Hello, and welcome to Snooker Extra, extended highlights of the

:00:00.:00:38.

match between Neal Robertson and Judd Trump. Robinson, the

:00:39.:00:44.

Australian, taking on Judd Trump, his first quarter-final since 2013.

:00:45.:00:50.

Robertson is the man to beat here at Alexandra Palace, having won

:00:51.:00:53.

Champion of champions at the UK championship in New York in

:00:54.:00:54.

December. These two players have been regular

:00:55.:01:16.

features on our major tournaments, in the final stages, so you would

:01:17.:01:22.

expect them to be experienced enough to get off to a good start. And not

:01:23.:01:27.

to be overawed by the occasion of the Masters. Yes, the new breed, a

:01:28.:01:39.

packed house, great atmosphere. Great potters, you will see some

:01:40.:01:43.

outstanding shots played today. Just plain to contain, not catching

:01:44.:01:58.

it quite right, though. He may have left a pot for Judd, just sticking

:01:59.:02:02.

out of the main cluster. Sometimes at this level, those half

:02:03.:02:32.

chances will make the difference between winning and losing the

:02:33.:02:33.

frame. Not easy for Neal Robertson to play

:02:34.:03:03.

this loose red at the bottom of the table, and any path back to the top

:03:04.:03:08.

of the table could collide with brown or green. That bread does pot

:03:09.:03:15.

into the middle pocket, even at an acute angle, so... -- red. Where

:03:16.:03:25.

Robertson has left that, he is hoping that if Judd does get it he

:03:26.:03:35.

can't get a colour. Somebody's earpiece is quite loud, can you

:03:36.:03:38.

check them and turned them down, please? It is a decent shot for an

:03:39.:03:47.

opportunity at this red. It would have been better if he had got it

:03:48.:03:48.

tight on the cushion. He played that pretty well, a

:03:49.:04:15.

surprising choice of shot from Neil.

:04:16.:04:31.

Where has the cue ball gone? It is tough to get it in their past the

:04:32.:04:45.

yellow -- there. It just came off the first caution, he would think

:04:46.:04:49.

the yellow would be blocking the path.

:04:50.:05:13.

I don't think you can play it with just the tracer sized to get to the

:05:14.:05:30.

bottom. You can see that trademark alignment of Judd Trump, it looked

:05:31.:05:34.

like he was aiming to miss the red to the top caution, then readjusted

:05:35.:05:42.

and missed it to the side. A tough way to play, but it works for him.

:05:43.:05:53.

Keep your eyes on how straight cueing Neil Robertson's is. That is

:05:54.:06:07.

an easier way to play. I don't think anyone pushes it through quite as

:06:08.:06:12.

straight as Neil. That is why he is one of the best potters in the game.

:06:13.:06:18.

A bit careless from Judd, and I think that might just be the slight

:06:19.:06:23.

difference between the two players. If it comes to a tactical battle,

:06:24.:06:27.

which I don't expect it to, but you slightly favour Neil Robertson. If

:06:28.:06:33.

you are going to look at longevity within the game, I would say that

:06:34.:06:39.

Neil Robertson's straight cueing would hold him in better stead.

:06:40.:06:56.

Judd did come into the studio after his first match, saying he wasn't

:06:57.:07:03.

particularly confident at the moment.

:07:04.:07:12.

Yes, it has been a long time between drinks, in regards to winning

:07:13.:07:22.

events. He has taken a bit of a riskier. Yes, this looks at the

:07:23.:07:30.

gift. I'm not sure what he was playing, surely not that.

:07:31.:08:33.

Just having a look, he has already looked past this red, and probably

:08:34.:08:43.

looking through for the black. That is the sort of angle he needs on the

:08:44.:08:47.

black, but he may be playing for the pink. He decided to go back for the

:08:48.:08:59.

blue, but to avoid that second read, I don't know how he could possibly

:09:00.:09:02.

have got the right side of the blue. No, it was tough but he was

:09:03.:09:06.

loath to tie up the pink. He would have liked the cue ball to

:09:07.:09:35.

come off that second caution a bit wider -- cushion. That wasn't very

:09:36.:10:03.

straight, even that time. That little piece you put on the end of

:10:04.:10:09.

the cue is not massive, it changes to throw off the shot and the

:10:10.:10:16.

dynamic of the cue. Nicely played, perfect on the black.

:10:17.:10:26.

A decent chance, this. You don't want the cue ball to get too close

:10:27.:10:44.

to the cushion. It was an easy black, so he didn't

:10:45.:11:09.

risk too much for the positional side of things. He was out of

:11:10.:11:15.

position enough that it was missable. A few mistakes to start

:11:16.:11:26.

off this all-important match, with a place in the semifinals at stake.

:11:27.:11:33.

That is not the greatest shot, a bit of side spin has it ending up on the

:11:34.:11:35.

top cushion. Well, this is a surprise. I'm not

:11:36.:12:05.

sure that was totally his fault. A puzzled look on his face, that is

:12:06.:12:11.

for certain. It is funny, you expect a match, and I suppose these two

:12:12.:12:17.

came out expecting it to be a bombardment, but you never know what

:12:18.:12:20.

is going to happen on a snooker table. As we say, no two frames

:12:21.:12:30.

alike. Both players a little bit tight in the arm, a big match, the

:12:31.:12:42.

respect for each other's stability. He struck that well. -- ability. He

:12:43.:12:54.

just got a nice angle on the blue. He would have liked more. He hasn't

:12:55.:13:02.

got many opportunities to go into the pack well, and that will be a

:13:03.:13:08.

risk coming in from outside, but he has got a good result. He just got

:13:09.:13:27.

enough pace on the cue ball. Can he drop the blue in? He can do it

:13:28.:13:41.

comfortably. He has already spurned one decent opportunity, can he make

:13:42.:14:10.

the most of this one? He is starting to get the cue through a lot better

:14:11.:14:12.

now. On the right side of the blue this

:14:13.:14:20.

time. . He is deciding whether that was a

:14:21.:14:41.

good idea, but... If he had screwed back he might have left a possibly

:14:42.:14:46.

easier one. As he is left-handed, it makes this shot a lot easier.

:14:47.:15:01.

He was only a fraction away from snickering himself kind the blue. --

:15:02.:15:15.

snookering. He may have settled down into what could be an all-important

:15:16.:15:19.

first frame. Especially as both players looked a bit tense.

