you walk in the door and you think, I'm going to wave a magic wand on

this, you are a fall. Why TV times are about to get hard. How our

clubs will be coping with new deals. And it is 11 out of 11, Preston and

their money take their turn at the most fun quiz. With me in the

studio, a man hoping to be back in the Premeir League next season,

Blackpool midfielder Keith Southern. And a former manager of Burnley,

Bury and Blackpool too. Welcome to Stan Ternent.

Now, if you believe everything you read in the papers, all isn't well

at Preston North End, both on and off the pitch. As well as reports

of fall outs with his players, manager Graham Westley had overseen

just two victories going into the weekend. On this programme a few

weeks ago, he used the phrase short term pain for long term gain, but

is that pain finally starting to wane? We sent along the former

Oldham striker Andy Ritchie along Coming to Deepdale can't have been

much fun at times this season. But with any lingering relegation

worries all but gone - the fans are hopeful about the future, under

manager Graham Westley. Every fan wants success. If he brings it, I'm

happy with that. They needed a kick up the backside, which is what they

have been given. I hope that it will go right in the end. He talks

a good talk so we are optimistic. We are not quite sure what is going

to happen. We need to give him time. But you optimistic? Yes.

I was hoping to see my friends down there, we keep saying to keep the

faith. Very optimistic for the end of the season, and next season

particularly. I will bring you my season ticket.

But the stats don't lie, and under Graham Westley results have been

fairly underwhelming. Play off chasers Huddersfield promised to be

one of the new era's biggest tests the League's top scorer Jordan

Rhodes coming close on a few occasions, though it wasn't all one

way traffic, as Preston's Chris It is a work-in-progress at Preston.

They have hit the post and for me, they will probably finish that bit

when eight minutes in, the impressive Danny mayor created a

chance for Chris Robertson, and he gave the home side the lead. And

from here Preston's confidence grew and grew and they looked anything

half-time talk seemed to have work. Let's see if they can capitalise on

think the crowd were behind you today. I think this crowd is

passionate about winning football. In my short time here, I have seen

that if you're not doing those things, as a manager he will get it

in the neck. You would not want to be at a club where there was no

passion for victory. If you want to be at a club that has everything it

takes to be successful, you have to take the bad times with the good.

If you are someone who gets off on the good times and cannot take on

the chin when you deserve it, you should not be at a club of this ilk.

Big win for Preston North End. Short-term pain, long-term gain,

fans cannot get over that, but is it necessary sometimes?

expectation at Preston is high. They have a fantastic stadium and

now they need the team. Over the past few years, Darren Ferguson, it

has been a difficult place. When I was at Burnley before, we had some

good battles and they had a good side. How difficult is it going

into a dressing room like that? There are so many different

personalities and there is no guarantee they will go with you.

Graham Westley wanted to do things his way. He plays a certain style

of football. You need the players to buy into that, sometimes they do

and sometimes they don't. If they don't, you have to bring your own

players in and it takes time. As I said earlier, the expectation level

is great. Blackpool have done fantastically well. Preston have

had to watch over the last few seasons. Keith, what is a light

from the player's perspective when a new manager comes in? Not all of

you will like each other. You have the trepidation of will they like

me, will they not like me? Is like the first day of school when you're

nervous and you do not know what to expect. You have to impress the

manager. Briefly, when you walk in as a manager, did you feel

stressed? Not really. You get used to wait after a while. You just do

what you do, you going to the training ground, get the players on

your side, show them what you want. Invariably they buy into it, but it

takes time. The most difficult commodity in football to get as a

manager is time. It is certainly all about the next season for

Graham Westley. Now sometimes it feels as if you need a maths degree

at this time of the season. Predicting promotion or relegation

for your team can get ridiculous! For Rochdale on Saturday, they

needed a win, along with losses elsewhere, to stave off the drop.

