After years of financial boom-and- bust, his football finally about to | :00:06. | :00:15.
put its house in order? Tonight, you can judge for yourselves. | :00:15. | :00:25.
:00:25. | :00:27. | ||
Enough is enough, with their game heading for financial meltdown, it | :00:27. | :00:31.
is time to put the end to demand gloom. I don't know how many clubs | :00:31. | :00:35.
are insolvent at it -- insolvent out of the 72 in the Football | :00:35. | :00:40.
League, but I think it is his huge percentage. We have a new segment | :00:40. | :00:45.
on the FIFA Fair Play rules and how they will impact the game. We will | :00:45. | :00:48.
say a reduction in players' salaries going forward. | :00:48. | :00:52.
And is this man the answer to England's prayers? It is time for | :00:52. | :00:58.
you to have your say on the great Grant Holt debate. | :00:58. | :01:01.
Yes, good evening, good to have you with us. A packed programme once | :01:02. | :01:06.
again, including highlights of today's B game in League Two, | :01:06. | :01:12.
Southend taking on cruelly. That B game. Perry Groves with me tonight, | :01:12. | :01:19.
nice to see you on time. Also with me, Adrian Forbes, currently of | :01:20. | :01:25.
Lowestoft Town. Good evening. First, no fewer than a quarter of | :01:25. | :01:30.
the country's 92 clubs have entered administration in recent years, | :01:30. | :01:34.
including a fair few in this part of the world, but are we about to | :01:34. | :01:37.
see an end to the boom-and-bust culture in the game? That is the | :01:37. | :01:40.
plan as financial fair-play rules come into the Football League from | :01:40. | :01:47.
next season. John Upton Park report. next season. John Upton Park report. | :01:47. | :01:57.
:01:57. | :01:58. | ||
They form a huge part of any local community, with thousands of fans, | :01:58. | :02:02.
hundreds of staff, football clubs spend millions in search for | :02:02. | :02:06.
success. When it goes right, no one complains. But when it goes wrong, | :02:06. | :02:11.
it is the local committee that suffers. The administration period, | :02:11. | :02:16.
while difficult for all involved, will give stability to the club in | :02:16. | :02:26.
:02:26. | :02:32. | ||
What state you think footballers in at the moment? What state? I think | :02:32. | :02:37.
Football League chairman -- the Football League chairman was very | :02:37. | :02:41.
clear, awful. I doubt there how many clubs are insolvent out of the | :02:41. | :02:44.
72 in the Football League but I should think it is a huge | :02:44. | :02:48.
percentage. It is long overdue but football is finally waking up. | :02:48. | :02:54.
Financial fair play is coming and not a moment too soon. Uefa are | :02:54. | :03:01.
driving financial fair play. Their total or the big clubs in Europe, | :03:01. | :03:05.
what they spend and what they make. The income for all of depression | :03:05. | :03:11.
that professional clubs is 10 billion across Europe but | :03:11. | :03:14.
expenditure is 12 billion. It is unstable and something has to | :03:14. | :03:18.
change. What is proposed is that for next season, clubs in the | :03:18. | :03:22.
Championship, including Ipswich and Peterborough, would work to a new | :03:22. | :03:27.
breed even model, were they can only spend what they make. -- break | :03:27. | :03:34.
even. If not, they can face fines and bans. The Revenue we generate | :03:34. | :03:39.
has to match the expenditure that we spend on behalf of the club. | :03:39. | :03:43.
There is a level of deviation that is allowed, certainly for the first | :03:43. | :03:48.
6-8 years and that will be reduced year on year. The implications of | :03:48. | :03:53.
not breaking even within that deviation figure means that clubs | :03:53. | :03:56.
will be fined and that money will then be distributed among the other | :03:56. | :04:02.
clubs. How does it affect a club like Ipswich, who have historically | :04:02. | :04:06.
live beyond their means? Last count, there debt was 66 million. | :04:06. | :04:11.
How sustainable is Ipswich? Bury sustainable. We are very fortunate | :04:11. | :04:17.
to have it usually supportive owner in the form of Marcus Evans -- very | :04:17. | :04:21.
sustainable. His desire to support the team and to build a team here | :04:21. | :04:24.
that can take promotion through to the Premiership at the earliest | :04:24. | :04:31.
opportunity has not waved one iota other than a -- last few seasons. | :04:31. | :04:34.
Stevenage are a club hoping to be playing in the Championship next | :04:34. | :04:38.
season and are also hoped that also helped by a wealthy owned it. Phil | :04:38. | :04:44.