:15:20.:15:37.

This red will put him in front. Bless you! Somebody sneezed just on

:15:38.:16:01.

the shot. It didn't put him off, as it shouldn't do. Neil Robertson...

:16:02.:16:13.

It is usually a costly thing to do at this level. He just seems to be

:16:14.:16:22.

getting the cue through nice and smooth now, Judd Trump. Two snookers

:16:23.:16:33.

need it. Neil Robertson will carry on. A relatively nice area between

:16:34.:16:45.

black and pink at some stage, not sure he could get it from this

:16:46.:16:50.

shot, but he would have to be tight behind one of them. My mistake, it

:16:51.:17:06.

is three 4 point snookers required. More likely to need free ball.

:17:07.:17:25.

A great shot. That object ball was so close to the cushion that he

:17:26.:17:41.

realised that it would check with some top spin, and that is what it

:17:42.:17:49.

did. Judd has to be careful he doesn't leave a free ball. Good hit!

:17:50.:17:55.

Very good hit! Neil Robertson won't be putting this

:17:56.:18:05.

red. Has he got the double? He has! That

:18:06.:18:43.

is the end of any thought of Neil Robertson getting the snooker now.

:18:44.:18:46.

He won't be coming back to the table in this first frame. A bit of Judd

:18:47.:18:50.

Trump's naughty snooker. The first couple of shots he played,

:18:51.:19:00.

I was thinking, maybe he is not quite on it today. But Neil

:19:01.:19:07.

Robertson missed the black off the spot and it seems to have

:19:08.:19:10.

reinvigorated him. I think that can happen, you can walk out and play a

:19:11.:19:16.

few rotten shots and feel rubbish, and then your opponent lets you off

:19:17.:19:21.

the hook and you get a few nice starters under your belt, and the

:19:22.:19:22.

next minute you are worldbeater. He is certainly entertaining. Seven

:19:23.:19:48.

cushion positional shot, that one. A great start, but when Neil Robertson

:19:49.:19:53.

missed the black off the spot it seems to have inspired him. And he

:19:54.:19:55.

wins the first frame, 1-0. A decent break off shot from Neil

:19:56.:20:27.

Robertson. It is one of those packs with loose threads on either side of

:20:28.:20:32.

it, it is not straightforward to just come off the side cushion and

:20:33.:21:02.

nestle into them -- reds. A bit of speculative play from Judd Trump. He

:21:03.:21:07.

will be quite happy with that first attempt, it is quite close.

:21:08.:21:10.

Expecting to readjust for the second one. The one thing you are wary of,

:21:11.:21:22.

particularly on the first part, is catching it too thick. He couldn't

:21:23.:21:32.

have played that better. Well played.

:21:33.:21:51.

Much too thick and very fortunate. Very lucky not to leave a red out.

:21:52.:22:40.

A bit short of pace, but the yellow has come in very handy. Again, Judd

:22:41.:22:55.

snookered on all red. Not too much of a problem to come off the side

:22:56.:23:14.

cushion. Touching ball. Neil Robertson could risk trying to get

:23:15.:23:18.

tight behind the yellow, that it will still be hard to force an

:23:19.:23:27.

opening. Arguably, he can play a shot that gets Judd to open a few

:23:28.:23:37.

red. He could swerve around the yellow to catch the side of the

:23:38.:23:41.

pack, but it is a tough judgement shot. You could catch it too thick.

:23:42.:23:47.

He is going up and down. That is risky as well, so well played.

:23:48.:23:53.

That was a terrific shot. To judge it so well coming off a cushion,

:23:54.:24:04.

excellent. This red will be pottable to the

:24:05.:24:20.

left corner. Judd with his hand on the table can manoeuvre the cue

:24:21.:24:40.

ball. Perfect. From such a thin cut to actually get a bit of screw back

:24:41.:24:43.

on there to hold the cue ball was superb. One of the strengths of Judd

:24:44.:24:53.

Trump's game. He gets a lot of action with the cue ball.

:24:54.:25:29.

Coming down for the black. I can only assume that that red is only

:25:30.:25:36.

above the black and will go into this opposite corner here. That is

:25:37.:25:46.

very handy for Judd, of course, now he has the black available to both

:25:47.:25:56.

corners. This is an excellent opportunity. You always need a bit

:25:57.:26:11.

of luck when you go through them, looking at his body language...

:26:12.:26:50.

Is no need to go into the reds again from that shot, there was a bit of

:26:51.:26:54.

danger involved in that. As Steve said, he didn't really need

:26:55.:27:16.

to have to play any more, he is on this red, but he got that one red,

:27:17.:27:31.

which cleared the par-4 another. -- path for another. This is a great

:27:32.:27:37.

opportunity, there is no doubt about that. We know Judd is not frightened

:27:38.:27:48.

of winning. It would be an interesting scenario to have the

:27:49.:28:01.

player in form. Somewhere down the line, the wheels have got to fall

:28:02.:28:15.

off. I suggest he has to get his big game going. Here certainly capable

:28:16.:28:24.

of that. I don't think he will get much opportunity to do anything more

:28:25.:28:39.

in this frame. The red and black, that is all that is needed. It is

:28:40.:28:59.

hard to believe, with someone like Judd Trump, big scorer.

:29:00.:29:29.

We would be amazed if he didn't make the century here. This has been

:29:30.:29:42.

excellent play from Judd. He was in trouble a couple of times, played

:29:43.:29:45.

two excellent escapes. He is now free of that. Here's just

:29:46.:30:11.

having a look at the scoreboard. The highest break at the moment is held

:30:12.:30:20.

by Mark Allen. He can better that. If he gets the blue he can only

:30:21.:30:26.

equalled the highest break. That's why he is playing the black. He is

:30:27.:30:32.

trying to beat the 137, not bothered about the 100. He's got it, you

:30:33.:30:43.

know! He will need another good shot on this red.

:30:44.:30:56.

What a pity. It kept Neil Robertson in his seat of most about frame.

:30:57.:31:23.

There is the trophy that one of these players will be hoping to get

:31:24.:31:33.

their hands on. Neil Robertson has already lifted it once, Judd Trump

:31:34.:31:35.

yet to win a Masters. He caught that much too thick and

:31:36.:31:54.

that is why the cueball has not come back to the other half of the table

:31:55.:31:58.

so a nice easy starter for Neil Robertson, here.