Sarah Mulkerrins was at Spotland on Saturday to see where things stood

for the club come five o'clock. New beginnings at Spotland in

January. Struggling to find a successor to Keith Hill, Rochdale

turned to John Coleman. A convincing win over rivals Bury,

but since then, they've struggled but since then, they've struggled

of relegation. Only a win against Exeter and losses for Leyton Orient

and Walsall would keep them from the drop. Even the most loyal fans

couldn't muster up some hope. Probably going to go back to lead

Rochdale's relegation story was all going to script. Exeter settled

early. Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro gave away a penalty, Daniel Nardiello

slotted it home. A dominant first half from the visitors carried

through to the second. Another goal for Exeter, Liam Sercombe the

scorer this half. 11 minutes remaining and the drop for Dale was

though, as he broke on the left and pegged one back. Two minutes later

Joe Thompson levelled the game. Suddenly with nine minutes to go

the fans started to believe. Take a bow Jason Kennedy, with three

comeback. It was this weekend two years ago that the club won

promotion and they are not giving it up. It is not over till it's

over. Whatever happens, we have given our all. We still will not

stop trying to win the last two games, all last three if we can win

next weekend. There has been a lot of strange things happening in

football and people have been written off. Hopefully we can

possibly prove a few people are wrong.

We can't write Rochdale off. They are still fighting. The likelihood

is they will go down, but if anyone can come back surely it is then?

Certainly the level below based on now, it was a difficult situation

to have gone, to have left Accrington. He has not lost that

many matches since he has been there. He has drawn too many times

when he could have had a win here and there. But it will be difficult

for him. Yes. Since he has left, he has had 19 points out of 48. How do

you approach it as a player, Keith? I think you look at the next game,

take it from game to game. We have been down there all season,

scrapping for their lives. These things take time and I think even

if they do go down, he will get them fired up and they will come

Oldham away to one of Rochdale's relegation rivals.

Let's start with something to shout about for Oldham after five

them ahead away to Wycombe but after the home side hit back it

looked like being another of those days for Paul Dickov's side. Stuart

Beavon equalised for the home side before Joel Grant gave them the

lead with 12 minutes to go. It looked like it would be all over

for The Latics when they conceded a penalty four minutes later but

Grant Basey's miss proved to be just the tonic the visitors needed.

Robbie Simpson went down under a challenge from Marvin McCoy and

stepped up to equalise with just seconds of normal time remaining.

After 13 games without a win it's now three wins in four games for

improving Bury. Mike Grella displayed fine finishing to score

the only goal against Bournemouth at Gigg Lane after just ten minutes.

Just like they did after defeat against Bury, Tranmere bounced back

from Monday's reverse at MK Dons with a good win. Andy Robinson

picked himself up after being fouled to score a stylish winner at

bottom half, though, with North End 14th, Bury 15th and Oldham 18th.

Rochdale are still alive but needing the football version of

Over the last 20 years TV money has become an absolutely fundamental

source of income for Football clubs. But from next season a new TV deal

comes in, which will be worth much less money for sides in the

Championship and Leagues One and Two. There are concerns it could

increase the financial gap between the Premier League and Football

League, and mean some clubs facing a worrying shortfall in revenue.

A new TV deal will have a significant impact on the football

club in financial terms. It is tough out there. As long as you

play within the rules, the chances are that the clubs will survive.

The new deal that will see Sky TV monopolise Football League coverage

while the BBC decides whether to continue to show its highlights

programme. The deal is worth roughly 20 % less money than the

previous one, meaning �65 billion divisible between 72 clubs, but the

way it is divided is by no means equal three divisions.

Around 80 % of the money goes to clubs in the championships, meaning

every team will get to �0.1 million. In League One, while the money is

less, with each one standing to get around �325,000. Meanwhile lead to

will have just 8% of the overall TV money, which equates to �216,000

for each club. It could be argued that the deal is

highly favourable to championship sides, but Burnley considerate far

from ideal. It also coincides with the reduction in their so-called

parachute payments that followed Premier League relegation. It is a

double whammy far ours. We are getting a less of a deal, but there

are solidarity payments we are getting. With the new TV deal they

did last time, it was 84 years solidarity payment instead of a

two-year one. -- a four year payment. Obviously it puts a dent

were only allowed to spend a percentage of your overhead on

players. The irony is that televised football in general is

damaging for a Football League clubs, especially unhelpful in that

pubs can show live Premier League matches on foreign TV channels.

a Saturday afternoon. If people can go into a local pub and watch their

team, then that is going to be detrimental to clubs like ourselves.