Wallace has been but -- running them for years, and there are a | :04:44. | :04:48.
model for most. The chairman has to earn the trust of fans by making | :04:48. | :04:52.
the right decisions and not putting the club into bankruptcy and not | :04:52. | :04:57.
going down that slippery road. That is not easy, because fans want to | :04:57. | :05:07.
:05:07. | :05:08. | ||
win. It is funny, but share men want to win as well. -- chairman. | :05:08. | :05:10.
It worries me to see some of the Premier League finances, because | :05:10. | :05:13.
they are relying on the past and hoping that the future is going to | :05:13. | :05:17.
be as successful. When you look at clubs like Man City, they want to | :05:17. | :05:22.
buy the lead. Look at Crawley, they want to buy the lead. But do they | :05:22. | :05:26.
have the financial backing to keep them solvent? There is one area | :05:26. | :05:30.
where football clubs can make big savings, the players. They might | :05:30. | :05:34.
have to get used to live where salaries become more realistic. | :05:34. | :05:41.
is going to have to impact players' salaries going forward but speaking | :05:41. | :05:45.
to Peers across the Championship, everybody is facing this and what | :05:45. | :05:48.
we will definitely see is the reduction in players' salaries | :05:48. | :05:54.
going forward. Are you ready for salaries to drop? I think you have | :05:54. | :05:57.
got to have in the back of your mind that it may have to drop but | :05:57. | :06:01.
as a player, you should be paid watch you feel you deserve. Again, | :06:01. | :06:04.
this is football, it is the business and it is not fair on the | :06:05. | :06:08.
fans to see clubs going into administration and having financial | :06:08. | :06:12.
difficulties, but as a player, you have got things that you need take | :06:12. | :06:17.
care of two. The need to lower player wages is obvious. It | :06:17. | :06:23.
Ipswich's case it is around 80% of their entire turnover. Clubs like | :06:23. | :06:27.
Southend are already restricted by a salary cap, which restricts the | :06:27. | :06:32.
player wages to 60% of turnover. Next year, clubs in League One will | :06:32. | :06:35.
introduce a similar model. So financial fair play is here to stay, | :06:36. | :06:39.
but on its way out it seems is the football creditors rule, which | :06:40. | :06:43.
allows clubs and players to be paid in full if the team for some two | :06:43. | :06:46.
administration, while other creditors have to accept a fraction | :06:46. | :06:56.
:06:56. | :06:56. | ||
of what is owed. If you took that away, it fire and then playing a | :06:56. | :07:00.
team in the FA Cup and I know they are insolvent -- if I am then | :07:00. | :07:03.
playing a team in the FA Cup and I know they are insolvent and they | :07:03. | :07:06.
are taking my share of the money, how am I going to feel if I have | :07:06. | :07:13.
not been paid for months? I don't know how football can operate | :07:13. | :07:16.
effectively if the football creditors role is removed. Equally, | :07:16. | :07:20.
would I sell a player to another club on a 12 month instalment plan | :07:20. | :07:24.
if I thought they wouldn't pay? will find the most successful clubs | :07:24. | :07:27.
and football are the ones without too many changes behind the scenes | :07:27. | :07:31.
and they will deal with the evolving landscape best. Players | :07:31. | :07:36.
and agents might be the biggest losers. Few will complain on the | :07:36. | :07:40.
terraces if football manages to balance the books. | :07:40. | :07:44.
Adrian, in this region, Ipswich and Northampton amongst others have all | :07:44. | :07:48.
gone into administration but you were at Luton when they had their | :07:48. | :07:53.
financial problems. Yes, a very difficult time. I was playing | :07:53. | :07:56.
first-team football, regular football, but I also had a family | :07:56. | :08:00.
to support, so the players at that moment in time were getting no | :08:00. | :08:05.
money from the club. The none at all. How did that go on -- how long | :08:05. | :08:11.
did that go on? It was just shy of the year, I actually left and went | :08:11. | :08:14.
to Swansea before recouping any of the money. So you went a whole year | :08:14. | :08:19.
before you were paid? Physically no money coming in, say you need an | :08:19. | :08:24.
understanding bank manager and have any funds behind Jude... And an | :08:24. | :08:30.
understanding wife! Supposedly they were living outside their means. | :08:30. | :08:35.
Definitely. And what we heard there is a good idea. Luton is a great | :08:35. | :08:39.
club and that was obviously the case then and it was fundamental | :08:39. | :08:43.
errors made upstairs that forced the club into administration. I | :08:43. | :08:47.
keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen to the club again. | :08:47. | :08:50.
