cat among the

pigeon, if you pardon the expression.

Well, you keep out temperature fairway and get it on the green

don't three put all the time. You are are a match for anyone. Conrare

to what the thinking is. That is Luke Donald, I like watching him.

Get it down there, putts beautifully, and you become a good

player and make a good living. Everybody comes into golf to be a

Major champion and be the number one, nobody says I am pretty good so

I think I might, with a bit of luck make a living doing it.

Tie for the lead. Steady, the big first bounce is going to run off the

the right. Pettersen on the tee. At the 14th. It was a surprise Inbee

Park shot going through. Pettersen is hitting an 8-iron. She will take

a couple of yards off it. Pin right. She has hit that well left of the

pin. You down in that little hollow.

green. Mo enjoying it. Enjoy it even more if you can pop it

in though. Not time yet to be carried away by

the adulation of the multitude. Marina Alex for a birdie at the

18th. Mo Mo still to putt her eagle chance but Alex will finish with a

birdie there. Could be all-important come the end of the season, you

never know, trying to earn enough money to keep her playing

privileges, big purse on offer, she knows how important it is.

To end 1-under par, and if it goes in, which it does, I tell you what,

that might surprise them all. Well done old pal. One were di-- birdie,

an eagle at the last. I was celebrating a bit early, I did my

back. There she is.

It is very, it is a very fanciable, that score is very cheeky.

Peter from one Mo to another welcome back to Maureen. What about it Mo?

My goodness what that second shot was just the shot of the

Championship so far, but it ain't over yet. Amelia Lewis had two in

the bunker. That was a moment of brilliance by Mo Mo.

Three bogey, one birdie and one oh so precious eagle. -- Mo Martin. We

have been talking about the changes that can take place and there was a

classic example. Wasn't a bad tee shot but it found a

horrible lie through the green. Just kept on going to the longer rough,

it is a real big clump behind it and athe grass is growing into her as

well, so this is a very difficult chip.

tee shot and you end up struggling. Ken Brown has moved up to this

match. Granada with the putt. Up a steep bank. This is when nerves are

going to take over. That was a miscue. It really gives nobody any

pleasure to see people struggling. That was a misjudgement on many

points. It will be interesting at the end of the day to see just how

much money that final putt of Mo Martin's will make further. There's

?100,000 difference between first and second and 50,000 or so between

second and third. It is a lot of money. Bad luck. Three putts from

nowhere. Suzann Pettersen has got the putter

out. That was very good for pace. This 14th green is relatively close

to the 18th. Where the final group are, they will have heard that huge

commotion. I am sure Inbee Park is fully aware of what is happening.

holes. Lewis with a triple bogey putt here. What an expensive hole.

Three shots gone in the twinkle of an eye.

Joint leader, Shanshan Feng. I've had an interesting letter in from

Jimmy Rimmer in Bevington on the Wirral. His family's connections

with the golf in this area. Nice to hear from you, sir. The flight here

at 15, 20 eight yards long. She is going to fly this a good portion of

the way off the green. It doesn't look far but you see how

aggressively she swung the club. That was a good one. An ace. Peter,

would you rather be in the clubhouse on one under, or out on the course

at level or one over? In the clubhouse, I think. I think Mo

Martin is a very -- is in a very good position. 14 bunkers to avoid

on this hole. The first job is to find the fairway. That looks good.

It is very nice to see Suzann Pettersen swinging so freely after

the injuries she has suffered this year. She was recommended to go and

see somebody about her back by Freddie couples. She had all sorts

of movement patterns observed and improved and is feeling a great deal

better now. Inbee Park. That is pretty good. It seems many

more players, both men and women, are injured now than they were 30

years ago. Whether that is because of the work they do in the

gymnasium... I was reading that Ian Poulter was lifting heavyweights

that he decided were too heavy. He tore some ligaments in his shoulder.

It seems to be a professional hazard these days. Yes. Do you think they

practice longer hours and hit more golf balls as well? Yes. Granada

could have a rip-roaring finish. Julieta Granada won that huge

tournament in 2006. She won about $1.6 million, which in one fell

swoop as made up almost half of her career earnings. This is a long

birdie putt. Slow. She got it up there. It tales away. -- it tailed

away. Interesting how the design of

Potters macro has changed in the last 30 or 40 years. All shapes and

sizes now. They are so well-balanced, some of them, they

almost swing themselves. Safely done.

