Good evening, welcome. For games played today, the thoughts of Mark

Lawrenson and Michael Owen to come. Let's go straight to the first game,

from Stamford Bridge. Two clubs with much in common, rich

owners, hundreds of billions of pounds worth of talent and under new

management again, sort of. Jose Mourinho has never lost a home

league match with Chelsea, but Manchester City have won seven of

the last ten meetings between the two teams. At Stamford Bridge for

us, Jonathan Pearce. The barometer may be falling, the

pressure in the title race is rising, though. The calm before the

storm, Manuel Pellegrini has refused to respond to the mind games of Jose

Mourinho before this clash of the financial heavyweights, who know

that this season spending power alone might not even purchase a top

four place. Chelsea never beaten at home in the league under Jose

Mourinho welcome back Ashley Cole. Otherwise, it is the team that won

decisively in the Champions League. Martin Demichelis makes his

Manchester City debut. Javi Garcia reverts to midfield. Samir Nasri

also comes in. Gael Clichy comes in. Aleksandar Kolarov drops to the

bench. Martin Demichelis was unsure,

perhaps, on his debut. The flag was raised, it would not

have counted against Gary Cahill. A good start by Chelsea. He was not

offside, but I think John Terry, by manoeuvring his body, may have been

active. It is a strange one. He did not have a great record against Jose

Mourinho in Spanish football. There was an offside flag raised. It

may well have been against Branislav Ivanovic, the first man to go.

Fernando Torres was making the run behind him. I suspect they were both

left in. Branislav Ivanovic, definitely, and he went for the

ball, so he was active. Fernando Torres may not have been offside.

The flag had stayed down, that was a horrible mess. He cannot buy a goal

in Premier league football. Jose Mourinho knows that could be the

moment that matters most. He is marginally offside, I think. It was

an awful finish. It would have counted.

Yes, 1-0, Chelsea. Andre Schurrle scores, but Fernando Torres made it

with a magnificent run. Andre Schurrle's first goal for the club,

a horrible mess for Fernando Torres, the best way to respond is

to get on with your job, that is a brilliant run. He left Gael Clichy

for dead, nobody picked up Andre Schurrle. Chelsea lead. It could be

such an important encounter. Martin Demichelis could not get the cross

away. Andre Schurrle nipped in to get the precious goal. He scored 14

in Germany last season, the German supremo looks on.

A magnificent effort, that deserved to go in. Brilliant, Fernando

Torres, he had to improvise and go by himself. He cracked it against

the woodwork. What a game this is! It was high-quality touch. It was

always rising. Petr Cech's 445th Chelsea appearance. He parried it

strongly. Fernandinho was outshone by Ramires in the first half.

Sergio Aguero finishes magnificently, but Petr Cech could

have been at fault. His 10th goal of the season, his 26th in 44 games. He

is in an offside position there. He is level where. He is OK. Gary

Cahill plays him on, but Petr Cech should have done better. A screaming

shot from Sergio Aguero. It bent away from Petr Cech, but the Chelsea

goalkeeper was slow to react, and beaten at his near post.

He was caught by Ramires on the edge of the box. He flew through the air

dramatically. Just outside the box. It is a yellow card. A risky

challenge to leave a foot binding. He caught the Frenchman, no doubt

about that. They had far too much room in there for Chelsea comfort.

It is a theatrical dive. There might have been minimal contact from Pablo

Zabaleta, and the referee might give him the benefit of the doubt, but it

was so theatrical and unnecessarily. Not a penalty for me. It does not

necessarily follow that it is always a dive, but there was a good case

for that argument there. Fernando Torres really has played well.

The referee must pull out a card, it was quite cynical. There were

covering defenders. That is eminently sensible refereeing. There

was a covering defender, Matija Nastasic. Cynical defending. He

clearly took his man out. Chelsea on the front foot again.

It is wide by John Terry. As the ball floated in, the assistant's

flag stayed down. The long leg of Petr Cech keeps the

score 1-1, Manchester City by far the better team in the second half.

Crisp build-up. Petr Cech was aware. Advantage played, but the referee

has to think about this, because David Silva was caught on the chest.

Ramires with the challenge initially. Then, Branislav Ivanovic

caught him. Sergio Aguero has gone down, holding

the back of his neck. The right arm right into the neck of Sergio

Aguero. He got away with that, John Terry, just on the edge of the box.