Do you think the financial fair play a role will make any | :08:50. | :08:57.
difference? I'm a bit sceptical. They said from 6-8 years, you have | :08:57. | :09:00.
implemented and I don't think all clubs will go for it. But it. | :09:00. | :09:06.
Average players earning big money. The top players will still earn big | :09:06. | :09:10.
money -- it will stop average players. But something has to be | :09:10. | :09:14.
done, because we have seen Portsmouth, Rangers, Port Vale, | :09:14. | :09:17.
they have all suffered financial problems in recent weeks. Something | :09:17. | :09:22.
has to be done. I don't see why football is different to any other | :09:22. | :09:24.
business, any other business running insolvent we wouldn't be | :09:24. | :09:30.
able to trade. If you want to buy a football club, but a big deposit | :09:30. | :09:34.
down and if you get in financial trouble, you use that and you get | :09:34. | :09:40.
your deposit back like if you buy a house. Let's look at the current | :09:40. | :09:44.
fortunes of the team on the pitch. Actually, back to off the pitch | :09:44. | :09:47.
problems with Jimmy Bullard and Michael Chopra at Ipswich, of | :09:47. | :09:51.
course. Both of them had a bit of a night out, one has been fined, one | :09:51. | :09:56.
has been suspended. What you make of that? One is very important to | :09:56. | :09:59.
the team and the other is on the periphery. It doesn't surprise me | :09:59. | :10:02.
they have been treated differently because it happens in football | :10:02. | :10:06.
clubs. It was sanctioned night out by Marcus Evans and both of them | :10:06. | :10:09.
decided to find their own entertainment elsewhere and | :10:09. | :10:13.
obviously, their alarm clocks didn't go off. Had you think they | :10:13. | :10:17.
will react in the dressing room? think the lads will know what is | :10:17. | :10:20.
going on and they will know why the manager has made the decision with | :10:20. | :10:24.
regards to the punishment he has given. If you look at Michael | :10:24. | :10:28.
Chopra, it is well-documented with the trouble he has had with his | :10:28. | :10:32.
life outside of football and taking football away from him, different | :10:32. | :10:36.
people react in different ways and I think that that situation, it is | :10:36. | :10:38.
I think that that situation, it is easier to keep him playing. Baby | :10:38. | :10:44.
Paul Jewell got it spot on, because he got the opening goal. It was his | :10:44. | :10:50.
100 Club goal as well, so... That is Michael Chopra or smacking it | :10:50. | :10:56.
over the crossbar but this is his first goal. A good cross and | :10:56. | :11:02.
Michael Chopra puts them 1-0 up. Tommy Smith played for New Zealand | :11:02. | :11:07.
in the week, at 24,000 mile round trip. He got a goal as well. | :11:07. | :11:13.
Unbelievable. He is like Villiers fob, I wouldn't mind having his air | :11:13. | :11:23.
:11:23. | :11:26. | ||
form. They have won five out of six and they seem to be going in the | :11:26. | :11:31.
right direction. It was documented early in the season that they | :11:31. | :11:35.
didn't have a good time. Paul Jewell came on and they couldn't | :11:35. | :11:39.
win, but now everything seems to be going to plan. And there is that | :11:39. | :11:43.
man, Tommy Smith. It was a good delivery from the corner from Andy | :11:43. | :11:49.
Drury. He has not been offered a contract, I know he wants to stay. | :11:49. | :11:52.
They will get inside. This was probably the goal of the game, | :11:52. | :11:58.
Michael Chopra laying it off and no chance for David James. We recent | :11:58. | :12:01.
form will be tested tomorrow against Southampton, the league | :12:01. | :12:03.
against Southampton, the league leaders. Southampton are a tough | :12:03. | :12:06.
task for anyone at the moment and they are looking very comfortable | :12:06. | :12:10.
for promotion, but Ipswich will be full of confidence and it will be | :12:10. | :12:20.
:12:20. | :12:24. | ||
an interesting 90 minutes. Let's That is not too bad for Ipswich. | :12:24. | :12:29.
Five wins out of six. They have turned around their home form. It | :12:29. | :12:37.
is -- as an Ipswich fan, you would be happy. Ipswich play Southampton. | :12:37. | :12:43.
Ricky Lambert, a former team-mate of Grand hold, wants to emulate him. | :12:43. | :12:50.
