the best possible play-off position, hosted a Burnley side long since

out of top six contention but with one of the best away records in the

Championship and aiming to equal a club record eleven wins on the road.

Burnley. Frankly, and I think of this division, there is not much

difference between top and bottom. The consistency matters more than

anything else. Results away from home have been excellent. Only West

Ham have more victories this season so it shows that we play well. They

In your opinion, how will it go today? Form goes out the window

when you get to local derbies. Burnley are looking to create a

record for the number of wins away now so they will go for it. They

have got lots to play for, unlike what people are saying. Blackpool,

they have over achieved, fantastic position, and from where they are,

it would not be a tragedy if they A missile is fire and Blackburn

for Blackpool. Outside the box, it lays it up. The golly cannot keep

it out. 34 blackball! -- the goalkeeper. This is his first touch,

not of sight, and here is Tom Ince. Would have you made it this season?

It has been a good learning curve for players in their first full

season at this level. A lot of them are young lads trying to learn the

lead. A lot of them will be a lot better for this season. We have

certainly been inconsistent, away form has been good but the home

form has been probably the root of our problems. We need to adjust

back into next season. We have reasons to be positive. We will

have a great chance. How do you approach the play-offs

now? With a smile on your face, enjoy it, take each half as it

comes. Try and win the half, that is all you can do it. If someone

scores, put the ball out of the net and not worry about it too much.

The great thing is no one thought we could do it before and probably

people think the same thing, but we might know different. The squad of

players this year is better than he's got that got promotion before,

according to some critics. Can they get to the Premier League? We have

accrued more pints to get into the play-offs them that team did, but I

think it says on the record the bat team won every play-off game. What

I settle for that was my no, I would not.

Well, let's see where that leaves Blackpool in the table with just

one fixture remaining. They're fourth going into Saturday's final

think they are a very dangerous punt, especially now. They are not

conceding goals, they are scoring goals like we just saw. Whoever

plays in the play-offs will be a very dangerous opponent. I would

not be surprised if they went all the way. They have got the expense

of the past. It was interesting that he said they would put the

ball after the net with a smile on their face. He would you fancy if

he were a Blackpool punt? I would like to see Blackpool do it. It is

great Issie them. West Ham are the most to fear. A lot of expectation

on them. The bigger teams... What about Burnley, a disappointing

season? When Burley got promoted to the Premiership,... They have only

got the money for the Premiership. There is no certainty that they

will be able to use that. A lot of teams go up and down. Just because

they want it, does not mean that they will get it guaranteed. David,

you have seen him recently, what do you make of it? He has got some top

players. The biggest thing from Burley's point of view going into

next season is can they keep the top striker. He scored all the

goals. The remit is he is off. that is the case, can may replace

him and who with? Burnley need to be consistent all the way. They

have done great away and this year, they have not done well at home so

I would like to see a couple of senior players in there with the

good of -- good young players they have.

Blackpool's Matt Phillips and Burnley's Jay Rodriguez, both voted

into the Team of the Year at last night's PFA Awards.

last 20 minutes with ten men. John Welsh put Rovers ahead, converting

Lucas Akins' cross after good work in the build up from Zoumana

Bakayogo. The visitors equalised in some style, Anthony Sweeney with a

classy solo run that he ended with a cool finish past Fon Williams.

place in League One next year, they also moved back into the top half

of the table with an excellent win at Notts County. David Worrall got

players but it needs an overhaul. We need the ethos. The team needs

to reflect mind over football, my enthusiasm. I have only seen them

in small doses at the moment and I have to change. What is wrong?

There is not the normal banter about I had been Association -- are

associated with. There is not the desire to win. It is there in

patches, don't get me wrong, it is evident from some players, but I

think because the team has struggled for most of the

seasoned... I have played as big a part as anyone else in it. I would

say it is not need. I had made some mistakes, and possibly I was a bit

thought we would pull away comfortably. Maybe I did not

you turn the players around? Some will have to go, that is for sure.

players in. The hard part is getting them out. But this year

everybody will be looking at the same pool of players. With fleet

spenders in this area -- Fleetwood. I have to sell myself on the club

to potential players. Rochdale had one of the most financial --

successful financial seasons. Did you have any indication you would

get that money? I don't think they are going to risk the long-term

future of the club. Football is littered with paeans to speculate

to accumulate money they haven't got. -- with teams he speculate. It

is unfair, immoral. That is one of the things we were proud of at

Accrington. How similar to the team now is your starting 11 good to be?

Massively different. I want to stress the attitude shown in

training and on the pitch will be different. What will it be like

facing Accrington? My message is be careful what you wish for,

sometimes wishes come true. They might not want to face me next year.

There is me. You finish training, go to a game in the afternoon, go

to a game at night, go around then on leaks. -- none at league matches.

I used to take them to training, gains, everything. I don't know

anybody who managed to do that, a taxi driver as well. Terrible luck

with injuries and a slide down the table saw him sacked in March after

two years in charge. It is hard. Somebody he showed loyalty,

finished the job, I can understand why they did it. But I questing did

because of the fact that I thought I was getting the maximum out of

what we have got. I am constantly looking at the results all the time.

I am just praying and hoping we can find the points necessary. I am

proud of what I did. To least two people very dear to me and keep the

club going and keep it together. The owners had backed the club

tremendously but in my time they had not been a -- they had not been

any inward investment in the club. It is difficult to see how any

manager could have coped. A lot of adversity. It is hard. Sometimes

you drive yourself on. We know from our experience, when you haven't

got a great deal to play, you keep trying to spare yourself on. You

try to get the players to respond. That is something he did really

well. It is difficult to manage -- imagine going through all that then

getting the sack. You can see the emotional stress. No manager should

have to put up with that, great testament to himself he was able to

turn up for work every day and produce a team that could do them

proud. I have been to watch Macclesfield a few times. They have

had a horrendous injuries, double figures really. What about this

business of getting a team minibus? Is that the reality? It makes your

eyes water some of the things we had to do. His pursue one, gives

you the buzz. -- it spurs you on. They always got paid, but they

sometimes got paid late, we had to try and make it, tell them the news

Every day after training he would be practising, honing his skills.

Maybe any half-an-hour, but striking 50, 60 balls in that half-

hour. Our last tour that was the norm. Clubs like Manchester United,

top clubs, top players got their way by working hard. He was also

keen to mix with the other plays. can recall one night, he drove over

from Manchester, in his Armani Kia, went round all pubs in Preston.

Ended up in town, drinking Coke all night but he mingled with everybody

else. He when home because he wasn't drinking. North End had

hoped to keep him for longer. After a month he was recalled to Old

Trafford. We would have sold the ground to Keepin if we could

because he was becoming better and better, -- to keep him. Everybody

asked who the best play you have played against, nice to be able to

drop his name and that you have played with him. The best players,