:31:59.:32:10.

LUX got a bit tied up during that shot. -- black.

:32:11.:32:26.

Read to be right of the black. -- read. He could get the blackout

:32:27.:32:38.

straightaway if he gets right on the read.

:32:39.:32:46.

Great shot to get the correct side of the blue.

:32:47.:33:30.

Nicely on this red. Available spot in both corners. We ask what the

:33:31.:33:41.

response from Neil Robertson is going to be. It looks like a

:33:42.:33:45.

positive one. Didn't waste much time in getting

:33:46.:33:51.

that black back into open play. Didn't like to contact there. -- the

:33:52.:34:25.

contact. He could play to leave himself low on that. Depends whether

:34:26.:34:28.

he can hold for it. I think he feels that there is a lot

:34:29.:34:43.

of chance of losing the cueball on the shot.

:34:44.:34:52.

That's why he didn't hit it with too much pace. Easy on the read. That is

:34:53.:34:57.

what he has played for. -- red. Have to play with a trace of

:34:58.:35:08.

right-hand side, just turn it right over.

:35:09.:35:20.

I'm not sure he's happy with it. He's going for it.

:35:21.:35:30.

He made that with side spin. See where the cueball hit the read it

:35:31.:35:46.

wasn't going to the pocket at the right-hand side has been flicked,

:35:47.:35:49.

the red left. Great judgement there. Not a good shot there. Absolutely

:35:50.:36:14.

perfect on the read. -- red. Lining up the pink as the ball took try to

:36:15.:36:17.

line up the reds here. If he is going to play this with any

:36:18.:36:37.

pace, which is got to, he's got to be pretty accurate with the pink.

:36:38.:36:45.

And he was full of top absolutely perfect. He's finished on a red to

:36:46.:36:56.

the left corner. He could not have played it any better. Even the pink

:36:57.:37:00.

doesn't have brilliant queuing. I would be amazed now if we're not

:37:01.:37:14.

going into that midsession interval 2-2.

:37:15.:37:21.

This is so impressive from 2-0 down. And back against the third frame.

:37:22.:38:23.

59 point the lead. There's something about the availability of those to

:38:24.:38:33.

read that are very close together. -- reds. If it doesn't go to the

:38:34.:38:42.

right corner than he may have to be thinking, well, I don't get does. So

:38:43.:38:47.

he's got to be thinking of potting this red and getting a nice angle on

:38:48.:38:51.

the colour to get the red's into play. He needs another red, one into

:38:52.:38:57.

the middle. Maybe. Looks to have a decent angle on the

:38:58.:39:09.

blacks to get relatively close to the read into the left middle,

:39:10.:39:11.

should that be the choice. That is what he has played. Having a

:39:12.:39:25.

look at his body language I think he is happy with the results. This red

:39:26.:39:30.

will put in 68 points in front which is just 67 remaining.

:39:31.:39:48.

Definitely puts those all square. Jed Trump off to a flyer. Race 282-0

:39:49.:40:00.

lead. He knew, and I suppose we all knew that Neil Robertson, the way he

:40:01.:40:04.

has been playing this season, was going

:40:05.:40:08.

knew that Neil Robertson, the way he has been playing this season, was to

:40:09.:40:10.

start firing on all cylinders sooner or later. So, both players will go

:40:11.:40:18.

into the fixed interval with good zero to take from these frames. --

:40:19.:40:22.

thoughts. I suppose that Judd would be the

:40:23.:40:39.

more disappointed having held the lead. And perhaps Neil Robertson

:40:40.:40:48.

feeling like he's Superman, like he's never going to be taken apart,

:40:49.:40:55.

that he has the ability in all departments of the game from any

:40:56.:40:58.

position. It is always a nice feeling. Well, we keep saying he has

:40:59.:41:06.

been the man of the season so far, the champion of the champions, the

:41:07.:41:10.

UK championship. He is such a beautiful cueist. A good all round

:41:11.:41:21.

game, as he has proved, to claw his way back into this match.

:41:22.:41:31.

Still a chance of a century. We have already seen one in the second frame

:41:32.:41:41.

from Judd Trump. And a chance of a big break here. If he pops the blue

:41:42.:41:50.

there is a possible 140 on. As I said earlier, the highest break at

:41:51.:41:58.

the moment is held by Mark Allen. 137.

:41:59.:42:08.

Not often these days the high break is, by the end of the tournament,

:42:09.:42:22.

less than 140. But, obviously less matches and a Masters than most. --

:42:23.:42:26.

in the Masters. That was the 15 of the tournament.

:42:27.:42:45.

The black and the six remaining colours for a 139.

:42:46.:43:20.

Stephen Hendry in the studio just before this frame set meal at the

:43:21.:43:27.

moment, as it stands, he is strutting around the table. He is

:43:28.:43:31.

strutting around it now. This has been a marvellous break. He has not

:43:32.:43:38.

put a foot wrong. This black and the high break prize is ?10,000. And

:43:39.:43:54.

Neil Robertson absolutely splendid. Neil Robertson, nothing scrappy

:43:55.:44:02.

about that one. Highest break of the tournament.

:44:03.:44:08.

Judd Trump gets the fifth frame under way. No more intervals. Play

:44:09.:44:17.

to a finish now. Best of 11, first to six frames.

:44:18.:44:28.

It looks like it will stop short of the ball line.

:44:29.:44:43.

So, an early chance as Judd Trump decides to Phil Hughes glassful of

:44:44.:44:52.

water. He might have a chance to drink quite a bit of it. -- Phil

:44:53.:44:54.

Hughes glass full of No one would find that a surprising

:44:55.:45:39.

choice of shot. Obviously didn't want to come off the main bunch of

:45:40.:45:44.

red and not bring breadth into play. -- reds. All that considered,

:45:45.:45:55.

that is not the best shot from Judd Trump. OK, maybe he couldn't have

:45:56.:46:01.

got behind the yellow but he could have had his cueball tight to the

:46:02.:46:02.

cushion. Well, that shot was interesting

:46:03.:46:17.

inasmuch as he decided once again to not opened the pack and risk leaving

:46:18.:46:22.