Every scorecard today is telling a story of trials and tribulations.

And if you are very lucky, a few high spots. This is not an easy

putt. This is to take the outright lead. There are par five is coming

on. This is a slippery one. The wind across. Looks fairly

straightforward. But it is very easy to hit this to hard up be right,

dribble it a bit, listed on the left. -- miss it.

Easy. -- do you see? It stays tied. It was not easy.

Only a par. After that splendid shot into the green.

That has got to be a clubbing error. She seemed to strike it nicely. Held

her balance well. She is a good 25 yards short of the flag. 245 yards

to the front of this par 5/15, Inbee Park. -- par five, 15th. That was

safely up 40 or 50 yards short of the green. I don't think she could

have reached anywhere today. It is as good as a good one. Good angle

into the flag for her third. I think you are right. Suzann Pettersen may

get fairly close if she gives it a fair wallop. If you start to swing

it in from the right to the left in the wind, there is a fair amount of

trouble the head. The right sort of showed -- shot could get very close.

Can she apply the power? Aiming up the right. She didn't hold back,

Mark. That was a good hit but she let it go left. No real damage. It

could be a rather tacky life. Charley Hull on the 17th. Dropped a

shot on 15. Another on 16. Plus six. That was a colossal shot. No birdies

so far today for Charley Hull. She would love to putt that one in for

an eagle. That is the situation as it stands

at the moment. Mo Martin still at the top. Shanshan Feng is out

there. The greatest day of Mo Martin's life.

Describe the veps in closing stages of that round? Well, it was a tough

day of golf. It was very windy and the course is channelling, so stayed

patient and I fortunately played some good golf tide. You played some

great golf at the 18th. When you were on the tee you were two shots

behind, what was in your mind? Just my drive. Just, I picked the left

side so I hit it up that left side. Let it feed right so committing to

my line there, and the strategy that my caddy and I had all week, and the

second shot there was one I am always going to remember. I think we

will all remember it. You had underclubbed the day before, what

did you give this? This was a full three wood. I was off a bit of a

left-to-right lie, which let it feed. I said sit, then go, then I

said I don't know what else to say. I heard it, hit the flag, and, that

is when I said "Oh my God." One of the greatest shots of your life.

Yes, absolutely. 100%. Standing over the putt knowing this could be

decisive not only for your career but in this Championship. Same

thing, I wanted to get a good read on. Put the best stroke on it and

did. I was not sure about my line so I backed off once and it went in. We

could see what it meant to you, your best finish a major has been in the

top 30. A tie for 29th. What has made the difference this week? Why

has it all come good? From the first time I saw royal berk dale I fell in

love. The I think the lay out is phenomenal. I was talking if I was

in this position, or when I was I would pick Kiel up, instead, my

caddy, but that didn't work out. Love the golf course, we put some

good work in, I want to thank my coach for having faith and my

sponsors too, so this has been a fantastic vent. It is not finished

yet. Don't go anywhere just yet. I won't. Thank you.

How lovely. Inbee Park, third shot. Not a bad

line. Get it up. Don't see many up to the hole.

See it stops very quickly if you are bold enough. That is good, given her

a good chance of a birdie. This one will be more difficult to control.

Landing it shorter. Letting it run. Trying to feed it up to the flag.

Up at the 17th after that cracking second shot Charley Hull has this

putt. Ten footer or so.

For a 3-under par-5. En and she needs a bit of something.

She has had four bogies on this nine. Go on which willy. Come op

Charley. Slid away.

here a little. Disappointing way to finish.

Oh that is an inward nine of 41. 79 total. Finishing on plus six which

at the moment is 16th place. Promised more than that towards the

end of the back nine. Pet at the 15th. 2-over par, this is

a birdie chance. Again, this is easy from side. It tends to wander away,

depending on the pace you hit it. We have hardly seen any balls running

at the hole from this side. Asking a lot, was itst pace, I suppose that

sort of thing. -- 12 paces. It was a good attempt

out of the rough. It was a good attempt at running up it a low

runner, obviously runner. Now she has about 25 feet. Doesn't do a lot

of this this, they have put the pin on a flat spot on this part of the

green. This should be relatively straight.