Just inside, I think it was. Fernando Torres has won it for

Chelsea, his first league goal of 2013. Manchester City can only gape

in utter, utter disbelief. He has fully deserved it. He has led the

line by hard work, persistent and skill. And Chelsea go 2-1 up, with

Fernando Torres getting the winner. But what an awful moment at the back

for Manchester City. Manuel Pellegrini, Matija Nastasic will not

want to see that again. Look at Jose Mourinho. Joe Hart fumes.

As ever, showing an dramatic. But it has been a dramatic day.

He was playing so hard. The crowd was giving him support. I think the

ball goes to corner. Do you point the finger at individuals? I don't

look at names. I think about the team. If we want to win, we have to

fight. Sometimes we make small mistakes. You could see how

important that was for you by how you celebrated with the crowd. I

hope Manchester City especially does not misinterpret me. I did not go to

make any kind of sarcastic celebration. I hope the accept, and

if not, I apologise. It was such a dramatic game. I think it was a

fantastic game. What did you make of Jose Mourinho's celebration? I don't

expect anything different. Did you acknowledge each other after the

final whistle? Did you shake hands? No, I did not shake hands. Can I ask

why? Because I did not want. I think yet again over the coming days, we

will discuss handshakes or lack of hand shakes. It was a cracking

match. It was intriguing. I thought Chelsea were very, very good.

Manchester City set themselves up to be not beaten. Second half, they

started to release one or two players forward. In the end, it was

a horrible mistake from Joe Hart that got the two extra points for

Chelsea. Let's talk about Fernando Torres. Jose Mourinho said he was

fantastic. Would you agree? I would, certainly. We all my he is

fantastic. - - we all know he is fantastic.

This is great play. It is a difficult one. He looks aggressive.

He is using his strength. He was sent off a couple of Games ago, and

fairly in my opinion. He looks as if he is on the edge. He has got that

bit between his teeth. Although, he was running at players. He looks

like an angry man. He looks angry, definitely. I think top players need

to be on the edge to perform like that. I think that is a fantastic

effort. All day, he was picking the ball up, running, causing problems.

The fans really got behind him today. You always have to expect a

mistake from a mistake, defender, goalkeeper, both in this case. You

have to be optimistic. Scoring a goal is the best feeling in the

world. This is probably the second best. Walking off, everyone saying

your name. I think he knows he is a number one striker at the moment.

It was his first full 90 minutes of the season, was that. He looks

great. And he played midweek as well. Normally, if you close midweek

he does not play at the weekend, or not the full game. Defensively, away

from home, they have had all sorts of problems. They conceded so many

goals. They are all over the place. They're

not close enough. Also, Fernandinho was behind them. He should be well

in front. They got away with this. Here they are again. You could

drive' through them. Look at that. It is Fernandinho again, having to

deal with the ball coming in. I don't know if there is a

communication problem. Martin Demi Challis, he is directing traffic

somewhere else. - - Demichelis. I don't care what anybody else says. I

think this is Joe Hart's fault. Joe Hart is running. One earth can

Matija Nastasic do with that? - - what on earth.

From both angles, when he runs out, you can see him shout, keepers. He

shouted again. Why? You are in the last minute, away, the centre

forward is chasing the ball down. The crowd screaming. You are never

going to hear. Also, Nastasic is in charge. Joe Hart has to give a bit

of room. There are some times, you are in control. Nastasic was in

control of the ball, of the situation. If that hadn't happened,

we would probably be praising city. We would probably have been praising

Pellegrini for his selection as well. Yes. This is the team he

played against Munich a week or so ago.

It was an attacking team. They had just beaten man United. They were

not going to make the same mistake again. Going to Chelsea, it is a

tough game. That is as powerful as it gets. They did not get overrun.

The right formation, the right team. They deserved a point. Officer, an

awful mistake. And former state from home? Joe Hart. At home, they look

unbeatable. Away from home, they look like Donald Duck. His words,

not mine. Three Games, we have all of

yesterday's roles - - goals. First, time for a derby.

It is a derby. We know it is important to our fans.

It is a really important part of our future.