Judd and easy starter. Terrific. As it was he called it bar

:46:23.:46:44.

too thin. You think it's the gameplan? Keep the balls tight

:46:45.:46:53.

against Judd? As you say he was just intent on playing a thin safety so

:46:54.:47:04.

he didn't bring red anys into play. He is playing absolutely perfect. He

:47:05.:47:12.

just needs to rely on the cueball control. They are their parade

:47:13.:47:25.

match-winning contribution. -- there for. Nicely on the blue.

:47:26.:47:44.

It's a wonderful shot to split the pack up. It's got so much backspin

:47:45.:47:50.

on the cue ball red that it powered its way back to thes and open up

:47:51.:48:04.

beautifully. -- reds. Didn't really hit them that hard but got so much

:48:05.:48:09.

backspin on them. He'll be a little bit disappointed with that.

:48:10.:48:17.

Red He should have been straight on that and played for the black. You

:48:18.:48:25.

can lose control of it. And in many ways yellow and green up

:48:26.:48:36.

better suited to guaranteeing to get black up the table in the blue

:48:37.:48:39.

sometimes. -- back. As we were saying it was such a good

:48:40.:49:15.

pack greater that he doesn't have to play any more cannons. Just keep

:49:16.:49:21.

close control with the cueball. And frame at his mercy.

:49:22.:49:57.

You wouldn't expect him to miss this. It all depends really weather

:49:58.:50:04.

is just a natural tour drop it in on the back but it looks like he's

:50:05.:50:12.

going back up for the blue again. Just about got the angle require it.

:50:13.:50:26.

Red and a colour require it. 57 ahead, 67 remaining.

:50:27.:50:36.

His heart was in his mouth for a second day. It was on to the jaw.

:50:37.:50:44.

That is why he stayed down. Just enough of the pocket to go in. And

:50:45.:50:54.

that black, 65 ahead now, 59 remaining.

:50:55.:51:00.

But he would love to pot this and keep Neil Robertson in his chair.

:51:01.:51:12.

Neil Robertson a little bit negative with a couple of safety shots early

:51:13.:51:22.

on in this frame. Whether it was a gameplan, just to keep the balls

:51:23.:51:29.

tight. We saw Judd Trump and his cue power. He opened the reds up

:51:30.:51:42.

beautifully. Good standard. A third century of the match. Yes, it is

:51:43.:51:48.

turning into a cracking match. That was after a very nervous opening

:51:49.:51:54.

frame. No chance of the highest break of the tournament with this

:51:55.:51:59.

break, so expect something naughty, John. Especially with that chat with

:52:00.:52:07.

Ken Doherty. Let's see the 101st. Well played. Very well played. A

:52:08.:52:17.

terrific opening red, you know, he was tight under the cushion.

:52:18.:52:29.

I don't think they'd be naughty on the screen, could start with the

:52:30.:52:40.

brown, I feel. -- green. I think if you played it too hard you wouldn't

:52:41.:52:43.

get position on the brown so drop agreeing in and get nicely on the

:52:44.:52:50.

brown. -- the green in. It looks like he is playing for the brown in

:52:51.:52:53.

the middle. This is where the naughtiness begins.

:52:54.:53:07.

He did what was necessary. Neil Robertson, I don't know about his

:53:08.:53:14.

chances, but he didn't ruined that frame and that was an excellent one

:53:15.:53:19.

from Judd Trump. He is in the lead again.

:53:20.:53:37.

That was an excellent safety shot. This time, Judd, who has a chance,

:53:38.:53:52.

perhaps he doesn't... I thought he had a chance of playing eight in one

:53:53.:53:58.

on to the black. He won't want to be disturbing the black from this

:53:59.:54:04.

position. Just a bit wary. There is a gap between the yellow and green

:54:05.:54:11.

to play this red. He will be sending it toward the right corner. If he

:54:12.:54:14.

tries to play safe up the one tied to the top cushion, if

:54:15.:54:18.

tries to play safe up the one tied to the top cushion, you catch these

:54:19.:54:23.

too thick. Tremendous. Well played. He's giving this plenty of ORT. He

:54:24.:55:34.

can get through to this red that is at the top of the cushion. The

:55:35.:55:49.

cueball goes nowhere. There is my old mate.

:55:50.:55:56.

Took a long time to decide on the shot and messed it up completely.

:55:57.:56:29.

That's putting it mildly. Opened the black up again. He obviously wasn't

:56:30.:56:39.

playing to pot. He needed the lot then than he did. -- needed it a lot

:56:40.:56:45.

then. Particularly when you're playing bit

:56:46.:56:54.

delicate little screws you've got to be careful on the superfine cloth

:56:55.:57:00.

that the cueball doesn't just slide away. I think there is a gap, that

:57:01.:57:08.

is what you be playing for. For the blue. Either blue or pink, he won't

:57:09.:57:15.

want to risk trying to play for the black.

:57:16.:57:19.

Pink a better choice than the blue. Could have gone funny on the blue.

:57:20.:57:45.

He has played that well. Obviously that had been straight he could have

:57:46.:57:53.

played for the red that's up and left of the pink. One of the more

:57:54.:57:59.

depth knowledge voter this corner and that will give him a good

:58:00.:58:05.

position on the black. Has he gone far enough? Yes. He is just about OK

:58:06.:58:12.

. For a split-2nd bed Neil Robertson

:58:13.:58:28.

would have been hoping by Judd Trump 's body movement that he got on it.

:58:29.:58:54.

winning line in this play, now. Neil Robertson came back in good fashion

:58:55.:58:55.

in the first few frames. It is Judd Trump who really has been

:58:56.:59:08.

winning their safety exchanges, which has turned this round

:59:09.:59:12.

slightly. It looks like Judd is going to win another two frames in a

:59:13.:59:14.

row. It wasn't so much the phone ring it

:59:15.:59:25.

was just such a bad ring tone. A nice angle on the black now. Play

:59:26.:00:11.

the runthrough. Disturbed these ones on the top cushion. He judged it to

:00:12.:00:15.

perfection. Already had three century breaks in

:00:16.:00:29.

the first five frames. The likelihood is we could see a fourth

:00:30.:00:33.

one here. The standard just gets higher and higher.

:00:34.:00:48.

I'd say it's an absolutely nailed on century.

:00:49.:00:56.

He has played the cannon and missed it. And got.

:00:57.:01:37.