There is a big debate, do you think he should be called up? Well, for | :12:50. | :12:53.
me, the England team, it is going through a transitional period at | :12:53. | :12:59.
the moment. Stuart Pearce came out and said he wanted to pick a | :12:59. | :13:03.
younger squad. I would say that he deserves an opportunity at the | :13:03. | :13:13.
:13:13. | :13:18. | ||
moment because he is scoring goals. bustling centre-forward. I just | :13:18. | :13:28.
:13:28. | :13:31. | ||
think that at international level, We asked for your response on | :13:31. | :13:41.
:13:41. | :14:05. | ||
Well, there is a selection of your tweets. Kevin Davies played for | :14:05. | :14:10.
England. Yes. The only thing I would say with Grant told is this | :14:10. | :14:14.
his first season in the Premier League, and you get your first | :14:14. | :14:18.
season free. In the next season, if he does the same, he will have a | :14:18. | :14:25.
better claim. And what about John Ruddy? He has had a superb season. | :14:25. | :14:29.
His performances have been superb. You wonder whether Norwich is a | :14:29. | :14:32.
smaller club at the moment. A few of their players have been | :14:32. | :14:38.
overlooked. Grant Holt, Paul Lambert wasn't quite sure he could | :14:38. | :14:47.
play. Yes, but John Terry was given a torrid time at Carrow Road. Grant | :14:47. | :14:52.
Holt has improved. The jury is out until next dear. Back to the | :14:52. | :14:55.
Championship and football. Peterborough went to Crystal Palace | :14:55. | :15:05.
:15:05. | :15:11. | ||
and a disappointing result for them score a lot of goals. Tyrone Barnet, | :15:11. | :15:16.
he looks lively. Yes, and he gives them a bit of pace. He has got a | :15:16. | :15:21.
lot of confidence. That is a decent save. If you are playing up front | :15:21. | :15:27.
with Peterborough, they have had good chances. They are 10 points | :15:27. | :15:31.
clear of the relegation but it is one win in 10. They need to find | :15:31. | :15:37.
their form quickly. They are playing at home in next eight | :15:37. | :15:44.
matches. You make your home therefore Trust. The fans are the | :15:44. | :15:47.
12th man. That can be the difference in promotion or | :15:47. | :15:54.
relegation of. Paul Jones, he gets caught up. He hasn't got to punch | :15:54. | :16:04.
:16:04. | :16:06. | ||
his highest point. So Crystal The games that are left, it is do- | :16:06. | :16:09.
able, if they can concentrate on their home form and see how many | :16:09. | :16:15.
drawers they can take. Star Tin tomorrow night. He is their fixture. | :16:15. | :16:18.
Peterborough play Millwall and Ipswich would that tough test away | :16:19. | :16:23.
at Southampton. Commentary will be on BBC local radio. | :16:23. | :16:27.
Still to come, action from tonight's big clash at the top of | :16:27. | :16:31.
League Two, Southend and Crawley, but first, a word about Sport | :16:31. | :16:35.
Relief. Mr O'Leary? Speed King. Or would | :16:35. | :16:40.
you like to do the Sport Relief Mile? I'm sorry. I am doing one | :16:41. | :16:49.
already. If only you had called me yesterday. You will? A brilliant! | :16:49. | :16:52.
Whole you do your support mile with? | :16:52. | :17:00.
You can do the mile or the shirt of heard. We have done this before. It | :17:00. | :17:04.
is you have to wear the opposition's shirt. A driven, you | :17:04. | :17:10.
have to wear and Ipswich showed. What do you reckon? You can pay a | :17:10. | :17:15.
forfeit. Perry, I have got one for you. Weren't you were that? Are I | :17:15. | :17:22.
would rather set my head on fire. - - I would rather have. I will put | :17:22. | :17:28.
money in the kitty rather than where this Norwich shirt. I haven't | :17:28. | :17:35.
even looked down at this showed. League One. MK Dons. A valuable | :17:35. | :17:45.
:17:45. | :17:48. | ||
point. They had so many people go to. You can see the empty bench. | :17:48. | :17:54.
Luke Chadwick does really well. He gets a shot off and hits the post. | :17:54. | :17:58.
It is a difficult place to go, because you know you have to be in | :17:58. | :18:02.
the game. Kyle was on the show and he was bullish about automatic and | :18:02. | :18:10.
getting into that second place. Do you fancy they can do that? They | :18:10. | :18:15.
have got the ability and the players, if the players stay fit. | :18:15. | :18:19.