Gus Poyet will be the fourth Sunderland boss Alan Pardew has

faced. The derby is for the region, for the people. There are four

changes from last week. It is Andrea Casino's debut. - -

Andrea Dossena. Jozy Altidore wins a corner. You can

see the excitement and you can hear it all around. Phil Bardsley is

making a nuisance of himself full is - - himself. Steven Fletcher scores

for Sunderland! We have liftoff at the Stadium of Light. The short

corner caught Newcastle under wires. Steven Fletcher was the man.

It is the first Sunderland goal of the Gus Poyet era.

Jozy Altidore got to the ball, but running out of play. Great technique

from Fletcher. Paul Dummett was trying to be a shield. The

goalkeeper is not coming. Alto was. - - Altidore was. Handsworth being

applied on both sides. I think he will give a cooking after both

parties. Both players are fortunate not to have some sort of punishment.

Tiote. Davide Santon. Strong running from Mathieu Debuchy.

Tiote, bundled to the fore by Fletcher, but he was already

falling. It will be in Newcastle free kick, though. Fletcher could

hardly put the brakes on. We have seen some goals in the

Premier league recently. That have defied belief. Not that one.

Phil Bardsley. Kept in play by Hatem Ben Arthur. - - Hatem Ben Arfa. That

was a last-ditch tackle. There is booing from Sunderland fans, who

think their team should ever free kick.

All of the possession they are having, you sense that Newcastle

will fashion themselves a chance to score.

Mathieu Debuchy has scored! The flag has stayed down, Newcastle are

level, Mathieu Debuchy's first goal for the club. Though one cab I got a

second chance to use the ball, Hatem Ben Arfa waiting patiently, he has

passed it into the box. Sunderland's defence was

statuesque. Mathieu Debuchy ran in unchallenged to pass the ball into

the goal. It is a good shot, it cannot have

missed by much. Kieren Westwood was not sure. Hatem Ben Arfa made it

harder with the lay-off. It was bending back towards the goal. We

are just past the three quarters point of the game, Gus Poyet at is

making his first substitution as a Sunderland manager at the Stadium Of

Light, Adam Johnson is going off. He is not happy about it. He did not

have a handshake, either. Fabio Borini comes on.

Tim Krul just had enough to stop the ball. No free kick, despite the

Newcastle appeals. Tim Krul sat on it. In the second half and the

second half of the first period, Newcastle have been the better team.

That was not far away. Shola Ameobi lets fly. His confidence levels go

through the roof when it comes to Derby day.

The free kick has gone to Newcastle, has it? It is a free kick to

Sunderland. Fabiola Porrini has smashed it

home. Read on quite polite and biliary and. If you are going to

score a goal to win a local derby, make it a good one. Newcastle were

not switched on to the quickly taken free kick, Fabio Borini took over

from Jozy Altidore and nearly took the net off. He scores his first

goal for Sunderland. It might be a winner for Gus Poyet at's new

Sunderland. A change of mood up in the gods. And

down near the pitch. There might just be one more chance for

Newcastle yet. Kieren Westwood has only just held on to it. Sunderland

were all at sea. It was John O'Shea with the back header, he did not

know where it was going. Kieren Westwood made sure it did not cross

the line. Sunderland are seconds away from winning successive derbies

for the first time since 1967. They are all calling for the referee to

blow the time. It is all over for Newcastle. It is a first victory of

the season for Sunderland. Their first home points of the season. Gus

Poyet is up and running. When you sit on the bench, you

cannot dream that the afternoon will end like that. Actually, I trimmed

about it -- I trimmed about it. I work with a mental coach,

visualisation. I text of my friends, I will score the winner, a 2-1

result. You can check my text such as! I am glad it actually happened.

I thought we were the better team. The decision caught us out, we

thought it was our throwing, the linesman gave it. We gave them a

chance. We had three or four great chances, and we feel really

disappointed. A very happy Gus Poyet spoke to us

afterwards. Relief, happy for the players,

delighted for the fans, it was an incredible day. The situation we are

end, the only thing you are looking for is to win. The way we did it,

the work, the last goal, the way we recovered from the Newcastle goal,

plenty of positives. Your team came out very prompt, working hard, what

did you say to them? It is something ready to do each week, and even more

in a derby. The players needed to show everything, they were very

aggressive. You can pay the price at the end. It is when you need the

substitutes, we took a risk, we took Lee Cattermole off, he was important

for us, to give something different for Ki Sung-Yeung to pass the ball,

and we needed another striker on the pitch. We gave everything. It will

be a very nice evening today. How will these three points in a local

derby affect your players? It is going to change the season. It is

difficult to predict the future, but it will be a different atmosphere at

the training ground, the players will be even more together, the fans

will be looking forward to the next game. This job is a lot better than

sitting in the studio with us! I tell you what, it is difficult to

say! I will never have a heart attack, sitting in there with you!