May have to find the gap. He has taken his eye off it! It didn't

:01:38.:01:45.

really matter, no century, but another frame for Judd Trump. Once

:01:46.:02:02.

again, two frames in front. A little grimace as he played that, because

:02:03.:02:08.

it seems every time he plays off he leaves this pot for the corner. He

:02:09.:02:10.

has done it again. It is such a dangerous thing to do,

:02:11.:02:21.

with a potter of Neil Robertson's quality. With the black available

:02:22.:02:28.

into both corners, it is a decent chance. If you remember, in the

:02:29.:02:36.

frame after the midsession, he played the yellow, over screwed it,

:02:37.:02:43.

and went out of position. I think the positional side of this shot is

:02:44.:02:44.

a bit easier than it was. Just under screwed that a little

:02:45.:03:44.

bit. He would have liked to have been little bit straighter. The

:03:45.:03:49.

thing is, if he is straighter, he has more control of the cue ball. He

:03:50.:03:55.

has gone into it too much, not a great angle on the blue, it would be

:03:56.:03:59.

easier if he could play the blue. If he was right-handed the green would

:04:00.:04:03.

be the ball to play. He has run out of position. A good shot needed to

:04:04.:04:09.

keep this going. He has struck that beautifully. Now,

:04:10.:04:36.

back in position. Importing this red -- in potting, he

:04:37.:05:15.

should be able to open up some more into play. It looks like he has

:05:16.:05:21.

chosen the black, trusting to luck a bit, but I think he will settle for

:05:22.:05:30.

that. It was a very aggressive way of going about it. Just running

:05:31.:05:38.

through the black into the left corner, it wouldn't have been

:05:39.:05:44.

guaranteed. A fair bit of pressure on this black. Very nice.

:05:45.:06:13.

Is he on this red? Giving it the one eye.

:06:14.:06:43.

I sit at the time, when Judd Trump broke off he grimaced. That could be

:06:44.:06:52.

the only shot that he is going to get, now. In this frame. You have to

:06:53.:08:52.

try to get in behind the colours, and as you saw, the cue ball sort of

:08:53.:09:03.

hit the joint more or less on the volt line, and you don't cover the

:09:04.:09:24.

red that you hit out. It is hard to see Neil missing here. The standard

:09:25.:09:26.

is so high. He can make another 139 if he

:09:27.:09:57.

fancies it, which would give him a share of the prize plate. Still a

:09:58.:10:43.

good chance of another century. The cue dead in line with his right

:10:44.:10:55.

eye. Right-handed players are the left eye -- over the left eye. It is

:10:56.:11:01.

arguable whether that is nature or nurture.

:11:02.:11:23.

This will be Neil Robertson's second century in this match.

:11:24.:11:39.

Top-quality, even the break shot becomes a bit of a poisoned chalice

:11:40.:11:48.

if you don't get it right. No matter how good you are, if you are sat in

:11:49.:11:54.

that seat there is nothing you can do about it. He has already made the

:11:55.:12:01.

highest plate of the tournament, and now, he has won back, and Judd Trump

:12:02.:12:08.

leads 3-4. Trying to get the cue ball in behind

:12:09.:12:35.

the brown, not quite. Good length. Snooker would have been a better

:12:36.:12:44.

result for Neil. He has enough of the side of the pack to flick off,

:12:45.:12:51.

but the red is inviting, should he get it in, he has hit it well... But

:12:52.:13:00.

he hasn't got away with it. Although this is a lot more difficult than it

:13:01.:13:02.

looks on TV. He just has a slight angle, and he

:13:03.:13:36.

just has to leave its crate on the pink, which would be a nice run

:13:37.:13:42.

through for the black. First chance for Neil Robertson.

:13:43.:13:58.

The way these two players have been scoring today... You expect them to

:13:59.:14:10.

get sizeable breaks. He probably didn't want to play for the black,

:14:11.:14:14.

even though it is on a good angle for the blue. He could have done

:14:15.:14:22.

with a bit more angle than this, he just under hit that slightly. If he

:14:23.:14:30.

tries to go into the pink direct to play the canon, he will have to

:14:31.:14:37.

generate the pace. He might hit this hard. He couldn't have hit that any

:14:38.:14:57.

better and should have got more red s open. Count yourself lucky. Can he

:14:58.:15:03.

spot-on through the gap? If it goes, he can screw back for

:15:04.:15:22.

the black. He put his hand up to apologise to Judd after this thread

:15:23.:15:26.

went in, because basically he was lucky to find that plant. A bit of

:15:27.:15:41.

swings and roundabouts really, because he hit the blue so well, he

:15:42.:15:52.

could have opened up more reds. Will this be another frame winning

:15:53.:15:57.

combination? We have had so many here today, power snooker. This is

:15:58.:16:04.

why it is so hard to pick winners in these matches. The last three, Judd

:16:05.:16:14.

just broke off, but now Neill is in. It has gone slightly awkward,

:16:15.:16:20.

because I don't think the blue has gone to the middle, or does it? No,

:16:21.:16:41.

so a straightish green. He tried to get perfect on the red by the blue,

:16:42.:16:47.

and once again he played on the yellow earlier and over screwed up.

:16:48.:17:04.

He over screwed it by some distance. Good pot is needed here.

:17:05.:17:11.

How is the control of the cue ball? Not very good. He thought, pot the

:17:12.:17:20.

red, bound to be on the black, but he has overhit it slightly. Well...

:17:21.:17:33.

It looks like he is lining up the black, surely not. It is a monstrous

:17:34.:17:40.

blue to take on. Easy talking himself into the black? Top players

:17:41.:17:51.

are loath to cut their losses and play safe. Once they get amongst it

:17:52.:17:56.

they want to keep playing, but sometimes it is the right thing to

:17:57.:18:00.

do. It looks like he has a nice half will of the green to get the cue

:18:01.:18:02.

ball in behind the brown. He not only got the snooker, but got

:18:03.:18:11.

the green safe as well. It wasn't far away, but the only

:18:12.:18:46.

problem with that shot, it got almighty close to the pink coming

:18:47.:18:54.

off three cautions. He is frightened of nestling up to those, because he

:18:55.:19:01.

could leave a pot just to the right of the blue. As I say, he has got to

:19:02.:19:16.

get very close to the pink. So, that you would think is the end of this

:19:17.:19:18.

frame. It will be all square again. If he screwed it a little bit

:19:19.:20:28.

further than the line, it wouldn't cause a problem. You think he would

:20:29.:20:31.

be going for yellow here. Veretout macro red is just to the

:20:32.:20:46.

side. He is now in prime position. He signals that he has got to the

:20:47.:21:46.

required stage, and that pink going in means there is no way back to the

:21:47.:21:52.

table for Judd. It has been a topsy-turvy match. Judd Trump on the

:21:53.:22:02.

first two frames,, then Neil Robertson won the next two. It is

:22:03.:22:12.

getting more and more important, the target is six, and it will be four

:22:13.:22:14.

apiece. Still no real signs of who it may

:22:15.:22:33.

be. It doesn't matter about the red, so Judd Trump loses his two

:22:34.:22:44.

frame advantage. It is all to play for.

