Day 2 Masters Snooker Highlights

And good evening and welcome to

highlights of the second day of the

Luke, concentrating on the match

between Judd Trump and Liang Wenbo

China.

There was another surprise

result in this top 16 event when

Ryan Day contributors behind to beat

the 2011 champion Ding Junhui. From

3-0 down, Ryan Day make three

centuries as he turned the match on

its head to inflict more Ally Pally

misery on Ding Junhui who has gone

out in the third round six times in

seven years. Ryan is into the

Masters finals for just the second

the tonight's match between number

three seed Judd Trump and Liang

Wenbo, who came within one black of

knocking out Ronnie O'Sullivan the

eventual champion in round one last

year. His best result came in 2012

and 2016 when he reached the

semifinals here at Zander Palace.

Three times in the last four years

he has fallen at this first round

stage. -- at Alexander Dallas.

This includes a 9-6 victory over

Judd when Liang Wenbo took his only

ranking title, the 2016 English open

but the last match was successfully.

it. I always feel, go into the bunch

when you have a loose red and there

is a bit of insurance should the

split not work out. If he gets the

will give him an angle to open the

If he can stretch over and reach it,

it might help.

hoping it doesn't go on to its own

spot, otherwise he is out of

Well, it turned out to be one-way

traffic. Liang Wenbo, brilliant

break of 85, gets himself through to

the next round and takes the match

by 6-4.

I felt comfortable at 5-1

and then I made a few mistakes which

I shouldn't have, just because of

the lead I had, I got careless. He

got careless and in amongst the

balls a few times and started to

motor and get on with it. Before I

knew it, it was 5-4 and it was

reverse pressure and the pressure

was back on me. Everybody has

underachieved here, apart from

Ronnie. He is the one that does well

every single time. There is a lot of

players who haven't won this event.

It will be nice to win this, but I

won't put too much pressure by

saying it is a bigger event than

anything else. I will just go out

and try to do the same as I normally

do.