Congratulations, enjoy your evening. He was a happy man, and he could not

have got off to a better start. Exactly, the defeat last week, his

first home game, if you win, it feels like eight points, rather than

three. They got off to a great start, Steven Fletcher and Paul

Dummett. Paul Dummett gets conned a bit. Steven Fletcher just steals a

bit of space. He hangs on him, and Paul Dummett cannot raise a head for

the poor. That was massive, and you can see the reaction. The way they

went about the job today was great, they are deficient in quite a few

departments, they do not have that much quality, but in terms of

workrate, application, fantastic, brilliant. I could have shown 30 of

these instances. This is Sebastian Larsson, he will have a heart

attack, chasing the ball. Tackling each other, he just saw somebody in

stripes! Phil Bardsley is sprinting back, along with the others, to win

the ball, which is what they do. Only one thing in mind, it is a

derby, it gets you wound up, and you get in. The referee gave a free kick

for Hatem Ben Arfa, I did not think it was a free kick. Jozy Altidore,

the furthest up the pitch, he gets a half chance, a good tackle high

Mathieu Debuchy. The enthusiasm got through. The work ethic needs to be

there in every game from now one. It is one thing doing it in a derby, it

is another doing it in an away game on a Wednesday night. The main thing

is scoring goals. Steven Fletcher can score goals on a regular basis,

but Sunderland's problem will be scoring goals. They will have to

play like that every week. Yes, but they have set the standard, and he

will say, every week, that is the minimum. The workrate. He talked

about the first training session, what a lift it will be, will he have

to work on anything in particular? Lots of things. Adam Johnson is a

really good player. He set the first goal up. You are always taught, no

matter what position you play in, apart from strikers, he lets Moussa

Sissoko run. They were lucky that people was not straight on his

head, otherwise Newcastle would have scored. That is the warning. I'm

sure one or two of the players will say, stay with the runner. He has

got Mathieu Debuchy there, he is still in a good position, you can

see the ball, he can see where the man is, but what does he do? He let

him run. Is that just switching off? Or laziness, or both. He is not

a particularly good professional. Fabio Borini comes on, the whole

thing happens for him. It could have been a foul on Mathieu Debuchy, he

almost schools. And then, this is what Alan Pardew complained about.

They took the free kick quickly. Jozy Altidore's touch was not meant

for Fabio Borini, but what a finish. Sensational. Just brilliant. Gus

Poyet was keen to highlight the role of Ki Sung-Yeung. As far as Fabio

Borini was saying about the visualisation coach, did you do

anything like that? I close my eyes and pictured myself scoring, but if

I was on the bench, I would think, I will score the winner. It was always

on your mind. It is a confidence thing. It is working for him. It is

then no wonder they have such a big background staff!

Cooktop and keep up their good start at home to Hull city?

Hull City have one and drawn here in their last two visits, but they are

without key players. Tottenham have kept five clean sheets in their

eight league matches so far. One change for Tottenham from the Aston

Villa match, Aaron Lennon replaces the Icelander. Steve Bruce has two

make six changes, one enforced, Steve Harper, Alex Bruce and Paul

McShane make their first Premier league appearances of the season.

Tom Huddlestone faces his former club. The first of two matches

between the sides this week. They also meet in the League Cup in

midweek. That is a foul. Good position for

Tottenham. Dawson has come forward. What an opportunity that was. It

looks for all the world as though that would be the opening goal at

White Hart lane. Plenty of injuries affecting hometown-macro - - Pentium

injuries affecting Hull. Dawson was there to clear that away. Mike

Townsend. Townsend was pushed away by Steve Harper.

Andre Villas-Boas's side faced with the task of getting in behind a

packed Hull defence. David Myler's presence has resulted

in a corner kick for Hull. Hull looking dangerous from set pieces.