:22:45.:22:54.

Once again, he may have to dig down a little bit. The pot is difficult,

:22:55.:23:06.

it is around behind the black, and that is what makes the difference.

:23:07.:23:15.

Where is the red ball going? Well! It just shows the difference, that

:23:16.:23:19.

when he couldn't float in, he had to do a bit with the cue ball. First

:23:20.:23:21.

chance, Judd Trump. Beautiful. The perfect weight, hit

:23:22.:24:11.

soap crisply, to win arguably the most important frame of the match so

:24:12.:24:19.

far. Whoever wins this has two bites to get over the line.

:24:20.:24:38.

Early days, of course, but if you are going to place balls all over

:24:39.:24:47.

the table, there is always the possibility of 147. I think winning

:24:48.:25:00.

the frame is a prime concern first. I think Judd is disappointed he

:25:01.:25:03.

didn't get a better angle on this, there are other reds available, but

:25:04.:25:14.

they are missable. The one into the left corner would be the one to play

:25:15.:25:17.

for the black, but he feels like he can get on to the black quite

:25:18.:25:24.

easily. Slightly awkward cueing, there will be along Bridge, but he

:25:25.:25:31.

is happy he will be able to it,, so the screw through the gap between

:25:32.:25:39.

the two, is that what he's planning? Not a great shot. It went a bit

:25:40.:25:47.

awkward, it is hard to get the top spin, so if he sends his cue ball in

:25:48.:25:54.

and out, it will avoid... Possibly the green is the big locker. He

:25:55.:26:01.

decided just to roll it in and leave himself a good distance red. It is

:26:02.:26:06.

or is difficult to get the necessary top spin on that kind of shot. Right

:26:07.:26:17.

in the heart of a pocket. Never any doubt. This isn't a problem for him,

:26:18.:26:33.

I don't think it has judged the pace right. He got away with it a

:26:34.:26:39.

fraction. It looked for a moment that he would have nothing, but I

:26:40.:26:44.

think he has a choice. The one to the left maybe is the better. He is

:26:45.:26:55.

playing the one to the right. Right in the heart of the pocket, perfect

:26:56.:26:58.

position. He didn't get that in the middle of

:26:59.:27:24.

the pocket, a nice little nudge,. Is not resting much time -- wasting. He

:27:25.:27:31.

is letting his ability and natural talent to the work. This is what you

:27:32.:27:38.

practise for, so that when it comes to the match you can follow. Average

:27:39.:27:50.

shot time for Judd Trump is an astonishing 16 seconds per shot. He

:27:51.:28:07.

is just not finding perfect position at the moment, I have to say that.

:28:08.:28:14.

He should have been straighter on the pink. He played a black before

:28:15.:28:19.

that didn't go in the middle, and an unfortunate kiss on the red that

:28:20.:28:24.

left it on. You just feel that he is only a few pots... That is OK, but

:28:25.:28:37.

does the black go? If it doesn't, he will have to play the pink and there

:28:38.:28:43.

is pressure on this. If it goes in, it is a framework. If he misses it,

:28:44.:28:50.

a chance for Robertson to counter-attack. Tremendous shot!

:28:51.:28:57.

Absolutely top-class. We have seen some snooker today, Steve. The shot

:28:58.:29:06.

of the match so far. So easy to have missed that through tension. In goes

:29:07.:29:25.

the black. If you are thinking about it, Neil Robertson made a 139 in

:29:26.:29:36.

frame four, there is a possible 141 here.

:29:37.:29:59.

Going to assume he has done the maths. A marvellous performance here

:30:00.:30:13.

from Judd Trump. This is really going to set the next frame up

:30:14.:30:15.

nicely. If he can convert this into a

:30:16.:30:32.

century break it would be five centuries in nine frames.

:30:33.:30:41.

Superb shot. Could've just on a running past the pink but he be

:30:42.:30:51.

placed the red and the pinky still got 140.

:30:52.:31:07.

top sensational stuff from the juggernaut.

:31:08.:31:16.

For the highest break of the tournament. And he knows, because he

:31:17.:31:27.

sat in his chair and watch Neil Robertson make the 139 in the fourth

:31:28.:31:30.

frame. Right in the middle of the pocket.

:31:31.:31:45.

It was all this practice overt Christmas that Judd was talking

:31:46.:31:51.

about paying off here. Of course a double whammy for Neil

:31:52.:32:00.

Robertson. Not saying that this break will stand by the end of the

:32:01.:32:04.

tournament but he has more or less taken ?10,000. Out of Neil Robertson

:32:05.:32:10.

's pocket, here. If he can pot the three remaining balls...

:32:11.:32:27.

Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! Judd Trump third surgery of the

:32:28.:32:38.

match and not only is it his third it is the highest break of the

:32:39.:32:43.

tournament. Absolutely tremendous and! Andy now one frame away from a

:32:44.:32:49.

place in the semi-final. Well, this looks like a better

:32:50.:33:08.

length of the break of shot. It made it more difficult with eight good

:33:09.:33:14.

length of cueball. -- a good length of cueball. There is a good length

:33:15.:33:19.

of shot to nothing about just rolling back into the left corner.

:33:20.:33:28.

Only being able to leave up, he spotted one into the opposite corner

:33:29.:33:34.

that was the same equation. Quite a way out there. I think he played the

:33:35.:33:41.

pot. It could have been a safety shot. I think he did play the pot.

:33:42.:33:48.

Probably making certain. The one thing he didn't want to be if he

:33:49.:33:52.

missed it was career into the reds. And there was time, wasn't it Webb

:33:53.:33:58.

to Robert in and get position on the black. -- to roll that in. He is

:33:59.:34:10.

going to win this vital safety battle.

:34:11.:34:18.