Obviously, you've got to keep going and keep pushing until it is | :18:19. | :18:27.
mathematically impossible. They like their set pieces. Yes. A great | :18:27. | :18:35.
free-kick from Sean Williams. And then Chadwick, again, unlucky. | :18:35. | :18:44.
They are suddenly pushing for that second spot. They have got the | :18:44. | :18:50.
train back on the rails and they are playing with confidence. Luke | :18:50. | :18:54.
Chadwick, he is experienced, Alyn Smith. This is the table. They have | :18:55. | :19:02.
six points away from Sheffield Wednesday. That second spot is up | :19:02. | :19:09.
for grabs. Notts County, of the teams around them, managed to win | :19:09. | :19:16.
their game, so it was a big point at Hartlepool. Stevenage, a point | :19:16. | :19:21.
outside the play-offs. They got a decent point at Exeter. They were | :19:21. | :19:26.
fighting for their life. They come up against the goalkeeper who | :19:26. | :19:36.
:19:36. | :19:38. | ||
played for marriage. -- who played for Norwich. | :19:38. | :19:43.
Did you play for him? Is a played with him. His career has been | :19:43. | :19:49.
superb. Gary Smith said they paid the price for his slow start. And | :19:49. | :19:56.
they did. Poor defending. Getting completely mixed up. It is a | :19:56. | :20:06.
:20:06. | :20:08. | ||
brilliant goal. Superb technique and volley. Van Persie. It is not | :20:08. | :20:14.
difficult but superb finish. Stevenage are in the blue strip. | :20:14. | :20:18.
Maybe they should have won it. They got an equaliser against | :20:18. | :20:23.
Huddersfield. It was a good point but they haven't won Maxim's the | :20:23. | :20:29.
Spurs game. Has that affected them much? -- they have and won since | :20:29. | :20:33.
the Spurs game. They need to get their confidence back in and they | :20:33. | :20:37.
need to get back into their goalscoring ways. And Stevenage, | :20:37. | :20:42.
their season, and the last couple of years, amazing. They must be | :20:42. | :20:47.
looking forward to their game at Spurs. Looking at them years ago, | :20:47. | :20:51.
to have them clam up, to play against Tottenham is superb. You | :20:51. | :20:56.
hope it doesn't distract from their league form. Confirmation of that | :20:56. | :21:01.
game away at Spurs on Wednesday. Good luck to them. To Colchester | :21:01. | :21:05.
and the return of an old friend, Graham Westley, the Preston manager | :21:05. | :21:12.
now. He is struggling, though. has won one out of seven. He likes | :21:12. | :21:22.
:21:22. | :21:23. | ||
his team to play physically. John Ward take some credit here. It was | :21:23. | :21:29.
a shock that Freddie was left on the bench. Now, handball? | :21:29. | :21:37.
Absolutely not. Let's see it, slow- motion. I don't see what he is | :21:37. | :21:41.
supposed to do their. He does have his hand there, but he was very | :21:41. | :21:51.
:21:51. | :21:51. | ||
hard done by. Steven Gillespie, he is -- his 8th goal of the season. | :21:51. | :21:56.
This is a breakaway. Preston are pressing, great movement between | :21:56. | :22:03.
Bond and Hearn doesn't. Goal of the week? I would say so. They have | :22:03. | :22:08.
taken a bit of stick in the past. That was brilliant. Tommy has come | :22:08. | :22:13.
of age. He is starting to show his form. Some players, they can start | :22:13. | :22:19.
at a certain club but it doesn't do it for them. But they go on to | :22:19. | :22:23.
progress massively. Games coming in thick and fast and a big test for | :22:23. | :22:29.
them tomorrow away at Charlton, the league leaders. MK Dons at home to | :22:29. | :22:37.
Yeovil. For -- full commentary on BBC. There is no pressure on | :22:37. | :22:45.
Colchester. If Freddie Sears goes back again, I wouldn't be surprised. | :22:45. | :22:52.
He has pace. Northampton, 2-0 up at Cheltenham, you fancy they will get | :22:52. | :22:59.
three points, but it wasn't to be. A specially going 1-0 up so quickly. | :22:59. | :23:05.