Tom Huddlestone. The shot that virtually everyone inside White Hart

lane thought was the moment. The former Spurs man, who has not scored

since April 2011. He is growing his hair for charity. Filed by Curtis

Davies. - - foul. Kyle Walker's free kick caused a few

problems there. That has not happened off his feet. Townsend.

Maynor Figueroa with the interception.

Tottenham Hotspur almost undone. George Boyd could not quite take

advantage. Hull can be very pleased indeed with their first-half

performance. Elmohamady, Curtis Davies. Hull might be a little

shorter the back here. Here comes Townsend. Roberto Soldado. Harper at

full stretch to stick out a hand and keep it at Milton L. - - 0-0. Mousa

Dembele. Mousa Dembele. Quickly closed down.

Jan Vertonghen. Elmohamady. Handball. Tottenham have the chance

to make the breakthrough with a spot kick.

That clearly struck the hand of Elmohamady. After so much pressure,

Tottenham are handed the opportunity to go in front. Roberto Soldado will

take this penalty kick. Tottenham score. It is his sixth

goal of the season. The main emotion among the home supporters, I am

sure, is huge, huge relief. Harper goes one way, the shot is directed

the other. Finally, we get a goal at White Hart lane. Just over ten

minutes to play. Momentum took him over the crowd and

into the advertising hoardings. He has landed in the photographer's

picked. - - pit. It was very worrying, the amount of time that

Townsend spent receiving treatment. He is back on. Well, I never thought

I would see that. He was filed. Dawson with the

challenge. This means Hull will either score or lose. It is the last

few seconds of additional time at the end of the match. Tom

Huddlestone. It is wide. We drove it wide and off target.

Hull were unhappy with the awarding of the penalty. I think we would be

devastated. Difficult for the referee to judge.

It is difficult to comment on decisions. Surely, common sense

would say, that is not deliberate. It baffles me. We thought, we have

more chance of winning. In my opinion, that decision was totally

unfair. The referee has cost them a point. I think this victory belongs

to the players. We played in a very difficult atmosphere. We had a

wonderful set of fans. The support has been amazing. We played with

confidence. We need to bring this atmosphere into White Hart lane.

Quite a remarkable answer from Andre Villas-Boas. It isn't often that

fans are told to do better. Not made people are braver to come out and

blame their fans. It is a Catch-22. You want fans to get behind you.

They will say, give us something to shout about and we will get behind

you. There is nothing better than a great atmosphere when you go onto

the pitch. It is not a unique situation for Spurs fans. Fans often

sit back. Well, they do. There is an expectation at that level. I think I

would be very careful to criticised, because it can come back and bite

you. We will look at the handball that

led to the penalty. What do you make of it? It is a joke. I'm a big fan

of the referee, but that is a poor decision. I think Steve Bruce is

exactly right. His hands are not above his head, not in an unnatural

position. The ball flicks up off his bike. It just flicks up into his

hand. This next angle is even more startling. We cannot see it,

certainly Michael Oliver cannot see you. He has got Jan Vertonghen

running at him. He has guests, really, I think. He has guessed.

Where is he supposed to put his hand?

You have seen a fair bit of Hull this season, and you are impressed

with what Steve Bruce has done. I really am. There have been brilliant

this season. In particular, Tom Huddlestone.

He has been brilliant. They are just lacking someone who can score goals.

You often get that with teams who have just come up. He's doing the

dirty work as well now. He is tackling. We see him tracking back

here. I saw him at the Ettie had, and he was outstanding. I have been

really impressed with Hull. Everybody knows his ability. I think

the more Games he plays, that mobility will increase. You can see

a fantastic tackle here. Nothing wrong with his mobility there.

Absolutely. All of yesterday's goals to come

after our final game today, from the Liberty Stadium. There are lots of

stats we could trot out to highlight supposed differences between Swansea

and West Ham. Just two points separating them going into this

game. It promised to be a tight match.

It is almost six years since they defeated Tottenham.

Swansea are boosted by the return of skipper Ashley Williams. West Ham

are unchanged. They named the team that performed so well at Spurs. Joe

Cole Carlton Cole are among the substitutes.

That was cleared by Jonathan de Guzman. Mark Noble from Stewart

Downing. That was a decent save. You could sense down in's intention

straightaway. - - you could sense Stewart Downing's intentions.