Potential for the black to get tied up a bit here. I thought he was

:34:19.:34:26.

going to play the pack. That was a far better shop. -- shot. Still

:34:27.:34:40.

could get a bit messy this frame. Neil Robertson has a big target

:34:41.:34:45.

behind the green and brown. Shifting reds around a bit.

:34:46.:35:02.

The escape down the right-hand side of the table. That gives Judd a

:35:03.:35:08.

slight problem. The obvious one is to come off the side cushion and

:35:09.:35:12.

just nestle into that little cluster of read just below the pink. --

:35:13.:35:20.

three. That's the one, but, it's one of those. You've just got to be

:35:21.:35:26.

careful you don't slide by. You've got to judge it to perfection. Is he

:35:27.:35:28.

going to reach? Does anything go? If it doesn't, he

:35:29.:35:45.

will have it replaced. There is a red just below the pink. There is a

:35:46.:35:55.

gap for it. It's definitely goes. Although he is not convinced. I have

:35:56.:36:04.

never been one for looking behind the pocket. A lot of players do like

:36:05.:36:12.

to check from that angle. So, he's got enough room to manoeuvre here.

:36:13.:36:24.

He just flicked the red but he still got it. He wins the safety exchange.

:36:25.:36:35.

And he gets first chance. Did inflict the red -- didn't flick.

:36:36.:37:21.

Not quite certain. He is obviously thinking about where the pinky is

:37:22.:37:30.

going to go. -- pink. I don't think there is a problem potting the pink

:37:31.:37:34.

and getting on the next red. Where does the pink go?

:37:35.:37:42.

It comfortably goes on its own spot. Is it available to the right corner?

:37:43.:37:52.

No. Not available. So, it is tied up, out of commission.

:37:53.:38:02.

He tried to stun across that the black and I don't think he's done it

:38:03.:38:12.

far enough over. Yes, that's a mistake. He caught that a bit

:38:13.:38:20.

thicker than he wanted. He had a bit more room to play with at the

:38:21.:38:21.

pocket. Big blue to take on now. He's got many balls save on the

:38:22.:38:57.

table. -- safe. Has he got an angle to be able to get on the black of

:38:58.:39:02.

the top cushion? It looks like he has. And of course potting this red

:39:03.:39:08.

Clisby blackspot. It could not have worked out any better. -- clears the

:39:09.:39:16.

blackspot. Don't tell me another century break? What a performance

:39:17.:39:20.

that would be. Blog this is just an incredible

:39:21.:39:28.

standard. -- well, this is. Didn't feel as though he could play

:39:29.:39:51.

for the black, there. Perfect on this blue.

:39:52.:39:55.

One thing he will want to try and avoid if he can is playing cannons

:39:56.:40:03.

because then it will go wrong. And the yellow, which is a straight

:40:04.:40:08.

line, which he could play, he has screwed that shot a couple of times

:40:09.:40:13.

so he is not in an ideal position. He is too wide on the blue to make

:40:14.:40:15.

this comfortable. Potting the blue and spring into the

:40:16.:40:29.

pack is trusting a bit to luck. It's difficult to see it Sackley those

:40:30.:40:35.

two reds above the black, how they are place. -- exactly. He is

:40:36.:40:41.

certainly out of position, that is for certain.

:40:42.:40:57.

I ashamed that this bottom red of the two won't be long. This is path,

:40:58.:41:10.

but I think he will get it. Well played. Such a high standard. You

:41:11.:41:22.

don't X X these players to miss the pressure shots. It has just been

:41:23.:41:32.

superb. -- expect. When you think they are going to wobble slightly

:41:33.:41:35.

they just come up with another tremendous shot.

:41:36.:42:14.

Short of ideal. He is going to have two lead himself further away and

:42:15.:42:25.

for the left-hander, a bit more difficult.

:42:26.:42:39.

World this time a slight angle on the blue. You would then keyword

:42:40.:43:06.

play to the red that is on the left-hand side of the table, here.

:43:07.:43:11.

-- you would think he would. I think he is just about OK to stun

:43:12.:43:29.

this in on the face of the black for the black in the same pocket. He has

:43:30.:43:38.

under hit it. A quick glance at the scoreboard, he still needs the

:43:39.:43:48.

black. And one more red. It's gone wrong.

:43:49.:43:55.

Still a good chance of getting the black but the position makes it

:43:56.:43:58.

harder. You just can't fault them, can you?

:43:59.:44:20.

An exhibition of snooker for the highest standard top and that was

:44:21.:44:29.

the ball that puts him 68 points in front with just 67 remaining. It is

:44:30.:44:38.

one chance snigger all the way. -- snooker. Whoever loses this match

:44:39.:44:46.

has got every right to kick the dressing room door in.

:44:47.:45:01.

A lovely pot. That means that judge will not be coming back to the

:45:02.:45:09.

table. We are definitely into a decider. It would be nice to see

:45:10.:45:11.

another century. Needs a good angle to split three

:45:12.:45:24.

reds up. Well, PT, no century. -- pity. I

:45:25.:46:10.

players are going to leave the arena. It is all square. We have got

:46:11.:46:15.

a deciding frame to look forward to. Who will it be? Hard to say.

:46:16.:46:40.

He may have left this red to the corner but the black is tied up so

:46:41.:46:48.

Neil Robertson won't be knocking one in off the brakes, here. -- break.

:46:49.:47:00.

This is path when you have to say that -- tough. Just to get it off

:47:01.:47:12.

the breeze. It is important. It's delighted to see how it has panned

:47:13.:47:17.

out. Early red into the ball carrier. Judge would really want to

:47:18.:47:24.

clear the black. It's a positive thing to do.

:47:25.:47:39.

-- Judd. It looks like this is going to turn into a bit of a tactical

:47:40.:47:47.

affair at this and of the table. A couple of seasons ago and would have

:47:48.:47:52.

David Neil Robertson in the situation. I think that judges

:47:53.:48:04.

all-round game has improved a lot. -- Judd's.

:48:05.:48:10.

Normally you would want to cover the red but with that other red being in

:48:11.:48:16.

that half of the table it wasn't that important.

:48:17.:48:22.