Obviously, they scrambled the goal at far post from Ben Tozer. Things | :23:05. | :23:11.
were looking good. Akinfenwa were, he out muscles Alan Bennett and | :23:11. | :23:15.
gets his 12th of the season. feels as fit as he has been for a | :23:15. | :23:20.
while. I played with him, and I know him, and he definitely looks | :23:20. | :23:25.
after himself! A transfer three. That one needs to go in. That | :23:25. | :23:34.
should have been an. But he censored in deeper. Johnson, he | :23:34. | :23:43.
told Aidy Boothroyd in the face... They have had one clean sheet in 24 | :23:43. | :23:48.
games, that is the problem. You can score all them goals, but if you | :23:48. | :23:51.
are going to leak as many goals as that, you are going to be in | :23:52. | :23:59.
trouble. You just need your players to keep | :23:59. | :24:07.
a cool head, and that was panic stations. Cheltenham had not | :24:07. | :24:12.
conceded four 5.5 hours. So that is a big point for Northampton. They | :24:12. | :24:18.
cannot afford to get cut off at the bottom. They are three points off | :24:18. | :24:25.
safety, Dagenham & Redbridge. Akinfenwa's goals might keep the | :24:25. | :24:31.
mark. Tomorrow night, a massive game at home to Bristol Rovers. | :24:31. | :24:35.
They need the goals. Just to put pressure around the teams around | :24:35. | :24:42.
them. So Northampton have got to build on their draw off. At the top | :24:42. | :24:47.
end, Southend's winner saw them return to the top three. Charlton | :24:47. | :24:50.
could go a second if they beat Crawley tonight. Here is how it | :24:50. | :25:00.
:25:00. | :25:06. | ||
1-0 defeat at Torquay. A wet and windy Knight, posing some problems. | :25:06. | :25:11.
The visitors made the first impression. Billy Clarke, just wide | :25:11. | :25:16.
of the post. It would be an eventful evening for both Clarke | :25:16. | :25:24.
and Bulford. Chances few and far between in a scruffy 45 minutes. | :25:24. | :25:30.
Southend's first opening was midway through the first half. South | :25:30. | :25:34.
Kent's on loan under 19 international with a good patch | :25:34. | :25:38.
after the throw and a sharp shot on the turn. United struggling to find | :25:38. | :25:43.
their rhythm for long periods and nearly paying the price for a | :25:43. | :25:48.
sloppy pass intercepted by Scott Davies. A good save. Harris could | :25:48. | :25:54.
have made amends moments later, breaking clear, but he pulled this | :25:54. | :26:00.
effort wide. No goals at half-time. The game then burst into life on | :26:00. | :26:08.
the hour. Crawley awarded a penalty. The goalkeeper booted out the shot. | :26:08. | :26:15.
Chris Buckler handball on the line. The Shrimpers skipper was sent off. | :26:15. | :26:20.
Southend down to 10. Barker could have few complaints. Latent | :26:20. | :26:30.
:26:30. | :26:31. | ||
handball. Clarke took the penalty. It was saved. A big let-off for the | :26:31. | :26:35.
Shrimpers, but full credit to the keeper on loan from Bury and in | :26:35. | :26:42.
tremendous form. Southend down to 10 and reduced to nine when | :26:42. | :26:47.
substitute Liam Dickinson was hurt shortly after coming on. Dickinson | :26:48. | :26:53.
will have three -- one of three players disciplined recently, he | :26:53. | :26:59.
damaged his ankle. He was stretchered off. This was a big | :26:59. | :27:02.
blow for the run-in and Southend having used all three substitutes | :27:02. | :27:06.
were down to nine. Desperate defending in the closing stages, | :27:06. | :27:12.
but they kept the visitors at bay. But finished 0-0. Sow them stay | :27:12. | :27:19.
third and maintain a gap between themselves and Crawley. And the | :27:19. | :27:28.
A great performance by Kim. It looked like Crawley were going to | :27:28. | :27:34.
win that. He carried on his form from Saturday. They won 2-0. That | :27:34. | :27:38.
is his second clean sheet. It is a good time to be having that | :27:38. | :27:45.
defensive quality. We hope that injury isn't too serious. He is the | :27:45. | :27:50.
top scorer. He has got 12 goals this season. He did twist his ankle | :27:50. | :27:54.
badly but fingers crossed from Southend's point of view he won't | :27:54. | :27:59.
be out too long. The fixtures, they are not too bad between now and the | :27:59. | :28:03.
end of the season. They have got to Cheltenham, Torquay and Oxford. | :28:03. | :28:08.
They are the best of waiting in the division. It is looking good for | :28:08. | :28:16.
them. -- the best away. They are looking good. I am quietly | :28:16. | :28:22.
confident. And Lowestoft? Could they get promoted? We RFU points of | :28:22. | :28:27.
the top with a few games in hand so fingers crossed we can be there are. | :28:27. | :28:34. |