Kevin Noble. - - Mark Noble. Stewart Downing had the confidence to have a

go again. That was a tremendous tackle Vaughn

Taylor. Very important interception from James Tomkins. Classic Swansea.

Swansea's first corner of the game. It is what you call heavy rain.

Jussi Jaaskelainen keeps it out from Chico, West Ham survived.

Swansea mightily relieved they were not punished on the break there.

They have thrown so many forward. Mohamed Diame was free in the centre

as well. It came from the corner headed by Chico and kept out by

Jussi Jaaskelainen. Handball by Michu, he has not got

into the game as yet. Hooked away by Angel Rangel. Almost

a very awkward moment for the Swansea goalkeeper, no wonder he

congratulates Angel Rangel. Michel Vorm made a right mess of that. Guy

Demel feels he should have done better. He got a clean header on

that. He was not far away. No wonder there is a thumbs up for

the delivery, a piece of quality from Nathan Dyer. It was good

awareness. An inviting delivery. The man on loan could not quite get on

the end of it. You see Jess climbing just about

held on. It felt invitingly for Michu. The top scorer of last

season, looking to add to his two Premier League goals this season.

It was good defending by Winston Reid, another Swansea corner. That

is the type of ball that Michu has not received much today. I fantastic

save to deny Wilfried Bony. And then off the line. The record signing

nearly made a breakthrough. What reflex is from the goalkeeper.

Matthew Jarvis could not get enough purchase on it. The presence of

Carlton Cole is helping here. It does not look as though he will get

back-to-back victories in the Premier League. The trip to Cardiff

next weekend. Another clean sheet on the road for West Ham, though. A

comfortable save for Michel Vorm. His presence has created a different

problem for the Swansea defenders. It is a corner. Swansea thought it

might have been handball, but the referee did not. He raises his arm

but turns his back. You have to be 100% sure, they could not have been

dealt. That is how we have to play when we

are not at our best. We should have had a penalty as well. When you have

your arm up like this, normally it is a penalty. The relationship

between Swansea and penalties is not good. This is our fifth clean sheet

out of nine matches. It is five away games, only conceded one penalty,

but only nine points in total, which is not good enough on the basis of

only needing one goal to win a game afoot all in five matches.

It was not the worst goalless draw in the world. Sam Allardyce was

complaining about not scoring goals, but he does not play a striker. It

was another 4-6-0 formation. It worked at Tottenham, you are looking

at things like this, counter attacks and set plays. That is what we

mainly saw from West Ham today. Ravel Morrison tucked one away

against Tottenham in similar manner. He likes a straight free kick, down

the throat of the goalkeeper. Swansea had their moments, they got

out wide, Alvaro Vazquez tantalisingly close. It was mainly

set pieces that the chances were coming from. They brought on Carlton

Cole, to give them a focal point, and this is the big talking point.

It is not a penalty, it is only a few yards away. I did not think it

was at all. Similar to the decision at White Hart Lane. The penalty that

was given there. There is not a great deal of difference. No, but I

do not think either is a penalty. Joe Cole has turned his back. His

arms are up for the balance. This comes off Ahmed Elmohamady's me

first. It is really harsh on Hull City, but it tells you about West

Ham, that they have got to bring Carlton Cole back. Their striker

situation is dire. We talk about whether the arm is in a natural

position or not. You said, if your leg is in a certain position, your

arm has to be in a certain position. Of course. The only way

Ahmed Elmohamady could have deliberately handball that was if he

was doing the hokey cookie. It skipped up off his five. It is going

very quickly. It is unnatural for your hand to stop the ball.

Arsenal against Chelsea, Newcastle against Manchester City on Wednesday

night. Let's begin the look at yesterday's

games with the match between Southampton and Fulham. It appeared

very comfortable for the home side. It certainly was, I worry for

Fulham. Southampton have started in great form, conceded nothing at

home. Scott Parker telling Dimitar Berbatov what to do, and he ignores

it. It is hilarious, he has not only pushed him into place, but he still

has not done it. Why would you have Dimitar Berbatov marking Rickie

Lambert? He is a big lad, but I agree, give him the responsibility,

it is not ideal. Fulham have got some cracking individual players,

but they look like they are struggling. Southampton are flying,