If Neil plays this red, which he is doing, and he doesn't leap the other

:48:23.:48:31.

red or a chance of it in the middle -- leave. That was a brisk. It could

:48:32.:48:38.

have gone in as easy as you like. Looking at the red into the middle

:48:39.:49:02.

pocket? He looked at it. Surely not. I don't think he could risk playing

:49:03.:49:10.

back to the baulk end. He still may be playing to the top cushion. He

:49:11.:49:24.

has tried it -- what a shot in! Opportunism at the very best and can

:49:25.:49:28.

he not this bike in? It is not ideal. -- black. If they are! What

:49:29.:49:41.

an opening red. It is a different kettle of this. -- fish.

:49:42.:49:50.

Reds are really tightly bunched but he's got a fantastic opportunity to

:49:51.:50:18.

get the absolute perfect angle on the blue. Just smash them all over

:50:19.:50:21.

the table. Pink spot available. All in line

:50:22.:50:40.

with the top of the cushion. Just taking those two reds that are close

:50:41.:50:49.

to the pink. Perfect angle on the red to get nicely on the blue. And

:50:50.:50:53.

here is the smash. It doesn't look as though there is a plant to one of

:50:54.:50:58.

the corners so he can go for this, full-blooded.

:50:59.:51:07.

Well a little too much backspin on the keyboard. The keyboard than just

:51:08.:51:17.

went a way. He could have stunned that. He has got a red but it is not

:51:18.:51:20.

straightforward. That was a brilliant shot. He can

:51:21.:51:36.

count himself a little bit lucky. He has lost the cue ball to the side

:51:37.:51:40.

cushion. The pressure pot on the blue, no guarantee of position,

:51:41.:51:43.

either. He needs to commit... How did that drop? ! It came out

:51:44.:52:01.

once and twice. Neil Robertson must've thought he'd missed it. I

:52:02.:52:06.

think Judd thought he'd missed it. The tension. Not in the centre, but

:52:07.:52:16.

it was still a good strike. And Judd Trump must be feeling the heat. This

:52:17.:52:22.

is so exciting. It doesn't look like he is feeling it, though

:52:23.:52:26.

It's a guilt edged chance now. That opens things up nicely. Play to

:52:27.:52:49.

superb throughout the match. Just got to hold himself together now for

:52:50.:52:55.

this last opportunity. What a fantastic exhibition of snooker from

:52:56.:53:02.

both players. Judd Trump now has the chance to so it up here and now. --

:53:03.:53:11.

sew. Judd Trump is trying to keep the

:53:12.:53:20.

nerves under wraps. There is his family.

:53:21.:53:28.

He's just looking like he is not going to miss but you never know.

:53:29.:53:32.

There is a twist in the tale. He has kept his rhythm up so well.

:53:33.:53:46.

Fair point. It is easy sometimes to over think a little bit in moments

:53:47.:53:52.

like this. But, he is obviously not perfect on this pink. Otherwise, he

:53:53.:53:59.

would have played it by now. There is his girlfriend. She is new to

:54:00.:54:02.

this game. A bit short of pace. First mistake.

:54:03.:54:18.

Neil Robertson playing close attention. He has spotted it. He'd

:54:19.:54:25.

be running into another red. Can you get position? If that Rose the

:54:26.:54:37.

middle it will be... -- goes. Neil Robertson fearing the worst. A bit

:54:38.:54:46.

fortunate there. Another mistake! Surely he has not snookered

:54:47.:54:53.

himself? He needs one more red. And a colour. He has got to cut into the

:54:54.:54:58.

left corner or he would be tempted by swerving that. You can't

:54:59.:55:06.

believe, I mean, Judd can believe when he rolled the black in he was

:55:07.:55:08.

going to nudge the blue. That's what he needs now. The blue.

:55:09.:55:19.

He dropped one in like this before but merely stayed out. This is the

:55:20.:55:23.

blue. He dropped one in like this before but merely stayed out. This

:55:24.:55:30.

to no problem this time! What a match this has been! One of the

:55:31.:55:36.

greatest games we have ever seen in Masters history. Or any other

:55:37.:55:41.

tournament I've ever seen. You can see him shaking like a leaf on that.

:55:42.:55:46.

How well do he performed to get over the winning line? There is a

:55:47.:55:52.

reaction. That's what it meant to him. Now he just needs to compose

:55:53.:55:59.

himself enrolled this red Eden. And that will be it! There was no way

:56:00.:56:08.

back for Neil Robertson now. He has been the player of the season by

:56:09.:56:12.

Judd Trump has proven when he is on form he can beat anybody. And it has

:56:13.:56:23.

taken Judd a performance of this magnitude to knock Neil Robertson

:56:24.:56:27.

out of his winning ways. Fair point. Neil Robertson most of the season

:56:28.:56:33.

has been looking unfeasible. But, this boy is so talented. As I say,

:56:34.:56:40.

the world championship last season, he lost in the semi-final to Stuart

:56:41.:56:44.

Ring, I thought his all-round game would just come up a notch or two.

:56:45.:56:52.

He wasn't attacking all the time. Which was probably a bit of a

:56:53.:56:59.

weakness. -- Stuart Bingham. Now just busting the eyes and crossing

:57:00.:57:06.

the Tees. Six centuries in 11 frames, what a strike rate that is.

:57:07.:57:11.

Unbelievable. And for frames for Judd if he can do it. -- format.

:57:12.:57:15.

What a strike! As good a break as you will see to

:57:16.:57:43.

win a match. The opening red was the perp and to hold himself together --

:57:44.:57:50.

superb. What a credit to this player. Yes, if he was suffering

:57:51.:57:56.

from a slight lack of confidence coming into this tournament, he

:57:57.:58:00.

won't any more. He is the real deal. There is no doubt about that. And,

:58:01.:58:09.

as we say, it's taking this type of performance to beat Neil Robertson.

:58:10.:58:13.

His fourth century of the match! It has been absolutely sensational. And

:58:14.:58:19.

a standing ovation to everybody in the powers for one of the greatest

:58:20.:58:25.

matches you have ever seen -- Alexandra Palace. Judd Trump, I take

:58:26.:58:31.

my hat off to you! What a great performance. Neil Robertson was good

:58:32.:58:36.

but Judd Trump was just a little bit better. He is in the semi-final. He

:58:37.:58:44.

wins a classic six frames divide. One of the great matches in Masters

:58:45.:58:50.

history. Congratulations to Judd Trump he will now take on Barry

:58:51.:58:55.

Hawkins in the final. You can watch this at one o'clock on BBC One.