While clubs have been preparing for their changes in advance they have

three seasons to live with them until the new deal runs its course.

Cheshire derby, it took place at Macclesfield's Moss Rose on

Saturday. The Silkmen, fighting for their Football League lives against

a Crewe side pushing hard for the this one, It was the hosts who

edged ahead after Ross Draper was fouled by Harry Davis in the box.

Lewis Chalmers showed the necessary coolness to give his side a first

half lead. But what you don't need when you're scrapping for your very

Football League existence is to come up against Nick Powell. It was

Crewe's coveted 18-year-old who turned the game around either side

of half time, finishing crisply for the equaliser and dancing through

the home defence to put his side ahead. But Macclesfield, rock

bottom of League Two at kick-off, showed true spirit to earn a point

with ten minutes to go. Former Alex striker Colin Daniel with a fine

finish, to leave his side three points from safety with three to

play. Accrington can most probably expect

a summer rebuilding under Paul Cook, who won't have seen much to please

him at Cheltenham. Marlon Pack's free kick beat Lee Nicholls at his

near post to make it 3-0. Even though Bobby Grant scored a Stanley

consolation with 14 minutes to go, The Robins restored their three

goal lead when Nicholls spilled Summerfield's shot enabling Kaid

Mohammed to score. No goals at The Globe Arena, but Morecambe will

feel they had the edge over Port Vale. Their best chance fell to the

head of Jack Redshaw, who might have done better from Isaac Reid's

cross. Well the battle for that all-

important seventh spot looks like going down to the wire in League

Two. Goal difference is all that separates Oxford and Crewe, who

play Cheltenham and Torquay in their next two games before ending

the campaign at home to Aldershot. Oxford are at Plymouth, host

Southend and visit Port Vale. Into the bottom half, it's looking like

a battle between Hereford, Barnet Into the Championship now and more

dropped home points for Burnley. Like so many times before this

season, they took the lead against lowly Coventry at Turf Moor when

Charlie Austin headed home a pinpoint cross from Ross Wallace.

But they let the advantage slip after the break when ex-Rochdale

striker Clive Platt nodded an equaliser past Lee Grant.

They have dropped a lot of points at home this season, Burnley. You'd

been there will be disappointed? is the first season for Eddie, so I

think they have done extremely well away from home. Make the play-offs?

I have seen two or three occasions this occasion, I feared there are

strong enough. Keith, we are talking about dropping 37 points at

home. They have had a remarkable away record. You played early sin,

what are your worries? We played them before Christmas. You say they

have a poor home record but I like them and I think they have got some

good players. They should have may be threatened the play-offs and

little more than they have done. Your rate Turley Austin, don't you?

I like Rodrigues as well. I think they've destroyed us in this guide

game before Christmas -- BSkyB and before Christmas.

-- and the Sky game. Onto Blackpool and a goalless draw

against Nottingham Forest. Matt Gilks kept The Seasiders in the

Gilks kept The Seasiders in the game early on but they also had

good chances to win it. Tom Ince saw his back-post header saved

before Gary Taylor Fletcher also came close, shooting across goal

when well placed. Still not a bad point against a Forest side

starting to show a little bit of Three games to go, you are missing

too. What are the chances? It is superb. We are in there fighting.

We have got an excellent opportunity to make a little bit

more history, which we have done over the last couple of years. We

are in by two points, it is in our hands, two home games coming up and

it is all to play for. Two wins would probably do it. How does the

squat compare Laak to last time? think it is stronger now. I am not

sure it was probably better in 2010, for we have a bigger and more

talented squad. Good times ahead, really. We can have a look at the

threatening, Blackpool are in form at the minute? Blackpool got two

home games and the way holt play, You need to be the form team going

into the play-offs. They have experience and I can't see them.

You have Leeds, burly and Millwall to come. What is Holloway sent to

the players? He is trying to keep our feet on the ground. We have had

a remarkable run. This year, we have got a little bit more pressure

on us because we hold the all important player spot. It is trying
